Harry was sitting at the Slytherin table for breakfast Monday morning going over his few pieces of mail. He was up before most of his dormmates like usual, and instead of waiting in the common room he came down with some fourth years he was friendly with. Breakfast hadn't been served yet and it seemed that the few students in the Great Hall were either reading mail or some book. Harry turned his attention back to his mail.

The first one was from his solicitor, Mr. Gorestone, about the suit against book publishers. It seemed that the only one publisher, Magic Wizard Publishing Co., were the ones to print The Harry Potter Adventures and make a fortune off the series. Considering that they paraded the stories as fact instead of fiction, the solicitor was asking for all the revenue plus illegal use of a minor's image. That and the refunds some people were already demanding and the recall from stores and public libraries across the magical world, the Magic Wizard Publishing Co. was destined for bankruptcy. Mr. Gorestone was wondering if Harry wanted him to buy the company out afterwards or not. Placing the letter down, Harry thought for a moment. Buying up the publishing companies was the original plan he came up with the goblins, and considering it was only the one doesn't really change anything. Making the company pay for writing false books and then buying it after it closed as a warning for others and being able to use in the future was still a good idea, no matter it was only one instead of many. With a decision in mind, Harry wrote a conformation letter to buy the company after it bankrupt and set it aside. Hedwig will deliver it after coming to get her daily bacon.

Harry picked up the next letter and saw that it was from Gringotts. Harry almost didn't want to open it because he knew that it concerned the will reading and the moving of his parents to the family crept. Biting his lip, Harry open the letter and released a breath he didn't know he was holding. It seemed that the goblins wanted permission to clean Potter Manor and make any repairs needed. Hopefully they would be done by the time summer came around. It would be one less thing to worry about. The goblins also confirmed the release of monies and properties distributed in the will and the possible schedule to move his parents from Godric's Hollow to the family crept. It seemed that there was heavy rain in the area, and it would take about two weeks to schedule machinery needed before the goblins could transport them.

Folding the letter and placing it in his robes, Harry thought about it. The goblins would take care of everything and all he needed to do was open the manor and crept for them. Knowing that the first time he would see his family manor was when he would bury his parents was both heart warming and heart breaking. Going to a place where generations of history was awe inspiring and humbling. It also caused Harry grief that he wouldn't be learning that history from his parents, or any living relative for that matter. Harry knew that there would be portraits and journals that he would learn from, but that was different than hearing it from someone's own mouth.

Closing his eyes, Harry pushed his emotions down before writing another letter to conform with the goblins and to give him a specific date so he could prepare and another one to Sirius and Remus to let them know. He had a feeling that both of them needed the closure as well since they were good friends with his father. With that done, Harry turned to the Head Table to look for the resident Potions Master. Knowing that he and his mother use to be friends, Harry had a feeling that Professor Snape would like to come along, no matter the relationship he had with Sirius and Remus. Spotting Professor Snape coming in, Harry made his way over before he sat down.

"Professor Snape, may I have a word for a moment?"

"Will we need a private room, Mr. Potter?" Harry thought for a moment. Even thought there weren't that many students here, Harry didn't want anyone to overhear what he was about to say.

"If that wouldn't be to much trouble, sir." Severus looked at him for a moment before turning the way he came and walked into the side chamber most of the staff comes through when entering the Great Hall. Harry scrambled after him, and his long strides, into the side room. Meanwhile, Severus created a privacy ward so they wouldn't be interrupted by any passing professor that's an early riser like himself.

"I hope this is private enough for you, Mr. Potter?"

"Yes, thank you, sir." Taking a deep breath and getting his thoughts in order, Harry looked up to Severus. "The goblins have informed me that my parents are going to be moved to the family crypt in approximately two weeks. I haven't received the exact date yet, but I was wondering if you would like to pay your respects for when I do. I've also invited Remus Lupin and Sirius Black as well since they were dad's oldest friends." Severus froze in shock that he would be asked something like this. It wasn't until recently that he got an apology he always wanted from James Potter and forgiveness from Lily, but could be go to the funeral of the people that he caused to be dead in the first place? "You don't have to decide right now, but I thought to invite you."

