Well since I'm going to be gone for over a week, I decided to update this story today. Hope you all enjoy!

Mailbox Time!

Antisocial7: Ironically enough, you'll understand much later why Wonder Woman didn't use the lasso of truth. Trust me, it's all tied into the plot.

Scarease: I know. And something tells me they weren't trying to do that on purpose.

SteinMon1920518: Hey, I'm a fan of the Sandlot too! I know, it's just one of those little nudges to get this story freaking rolling on! It'd be boring if I left things going good for like, ten chapters or so.

WarpCrazy: Almost, but not quite. You'll know when to start playing the music though.

drannaka: Dang, I wish I'd thought of introducing Superboy to Grandma Kent. That'd be a really funny fanfic of Martha grounding Superman. Somebody should write about that.

Mr. Ursine: No, hold the music for now.

Golem XIV: Find out your answers next time, on Total, Drama, Fanfics!

TheAlienHeart: I know rowdy is just how my readers like it.

shugokage: Thanks man!

364wii: Trust me. It's even better than you realize dude. You might be a bit happy with it actually.

Anti Reaper: Yeah, that about sums it up.

HornedGoddess: Sorry about that. I toned it down just a little bit. On going through again, I realized I wasn't having him say it enough. A little out of character fault on my own part.

Eris: I guess you'll have to wait and find out what happens.

: Tracking me down? Please, I've been across the United States and back several times the last couple weeks. How can you plan on tracking me down? :) Hope its to your liking!

swemanD47: That question is going to be resolved later. I guess you could say right now she's more used to it. She isn't necessarily adding to her problem, but you'll see how it visibly affects her later on. Till then, enjoy!

Jakeros: To answer your last review, I knew adding in the sound effects was risky. I just really liked the idea though. It makes it a lot easier to describe some scenes, especially the fight ones. So much better than before. To your second comment, yeah. The two are in for quite the surprise this chapter.

waleedziad1970: Thanks man. I hope you continue to enjoy it :).

black blood knight13: Sorry, I'm just juggling so many different things and so many different ideas and I want to pace this out so I have time to work on them. And a small confession, I actually thought Superman's mom was Marie. When I looked it up, I found out I was wrong, realized I'd written myself into a corner, and came up with the most plausible bull crap excuse to write myself out of it. So... yeah, it was completely accidental. Heheh...

Chapter Thirty-Three: Suspicions

The sun was slightly up over the horizon in the distance, poking out from under a small group of clouds. It's graceful rays of warmth went out over the wheat and corn fields of the Midwest, and painted a variety of colors in the early morning sky. A flock of birds flew up above, and horses and cows grazed in their fields down below.

It was a rather, truly amazing sight...

"Ugh..."

The scene moved inside a room where a large lump could be seen under the covers of its bed. The tired creature groaned to itself again because of the burning sunlight, and burrowed deeper into the covers of its den to block out the morning light. Allowing it to sleep for a few minutes more.

(Enter Crocodile Hunter's voice)

"Krikey! Would you look at that! It looks like we've managed to stumble upon the dangerous greenius lazicus in its resting state!"

"Ugh..." The lump groaned to itself, and then it rolled over in its sleep.

"You see this here is one of the rarest species of human. Unlike some other humans, this one is green, but like a lot of other humans, it is definitely not a morning person. In fact, when forced to wake up before 9:00, this creature can be one of the most deadly to walk the face of the Earth. With its claws and fangs, and not to mention its inhumane strength always at the ready to destroy whatever tries to awaken it. One wrong move, and I could be a goner..."

"Aw yessss..." The creature seemed to have finally gotten in a comfortable position in it's den of blankets.

"I'm gonna poke it with a clock."

A cracked digital looking screen moved from 6:59 to 7:00.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The dented looking alarm clock started to blare loudly at the greenius lazicus.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

SMASH!

A tan fist came out from under the covers and smashed the alarm clock into the nightstand. The alarm clock stopped blaring. It also had another dent in it's casing.

"Ugh..." Another groan came out from under the covers. "I just want to sleep." The greenius lazicus muttered. The covers shifted over as the creature tried to get comfortable again.

"I'm gonna poke a little harder this time."

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The evil alarm clock started to blare again.

The covers rustled, and a tired blonde head poked out from its den to glare at the dented bleeping clock.

"He's angry folks! He's angry!" The Crocodile Hunter yelled in the background.

