"Wonderful, its all going according to plan..."

As the beastmen king watched from the sidelines as the his armies advanced, he could not help but chuckle as everything so far had fit within his expectations.

Humans were nothing, if not predictable, so he could accurately guess how they would handle being cornered like this. It was only natural they would try to stall them out rather then win, and as much as he hated to admit, that tactic was a problem.

Most beastmen were fairly straightforward creatures, choosing to act on whatever they deign to at the moment. Because of this, strategy was not something they often employed. Usually their physical bulk was enough to get the job done, and if this was a straight on fight, it would.

However, with so many of the oppositions fighters placed in a position to fight from a distance, they would have plenty of time to act on their movements. Though the archers would not do much to the cavalry, it could still cause injuries down the line which may impede their final objective. Though the birdmen could easily handle them, he had his reasons for not deploying them just yet.

Though the birdmen were excellent in mobility, they were somewhat lacking in other areas. It would not be out of the question for one to be downed by one well placed arrow, so having them deal with the walls denizens may cause more casualties then he would like. So he had them stand back for now. Though with all of these problems, there was still no issue as long as they had their secret weapon.

Once the golems make there move, it will likely disorient them, then when everything falls into chaos, I'll have them join to pick off the remaining forces.

From what he knew, the Dragonic kingdom was not aware they had enlisted the golems into their ranks, since the cities were destroyed to fast for the news to spread, and if they did somehow know, it was already to late.

"Well it should be about that time..." though he was a fair distance from the structure, he could make out something being spilled down the sides, which was causing his forces to disperse. He could see they had almost made it to the top, but their advance was cut short.

"Burning oil... Or is it tar?" Either way, it was a clever tactic. Because of the heat, they would be forced to backpedal, no matter how strong the individual, and sense the beastmen did not know magic, fire protection spells were not an option either.

To make matters worse, since it had covered the wall they would have to clim, it was no longer a option to use when they tried to enter the city. Thus they would need to attack the main gate, which would be signifigantly harder.

This might be troublesome... if we didn't have them.

This tactic would cause them to be put on the back foot for a while, though with the power of the golems, it was child's play.

"Hm, lets give them some fear first. Alright cavalry golem, aim one of your arrows at the lone archer on the wall!"

With the order given, the living statue began to move with robotic yet precise movements. Within 2 seconds, it had already knocked a massive arrow that was at least 2 meters long, and fired.

The bolt sailed through the air at unbelievable speeds that freighted onlookers. Even the king would not be able to dodge as it was now. That being the case, what was the fate of the man it was aimed at?

Naturally he simply dyed his surroundings a deep red as his life was extinguished. Oh how he cherished the looks of stupefaction on the surrounding people. It was something that never grew old, watching people who though they had a chance crumble in the face of reality.

"Now that I've had my fun, let's get on with it. Golem, fire another shot at the wall below him!" Just like before the arrow was set loose, and the force of it smashing into the stone wall opened up a large hole that they would easily be able to break into.

As he witnessed his horde flow into the newly created opening, he could not help but smile. Though this was not the final attack, seeing how quickly a city crumbled before him gave him confidence, and merely reaffirmed his thoughts that humans were truly weak creatures.

Yet despite the odds turning into there favor, his army stopped dead in their tracks.

"What is this? There defenses are shattered and the army is routed!? Is this not the time to break through!?" Seeing his victory fall short for no apparent reason caused his calm mood to fade as impatience fueled his anger.

"Fire another arrow at the wall!", the hunk of metal sailed towards the man made barricade, yet instead of the expected result of having a repeat of last time, he saw a flash of red, and it bolt fell uselessly to the ground. In the face of this, he could finally understand what had happened.

"A spell."

Indeed, if that was the case, then it would make sense. Though he did not know much about magic, he could at least surmise that what was used was some sort of defensive spell, though exactly how powerful it was remained to be scene. Though it could block an attack from the golems bow, it was not as if it could do that infinitely. Spells could only be so strong after all.

As he was mulling over how to deal with this new situation, a massive plume of fire decimated a huge portion of their front line. Clearly whatever this was, it needed to be dealt with.

"Come golems! We should end this before it gets to far!" With the capital still needing to be destroyed, they couldn't lose such numbers this quickly.

Moving with perfect rhythm, the golems moved through the army carrying their king upon themselves. The beastmen knew what this meant, and merely stood aside for their leader to finish the skirmish.

"I'm really glad the queen decided to come now..."

After Ainz had saved the people from being slaughtered, each and everyone began to panic once they saw his form. Some even thought they had died, and he was there to carry their souls away to the afterlife!

Though he wanted to explain the situation, the mass hysteria prevented him from doing so. Not wanting to deal with it, he had cast a Widened [Silence] spell to allow them to listen. The queen then acted on his behalf and informed them of his identity, and that finally managed to calm them all down. He was rather grateful, since now he didn't need to try to convince them he was on there side.

Its not as if I'm not used to this reaction, but can't people just accept what was laid before them?

Every single time he appeared before someone without prior notice, without fail, they would instantly label him as evil do to his appearance. It was beginning to grow tiresome having to explain himself every time he wanted to conduct business.

"Well whatever, the end result is the same. Excuse me Draudillon-dono, but how should we deal with the wounded soldiers? My spell should have wiped out any immediate threats, and right now they would merely be a hindrance for what I am going to do."

"Ah, you mean that you don't want them to get caught in your spell! I understand your majesty. Everyone, his majesty the sorcerer king is going to handle the battle from here on out. Please gather everyone in the center of town so you aren't in range of the battle!"

