It took a grand total of three visits to Recovery Girl to have my burn healed as much as they could get it. When she said it would scar, though, she really meant it. There was a starburst-shaped scar right in the middle of my back almost the same width as my body, thankfully the texture of it was relatively smooth after all of the healings and ointments. The nerves there were more sensitive than the rest of my skin, but it hadn't really changed color from the painful red-ish pink yet. In my last visit, Recovery Girl had said it would likely take a month for the skin to be any different if it changed color at all.
During the two-day break, I had made a point to text each of my soulmates at least a little, mostly to update them on how I was managing, but I decided I should rest most of the time since the internships were going to start up as soon as we went back to school. I also made sure to gently stretch my arms and back in different ways so that my scar wouldn't restrict my movement by tightening the skin up.
What I didn't account for, however, was the fact that I was apparently now famous. On the way to school after the break, I had people stop me so many times that I was almost late, and considering that I had left the house late anyway, I didn't even have Eijiro to walk with me. That and the rain made me just want to skip school and sleep.
I ended up simply closing my umbrella, and running which meant I was drenched by the time I got to the lockers. "I should've just stayed home," I sighed then rushed off to the classroom.
Of course, when I got there everyone was chatting about the attention from the public, but I was immediately drawn to the girl seated in the back of the class. "Ah! Yukime!" I rushed over to my friend, then kneeled beside her with concern written all over my face, "You…don't you worry me like that again!"
The half-hearted smirk she gave me was barely a flicker of her previous energy, "My bad, mom," she chuckled lightly, "Heard you got scars now, too, but hey we both get to share third so that's cool! Wish I could've been there, too."
I pouted at her in frustration at her brushing this off. I did respect that she didn't want to dwell on it, though, "I would be strangling you with a hug right now, but…I'm kinda soaked."
She nudged at me gently with her foot, then looked at her brother, "Hey Shoto, would you mind sending a quick, dry breeze this way for my ditz friend? I mean, honestly, why'd you walk in the rain without at least a jacket, you dope?"
Todoroki shifted and then I noticed the air warm up around me for a moment. I was extremely grateful for the favor because sitting through class with soaking wet clothes would've been uncomfortable and embarrassing. In regards to Yukime's question about my lack of jacket, I didn't answer since my concern returned while gazing at her arms, and of course, she noticed, "I…I kinda fucked up my arms and legs. I get to add more scarring to the list…except these are gunna be really visible. The docs said they'll likely be a really dark purple color, which is kinda gross but kinda cool, too, cause purple is awesome. My hands and feet should be fine, though, my nerves are totally done for."
Looking past Yukime, I saw Todoroki staring over at her brokenly. My heart ached for each of them as my eyes drifted back to her arms.
"Hey, I'm alright Hana, ok?" My attention was pulled up to Yukime's face as she smiled at me then whispered, "Go sit down before Bakugo's eyes fall out of his head. Dude keeps staring at your back looking like he has a headache or something."
"He keeps beating himself up about the scar, but I'm over it already," I shrugged, then stood to go to my desk conveniently right before Mr. Aizawa walked in.
My classmates gasped in surprise at his lack of bandages, and I smiled remembering when he came home from his last healing treatment. I had become a crying mess and hugged the life out of him since I finally could.
"Good to see your bandages off, Mr. Aizawa," Tsu croaked.
Mr. Aizawa scratched at the small new scar along his bottom eyelid. "The old lady's treatment was a bit much, but never mind that. Today we've got Hero Informatics class, and a special one at that."
I knew my classmates were nervous, but I had nerves for another reason…because I knew what exactly the class was going to consist of.
"You'll be coming up with your hero names," Mr. Aizawa announced boredly, and the class burst with excitement. He silenced them by activating his quirk for a moment and his hair hovering intimidatingly, "First, concerning the pro-internships that I mentioned the other day…it's based on who the pros think will be ready to join the hero workforce after another two or three years of experience. You could say that it's a way for them to show an interest in your future. There's also plenty of time for them to lose interest, and any or all offers can be revoked. It happens a lot, by the way. The internship numbers are on the board. There's typically more of an even spread, but the top two took most of the attention."
Looking to the board I saw thousands of offers for Todoroki and Katsuki, and the next closest was Tokoyami in the 300s. I wasn't even on the board which had me confused. I had placed third, and showed amazing physical strength…what more did they want from me?
