Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here, and I just want to say that it's been one hell of a time since I updated this story.

But now that I'm back, I will be honest with all of you. The reason why it took me long for me to come back for this story is that I had spent some time thinking about how should I write this chapter.

So instead of the episode regarding Happy's Backstory. I've decided to go with an original chapter idea.

That is all, and I hope you'll enjoy what I've made today.

Fairy Tail Guild Hall...

Everyone was going about their day as usual. Talking to friends, browsing the request board for jobs, and ordering a meal from Fairy Tail's Specials.

Team Natsu was by the request board thinking about which job should they do.

Lucy showed some concern since she fear that Natsu would go overboard and destroy something that may potentially cost them the reward money. But her attention soon turned to Iris when she saw her sitting by the counter without her brother.

She then approached her, and Iris immediately took notice as she turns to her.

"Hey, Lucy," Iris greeted,

"Hey Iris," Lucy greeted back and looks around, "where's your brother?"

"You mean Auberon? He took a solo quest to a local town earlier," Iris answered,

"Well, that's strange. I thought you two are always together," Lucy noted,

"Normally, we would. But sometimes, we would take on separate jobs since Auberon and I prefer to pull our own weight instead of pulling it together," Iris stated, "It's what our father taught when we were training to be exceptional wizards,"

"Are you worried about him?" Lucy questioned,

"Not really. After all, My little brother is a Powerful Wizard, what could possibly go wrong with him on the job," Iris assured,

After their brief conversation, Natsu and Happy had already picked a job and called out for Lucy.

"Well, looks like they've finally picked a job on the board," Lucy commented, "I'd better go and hope he doesn't break anything..."

"Good luck, Lucy," Iris said and Lucy went to her team,

Iris momentarily watched them go before ordering another meal for herself.

Local Town

Auberon stuck to the shadows of the town since he prefers to catch his enemies by surprise instead of confronting them head-on.

As for Auberon's quest, It involved handling a potential Dark Guild hiding within the said town. Recent activities and sudden disappearances were enough proof of their presence.

Auberon continued to scout the alleyways as a means to find even one Wizard from the Dark Guild.

But that's where he sensed something out of the ordinary. Small but powerful magic not too far from his current location. But that's not the only thing he noticed.

'This magic... It's... It's almost the same as Natsu's...?' Auberon noted,

Without a moment's hesitation, He went to the source of the magic while avoiding the attention of the townsfolk.

A few moments later...

Auberon arrived on a rooftop just near the source and used Light Magic to make himself invisible. He then searches the area for the individual he was looking for.

After a while, he finally spots the one he was looking for.

The individual he was observing was a young girl with dark blue hair and brown eyes, wearing a blue and yellow wavy striped dress, wing-like attachments to her arms and legs, and dark blue sandals.

'Huh... Who would have thought it'd be a petite little girl,' Auberon muttered, then notice two grown men blocking her way, 'And it seems she needs a bit of help...'

Auberon frowns at this and proceeds with caution...

Alleyway

The two men were a bit suspicious as they were trying to invite the girl somewhere. But the latter shyly rejected before stepping back as the two men tried to step forward.

The girl was scared until...

"There you are... I've been looking everywhere for you," Auberon said, as he appears just right beside the girl, and holds her by the shoulder, "You shouldn't have run off like that. You really got me worried,"

The girl gasps a bit as she turns her eyes to him while the two men turn to him.

"Hey, What's the big idea here?" The first man said,

"My apologies. My friend and I were separated when we first arrived here, so would you be so kind to step aside? We're in a bit of a hurry," Auberon stated,

"Not until you tell us who you are, runt," The second man stated,

Auberon sighs audibly, and turns his head up, "I asked nicely..."

Auberon whistles, and the two men suddenly straighten up much to their disbelief, he then lets out another whistle and the two men locked shoulders to each other, and one final whistle forces them to leave the alleyway together.