"Thank you, Mr. Potter. I will let you know soon, but either way, please inform me of the date so the Headmistress could be informed." Harry nodded before heading back to the Great Hall. More students were at the table along with breakfast. Harry spotted Hedwig by his plate waiting for him along with the letters he already written. Harry internally winced at forgetting to secure his correspondence, but seeing that neither seals were broken he was glad that no one did anything to them. That would be embarrassing after all the trouble the goblins went through to protect his mail. Blaise was sitting across from him reading the Daily Profit while munching on some sliced fruit.

"Anything interesting that doesn't involve me?"

"You know that isn't possible at the moment, but yes there is something interesting. It seems that some new legislation is going through, mainly those involving the departments concerning children. Not to mention they are limiting the amount of positions one can hold considering what Dumbledore did with his power." Harry nodded while loading his plate and Hedwig's daily bacon offering.

"I guess the next Wizengamot meeting will determine if the new legislations will go through. I almost wish I was able to take my seats for it."

"Have you thought about having a regent?"

"Yes, but I don't know that many adults yet, so finding one to trust for something like that is hard. But I do know me waiting until I'm fourteen isn't the smartest move as well. For the moment, I just have to wait until I think of someone."

"Fair enough. You have time anyway. Waiting a year before appointing someone will have others looking favorably at you."

"Yeah, but right now, I'm just taking one day at a time. I'm more worried about the Prince Battles taking place next weekend. I'm glad I overheard some of the upper-years talk about it before it's to be announced." Although Harry couldn't see it clearly, Blaise nodded his head in agreement. This gave them more time to practice than the other first years.

"Hmm. Did you learn any magic from the guard the goblins gave you?"

"Yes, but I have a feeling that someone like Malfoy will know more than a few tricks."

"True." Blaise gave him a look over his paper before looking away and responding in seemingly disinterested voice. "Maybe myself and Theo can go over some spells. That way it will increase the chances of one of us making Prince."

"Really, you think that will help?"

"Of course. My mother taught me some things considering she has some enemies, and I know that Theo knows some spells as well. Many think his grandfather is too old to teach him much, but I know that he isn't as feeble as many believe. If we pool our knowledge, one of us will win and be able to protect the others."

"We'll talk to Theo when we have the chance. We don't want anyone else knowing what we're doing until afterwards."

"Good plan, now eat before we have to see the youngest Weasley shovel food into his mouth." Blaise shivered in exaggerated disgust and Harry could help his laugh before he started eating as well.

0000000 Neville Longbottom, Gryffindor Dorms 0000000

Neville had just exited from the bathroom when he noticed that Ron and Dean was still asleep. Seamus had come into the bathroom twenty minutes after him, even if he was still half asleep, and was still getting ready. Shaking his head in exasperation, Neville headed over to Deans bed first. Considering he was friendlier with Dean; Neville had a feeling he would be the easier of the two to wake up first. Going over to the bed, he started gently shaking Dean.

"Hey, Dean, wake up." Groaning, Dean turned over before going back to sleep. Neville almost chuckled before trying again. "Come on, Dean, we have classes today."

"What time is it?" Neville almost didn't hear him considering Dean still had the covers over his head, but Neville was able to decipher it.

"A little after seven forty. If you get dressed quickly, you'll have enough time to get down to the Great Hall and have a decent breakfast before classes." With a groan, Dean sat up with a serios case of bedhead. It was almost as bad as Harry's usual hair.

"Please tell me there is coffee at this place."

"If you're able to talk some of the upper years in passing some down, then yes. Otherwise a nice shower will wake you up. Now get going while I try to wake Ron up. And don't forget your books. You don't want to climb back up here just to get them." Dean mumbled his reply, which Neville wasn't even going to try and guess at, and went towards Ron's bed.

