**Warnings will probably be more frequent for a bit here. We're getting into the mess, now. I will try my best to post any warnings that I think might cause problems, but I grew up reading without warnings so my brain doesn't recognize what should be mentioned and what shouldn't. - Possible uncomfortable descriptions of quirks' sensations/use, burn injuries, mention/witness of a panic attack, severe injury (to a clone), brief moment of drug injection - If there are more that I should specifically mention, let me know, please!**

Hana POV

.

Once I had finally woken up, the first thing I heard were apologies for letting the training go so far. Mandalay looked down at me worriedly and vaguely reminded me of my mom, which made me giggle lightly.

"It's fine, my limit is like this every time," I assured them, my dad nodded to back up my statement. "This time, though, I was able to do so much more! I'm so happy with the progress so far, and I thank you for working with me." My head quickly bowed down, partially so I wouldn't have to see her worry anymore.

"Well, if you're sure," she muttered then shifted to sit in the chair across the makeshift medical room, which drew my attention back to her, "I do want you to take it easy tonight. Your classmates should be close to finished preparing dinner for you all, feel free to join them."

I nodded before slowly standing from the bed. My head would for sure feel like I had it squashed by an elephant for a while, but I at least didn't feel drunk anymore. Dad had stopped me for a moment after I left the room to check on me, asking if I really was feeling alright, before he let me continue on my way, though.

The smell of some sort of curry cooking reached my nose before I even saw my classmates, and by the odd twinge of…something that drifted with the scent, I wouldn't be surprised if no one knew how to cook actual food.

"What are you guys burning out here?" I asked jokingly as I joined everyone outside, only to actually notice a burnt metallic smell just to my left, making my nose scrunch up.

"Hana!" Was cried out by multiple people, and I was immediately winded by both Mina and Ochako's bodies basically slamming into me.

"Thought I said to take it easy?" I looked up to see Yukime watching me from where she was knelt by her brother who was monitoring the fire for cooking.

Of course, I snorted at her then grinned, "Pot calling the kettle black, yeah? I'm sorry I worried you guys, but that's just what my limit is like once I get to it, it's always been that way."

"It makes sense, but it doesn't mean we have to like it," Mina grumbled once she had stepped back away from me.

Ochako however gave me a quick once over, turning my body slightly by shifting my shoulders, "You're sure you're fine? I only got to see a little…really blurry second of you before you collapsed, but also…well it was hard to see much considering the world was spinning and I needed to hurl."

I snorted and rolled my eyes, "I'm sure, and I think I should ask if you're fine? Honestly, everyone is pretty roughed up looking." My last comment accompanied my drifting gaze.

Sero was discretely holding his arms closer to the fire he was standing by, a slightly relieved expression softening his features from the usual snarky grin. Midoriya had a few smaller -for him- bandages littering the skin that was visible, as well as Sato and Ojiro. The majority of the others were visibly fine, just looked exhausted, and held themselves in a way that made it obvious they would definitely be sore tomorrow. Katsuki, Todoroki, and Yukime were the only three that didn't show anything other than a few red splotches on their skin, likely from irritation from heat and/or cold. It was easy to tell that they were more used to pushing beyond their limits.

"The food is ready!" Ida called above the other quiet noise, and we all happily moved over to the picnic tables to eat. The food wasn't fantastic, but after the day we all had I'm sure we would have eaten almost anything.

While I slowly picked at my food, though, I had a hard time keeping my mind from wandering back to training again. Part of me was excited about the prospect of working past my limit again, seeing how far I could go next. The rest of my mind was anxious. I didn't want to be so damn weak, but the training felt like so much more than what I could manage, I felt like a failure. Just thinking about it stirs a gross feeling in my gut, and I suddenly lost all of my appetite, setting my spoon down with a small sigh.

"Is everything alright, Aizawa?" Shoji's quiet question stopped my spiraling thoughts just before they were able to get out of control, and while I immediately recognized the look he was giving me, I really didn't want everyone worrying and pitying me.

I offered him a small smile. "Just not as hungry as I thought, and still kind of nauseous. It's nothing to worry about."

"You really did a lot of work today. I was pretty impressed how well you could work two quirks together, and for so long too."

"Yeah, after a little while, it just felt like it does when I take just one quirk. Maybe one day I can manage three, but I think that's just too much now." The feeling of the three quirks draining everything from me wasn't something I wanted to feel again, especially so soon. "I think, realistically, that could be looked into in third year."