The girl stared as she watched them go, but then she turns to Auberon as soon as he spoke to her, "Apologies for my sudden arrival. I was just passing by and I end up finding you getting caught in a bit of a bind. So I hope you'll forgive me,"

"N-No! Not at all, thank you for helping me..." The girl thanked,

"You're welcome. Now, where are you planning to go?" Auberon questioned,

"I-I'm actually heading home. But I don't know where the train station is," The girl replied,

"The Train Station? If so, then I'm afraid you're a bit too far from your directions, little girl," Auberon said, "And making your way there all by yourself is quite dangerous considering that this town has been recently plagued with Dark Mages kidnapping children rather recently..."

"R-Really?" The girl worryingly exclaimed,

"Indeed, But don't worry about it since a Powerful Wizard was sent to handle it. If you'd like, I'll accompany you to the station since I happen to know my way around this town," Auberon offered,

"I don't know... But I guess I could use some help around this place," The girl said,

"Great, now stay close to me and act normal," Auberon said, and locked arms with the girl as they walked through the alleyway,

Minutes of them walking weren't uncomfortable for the girl as she finds this person relatively nice compared to the guys earlier, and she assumed that Auberon is a mage himself due to his sudden appearance.

As they kept walking, the two felt an eerie presence in the area and the girl tries to turn her head toward the presence. But stated, "Don't look, You'll only provoke them..."

The girl soon gasps and clings onto Auberon rather closely as two more Dark Mage appeared from the other side of the alley. As for Auberon, he remains calm before making a quick turn, "This way,"

They soon walked faster than Dark Mages and used some type of Shadow Magic after them. But two more Dark Mages appeared in front of them and unleashed their Shadow Magic.

"Hold on," Auberon said, wrapped his arm around the girl's waist, and jumps from the ground all the way up to the air while the shadows cast by the Dark Mages crashes into each other.

The girl gasps as they were in the area, but Auberon remains calm, "Alright, Straighten your legs and start walking..."

Somehow, the two started hovering in the air and Auberon holds both of the girl's hands so as to not let her fall. The girl felt panicked as they were slowly descending while Auberon still remained calm, "Hey... You're good at this..."

"What if someone sees us," The girl said concerningly,

"Don't worry, they won't" Auberon assured as he secretly cast a spell that makes them undetectable from the people below,

As they kept descending, the train station was in sight and Auberon gives one last comment to their supposed flight, "Now you're a natural..."

This comment lets the girl smile as they kept walking in the area. Before long, the two stopped by a tower and Auberon lets her down on the floor while he stood on top of the railing.

"If you walk down these steps, you'll reach the train before it departs. And don't worry about those mages following you, I'll draw them away before they get a chance to find you here," Auberon said,

"Okay..." The girl said with a nod, "And thank you,"

"You are most welcome," Auberon said, then jumps off of the railing and falls down to the ground,

The girl gasps once more as she went towards the railing, and frantically searched for him. But just as he appeared, he was gone in an instant.

This established some thought for the girl that Auberon is a powerful wizard in his own right. But her thoughts were interrupted when she hears the horns of the train, and immediately rushes her way down the tower. But she ends up tripping at the last step and hits the ground face first.

Though a kinder man helped her to her feet, and she thanked him before boarding the train back to her home.

Meanwhile...

Auberon arrives at another alleyway and patiently waited for someone to arrive.

Moments later, Four Dark Mages appeared from the shadows, and chuckles were made as Auberon stands alone.

"Do you really think you'll be able to best me through numbers alone?" Auberon said, then readies himself for combat, "Then you're gladly mistaken..."

Auberon stated, and the Dark Mages attempted to gang up on him with Shadow Magic. But before they could even get a chance to restrain him, Auberon lets out a long whistle, and the arrow flies above his head and shines all darkness in a split second.

Bystanders in the area stared at the bright light but dismissed this as they were informed by the town mayor that a powerful wizard from Fairy Tail was sent to handle this threat.

Back to Auberon, the Dark Mages were easily handled. But only one of the four remained conscious as Auberon looks down on him.

