I have no idea how to apologize for my tardiness in updating this. Apparently, college can get really tough. I've only had the brainpower lately to work on one fanfic in another fandom lately. And to think I left you all on such a cliffhanger for two months… maybe things will have improved by Christmas Vacation… hopefully.

The bottom Author's Note is going to be interesting this time around. Enjoy!

Chapter Fifty-Three: Caught At Last

Several days later…

It was dark and silent…

"Ugh…" A groan of pain broke the silence.

'Why does my freaking head hurt so much…' Beast Boy thought.

After a moment, a sliver of light was shown. Then it quickly disappeared. 'Ouch. Why is that light so bright?' Beast Boy thought to himself. 'Hell, where am I…'

Beast Boy blinked a little bit more. He tried to sit up on whatever he was sitting on and found it hard to move. 'And why can't I move my freaking hands and arms.' He thought as he shook his head to try and clear it.

Finally, the headache receded a little bit, and the room around Beast Boy came into focus. "*Gasp!*" Beast Boy gasped in shock.

He recognized what it was immediately.

The bright light was from a translucent glowing blue wall of energy at the front end of the cell. An open room was on the other side of the energy barrier. The barrier itself lit up the white walls of the cell Beast Boy was stuck in.

Beast Boy tried to move his hand to his head. For some reason though, he still couldn't move his arms or hands. 'What the heck…' He almost groaned as his headache returned a little bit, and he closed his eyes tight. Even despite his struggles, he couldn't move his arms around at all. He could barely wiggle his fingers in whatever was containing him. 'What happened. How did I get put in a cell?...' Beast Boy thought.

"Ugh…"

Beast Boy looked to the side.

"Raven?" He asked in surprise.

Raven was lying on the cot next to him in her cape and leotard. As he watched, her violet eyes blinked open. She looked like she had a headache and was looking as confused as he was.

"Gar? Is that you?" She asked in confusion.

"I'm over here Rae." Beast Boy said.

Raven sat up and closed her eyes tightly in pain. She rubbed at her temple with her hands. Beast Boy's eyes widened when he saw a pair of dark handcuffs on them.

"Gar, is there something on my wrists? I can't separate them." Raven asked.

"Um, Rae. That's because… they're kind of handcuffed together." Beast Boy replied.

It took her a few more seconds for her to be able to open her eyes to look down… She looked in confusion at her wrists. "What happened to us…" She muttered. Then her gaze turned to Beast Boy. "And why are you wearing that?" She asked in a surprised tone of voice.

Beast Boy finally looked down at himself. He still had his uniform on. Outside his uniform though was a weird glowing white straight jacket. His arms were locked criss-cross in front of him. 'That's why I can't move my arms or hands.' Beast Boy realized. "I don't know Rae." Beast Boy answered her.

He tried to focus on morphing into a different animal to escape the straight jacket. After a couple of seconds though, he realized he wasn't changing. He looked back to Raven with a pale look on his face.

"I can't morph anymore…" Beast Boy said.

Raven looked down at his suit, and then at her handcuffs. "Can you use your powers, Rae?" He asked.

She shook her head and raised her hands in front of her. "I already tried. I can't use my powers." She said in a more confused voice.

Beast Boy tried to think about it, but his headache made him groan as he tried to think. "Dude, what happened to us…" He asked.

Raven also groaned in pain. "I can't remember." She said.

The two were silent for a moment after that. They racked their brains trying to remember what had happened to them… 'What happened-' Both of them started to think as their headaches had started to recede more fully.

It was like a key turned inside their minds. With the last effects of the knock out gas going away, the memories of what had happened played out in full detail inside their minds. Slade's betrayal, the trap, the gas, the despair…

The full realization as to what had happened to them fully dawned at last…

Beast Boy sat back against the cell wall. His face looked twisted. "I, I don't believe it… the Justice League actually caught us." He whispered.

'After running for so long… I thought they'd never be able to capture us… I thought we'd be able to escape somewhere and live our lives without fear of being caught… I guess our luck could only last for so long.' Beast Boy thought sadly.

