neslykoki: I already sent you a reply over PM for the first part. It's interesting you say what you did there, because, well, you'll have to read on ahead to find out now, won't you? ;)
frog31791: We're about to find out.
Eris: We'll see.
Golem XIV: Hope you haven't let your guard down yet my friend. Here's to one of the chapters I've been looking forward to for a long while.
Azarath Cat: Yeah, that's very understandable. I've seen many a fanfic like that. I've written that portrayal a couple of times myself. But I thought it'd be nice for this one to have a nicer portrayal of him (with some obvious prodding from Rita in the background).
Scarease: Sorry to say this, but spoilers!
BrutaLeeHonest: Already replied to you via PM. Again for the record, thanks for the constructive criticism. I'll include those in the final clean up of errors hopefully in the near future.
Sanzojoe: I can't remember how I did it back then. That was more than ten minutes ago. I'm glad you liked it though!
WarpCrazy: Ahhhh, the wonderful feeling I get when I get to say this in a reply. Spoilers!
FanficsOP: Wow, thank you dude! I'm glad you've been enjoying it (and by the sounds of it, some of my other fics as well)! Hope you enjoy the chapter!
Pixel-Pie02: Man you're totally okay. Back to back work can be a pain. And don't worry about it. I have a long list of other shows I'm going to see before Fairy Tail so you have plenty of time. I just hope you really enjoy the chapter!

Chapter Forty-Four: The Reason for the Drawing
The view showed a hallway with several other branching off hallways lit up by flashing blue klaxons.
"Twenty-eight minutes to base self-destruct!" The A.I. of the base blared out to the base.
Boom! Boom!
The sound was from two of the hallways that got blocked off by thick metal doors.
"Quick! This way!"
The figure of Rose appeared running quickly from around the corner of the last hallway. She had her katanas sheathed on her back. Raven appeared running around the corner behind her. She had black specks of energy coming in a constant stream off of her. A green wolf followed right behind her. The wolf stayed a couple of paces back and made sure that no one was following them from behind. So far they hadn't meant any of the other heroes that were fleeing the scene.
Boom!
A thick steel door came down over the hallway they had just run out from.
Boom! Boom!
The group of heroes ran past hallway after hallway that got cut off by the thick steel plated doors.
"How do you know where we're going? This whole base looks the same to me." Raven blandly asked.
"My gift of foresight helps a lot with that," Rose replied.
…
"… and I might have also memorized the plans for this place behind Mento's back while I was waiting for you two to arrive," Rose added.
"Just like a daughter of Slade." Raven finally blandly responded.
The green wolf morphed into a running Beast Boy. "Wait a second dude! I thought Mento said this place was top secret! How the heck did you find plans for it?!" He asked before morphing back into a wolf.
Rose smirked. "My dad has his ways of obtaining information. I learned a few of them." She said.
"I'm sure he does," Raven said blandly.
The three of them approached another intersection.
"Left!" Rose ordered.
The group ran down the left way. "Didn't you say we were going to go right earlier-" Raven was starting to ask.
Boom!
An explosion happened on the opposite end of the hallway that they would have turned down. It looked like a hero, maybe Cyborg had managed to bust his way down from the factory up above. "Gift of foresight goth girl. We're fortunate that there's more than one hallway on our way to our destination." Rose simply stated before she turned down another intersection.
Boom! Boom!
The hallways and explosion area behind them were sealed off by thick metal doors. Raven and the green wolf continued to follow behind Rose.
Boom!
The entrance to the hallway behind them was blocked off by another thick metal door. There were no other intersections in sight as they ran down the long metal hallway.
"So your dad said you'd fill us in on the rest of the details?" Raven asked.
"Yes. Now my dad said he doesn't know which member of the Light is after you. But me personally, I think I have an idea. Do you happen to know who Klarion the Witchboy is?" Rose asked.
Raven shook her head. "I've never heard of him before. Is he one of the members of this group called the Light?" She asked.
Rose nodded. "Yes. I hear he likes to dabble in evil sorceries and the like. I'm still not entirely sure since there's also Ra's Al Ghul and a couple other candidates, but I have a feeling he's the best bet as to who could be behind the whole scheme." Rose said.
"Why is that?" Raven asked.
