"Personally, I think you should enter a bid in for an exhibit. Imagine your proposal winning, then you'd get to lord it over that self-righteous bitch." Beth said as she dug into her Chinese food.
"When will I get to do that? In the brief moment before she kills me?" Sarcastically questioning.
"Come on you have so many awesome ideas in that brain of yours. You deserve the chance to show what you've got. Don't let Diana kill your vibe." Beth said.
"Plus you don't really have a choice since Jude cornered you about it." She added empathically.
"I know." Groaning out "But it's like I said I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. If I don't submit an idea, Jude will be upset. If I do, Diana will make my life miserable."
Stuffing my face with more orange chicken seemed to be the only solution.
"Dottie you can't let Diana dictate how you work. If you do you'll stay where you are forever and she just ends up winning. It's completely unethical the way she treats you. It's time she gets a taste of her own medicine."
"She hasn't broken you yet and that's what she can't stand," Beth said sternly.
Dropping my head back I stared at Beth "Guess I don't have much of a choice do I?"
"Nope." She replied, "But you do have a choice on how much you put into your work and how much you're going to kick Diana's ass."
I was silent while I thought.
I really had no choice. I had to submit something.
"Well, I've never been one to do things half-assed. If I'm going to submit a proposal then I'm going to submit a damn good one." Breaking into a smile.
"Yeah!" Beth cheered "To quote John Laurens, that's what I'm talking about!"
"Speaking of John Laurens can we start Hamilton now?" After my giggles had subsided.
"Go ahead, my dear." Beth waved her hand and I pressed play.
After twenty minutes into the movie, Beth interrupted, "Now onto our second topic of discussion. The Avenger next door who is making your head spin."
"Beth I don't know how long I can keep this up. Every time I know he is lying to me it just twists into my gut." Dropping my head into my hands.
"I just want to tell him I know. But then at the same time, I think what's the point?"
"What do you mean?" Beth asked me.
"I mean what's the point in worrying about all this, about him? It's not going to lead anywhere." Dejectedly getting out.
"You don't know that." Beth came closer and wrapped an arm around me.
"Yes, I do. He's Clint Barton. He's an Avenger for God's sake! He's not going to live next door to me forever." Rubbing a hand over my face "He's going to leave sooner or later."
"Yeah but maybe you can still make it work once he goes back to…avenging." She offered.
"Oh sure, what will that look like?" Snorting "Me waiting for him to come home after going on lethal missions to the Congo or somewhere else. Or having aliens come down and attack New York again. I'm not the type to sit around and wait for a man. He's going to be off on his missions and I'll be here in D.C."
"Look Dottie I'm going to tell you something and you may not like it." She said and I instantly steeled myself for a no-bullshit talk.
"Your whole life you've been playing it safe. It's understandable because of what happened to you and your mom because of that scumbag Ted. You want to be normal, play by the rules, and just live an ordinary life because of the things in your past. But what if that's not in the cards for you?" She questioned.
"What if you're not meant to be normal but extraordinary." She smiled at me "You can't live life without taking risks. Now I don't want to see you get hurt, believe me, if anyone hurts you I'll be right in line to kick their asses, superhero or not." Beth winked.
"You like Clint. I mean you really like Clint. I've never seen you this way about a guy. It's like you're-you're helpless." Beth beamed a toothy grin.
"Oh God." Laughing as she made the Hamilton reference.
"What if Clint is your Alexander Hamilton, and you're Eliza and you're meant to be together!"
Behind her, Helpless began to play on the TV.
"Oh for Fuck's sake!" Groaning out.
The universe was being a little too on point for me at the moment.
"See it's fate!" She jumped up and down. "Even Hamilton has blessed this union!" She yelled excited.
"You seem to be forgetting that Hamilton cheated on Eliza." Deadpanning to Beth.
"Yeah but that's not going to happen to you. If he ever cheated on you, I'd cut his balls off." She waved "You'll be happy and fantastic, without the illicit affair."
"Well, when you put it like that." Musing sarcastically.
"Dottie, just have fun okay." Beth got serious again "You like him, he likes you. When it's right you will bring it up. Work everything out then. For now, just laugh with each other. Make jokes. Share kisses, and when the time is right to share something else." She winked.
"Beth!" Shrieking at her as I turned so red from mortification.
"When you're ready I mean!" She laughed back.