He nodded as his mouthed tentacle arm smiled and nodded along. "Have you thought about what agency you might want to intern with next year?"

"Um…honestly, not really. I could easily try at either my dad's or go talk to Night Eye to be an intern under my mom. It might actually be more helpful to go with my mom so that I can learn more about her infiltration work." My answer was honest, though I would never admit to mom that I saw working with her as a logical thing to do.

"I would love to work with your mother, but I don't think I have an infiltration-based quirk like she does," Momo suddenly joined our conversation from behind us, so I turned to look at her.

"Oh, well, she also works with Mic at his radio station, but I'm not sure how much that would help with your training."

"Wait, so your mom does radio work and hero spy work?!" We were joined by Sero this time which drew the attention of Eijiro and Kami, the latter of the two was sitting across from the other three.

"Multi-talented mommy," the blonde said dreamily, again making his little pose where his chin rested between his thumb and index finger, which were both pointed along either side of his face.

"Don't get your hopes up, Kami," I laughed and shook my head, "you gotta remember who she's married to. Dad hears you talking about mom like that and you might just get worse study work to do along with what you already are about to have."

He groaned, slumping to the table, "Why did you have to remind me?!"

Eijiro and Sero laughed at their friend, though it was laced with understanding since they were going to have to go to the lesson along with him.

"Alright," speak of the devil, Mr. Aizawa's voice cut over the conversations suddenly, "those of you that have the extra lessons will be following Vlad and me to a classroom to begin our lessons, the rest of you need to get washed up then to bed. Tomorrow we know what to focus on for your training, so no more mistakes are made."

A resounding, "Yes sir" was given before the sounds of plates being picked up were heard. Thankfully, Mandalay told us not to worry about the full cleanup for tonight, but tomorrow night we would be expected to do that ourselves. I guess it was another slight relief they were giving us before we really were worn to the bone.

"Hey, have you seen Deku?" Yukime asked as she met up with me in the doorway.

After sending a quick glance around the picnic area, I realized there was definitely no sign of Midoriya. "No, I haven't, but I wasn't paying much attention to him, sorry. Surely one of the adults kept track of problem child number one."

We both chose to ignore the quiet snort from Katsuki who was a few feet in front of us. "That would make sense, but as one of the resident troublemakers, I can confirm that they can't watch all of us," Yukime said as she grinned at me.

"Midoriya went to take a plate of food to Kota, and you would be surprised, Himura."

Yukime jumped while I hardly reacted to the intrusion, both heads turning to land on Mandalay, who was smiling at us from across the room.

"I'm getting too used to her being in my head," I grumbled and my crimson-haired friend just laughed.

.

.

The next day was slightly easier on me since I chose to keep strengthening my ability with two quirks instead of risking another blackout by going to three at once. I wanted to stretch my time limit, knowing that would be crucial considering that I wouldn't be able to keep constant contact with a teammate in a real battle. Mr. Aizawa was walking around the class giving 'helpful advice' to the remedial group, and those that were closer to failing. He then addressed us all, telling us to keep in mind who we are, that that was why he was training us so hard.

I happened to be stationed with some of the class B students, experiencing their quirks for the first time, when the ridiculous blonde Pussycat announced that we would be doing a test of courage tonight, class against class.

Looking at Rin, who had just been explaining how he manipulates his scales, I shrugged. "I'm not counting that as an actual competition."

"Ah, but maybe a little fun competition is what we need after this." He then motioned for me to continue, and I shifted the muscles in my arm, feeling the scratching sensation of the scales forming along my forearm and hand. "Good, now to fire the scales, it's basically the same feeling, just more forceful. I think our teachers have been working us harder than they ever have any other class."

"Considering the villain activity, it makes sense," I aimed my arm straight forward at the rock formation in front of us, then fired a few of the sharp scales, amazed at how far they embedded into the rock on my first go. "Ha! I'm getting pretty good at this!"

He nodded with a smile. "You pick up on quirks really quickly, it's impressive."

Just as I went to thank him, Mandalay's voice interrupted, "You seem to have a handle on Rin's quirk, so try adding Tokage's Splitter quirk, too."

"Splitter quirk?" I muttered, looking around.

Rin pointed over to a girl with dark, murky-green hair. "Tokage is over there. They want you to move to her next?"