"Because of all the chaos this whole event has caused," Rose responded. "Think of it as looking into a large pool of water. From the reflection it gives I can foresee and predict pretty large events that'll happen in the future along with short glances at events that'll happen in the next moment or two. Yet, for some reason, it's like somebodies muddied the water in the area where I'd see the whole scheme revolving around you two. The only villain I know of that would have the power to interfere with matters involving hiding the future would be Klarion…" She then shrugged. "I could be wrong though. It's happened to me before." Rose said.
If the two showed any sign of understanding as to how her powers worked, it was very minimal. Both mentally decided to not ask. "So how about the dealeo involving us getting across that tracker barrier then? I remember Slade also mentioning that?" Beast Boy asked as he turned back to his human form again.
"I don't have enough time to explain that part, so I'll be leaving that up to my dad when you see him," Rose said.
Raven looked slightly troubled by that statement but didn't say anything to reply.
The next intersection finally came into sight. The three of them were fast approaching it. "Stop now!" Rose said quickly as she forced herself to stop.
"Aren't we like supposed to be running since the base is going into lockdown mode-" Beast Boy started to ask.
Boom! Kththth!
The ceiling in front of the intersection exploded downwards. "Eep!" Beast Boy eeped before he stopped and turned into a green turtle out of instinct to protect himself.
As the dust cleared, the angry form of Starfire started to descend through the hole she had made. "There you are-" She started to snarl angrily.
Thmmm! Pbthththththth!
At that moment, four laser turrets poked out from the walls and started to fire on Starfire from the four corners of the intersection. Starfire growled in annoyance and put her arms in front of her face to protect it from the lasers. "The traitor Blue Beetle! He will do the paying for the ruining of my hair!" She screeched angrily.
The lasers, though they were only leaving faint marks on her skin, did leave patches of burnt hair in her long hair. It looked like it would be a nightmare to try and comb all the knots out and everything from that.
Rose turned to Raven and thrust a piece of paper into her hands. "The rest of what I was going to say is on that paper. Go straight, then take a right, then a left and you'll get to the emergency Zeta Tube room. Your identification should already be in the system. Run quick, or else you'll get sealed out of it and have something a lot worse to deal with." Rose said quickly before she unsheathed a katana.
Beast Boy morphed back into a human and looked down at the note in Raven's hands in surprise. Then he looked back up at Rose. "Just how much of this did you foresee anyways dude?!" He asked.
Rose shrugged as she took out her other katana. "Oh, I saw enough to plan for events like this." She said with a knowing smirk on her face.
It would have sounded like utter bull crap to the two if it hadn't been for the ten or so things she had predicted since before the whole mess had started.
"Urgh!" Starfire growled in fury.
Ksch! Ksch! Boom! Boom!
Two eye beams struck two of the four turrets, causing them to explode. "We'll meet again Titans. Now, go!" Rose ordered, before she ran at Starfire with her two katanas.
Ksch! Boom!
Starfire angrily threw a mega starbolt at the last two turrets, engulfing them in her green colored fury. The remains of the two turrets melted under the heat of the blast. Starfire then turned to face the three again.
Pow!
Rose's steel-toed boots slammed into Starfire's face and sent her flying into a wall. Rose landed lithely from her backflip off Starfire's face onto the ground and took on an attack pose with her two katanas. "Come at me you alien whore! I'll show you a dance move or two for ruining the party!" Rose taunted her.
Starfire angrily got back up. "How dare you do the calling of an alien princess by such a sick earthly term!" She screeched in anger.
"I'm just surprised that Batboy finds anything of interest in you since you could snap him like a twig." Rose taunted before she charged forward.
Ksch! Ksch! Ksch! Ksch!
Rose dodged starbolt after starbolt as she got closer to Starfire, who was throwing energy out of sheer anger at Rose. "The least I can do is help you with that ugly hairdo of yours!" Rose yelled.
Slash!
One of her katanas cut off a surprising amount of Starfire's alien hair as she ran past her. "Ahhhhhh!" Starfire screamed in fury before she chased Rose down the intersection one way.
On the bright side, she wouldn't have to comb out all the laser scorch marks after all. Plus, she was now entirely focused on the daughter of Slade.
BOOM!
On the downside, she now looked intent on killing Rose Wilson, who barely managed to avoid being roasted by a set of mega eyebeams. "Wow, your aim is almost as bad as your breath. What do you do, drink mustard?" Rose taunted.
"Aughhhh!" Starfire yelled in fury again.
Raven by this point had stuffed the note in her pocket and grabbed Beast Boy by the hand. "Come on. Let's go while she's distracted." She said.
