Edit (4-12-2022)
"Sooo, a Heroic Spirit made a contract when you were at death's door and you received its powers, making you a Demi-Servant and saving your life."
"And your charm is actually an artifact containing the data of an android hero that allows you to use his armor and was the one who you actually thought was a character you created."
After the outburst, Ritsuka and Mash took cover in one of the many abandoned buildings, just in case the sniper or any other enemy attacked them again. There, they explained to each other what happened from their own perspectives.
Ritsuka sighed. "I still cannot believe that so many things I thought were fantasy were real: magic, time travel, sentient robots… Not to talk about me being a toku hero and my Kohai, a magical girl."
Mash flustered. "W-What? Me, a magical girl?!"
"Well, you're a girl and you've got magical powers in the form of a transformation given to you by a supernatural benefactor."
"If seen like that…"
"Don't worry Mash, I would also technically fall into the category of magical girl, though tech-based and with my transformation trinket being my fairy mascot mentor."
"I am not a fairy mascot."
"You're a cyber-elf in a physical vessel! And elves are part of the fae!"
"Don't you use that type of logic here! One, cyber-elves have NOTHING in common with how elves are portrayed. And second, magical girl fairies are also different from mythological fairies."
"Didn't most cyber-elves physically resemble fairies from all cultures around the world as well as magical girl ones?"
Zero didn't respond. Which Ritsuka smugly took as a victory though Mash was confused about what they were talking about.
"Cyber-elves are sentient AIs able to materialize in the real world and who can literally 'hack' reality like, for mending wounds in both metal and flesh or transform your enemies. Reploid consciousnesses can become cyber-elves upon death."
Mash's eyes widened upon Ritsuka's explanation. "A computer program manifesting in the physical plane and affecting it in a manner reminiscent of magecraft? I… I don't think something like that would be possible, at least not without magical means."
Zero looked directly to her. "I don't know how cyber-elves function completely much less how magic in this world works but I've seen data gaining physical mass outside cyberspace on a bigger scale as well as magic and other supernatural bullshit at work that should logically not be possible, no matter the world or age. Just because you've never discovered something doesn't mean it's impossible."
Zero's words struck something in Mash while Ritsuka realized something.
"Wait, does that mean all those world merging incidents with videogame and comic characters really happened?!"
"Yup." Zero answered in the smuggest tone possible while Ritsuka slumped at the revelation. "I find your lack of faith… disturbing."
"Don't begin with Star Wars references." Ritsuka rubbed her head. "Now I'm thinking that franchise actually exists, especially with Disney's acquisition of Marvel. By the way, did your Spirit say something else?" She turned to Mash, trying to change the subject.
Mash's face fell. "I… don't know. When I made the contract, it fell asleep. I cannot contact it. Eek!"
Mash cried out surprised when Ritsuka grabbed her by her shoulders.
"S-senpai?!" She confusedly called out red as a tomato when Ritsuka brought her face closer.
"It's no use moping about what we cannot do, so we must remain optimistic and think of something that works! Dattebayo!"
Ritsuka said with a cheer and determination in her voice, bringing the eggplant out of her funk, the shy girl forgetting also about the close and sudden contact between the both of them.
A beep came out of nowhere, making the girls jump out of surprise.
"It seems that you had a communication device that's been fused to the armor's systems. Give me a sec."
A hologram depicting a fluffy haired man was being emitted from one of Ritsuka's vambraces.
"Hello? Is someone there? Do you read me? Please, for the love of God, answer me!"
""Doctor Roman!"" Both girls recognized him.
"Mash? Ritsuka? Are you both okay?!" Romani Archaman, or Roman as they call him, asked with newfound hope and relief, until he noticed something off… "Wait, what are you both wearing? Especially you, Mash! I didn't raise you to dress… like, like that!" He exaggeratedly pointed out.
"Excuuuuse me, Mr. 'I'm-a-Slacker-Idol-Fan-at-my-30s' but I think anyone has the right to wear what they want!" Ritsuka all but screamed at Roman, who cowered at the intensity. Nevertheless, Ritsuka took a glance towards Mash. "Though I have to admit… that's an incredibly lewd outfit for someone like you despite covering more than your usual bikini armor. Reminds me of the CPU's HDDs from the Neptunia games."
"Now that you say it, that's true. Though less technological and more medieval."
"C-Could we talk about anything else?" The eggplant said, embarrassed "Doctor Roman, check my physical and magical condition."
"Huh? Sure. Eh? EHHHHHHH?!" Roman shouted incredulous "Not only are the body's physical abilities augmented but Magic Circuits numbers and quality too! And at inhuman levels!"
"And what about mine, Doc?" Ritsuka asked.
Roman keyed, then blinked at the results, then rubbed his eyes, then he watched again if what he saw was real and not something bad he ate in the cake from before.
"Ritsuka… are you secretly some kind of cyborg or something?" Roman asked with an raised eyebrow, slowly becoming desensitized to all the madness.
"That would be me."
"Wah! Who's there?! It sounded like it came directly from the computer, not a microphone."
"Oh boy… Here we go again." Ritsuka sighed.
Fate: Zero Order
"... So you're fused with the remnants of a robotic warrior from a probable future, which also gave you dreams based on his memories and thought was someone from your imagination, until you discovered right now he was real?"
"Yup."
"Like you said."
"And in Mash's case, a Heroic Spirit made a contract with her and fused with her body, making her a Demi-Servant." Romani was in a thoughtful expression "Wasn't that-"
"Chaldea's sixth experiment. Yes." Mash affirmed, making Ritsuka and Zero blink (even if the latter doesn't have eyes anymore) and decide to shelve that for later. "I am also contracted to Senpai as a Servant. Register her as an active Master, please."