He looked to Raven again. She had her head bowed in front of her. He was surprised when he saw two fat tears fall from her face down onto the cot below. 'What?' He thought in surprise. 'Oh no, what do I do?! If Rae's crying, then I'm going to cry, and then-' Beast Boy started to think.

'Comfort her master. Mate needs us.' The Beast said simply.

Beast Boy immediately listened to the Beast's counsel. "Come here Rae." Beast Boy said.

Raven didn't object, and she scooted down the cot until she was sitting next to Beast Boy. She then rested her head on his shoulder and started to cry quietly into his neck. Beast Boy still couldn't move his arms, so he rested his head on top of hers. "It's okay Rae. At least they kept us together and didn't separate us." He whispered to her to try and comfort her.

The two stayed in that position for a moment. With Raven's tears hitting his neck. He planted a kiss to the hair of her head every now and then. He also released a few tears since there wasn't much he could do…

"I'm sorry Gar." Raven finally said. "It was all my fault…"

"Huh?" Beast Boy asked.

Raven sniffed. "If I had just checked for wards before throwing you down… I could have made a backup plan for us to escape. We wouldn't have been caught in such a trap." She whispered quietly.

Beast Boy wished so badly that he could hug her. He'd be lying if he said he didn't have tears in his eyes at that moment. He let a couple more of them fall onto her hair. "No, it's not your fault dude. It's all mine." He whispered.

Raven was quiet below him. "The Beast pointed out that something was wrong several seconds before the ambush. If I had just turned into the Beast sooner, then I could've fought them off and allowed you to escape." He said.

Raven sniffed a little bit and wiped a tear off her cheek. "You dork. You would have had to take on the whole Justice League and every other hero there to escape after that." She said dryly into his neck.

He shook his head. "If it means getting your fat pale butt to safety, I would've taken on all those heroes and beat them to a pulp." He tried to joke, but he said it sadly.

"I would've done the same for you," Raven admitted.

The two's tears dried away from their eyes. Raven cuddled up next to him and moved her handcuffed hands so that they rested on his chest.

"Maybe if we had chosen to stay away from Jump City. We could have tried our luck hiding out somewhere else until the next full moon had passed." Raven said softly.

Beast Boy shook his head. "We didn't know what would happen when we went down there. We could have walked into another trap for all we know if we had decided to go somewhere else besides Jump City." He said.

Raven frowned. "Rose probably knew which way we should have gone. But she backstabbed us and got us caught by the Justice League instead." She said bitterly.

Beast Boy frowned as well. "Are you saying that because you think she actually knew or is it because she called you a gothic witch?" He asked.

Raven shrugged. "I'm not entirely sure. I just don't like her." She said.

Beast Boy thought on it for a few seconds. "You know Rae, I'm not even sure she knew everything about what was going to happen in the future. I mean, the gift of foresight can only be so good, right?" Beast Boy asked.

"I thought the boyfriend was supposed to agree with his girlfriend whenever they argued about other bitches," Raven grumbled.

Beast Boy finally chuckled a little bit. He ruffled her hair a little bit with his chin. "I won't say you're wrong there now Rae. I just don't want to blame someone else for what happened if they're not deserving of it." He said a little more happily.

"I guess you're right," Raven grumbled.

Beast Boy tried to smile for her, but it came out as more of a grimace. "I have to be right sometimes Rae…" He tried to joke.

"Alright then, tell me. Do you really think my butt is fat?" Raven asked.

"Um… I'm not sure. I normally don't focus on other's butts, so I don't really have a comparison for you." Beast Boy replied a little nervously.

"That was quite the vague answer there Gar," Raven said flatly.

"If it helps, I like your butt the way it is." Beast Boy said.

"Wow, thanks," Raven said blandly as she rolled her eyes. Beast Boy remained silent at her sarcasm.

He sighed. 'This suit is going to be the death of me. I'd at least like to be able to move my freaking hands!' He thought almost angrily.

"Rae, what are we going to do now?" Beast Boy asked.

Raven shrugged under him again. "I don't know. Go to hell or something." She quipped dryly.

"Raven." Beast Boy said in a shocked voice at her bluntness.