Ron was snoring up a storm while being spread eagle across the bed. There was also clothes and candy wrappers tossed all around his bed. Neville couldn't believe anyone could make such a mess in such a short amount of time. Dean and Seamus weren't as tidy as himself, but neither boys' areas were as bad. Taking his self-appointed task at hand, Neville started shaking Ron to wake him up. Unfortunately, he wasn't as easy to wake up as Dean.

"Ron, if you don't wake up, you'll be late."

"Go away, Longbottom. I have enough time to get breakfast, now let me sleep!" Ron closed his curtains before going to sleep. Huffing, Neville shook his head before moving towards his bed to grab his bag. Making sure that he had everything, he swung it over his shoulder. Dean and Seamus came out of the bathroom, both looking more awake and alert than before.

"I thought you were waking Ron up, Neville?" Dean gave Neville a questioning look while also getting his bag ready, tossing some parchment and quills in after seeing he forgot them.

"So, did I, but he just shouted that he had enough time before closing his curtains in my face. If he wishes to sleep in and rush, then that's his issue."

"If he loses us any more house points, I'll help you drag him out of bed next time you try to wake him." Seamus said jokingly. Both boys laughed before all three started heading down to breakfast.

00000000 Great Hall, Head Table 00000000

Headmistress Doris look over Great Hall and all the students. It seemed that most managed to wake themselves up for their first class of the day and still have time to eat breakfast without getting heartburn. It seemed that Mondays were always the toughest for those that had classes first thing in the moment. It didn't matter if you were a first year or seventh, or some teachers if she being honest, some things were universal, no matter where you went. Satisfied, she looked over the other staff and the visiting guests. The Healer and her accompanying Medi-Healers and Trainees were eating at the Head table with them. Healer Grain looked calm and collected, which was impressive with hundred of young children looking and pointing amongst 'hushed' whispers. The Medi-Healers looked more uncomfortable than nervous with all the attention while the younger Trainees had various looks of nervousness that almost made her chuckle. If they wanted to make it in such a demanding field, they needed to get stronger nerves.

"You seem to be in a good mood, Headmistress. Any good news to share?" Turning her attention to Minerva, she pursed her lips at remembering her morning.

"Unfortunately, that is not totally the case. I was talking to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magic Creatures."

"Whatever for, Headmistress? Is there an infestation of doxies that Hagrid couldn't handle?"

"If only it was doxies." Lowering her voice, Doris made sure that they weren't overheard by curious students. "It seems that Hagrid released an acromantula into the forest after he was framed for the murder of that poor girl. He didn't want it to be killed by the Ministry after they snapped his wand without a proper trail." Minerva released a small gasp at the news.

"An acromantula has been living in the forest all this time?!"

"Not just one unfortunately. Hagrid brought it a female mate so, Aargog, the original acromantula, wouldn't be lonely. So now there is an entire colony in the forest. It seems that the only reason we haven't had an attack is because Aargog promised Hagrid that none of his kin would attack the castle or students. Well that and dumb luck that nobody came across them."

"By Merlin and Morgana, I can't believe we've had an acromantula colony so close to the school without anyone but Hagrid knowing."

"Dumbledore knew, but did nothing about it. That is why I was on the Floo talking to the Creature Department about it. They managed to get back to me today and have a time when a team is able to do a preliminary survey to see if Hagrid was correct about there numbers and the area they inhabit. Once that's done, they'll decide if they are able to remove the colony safely or have to destroy them. Please don't tell Hagrid about the last part though. It will devastate him further and I don't want him alerting the colony."

"Of course. The more I find out about Dumbledore and his transgressions, the more I can't believe how fooled I've been about him."

"Don't blame yourself too much, Minerva. It seems that he's been fooling people for a long time. All we can do now is do what we can and ensure that we don't fail these children. I am also hoping that you can deal with the team coming through while I talk with the curse breakers when they come this Wednesday?"

"Of course. What time will they be coming on Wednesday?"