Beast Boy said nothing. He looked rather shocked at seeing his former friend look so vengeful. They ran past the fight. Rose had Starfire so distracted that she didn't even hear Beast Boy and Raven run by behind them.
"I'll do the hurting of you! You'll be nothing but mush when I'm done with you!" Starfire screeched in fury behind them.
"You can try alien bitch! I bet you won't even land a hit on me!" Rose yelled.
BOOM! Slash! Boom! Boom!
Boom!
The rapidly escalating fight was cut off behind Raven and Beast Boy's backs by another thick metal door and left behind altogether as they turned down another intersection.
Boom! Boom!
More doors came down blocking the way back.
Boom…Boom…Boom…
The sounds from the fight still resonated through the metal walls.
It was almost unbelievable. Moments ago, it had felt like they had all the support in the world… and now they were all alone again. Running for their lives in a place they didn't really know all that well as the base locked itself down in preparation for it self destructing.
'I hope the others make it out safe.' Raven thought to herself.
'How could we leave them. They have more to lose than us if any of them are caught.' Beast Boy thought sadly.
For once, their thoughts weren't on themselves making it out okay. They were more worried about if their friends would be okay or not.
'Is there really no way for us to keep those who we care about out of harm's way?' Raven thought.
Her friends in the Teen Titans had been turned against them. The members of the Justice League were hunting them. Now, those who had wanted to help them were fleeing for their lives. Unlike them, if they were caught, they'd have much more to lose. Family, friends, loved ones, a reputation, a team, freedom…
Raven looked to Beast Boy. All the brightness, all the happiness and good feeling he'd had before were gone. Replaced with that foul tasting darkness and bitterness.
'It's… it's all my fault.' Raven bitterly realized.
…
After a little bit of running, and one last turn, they ran down one last hallway. The door at the end was open. The thick metal door hadn't descended from the ceiling yet to seal the room off.
"There it is!" Beast Boy said excitedly. He pumped his legs even harder.
They ran out the doorway into the large room.
BOOM!
The doorway was sealed shut behind them right after they had entered.
They had made it… the two of them stopped shortly after that at the sight in front of them.
"Whoa." Beast Boy said in awe.
The room in front of them was empty for the most part. The white concrete walls were painted a blue color from the klaxons on the wall counting down to the self-destruction of the base. There were a few crates lying here and there on the ground. However, the main thing that caught their attention was at the other end of the football field long room. Connected into the cement wall was a large round green Zeta Tube with the Doom Patrol logo above it. Their way out and away from this whole mess.
"Dude, this is sick! I've always wanted to go into one of these things! I've heard it's literally like being beamed around in Star Trek!" Beast Boy said as he started running excitedly forward towards the Zeta Tube. Towards the way to freedom.
Raven started to jog along behind him, but then she slowed back down to a stop a few dozen feet into the room. She looked back the way they had come. The way that led to captivity and terror.
"Twenty-five minutes to self-destruction." The A.I. for the base said.
Raven could tell the door and the room was warded to keep portals from forming in the room, just like the rest of the base… yet she was still staring at it. Pondering something major in her mind. Something that had slowly been creeping up on her after everything that had happened…
'I could end it. No one else would have to suffer for me… he wouldn't have to feel so dark dealing with me.' Black sparks started to fly off her cloak more abundantly at the thought.
"Raven, what are you waiting for?!" Beast Boy yelled excitedly up ahead.
Raven turned her head back around. Beast Boy had run about halfway across the length of the room. He had stopped though and was looking back at her.
Raven took in a deep breath. More sparks started to come off her cloak as she pondered on her words. "Just go ahead, Garfield. I'll catch up in a moment." She lied blandly.
Beast Boy didn't go on. Instead, he started to jog back towards Raven. He must have noticed something was going on in her mind. "Rae, what's going on?" He asked as he got close again. He looked concerned and worried for her.
Raven grabbed the note from her pocket and gave it to him when he had approached. He looked down in surprise at it, and then back up to her. "Why are you giving me this Rae? What's going on with you?" He asked.
She grabbed her hood and shook her head. She could still feel the darkness radiating off his psyche. The darkness that she knew she was causing to him. "I can't say. I'm barely keeping my powers under control as it is Garfield." Raven said tiredly. The black specks of energy coming off of Raven were starting to grow.
Beast Boy put the note in his pocket. "Rae, I've been noticing those black specks coming off you since we left the car. Please, what's going on? Is it about what happened earlier today?" He asked worriedly.