Raven sighed beneath him. "I mean, they caught us Gar. We can't use our powers right now. And even if we could, we're in a level five containment cage. With no one who'd be able to help us. We don't have any other option here than what they want to do with us, and what they want to do is get rid of us." Raven said blandly.

"But… but there has to be something… there always is." Beast Boy said.

Raven shook her head. Beast Boy felt another tear land on his neck. "Gar face it. There's nothing we can do. We're in the power of the Justice League." Raven said sadly as she looked up to him.

"Okay then." He said. He decided to drop it there. He lowered his head and rested his forehead to hers.

"You know Rae, I never really thought about it much before." Beast Boy said.

"About what?" She asked.

"The chakra on your forehead." He said simply.

Raven's eyes looked slightly curious, and she withdrew a couple of inches. "Why?" She asked.

"I don't know if you realize it dude, but it's really uncomfortable when I'm trying to press my forehead to yours. That freaking stone there digs into my skull every time." He joked more normally. He gave her a full-on toothy smile in the process.

Raven looked astounded. 'I actually thought he was going to go deep or something there.' She thought, recognizing that he was only trying to lighten the mood. She smirked a little bit. "Well, Gar. If you want to make fun of my chakra, then maybe I could tell you a little something about that fang of yours." She said.

"And what do you want to tell me about my fang Rae?" Beast Boy asked her snidely.

"Oh, I just wish it wouldn't keep getting in my way when I'm trying to feel your lips. I just can't fully commit to it since I worry that I'll cut my lip on your fang." Raven said back to him.

"Well, I've only had the chance to feel your lips a few times so far Rae. So maybe if we had more practice you wouldn't have to worry so much." He jested.

Raven chuckled a little, and also blushed a little at his comment. "Maybe I wouldn't." She said.

They both kind of felt uplifted a little bit at that moment…

She rested her head on his shoulder again. "I'm sorry Gar." She said quietly again.

Beast Boy rolled his eyes. "For what Rae? Because it better not be about getting us captured or anything. I think we've already established we were both idiots on that part." He said a little more seriously. He wanted to just drop that subject for good.

Raven chuckled a little at his choice of words there. 'I never would have thought that both of us could be capable of being idiots.' She thought.

"No Gar…" She started. "I'm sorry, that it's because of me that we're both being exiled to Outer Perdition." She said quietly.

He went quiet at that. 'Oh.' He thought.

"I… I thought if I ever went back there, that I'd be going alone. I never wanted someone to have to go with me to endure hell for eternity… and I'm sorry that you're being forced to go with me there Gar." Raven said quietly.

'I wonder if he realized that was what would happen next after we were caught.' Raven thought.

"You know what Rae…" Beast Boy finally said.

He pushed her back a little bit with his head. He then looked down at her violet shaded eyes. She looked surprised at the emotion that was held in his eyes. "Even though we're both going to hell now, I'm glad that at least they're allowing me to stay with you there." He said honestly.

Raven looked slightly surprised at the way he looked at their fate. "Why?" She asked.

Beast Boy shook his head. "Because... hell for me… would be not being with my mate." He said.

Raven looked slack-jawed at his statement. The fact that he focused on that rather than the concept of hell, floored her beyond anything else.

He almost sweat dropped nervously at the look in her eyes. 'Wow, those were some great words there Master… but I'm surprised you admitted that she was our mate to her face.' The Beast said.

Beast Boy got slightly more nervous. 'Well… Maybe I shouldn't have used the word mate. She isn't part Beast, so she might not get the right message-' He started to think.

"Mmhhh!"

Raven's lips attached to his faster than a streak of lightning striking the ground. His breath was stolen by the action. "Why do you always have to surprise me with your deep statements like that you dolt!?" Raven angrily asked into his lips, before she deepened the kiss for them.

'Oh, I think our mate got the message Master. She definitely got the message.' The Beast thought smugly as he watched from inside Beast Boy's mind.

Beast Boy didn't respond. The effect the kiss had on him was ironically about the same as being struck by lightning. He felt like his soul was being electrified in that moment, and he was kissing her back with all the sincerity he could put into his still somewhat inexperienced lips and tongue.

