Here is the next chapter. For the American reader Cordial in the UK is like Cool Aid to you guys just to clarify. Also I have decided Snape will act differently then usual in this story but he may act the same with others. He might just be understanding or something. I've not decided yet. This story is not canon so if you were expecting that then I'm sorry. A lot of the characters are OOC. Please read and review it and we'll see where it goes. Love Moon xxx

Harry looked around in awe at the food on the table. There were platters of mashed potatoes, chips, roast potatoes, buttered corn on the cob, roast carrots and parsnips. He also saw platters of cauliflower and broccoli cheese mixed with spaghetti, carbonara, steak with fried mushrooms, spicy chicken wings and everything in between. That did only count what he could see though because he imagined there to be more foods up the table he couldn't see from his vantage point. He decided to have some spicy chicken wings with some buttered corn on the cob to start followed by steak with pepper sauce and fried mushrooms. It was to die for. All the people of Ravenclaw watched him wondering what he'd choose and smiled at the choices he did make. He had chosen well and what's more he was such a polite eater too. They all seemed impressed he'd chosen so well not that he noticed it though as he was too busy enjoying his foods to notice right now.

Dumbledore frowned at the impeccable manners of the boy wondering where in the hell he'd gotten those from? He knew for a fact that Vernon and Petunia did not have manners like this so it was confusing that Harry should have them at all. Also he'd discovered Harry didn't have an owl or the wand he'd thought he'd be compatible with. It was all different. He'd need to ask the sorting hat later on why it had chosen Ravenclaw over Gryffindor for him. Ravenclaw was actually not a bad house. I mean it would never compare to Gryffindor because well nothing ever did for him but all the same it wasn't a bad house. He just hoped the house itself was kind to Harry. What if he wasn't smart enough for it? What would he do if Harry floundered in that house? Well either way he had everything set up for Harry to go against Voldemort or Quirrelmort as it were in many different ways so that it occurred. He realised not every way would work which is why he had developed so many different ways for him to defeat Voldemort.

He'd never been sure of his house placement anyway. I mean so long as it wasn't Slytherin it truly didn't matter. He noticed Snape was not giving Harry bad looks and frowned. In fact Severus wasn't even looking at him. Did he dislike him so much he couldn't even look at him? If so this was good as it served to further alienate them both within the school. He was disabused of that notion however as Severus glanced at him raising his eyebrows in question. If he didn't hate and torment Harry this would never continue to make everyone hate Slytherin house as a whole. It was his wish for everyone to always hate Slytherin as Voldemort had come from that house and he wished to always alienate it to send a strong message to Voldemort. It never worked of course as Voldemort didn't care less about what anyone else thought of Slytherin.

He cared only for his own house. He himself had been stunned Harry had not gone to Gryffindor like his stupid parents had. What's more he was furious as he couldn't read the boys mind. Dumbledore too was furious about that as he'd attempted it when Harry had looked him in the eyes for a few seconds and saw nothing but molten lava and flames. It was how Harry imagined hell and it was what he wanted those who intruded to see if their intentions were truly evil. If they weren't evil but he still didn't want them to see it properly they would see the historical ship as Severus had when he'd peered into the boys mind. Severus however had been so stunned that he'd muttered ten points to Ravenclaw for excellence as the counter filled up. The hall however had been so busy and noisy that no one had noticed Ravenclaw had just earned ten points.

As dinner progressed Harry began talking with Anthony Goldstein and Michael Corner who'd been sorted into Ravenclaw too. Michael was hilariously funny and he knew they'd be fast friends. Anthony was not so fun but he could tell he was an intelligent boy and did like that about him.

"Tell me Harry how are you adjusting to the magical world?" Anthony asked with a slight sneer which Filius frowned at. That boy would not go far if he continued like that. However knowing those in his house did not suffer fools easily he could tell that within the first few weeks he'd soon stop that behaviour as the house as a whole would force him to do so.

"Naturally enough Anthony I am quite a 6keen reader and so I know a lot of things about our world. It is for that reason that there hasn't been much I have needed to adjust to. How are you adjusting to our world?" he asked as Anthony looked totally thrown.

"I've never left our world so I didn't need to adjust to it thank you very much. Now to important matters, why don't you have glasses or a red pulsing scar?" he asked as Harry himself sneered a bit.

"I have never had those things so I have no idea why you would think I had. You didn't know me before school and I would appreciate it if you did not prejudge me. I get enough of that as it is and don't need it in my own. It would be like me calling you an unintelligent unconscionable swine. I would appreciate it if you don't make such an error again!" he said calmly and so calmly that others in his house marvelled at the soft spoken take down he'd delivered. He'd put Anthony in his place firmly while using a soft voice never once shouting something that terrified Anthony who truly didn't understand but apologised none the less. Actually Anthony was fine. Once he'd loosened up and learned that no one gave a damn what his blood status was he'd be fine. He was just a bit stuck up for now. He also spoke with Kevin Murphy an Irish boy who had a nice accent. Kevin was very excited to find the library and research something Harry admired greatly. Harry turned to his prefect Penelope Clearwater to ask her a question.