"You're even worse than the rooster I had to deal with yesterday." Garfield said grouchily to his alarm clock as he shut it off again.

The scene showed the outside again. A rooster was shown on top of a fence post, trying to let out it's good morning cry. However, the duct tape around its beak kept it from opening more than enough for it to be able to breathe. In frustration, it sat down and started to claw at it's binding again. Garfield might have been a vegetarian at heart, but he valued sleep in the morning a lot more than a rooster loudly announcing it was morning to everyone within a ten mile radius.

Garfield set the alarm clock back down, and started to lie back onto the bed again. "What does a dude have to do to get a good nights sleep around here?" Garfield asked himself as he fluffed his pillow out behind him.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The alarm clock started to blare at the tired Garfield again. Garfield went wide eyed, and looked down at it.

"What the heck is wrong with you?!" He asked in amazement.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The alarm clock was acting very unusual this morning. Garfield looked at the rings on his hands. Then he looked back down at the alarm clock.

'Well, since the rings disguise when I have them out.' He thought to himself.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Slash!

A pair of invisible claws sliced the alarm clock into pieces.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

The alarm clock's beeping mechanism was somehow still working amidst all the pieces. It was like it was made to continue working despite being destroyed.

"You stupid, freaking little-" Garfield started to say angrily as he picked the slashed alarm clock up.

Crash!

He threw the pieces across the room into the wall.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Krikey! It looks like the greenius lazicus is battling it out with the feisty morning alarm clock!"

Garfield glared at the pieces. "That does it." He said darkly.

The rooster was shown again on it's fence post. It's claws were still working at the duct tape that kept it's beak sealed shut.

Kckckck!

Finally, somehow, a tearing sound sounded as the claws mananged to rip into the duct tape. Then the binding that had held the rooster's beak together came off. A look of glee came onto the rooster's face. Then it got up to blare the good morning call to the farm. "Co-"

Pow!

The rooster was beaned in the head by the pieces of the broken alarm clock. The rooster fell facefirst into the mud below.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The destroyed diabolical alarm clock continued to beep at the now dazed rooster in the mud.

Garfield was shown at the window. He put his arm back down, and then rubbed his hands over his eyes. "Dude, now I'm too awake to try and go back to sleep." He muttered irritably to himself.

"And there you have it folks! It seems like the greenius lazicus has won today's match! Join me next time when we watch our green friend initiate a mating ritual with none other than the palius-"

Thump.

The Crocodile Hunter's voice cut out as soon as Garfield closed the window. He looked back longingly at his bed. It was the last time he knew he'd be able to sleep in one for a while, since Rachel had the only bed in their little home away from home.

After a moment, Garfield sighed. "Might as well get the day started I guess." He said sadly.

'Yes. The sooner we're alone with our mate. The better.' The Beast said in his mind.

Garfield grabbed his towel off the dresser. 'Dude, at least keep it G-Rated this morning.' Garfield thought.

'What does G-Rated mean? Is that more of the slang in your human tongue?' The Beast asked.

'Yes. And it means say only what you would say to a puppy.' Garfield thought.

'Well, I guess I won't have to change my vocabulary much with you Master.' The Beast responded almost in jest.

'That isn't what- urgh! Dude, not cool!' Garfield thought back angrily.

The Beast was laughing in the background of Garfield's mind. Garfield rolled his eyes and started to walk for the door. 'I can't imagine how the morning could be any better.' He thought sarcastically to himself.

His sleep had been interrupted, again. The great dream he had been having about Raven had been interrupted, again. The only thing that could possibly make it worse...

Kckck.

He opened the door and walked out into the hallway.

Oof!

A few minutes ago...

Rachel turned the knobs of the sink off. Then she looked up at herself in the mirror. Her wet black shoulder length hair was resting on her shoulders. She had a towel wrapped around her body. She wore two rings identical to Garfield's on her two ring fingers. And she had a tired look on her face. A very tired look.

'That was one of the dumbest nights, ever.' Rachel thought tiredly to herself.

'I'll say. That dream was so not what we wanted to watch!' Rude yelled.

'There wasn't even that much action!' Brave complained.

'Or romance for that matter.' Lust said distastefully.

'Who cares about all that. I didn't even get enough rest.' Sloth complained tiredly.

'You never get enough rest bitch!' Rude yelled at Sloth.

'Gar was in our dreams though.' Love said dreamily.

Rachel rubbed her forehead with one of her hands. 'It is too early in the morning for me to even try to meditate?' Rachel thought to herself.

