I know, somewhat shorter chapter, and it's been over two weeks. Blame college for that. :)
Mailbox Time!
TheAlienHeart: I guess I did leave you all hanging for like... three years I guess. Don't worry, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this chapter at all... other than the fact that it took me another two weeks to get it out.
ANTI REAPER: *Hands over a box of tissues* Just in case you cry some more this one.
VoodooClown17: Rude and Rage are like my favorite emoticlones to use in this. Especially Rude. As to the idea of two endings, this is a story I think where one ending would be for the best. I have done it before though!
Golem XIV: I just wanted to go for the perfect mix of evil and mercy. I debated on posting the first part, and then posting the 2nd part like two days later. But then decided to be nice.
FanficsOP: Yeah, my rein of evil is over... for now.
walleedziad1970: Thank you, man! I hope this chapter keeps you smiling!
Pixel-Pie02: Dude, I'm glad this chapter made you happy :). Sorry for the two-week delay, but I'll be looking forward to hearing more from you. Keep on smiling!
dld51: Let's hear you say that after this chapter.
neslykoki: Well... fetch. That's a comment I wasn't expecting after translation. I hope the peace lasts a long time!
SteinMon1920518: I don't know if the repetition is on purpose, because I know I've been trying different dialogue options I learned from watching Rising of the Shield Hero. If it wasn't from dialoguing, sorry about that. I'll do my best to look for those errors in the future. Otherwise, glad you enjoyed it! But I won't apologize for the teasing!
Mr. Ursine: Turns out, everything from the last couple of chapters was just a dream in the mind of Beast Boy. In reality, the Beast was easily taken down by Superman, and now he wakes up and he and Raven are about to be exiled to Outer Perdition. (All said jokingly of course) I'm not that cruel and sadistic. Nah, I'm putting the cruelty aside for a good bit. You readers deserve it.
frog31791: Indeed, it was about time for it to happen.
catholicjedi32: Thanks dude or dudette. Hope you continue to love it!
WarpCrazy: Hey, don't go insulting the author now. He holds all the power in this story (Gives the stink eye). I had an idea where I wanted Rude to just insult the author. And in writing this part out a while back, it just came so naturally. Glad you enjoyed the fluff! Here's some more!
Nampayo: I won't spoil the question you have about them becoming Titans again. Although I am curious about your suggestion. I hope you're not meaning using the bond between them in a romantic sense (sorry, I've just seen too many people who think that's a good enough excuse for them to get together, and in case you haven't looked at my profile or checked my other stories, I'm not exactly the type of person who writes RobRae). If that isn't the case though, I can work it in.

Wonderful Disclaimer: Warning, fluff ahead! (Also, I don't own it)
Chapter Forty-Nine: The Morning After
"Hmmm…"
Raven hummed to herself. She was resting back on a white couch. She held an open book in front of her face. She was dressed in normal clothes, and behind her book her face looked completely relaxed.
'This is nice…' Raven thought as her eyes glossed over the book. 'I'm glad Nightwing gave us the day off. It's not every day I can sit back and relax with a good book like this...'
…
'Huh?'
Raven felt something soft and small poke one of her hands. "Mommy?" A high pitched voice on the verge of crying said on the other side of her book.
Raven lowered her book an inch to look over the edge of it, and then she sat up. 'Here we go again.' Raven thought as she closed her book.
She looked back down at the little pale green-skinned boy in front of her. "What's wrong Mark?" Raven asked in a softer tone of voice.
The little green boy sniffed and wiped a tear from one of his eyes. "Lydia and Mar'i are being mean to me again mommy." He sniffled.
Raven set her book down beside her. "There there. Come to mommy." She said as she picked him up and set him on one of her legs.
The little boy rested his head against his mom's shoulder and sniffed again into it.
Raven planted a soft kiss to his forehead and rocked him on her leg for a moment.