"Penelope I was wondering if you know anything about how magical portraits are made? I'd like to make one for my aunt for Christmas if I can at some stage" he asked as she smiled at him.

"I can see why you were sorted here for sure. Not here five minutes and already wanting to get down to spellcasting. I don't know all that much about it myself unfortunately but Professor Flitwick does. He's there sitting at the head table in the teal and gold coloured robes. I am sure if you ask him later tonight he'd be able to help you out. We're all delighted you're in Ravenclaw you know. It really is an honour for us. To be honest we're happy Gryffindor didn't get you as we'd never hear the end of it if they did. They don't know when to quit whilst being ahead that lot!" she said with a slight frown as Harry followed her eye line to some Gryffindor boys who were quite literally stuffing their faces like pigs and did look disgusting. It very nearly turned his stomach to look at them. He could see why she had looked so disgusted. I mean to eat so sloppily and as though you'd never again see food was disgusting to say the least.

As he finished his dinner he was further stunned as the table was loaded with different deserts, tea, hot chocolate and coffee. He'd never seen so many yummy things in his life all in one place that is. His eyes visibly lit up in joy. He'd like it here he knew it. He took a cup and saucer filling it with some tea which he filled with a little milk and sugar. Over the summer he'd developed a taste for it when Aunt Petunia had given it to him. He stirred the tea neatly placing his teaspoon into the saucer. He had wanted to do it extra politely after seeing how the Gryffindor males had been eating their dinner. He'd wished to set an example and boy had he! Everyone in Ravenclaw that could see him followed his example and those which couldn't see him were told to do as he was doing and simply complied. Filius watched in awe as his house quite literally reformed the manner in which they dined. I mean they'd never been messy but they were now thinking about how they ate and indeed how it looked and consciously made more of an effort to look polite. It would make many of them look very educated in polite society something he was proud of and award ten points for.

If that had been Gryffindor McGonagall would have given twenty points and Dumbledore would have given forty. There was no fairness in that he thought. Harry leaned forward grabbing a chocolate éclair and some shortbread fingers for his tea. He ate the two shortbread fingers first and then the small éclair. In fact the éclair had cream in it and he ate it carefully wiping his mouth with the napkin in his lap when he'd gotten some on his face. He had noticed the house following his method of eating now and was happy for them. A clean house was an intelligent well-functioning house. Hufflepuff house itself was buzzing with the changes they'd seen in Ravenclaw house although they didn't know where these changes had come from. Those members of that house who were not eating so nicely did so once they noticed it and overall both houses began to eat their meals neatly and so neatly that Gryffindor now stuck out like a sore thumb. Dumbledore seethed as he noticed this as did McGonagall but her seething was out of embarrassment and not the same as Dumbledore's. Severus saw it all unfolding before him with interest. He still intended to antagonise Harry in his first lesson but depending entirely on his response to it would determine how he behaved with him afterwards. If he knew that Harry loved cooking he'd have been shocked to say the least. It was then that Harry entirely stunned him doing something no one had ever done before or that anyone had ever seen coming.

"I wonder who the chef of this food was?" he asked Kevin who looked equally thrown. Before they had a chance to answer however Tilly the head house elf of Hogwarts appeared there before them.

"I am Tilly the head house of Hogwarts and it was me and my elves who cooked the dinner tonight" she responded almost as if to answer his question. Dumbledore was entirely thrown watching Harry in interest. What would the boy do next he wondered.

"Well in that case please take my compliments to you and your elves. The food was simply delicious and I loved it so much. I hope you will all get to enjoy some later if you didn't already. It really is worth tasting. I am not however sure how you guys and girls eat!" he said as she shrieked in shock surprising him greatly.

"Please I'm sorry I meant nothing bad I swear. Oh no I'm so useless at this thing. I'm so sorry if I offended you guys or something it was never my intention!" he said panicking as she stopped shrieking and looked at him in awe tears streaming from her eyes. In fact she was looking at him almost reverently.

"Mr Potter we know you and indeed your legend. You did not offend us, far from it. We rarely ever get compliments though so I must apologise for my own outburst. I thank you so much for that. It is so rare for us!" she said as he gasped shocking those in his house around him.

"But why ever not? I'm so sorry but that's not on. I will not stand for this unconscionable behaviour from now on. In future we should thank everyone who makes our food every day. This is the logical and most polite thing to do. Besides which I'd rather not have poisoned food because someone somewhere thinks they are too good to say thank you. What kinds of things do you like? I wish to find something you like I can leave out for you to collect and enjoy from time to time to say thanks personally. Would you guys like some chocolate a couple of times a year or something?" he asked kindly as she once more teared up.

"We get magic from the school which sustains our life but unfortunately it is not always enough. I don't like to say this but you did ask. Some of our elves could do with bonding and having a master who attends the school while continuing to work here. That of course would mean they would take a small portion of your magical reserves to fully and properly power themselves! Most purebloods have them already and do not need one but there are half-bloods and muggleborn students who do not!" she said awkwardly pulling on her ear in visible distress. Neither Albus nor Minerva could hear what was being discussed as they weren't close enough to hear it. It would seem something had highly offended Harry but they couldn't see what it was yet.