"I know it's so hard for you to just let go. For so long you've had to be in control because that's how you've survived but with this, just take a step back and try going with the flow." Beth settled down, speaking gently.
"This could be the best thing in your life if you give it the chance." Beth wrapped her arms around me.
I was quiet for a while as Hamilton played in the background.
"What if I become broken by the end of everything?" Whispering afraid.
"Then I'll be here to help pick up the pieces." She hugged me tighter "You'll grow and move forward."
I snorted "Why are you still friends with me?"
"I like basket cases." She answered simply.
Turning my head I looked at her with a stern face which lasted about two seconds before we both busted out laughing.
"You know what we need," I said after we settled down and wiped the tears from my eyes.
"No what do we need?" She asked wiping her own eyes.
"Doughnuts." Seriously replying.
"Hell yes we do!" She jumped off the couch "District Doughnuts?" Asking as she grabbed her purse.
"Let's do it." Grinning as I turned off the TV and grabbed my purse and shut off the lights.
Beth opened my apartment door and stepped into the hallway and I could hear her singing.
"Helpless! Look into your eyes and the sky's the limit! I'm helpless! Down for the count and I'm drownin' in 'em." Waltzing around the hallway in front of Clint's door.
"Are you nuts!" Hissing at her, attempting to shut her up.
"I'm helpless! Look into your eyes and the sky's the limit! I'm helpless! I'm down for the count drownin' in 'em." She belted as I tried to push her further down the stairs to get us out of here.
"I'm just sayin' if you really loved me you would share him." Beth winked at me.
I couldn't but to respond with a "Ha!" Copying the song.
Suddenly we heard a door open and we both froze.
Clint was staring at the two of us standing on the stairs in front of his door. I could tell he was holding his lips together to keep from laughing.
"Oh hello!" Beth cheekily grinned "Just getting in a little singing."
"Clint you remember my best friend Beth. Well, let's say in the off chance she shows up missing in the next you few days I can use you as an alibi saying that the last time you saw her she was laughing and singing. Little did she know it would be her last time." Narrowing my eyes at her.
"I am so into you. I am so into you." Beth crooned, waving at Clint before turning around and hopping down the stairs out of sight only to continue onto the next verse in the song.
Sucking in a breath I turned around and saw Clint grinning.
"She's my best friend so what am I going to do?" Helplessly shrugging my shoulders. Glancing back down at the stairs I could still hear her singing.
Facing back towards Clint, I rolled my eyes, but a smile was on my face.
"Unfortunately, she comes with me as well." Joking with him.
Clint let out a laugh with that.
Running up the few stairs to his door, I rushed up and kissed him quickly before stepping back and running down the stairs.
"Later." Calling out with a small grin before catching up with Beth.
When both of us got back to my apartment, we were carrying a dozen doughnuts from District Doughnuts.
"Don't feel fat because we're splitting them and I'm taking some home in the morning." Beth tried to pacify me.
"Plus you got two for your man." She cooed.
"Shut up." Unlocking my door and turning on the lights.
Beth shut the door behind me and I placed the box onto the coffee table.
Going into the kitchen I picked up a plate and went back into the living room, grabbing a post-it note and a pen.
Putting Clint's two doughnuts on the plate I uncapped my pen and started writing.
"Whatcha writing?" Beth peeked over my shoulder.
"Just a little note." Replying.
They're not cookies and cream, but I thought you might like these two. The one on the left is Nutella S'mores. The one on the right is Fluffernutter.
Beth had turned the TV back on and resumed Hamilton as she bit into her milk chocolate peanut doughnut.
Taping the sticky note to the plate I went to the balcony door. Opening it I stepped outside.
Gently setting the plate on the floor I knocked on the glass door a couple of times before hastily retreating back into my apartment not wanting to get caught.
Ten minutes later Beth and I were on our second doughnuts but something nagged at me.
"Oh for God's sake I'll go check if the plate is gone." Beth huffed getting off the couch.
"Thank you!" Calling out in appreciation.
Beth gently opened the balcony door and took a peek outside before popping back in and shutting the door.
"Yup the doughnuts are gone." She said flopping back onto the couch.
"That's the secret to getting a man. You keep feeding them." She joked as she settled onto the couch.
Beth and I woke up around nine am. We scrambled to my closet to find the best outfit for my date today.