'Damn it, I didn't know she worried so much about the fang before!... Then again, it does make sense.' He thought as he felt her tongue trace the fang poking out of his mouth.

*Gasp!*

After a little bit, they finally pulled back from each other. The two of them were both breathing in and out heavily, and they stared into the depths of each other's eyes.

"Wow." Beast Boy said breathlessly.

"Wow," Raven said breathlessly.

They were both stunned by the amount of emotion that had been expressed in that kiss.

After a moment, he finally looked around them curiously. "You know, if we were somehow able to get out of all of this, maybe the JL might let us keep those power canceling cuffs of yours Rae." He said.

Raven arched an eyebrow at that. "And why would you want to keep these Gar?" She asked. He wasn't already thinking of kinky things, was he?

He shrugged. "Because you do realize that nothing exploded during that kiss, right?" He asked.

Raven took the chance to look around herself. 'Actually, he is right about that…' Raven realized. She hadn't even realized that not even a burst of energy had escaped her.

Beast Boy laughed a little in front of her. "Rae, if you wore those things in the future, we might be able to keep the world from exploding during our honeymoon." He jested.

Raven's face turned beet red. "Are you kidding me? You're really going to think about that now when we're about to be shipped down to hell?!" She asked.

He shrugged. "Hey, if we're already going, I might as well deserve it you know. Besides that, what the heck am I supposed to think about if my hot pale girlfriend is sitting beside me kissing me passionately?" He asked.

Raven blushed a little bit more at the words hot and passionate. "Just shut up you green dork. You're embarrassing your mate." She tried to say venomously. She couldn't suppress the chuckles that sounded in the background of her tone though.

Beast Boy chuckled along with her. "I can't help it, Rae. You look so cute, even when I'm sitting next to your big fat rear." He joked.

"Gah!" Raven said in an exaggerated tone. "I don't even know why I deal with you!"

Beast Boy continued to laugh at that.

"You know what, since we just figured it out, we might as well take advantage of a bad situation Rae." Beast Boy said after a moment.

Raven was confused and started to open her mouth to ask him what he meant. However, his lips reattached to hers again and cut off any other words she wanted to say.

'He has a slightly annoying tendency of doing that. Doesn't he?' Raven at first thought.

That first thought didn't last for long as he used his fang to nip at her lip. 'Aw (bleep) it!' She immediately threw all her other thoughts out the window and focused on kissing him back.

It didn't start out passionate as the first one had. It started more slowly, and more deliberately. Their tongues started out prodding the other's defenses. Finding out where the other was weak. It was a build-up between the two that brought their make-out session into gradually more aggressive territory.

Then her hands as best they could in the handcuffs gripped his straight jacket and held him close to herself as their tongues finally dueled. It brought the two to an emotional high neither of them had ever dreamed of before.

With each second break to breath, they took a moment to think and memorize how the other felt. What had made them gasp, what had made them moan, before falling back into that deep emotion that was expressed between them. The fight that led them to discover more about each other.

'I never knew her tongue would like my fangs so much.' Beast Boy realized in a brief moment where Raven won and traced his fangs inside his mouth with her tongue.

'I didn't realize he'd love the taste of the inside of my mouth.' Raven thought as his tongue explored the inside of her mouth. From the roof of her mouth to the bottom of her teeth. It was like he was tasting her while he was kissing her. The very thought made her moan into his mouth.

It seemed like so much was happening. Yet nothing exploded. Nothing apocalyptic was happening. Raven was even able at times to blot out the little fang that kept on nibbling against her lips while their tongues dueled. And for a moment, it felt like two normal people making out. One was in handcuffs, and the other was in a jacket that kept him restrained, but the kiss itself felt normal. Like it could go on and on forever…

Eventually, however, all good things have to come to an end.

The two slowly retreated from the other's mouths, letting their tongues have full dominion of themselves again. Then slowly, ever so slowly, the two separated their lips from each other. Their eyes were closed, and their hearts beat fast in their chests, yet their breathing was calm. In the background of all that had happened was the love the two shared between each other. A love that gave them both peace…

Beast Boy opened his eyes first and smiled at the relaxed look on Raven's face. "Hey, Rae." He said.

