A/N: Wow can you believe were this far into the story already? I want to thank everyone who's reviewed, favored and followed. I very much appreciate you sticking with me this far. Now don't go getting all emotional on me... we've still a bit to go yet. Uh, dunno how long it will take us to get there... but we'll get there eventually.

Previously~ Hermione told Ron her secret, the trio is back together again. Hermione loves all her potential mates and wants to research. Second task is done, and Ron came out as a finalist for the chess tournament.

A Siren's Song

Chapter 23

After the second task time seemed to continued to go rather quickly. Every thing went on as it had before the Second task. Though Harry found more time to spend with Cho, and Ron with Lavender. Sometimes they even spent time with the girls together. For Hermione and her boy's things continued as they ever did. Hidden kisses in the halls and in the library, trips to the kitchen to visit the house elves. Trips to Hogsmeade and many stolen glances and smiles.

On the 24th of may, the Champions were taken to the sight of the third and final task. They were surprised to see a maze in its young form growing where the Quidditch pitch used to be.

On the way back to the castle, Harry and Viktor talk about Hermione, when they run into a babbling Barty Crouch Sr. who was asking for assistance from a tree. He kept calling the tree Weatherby. "It's all my fault," Crouch was muttering over and over, while asking to speak to Dumbledore.

Harry ran to get Dumbledore, while Krum stayed with Crouch trying to get him to tell him what the matter way. But before he could get an answer he was stunned, and Barty Crouch was gone before Harry arrived with Dumbledore. *

When they finally arrive back at the castle Hermione hugged the two of them fiercely, and only after making sure that they were fine did they head to dinner.

Professor Moody or Crouch rather was peeved. When he came across his father he didn't think that his Polyjuice would decide to wear off at just that moment. Crouch knew that his father would go to Dumbledore and confess everything that he'd done. How he Polyjuiced his dying mother as his son, in Azkaban, he then used a different Polyjuice potion on Crouch Jr. to turn into his mother. After they arrived home, his father put him under the Cruciatus Curse; thus holding him captive in his own home.

It wasn't until his house elf Winky took him to the Quidditch world cup. He was under the Disillusionment Charm of course. But it just happened to be luck that the great Harry potter was sitting on the bench in front of him, was erroneously in his back pocket, just begging to be taken. Fortunately for him the boy didn't feel him slide his wand from his pants. And he hopefully wouldn't notice until he had done what he'd come to do. And even though Winky took marginally good care of him, she was burden that he couldn't bear any longer. It was a pity that he had to give her the short end of the stick or wand rather.

Moody shook from his musings, surely the didn't know he was in the castle. He would have to silence her too.

Hermione gracefully walked to the Slytherin table with Viktor. She wasn't going to let him out of her sight until it was time for him to return to his room aboard the Drumstrang Ship. Draco was to sure if he should say something or not. None of the other Slytherin's were saying a word about it, why should he care.

He observed the two of them together in their own little world. She dished out his food, and poured his drink, in return she received a kiss on the cheek for her efforts. She smiled brightly as she in turn dished out her food and poured her drink.

Draco smiled at the two of them before turning his attention to what Pansy was trying to tell him.

The final Chess match took place on the first of June in the Great Hall. All of Gryffindor cheered for Ron Weasley when he took his seat at the table for the final match. He was to face off against a Slytherin 6th year named Adrian Pucey. Thought he played well to make it through to the final match; he didn't play well enough to meed Weasley standards.

After Ron claimed his victory for Gryffindor house, Ron and Adrian parted amicably with the promise of another game.

Though most Slytherin's were rather upset about their loss, the rest were surprised at how easily the Weasley boy whipped Pucey's arse at chess.

That night Gryffindor held a party in Ron's honor. And for the first time in a long while the Golden Trio felt whole once more.

Around the 16th of June Viktor managed to get Hermione to tell him what she wanted as a favour for saving his life. She admitted to not be very fond of flying though she could fly if she really had to. And she asked if he would take her for a ride on his broom.

As it was a Friday, he agreed immediately. After walking to the Drumstrang Ship to grab his broom. And after an embarrassing conversion from his schoolmates. They were finally on their way to the Quidditch Pitch.

Hermione sat behind him on the broom, her arms wrapped around his waist. By the time they got into the air the sun was setting. It was very beautiful. They talked for a short while, before he gave her the ride of her life. He tried to give her the feeling he got during a game when he was racing for the snitch.

When they were back on the ground, she thanked him for give her a romantic and very thrilling experience. While the sky was alight with stars, he kissed her in a way that made her wish that he wouldn't ever leave her. Of course she'd been wishing for a while that he wouldn't leave her.

She was really going to miss him when he left.

...