Eijiro laughed suddenly bringing up the order of names, "Didn't they get first and second mixed up?"
"Guess they were scared of the guy that was chained to the winner's stand." Sero commented only to have Katsuki shout, "Why the heck are the pros getting intimidated?!"
"They can't stand the heat, then they need to stay out of the kitchen," Yukime huffed from her seat, earning herself a few looks of confusion since she spoke up in Katsuki's defense and some laughter at her choice of comment.
I snickered, attempting to stay out of the line of quips.
Mr. Aizawa started again, "Whether you were picked or not, you will all have a chance to work alongside pros. It's true that you have already experienced more than most students your age, but seeing the pros in action and taking part yourselves will still be worthwhile training."
"That's where our hero names come in!" Sato cheered and Uraraka joined him by saying, "This is getting really fun!"
"These names are only tentative, but still stick to things that are appropriate…" Mr. Aizawa started only to be interrupted by Midnight chiming in with, "or else you'll know true hell!"
The R-Rated hero stepped into the classroom clad in her ridiculous costume drawing the eyes of us students her way. "The name you pick now may be what the world ends up calling you. That's happened to plenty of pros, and they don't usually go over well with the public."
Mr. Aizawa sighed, "Midnight will be assessing the sensibility of the names you pick. What future do you see for yourself? The name you choose will bring you closer to cementing a certain image, so try to pick a name that connects with that image. Names are capable of reflecting one's true nature as well," As he finished speaking he pulled out his sleeping bag, and proceeded to take a nap out of Midnight's way.
She took over the podium as everyone else talked amongst each other about names, but I was at a loss, chewing on the cap of the marker in thought. After 10 minutes, I felt a soft thump on the back of my head and turned to Katsuki with my head tilted in curiosity.
"Can you seriously not think of anything?" He scoffed at me, and I pouted slightly.
"Not everyone has been working on names since they were little…or maybe it's just me that hasn't…" I shrugged with a sigh.
"You have one right in front of your face, dumbass," He smirked at me this time, "Just use Copy Cat."
I paused, feeling stupid for a moment, then snorted, "Well, dang…guess that'd work, huh? Just don't expect me to wear a cat-girl costume to match it!" I pointed at him with the marker and laughed.
I saw his eyes widen a fraction before his face seemed to instantly burn bright red.
"Ha! Aizawa broke Bakugo!" Kaminari laughed from across the room, drawing some attention our way, and Katsuki growled, turning to face away from the class.
"What'd you do to him, Hana?" Mina asked in astonishment through her laughter.
Being me, I didn't get it until after I explained, "Well, I couldn't think of a name, and he suggested Copy Cat like he calls me all the time. I just said that that would work, but not to expect me to wear a cat-girl…cos-costume…o-oh" I flushed beat red from embarrassment as I noticed a couple of the guys' faces turn red also, Kaminari being one of them, though he looked entirely too excited about the idea. Eijiro had the same look on his face that Katsuki had, but his mouth was hanging open a little, like he had tried to say something but words wouldn't come out. Mina had burst out laughing, while the other girls looked embarrassed for me. Yukime, on the other hand, had her head resting on her desk, shaking in silent laughter.
Midnight seemed to get a kick out of the situation, too, as she smirked at me, "Wouldn't be the most risqué 'suit' I've seen you wear," She muttered seemingly to herself, but I had heard her, making my own face burn a darker red as I remembered her discovering me after I had phased out of my clothes. Thankfully, no one else seemed to notice her comment.
A few minutes later she broke the quiet chatter, "Alright, anyone ready to show their name?"
Aoyama made his way to the front, then held up his board, "The Shining Hero: I Cannot Stop Twinkling," He announced proudly. Midnight corrected it down to 'Can't Stop Twinkling' and I cringed at the over-the-top name.
Mina went next saying, "Call me Alien Queen!" which Midnight instantly shot down because of its connections to horror/thriller movies.
Next up was Tsu, and I just knew hers had to be good compared to the other two. "I've had this picked out since elementary school. Call me Froppy."
Midnight clapped her hands together, happy to have a decent name. "That's cute and easy to remember! Good job!"