Raven turned away. She could sense that darkness growing in him. The darkness that was all her fault. She couldn't even bring herself to forgive him. She wanted to be his friend, yet she couldn't. And for some reason that was hurting him even more than it was hurting her.
"I already said I can't talk about it." She said again in a more snappish voice.
"Rae, if you keep it bottled in, then-" Beast Boy started to say thinking it was about what had happened earlier that day.
"It's because I can't take it anymore, OKAY!" Raven finally yelled in anger at him.
Boom!
An explosion was heard in the distance. Beast Boy, however, was more shocked at her anger and the amount of energy coming off of her than because of the explosion.
Her hood was thrown back, and her hair was engulfed in her ethereal powers. She would have looked to be seconds away from going full-on red, but she wasn't going to go red. Rage had no part in what was happening. It was full on Raven, without her damaged walls up anymore to hide her from the world. She had finally wandered away from her calm state and was showing all her feelings of insecurity, of guilt, of shame, and everything else negative that could possibly be going through her at that moment for everything they had to go through together.
And to her, it was all her fault.
"Can't you see this Beast Boy!? I've been slowly losing control of my emotions! Not just since today or a few days ago, but ever since we left Titan's Tower because of everything that's been going on! I thought eventually that I'd have it all under control, I thought everything would be okay, but I can't TAKE it anymore! I'm not just becoming a danger to myself, but I'm a danger to everyone around me!" Raven yelled in a crying fury.
Beast Boy, despite seeing the terrible display in front of him, stood his ground. "So you're saying you told me to go ahead just so we could be separated?! So you would like somehow keep me safe from your emotions by going a different way!? Is that what you're saying?!" Beast Boy asked incredulously.
"Yes!" She screamed. "We're both coming apart the longer we're together! We're both coming undone from all this stress! If we split up, then maybe we'll be able to get a better handle on things! Maybe we'll be able to avoid the Justice League for long enough to outlast whoever's after us!"
Beast Boy's face scrunched up in anger. "Dude! I'm coming apart, but it's for different reasons than what you're thinking!" He yelled back while pointing an accusing finger at her.
Raven laughed at that. It wasn't a calm laugh like what she usually did, neither was it a carefree sort of laugh either. It was rather more like she was going bonkers, which she was at that moment. She could recognize now why Knowledge had laughed like this to her in her mind. 'He'd say that to me when I can sense the darkness of depression burrowed in his soul! How naive can he possibly get!?'
"Oh please, is it because you don't have any of those stupid games to play with anymore Beast Boy!? Are those stupid little games why you're so depressed!? Because I could totally see that happening to someone as immature as you!" She angrily yelled.
Beast Boy took a step back in shock at that. He knew better than to deny that inwardly he was depressed. But for Raven to assume it was over something so trivial. "Dude! What the heck are you talking about!? I haven't even mentioned games in the past month-" Beast Boy started to yell angrily.
"How about when we faced down Terra then! Huh! I'm sure you must be coming apart at the seams from the memory of me having to take down that stupid blonde bitch!" Raven yelled at him.
Beast Boy's face hardened. It was like she was trying to make him angry. And unfortunately, it was working. His depression and anger joined hands for a fiery emotional cocktail of words.
"Oh yeah, well I bet you're still stinging that you had to leave your fake book boyfriend in that stupid chest back at the Tower!" Beast Boy replied back.
Raven looked like she'd been slapped by those words. "Don't you dare mention him!" Raven yelled in anger. Her black energy pulsing off her in waves.
"Or maybe," Beast Boy approached her with a primal glare of anger on his face. "You're just mad because you realize despite having such a cold outer shell, you want to open up to everyone and anyone who shows the littlest bit that they care about you! Only, you get burned every time when they use you and turn against you! Just like our friends, just like Malchior; and just like that unfeeling stupid monk you considered your friend!" Beast Boy yelled angrily to her face.
Raven took his challenge and got face to face with him. Their faces only inches apart. "How dare you bring up that memory you green idiot!" She yelled.
"Better a green idiot than a creepy pale goth girl!" Beast Boy yelled back.
"At least I don't look like an elf that has the intelligence of an ape!"
"Says the demoness who makes falling gravel sound better!"
"You stupid!-"
"Selfish!-"
"-Useless!-"
"-Little!-"
"-Animal!"
"-Bitch!"