Third task~

The whole school sat in the bleachers on the Quidditch pitch. They watched on as Dumbledore addressed the school, the Beauxbatans cheered when Fleur was announced. The Drumstrang students cheered when Krum was announced; though some of the students from the other schools cheered as well. Mostly the Slytherin's, the Weasley's and Hermione. Hogwarts cheered loudly when Cedric was announced. And then Harry was announced, and most of the schools cheered, except for the Slytherin's.

Hermione gripped the twin's hands tentatively as they watched the champions disappear into the maze.

"They'll be fine," Fred whispered to her.

In the Maze

Each contestant found themselves in an enclosed hall of bush that towered over them on both sides. Each minute felt like an eternity as they inched forward. And then suddenly the walls started to enclose behind them, and they began to run.

Fleur screamed loudly as she was attacked by an enchanted Viktor, whom was really under the Imperious Curse. When Harry came across her, he sent up red sparks with his wand. Unfortunately he had to run because the walls were enclosing again.

The three boys met up again at an opening from three other directions. Krum aimed at Harry, Cedric yelled for him to duck, causing Cedric to get hit my the stunning spell. Harry turned and yelled stupify at Viktor knocking him to the ground. Harry knew by looking at him that he was bewitched, and he thought perhaps his eyes looked like they did when someone was under the Imperious.

Harry shot up red sparks to the sky with his wand, to summon help for the two boys laying on the ground.

It was then that he caught a glimpse of the Triwizard Cup. He raced towards it as the walls began to change once again. After grabbing onto it, he disappeared and landed with a thud on the ground in a creepily familiar place.

Out of the Maze

When Cedric and Viktor came to they were surprised to see, the crowd in the stands. "What happened?" Cedric asked.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Dumbledore asked as Madam Pomfrey leaned over him and then Viktor to check to see if they were alright.

"Viktor was coming towards Harry and I yelled for Harry to duck and then I was hit with a stunner," Cedric said.

"The last thing I remember clearly is saying goodbye to Hermione, before going to meet the rest of the contestants," Viktor said, "the maze is a fog to me, what does that mean?"

"I'm not sure," Dumbledore said before bidding goodbye to the boys. Knowing full well that someone was interfering with the Tournament.

Hermione rushed to their sides, hugging the both of them, "Why hasn't Harry come back yet?" she asked, "do you think he's still looking for the cup?

"Probably," Cedric said.

She sat with the two of them until Harry returned, nearly an hour later. He was bloody and dirty and clinging to the Triwizard cup.

"He's back, he's back," Harry sobbed.

"Who's back?" Dumbledore asked with a concerned look in his eyes."

"Voldemort's Back," Harry cried.

Dumbledore leaned down to check out Harry before turning to talk to the crowd to try and calm them down. He then turned to talk to the other professors before turning back to Harry. However when he turned around he discovered that Harry was gone.

"Where is he?" Dumbledore asked looking to Hermione who was still sitting with Cedric and Viktor.

"Professor Moody took him back to the castle Professor," Hermione said concerned. She saw the look of Dumbledore's face drop, "What's wrong Professor?"

"Severus, we have a problem," Dumbledore said calling him over, "Alaster moody would never move a victim from the scene without telling someone. We've a traitor in our midst."

"What would you like me to do Albus?" Severus asked.

"Go to your stores and bring the Veritaserum, meet me in Mr. Moody's chambers," Dumbledore said, "Miss Granger go with Madam Pomfrey to the hospital wing, I imagine that Harry will be needing you before long. Minerva, come with me."

...

Hermione waited impatiently for Harry in the infirmary. She paced back and forth while Madam Pomfrey checked her supplies.

Severus raced to Moody's chambers as quickly as his feet could carry him. What he found surprised him, Harry who was barely unconscious was sitting in a chair in the corner, while Moody was unconscious in another chair.

"Do you have it?" Dumbledore asked him.

"Yes," Severus said.

After moody changed from moody to Crouch Jr. Dumbledore woke him and then Severus forced the truth serum down his throat. Crouch admitted to tampering with the goblet of fire and submitting Harry's name. The plan hadn't been to kill him, it had been to get him to the ceremony to which he lord was returned to his true form.

After his confession they found the real Moody in a Chest that was charmed to be deep. After his rescue, Crouch Jr. was transferred to Azkaban where he was given the kiss.

By the time the professors arrived with Harry to the Hospital wing, Hermione was beside her self. She leapt to his assistance the moment he was lying in bed comfortably.

Regretfully Dumbledore had to waken him because he and the minister of magic needed to hear what transpired at the Grace Yard.

"The moment I grabbed the Cup I knew something was wrong, I landed with a thud in a grace yard that I've seen in my dreams a thousand times this past year. Wormtail was there. He bound me to the headstone of Tom Riddle.