I shook my head then shrugged. "Yes and no. They want me to combine yours and her quirks. Sounds like an interesting pairing, though. Like mobile recon weapons…I like it."

We shared a quick wave and nod before I moved over to the girl…or at least part of her. "I, uh, I'm supposed to copy your quirk, but I wanted to check before I just, you know, touched your face."

All that hovered in front of me was the girl's head that turned to smile widely at me, her sharp teeth reminding me of Eijiro a little. "Yeah, go for it."

I should be used to odd things by now, what with quirks being normal, but…a floating head…that talks just fine without the body. Yup, that's cool.

Carefully, I kept my hold on Rin's quirk while gently pulling from Tokage via her cheek. After a quick explanation, I was spreading my arms out into separate sections - weirding myself out, might I add - while sending scales across my skin. It was just like I thought, though, I could use each segment of my arms like its own little armed drone, and protect it at the same time. This was another dream combination that made me wish that I could possibly stockpile quirks as well. Having quirks stored in an internal filing cabinet for whenever they were needed would be such a fantastic ability.

Getting a little curious, I used the Splitter quirk and slowly felt my head separate from my neck, hovering an inch or two above it like a strange spaceship or something. It was possibly the oddest feeling quirk I had dealt with yet, considering I still felt like everything was attached yet knew the segments were floating around, disorganized, and feet away from each other.

"This is going to be terrifying in a dark forest at night," I chuckled as my head spun around to look behind me at Tokage who laughed along with me.

"Yeah, just imagine," suddenly there was a tap on my shoulder, making me spin my head back around only to see a hand wiggling its fingers at me.

"Oh, no, that's creepy but fantastic. All of the things you could do with your quirk, Tokage, it's amazing."

"You're just flattering me now!" She laughed at the same time as her fingers split off from her hand to speed around my head. "Keep on doing it, I love it!"

These 1-B kids weren't too bad overall. A few were a little bitter towards 1-A, but after a while of talking to me, they seemed to at least tolerate me. That Monoma, guy though…

"Would you look at that, 1-A gracing us with their presence," he laughed obnoxiously loudly, "What, did you think we were easier to copy?"

I let my body reattach itself before turning to the blonde that was blinking a little too heavily in an attempt to seem intimidating…maybe?

"I wonder…" I muttered before I let go of the two quirks, then smacked the other copy quirk user upside the head. I was curious if his quirk was close to the same as mine, or if maybe it was different.

"What was that about 1-A?!"

I rolled my eyes, already feeling his quirk shift through me. "My name is Aizawa to you, and you should really respect that. Also, I was trying something." I paused, looking at my hands curiously. "It really does feel different. Tokage, mind lending a hand real quick?"

Her hand flew over, splayed open for a quick high-five before flying back over to her body. I had used Monoma's quirk to copy hers and was surprised by the difference between the pull of his power. There was no nausea or disorientation at all, and I could feel my expression lifting from bland curiosity to slight excitement.

"Can you copy two quirks?" I looked up to see the blonde staring at me like I was crazy for a moment.

"I've tried, but the first always tends to vanish before I can do it." He eyed me suspiciously before continuing, "Why?"

"It seems like you have fewer and less severe physical drawbacks than I do, but you have a more strict usage of it. It's interesting. How long can you keep the quirk up? I've been working on mine and I've got up to ten minutes with just one quirk, but it backlashes with a lot of nausea and dizziness. I can get two for around five minutes with the same effect."

Monoma was quiet for a few seconds, calculating and thoughtful, then he seemed almost curious as well. "Only for five minutes so far, but none of that nasty stuff." Now it was his turn to look at his hands, then back to me. "How do you get two to work at once, Aizawa?" His voice was much quieter than normal, almost embarrassed, which made sense with the tinting of red along the tips of his ears.

I could only stare at him for a little bit before smiling brightly. Quirk talk is something I could easily do, especially with one so similar to my own. Maybe…maybe this guy wasn't so bad.

.

.

Thankfully, the end of training was much easier on me than it had been the day before, not that it was an easy day of training because I was still exhausted and felt drunk yet again. Thankfully, my friends assigned me an easy job while they were cooking, so I wouldn't hurt myself or others. I was simply told to wash off vegetables, and I could manage that even while wobbly.

"Wow, look at Bakugo chop those vegetables!"