After some debate, we settled on my white flutter sleeve blouse. Paired with my paper-bag waisted green, floral shorts. To finish off the look was my crossbody bag and my pair of dark green Keds.
Keds were my weakness.
I had ten pairs. They were my signature shoes.
To complete the look Beth tamed my curls by turning them into waves and applied light makeup to make it look natural.
When all that was done we scoffed down breakfast, finishing just before 11.
"Well you two kids have fun today. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." She joked packing up her doughnuts.
"So do the exact opposite, got it." Joking back as I put the rest of my doughnuts in a small container.
"Remember have fun!" She came up and hugged me.
A knock on my door broke us apart. Glancing at the clock it read 11 am.
"Well he is punctual I'll give him that." She mused as she shooed me back into my room.
"What are you doing?" Completely confused.
"It's good to make him wait for a minute." She responded before pushing me back into my room.
"Oh my Jesus Christ." Rolling my eyes as she shut the door on me. But I gently opened it a crack to see what was going on in my living room.
"Come in, she'll be out in a minute." Beth ushered Clint into the apartment.
"While Dottie's finishing up let me give you my mandatory, if you break her heart I'll break your kneecaps line. Here it is, if you break her heart, or hurt her in any way then I will not only break your kneecaps with a baseball bat, but I'll sick Pops on you. Now he's very handy with his twelve-gauge shotgun." Beth was grinning from cheek to cheek.
Clint for his part was playing along with it.
"Well luckily for me I don't have any intentions of hurting Dot so I don't think there will be any need for breaking any kneecaps or grabbing shotguns." Clint gave Beth a little smile.
"We'll see." Was her only response with a raised eyebrow.
Now that got Clint a little fidgety. I had to keep my laughter inside that Beth could intimate Hawkeye.
"Sorry!" Throwing open the bedroom door deciding to end everyone's fun, "Ready." Smiling at Clint.
He was wearing blue jeans, a grey t-shirt, and an open dark blue flannel rolled at his elbows. Topped off with aviator sunglasses tucked into his shirt and a blue baseball cap.
"You look great." Blushing a little.
"You look fantastic." He gestured to my whole form.
The blush grew.
"Now, now this a PG-rated day. Let's remember that." Beth smirked breaking the air.
"Beth." Warning.
"Right I'm off." She kissed my cheek "Have fun you two." She opened the door and was gone.
"She grows on you I promise." Cheekily grinning at Clint "Let me just get my jacket." Jogging into my room to grab my motto jacket and my sunglasses.
"Ready." Grabbing my keys.
We made our way into the hallway when my phone started to ring. Glancing down I saw that it was Lena from work.
"Uh sorry one second, it's work." Apologizing a tad confused as to why she was calling me on a Saturday.
"Hello, Lena?" Answering the call.
"Dorothy you need to come here as fast as you can. Diana wants to see you." She rushed in a hushed tone over the phone.
"What? Why?" My confusion growing along with a feeling of dread.
"Diana is working today and she is saying that you missed a whole box from your cataloging. She is claiming that you only did five boxes, not six." Lena said.
"That's impossible I cataloged all six! I didn't leave the museum till after seven-thirty!" My voice rising in frustration.
Glancing at Clint I saw him wholly immersed in the conversation.
"That's what she is saying, but…" Lena trailed off.
"What? What did she hear?" My dread coming up in full force.
"She found about your meeting with Jude. She knows he wants you to submit a proposal for an upcoming exhibit." Lena whispered into the phone like she was afraid someone would hear.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me!" Exclaiming then turning pink "Sorry Lena please excuse my French." Gushing in embarrassment.
Turning my head, I saw Clint chuckle.
"Lena I'm on a date at the moment." Softly getting out as I smiled at Clint.
He winked back.
"Sorry, hun but I don't think Diana will care." Lena tried to be sympathetic "Just come in, sort it out and get on the rest of your day."
Rubbing my temple with my free hand, I thudded my head against my front door.
"Fine, I'll come in." Sighing out "Tell her I'll be there soon." Hanging up the phone.
Letting out a strangled groan I hit my head against the door.
"I'm guessing everything isn't okay." Clint ventured.
"How do you feel about a quick pit stop?" Pathetically asking.
"Lead the way." Clint quirked his lips forward and stretched out his arm.
"Thank you." Kissing his cheek in gratitude.