Eijiro stood up with confidence, making his way to the podium quickly and holding up his name board. "This is me, Red Riot!" I couldn't help but smile along with him, feeling happy about how proud he was of his name.
Midnight hummed, "Red Riot, could that possibly be an homage to Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot?"
"Right!" Eijiro beamed happily, rubbing the back of his head in slight embarrassment a second later, "I know he's from back in the day, but Crimson's the type of hero I wanna be like. He's really manly, you know?"
"Just know, paying homage to another hero comes with a lot of pressure," Midnight added as she took his name board, and Eijiro just clenched his fist in the air saying, "I'm ready for that!"
After Eijiro, people kept going up to the front with confidence.
Jirou: 'Earphone Jack'
Shoji: 'Tentacole'
Sero: 'Cellophane'
Ojiro: 'Tailman'
Mina -again- : 'Pinky'
Kaminari: 'Chargebolt'
Yaoyorozu: 'Creati'
Todoroki: 'Shoto' - His name sent his sister into another silent laughing fit.
Tokoyami: 'Tsukuyomi'
Mineta: 'Grape Juice'
Koda: 'Anima'
Next was Katsuki, whose oh-so-lovely 'King Explosion Murder' somehow got turned down.
Uraraka went after him with Uravity for her hero name, which was a cool play on her name and quirk.
Deciding to just get mine over with, I walked up, and showed my Katsuki-given name, "It's really all I could think of…so…Copy Cat," I shrugged with a light blush. Midnight smiled and approved it.
As I sat down, Yukime finally stood up and walked to the front with semi-stiff legs. Placing her board down for all to see, she smirked, "I decided to add a little dark humor considering…," She held up a bandaged hand and slightly wiggled the fingers, "I'm Frostbite."
"Well…it is fitting with your quirk, so yeah that works!" Midnight smiled, though it was a bit awkward.
Next was Ida, but he suddenly seemed to have a dark cloud about him, which wasn't normal for the class rep. Silently, he held his board up with just his given name, then walked back to his desk with nothing to say. That didn't feel right at all…
Last was Katsuki - who was attempting to fix his name choice - and Midoriya who of course walked up next. When he showed his name, I swear the whole class tensed.
Ojiro suddenly spoke up, "Are you sure about that Midoriya?"
The green-haired teen nodded, "Yeah. I, uh, I always hated it…but then someone helped me see it in a new light. I was surprised, sure, but also happy. I'll be the 'Deku' who always does his best!" The pride radiating off of him was making me feel proud of him also. The name on his board: 'Deku'
I heard a quiet scoff behind me, meaning Katsuki definitely saw the name.
Speaking of Katsuki…his second attempt failed too, being 'Lord Explosion Murder' to which I simply face-palmed. He could think of stupid nicknames for others, but not himself.
I cheekily smiled at him as he sulked back to his desk, "Why not go with Boom Boy? You're already used to it from me."
He lightly glared at me as he sat down, mumbling, "You're the only one that can call me that."
I was instantly rendered speechless, not knowing what to say to that.
.
.
Midoriya's mumbling could be heard from every corner of the classroom as he considered who to request an internship with. A few of the others smiled awkwardly at the scene, while the rest of us were just tuning him out as we looked through our own lists.
"So, Hana," I looked up then quickly snatched up my internship list and pen as Yukime proceeded to sit directly on my desk, her legs swinging slightly shakily while she grinned down at me. "Where are you looking at going?"
I bit my bottom lip as I looked over my list, "I mean…Gunhead would be good for helping me increase my hand-to-hand combat. I think that'd be good for me to do, in case I can't get a hold of a useful quirk."
She nodded along as I spoke, "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan."
Happily circling his agency, I looked back up at her, "Who are you going to pick?"
"Well, my old man put his name in, but that isn't fucking happening," She smirked darkly at the paper, but continued, "I am actually going to skip the few requests for me, and send my own request."
"Wait, you're ignoring the pros that requested you?" I lifted a brow in confusion, "Why? And who are you going for?"
"I'm gunna be with Ida at Manual's agency in Hosu. I know he's a relatively chill guy, so I'm hoping he has a good amount of patience with me and my lack of it. I also wanted to see if he could teach me to get my ice to move in a more smooth, fluid way, like water flowing, instead of the solid and blocky movement ice normally has. I thought that'd be an awesome thing to learn!" She explained excitedly.