I paused my washing to turn to see what Ochako was talking about, and was pleasantly surprised. Katsuki was chopping with the precision and speed of a professional chef, all while shouting over his shoulder about how easy it was. I shuffled over, noticing that Eijiro had paused with what he was doing to look our way too, and I observed from in front of Katsuki.

There was a sudden growl that tore my attention from the cutting board, quickly locking onto the red eyes in front of me. "What do you want, Copy Cat? You shitty with a knife too?"

"It may be easy to you, but to some, it's not easy to cut things around the same size every time and so quickly too." I looked down then back up from the now diced veggie. "I just thought it was impressive."

He scoffed dismissively, "Like I said, it's easy as hell. You'd have to be completely blind to be bad with a knife."

"You guys all have so much energy," Eijiro groaned from one of the tables nearby where he was setting down cups with water in them.

I snorted, "Bold of you to assume that I ever have energy. By the way, I will likely be comatose at home after this camp is over."

Ochako giggled, "Me too!"

"I'll be out for like a month after this!" Kami whined from the second table, where he was putting down spoons and forks.

"Ha! You idiots are just wimps." Katsuki scoffed before setting his knife down and picking up the cutting board to go to where the food was being cooked.

"I wonder if he'll ever chill," Kami muttered, staring at Katsuki's back.

I shook my head only to have Eijiro speak up, "Man, I'm not even sure he'll ever even warm up to us."

Kami looked confused for a second then recognition flashed in his eyes, "Oh shit, that's right! He's you and Hanzawa's soulmate, right?"

Eijiro glanced at me but I just shrugged "It's more of a mutual agreement to tolerate us so his bond doesn't sever and cause problems."

Ochako looked at us confused, "What? But…you call him by his given name, right? That should mean something, right?"

It was my turn to glance at Eijiro as he shifted uncomfortably. "I, um…I'm not sure what it means, but it's only me that does. He seems to get along with Eijiro better than he does me, though."

"Hey, that's not true, Hana," I looked up from my feet to see Eijiro's apologetic gaze on me. "He just needs to accept us and hang out too."

Mina's sudden snort snapped all of our attention to her as she joined our small group. "Like you and Hana just 'hang out'. You two are adorable but freaking stupid."

"Hey!" Eijiro gaped, but I couldn't hold in a little laugh.

"I'm fine with things the way they are, though, Mina." I smiled at her and shrugged one shoulder, "I mean, we've got time to figure things out right?"

A smirk crawled onto her lips, and she shot a look to Eijiro before looking back at me, "Hey Hana, you know, there was a friend of my mom's that had two soulmates. Those three guys had the sweetest relationship, and their wedding was beautiful. They all got married to each other, and the guy marrying them started getting confused with names at one point."

Eijiro's face matched his hair, and I'm sure mine wasn't much better. "Gee, that's…that's nice, Mina!" I quickly turned away when she, Ochako, and Kami started laughing and looked around for Momo.

"Ah! Momo!" I bolted, avoiding the awkwardness that was building, and latched onto the taller girl.

"Oh, hello, Hana!" She smiled, her eyes meeting Mina's before she looked back at me. "What can I help you with?"

"I was…uh, was wondering if food was ready yet?"

She laughed lightly, nodding, "Yes, I think it should be cooled off enough by now." She then flagged down Ida to get everyone gathered to eat.

The stew wasn't fantastic, but it was better than the curry from the night before. I was nervous about this test of fear thing we were doing, though. The worst part, the remedial group had to go have lessons with Mr. Aizawa, meaning I was left without Eijiro to keep me company. Mina's pleas to let them relax were blatantly ignored by my dad as he pulled the group away with his support weapon. I do wonder how that thing is so multifaceted and have more than once thought about training with something similar.

Once they had disappeared into the building, the Pussycats rounded up both classes close to the edge of the forest, a small circle of logs laid out as seats for us while we waited for B class to get set up. Most of my class seemed excited yet nervous about the 'fun' test we were about to do, but others were visibly shaking *coughAoyamacough*.

"Alright, everyone, draw a number from the box, and pair up with your teammate!"

I was positioned in the middle of the line to have a reasonable chance of being more surprised by who I would be paired with. To be honest, I was hoping for someone a bit more…resilient, like Shoji, Tsu, or maybe even Todoroki. Reality was even kinder than I could have hoped as Yukime drew the same number as me before smirking as she waltzed over to me.