On our way to the museum I explained why I needed to go even though there was no real problem.
"Why does your boss dislike you so much?" He asked, with our hands intertwined sitting on the metro.
"Because she thinks I shouldn't be at the museum. She expressed that my position should have gone to someone with more experience. Both professionally and academically. Not some just out of the gate grad school student." Heaving out a sigh.
"But her boss, Jude thought it would do the museum good to have a young, fresh new face on the staff to show museum studies was still a hip relevant field to the millennials." Snorting out as my face fell.
"What? What is it?" Clint gently stroked my palm with his thumb.
"It's just-" Beginning but thinking better than to speak it aloud. Like it was a sin.
"Yeah?" Clint gently prodded.
"I love my job. Don't get me wrong. I know how blessed I am to have the position I have at the museum I've wanted to work at since I was a kid, but sometimes I feel like I haven't earned it." Quietly revealing.
"Sometimes I feel like they only picked me to be the bright, young face. They didn't pick me because of my experience or my ideas or my work ethic. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get a chance to prove who I am because I'm being loaded with so many labels."
A few tears slipped out of my eyes "Sorry, it's just frustrating sometimes." Hastily wiping away my evidence of weakness.
"Don't be sorry." Clint kindly said, "I'm sorry you have so much pressure at work." He wrapped an arm around me.
I found it ironic that he was comforting me on the issue of on the job stress. I wonder how many times he's almost been blown-up or something like that.
"Sometimes I want to just give up and throw in the towel, but then I think I can't because I worked for so long and I worked so hard to get where I am. But most days I'm so drained. Trying to keep Diana off my back while Jude wants me to propel within the institute. Every time he encourages me Diana goes on the warpath. Hence why I need to go in and fix the "missing" box situation." Resting my head on his shoulder.
Clint brought me closer to him and I snuggled into him.
"I didn't mean to vent." Apologizing.
"You can vent to me any day any time babe." He kissed my head.
A little jolt ran through me again at the sound of the nickname.
Sitting up I remembered something "Oh I put together a playlist of songs." Bringing out two pairs of headphones and a splitter along with my iPod.
"But you don't have to listen if you don't want to." Backpaddling.
"Well, I should get up to date since you did call me a grandpa." Clint laughed as he grabbed a set of earbuds.
We spent the rest of the metro ride in silence with our headphones, nestled closely together. Most of the time I watched Clint to gauge his reaction on the song that was playing. It was a bit difficult because he was wearing his sunglasses.
I suppose that was part of his disguise. Maybe it was an Avengers superhero standard? No one will be able to recognize you in a baseball hat and sunglasses.
The thought made me chuckle on the inside.
I think he liked most of the songs. I did limit the Taylor Swift to a bare minimum for this first time, so I wouldn't traumatize him.
When we arrived at the museum stop I put everything back in my bag.
"So how did I do?" Musing as we exited the train car.
"Not bad I have to admit. Do you think you could give me a list of the songs?" He inquired.
"No problem." A little smile on my lips, happy that he liked the music.
Emerging from the underground we walked the short distance to the Museum of American History. Forgoing the front doors and the tourists, I guided Clint to the side entrance that employees used.
"You don't have to come in." Turning around and stopping before Clint.
"No…I want to." He said almost carefully.
There was an odd undertone to his voice but I didn't press him. Going up to the door I buzzed the intercom and scanned my ID.
"Hi, it's Dorothy Laurens. Collections Management. Diana told me to come by." Talking into the speaker.
"Hey Dorothy." A voice sounded back. It was Mark, one of the weekend guards "I'll buzz you in."
A second later the door clicked open and I ushered Clint inside.
Making my way over to the security desk, I waved at Mark.
"Mark this is my guest, Clint." Turning to Clint I said, "Sorry you'll just need to sign in." Frowning, wondering if he was going to use his real last name.
"No problem," Clint said as Mark handed him the clipboard.
Sneaking a peak I saw that Clint had signed his name, Clint Anderson. I had to hide my smirk with a cough.
"What's Diana got you doing now?" Mark asked taking the clipboard back and handing me a guest sticker for Clint.
Peeling off the back I pressed the sticker onto his chest.
Oh my, that area is certainly firm.
Don't touch it again. You'll look like an idiot.
I really wanted to though.