He took a bone from Tom Riddle's grave and then he cut off his own hand, before cutting my arm and adding my blood to what seemed to be a giant cauldron. And then out popped Lord Voldemort." Harry said.

"Don't say that name," The minister growled, "How can you be sure he's not just spouting a bunch of nonsense."

"It's not nonsense Sir," Harry said weakly, "I fought him, and I would have died but something happened with our wands, they connected."

"You saw your parents," Dumbledore said, "they're coming back Harry."

"I know," Harry sighed, "they helped me get away, and it wasn't just them. There were others too, they held the connection long enough for me to get to the Port Key."

"Very well Harry," Dumbledore said, "Get some rest, Miss Granger has been worried about you."

"Yes sir," Harry said before turning towards Hermione and gripping her hand.

"You should get some sleep to Miss Granger," Madam Pomfrey said, "You can take the cot next to him."

"Thank you," Hermione said.

The next morning harry was allowed visitors after we woke. Hermione stepped out of the infirmary to allow for other visitors. She took the chance to disappear to the library for a little alone time.

The Weasley's swept into the infirmary like a hurricane. They were all there minus Percy and Charlie who had already returned to Romania the night before.

Cedric, Cho, and most of Gryffindor's 4th years as well. After a while Madam Pomfrey had to chase everyone out.

"Where's Hermione?" Ginny asked.

"Probably in the library," Harry said, "it was getting crowded in here. She probably used it as a chance to escape."

"Why would she want to do that?" Ron asked, "This is where the excitement is."

"I think maybe she's had enough excitement to last her a while," Cedric said, "I'm glad that you're doing better Harry."

Everyone watched as Cedric stood and walked out of the infirmary, no doubt to find Hermione in the library and give her a good snogging.

After Cedric left, the rest of the group carried on as if he wasn't there at all.

"There you are," Cedric said walking up to Hermione who was sitting in the library.

"I'm sorry," Hermione said looking up at him, "I needed to get away for a bit."

"It's fine," he said sitting down next to her, "Everyone figured you would be here. We know it's your hiding place."

She leaned into him, and rested her head on his shoulder. "Can you believe the year is almost over?" she asked with a heavy sigh.

"I don't want it to be over," Cedric said, "I want to keep you with me."

"And I want to stay with you," Hermione said looking up into his eyes.

The kiss started off slow and light, it was chaste and airy. It was perfect.

Hermione sighed a happy content sigh while resting her head on his shoulder once again.

...

~Departure of Drumstrang and Beauxbatans students.~**

Hermione was sad, she was standing in he courtyard. The Drumstrang student were preparing to board their ship.

Viktor found her among the students that were crowded around to see them off. Her pulled her to him and she wrapped her arms around his waist. "I don't want you to leave," she mumbled into his chest.

"I do not wish to go," he said, "we will see each other again soon."

"Will you write to me?" she asked wrapping her arms tighter around him.

"Da," He said looking down at her. "you will be careful, da?"

"Yes," she said. That was all he needed to hear before he lowered his head and captured her lips with his own.

There were gasps from the students around them, but neither care enough to pay attention to them.

The kiss ended to soon for her liking. After saying their final goodbyes Viktor reluctantly boarded his ship.

The twins and Cedric were relieved that the year was finally over, though they had become close to Viktor Krum and were saddened to see him leave.

Hermione, Ron and Harry shared one last walk before the farewell feast was to begin. It was their last walk as 4th years, perhaps they were just trying to savor it.

"Everything is going to change isn't it?" she asked.

"Yeah," Harry said, "we'll have to be wiser."

"And more cautious," Ron supplied.

"And quicker," Hermione said looking into the horizon, turning around to look at them, she asked, "Will you write to me this summer?"

"You know I won't," Ron said laughingly.

"Harry?" she asked.

"Sure," he said which really meant no he wouldn't.

On her way back tot he common room with Harry and Ron, Hermione was abducted by Fred and George. They didn't say where they were taking her, and she couldn't see where they were going because they had covered her eyes.

She couldn't tell if they were inside or outside, because somewhere along the way, she went from being dragged to being carried.

"Won't you tell me where your taking me?" she asked with a hint of laughter in her voice.

There was no reply to her question, so she chose to just ignore it and enjoy the ride. She didn't often have the change to be carried. Though she didn't expect that she would get the chance again anytime soon. And she wasn't about to ruin her surprise.

It wasn't very long until she was gently sat on the ground. She felt around with her hands. She was sitting on a blanket of some sort.

And then suddenly she could see, and even though it was dark she could see the stars shining off the Black lake. She looked around to see who had carried her here, only to snap her head back to the lake. Those weren't stars shining off the lake, those were floating candles hovering over the lake.

