welcome to the forty-sixth chapter of my only 'Vampire Knight' fanfiction, 'Life with Yuuki: 'Vampire Knight' As Told by Zero'. this forty-sixth chapter, right here, is worth a total of one-thousand-six-hundred-two words worth of pure storyline. it is a storyline that doesn't include the headnote that is this paragraph, right here, or the (mandatory) disclaimer which makes up the paragraph following this one. this forty-sixth chapter is also the final chapter of the occurrences from within the sixth episode, overall, of the 'Vampire Knight' anime series. I can't say when I'll move onto the chapters which include the occurrences between Zero Kiryuu and Yuuki Cross from the seventh episode from outside of the flashbacks to the past, but I can say that the next upcoming forty-seventh chapter will be the first of those chapters in this fanfiction going further forward. OK, on with the (mandatory) disclaimer. I find the disclaimer mandatory because let's face it, it is.

disclamation: I don't own 'Vampire Knight' in the manga or in the anime. I can do nothing except write this fanfiction as I hate on Viz Media for the way they ended the 'Vampire Knight' anime. I hate Kaname Kuuran so much, I would kill him if I was in the series, myself, especially with what he does just to get the mindless followers that are the Night Class students off of his back. anyway, Matsuri Hino-san owns the manga and its sequel 'Vampire Knight Memories'. I haven't read much of the manga, but then again, I notice an insane amount of resemblance towards 'Vampire Knight' and my one true manga, 'Fruits Basket'. if you ask me, those are both far better love stories than 'Twilight' could have ever even hoped to be.

The following day was a slight disappointment for everyone, because things went from bad to worse since I knew about my Yuuki almost failing to keep her word to me about not letting anyone see my bitemarks on her neck. I just knew that that Kaname Kuuran had something to do with her nearly failing to keep her word to me about it. I was sure of it.

It was not very long before Master came into the room in which I was during then.

Master: Why are the curtains still closed?

Master then drew the curtains open just before asking me a question.

Master (continued): So, how's your right shoulder?

I could only scoff at what Master had asked me at the time. Of course, I knew that he knew what Yuuki and I had done the night before. There was no way I was going to tell him anything about it the following day, though.

Master (continued): I know it just grazed you, but a vampire gun can do a lot of damage.

Then, Master began walking away from the window and towards me as he continued his monologue to me.

Master (continued): Although vampires heal quickly, it will take quite some time.

After he stopped just in front of me, Master continued more with his monologue to me about a vampire's extraordinary healing abilities.

Master (continued): That is, unless you drink the blood from a living human.

I did not know why I was shocked at what Master's theory about my right shoulder already being healed. I knew that he knew what Yuuki and I had done the prior night. So, why was I shocked at all? What right did I even have to be shocked about Master already knowing about my condition at the time? Then, Master pulled out my own gun with which to shoot me down for good.

Master (continued): Once I'm done with you, Zero, I'll be sure to punish that girl for offering you her blood to keep a vampire alive. I don't know what she thinks she's doing, but it's anything except safe. Giving up on you would be what's best for her, too, and I think even you know that, yourself, Zero. Every vampire hunter in history knows that it's the deadliest sin of all to keep a former human vampire alive by offering your own blood to any vampire.

Just as Master was ready to pull the trigger at me on my own Bloody Rose anti-vampire gun a few moments later, Yuuki suddenly came bursting into the room through the door at the sight of what probably looked to her like Master trying to kill me.

Yuuki Cross: Stop! Zero!

I heard her voice loud and clear as she screamed out for me to not give up on myself once again. I gasped at hearing my Yuuki's voice screaming like the voice of panic. Then, I grabbed onto the shooting nozzle of my Bloody Rose and stopped Master just in time. I was done waiting for someone to kill me. I was not going to run away from my fall to level E any longer. I had finally decided to take it with whatever dignity and grace I still had left from my life as a human. What Master said next surprised me even more than when he took me to be placed in his vampire-hunting master's care.

Master: You decided to stop waiting for me to kill you?

Master then let go of my Bloody Rose anti-vampire gun where I could finally claim it back from his grasp. Then, he just scoffed at me for it.