"Filing mishap." Simply saying, though Mark knew it was something more. He had kept me occupied the many Saturdays when I first started out here and Diana piled on the stupidly endless amounts of busywork. Almost everyone but the people above her knew that Diana did not take a liking to me.
"Good luck kid." Mark gave a sympathetic smile.
"Thanks." Giving him a smile and nod while I directed Clint on where to go. Soon we were standing in the doorway of my department's shared office area.
"Dorothy!" Lena said when she saw me.
"Hey Lena, how is she this morning?" Creeping over to her desk. Diana was not in sight.
"Pissed." Was all Lena said.
"Great." Dropping my head.
"Oh sorry, Lena this is Clint, Clint this is Lena one of my coworkers." Introducing them.
"Nice to meet you." Clint shook her hand.
"Oh Dot he's a cutie." Lena winked at him.
"Lena!" Exclaiming in embarrassment.
Clint started doing his adorable little chuckle.
"Don't encourage him, it will only inflate is already huge ego." Shooting back with a quirk of my lips.
"Dorothy." Diana's commanding voice cut through the air.
Mentally preparing myself I gathered myself and turned around.
"Hello, Diana." Plastering a smile on my face "Lena called and said there was some mix up with the boxes I cataloged."
"Yes, there is one missing. More importantly, who is this?" Diana lasered in on Clint.
"This is Clint, you interrupted our date." A slight edge in my voice that I was unable to keep out.
Diana briefly glanced back at Clint before going back to me, "How nice to have free time." She passively said.
I forced my hands behind my back to hide my clenching fists.
"Well it's a rarity with how hard I've been working. Speaking of working let me pull up the boxes I cataloged." Pushing past the anger as best as I could and went to one of the office computers.
Taking a minute to log in and pull up the files I turned my head to Diana and said "Yup there all here. All six boxes of information." Taking a step back and ushered Diana forward to the screen.
While Diana pretended to study the screen I made eye contact with Clint. His eyes showed encouragement.
"How odd. I could have sworn box number five was missing the last time I checked. Well, all a misunderstanding." Diana stepped back with a fake smile "Thank you for coming in anyway."
"No problem!" Enthusiastically matching her fakeness "Glad to clear everything up."
Moving away from Diana, I made my way back towards Clint "Is that everything?" Hoping to escape.
"Yes sorry again for the mishap." She smiled and it almost sounded sincere.
"Oh wait before I forget-" Too good to be true.
"Yes?" Wrapping my hand with Clint's. He squeezed my hand.
"I know Jude had mentioned you putting together a proposal for the upcoming exhibit slot. It seems like an awful lot to handle given your age and experience. I mean you're still learning the ropes around here." Diana said in a pathetic attempt to come off in concerned "With your duties here I would hate for you to become overwhelmed."
"Well, Jude seems to believe I have the proper qualifications and experience. He did love my article after all." Getting that little dig in because I was feeling petty "He expressed that he would love to have my specific story-telling voice in an exhibit."
"He seems to think I have a real shot. Which is why I am going to submit a bid for the exhibit." Grinning at her.
"Now I don't expect to be chosen since I am so young and underqualified as you had mentioned, but I'm going to give it my all." Beaming at her.
"Well, that's wonderful." Diana grinned but I could see the daggers in her eyes.
"But thank you so much for being concerned about me. It means a lot to have a supervisor like you that cares for their employees. Especially with Jude and his encouragement." My voice dripping in fake sickly sweetness.
"Well have a great day." Without another word, I tugged Clint along and we left the office. Making our way back to the door I gave Mark a parting wave before we left.
"She is just so ugh!" Groaning out when we stepped outside the museum "Anyone with a brain could tell she was bullshitting that whole thing."
Clint came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.
"Well, I commend you on your patience because I was this close to shouting at her to shut the hell up." He said.
That made me snort "That would have been a sight."
"She shouldn't treat you that way." He said seriously. His hands tightened around me protectively.
"I know." Sucking in a breath "I tell myself that I'm just paying my dues. That I won't be where I am forever and she won't be my boss forever. I just have to grin and bear it until I pull myself further up the ladder."
"And you'll do that by winning the exhibit proposal." Clint kissed my neck.
"Even if I don't win, I'll be happy I submitted an idea. Even if that means she is going to make the next few weeks a new living hell." Rolling my eyes "This might sound petty but if neither of us wins then I'll be just as happy."
"Nope, not petty at all. She deserves it." Clint placed another kiss on my neck.