For a five-year-old, he was still small. She had no doubt that he'd grow to be as tall as his dad though. Especially since he took a lot after him. He had the green hair, the mischievous grin that was normally on his face when his older sister wasn't bullying him, and many other aspects he had gotten from his father.
After a moment, Raven didn't hear any more sniffles. "There, do you feel better now Mark?" Raven asked him.
Little Mark pulled his head away from his mom's shoulder. "Yes, mommy," Mark said a little more happily. He flashed her a familiar toothy smile. He was missing a tooth in one spot, but it looked like his adult fang was beginning to poke out from his gums.
Raven gave Mark a small smile. 'I was kind of hoping he wouldn't get that from his father. But at least he has my eyes.' She thought as he stared into his sparkling purple eyes.
"Good." She picked him back up off her now somewhat sore leg and set his feet on the floor again. "Just remember what to do when your sister and cousin are being mean to you again Mark." She said before she looked away to grab her book.
"Hmmm… I know! I'll prank them just like Uncle Vic says to do! Thanks, mommy!" Mark yelled excitedly before he ran off. The mischievous grin was back on his face as plans for ruining his older sister's day swarmed his little young mind.
Raven had been about to lay back down when Mark yelled his comment. She immediately sat back up and looked over the edge of the couch. "No! That's what your dad says-"
Mark had already run out one of the doorways to the room. "Urgh." Raven groaned in frustration as she did a light facepalm.
Speaking of dad, a larger mass that had been resting on the other side of the couch cuddled up next to her at that moment. "Is something wrong Rae Rae?" A familiar, yet somewhat deeper more mature voice asked.
Raven glared at the smiling green mass next to her. "You know it's likely that I'm going to have to clean up another one of his messes after this, right Gar?" She asked dryly.
Beast Boy planted a few kisses along her arm. "And I'm sure *kiss* you'll be able to *kiss* handle it just *kiss* as well as you *kiss* just did there *kiss* hot momma." He said grinningly as he kissed up her pale arm.
Raven rolled her eyes. "Please. Knowing them it'll probably be the warm-up for the rest of what my day today is going to be like thanks to you- *gasp*"
Beast Boy planted a kiss on the sensitive part of her neck, and Raven immediately gasped. "Gar, I swear if you're trying to distract me again-" Raven tried to speak again.
Beast Boy gently placed his lips lovingly on hers, cutting her off. Raven's eyes widened in surprise at the action, but then she melted into his lips. Just like every other time he did this…
…
After a moment, Beast Boy finally released her lips. He smiled at the dream-like look that was in her eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about Rae." He said in jest.
It took Raven a few seconds to realize what had just happened. When it finally clicked through, she groaned to herself and raised her book to her face again. 'How the heck is he able to do that every darn time! It makes it impossible to stay mad with him!' She thought irritably.
"Green dork." She muttered darkly.
Beast Boy laughed next to her and rested his head against hers. "Pale dork." He said jestingly as his left arm moved around her and embraced her to him.
Raven couldn't help but smile a little at the action. He could be annoying at times, but he definitely made up for it with moments like this. Where she could sit up, rest up against him, feel his hand rub calming circles on her leg, and just melt into his embrace…
"Raven." He spoke after a moment.
"Hmmm?" Raven asked.
"You know I love you, right?" He asked.
…
Raven lowered her left hand from her book. She rested it where Beast Boy's left hand was rubbing circles on her leg. "Yes, I know that Gar." Raven said.
Beast Boy planted another kiss to the side of Raven's forehead next to her chakra. "Okay dude, I just wanted to remind you." He said as his left hand started to play with the ring on her left hand.
Raven glanced down at their two hands. He was playing with the amethyst studded silver ring he had given her eight years ago. Her own fingers messed with the gold band on his finger that had a purple raven etched into an emerald. She smiled. Sure, it was cheesy, his choice of ring. But she could still remember the day so vividly when he had proposed to her. It had been a day she had never thought would happen to her. And now, eight years later, she was grateful for every little trial, problem, date, and friend that had brought them together.
It had been a tough journey, but it had been worth it.