"You are going to tell me everything I need to know," Auberon lets out a sharp whistle, and the arrow points towards the man's forehead, "Or this arrow will be the last thing you'll know. Choose,"

"I-I'll talk," The Dark Mage admittingly confessed,

Apparently, the location of their base was somewhere deep within the woods and only members of the said guild can truly find this base due to a barrier they had set up long ago.

Acting as his escort, Auberon and the Dark Mage went to the forest to search for the Dark Guild's base of operations. Once they've stopped, Auberon conceals himself within the environment while waiting for the Dark Mage to properly open the entrance to their base of operation.

Once the entrance was wide open, Auberon jumps behind the Dark Mage and swiftly knocks him out before heading into the Dark Guild's base of operation.

This led to a full two-hour sweep as Auberon searched every part of the Dark guild's Base. Not one escaped from his assault and many were restrained properly with some rope that he found or knocked them all out with physical strength enhanced with an average level of his magic power.

As for every child they have caught in their recent kidnappings, Auberon manages to find them all in the room and contacted the town of the children's location while disabling the defenses of the guild base.

After he escorted the children to the exit, every parent that had become worried sick since the children's disappearance came up with open arms as they were reunited with their young.

Auberon could only stare at the children happily reunited with their parents. But the mere sight of this had caused him to avert his eyes and wondered about the past when his parents were still around.

He sighs just once, and his attention soon turned to the Town Mayor as he walks up with his daughter beside him, "The people and I cannot thank you enough for handling these ruffians. If you didn't come in time to rescue them, who knows what would have happened to them,"

"I'm just doing my job, Mr. Mayor," Auberon said,

"I know that it's not much. But my people will never forget your assistance," the Town Mayor said as he and his people bowed their heads to him,

"It was nothing really. But since you say that the reward isn't enough... A ride back to Magnolia and some food would be nice," Auberon suggested,

With that, the townsfolk agreed to his suggestion and began preparing a large sack of well-cooked food while a carriage was prepared for his departure to Magnolia.

Once the mayor and the townsfolk thanked Auberon for his assistance, the carriage departs as Auberon heads home...

But along the way, he would peek out of the carriage and stare at the train tracks. Wondering about the blue-haired girl he had met earlier...

'Whoever she is... I have a feeling that we'll meet again,' Auberon said as he took off his coat, folded it into a square, and lied his head down onto it as he took a nap on the way back to Magnolia.

Meanwhile...

Aboard the train, the girl sits by the window and stares at the field as the train makes its way to the next station near her home.

She would stay like this throughout the trip, but when she recalls the boy she had met. She couldn't help but wonder who he was.

Then...

She muttered to herself, "I wonder if I'll see him again..."

Before long, she stopped staring at the window and took the time to take a nap as the train makes its way to her home...

One Day Later, Magnolia...

After Auberon arrives somewhere near Magnolia, he disembarks from the carriage and gave his thanks to the coachman as well as some gems from the reward.

As he walked through town, he couldn't help but hear several whispers from the people of Magnolia.

'What's going on with these people...' Auberon muttered to himself, and glance around town

A while later, he hears someone calling his name, "Auberon!"

He turns to the front and sees Iris running up to him.

"Iris? What's going on? Did something happen while I was away?" Auberon inquired,

"Yeah! And it's really bad!" Iris replied before escorting her brother to a certain location,

When he arrived, his eyes were wide from shock as he gazes at the horrific sight of Fairy Tail's Guild Base badly damaged by large steel rods.

"W-What... What happened here..." Auberon questioned at the destruction of Fairy Tail's guild hall,

It's been a long time since I've worked on this. Now that it's finished, I'll work on the next chapter as soon as possible. Also, I'm working on another Fairy Tail Story that's quite different than this one.

And it's more of an experiment story than an actual one. I'll only continue should I feel like it. (Story Name: Tale of Lost Souls)

That is all I have to say, and I'll see you all in the next chapter.