Untangling myself from Clint, I kissed him.
"Come on I'm not letting her ruin this day. Time to begin the date I had planned." Joyfully grinning to him.
"Lead the way babe." Clint pecked my lips.
Hopping back onto the metro I led Clint to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park or the Zoo as we called it.
"I hope this is okay." Shyly asking after we walked in.
"I haven't been to a zoo…in Jesus, I can't even remember. This is great." Clint smiled at me and squeezed my hand.
Over the next two hours, we walked around the zoo taking in all the animals. Clint even humored me when I wanted to stop by the petting zoo to feed the animals.
He took some pictures of me feeding some goats.
"Adorable." He commented. I even managed to snag some pictures of him feeding a cow, all on the down-low of course.
"You seem to take to the outdoors." Speaking to him after we were done at the handwashing station "I get the outdoorsy vibe from you."
He chuckled "You're not wrong. I feel at home in the outdoors or high up in the air."
"We should go hiking." Wrapping an arm around his waist "I know a couple of places I think you might like."
"That would be great." Clint beamed, kissing my cheek.
"Score I snagged another date." Giggling "You're stuck with me now."
"I'll suffer through it," Clint said in mock stress as he held me closer.
By the time we had finished with the zoo, we had discussed new things. Like our favorite animals. I told Clint mine was the elephant. He told me his was the falcon.
That wasn't surprising.
He asked my favorite flower for clarity.
"Peonies, but they're hard to come by." Sheepishly saying.
After the zoo, I took Clint for a late lunch at the Federalist Pig.
"This place has great BBQ." Commenting after we sat down "So get ready for this," Gesturing to my face "To be covered in BBQ sauce."
"Don't worry I'll lick off anything extra." He said with an evil wink.
Too bad he made this comment when I was taking a sip of water, thus began a coughing fit.
"You did it again!" Rasping out as I tried to breathe clearly again "New rule. You should be banned from talking when I'm taking a drink."
"Noted." Clint laughed reaching across the table to plant a quick kiss on my lips "Am I forgiven?" He asked sitting back down in his seat.
"Hmm we'll see." Musing with a smirk.
We split BBQ ribs and chicken wings along with a basket of fries and a bowl of mac and cheese. Chatting during eating.
After the meal, Clint leaned back in his seat looking exhausted.
"I feel like I'm about to explode." He wiped his forehead.
"Eyes bigger than your stomach huh?" Laughing out snapping a quick photo of him in his post barbeque coma.
"Just a little blackmail for later." Tucking my phone away.
"If that photo ever surfaces." He threatened.
"Just make sure to never piss me off." Smiling sweetly at him.
I tried to pay the bill but Clint was faster. Much to my annoyance.
"I also wanted to take you to the botanical gardens but they close at five, we wouldn't have much time." Glancing at the time as we left the restaurant.
"It was part of my original plan but then Diana happened." Rolling my eyes.
"We can go tomorrow." He said as we walked around with no particular place in mind.
"Really? I don't want to take up your time." Biting my lip. Wondering if I was coming off too clingy.
Clint stopped us and slid his hands up my neck leaving goosebumps in his wake. Propping myself onto my tiptoes I leaned into him, knowing what was coming.
The tingly feeling of kissing Clint still hadn't disappeared. I didn't think it ever would at this point. Not that I was complaining.
"Dot I really like spending time with you. I like being around you. I like exploring with you, more importantly, I really like kissing you." He wiggled his eyebrows and I blushed red, my lips moving into a smile.
"Don't ever think you're monopolizing my time because honestly there is nothing, I'd rather be doing than just being with you." He softly grinned and my insides did this little flippy thing.
"Very smooth hun." Testing out the nickname on my tongue "You sure know how to make a girl swoon." Grinning as I went back in for another kiss.
"Okay tomorrow, botanical gardens it is." Pushing myself back on my toes.
"It's a date." Clint smirked, throwing an arm around me.
"Speaking of dates, next Saturday night keep your evening free." He told me.
"Now I'm intrigued, why?" My curiosity piqued.
"I have a very special evening planned. Formal fancy and all." He joked "So dress up because I'm suffering into wearing a suit and jacket."
"Now I'm really curious." My eyebrows going up "Any other hints you want to give me?"
"Nope that's all I can say." He told me with a mischievous grin.