Master (continued): Don't you even remember that day?

Master then lifted his right hand and placed it just above the patch covering his eye, or rather what was left of it.

Master (continued): You swore to me that you would never make me regret losing my eye to save your life. That was a solemn oath you made to me that day and promised you would always uphold. Watching you now made me want to kill you for real. I have to intention of saving a kid who only wants to take the easy way out.

Then, Master removed his hand from the patch covering his eye and opened his remaining eye as he continued with his monologue to me while my dearest Yuuki watched.

Master (continued): Struggle 'till you can struggle no more. It's your life, even if it will be covered in blood.

Then, Master turned around, ready to leave the room, I supposed.

Master (continued): Don't run away, Zero.

After walking back to the door in the room, Master suddenly started speaking to my precious little Yuuki like he had expected something of her.

Master (continued): Now, girl…

My dearest Yuuki had stammered a bit as she finally began speaking to Master.

Yuuki Cross: W-What do you want from me?

Master finally told my Yuuki want he wanted her to do to me when the time for it.

Master: If he starts going berserk again, I want you to stop him, but you'll get hurt if you treat him gently. Listen; he won't stop unless you put a bullet in him, other wise he's just gonna keep coming. A bullet is probably the best thing for him. What you choose to do after that is up to you.

I saw the look on Yuuki's face by then. It was the look of her understanding her place in deciding my fate the next time I were to get out of control. Unfortunately, it was also a surefire confirmation that Yuuki had originally thought that Master had been the type to have it out for people. If my Yuuki wanted to meet the type of person to have it out for people, she should have just looked at her own 'beloved' Kaname Kuuran. Of course, she finally understood Master's motives towards me.

Yuuki Cross: So then, you shot Zero at the pool because you…

Now, Yuuki was getting it. Then, Master spoke to my Yuuki to further clarify why he shot me with his own anti-vampire gun at the pool the other night.

Master: I could've taken him in one shot if I wanted. I wouldn't miss at that range. Are you kidding? Wouldn't happen.

Then, Master began speaking to me once more not long after talking to my dearest Yuuki about that which was required of her for his efforts to keep Cross Academy's right to a peaceful campus life intact.

Master (continued): Zero, that woman… seems she's still alive.

Of course, I knew right away just who Master was talking about with that woman. I instantly became shocked at what I had heard about that monstrous woman who dealt me the fate of a level E vampire. My darling Yuuki, however, seemed to draw a blank on even what Master had said to me when mentioning the vampire that robbed me of both my humanity and my innocence the night I was transformed into a vampire. I could see it very clearly just from the look upon her face.

Just after Master left the two of us alone, my dearest Yuuki walked into the room in which I still remained sitting on the floor at the time. Then, my beloved Yuuki spoke to me expressing her fears for my sake.

Yuuki Cross: Zero, I really thought you were going to die.

My dear Yuuki then clenched her fists at the thought of losing me. I knew that she did not care for me the way she cared for that Kaname Kuuran, but it still warmed my cold vampiric heart that she was genuinely concerned for my sake, even if it would have only made me suffer more. I never knew why she insisted on caring for me. She had to know that I knew she was only being nice to me. I hated that she saw me like that, but I took it in from her anyway. I always knew that it would do me no good, but it still made me feel as though my life was not ready to be over and done with, just yet. My Yuuki's presence in my life made me feel as though I still had something or even someone left in my life to live and die for.

After a while of staring at my Yuuki just pondering our feelings for one another, I spoke her name again and readied myself to get up off of the floor.

Yours Truly: Yuuki.

I finally arose from the floor in the room and walked over to that of where my precious little Yuuki was if only to console her about what almost happened to me. I placed my left hand on her head and pat it if only to comfort her about almost failing to save me like she had most likely come to do in the room in the first place.

Yours Truly (continued): Stop crying, OK? I promise I won't run away anymore.

I suppose my darling Yuuki wanted to cry a little more when she went over to the room's window. I let her cry some more like she wanted to. She obviously needed to let it out of her. So, I thought I would give my dearest Yuuki her space following her journey to the window in the room.