It seems as if Garfield's late sleep schedule had started to finally rub off on the 'I awake before sunrise' girl. At least she was also rubbing off on him. Otherwise she'd prefer to sleep in till 11:00 instead of 8:00.

'It's not like there's much for you to think about anyway. Not after the way you shifted the dream last night from where it was supposed to go!' Rage yelled.

Rachel turned away tiredly from the sink. 'You know I can always try to meditate before I have breakfast.' Rachel thought almost despondantly. The background threat was there though.

'C'mon Raven! You know you don't really need meditation all that much anymore!' Brave yelled.

'You have been better at controlling all of us lately.' Wisdom said wisely.

'I'm not as afraid of accidentally destroying stuff around us anymore.' Timid added quietly.

'Especially when we're around Beast Man.' Lust added to Timid's statement.

Rachel's face was blank of emotion. 'Then how about you all explain why I had no control over what you did last night before I slept?' She thought as she opened the door to the hallway.

There was finally silence from the peanut gallery. Rachel almost smirked as she walked out into the hallway. 'That's what I thought. Now I'm going to go and get dressed. And if you all behave, I'll save meditation for after I have-' Rachel was thinking, just as she was walking past Garfield's room to get to her hallway.

Kckck.

The door opened beside her. Rachel started to turn and look.

Oof! "Whoa!"

Garfield walked into her, and both him and Rachel fell down to the ground in surprise with him on top of her.

Rachel went shock still. Garfield was up close in only his shorts. He had a groggy look on his face, and he looked very disoriented as he tried to get back up.

"Huh, what the heck did I walk into." Garfield muttered to himself as his hands moved up to his eyes and started to rub at them again.

Rachel looked like a deer in a pair of headlights. She still had her towel wrapped around her thankfully, but she hadn't realized he didn't know it was her. She still could have made the chance to escape... That is, until Garfield had finally finished rubbing at his eyes, and then looked down at her.

'Maybe his eyesight isn't that good in the morning?' Rachel thought hopefully.

The dinner plate wide eyes was a huge indication that his sight was very much still good earlier in the morning.

"What the- Rae!?" He said in surprise and shock.

It was like Rachel finally remembered how to move in that moment. She quickly stood back up off the ground while keeping a hand on her towel. A minor blush was spreading across her cheeks.

'So this is how he was probably feeling a few months ago back in the Tower.' Knowledge said in her mind.

'Knowledge!' Rachel snapped as the embarrassment deepened.

'We need to hide! He can't see us like this!' Timid said embarrassedly.

'Freaking say something already! It's already awkward enough that you aren't talking!' Brave yelled.

'You could just drop the towel and set him into paralyzed shock to run away?'

I'm not sure if that was Love or Lust who suggested that there. All I know was that it finally kicked Rachel into second gear, and probably third or fourth gear.

"You can have the shower now Gar. I'm done." Rachel said quickly before turning around.

Shoom!

A dust cloud in the shape of Rachel was left standing in front of Garfield.

Garfield stared in shock at it. 'What, the, heck?' He thought slowly in disbelief.

'AWHOOOOOO! AW! AW! AWHOOOOOOOOO!' The Beast howled happily inside his mind.

Slam!

The sound of Rachel's door slamming shut echoed through the hall.

Garfield stood in the hallway a moment more, just staring as the dust particles eventually separated back into the air. Then, almost numbly, his feet started to move him towards the bathroom. The towel hung loosely from his hand, and dragged on the floor behind him.

'Dude...' Garfield thought to himself. It was probably likely his brain was overloaded.

'AW! AW! AWHOOOOOOOOOOOO!' The Beast was still howling happily. He probably wouldn't be of much help at the moment. Or the next few moments.

Kckck.

Garfield opened the door to the bathroom. He still looked dazed after doing a few different things he couldn't comprehend in his mental state. Then at last he stepped into the shower.

'I'm going to need a cold shower.' His brain finally thought.

He turned the knob, and cold water started to fall onto his body. Garfield shivered to himself. The cold gave him more of a sense of alertness.

'Okay dude... Everything's cool... you didn't really see all that much... she still had her towel wrapped mostly around her... there wasn't that much to see.' He thought to himself to try and calm himself down...

Except her neck, her shoulders, her legs, and the knowledge that it'd take just one drop of the towel and...'

Garfield set the water to its absolute coldest setting. Garfield crossed his arms in front of him, and did his best to keep his teeth from chattering. Memories of his dream last night interweaved with thoughts of what had just happened in the hallway...