The two of them continued to yell at each other's faces. They were in the eye of a field of black ethereal energy. Raven's eyes were turning a darker and darker black from her powers, though she had tears running down her face. Beast Boy also had tears coming down his face, but he still looked as fierce as a lion. He was not backing down from this challenge. They both had a lot of pent up anger and frustration that had to come out. Anger and frustration that had been building up for a long time. Possibly since even the early days of the team being formed.
Both halves in their minds were silent. The emoticlones watched over their small, small connection to Raven's mind. The Beast poked his head slightly out of the den in Beast Boy's mind. Neither Raven's emotions or the Beast dared to intervene. They couldn't have intervened either. This was something that had to be settled between Beast Boy and Raven, and only them. Even if it meant them arguing with each other, bringing up the worst possible things about each other. Insulting each other's various aspects and personality fragments that made up the glaring differences, and the glaring similarities alongside those differences that made them so unique.
It could only go for so long though before one of them finally snapped. "You know what! I do hate you!" Raven yelled.
Beast Boy blinked in surprise, and he finally stopped in his rant. "What?" He asked in shock.
Raven had tears flying down her face. "I hate you! I hate everything about you! I hate your drawings, I hate your games, I hate your pranks and immaturity… I just, I hate you!"
Beast Boy didn't reply. He kind of stood there slack-jawed. It was like hearing his own words of a few days ago being thrown back into his face.
"Just, leave me here and go!" Raven said as she turned away from him. "We'd both be better off that way." She muttered quietly at the end.
"Twenty-two minutes to self-destruction." The A.I. said.
It had only been three minutes. Three very long tense minutes.
Beast Boy blinked again, then he turned his head to the side. He appeared to be thinking. Raven was taking in deep sharp breathes, waiting for his response. Waiting for him to turn around, and to leave her to be captured. It was like torture. With him so close, and with her being able to feel the swirl of emotions revolving around his psyche.
'At least he'll be free. They'll be satisfied taking me, and he'll be free.' Raven thought sadly.
Beast Boy was silent a moment more… he shook his head. Just like that, Raven sensed his emotions disappear entirely. "I know what you're really trying to do here Rae." He said in a calm voice. As calm as his soul now felt.
Raven blinked this time. "What?" She asked as she turned to face him again. She couldn't even sense the darkness from before, and his whole emotional shift had taken her by surprise.
"I knew what you were trying to do the whole time." He said before he looked at her. "You're just trying to drive me away so I'll be safe. Then when I've left, you'll either wait here and turn yourself in, or let yourself go up in the base's self-destruct so this whole mess will end." He said calmly.
*Gasp!*
She couldn't help the gasp of surprise that escaped her lips. He had guessed her intentions exactly. 'How did he-' She started to think.
"Rae, I'm not a total idiot." One of his hands gripped hers. "And I'm not going to let you be a total idiot either." He said firmly. "I might have said some stuff there, and I'm sorry. But one thing I know for sure about you is that you're not dumb Raven. You know deep down if you turn yourself in, that they won't be satisfied until they've captured me and the others too. And if you were to die..." Tears appeared in his eyes again.
The black in Raven's eyes disappeared. The storm of energy around them started to slow. Only to be fueled by her other emotions. Shame for trying to push him away so cruelly, sadness for the things she'd said out of anger and making him cry, relief that even with all that she'd said that he was still willing and wanting to stay by her side… and confusion at why he was so willing to stay with her, despite everything.
"If you don't want to leave me Gar, then why did you say all those things?... why didn't you call me out on my insults? Why did you join in on my charade? Why would you want to knowingly stay with someone like me if you know everything bad about me? Why?!" She asked, the begging mixed with the tears evidenced on her face and in her tone.
Beast Boy took a deep breath. "Rae, to be honest, I don't think I know everything bad about you."
'Ouch.' Raven thought to herself. That comment stung more than everything else he had said to her.
"And you don't know everything bad about me either dude." He continued almost unsurely as if he was really thinking about his words.
Raven focused on him more then. Beast Boy normally wasn't one to be deep, but when he was, you paid attention.
He sighed. His hand gave her hands a comforting squeeze. "Rae… I'll admit part of why I made those drawings were because of puberty and my imagination getting the better of me. But it was more than that… I wanted more than just those drawings of you being naked…"
He drew in a sharp breath. "I also wanted to draw you on Titan's Tower, meditating in the light of a beautiful sunset. I wanted to draw you on a farm, sitting on a post while watching the sun come over the horizon. I wanted to draw you lying on your back in a meadow, with the wind messing with your hair… I wanted to draw the time when Malchior broke your heart when I saw you alone in your room. I wanted to draw you on the day you had lost hope of escaping your prophecy. I even wanted to draw you having one of your Rage temper tantrums with Doctor Light." Beast Boy listed off. Squeezing in a little joke at the end that made him chuckle with melancholy.