…
"Gar." Raven finally said after a moment.
"Yes?" Beast Boy asked.
Raven turned her head and put the book away. Her powers then closed all the doors to the room. She didn't really care about the book anymore, and she definitely didn't want anyone to come in now. She had someone far more interesting than any book on her mind at the moment.
She shifted so she was on his lap staring into his eyes. "I love you too." She whispered.
The two closed their eyes, and she gently pressed her lips to his again. From there everything became lost to her senses.
'Yes. It was definitely worth it.' She thought happily.
…
…
"Ugh…"
Raven lazily blinked again and again. She could barely make out the pillow her head was resting on. The cape hanging on a stand next to her bed looked like a blue triangle to her tired eyes. She felt so tired…
'… What in Azar's name?' Raven thought tiredly as she sat up.
The light was starting to come in through one of the windows. It looked like it was early morning again outside. It took Raven a couple of seconds of blinking her eyes tiredly to recognize the light. She rubbed at her eyes with her hands.
"Am I seeing things… because I feel like it should still be dark out." She said tiredly.
"Huaaaaa!"
Raven's attention was drawn from the window to the other side of the bed. And the green arms that were wrapped around her legs.
"And I thought he fell asleep at the foot of my bed as a lion." She muttered tiredly. Then she chuckled. "Now that idiot's sleeping on my bed and hugging my legs as if he owns them." She said sarcastically.
She didn't sound angry. In fact, it sounded like she was trying not to laugh at the irony of it. Her, the dark and creepy introverted goth witch he had called her long ago; now had him, the extrovert extreme, as her boyfriend. Not just a boyfriend, but someone who loved her, and someone who cared about her.
It was so heartwarming, it almost made Raven want to laugh. Of all the luck, of all the good luck that she could have possibly had to come to a situation like this.
"Ugh. I can't believe I'm doing this." Raven said tiredly to herself.
…
Raven shuffled around and settled her face against Beast Boy's warm chest. The beating of his heart was so rhythmic and calming to her. As were the arms that were now wrapping themselves around her frame instead of her legs.
'Why didn't I think of doing this sooner?' Raven thought tiredly. His body heat felt even better than her comforter. Plus, his gentle breathing combined with the beating of his heart brought the perfect rhythm that wanted to lull her back to sleep…
…
"Mommy?"
The memory of the dream she had just had popped back into Raven's mind. Some of the tiredness fled, and the smile dropped off her face.
'That dream.' She realized.
The memory of the dream played through her mind again. Everything in it had seemed so familiar to her. From the little boy named Mark, to the memory of the proposal in the dream. It made her blush a little bit, but the intimacy they had shared on the couch had also seemed so familiar to her…
'A time might come when Gar and I could be more intimate with each other… and we might be able to get married one day… but if Gar wanted to have kids…'
A sad look came onto Raven's face. 'I wouldn't be able to have any kids because of my genetics.' She thought sadly.
Raven's thoughts led her to ponder on some doubts, even with the green man in her embrace next to her. 'What'd happen then? Would he want to have kids after we were married? Would we get married? Would we have to adopt? Would he be fine if it was just the two of us the rest of our lives...'
Raven's doubts led to more doubts. 'What if he didn't want to stay with me… what if he were to cheat on me and have kids with some other blonde tramp who could have them? What if he left me? What if he did something else to destroy the trust between us? What if he stopped loving me?!' Raven started to internally panic more and more as each thought entered her mind. All of the situations seemed so realistic. All of them seemed to have a chance of happening in the future if they stayed together. Each one made her fear more and more for the bad that could result…
"Huaaaaa!"
The man snoring next to her snapped Raven out of her thoughts. She stared in surprise at the green man beside her. He looked so calm… so peaceful… his arms adjusted around her again and pulled her close again. She saw a smile appear on his face.
…
'What if it all works out? What if all my doubts don't happen, and Garfield and I are able to be happy together?' She thought as she stared at his face.