Just then, Uraraka bounded over, her eyes sparkling, "Hana, we're gunna have the best time! I overheard you're going to request Gunhead, too, and I'm so excited! I know we're both strong, but his strength-building training is gunna open up so many more possibilities."
Beaming up at her, I nodded, "Yeah, that was my thought, too! I'm glad to have a classmate with me, though, cause I'd probably be too reserved by myself."
"Let's each do our best, ok?" The brunette cheered, getting Yukime to cheer with her – admittedly the brunette cheered louder than the injured girl had – and she lifted an arm with a small wince. I just grinned at their energy.
.
.
After class ended, I went to my locker to be greeted by a purple-haired boy leaning against the lockers beside mine.
"Hello, Shinso," I greeted with a smile, which seemed to cause the corners of his mouth to curl up the tiniest bit.
"Aizawa," He shifted slightly so I could get into my locker easier, his eyes drifting to my back like he could see the scar through the fabric, "How's the pain today?"
I exhaled slowly, attempting to keep my smile up. I was so tired of being babied, but I knew he was only concerned. My shoulders involuntarily rolled themselves as if to relax me while I shifted my things in the locker, "It's doing pretty good. Other than being a little sensitive, the skin is fine. It'll take more than that to keep me down."
Sensing my mood change, his hand lifted only to very gently trail his index and middle fingers down my spine, which sent shivers racing through my body at the sensation, my cheeks flushing. The boy chuckled, sending a smug smirk my way when I weakly glared at him. He seemed to be rather proud of himself for drawing this reaction from me, and that only made my blush worse.
"Alright, alright!" I closed my locker with a huff, "So, why were you waiting for me?"
Shifting his bag on his shoulder, Shinso gazed down at me with a blank expression, "What, don't want me around?"
My eyes rolled so hard it actually kinda hurt, moving away from the lockers, "Nope, totally want you to just 'poof' and never show up again…" My deadpan look made him crack, a chuckle gracing my ears.
"I've barely spent time around you, and yet I seem to be wearing off on you already," His small smile made me lose focus on my footing, and I stumbled slightly.
Thankfully, he chose to ignore it as he held the door open for me, "Actually, I was wondering if you'd be interested in going somewhere with me. I heard you hero course jerks have your internships soon, so I figured I should take you on a date before then."
"Wait, like an actual-," I squeaked embarrassingly then cleared my throat, "I didn't know you wanted to…I mean it's still soon, but…I…"
"Relax, Attack Cat," His amused smirk was getting entirely too enjoyable for me to see, "I was just thinking of grabbing some fast food. I can't keep you out too late, or your dad might just hunt me down."
'Why do I feel relieved?' I wondered as my grip loosened on the strap of my bag. "Well, I'm still going to need to text my mom so she doesn't worry. She'll tell dad if he gets home before I do. Doubt he will, though, he's been dealing with a lot of paperwork for our internships."
Shinso nodded, then asked, "So, where are you going to do yours?"
"I'm looking to improve my physical strength and hand-to-hand combat, so I went with Gunhead." I smiled and clenched both hands, pumping both fists in excitement. "I'm only gunna get stronger at this point! I would have asked my dad, but he's really busy. Plus, even if he is really good with hand-to-hand, I think it's good to learn different styles until I find what I'm comfortable with."
"Smart," he said, then paused, his face looking thoughtful for a moment, "Hey, do you think…after the internships are over, that your dad might be able to... train me?"
Looking over at him, I took notice of a faint blush on his cheeks, and I could only think he was a little embarrassed to ask this.
"I can ask, and for your quirk, I think training with him would be a fantastic idea," I said looking back in front of me. "While, your quirk isn't the same as his, it still isn't common. Considering he's also an underground hero, I think his proficiency with stealth fighting would be amazing to teach you to work along with your quirk."
He then turned his attention directly to me, "You aren't like most girls, huh? By this point, you should be bored of quirk talk or training."
A small giggle bubbled forward without my permission, and I blushed, "I don't think I'm like most girls, no, but I do think I have my moments. All of this for example." I said motioning to my warm cheeks. "I don't enjoy gossiping and girly talk. Bring up quirks, coffee, animals, anime, or naps and I'm sold!" I smiled cheekily at him, enjoying how easy it was to talk with him.
