After what happened at the Jewellery store, backup arrived, only to see the two weasels unconscious on the ground, and Judy just sitting there looking shocked. After taking the two weasels away Judy told them what happened.
"Wait, so Wilde just went with her willingly?" Bogo asked confused.
"Yes. After that lioness touched him, he just pushed me aside and went with her like some mindless follower?" Judy confirmed. "And he called me a…... Stupid Rodent!"
That instantly caused some gasps from the police officers.
"He said that?" Pennington said in shock.
"Yes," Judy replied.
"That doesn't sound like Wilde," Bogo recalled.
Just then Officer Mchorn showed up.
"Sir, we identified the two weasels," Mchorn informed him. "The weasels are Edward Stoon and Carson Fallon. They are upstanding citizens, they work as engineers and help their communities, but were reported missing yesterday by their families."
"Once they wake up, we'll interrogate them," Bogo commented.
"Also, when the lioness got close to Nick, I could have sworn their eyes glowed green," Judy remembers.
"Their eyes glowed?" Bogo asked.
"I think so," Judy tried to remember.
"Well Hopps, I recommend you head home for now. Pennington, Prowlson, kindly escort her," Bogo asked the elephant and tiger.
"But sir…" Judy tried to reason with Bogo, but Prowlson stopped her.
"Sorry Judy, but Chief's orders," Prowlson said.
"Come on Jude, lunch is on us," Pennington offered.
The three officers left the area.
Judy, Francine and Theresa went over to a nearby diner where they ordered some pancakes. Pennington and Prowlson were sitting at a booth, while Judy sat on a small table and chair.
"Isn't this nice, the three of us hanging together," Francine said.
"Nick did say I should hang out with you guys more often," Judy said, which got her depressed again.
"Don't worry Judy, we'll find him and sort it out with him," Francine said as she put her trunk on Judy's shoulder.
"Thanks, guys," Judy thanked the two women.
Just then Theresa's phone started ringing, which made her answer it.
"Officer Prowlson," Theresa said into the phone, … "What?" … "She was there?" … "What about Bogo and the others?" … "They attacked you and left with her!?" … "We'll be there soon." Soon she hung up and got up.
"What's going on?" Judy asked.
"That was Spotting," Theresa explained. "That lioness you described was just at the precinct, and all the boys just followed her out."
"What!?" they both said.
"Waiter, we're gonna have to cancel that order!" Prowlson said as the three women officers left the diner.
They made their way towards the precinct and entered to find that it was mostly women who were clearing up what looked like a brawl happened inside.
The three approached a cheetah wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, a brown leather jacket, and a detective badge around her neck.
"Detective Kori Spotting," Theresa said as they approached the cheetah, who noticed them coming in.
"You three sure missed the fun," Spotting said as they approached.
"So, what happened?" Judy asked.
"That lioness you described came in, and next thing we knew, all of our men that came near her started acting like her personal flying monkeys," Spotting informed them.
"Just like Nick," Judy muttered as she closed her eyes.
"Did she take anything?" Francine asked.
"She took the jewellery that was confiscated earlier," Spotting told them.
"So, what do we do now?" Judy asked.
"I'll tell you!" a voice called out to them.
They turned to see a female elephant wearing a police uniform. Francine instantly recognised her.
"Aun… Chief Lontrun!" Francine said as she saw the female elephant and held out her trunk. "It's been a while."
"Oh, Francine stop that," Lontrun said as she pulled her into a hug.
"Pleasure to see you again," Theresa said as she held out her paw, which Lontrun shook.
Lontrun then looked down to see Judy.
"Judy Hopps, we meet at last, heard a lot about you," Lontrun said as she held her trunk out. "Chief Abigale Lontrun, Precinct 7, Rainforest District."
"And my Auntie," Francine briefly said.
"A pleasure to meet you, ma'am," Judy greeted her.
"I came as soon as I heard what happened," Lontrun said. "So, Chief Bogo just followed her without question? Chief Andrew Bogo?!"
"Sounds like you know him pretty well," Judy asked.
"Andrew and I were at the academy together," Lontrun explained. "We both graduated with top marks. We were partners on the field until I got transferred to precinct 7. I was a bridesmaid at his wedding, and he was a groomsman at mine. But now I hear he just drops protocol and runs off with a random lioness."
"Along with the other men in the precinct," Theresa said as she indicated the room.
"How did she do it?" Francine wondered.
"Well, I did pick up on something," a new voice came in.
She was a young red panda wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, a grey hoodie and a pair of glasses. She came in holding a tablet.
"Jemma Reddin, cyber security for ZPD," the red panda introduced herself.
"I've heard of you," Judy said as she shook her paw. "You're that formerly convicted hacker until you agreed to help the ZPD with that cyber threat. After which, you agreed to serve the remainder of your sentence by working for the ZPD."
"Yep, that's me," Jemma replied. "But those people I hacked deserved it."
"I was a bit reluctant but she's been very helpful," Lontrun stated on the panda's behalf.
"Anyway, what did you find out?" Judy asked
"I was here when the lioness was here," Jemma began to explain. "I scanned her with my tablet, and it detected some sort of energy radiating from her body."
Jemma showed them the readings from the tablet.
"What kind of energy is it?" Francine asked.
"I'm not sure," Jemma answered. "But with these readings, I was able to find this laboratory."
Jemma revealed the location on her tablet.
"And what's special about it?" Francine asked.
"The lab does experiments on DNA and genetics. And also, the waves I've been scanning that were coming from the lioness, they appear to originate from that location," Jemma explained.
"So that's where we might learn more about that lioness," Lontrun recommended.
Judy then looked at Francine and Theresa, she knew what to do.
"We'll go," Judy declared, much to everyone's surprise.
"What?" Lontrun asked.
"Me, Prowlson and Pennington. Let us investigate that lab," Judy asked.
"I'm not sure…" Lontrun said unsure but was interrupted by Judy.
"Ma'am, most of our officers are under her control now, and it's only a matter of time before a lot more are under that lioness' control," Judy pointed out.
After thinking for a moment, Lontrun gave her answer.
"Very well. Officers Hopps, Pennington and Prowlson, you three head down to that lab and find out anything about that lioness," Lontrun ordered.
"Yes ma'am," Judy saluted. She then turned to Francine and Theresa. "You girls up for this?"
"I'm in," Francine said.
"Me too," Theresa agreed as well.
"Then let's do some investigating," Judy declared.
A.N. And that was the fourth chapter. So, Bogo and all the other men in Precinct one have fallen for her influence. Now the girls will have to take care of it, and they know where to start.
How will it go? Find out next time.
Stay well, everyone.