"Fancy meeting you here, lovely lady"

"Pfft, you won't be so happy when we're out there," I laughed and motioned to the trees. "I don't deal with jumpscares well, and either freak out or punch people."

Her smirk changed to a maniacal grin. "Sounds fantastic, so don't hold it against me when I laugh at you every time, 'cause I'm an asshole to easily scared people."

I paused, blinking at her for a moment with an empty stare only to shrug, saying, "Eh, that's fair."

Moments later, the last number was essentially given to poor Midoriya, who was the odd-man-out that would have to go by himself through the 'trial'. Katsuki tried to demand that Yukime trade me for her brother, but her response was one I expected after our little conversation.

"Fuck no," she snorted while pulling me closer to herself, almost defensively, "First, my bestie, and second, Shoto is boring when it comes to scary things. Look at him," she gestured to the blank stare he was giving the group, "It's like trying to scare an inanimate object. I would rather have someone to laugh at, so no deal, blondie."

Katsuki growled, glaring at Yukime which had little effect. "What the hell did you just-"

"I'm going to go with Yukime, Katsuki, you need to cooperate with more of our classmates." My comment wasn't appreciated, apparently, as I earned my own glare that made my stomach clench up slightly. "I'll be fine," I added, quietly.

That didn't settle well, apparently, because he bristled at my last comment. "Hah?! Who said I was worried about that shit?!" He then spun to drag Todoroki along behind him into the forest once their team number was called.

.

.

"Ugh, what is his problem?!" Yukime groaned, "It's like he has a personal vendetta against literally everyone."

I started to make my own comment but was interrupted by our number being called.

Yukime turned to me, a smug grin present before holding her hand out. "Want me to hold your hand, baby girl?"

Without so much as a breath of hesitation, I answered, "You know, holding your hand sounds fine, actually. Logically, it might be enough to keep me grounded while we walk the path."

A sputtered laugh filled the air as we disappeared into the trees, my hand actually clasping the colder one for safety.

"This isn't supposed to be anything actually dangerous, why are you taking it so seriously?"

I shrugged, "I'm not really sure. That's just how I was taught, to take all situations seriously."

Yukime's eyes narrowed at me. "Or maybe - just hear me out - maybe you get Aizawa brain when you're scared?"

My cheeks warmed quickly and I looked away from her while unconsciously gripping her hand tighter. "It-it's a possibility." Hearing her laughter I huffed and bumped into her shoulder with my own.

"Man, I gotta say…I was pretty worried U.A. would be full of a bunch of people with sticks up their asses. Endeavor always painted this obnoxious picture," she scoffed then shook her head, "Like everyone would be like he is, have the same ideals. Ugh, even thinking about it makes my skin crawl."

"He's that bad, huh?" My question was met with a solid nod. "When we ran into him at the sports festival…that wasn't even the first time I dealt with him, but it still caught me off guard. How could he say the things he did about his own children? Acting like one of you is better than the other…it's not right."

"You're preaching to the wrong person, Hana. He's never been kind, but he's a totally different person in his hero work. Like…he at least saves strangers decently. His own family, though…" her sentence drifted off as her eyes wandered, though a moment later her brows furrowed. "It's really quiet for a supposed scare test."

We both stopped, looking around at our surroundings like we could possibly see much further than a few feet. She was right, it was quiet, and we really should have seen someone from the other class by now. Yukime's hand quickly squeezed mine twice, and I immediately copied her quirk before letting go. Thankfully, with the training we had been doing, neither of us was really bothered by the drain.

Yukime turned away from me just slightly, though she kept close enough to almost whisper what she was thinking. "Somethings not right. I'm gunna drop the temp nearby and we'll see if anything is affected. We hear anything, we trap the feet first."

"Then get eyes on them before securing their hands," I muttered back, already feeling the air temperature drop a few degrees. "Got it."

She didn't drop the temperature too fast, but it was enough that anyone not prepared would typically be caught off guard. If it was just a part of the test, then bravo to class B, but that just was not a safe plan against our class. Fighting actual villains made us react differently than the other classes would.

Just as the cold started to really become unbearable to me, there was a noise to my left. Both of our attention snapped directly to the location, ice trails following suit. Another noise broke the near silence, and whatever had happened made Yukime hum smugly.

"Got ya."

"You sure you got me?"

The voice was deep and really rough, sending a chill down my spine that had nothing to do with the cold.