"We're going to get along great then," his face may have been relatively blank still, but I could tell he felt just as at ease with me as I felt with him.
We walked in comfortable silence for a little while until a random thought popped into my head. "Hey, I know we know some things about each other, but it's not really much, right?"
He gave me a smirk and a look that said, 'You don't think?' and I scoffed, knocking his shoulder with mine. "Don't be a smartass. Anyway, you know my dad, and I brought up my mom earlier. I'm their only kid, but with Mic coming around so often, I may as well count him as a child-like uncle."
"I can see that," he gave a small nod, "My parents and I aren't exactly on speaking terms, but they pay for my food and apartment. I guess I can't complain."
Looking at him confused, I felt the need to ask why he wasn't speaking to his parents, but instead, I turned my attention forward without asking. Remembering how he spoke about his quirk at the sports festival, I figured that had to be at least part of it, so I didn't want to sour the mood by asking.
After a short bus ride, we wound up at the fast food place, both getting burgers, though I apparently gave Shinso entertainment by getting the smallest burger I could yet upgrading my fries to a large.
When we grabbed our food trays, I just smiled happily at my food and stuck my tongue out at him. "I'm just smart. Fries are better than a burger anyway."
He eyed me, smirking his stupid smirk as we sat at a table by the windows. "Then why didn't you just order fries and a drink?"
"Cause I wanted a burger too? Duh, Shinso." I scoffed, not able to keep the smile from my lips, at least not until he spoke next.
"Hitoshi."
My cheeks swiftly heated up, and I blinked at him. "Huh?"
"You call the others by their given names," He had been looking at me, only to turn his gaze outside. "I figured we could even the playing field."
"Oh," Feeling the need to occupy my hands, I rested them on the sides of my drink, soaking in the cold temperature to contrast my overheating face. "I-I guess that makes sense. If I get to call you Hitoshi, then…not that I expect to hear anything other than 'Attack Cat' very often, but you can call me Hana." I had tried to play off my bashfulness by joking around lightly, but I'm not sure who I was kidding, cause I'm sure I was really obvious.
Shin- Hitoshi turned back to me with a smirk, I'm guessing that's going to be a common expression when I'm involved. "You're not wrong, Attack Cat, but I can try to use your name more often if it bothers you…Hana." His voice had lowered purposefully when he said my name, and he chuckled as I suddenly coughed and had to look away.
"You're going to have too much fun with this, and I'm not sure I like you having this power." My light glare held no strength in it.
"I'll try not to abuse it," He picked up his cup, pausing before taking a drink, "But I can make no promises."
I groaned, yet smiled, shaking my head. At this lull in conversation, we finally started eating in comfortable silence. By the time we left, it was nearly dark so Hitoshi walked with me until I got home, despite my protests of being able to manage fine on my own. What I wasn't prepared for was the two of us walking up to the house at the same time as my dad was trudging up to the door.
Dad's intense stare locked onto us, and I tensed slightly, noticing Hitoshi bracing himself as well from the corner of my eye. Judging by the suddenly clenched jaw as dad stared down the poor purple-haired boy, I decided I should send Hitoshi on his way before things got even more embarrassing.
Quickly rushing to stand in front of the boy, I nervously smiled up at him. "Thank you for this, now get yourself back home, ok? Wouldn't want you to be out too late, and be too tired for class tomorrow. School's really important! Right, dad?" I called over my shoulder, laughing at the eye roll and smirk I got from my soulmate when we heard dad grumble before heading inside.
"I'll be fine even if I don't get much sleep, that's normal for me." Hitoshi chuckled tiredly, and I knew that was the truth from the dark circles that always graced his bottom eyelids. "I'll text when I get home, alright, then go to sleep. You've got to be prepared for those dumb internships."
"You'll be with us soon," I said with confidence, "I just know it!" I then wrapped my arms around him, apparently shocking him because I heard a small, sharp intake of breath. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around me too, and we enjoyed the moment while it lasted, which was honestly too short in my opinion. We stepped back from each other, my face as red as could be, and I waved goodbye before rushing inside to face my family. Mom was grinning like a Cheshire cat leaning against dad's shoulder, while said man was seated at the bar glaring at his tea.