Raven slowly opened her eyes. She had a dream-like look in them. She might have been a little surprised at how much she had been able to feel in that moment. "Yes Gar." She said calmly.

Beast Boy rubbed her nose with his. "Thank you." He whispered.

Her eyes tried to focus on him. "For what?" She asked.

He smiled his special smile for her. The most genuine one he could summon in that moment. "Thank you for opening up to me the last few months. I never really knew how much of a wonderful person you really were on the inside until this adventure of ours." He whispered.

Slowly, the meaning of his words sank in. Tears appeared again in her eyes, though they weren't tears of sadness or hopelessness like before. She laid a kiss against one of his cheeks, and then she rested herself against him again. "No Gar, I should be the one thanking you. If you hadn't been patient with me. If you hadn't poked at me if you hadn't forced me to come out of my shell bit by bit… if you hadn't run away even when I yelled at you, I wouldn't have been able to discover this part of myself for a long time." She whispered to him.

Beast Boy rested his chin in the crook of her neck. A soft smile rested on his face. "I'd rather say it was impatience that drove me to annoy you and open you up. Not patience dude." He joked.

Raven chuckled for him again. "Stop ruining our moments you dork." She said lightly.

"I can't stop what's naturally a part of me Rae. So ya better get used to it." He said toothily.

"You know what Gar. If we have to spend the rest of eternity together in hell, then I'll enjoy it." Raven said quietly.

"That's how we'll look at it then. Being allowed to get used to each other for eternity." Beast Boy said.

"What a hell to live in." Raven quipped.

Beast Boy laughed a little at that. "Go back to sleep you sly weasel." He joked to her.

Raven smiled a little at the thought. Finally, there was nothing but silence and peace between them. The two didn't feel to say anything more, because there was nothing more that needed to be said…

Raven eventually shifted, and her head moved to rest on his lap. He looked down at her and saw that her eyes were closed. She was breathing in and out calmly. She had drifted off into a nice, peaceful sleep.

He chuckled a little bit. 'Dude, I didn't think she'd literally go to sleep… why did this girl have to steal my heart the way she did?' Beast Boy thought.

'Because she didn't steal it. We gave it to her in an open bloody deer.' The Beast said.

Beast Boy's little moment was ruined. '… dude, like, what the hell?' Beast Boy thought in disgust.

'I think in your words it'd be on a silver platter. Though it doesn't make much sense to give something on a piece of metal, so I decided to use an open bloody deer since that's much more appealing.' The Beast said.

Beast Boy rolled his eyes. 'Blech… bad visual.' Beast Boy thought in disgust.

He could hear the Beast chuckling deeply in his mind. 'It is a great visual master.' He said while still chuckling.

Beast Boy narrowed his eyes. 'You know Beast. A part of me still likes to think that you matched us up big time.' Beast Boy thought.

He could hear the Beast chuckle in his mind some more at that. 'I won't say I did nothing Master. I will say that I didn't get rid of your choice about who was your mate in the end.' The Beast said.

'Sure Beast.' Beast Boy thought playfully.

'I'm serious. You get annoyed by her sometimes master, so I was willing to leave you a choice in the matter.' The Beast said toothily inside his mind.

'It's a good thing I annoy her too. That way we're both able to have fun with each other.' Beast Boy thought as he stared down at Raven's calm face.

If he had been told a year or two ago that he would grow to love this empath, then he would have laughed the idiot to scorn. Raven had seemed so different to him then… well then again, she was still very different from him now. They definitely weren't two birds of a feather, but neither did they appear to be polar opposites anymore. It was like their differences didn't seem to matter as much. Not when they didn't hide the fact that they also had similarities with each other. Similarities that had always been there, just buried beneath years of barriers and controls.

Plus, she was only sixteen about to turn seventeen, and he had recently turned sixteen too on their little adventure. Teenagers just don't stay the same as they mature and learn to grow up.

Beast Boy adjusted so Raven would be more comfortable laying on his lap. 'All I know Beast is that my feelings for Raven back then aren't the same as they are now. And I expect with time that they'll continue to grow if we do good with each other.' Beast Boy thought.