"They'll be coming through the Floo around 2pm. They would come sooner if the approximant number of acromantula weren't so high." Minerva blanched at this and seemed to hold herself from asking how big the colony was. She had a feeling she was better off knowing after the fact. "If you could great them, that would be great. I'll leave you a map Hagrid left me so they can know where to start." Minerva nodded before straightening up in her seat.

Shaken by the news she just learned, but not showing it so the children wouldn't worry, she looked throughout the Great Hall with a distracted eye. She watched as the last of the stragglers rushed into the Great Hall to get some breakfast before classes started. Not surprising, considering it usually took a weak or two before most got into the habit of waking before nine in the morning. Although, looking at some of her more rumpled lions, she was going to have to go over personal presentation at the next house meeting. And alarm charms for those heavier sleepers. The grace period for tardiness was nearing its end, and she really didn't want to lose the House Cup to Severus again. The clinging of glass brought her and everyone else's attention to Headmistress Doris.

"Good morning, students. I am sure that all of you have noticed out guests eating with us this morning. They are the Healer and Medi-Healers sent to help our own Madam Poppy with your physicals. They will be starting this afternoon, after lunch, with first years. That being said, first years will not have afternoon classes today and morning classes tomorrow. Second years, you will start Wednesday afternoon, third years Friday afternoon, and so on for the next two weeks unless otherwise notified. This is mandatory, so please don't have us hunt you down because we will." She sent a serious look to the students. She nodded and continued with her announcements.

"We will also be hosting curse breakers and warders to look over our wards starting Wednesday. They will be here for most of the year while they review and update our wards. Please be courteous and stay out of their way. If you have questions about their profession, I'll see if they are willing to answer some questions during their stay here." Excited whispers started around the Great Hall. Before they got even more distracted, Doris caught their attention again.

"I have one more announcement before you go off to classes today. The Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures Department will also be sending a team to survey the creatures we host in the Forbidden Forest starting Wednesday as well. They usually do this during the summer, but unforeseen circumstances delayed them. While they are here, you are not to follow them into the forest. There are some species that reside in the forest that only trained professionals know how to deal with. I will not have them distracted because any one of you want an 'adventure'. If caught out by them or staff, you will be suspended for a month with a letter home detailing how you put yourself and others at risk." There were many gasps and paling faces. There hadn't been a suspension or expulsion since Hagrid, and many of them didn't want to be the first after such a long time.

"I know this may seem harsh, but this is for everyone's protection. We have some dangerous and protected species living next to us that need special care and attention. If you are interested in their profession, I will try to see if they will talk to you after dinner some time this week. But that is only if nobody bothers them during their work." The severe look she sent to the students made many of them think she, McGonagell, and Snape were taught it by the same person. With a nod, Doris softened her features.

"Thank you and I'll let you get back to the remainder of your breakfast before classes. If you have any questions of concerns, please come to me or your Head of House." Doris sat back down with a sigh.

"Do you think you were a little harsh with the students with that last point, Headmistress?" Before Doris could answer, Severus did with a scoff.

"Please, Filius, those little creations need a firm hand if they don't wonder into trouble. I suggest we all keep a firm eye out on those students overly curious or mischievous."

"Why are you looking at me like that Severus?"

"Probably because you have Fred and George Weasley that take after their uncles to a frightening degree." Minerva snorted at that. She remembered Fabian and Gideon Prewett during the beginning of her teaching career. The amount of trouble those two could create was legendary, although they weren't as invested into their pranks as their nephews seemed to be. If the Weasley twins took their grades as seriously as the Prewett twins, then Fred and George would go far.

"Either way, we should keep an eye out so they're not underfoot of anyone and actually goes to the Healers on time." Everyone nodded at Doris before the warning bell sounded. The students started leaving and the professors with classes left out of the side chamber. Doris finished the last of her tea before heading to her office. There was still a lot to do before lunch came around. She wondered how the list kept on growing and growing.