"Well in that case please go and tell every half-blood and muggleborn about the situation. I am sure they would be willing to help. I will take an elf myself. I do not see any reason they should need to suffer because the magical reserves of the sentient school in which they work which is so old itself are diminished. It is only natural when a sentient school is here that long that her magical reserves will diminish!" he said as an excited elf popped in beside him jumping up and down with joy.

"Is everything alright Mr Potter?!" Albus asked as he and Filius approached.

"Yes it's fine Mr Dumbledore. I was just thanking these elves for the marvellous dinner they gave us. I was frankly disgusted no one else does so. We are lucky they don't poison our foods for having such awful manners. She was telling me that there are elves here that are not as strong as they could be because the sentient magic of this school building is not strong enough for them. I have said I will bond with an elf to help them out and the rest are free to go to muggleborn students and half-blood students alike. I see nothing wrong with aiding those who do the most for us!" he said very politely as Dumbledore gasped in abject horror.

"I'm afraid I cannot allow that Harry and it's Professor Dumbledore. Mr Dumbledore was my father. If they bond with all these students we will not have anyone to cook the meals for the school so I must forbid it. We need those elves to cook and clean for us!" he snapped as Harry reeled at how blatantly rude he was being.

"You have quite clearly misunderstood me sir. We intend to bond with them to sustain their lives and allow them to continue their work at the school while we are here. They will always be welcome to work at the school. I see no reason why that should change. I mean obviously we might need them to do something for us every now and again as that's logical but if you continue to refuse this those elves could die. I believe in life for all things sir and I cannot condemn these interesting creatures to die eventually!" he said passionately as his house members clapped for him something which didn't stop even as Dumbledore frowned deeply at them all.

"Fine go ahead but they must swear to work always in the school while it is in session. If I don't lose workers it's all fine. Thank you!" he said stunned as Filius stepped forward.

"Harry Potter I am Professor Filius Flitwick the head of house Ravenclaw and I thank you for showing such kindness to others in need. This is one of our strongest traits you know. I must award ten points to Ravenclaw!" he said as Albus interrupted.

"Now, now Filius is that really necessary? Ten points just for that?" he questioned as Filius looked weirdly at him.

"Well I know Minerva would have awarded twenty and you probably more had he been a Gryffindor alas he is not a Gryffindor and therefore my responsibility. If I give him too many points they will go to his head and he'll never need to work for anything something I'd rather not foster in my ravens if you don't mind!" he chided as Albus looked furious because Filius had not understood what he'd meant earlier on. What he had actually meant was that Harry should have only gotten five points and not ten. He was right though. If he'd been in Gryffindor he'd have gotten way more points because of it being the best house the school has. It was his house so of course it was the best considering he was. He nodded once and skulked off back to the head table. Now of course everyone had thankfully gotten back to their deserts and the thirty five elves who had needed people found them and it was all thanks to Harry's help. Hermione had outright refused to have an elf so her intended elf had gone elsewhere. She was in Harry's opinion free to make her own choices but didn't get to judge his and everyone else's like she currently was. Filius removed five points from his house for her lack of an open mind. Severus was not the only staff member who could take points for ridiculous reasons. If it got her to think logically however it was worth it to take those points.

"I am Minnie and I will be your new house elf. I will take your hands in a moment and we will bond. After this you'll be my master and must give me my rules I must follow. You tell me what to do and I must do it!" she instructed grabbing both of his hands as a bright flash occurred between them and he somehow felt whole and full of love realising that this must be how she feels. When the glow died down moments later she stood a bit taller and looked much healthier then she had previously. Harry had his very own family member and was thrilled to say the least. He realised of course that she was waiting for her rules and thought about them carefully. They would need to be things which made sense to him.

"Ok thank you Minnie. Please call me Harry or sir in the future as you like. You must do everything you do sensibly and not in such a way as to hurt yourself. A sick elf is not a helpful elf. If I ask you do something which is not physically possible for you to do then please tell me and I will simply do it myself. Please check my foods and drink for poisons whenever you can or until I learn how to myself. I will let you know when I know how to do it myself so that you can stop" he said pausing to think of some more important rules before continuing. It wouldn't be good to give her rules which made no sense.

"I have a Persian cat called Persephone or Percy and you should care for her as and when she needs it if I am in class myself. For now you can go back to the kitchens and follow the advice of the head elf. Do all she tells you to. I will call you when I need you. Oh yeah and before you go um I don't know how you guys deal with conflict or whatever but um don't punish yourself or anything scary like that. I don't like punishment. It's too harsh and not at all necessary. Thank you so very much!" he said kindly as she nodded once and left. He noticed that his tea which had gone cold as he'd been talking was now nice and warm again thanks to Minnie. He was delighted as he felt her love and warmth coursing through him. She deeply loved him and would protect him at all costs.