"Huh?" Ritsuka blinked. "Master?"
"Did you confirm her Command Seals?" Roman asked.
"Command Seals? You mean those?"
Zero dematerialized Ritsuka's right vambrace, alongside the back of her armored glove, revealing a set of red tattoos that the Megaman didn't remember having.
"Ok, Command Seals confirmed. Master-Servant contract has been formalized and magical energy intake is functioning correctly." Roman spoke "Though I must warn you, Ritsuka's Magic Circuits aren't something to throw rockets around, in both quality and numbers. Thankfully, with FATE and all that ambient mana may help with magical consumption. That and her bionic state can resist the stress much better than her fully organic body."
"Understood." Mash nodded "We will now proceed with the mission."
"Excuse me…" Ritsuka asked somewhat lost and nervous. "But what were you talking about? It sounded like I was a battery or something. Especially that part about stress."
"Fou!"
"Yeah, I know Fou but-"
Three sets of eyes blinked then turned towards the fluffy source of the sound: the white squirrel-dog-cat thing called 'Fou', who was watching them with an expectant look.
They turned towards each other and then to Fou again. Ritsuka picked him up and brought him closer to her face to examine him better.
Her reward was a paw on her nose.
"Okayyy." Ritsuka said. "How the Hell did Fou get transported with us?"
"Wasn't he with us before the Rayshift?"
"Oh, right."
The sounds of explosions and a suspiciously familiar noise filled their ears, making them forget about what they were talking about.
"I think we should inspect that."
""Roger!"" "Fou!" The girls and Fou saluted in accordance with Zero's suggestions and went into action.
"Who was supposed to be in charge here?" Roman asked while sighing.
Fate: Zero Order
Olga Marie Animusphere never had an easy life. Well, sure, she's a rich and highly skilled magus from a distinguished house recognized by the Mage's Association though that didn't stop her from having her own set of crippling self-esteem problems.
Just blame her dad. While his ambitions may be admirable and noble, as a parent, he was crap. He didn't even explain to her about Chaldea, Olga only knew more about the organization when told of her becoming the new Director after his father's death.
Fortunately, Lev Lainur, a friend of the family, was there to guide her in anything she needed help with, to the point she depended on her on anything. Well, nearly anything related to Chaldea, let's just not misunderstand.
So, it wouldn't surprise us that she would be scared and confused out of her marbles when after a huge flash, she ended up in a burning city full of undead that wanted to kill her.
"Why does everything happen to me?!" She yelled while desperately trying to fend off a squad of skeletons with Gandr. However, they had her surrounded.
"Damnit!" Olga swore. "Where is Lev right now?! I wish he would be here right now!"
Ask, and thou shall receive.
Though instead of Lev, all she got was a huge ball of plasma vaporizing all the skeletons that it caught on its way as well as blowing up most of them when it finally exploded on one side of their pincer attack.
Not to talk about a purple kohai bulldozing her way through with a giant cross-shaped shield, also making them fly towards the sky without wings or any form of assisted flight.
"Director! Are you okay?" Mash asked concerned.
"Wha-" Olga was flabbergasted "Wait, that strength. Does that mean-!?"
She was interrupted by another plasma explosion clearing another chunk of skeletons, courtesy of a red-armored figure with long blond hair armed with a high-tech pistol.
"Hey, Mash!" the red fighter yelled to the Shielder "Can you throw a car towards them?" She ordered while blocking a skeleton sword with one of her vambraces and turning her pistol into a handle generating a plasma blade, using it to bisect the skeleton.
"Of course, Senpai!" Mash nodded while using her superhuman agility and strength to run towards one of the ruined vehicles and launch it with her shield towards the last group of skeletons with the ease of a golf player.
'Senpai' then shot a charged plasma projectile to the rapidly landing car, the resulting explosion from the plasma and the vehicle's fuel destroying the enemies in a combination of heat, sheer pressure and shrapnel.
Some bits of car were about to hit poor Olga, though thanks to Mash's quick initiative, speed and very huge shield, she was saved from it.
After the explosion, there was no more significant noise other than the sounds of crackling flames and the footsteps of the red-armored figure closing by.
"Director." Mash' voice brought Olga out of her adrenaline-induced reverie "I ask again, are you well?"
As much as she secretly wants to say how she felt, an ingrained magus pride and her own obnoxious personality came to the forefront "What was that?! I mean, that was clearly you as a Demi-Servant but, how?! Why of all times and places, did it work now?!"
"Jeez, I know we're all tense but come on." the red-armored figure sighed in response to Olga's outburst "Couldn't you at least tell her you're okay or something?"
"And who the hell are you?! I don't remember someone like you in Chaldea and you don't feel like a Servant, much less a magus… wait, how did you do that? I don't feel any trace of magical energy in your weapons and armor."
"Wait, you don't recognize me?" The Senpai blinked.
"Should I?" Olga was more confused now. Now that she thinks about it, those golden eyes seem somewhat familiar.
A flash of light and data enveloped the red-armored figure, revealing a recognizable redhead with the Chaldea uniform.
Master Candidate No.48, Ritsuka Fujimaru from the civilian batch.
A first-generation magus with no training and pathetic Magic Circuits.
The one Olga kicked out due to sleeping during the meeting.
And the one who saved her with technology that resembled magecraft despite not being magical at all.
Cue Olga's even greater disbelief.
"HUHHHHHH?!"
"Time to explain everything for the third time…"