'I swear, this better not take two hours again like the last time this happened.' He thought to himself in frustration.

'AWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!' The Beast howled for joy inside his mind.

An hour later

It was an awkward silence.

It was a very awkward silence.

Garfield and Rachel were approaching each other at the intersection. He was dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans now, and she was dressed in about the same attire as him. Both of them had light blushes on their faces that they couldn't seem to get rid of.

'Dang nab it, why do stupid things keep on happening with us dude!?' Garfield thought embarrassedly to himself.

(Because the readers demand it)

'I thought we were past all of the embarrassment already!' Rachel thought embarrassedly to herself.

(It was never specified what they went through the last three months)

'Why can't things just stay normal for once?!'

(Now that would just leave the author and the readers bored out of their minds)

For once, their counterparts were silent...

The two finally walked into the intersection, and were opposite each other. Both of them, however, were looking at anything but each other.

'That's a pretty big cobweb up there.' Garfield noted as he stared up at the ceiling. 'I wonder what kind of spider managed to weave that.'

'I wonder what kind of mouse burrowed in there.' Rachel thought as she looked at a hole at the bottom of the wall to her right.

The awkward silence stretched on for a moment more...

Garfield put a hand behind his head nervously. "Sooooo, I guess we should go have breakfast then?" Garfield finally asked. He chanced to finally look at Rachel opposite him.

Rachel looked down the other hallway for a moment more. She then took a deep breath to calm herself. "Yes, I think we should." She finally said, before she looked at Garfield with her more normal plain face.

Garfield sighed in relief, and then the two started to walk side by side down the hallway. Things seemed a bit less awkward now...

"Oh, and Rae?" Garfield said as they approached the door to the living room.

"Yes Gar?" Rachel asked plainly.

"I'm... sorry dude about running into you in the hallway earlier." He said kind of quickly.

Well, so much for being awkwardly blunt.

A blush traveled up through Rachel's cheeks again. She gritted her teeth and kept staring ahead. "It's fine. As long as we never talk about it again." Rachel said flatly to him.

Garfield sweat dropped, and chuckled a little nervously as Rachel grabbed the door knob. "Okay Rae. It's already being removed from my memory banks as we speak-" He was saying.

Kckck.

Rachel had opened the door as he spoke, and what they saw instantly made his tongue stop working.

"And then next thing I knew, I was awake in the medical room of the Watchtower without a scratch."

Superman was sitting on the couch, talking happily with his mom about some adventure he had been out on in the universe. His mom, who had looked sad and lonely the night before, was now more alive than the two had ever seen her look before.

"Oh son, I'm glad to know you're still alive and doing well!" Martha said happily after he had finished.

Superman nodded. "And it's great to see that you're still doing well too mom." He said. Superman then hugged his mom to him.

Shove!

Before Garfield could react, he was shoved away from the door back down the hallway. Rachel stood in the doorway with what looked like the best representation of a smiley poker face that she could manage. It was slightly better than the one she had tried for her friends on the day of her last day... well, last day before she became the portal to fulfill ancient prophecy and all that. She didn't know when her last day would be now. Though if she didn't think quickly enough, today could potentially be her last day.

That thought definitely hadn't crossed her mind for this morning.

"Hey Marie. How was your night?" Rachel said in a tone that sounded slightly higher and more upbeat than normal.

Martha looked around Superman at her. Her bright smile was still on her face. "My night has been great. I've gotten to spend most of it talking with my son here." Martha said as she stopped hugging Superman.

Superman turned his head to look at Rachel, and smiled a little at her. "My mom has told me of all the help you and your friend have provided her the last couple weeks. I'm glad to know that she's had such wonderful company."

Rachel smiled brightly (a very, very, very rare occurance that hardly ever happens) and let out a girlish giggle (now we've seen it all). "Oh, you're too kind. It's been our pleasure to help out such a nice sweet lady." Rachel said happily.

Garfield was wide eyed on the ground staring up at Rachel. It was literally taking every fiber of his being to not burst out laughing, or to flee in terror at seeing a member of the Justice League in the house. The thought of pulling out a camera and trying to capture the moment didn't even cross his mind.

Martha continued to smile. "Thank you again for all the help my dear. I hope that you and your boyfriend will have safe travels today." She said brightly.

'Wait, boyfriend?!' Garfield thought.