'How is he behind us?!' I thought in shock.

We both wheeled around, but Yukime was quicker to react than I was. A spear of ice shot from the air, launched in the direction we heard the voice only for it to be met with a large plume of blue flame that instantly melted it.

"Great reaction time, kid, but you're going to have to try harder than that against me."

There, just in the edge of the trees around ten feet away, was a man with spiky, black hair. His long, torn and stitched back together coat shifted with every move he made, while his baggy white shirt just hung limply. His whole 'bad guy' look was completed with a pair of black pants and black combat boots. His outfit was almost as ragged looking as he was, since what looked like half of his skin, even on his face, was highly damaged from what I could only assume were burn wounds.

Yukime snorted at his comment then sneered darkly at him. "I'm not afraid of a few flames, you glorified hobo."

The man eyed her for a moment before he let out a quiet chuckle. "Sure you're not, after all, you are a Todoroki, right?"

My eyes flickered over to Yukime when I noticed her visibly flinch then she shifted into a battle-ready stance.

"I have no association with that overgrown gorilla, and you would be smart to not bring him up again!" She snarled viciously, ice already crawling up her arms in relatively large spikes. "Hana!"

"Got it!" I called back just as I sent a pillar of my own ice shooting from the ground toward the man, who of course sent a huge burst of flames at it. We had expected this, though, and Yukime had darted to the side before launching her own attack. The man barely glanced over at her before melting her attack as well.

Of course, it would be us that manage to be against a villain with searing hot flames with us only having ice. I let out a small scoff at our luck, then glanced around. It really seemed to only be him against us. Maybe we could distract him and run back down the path to the camp? That would be ideal, especially with his quirk, we wouldn't want him to set the whole forest on fire.

Icy blue eyes seemed to lock onto mine while I tried to mentally communicate with Yukime about my plan B. "Oh, no you don't, kid." He muttered before a wall of flames billowed from both his hands. This guy was playing with us, he had to be, as he circled the clearing with flames that quickly spread to the surrounding area.

"Shit," Yukime was glaring at the man, but I could see her eyes glancing around at the flames, something seeming to flicker in them that wasn't the reflections of the fire.

"Yukime, we've got this, alright!" I called out to her and saw her nod sharply. Just as I was forming a large ice rod similar to the iron post I used on our first day, a familiar voice filled my head.

"Everyone! We are under attack! There are two villains here, but there may be more nearby. All students that are in the forest should get back to the camp now! Do not, and I repeat, do not engage any villains. Retreat as quickly as you can!"

Yukime let out a scoff, still crouched and ready for an attack that didn't seem to be coming yet. "Little late for that, cat lady," She muttered under her breath.

I shivered as a chill ran down my spine, realizing that this might be a repeat of the USJ attack.

"So, you said your friend there was… Hana, right?" The man's voice was completely unsettling as he then turned his attention to my crimson-haired friend. "Well isn't that convenient! We're actually looking for some Hana girl. What was her name, hmm, oh right! Aizawa."

Yukime and I looked at each other in shock only for us to jump further apart as another plume of blue flames filled our vision and sent a drastic leap in the temperature around us, making it swelteringly hot.

"Shit, Hana, get out of here! I can hold him back myself." Yukime shouted before a whirlwind of powder snow whipped through the air to smother the flames.

I shook my head, "No, two against one is better odds!"

The man chuckled, but the sound was far from warm. "Oh? You would think the odds are in your favor, but what happens," his head tilted to the side a bit, eyes seeming to glow brighter for a moment before he unleashed an even bigger inferno around us, "if I were to be too much for you two to manage alone?"

The ice that had crawled up Yukime's arm started to melt with the heat, and it honestly looked like her breathing was becoming erratic. I chewed on my lip for a second, noting in the back of my mind that I was beginning to sweat pretty heavily, before slinging my hand towards the villain, a massive shield of ice blocking his vision as I darted over to my friend. I didn't think it through, though, as a burst of flames melted my wall easier than it had done with Yukime's. I was able to dodge last second, but not without getting my left arm and a section of my hair burnt by the attack.

"Hana!" I heard Yukime's cry quickly turn into a snarl while she instinctively attacked, "You focus on me!"

The villain dodged, but not nearly quickly enough, as he was speared through the chest and stomach by the barrage of spikes she had sent his way. The two of us gasped, and I could see Yukime in my peripheral covering her mouth, eyes wide in disbelief.