Hermione stood and looked around, Fred, George and Cedric were standing just behind her. "Did you guys come up with this all on your own?" she asked.

"Yes," Cedric said, "we got permission from Dumbledore of course."

"Some others will be down later," Fred said.

"Couples mainly," George said.

"But we wanted a little time alone with you before we have to board the train tomorrow," Cedric said.

"You don't mind do you?" The twins asked together.

Hermione was in awe, "Of course I don't minds," she said walking towards them, "silly boys."

Cedric moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Still think I'm silly?" he whispered in her ear.

"I thought it was silly of you to think that I would mind something as thoughtful and romantic as this," she said leaning back into him.

"We brought desert," Fred said interupting them.

"Oh!" Hermione said in surpirse, "is there anything chocolate?"

"Oh but of course," George said opening the lid to the basket.

Cedric let go of her rather reluctantly, and gently took her hand to lead her to the blanket. Not that she couldn't find her own way. He just wanted to hold her hand.

"Delicious," Hermione said taking a bite of a Midnight Chocolate cake with Chocolate icing.

"We're glad you thing so," they said together before they themselves grabbed a piece of cake from the basket.

"You guys spoil me," Hermione said breathily, "I don't know what I'm going to do without you."

"You'll only be without us for a little while," Cedric said.

After they finished their desert, music could be heard throughout the air. She didn't know where it was coming from, only that it was beautiful.

"My I have this dance My Lady?" Cedric asked.

"Yes," she said stepping into his arms, and they danced. The three of them took turns romancing her with twirls and smiles. They all received a kiss for their thoughtfulness.

And after a while they were joined by couples of all years, even Dumbledore and McGonagall showed. Everyone was shocked when Dumbledore asked McGonagall to dance. Some students even went as far to wonder if they were a couple.

Eventually McGonagall and Dumbledore returned to the castle, thought they reminded everyone not to stay up to late as they had to leave right after breakfast in the morning. "You wouldn't want to miss your train?" Dumbledore asked with twinkling eyes.

When Dumbledore and Mcgonagall retured to the castle, Albus invited Minerva back to his office for a night cap. She excepted without a second thought. Perhaps you can teach an old dog new tricks. Was all she thought.

Platform 93/2~ Deboarding.

"Stay close," Fred and George said to Hermione as they were getting off the Hogwarts express at Kings Cross.

"Were going back to the Burrow," said Hermione said in a quiet whisper.

"Yes," Fred said pulling her closer to him. She had forgotten about the threat of Lucius Malfoy over the last few months. She'd been so distracted by her boy's, that his presence at Kings Cross skipped her notice.

Suddenly there he was staring at her across the platform, a glare planted on his stoic face. He would have been handsome had his face not been marred with the evil grin that graced his features.

Hermione unwillingly shivered, she suddenly felt cold.

"Don't worry," said a familiar voice from behind her, "we've got you, you're safe."

and it was just like that, that they exited Kings Cross before Apparating to the Weasley's.

Meanwhile Draco met with his father on the platform. To say he looked unhappy would have been an understatement at the way he was glaring. That didn't mean that his godfather wasn't equally angry.

Severus was very unhappy with his friends behavior, and it was them that he decided that if the man didn't change his ways after a stern talking to he would have to take matters into his own hands. Desperate times, called for desperate measures.

It was then that the three of them saw Miss Granger exiting kings cross. The frightened look she sported mirrored that of Draco's as he caught the evil glare on his father face.

For the first time in his young life he prayed his Godfather would take him away.

What Draco didn't know was that Severus was sincerely considering it.

A/N:

Yes I've ended this part of the story with a bit of a cliff hanger. Part 1 of this story is complete. I just haven't decided if I'm adding the second part to this set of chapters or if I should make the next part a new story... I'm thinking it over. What do you think?

* this little tidbit about Crouch was taken from the Harry Potter Wiki. That's my go to sight for when I need a Harry Potter question answered.

** I couldn't find an exact date for when Drumstrang and Beauxbatans departed from Hogwarts. So I didn't use an exact date. I'm assuming that they left a day before Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry dismisses classes for the summer. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

On another note, those of you waiting for "sister of the boy who lived", or "Even If" I'm working on them. If I'm able to finish them to my liking that I will try to update before the week is out.

Thank you so much for staying with me, and reading. That you for your patience and for your understanding. That you for your kind reviews and for all the fav's(137) and follows(259). There are to many to mention so I won't go into detail, you know who you are.

I added some things to this chapter for those of you checking this chapter out for the second time.

P.S I don't Own Harry Potter, nor am I making money from this story. Alas it all belongs to J.K. Rowling. Without her there wouldn't be a need for Harry Potter FanFiction...

So thank you J.K. Rowling for an amazing story (A very big/ long story but a great story it is.)