"So, when am I going to meet these boys?" Mom asked, looking like she was enjoying this too much. "I assume that your father has already met them, since you said two were classmates, and that boy just now had the UA uniform. I don't want to ask his opinion, though," she motioned to dad, "cause he's a grouch."
"Just because I'm not an eternal optimist does not mean that I'm a grouch," Dad commented.
I lifted my brow at him, then looked at mom with a grin, "Sounds like a grouch to me."
We both broke into laughter when we heard him sigh, knowing he definitely rolled his eyes as well.
"Hurry up and get to bed, Hana, you have your internship tomorrow." He grumbled though I could see the ghost of an exasperated smile appear.
Pushing my luck, I tilted my head, "Ah, never mind, he's definitely a party pooper."
Mom snickered, glancing at the black mop of hair, "Oh yeah, a good ol' buzz kill. He was like this back in school, too, you know? Always with his rational attitude, until a stray cat comes along." She snorted, but suddenly her smile seemed to dim. Apparently, that wasn't the only thing that showed the shift in her mood, because dad's attention was now completely on her.
Tentatively, I tried to figure out if she was ok, "Mom?"
It was minimal, but I managed to notice her flinch, coming back to herself. "Ah, um…you know what, your dad's right, Hana, you have a lot waiting for you tomorrow. You should get plenty of rest for your exciting week!" Her false cheerful voice was strange to hear, and it made me feel nervous. Mom has never been like this except when dad had been injured by the Nomu.
I nodded, sending a quick questioning glance to my dad, but he only shook his head slightly. "Alright, well, goodnight guys."
"Goodnight, Hana." Dad drawled out, suddenly even more tired sounding.
Mom met me at the end of the bar, though, and gave me a gentle hug before sending me on my way, massively concerned.
.
.
The next morning arrived entirely too soon. I had last-minute packing to do, sadly, and I didn't even get to do much other than throw my uniform on, lazily tossing my hair into a messy bun with some shorter sections hanging loose similar to dad's signature look. Not to mention that I didn't get to have any coffee, meaning I was basically dragged to the school with dad so that I could grab my hero suitcase along with the rest of the class before we were to head to the station for the internships. When I say basically dragged, I mean dad had an irritated look on his face and a tight grip on my wrist as I grumbled along behind him.
We were a sight to see in the halls apparently, cause I spotted a few students laughing and whispering. My grouchy attitude thrived with my lack of coffee, which led to me flipping off a majority of the people I didn't recognize. I'll probably feel bad later about it, but at the moment, I couldn't bring myself to care.
Entering the classroom, we were greeted with most of the class already there, chatting with each other happily. I groaned, feeling dad's everyday frustration from the noise.
Kaminari's laugh was the first recognizable thing that I heard, the loudness making my eye twitch as I slumped into my seat. "Woah, Hana's really living up to the Aizawa name today, huh?"
"Dude, I can even see the family resemblance for once!" This time Sero laughed along with Kaminari.
My tired stare at the chalkboard slowly blurred, eyelids drifting closed, and my head thudding against the desk a second later. The two boys burst into even louder laughter that broke my sudden daze.
I took a deep breath, mumbling, "I am not responsible for tired-morning me," under my breath, and only the ones closest to my desk could possibly hear the statement before my head slowly turned, leveling a glare equivalent to Mr. Aizawa's glowing-quirk-eyes-glare onto the two who immediately cowered. "You can fuck right off."
"Eraser-Hana is scary!" Kaminari cried, clutching onto Sero.
"She kind of reminds me of Bakugo, now." The dark-haired boy semi-mumbled.
My response was a grumble, before lifting my head to lay it on my crossed arms to pillow my head unlike before. My grouchy attitude suddenly seemed to fade as I felt a semi-familiar feeling of a foot bump into my own that was instinctively curled up under my chair. What I didn't expect was for Katsuki to speak up about my grumpy self.
"Didn't get everything packed ahead of time, did you, idiot?" I could hear the smirk in his voice, and I huffed, "Don't know what Dunceface and Tapeface expected, though, you fall asleep in class all the time, there's no way you'd be a morning person."
"Didn't get my coffee~," I whined, only bothering to turn my head to face the windows. "Need caffeine…bean water from the heavens~."
My comments had caused more laughter, and I realized nearly everyone must be in the classroom by now. Thankfully, the buzz of conversation had become quiet background noise at this point, so I zoned out as I stared out the window for a bit only to get a sudden idea, sitting upright like I had been shocked, and pulled out my phone.