'Yes, over a very, very long time Master.' The Beast replied.

Beast Boy gently smiled, and then he closed his eyes. 'With Rae at my side, I don't see how that place could really be hell for me.' He thought tiredly.

He fell asleep with Raven still resting on his lap.

Sometime later…

Thmmm…

Raven blinked her eyes open at the sound of a door opening. "Gar, did you hear that?" She asked drowsily.

Beast Boy blinked open his eyes at the sound of her voice. "Hear what Rae?" He asked tiredly. She still had her head resting on his lap.

Whoom.

At that sound, the two became more alert. Raven sat back up, and the two looked at where the energy barrier had been. The barrier had just shut off; revealing Batman, Nightwing, and Superman. They didn't enter the cell.

"We'll be taking the demoness first," Batman said in his normal deep tone.

Beast Boy narrowed his eyes. "Wait, why don't you just take both of us dude?" He asked.

"You are sending us to the same place, right?" Raven said blandly.

"I won't be explaining why, especially to that filthy green creature," Batman said insultingly.

Beast Boy glared. "Well too bad then. If you're going to insult me, dude, then I'm definitely not letting Rae go along with you." Beast Boy spat at Batman.

Batman formed a fist. "Why you little-" He started to say in anger. Even after being captured, this green animal still had the audacity to defy him!

Superman put a hand over Batman's fist and looked calmly at his friend. "You are separating him from his mate. I'd say that deserves some explanation unless we want to risk his Beast overpowering the suit and taking us on here and now." He said.

Batman breathed in and then retracted his fist. "It's merely a precaution. We'd rather not have you two plotting any escape together before your eventual exile." Batman said more calmly.

"But there's nothing Gar and I can do to escape." Raven pointed out blandly.

"We talked it over and decided it'd be better to be safe than sorry. After everything that's happened." Superman said in a calmer voice.

Beast Boy lost the anger for a look of pure sadness. "You're already sending us to hell. Can't you at least let us stay together before we go there together?" He asked in an almost pleading voice.

Superman's face and heart softened a little at Beast Boy's plea. Even though he had been beaten up by the Beast, and even though he thought the two had done a lot to the other heroes, he felt at least a little bit of pity for them at that moment. He opened his mouth to speak again.

"No. I'm afraid we cannot." Batman again said gruffly. "It's too risky leaving you two alone. We've already decided on the matter. And that's what we are going to do now." He said with finality.

The two of them sat there for a moment. Raven looked to Beast Boy, and he looked even more defeated than he had when they first woke up in the cell. "Will you at least grant us a moment before you take me away?" Raven asked.

"Yes. We can allow that." Superman said before Batman could say anything. Batman glared at him, but he didn't respond to it.

Superman had had time to think about it while healing up in the WatchTower's healing room after he woke up. He had come to realize that he had taken the last fight too far. Way too far. He thought he had done it to avenge Robin and Aquagirl. Or to fulfill the promise he made to Batman standing in the WatchTower so long ago. But after some personal soul searching, he'd realized he had acted more in anger of them possibly having done something to his mom than anything else. He had learned soon after from his mom when he called her that they hadn't really done anything to her but be nice teenagers. His blind anger had almost led him to do a terrible thing.

Even personally sweeping her place himself while she was asleep had revealed just that. No hidden traps. No sabotage to anything that could harm her. Nothing. He had let his anger blind him.

It struck his pride a little bit, but he knew it was better to be humble than to be proud when you were in the wrong. 'It's the least I can do to try and apologize for before.' He thought.

"Fine. You'll have two minutes." Batman said.

"Don't get naked while you're busy saying goodbye," Nightwing said in disgust.

The three walked off to the side of the room to wait.

Raven immediately put her handcuffed wrists over Beast Boy's head and rested them behind his neck. She hugged him close. "Rae, we can't be separated now. Not when they could throw us into hell at different times and separate us that way." Beast Boy said quietly.

"I know Gar. But there's nothing we can do about it." She said sadly.

He growled a little bit. "It isn't necessary. They know we can't escape on our own. It's like they're doing it on purpose just to spite us." Beast Boy said angrily.