"I…I didn't."

Dark and honestly disturbing laughter filled the air around us as the inferno seemed to grow yet again.

"Oh, look. at. that." the villain's voice sounded normal at first before it warbled and sounded like he was trying to speak but something was in his throat semi-blocking the words. "What a hero! Killing a nasty villain like me without a second thought."

The temperature was suddenly going back and forth from freezing cold to sweltering hot from the fire as Yukime started to go into full-blown panic, large clouds of mist filling the air as she started to hyperventilate. "I didn't mean-"

"Yu-Yukime, it's…" I couldn't think. What would we do? This shouldn't have happened.

Just then, the villain's body shifted, slumping to the side in an oddly liquid way before it seemed to suddenly become a mud-like substance that slid to the ground with a sickening 'plop' sound. Yukime didn't seem to notice, now likely falling into a panic attack as she stumbled backward. Haunted eyes darted around the flames as her hands gripped at her hair.

"No…no no no ! It's…it's too hot! Too hot!"

"Yukime! He wasn't real ! It had to be some sort of body-double quirk or something!" My words fell on deaf ears when she suddenly collapsed to her knees. I clenched my fist, glancing at my burnt arm when I realized that I couldn't feel it just yet, then I ran over to her slumped form. "Yukime, come on! We need to go!"

Again, I wasn't reaching her, her pupils had dilated and become so unfocused that I was amazed she could keep them open with how bright the flames were. Desperation had me looking around at the walls of fire around us.

"We have to get back," I muttered. Bracing myself, I tried to create the powder snow whirlwind Yukime had earlier, but the heat almost immediately evaporated it. My ice just wasn't at the same level as hers at this point. Flames were closing in quickly, and thick smoke had filled the air long ago. My throat itched with the urge to cough, but I shook it off. Again, I tried to make the powder snow but was met with the same result, so I growled and sent a wave of ice through the flames, trying to copy the ramp that Yukime had made in the sports festival despite the fact that I could feel her quirk slipping from me. If I couldn't make the ramp because of the quirk wearing off, then we were completely out of luck.

I gasped, coughing lightly and laughing in shock as ice crawled up into a decent ramp and smothered the flames in a space nearby. "It worked! Come on Yukime, we can get back to dad, and one of the Pussycats can help you out, alright?"

My little victory was short-lived, though, because once we were about halfway up the slick ramp, it was shattered, making us tumble to the ground painfully.

"Now, now, you didn't really think we'd let our target get away, did you?" This time it was a feminine voice that spoke up, and I managed to sit up, looking to the side to see a masked woman leaning against a burning tree, the visible half of her face smirking and her body language was almost bored looking.

"A little close to the flames, Blitz?"

My heart seemed to stop for a second at the second voice, my eyes dragging over to see the villain that had just broken down into a pile of muck.

A chuckle came from the new villain and the way she spoke was almost taunting, "Oh, but Dabi, I like to play with fire."

I could just barely hear Yukime muttering about the flames being too hot and something else, but my mind was so overwhelmed that it was hard to focus much less keep track of what I should do next.

The man, Dabi I guessed, rolled his eyes stepping closer to the two of us. Trying to stand was quickly knocked off my list of possibilities as my ankle buckled once I put weight on it. 'I must have sprained or twisted it, shit!' I grazed Yukime's arm with my leg, grateful that I could activate my quirk for the moment, but regretted it when I felt the wave of disorientation. Shaking my head in an attempt to block it out, I flung my arm toward the villains, who had to step back, while the Dabi guy melted the ice.

"Everyone in classes A and B, you have full permission to fight back! We have also identified that they have multiple targets! A student known as Kacchan and Hana Aizawa! Kacchan and Aizawa need to avoid battle at all costs, and do not need to be moving alone! Everyone got that?!"

My heart stuttered and my stomach clenched painfully as I listened to the message in my head, and I couldn't keep the gasp in at the identity of the other target. "Katsuki?!" With slightly renewed energy, I pushed myself to stand then shot a rod of ice from my hand to act as a crutch before angrily shooting the thickest wall of ice that I could muster. Yes, it backlashed pretty hard, thick ice crawling up my arms that stung yet cooled me off nicely, but it was worth it as they seemed to struggle with the ice finally.

"Yukime, snap out of it, please! I need your help here!" I knew she was going through something, but I couldn't be considerate of that at the moment.