Me: Sir Mic, your princess has been denied her caffeinated, morning sustenance. Could you be so kind?
Bard: Ah! The king has been foolish enough to let it slip his mind? Shame on him!
A bit of coffee in your cup of creamer and sugar?
Me: You are the best! Thank you Uncle Mic!
Sir Mic: Will deliver in just a sec, but you don't have long before you guys leave. Drink fast but careful!
Setting my phone back into my bag, I glanced up at the tired eyes I could feel burning a hole in my head, smiling innocently.
"You have Mic bringing you coffee don't you…" Mr. Aizawa stated lowly.
"Not a clue what you mean, sir." I chirped, noticing the snickers and quiet comments about how my mood had made a 180-degree change.
At my statement, though, the loud blonde opened the door with an exclamation of "Princess, your caffeinated beverage!"
My face turned red, as I accepted the drink, taking a sip while grinning at Mr. Aizawa innocently. Our teacher glared at the blonde as he left only to turn his gaze on me. "Should've told him to bring me one, too."
I shrugged, "You could go get your own, you are a teacher after all."
He simply stared at me for a moment longer then sighed, looking out to the rest of the class, "We will be leaving in a few minutes, so make sure you have your hero suit and luggage beforehand."
.
.
A short bus ride later had us at the station, waiting for Mr. Aizawa to speak before we were to head to our respective trains. Everyone was talking to each other excitedly, and I couldn't help but feel a little bit more awake simply from the energy from my friends - the coffee earlier had helped, too, though.
"Looks like something's up with Ida," I glanced at Yukime when she spoke up, then looked over at the tall boy that was uncharacteristically quiet, seemingly deep in thought.
"Yeah," I nodded, though, I did notice that he started talking to Tsu and Uraraka as I spoke. "You're going to Hosu with him, right?"
My friend nodded and shifted her bag on her shoulder, "I think I might need to keep an eye on him, though. I know I'm not the best choice to keep someone from doing something stupid, but I do feel like I'd be one of the best bets to stop him forcefully if I need to."
"You're not wrong there," I laughed, remembering how quickly she had frozen him in place at the sports festival.
"I'm gunna go talk to the Deku-dweebs, before we have to leave," Yukime grinned cheekily at me, making me laugh.
"Yukime, you're one of the key members of the group now…that makes you a dweeb, too." My eyes met hers as I made my comment, only to feel a small cheeky grin of my own appear at what I could see in my peripheral vision. "Actually…I think you'll become the leader of the 'Deku-dweebs' really soon."
She looked confused, but I only shook my head. I didn't feel right for ousting Midoriya, though it was pretty funny to see his face turn red when he noticed me give him a small smirk at catching him staring, then flickering my eyes to Yukime. I guess this is why Shinso seems to enjoy making me blush, it's adorable!
"Alright, everyone gather up," Mr. Aizawa's voice cut over the noise of the station, and our class clustered together quickly. "You will all be on your best behavior when you get to each of the agencies. You may have your own reputation to think about, but also the school's reputation. Now, get going." His voice left no room for argument, so we all responded with "Yes sir!". Well…except Mina, who got scolded for responding with "Yeah~!"
I sent him a quick smile and a wave, then rushed over to give Katsuki and Eijiro a quick goodbye also. Eijiro gave me a hug, his fingers threading between mine for a moment before releasing my hand with a giant grin. Katsuki just about attacked me when I jumped on him for a hug, which sent me into a fit of laughter as he yelled "Would you get off me, dumbass!" I did comply, but not without giving his flushed face - likely from frustration - a smoosh then running away laughing as he lunged at me with a glare.
Uraraka was doubled over laughing when I finally bolted into the train since she had seen the strange goodbye with him. "Oh my gosh! How are you two soulmates?!"
I tapped my chin with my index finger in thought then shrugged, "Opposites attract? Or maybe I'm supposed to help mellow him out? Not working too well yet, though, if that's the case."
She shook her head at me, "No, you've started something, cause he does behave a little differently."
"Nah, he's still King Explosion Murder," I sputtered then the two of us burst into laughter only to be shushed by some office guy. We both went pink but quietly giggled to ourselves.
This was going to be a fun week.