She nodded and rested her head to his. "I know Gar… but we've had worse, right?" She asked him.

He looked into her eyes. "I don't know Rae. I don't think we felt the same way for each other back then when we were last separated by a cell. I'd hate to be separated from you now." He said sadly.

Raven said nothing to that, but she instead planted a soft kiss to his lips. A kiss he accepted. "Gar, you know I'd do anything for you, right?" Raven asked after she separated an inch.

"Yes, Rae." He whispered back.

"Then please, know that means that I love you more than I love myself." She said. And she didn't love herself all that much, being half-demon and all.

"And I love you more than I love myself, Rae." He said with tears in his eyes.

She hugged him close again and allowed a couple of her tears to land on his hair. It didn't seem possible for her to feel such heartache and despair at the thought of being separated from him for a time. Yet that's what it had come down to. She didn't want to be away from him, but she'd be willing to do whatever it took if it meant he wouldn't be harmed for her sake.

She held onto him for a moment, and he wished with all his heart that he could hold her for more than a moment.

"Time to go." Batman's voice commanded.

Raven planted one last soft kiss to his lips. "I love you." She whispered softly. It was heard only by him, and by Superman's super hearing.

"I love you too Rae." He whispered back.

She stood up off the cot. "I'll see you soon Gar." She said.

A tear appeared in his eye. And he did his best to wave his hand even though it was trapped in the jacket. "I'll see you soon Rae." He replied. He did his best to give her a smile.

Raven breathed in sharply. She wanted nothing more at that moment than to stay with him… but thanks to years of practice, her face resumed it's normal calm and stony look. She completely hid her emotions from the world as she calmly faced the three heroes and nodded her head to them. "I'm ready now." She said calmly.

She walked calmly towards her three captors. Superman had turned to wipe away the tears that had appeared in his eyes from the heartfelt exchange. "Don't, try, anything," Nightwing said venomously to her when she stepped outside the cell boundaries.

"I didn't plan too. Mister hair gel smelling OCD Batman wannabe traffic light, who I'll add, is more of a girl than a man." Raven said blandly as she walked right past him.

Superman put a hand to his mouth. "Mppfff." He looked to be trying hard not to laugh.

Batman looked to him, and Superman coughed into his hand. "Sorry, um, just felt something in my throat there Bruce." He said quickly.

Batman said nothing to him. He instead looked back to Beast Boy with a cold dark look on his face. "We'll be back for you soon, Beast," Batman said lowly.

Beast Boy didn't respond and instead brought his legs up to his chest. He rested his head between them.

Batman walked on one side of Raven. Nightwing still looked indignant as he walked on the other side of her. Superman followed behind the small group as it moved out towards the sliding doors. He had to keep his hand over his mouth to disguise his chuckles.

'Hehehe, Batman wannabe. I can see it.' Superman thought in amusement.

Beast Boy watched from between his legs on his cot as the group walked away.

Whoom.

The barrier went back up over his cell.

His eyes were blinded for a moment by the energy, and then he was able to refocus to look past the energy at the back of Raven's head as she got smaller and smaller.

Soon they were past the doors.

He saw her head turn back to look at him. Though her face and posture were calm as the night, he could see clear as day the defeated look in her eyes. And she probably saw the defeated deflated look in his.

Author's Notes:

*Gasp Gasp*

"Two months. Two long months of terror." The author shivered to himself. "One safehouse destroyed by a mad bunny named Wiggles. Another safehouse destroyed by a nuke a guest had brought with him. I'm running out of places to run. I'm running out of places to hide. The mobs are coming for me. My only hope is that 'he' hasn't discovered me yet-"

"GREETINGS Author!" A fat tub of lard jumped out of the screen into the clearing in an unknown location. "It is I, the fandom's worst nightmare come to life! The one who will steal your fic for such tardiness in updating! The one! The only fourth wall breaking genius! Control Freak-"

"Aughhhh!" The author left a dust trail behind him as he ran off, road-runner style. "Get away get away get the fetch away! I'd rather deal with Wiggles again then you!"

"Hey, get back here!" Control Freak yelled as he chased after the author. "You still have to put me back into the other story you were working on Al!"