Rachel didn't even object to the boyfriend comment. She just continued to smile brightly in an awkward sort of way. "And thank you for the hospitality you have given us Marie." Rachel replied.

"Actually, it's Martha. Now that you know who my son is now." She said with a bright warm smile.

"Heheh, yeah..." Rachel giggled kind of nervously for her again.

Kckck.

Rachel closed the door.

Marie looked to Superman. "They really are nice kids Clark." She said happily.

Superman smiled back at his mom as he laid back onto the couch and relaxed. "I only saw one of them, but she looked happy to me." Superman said in a relaxed tone.

'Maybe I should visit my mom more often. Saving the world all the time can really build up a lot of stress.' Superman thought to himself.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Rachel was in her room. She had a small black bag wide open on her bed, and she was throwing all sorts of stuff into it. Bedding, towels, books, everything that was hers was going into the impossibly deep black bag. She didn't, however, throw in any of the clothes that Marie had let her borrow.

I guess pioneer clothes weren't her type.

'Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap.' The thought was repeating over and over again like rapid fire inside her mind.

Kck!

The door to her room slammed open, and she quickly got into a battle stance in the center of her room. She quickly relaxed though when she saw it was only Garfield with a bunch of his stuff in his arms. His towel, clothes, what looked like his drawing book, and a few other things.

"I think that's everything of mine Rae." He said hurriedly as he threw it into her bag.

"A little warning next time Gar. I almost launched a wave of energy at you." Rachel replied as she picked up the rest of her items, which included several notebooks, off the ground.

Garfield finished throwing his stuff in, and looked around Rachel's room. "Is there anything else in here that you need to throw in." He asked in the same hurried voice as before.

Rachel shoved the rest of her items in, and then looked over to the closet. Then to the dresser. Then to her bed. "No, that's everything of mine Gar." She said hurriedly.

Garfield nodded, and then closed the bag. "Alright, just make sure no one's looking." He said as he set the bag on the ground.

Rachel went to the doorway, and stood watch.

At first, it was Garfield standing in the middle of the room. Then he breathed in... and then Garfield was no longer there. It was like he had disappeared...

"Meow..."

Rachel looked down at the ground. A green cat was stretching itself out on the ground where Garfield had been standing.

"Purrr, purrr..." The green feline purred happily as it arched it's back up. A pair of rings was on the ground next to the cat. Rachel looked back out at the hallway again to make sure no one would come.

"Hurry up." She dryly snapped at the cat.

The green cat finished its stretching, and then gave Rachel a glare. Rachel turned from the hallway and glared back. "Now." She said flatly.

The cat picked up the rings off the ground with it's teeth. Then it hopped over next to the black bag and rubbed itself up against it.

Almost immediately, Garfield appeared standing in his spot again. He had his rings back on, and the bag was no longer in sight. "Sorry I couldn't help it. It's been a long time since I've been able to use my powers to stretch myself out." Garfield said almost lowly.

"I've heard Superman has X-Ray vision. What if he saw you turn into a cat?" Rachel asked.

"Well he's supposed to have super hearing. But I haven't heard him come flying down the hallway yet to fight us dude..." Garfield didn't finish his sentence.

Rachel rolled her eyes, and walked back out into the hallway. "Freaking little stubborn dork..." She muttered to herself.

Garfield followed along behind her. He had a wide smile on his normal face. "You know Rae, I still don't understand what the odds would be of us staying with the mom of Superman for a few weeks." He said.

Rachel groaned to herself. "The odds are so unlikely, I should try buying three lottery tickets and get struck by lightning twice in shark infested waters to even it back out." She muttered sarcastically to herself.

The odds were so unlikely, the author tried to look it up. The error message he got on his screen likely told him the odds were astronomically impossible. Fortunately, these two were all about doing the impossible. Now, if only they could control it to work to their advantage.

Kckckck.

Rachel opened the door to the living room, and the two of them walked out. Superman was already standing by the door, and his mom was at the kitchen. She looked to be getting ready to cut up an onion for something.

"See ya Marie, I mean Martha! We'll be heading off now!" Garfield called to her as they walked towards the door.

Martha looked up from what she was doing. "Are you two sure you wouldn't want to stay for lunch? I didn't see you two have any breakfast this morning." Martha said.

Rachel smiled the best smile she could manage without looking stressed by the fact that Superman was standing nearby. "Sorry, but we realized we're going to be late to where we need to go next. But we appreciate everything you did for us." Rachel said almost happily to her.

