Chapter 14: Entering the Grand Line
"Eh, we almost crashed into the giant whale. Good thing nothing bad happened, shishishi." Luffy said, still laughing at the unfortunate series of events that almost happened.
"What do you mean nothing bad happened?! We are literally inside the whale!" Screamed Nami some tears coming from her eyes as she was on the floor.
"Yes, we're inside a whale, but it's another adventure that we can go on together. I never went on an adventure like this with Oyaji and the others, so this is new. Also, if anything goes wrong, I can just eat it." Luffy finished standing at the head of the ship with a wide smile on his face.
"He's still a damn idiot." Yamato said face palming.
The ship kept getting carried by the stream of water until they arrived into what seemed like another world. As they looked up there was a blue sky, with beautiful clouds confusing the entire crew as to how there could be a second world inside the whale.
As they look forward, they see an island infront while Usopp is shouting to shoot it until a shadow of something appears at the doorway. Luffy squints his eyes looking hard as the shadow comes out to light giving him a good look. "Eh, that's one weird flower and I've seen a lot." He finishes scratching his head Yamato growing an irk mark on her forehead going behind him and grabbing him by the neck and shorts, throwing him over the ship into the water with a smile on her face.
"Maybe the whale water will make him less stupid." She said out loud, crossing her arms and nodding to herself proud of her accomplishment, making everyone else on the crew pale at what she had just done.
"Yamato you do realize what you have done...right?" Nami asked, sweat coming from the back of her head.
"Yeah, I threw him in water to make him smarter." She answered, still nodding to herself as she had a reasonable answer for what she had just done.
"Yeah, trying to make Luffy smarter is not the problem but throwing him in the water when he has eaten a devil fruit is, because he can't exactly… swim."
"Eh... EHHHHH! I'm an idiot, LUFFYY!" she yells, finally realizing what she had done and hopped on the railing ready to go get him until the crew stopped her from jumping.
"You ate one to you idiot, you can't swim!" The crew said with sharp teeth holding her back.
Meanwhile, while the crew was doing that the old man from the island had gone into the water and dragged Luffy out and hit him in the chest making him spit out all of the "water" he had accidentally swallowed.
"You sure your crew ain't trying to kill you kid?" The old man asked Luffy who was barely standing up.
"Eh, you can talk. I've never seen one that can talk." He finished, stars in his eyes poking the man's cheek curious as to what type of flower he was until he was hit from the back of head by Yamato who had jumped to the island from the ship.
"He's not a flower you idiot he's a-" before she could finish her sentence Luffy had grabbed her and thrown back in the water and cleaned his hands afterwards.
"Ah now we're even. So, what kind of flower are you?" He asked once again and went back to bugging him. The man still giving him an intense stare making Luffy think twice about doing it but regardless he wanted to know what kind of flower he was so he kept on forth.
Little Timeskip
"Let us go you inglorious bastards." A blue haired woman yelled at the crew as she and her partner were tied up with rope, their backs to each other and their fingers intertwined and tied up so they couldn't escape.
"No-de-gozaru!" Lucy answered.
"If you let us leave, we promise we won't come back and try to kill the whale." The woman's partner cries trying to leave alive.
"No-de-gozaru!"
"Please."
"I said, No-de-gozaru!"
"Why not?!"
"No-de-gozaru. I'm going to throw the overboard de-gozaru!"
"We don't need another idiot like you on the ship, Luffy make him act smart or something." Yamato whispered in his ear as she was transformed into her little tiger and was on his shoulder.
"No-de-gozaru. It is too fun, de-gozaru!" Lucy answered her instead of Luffy who was just smiling the whole time.
"Shishishi, now I have two fun anikis!" Tama said running behind Lucy and jumping on his back.
"So you're the infamous Monkey D. Luffy, one of Whitebeard's commanders." Answered the old man as they now finally had time to talk as they had gotten out of Laboon and captured the 2 people trying to kill him.
"Whitebeard?!"
"Monkey D. Luffy?!"
The 2 tied up prisoners yelled looking at the boy with the tiger on his shoulder before they took the time to examine him and finally recognized him.
"What's one of Whitebeard's commanders doing here in Paradise?" The blue haired woman wept tears coming from her face as escape now seemed impossible.
"I'm here to… have fun" Luffy finished saying in a dramatic nonchalant way, and picking his nose with pinky afterwards making the 2 prisoners sweat drop at how "unprofessional" the commander seemed.
"So you're not here to kill pirate crews and have them under the control of Whitebeard?" Asked the blue haired woman.
"Eh most people on this side are too weak so we'll see what happens, but now onto the important part of what to do with you. Throw you overboard or execute you here and now." Luffy finished as he grabbed one of his two guns, he had on his waist sash.
As soon as the prisoners heard this, they both started crying and yelling again to let them go and they wouldn't return, but Luffy ignored them and kept staring at the blue haired girl as she seemed familiar from all of the newspaper and intel he had gotten back on the Moby Dick.
While Luffy was a carefree, trouble making, horrible decision-making commander he was still smart in his own dumb way. To be fair he was very smart in terms of fighting, and how to get people to put their faith in him and earn their loyalty. But over time he became obsessed with being informed about everything, and not being caught by surprise which is why he spent so much time gathering and hearing every bit of intel from the crews multiple spy networks.
What made the Whitebeard pirates was not strength alone, but the connections and intel gathering that Whitebeard himself had laid out to keep on top of what was happening in the world and what the Marines, and World Government were doing secretly. Every emperor needed one and every single one already had one some bigger than others, but they all got the important things that happened in the world.
'Princess Vivi of the Alabasta Kingdom, aye. What could you be doing trying to kill a whale as part of that little organization Baroque Works. I guess I'm going to encounter that "Sand Brat" Pops sometimes talked about. I wonder where he ranks in terms of power against the other Shichibukai. I guess we'll find out soon enough, but anyway time to get information from them and play with them a little bit and then help the princess, and we'll have a pretty addition to our territories.' Luffy thought to himself, cocking his pistol just to scare the 2 prisoners up again.
"Please don't shoot, we can take you to our island and give you whatever you want." Mr.9 answered and immediately regretted as he was surprised by a camera flash which caused him to look up, and start shaking in fear.
"The Unluckies!" They both yell out panicked as the other throws down a bomb until Luffy shoots it causing it to explode in midair which the Otter and Vulture try to use it as distraction to escape but fail as they are both shot in the back killing them and causing them to crash into the sea.
"Well… that just happened." Luffy said swear coming from the back of his head before putting his guns back. "Ah, Izo would be proud."
Luffy was about ask Crocus a question he had been meaning to ask since he had seen him but was interrupted by the whale emerging from the ocean and ramming straight ahead against the Red Line.
"So, Crocus, do you have any stories about Roger that Oyaji and Rayleigh haven't told me?" Luffy asked, looking at the old man, knowing who he was since the beginning.
Uhh so yeah, I've been gone for a while. I came back from that vacation and well, I had no motivation to write. If i'm being honest I burnt myself out way too quick. I was basically writing a chapter every 2 days in the start while still taking care of my real-life responsibilities and my chapters usually weren't short ones either so yeah it burned me. I was essentially treating it like a whole job as I often stayed up until 2 a.m. writing knowing I had to wake up at 6 a.m.
But yeah, I wrote this chapter just to try and get back into the whole writing thing again. I really struggled with it actually because I wanted to add too much detail to it and I realized that I was just dragging it on so yeah sorry for the short chapter after so long.
