A/N: Still don't own anything

Hogsmeade was quiet that morning. Since school was not in session, most of the shops weren't crowded and Lily and Draco found themselves mostly alone.

"Was the whole point of coming here to get some time to ourselves?" she asked, pausing the doorway of a shop.

"Maybe," Draco answered, giving her a wide smile. He reached over and grabbed her hand. "Or maybe I forgot to pick up some ingredients."

"I doubt that," Lily laughed, wrapping her fingers around his. She glanced around and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"Do you honestly need to do that," Severus muttered, strolling past.

"Sorry, sir, you won't see it happen again," Lily answered, looking up at him.

"And yet, I doubt there's an iota of truth in those words," he grumbled. "Get your things and head back," he added.

"Let's go grab those quills for Professor Flitwick," Lily suggested, walking with Draco, her hand still in his. He nodded.

"There's that little alcove behind the stationary, but you told Severus-"

"I told him he won't see it happen again, not that it wouldn't," she stated, "besides, he's right, in a way, we don't know who's watching, there could be students here, or someone else who likes to gossip."

"I know, it's just... Having you at the castle and knowing how we both feel."

"Never said this year was going to be easy," Lily replied, wrapping her arms around Draco the moment they were hidden from view behind a large display of self writing quills.

"At least it's only a year," Draco purred in her ear, bringing his lips to hers.

"Still longer than I wish it was, wish I could just follow my uncles' suit and drop out, it would solve at least one problem."

"And create a million more, Lily. You want to be a teacher, can't do that if you don't finish school, take you tests, get the marks."

"But I could spend all my time with you," she countered, giving him another quick kiss.

"It'll be over before you know it. Now, what quills did you need to get, Miss Potter?" Draco asked, taking a step back as they heard the bell above the door ring signaling someone else had entered the shop.

"The ones we for levitating, they're over here, sir. These ones, they're a little lighter than writing quills. They also don't have the metal tip," she explained, wondering if anyone was actually listening.

"And that Miss Potter is exactly why you're the right person to take over the job. You understand the reason we use the equipment that we use. Would you use the same ones once you've taken over?" Draco asked, the pair of them walking towards the register at the front of the shop.

"I don't know, I'd have to try out some other ones, see which is easier for the students. Levitating is one of the first charms they learn, their introduction into magic altogether if they're from a muggle home. I don't want it to be too hard as that would only discourage them."

Draco nodded, watching Lily charge the quills to the Hogwarts account.

"Where to next?"

"The pet shop, I need to grab some treats for Nim, oh and fill out an order form for a new owl," she added, giving him a wink.

"Get something small, something common. Why your father insisted all three of you kids had snow owls..."

"That's what he had, remember? I seem to remember stories about you having an equally flashy owl in school as well."

"Father bought him for me."

"And the one now?" Lily asked.

"Just go get your form," Draco laughed. Lily nodded, darting into the shop and doing just that. She would soon have a tawny owl. It wasn't small, but it was common and she had seen a least a dozen in the owlery the previous year.

"That's that, anything else before we head back, and no snogging in a dark alley is not what I mean."

"I would hope not," Severus stated, appearing behind the pair. He had a few bags in his hand. "Draco, have you gotten everything you need?"

"Yes, Uncle Severus," he replied.

"And Miss Potter?"

"Yes, sir," she chirped, trying not to laugh as they started back to the castle, Draco still carrying the bag with the quills.