…
All the previous doubts left her mind. It seemed so silly to even try to think of them now. Especially since all of them were just challenges they'd have to face down the road. After they'd have years of being tried and refined together as a couple by other challenges.
…
'I know what I want.' Raven thought.
She cuddled into Beast Boy's embrace. 'I'll sacrifice everything… my barriers, my past, and my doubts… If it means I can be happy with Gar for the rest of my life.' She thought.
Raven planted a kiss behind one of his ears. "I love you Gar." She said to her green anamorphic boyfriend.
She closed her eyes and relaxed into his warmth. Her tiredness immediately returned as she allowed herself to focus on the beating of his heart and the gentle lull of his breathing. Within a moment her breathing slowed, and her small smile came back onto her face.
She had fallen back into a peaceful sleep.
…
The man opened a green eye, and then his head moved to stare curiously down at her peaceful face. He had been awakened when something had pressed behind his ear. He had stayed calm though when he realized where he was at, and pretended to still be asleep.
The man stared at Raven's sleeping face for a moment. Then his already there smile took on a softer tone. "I love you too Rae. I love you too." He whispered before he cupped her face with one hand and laid a gentle kiss to the chakra on her forehead.
'YES! WOOHOO! WE DID IT MASTER! WE DID IT!' The Beast yelled happily in his mind as he celebrated.
'HECK YEAH WE DID DUDE! NOW WE'RE REAL MEN-, well, MAN AND BEAST!' Beast Boy thought happily. He could mentally picture himself doing a jig with the Beast in his mind right then.
'I'm so happy right now Master. I can't even put it into your language to try and express it.' The Beast said happily.
'Then do it your way dude! I don't freaking mind at all!' Beast Boy thought back.
'AWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AW AW AWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!' The Beast howled loudly and happily.
Beast Boy chuckled in the real world. 'Bro. You totally caught it there. You totally caught it.' He thought as he moved a stray strand of violet hair from Raven's face.
'I'm so excited for the future now! I can't wait!' The Beast yelled happily.
Beast Boy stared at Raven's sleeping face for a moment more. He wasn't paying much attention to the Beast now. 'I still can't believe it… a few months ago, I didn't even see myself standing a chance of being with her… and now…'
He took a moment to ponder on his next thought. 'I wonder what could lie in store for us now…'
It didn't really feel like there was much of a future for them. They had been on the run as fugitives for so long… But if they could get past that, if they could somehow resolve things with the Justice League, or escape to somewhere where they could live out the rest of their lives in anonymity…
…
'You know what dude. I can worry about that later.' He thought.
Beast Boy morphed into a savannah cat. He then cuddled back up next to Raven's comforter covered body. His head rested under her chin, and one of her arms moved in her sleep to hold the green savannah cat close.
'Right now, all I want is to enjoy the time we have now.' Beast Boy thought happily as he started to gently lick a spot on Raven's neck.
Raven shuddered under the comforter, and let out a small moan. The cat looked surprised at the reaction. The cat then was then even more surprised, and immediately stopped licking at seeing the stand next to the bed get covered in black.
'Note to self. Raven is sensitive on her neck there. Very sensitive.' He thought as the black energy that had covered the stand disappeared.
The thought actually made him internally chuckle after a moment. It made him realize there was still so much for them to learn about one another. Things that he could use to drive her crazy. In a good way, of course.
'I can't wait.' He thought.
The savannah cat closed its eyes and went back to sleep peacefully. It felt like there was nothing he and Raven couldn't handle as the heat of his half-human, half demoness girlfriend and the smell of lavender, jasmine, and herbal tea lulled him deep into wonderful dreams of their future…
Author's Notes:
This chapter was mainly just because I'm a sucker for fluff. And after everything that's happened in this story so far, I thought it'd be for the best to give you all a transfusion of fluff. Sorry for the somewhat longer wait. I guess this story is going back to an erratic update schedule for now. (Thanks College) Hope you all enjoyed it!
Till Next Time