Raven blinked as she recognized each drawing she had looked at in his drawing book. After finding her shower drawing, she had taken the time to look through the rest of it for more incriminating drawings. And when she saw the ones he had been listing back then, she had merely shrugged it off in the midst of her anger. Now, she was realizing that even though he had torn them all up, he could still recall each picture he had drawn clearly. And it wasn't just the bad ones, it was all of them.
"I wanted to capture everything about you Raven. The good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between. I wanted to capture all of you." He said with emotion evident in his tone.
Raven could finally sense cracks appearing in his emotional facade. Cracks that were hiding something underneath. Something that left her speechless as she waited for Beast Boy to finish.
"And I did it… because… because…" Beast Boy tried to say.
'… I guess there's no going back now… I hope you're right dad.' He thought to himself.
He opened his eyes and faced Raven again. He finally let his own internal emotional barriers down.
"Because I love you."
…
A pin drop could have been heard in the distance. All the power, just like that, disappeared from the air. Not even a single black spark was coming off of Raven anymore. She wasn't even wide-eyed. It was like all the pieces in a puzzle had finally connected in her mind. His words, mixed with his emotions that were directed right at her. Her, of all people.
Beast Boy hung his head, but his hand still kept its grip hers. "I'm sorry about what happened in the mountains, I'm sorry about the bad drawings, I'm sorry about a lot of things. I'm especially sorry for bringing up all those horrible things about you just now. But I do care about you Rae. I didn't want you to stubbornly sacrifice yourself hoping it'd fix everything. And I don't want to see you die. I, like, want to see you happy and free to live in the world. I want us to make it back to our normal friends again. I want to protect you even if you don't need my protection..."
His other hand placed itself on top of her shoulder as he gave her the most serious face he had. "I'm with you through both the good and the bad. And that's why I don't want to leave you, Rae. I'd give everything for you in a heartbeat. I love you." He confessed.
Raven could not deny the sincerity she saw in his eyes. Nor in his emotional psyche. The way he described it, it wasn't like some passing crush. It was real, and he felt it... He was right about what he'd said before. That simple statement really did change everything. "That's my answer, Raven… Could you please forgive me, and come with me?" He asked.
She was silent. She could see the sincerity, she could feel it coming off him. A part of her wanted to hug him, another part of her wanted to slap him. And the rest of her wasn't sure on what to do…
"Gar, I… I…" Raven tried to find the words. She didn't know if words could capture what she wanted to say. She didn't even think she knew herself well enough to know if she felt anything of the way he felt towards her or not. She was at a loss.
…
Boom!
The two snapped out of their moment and turned in surprise towards the steel doorway behind them. A good fist-sized dent had appeared in the middle of it.
"Was that there before?" Beast Boy asked.
Boom! Boom!
Two more dents appeared in the sides of the doorway. Beast Boy and Raven took a couple of steps back. A sense of foreboding went down Raven's spine. "I think we might have missed our opportunity to escape Gar," Raven said in a bland tone that failed to disguise her growing fear.
Yeah, having a loud explosive argument like that before escaping. It probably hadn't been their best idea.
They managed to back up only a few more steps.
BOOM! THUMP!
One last blow finally knocked the door off of its hinges. Beast Boy and Raven dove down to the ground as the large heavy door flew over their heads and landed hard on the ground several dozen feet behind them. The two of them looked back up after the door had landed, and saw who had hit the door away.
Superman lowered his clenched fist and walked calmly into the room.
Thmmm! Pbthththth!
Several turrets poked out from the floor in front of him and started to fire at him.
Ksssss!
Superman calmly cleared the turrets away with his heat vision as easily as one would crush an ant underfoot. He then cracked his knuckles together as he passed the remains of the turrets and approached the two heroes. "It's about time I put an end to this wild goose chase." He said sternly.
The two of them got up at the same time. '****!' They both thought.
The two of them wished at that moment that they hadn't wasted so much of their time arguing with each other.
Author's Notes:
So… how's this for a middle finger cliffhanger Mr. Ursine? And as for the rest of you, who wielded the evil cliffhanger better; Slade, Superman, the Author, or other?