The crimson-haired girl blinked, unfocused eyes finding me somehow, and she started to shift like she was going to stand up. "I…I'm sorry. It's so…It's so hot, Hana." As she stumbled toward me, I noticed her arm curled around her stomach, and I instantly knew what was going on, but that didn't mean that I was prepared for what she said next.

"Hana…it's so hot. I'm sorry…s-sorry. Please, don't…don't let him burn me again. I don't wanna…"

"Yuki-" Our window for escape was up as the flames finally burst through the wall of ice, and I heard a dark chuckle.

"Sound's like you should just come with us so we can end this girl's trauma for the night," Dabi said, though the smirk he wore didn't seem to match the eagerness that he had earlier. "What do you say, little hero?"

The woman, Blitz, followed behind him through the gap in the ice wall, though she did nothing to hide the thin line that her mouth had formed. "Look kid, this shit is getting boring, so stop fighting back. You're up against two adults that have a better grasp on their quirks than you do. Plus, we know how yours works, and with Dabi's fire…you'll never get close enough to do anything to us. If you tap the ice queen again, you might just cause more damage than good. Not to mention you're burnt pretty badly and can't stand on your own."

My eyes kept flickering between them and Yukime, who had sunk back down to the ground with her head in her hands. A sudden explosion behind me had me spinning to look over my shoulder, and that was enough of a distraction for the two villains, apparently, since the next thing I knew, I felt someone behind me.

"This won't hurt much, I promise," was whispered into my ear before I felt a sharp sting on my neck and darkness almost instantly took over my vision.

At Camp

Aizawa knew things were going to get out of control as soon as he heard that villains had attacked the group in the woods. When he had to face the villain with out-of-control flames, though, he felt a cold dread fill him. Flashes of the USJ attack and a long-suppressed memory tried to surface, though he pushed them down so that he could focus on the task at hand. Vlad was definitely good enough to take care of the kids that were in the building once Aizawa took out the…clone? Whatever it was, it was still a formidable opponent for a short time. Once Midoriya had shown up, though, was when things felt like they were falling apart instead of getting sorted out like Aizawa had hoped would happen.

Of course the green-haired boy would be the one that had stepped out of the treeline heavily battered, and running on adrenaline alone. The poor kid that Midoriya had brought to him was so worried about his personal hero, and Aizawa let out a huff, saying the boy would be fine. He would definitely face trouble, but once the chaos was over, he suggested that the kid should tell Midoriya thank you to make up for all the trouble he would be in.

Moments later, Aizawa's message telling the students to fight back was broadcast through his mind, and he felt a slight sigh of relief escape him. He knew this wasn't over, but he also knew that these kids were more than capable of at least holding off the villains until help arrived. His relief was short-lived, though, when another message passed through from Mandalay.

"We have also identified multiple targets! A student known as Kacchan and Hana Aizawa! Kacchan and Aizawa need to avoid battle at all costs, and do not need to be moving alone! Everyone got that?!"

He stumbled over his own feet for a split second, brows pulling down as he felt like he had been dunked into a numbing ice bath. 'Hana is a target?! And Bakugo too?! Why?' His jaw clenched, his teeth gritting together painfully, but he kept his grip on the boy secure yet gentle as he continued running. Bakugo would definitely fight back, even though he was told not to, and honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if Hana did the same. She would at least consider following instructions beforehand, though. Bakugo, on the other hand, might see it as a challenge to not listen, but Aizawa knew that deep down, this boy would be scared which would fuel the fire to fight back as well.

Then another worrying thought occurred to him, if Hana was a target, the two boys would definitely feel a need to protect her, and vice-versa. Those three were going to do their best to have each other's backs as any other soul-bonded couple or group would, and that was extremely dangerous in a situation like this. At the sudden taste of blood, Aizawa noticed that he had bit into his cheek hard enough to split the thin skin inside his mouth.

"W-wait…Aizawa…that's your name, isn't it?" He couldn't lie, the boy's voice suddenly cutting through the eerie crackling of the fire and the distant sounds of fights had caused Aizawa to flinch slightly.

"Yes." His answer was curt, but he didn't know if he could muster up much more.

The boy didn't seem to notice though, and he clenched onto the man's scarf tighter. "Is that-?"

Aizawa swallowed down the lump in his throat, another explosion sounding in the distance. "Yes."