The reason Ainz had said this was it would be a hassle to kill everyone if they were still spread out if and when he sided with the beastmen. Though Draudillon had gotten his motives wrong, there was no need to correct her.

The soldiers merely nodded with tears in their eyes, and ran to inform the others of the new orders. They must have been so accepting because they had come here prepared to die, but now that hope was dangling before them, they would grab onto it and never let go.

"Now then Draudillon-dono, let us begin with our... Hm?"

As Ainz was about to begin his appraisal, one of his rings gave him a notification that he had almost forgotten was a possibility lately.

A Scrying spell?

The 7th seat of the black scripture.

After the massacre that was the war between the empire and the kingdom, she had become so distrught with what she had seen, she locked herself away for a few days just to process it all.

Even now the horrific images still linger in her mind. Those... Things trampling people underfoot, without a shred of mercy. It would be enough to make anyone sick, especially one who knew they one day have to face such a monster.

She was not especially strong. One of the weakest among the black scripture in fact. But her placement was not for power, but utility. Reconnaissance spells were essential in information gathering. Though not many could obtain such magic, the ones that did were known to be extremely valued.

That's why when she had been traumatized by what she had seen, she could not simple pack her bags and say, "I quit." she still had a job to do, and though the fear still lingered, she would do it for the sake of humanity.

That was, until she was told she would need to view Ainz Ooal Gown again.

So adamant was her refusal that she almost had to be taken away for how she had acted in front of the cardinals. However, in the end she could not refuse. And that was what she hated the most.

Intel from there spies in the sorcerer kingdom said that he had left the city and was heading of to a unknown place. Therefore she was needed so they could get a leg up on his plans.

It's okay, it's okay, its not going to be like last time...

Her hand was practically trembling as she prepared to cast her spell. Though she was a rather strong willed woman, she would run away screaming if she was told to face that being. Even the thought of viewing him was almost too much to bear.

"hu... hu... just get this over with... [Realm Sight!]"

With clenched eyes, she cast her spell of the 6th tier, which would allow one to observe a individual for as long as ones mana allowed. She would not normally be able to cast such a legendary spell, but with the items left behind by their gods, it was possible.

She slowly peeled open her eyes, afraid of what she might see, but whatever she was imagining, was still not as suprising as what lay before her.

Nothing.

A blank, empty void.

The spell had obviously been cast, that much was obvious. But where she should be viewing Ainz Ooal Gown's location, was pure blackness.

"How is this possible! The only time this happened was back when...

As a memory suddenly surfaced of when a similar thing had occurred, the screen finally showed a change. A series of symbols – No – letters, appeared before her and formed a note to her.

Attention! – Detecting the use of the 6th tier spell, [Realm Sight] upon Ainz Ooal Gown. Anti-Divination countermeasures have been activated, and will now engage. Releasing attached spell, [Widen magic – Explosion]

"Eh?"

"That should be enough to make them behave."

Though he held off that one time with the sunlight scripture, this time he wouldn't be so forgiving. He wouldn't allow for any outside interference.

"Is something the matter your majesty?"

"Hm? Oh its nothing Draudillin-dono. I was just thinking of the ways to defeat this army is all. My current plan is to unleash one of my subordinates on them to erase them all in one fell swoop. Though that may not be needed depending on how this goes..." Ignoring her confused face, he searched the crowd for golems that he possibly would be taking on.

It didn't take long to find them, as they were in fact walking towards Ainz as they speak. It was almost at the gate in fact. "Well then now there is no need to find them. [Mass Fly.] Please follow me Draudillon-dono."

"Of course."

With graceful movements that defied gravity, the group jumped down the wall to get a better meeting point with the cavalry golems. However what was more surprising was the fact that someone was riding upon one of there backs. Once both parties were around 50 Meters from each other, the figure jumped from the golem and crashed to the ground. Unlike Ainz's graceful fall, this one was full of power and force that scattered dust when he hit.

"So you must be Queen Draudillon. I'm truly honored." with a obviously fake smile, he bowed in a mocking show of respect.

"Are you the one who has lead this attack on my people!?" though her voice could not properly convey it, she was seething with rage.

"Indeed I am known as Fan Drei, the beastmen king! And it would seem that my little assault has made you even more desperate then I had thought! So you would employ necromancers into your fold to defeat us? I'm shocked"

"Their is no necromancer, this is the mighty being that will end your attack on my people this day! You lost any chance you had once you pitted yourself against him."

"Is that so? Undead one, identify yourself."

For a long period, Ainz didn't respond. Simply staring at the golems that were brought to the fight. And before the king could say another word, he finally gave his reply.

"How disappointing..."

It would seem that the legendary golems of the beastmen were nothing to be interested in after all. Back in YGGDRASIL, players could purchase all manner of creatures to defend their guildbase as guards for a bit of gold. Though golems were normally crafted, some could be obtained through other means. These golems were just such a example.

When one purchased golems, they would simply come in a few preset models, and would cap at level 50. these golems were just one of those models. Bearing witness to this, ainz was hard pressed to hide his disappointment.

"What the hell did you just say you damn skeleton?!" though many would back down at such powerful anger, ainz merely responded in a cold voice.

"I said that you no longer have any worth to me. Your value is non consequential. Shalltear, please send Gargantua to my current location."

Before anyone had time to process what was just said, he simply raised one of his bony arms to the sky.

"Know despair."

And then, he snapped his fingers.

A/N This part right here was one of the first ideas I had when coming up with this fic. I just knew I wanted Gargantua to stomp on the inferior golems since it would seem maruyama may not have time to do that now :(