Martha sighed. "Oh well then, hope you two have a safe trip." She said as she raised her cutting knife up.

Chop!

Marie sliced the onion on her board in two.

'That's what'll happen to us if Superman discovers who we are!' Beast Boy thought fearfully.

Garfield and Rachel were almost to the front door, when Superman stepped out in front of them. The two stopped, and looked up at him.

'Oh dude, one burst of his laser eyes and we're goners!' Garfield thought fearfully to himself.

'I really hope he doesn't have X-Ray vision. I really, seriously hope he doesn't have X-Ray vision.' Rachel thought to herself.

Superman smiled slightly as he saw the two teenagers below him break out in a nervous sweat. 'Teenagers can be pretty funny sometimes when they don't know how to react around a superhero.' He thought to himself.

He didn't seem to realize just why the two were so nervous.

"Thanks again for all the help you've given my mom." Superman told them.

Garfield almost eeped in fear when Superman spoke, but he luckily caught himself just in time. "No problem, um, dude?" Garfield said in a nervous tone while offering his hand.

"You're really lucky to have someone as nice as her." Rachel quickly added.

Superman chuckled, shook their hands, and opened the door behind him. "Alright. I hope you two stay safe on your 'trip.'" He said more cheerfully than before.

Garfield and Rachel almost looked to each other. They were so nervous, yet a little relieved.

"Thanks again. Good luck with saving the world and everything." Rachel said in what she hoped was a grateful tone.

"Can I get your autograph-" Garfield suddenly blurted out.

Rachel slapped her hand over his mouth. "No, we aren't going to bug Superman for an autograph Gar." She almost snapped at him as she walked the two of them out normally.

"Sorry." He said to her like a wounded puppy.

Superman chuckled a little as the two walked off the front porch, and on down to the dirt road that led to the small town of Smallville, Kansas. "Good luck out there! Stay safe!" Superman called after them.

The two turned to face Superman, and waved at him before continuing on. Superman waved back, and watched as the two turned around to walk up the road. Then Superman turned around.

Kckckck.

He closed the door behind him. "You're right mom. They were nice kids." He said as he went to sit down.

Martha sighed happily. She had tears running down her face... which might have been because of the onion she had cut up. "Yes... I just wish that they would have at least eaten something before they left though. Those poor things looked wasted away when they appeared on my doorstep a month or so ago." She said.

Superman stopped. He put his hand to his chin in thought. "Maybe I should see if they'd like some of the leftovers from breakfast to take with them." Superman said.

"That would be nice of you dear." Martha replied.

He quickly opened the fridge, grabbed a couple containers, and flew to the door.

Kckckck.

He opened the door. "Hey-" He started to call out.

Then he stopped.

The flat dirt road was bare. Besides a dust brush that rolled across the road. Garfield and Rachel were no where in sight.

Superman narrowed his eyes and looked around with his superior vision... Nothing. The two were simply gone...

"That's odd... I could have sworn they left just a minute ago..." Superman said to himself.

Superman looked lost in thought for a few seconds... then the sound of Martha's cheerful humming in the kitchen caught his attention.

"Hey mom, did you know much about those two teens?" He asked.

Martha shrugged as she pulled out some celery sticks from a bag. "They seemed nice enough to me, but they did keep to themselves a lot. I guess they went through a lot recently that they didn't feel keen on talking about." She said offhandedly as she set the celery on the cutting board.

Superman put his hand to his chin. "Do you happen to know where they're going next?" He asked.

"They didn't really go into too much detail about their trip. I do think I overheard them once saying that they were going to stop by one of the grocery stores in town before they went on." Martha said.

Superman looked back out at the road again. His gaze looked slightly harder than before. "I'll be back. I need to go and check something." Superman said almost to himself.

Martha set her knife down. "What did you say Clark-" She was saying as she turned around.

Whoosh!

The door was still wide open. Superman had already disappeared though.

Martha rolled her eyes. "There goes my son, off to save the world again." She said to herself, before she turned back to her cutting board in front of her.

"Well, I guess there's only one thing to do now." She said, before she picked up her knife again.

Chop! Chop! Chop!

Martha got to chopping the celery on the board into small pieces. Each chop slowly made the rest of the world and what had happened fade away back into normalcy...

Yeah, I'm going to be evil and leave it here for over a week. Just so I can watch you all suffer and squirm in your seats as you wait to see what happens next. *Deep seated cackling from the author* Well, until then...
