After a long night of surveillance of a suspected stash house, they spent the morning at the district giving the rest of the team the intel they had gathered. They were investigating a potential supplier of some dodgy cocaine, that so far had killed nine people and if it wasn't stopped soon, it was only going to kill more. Peter Jacobs was their number one suspect, he was known to the team and had been on their radar for years - but they'd never been able to make anything stick, so they were working this case to the letter of the law. They needed to be sure that they had enough evidence on his activities before they went in and arrested him. Kim and Kevin were watching the house during the day, and then Antonio and Adam were going to do a stake out throughout the early hours of the morning - before swapping with two plain clothes patrol officers so they could get some shut eye before they got the warrant and raided the property the next day. Once Erin and Jay had told the team everything they knew, Hank told them to go home and get some shut eye - knowing they'd been up almost 24 hours at this point, and they needed to come in early the next morning to prepare for the raid. They got home at about lunch time, and today was the day that Will was finally leaving the apartment - they wanted to make sure he was sorted and had everything he needed - so they decided to hold off their nap until he left. Will and Nina officially broke things off a couple of days after the lock in at Molly's - it ended amicably though. Will was very lucky, he was able to find an apartment within a week - it was right by the hospital and was a very reasonable price so he snapped it up as soon as he saw the advertisement. Throughout the past week, he had moved all of his stuff from his old apartment, so all he had to take over today was his clothes and anything he had at Erin and Jay's. Erin and Jay had both offered to help him pack, but Will declined - seeing how tired they were and told them to go for a nap - or at least go and sit down with a coffee. So they did, they sat watching an episode of criminal minds while drinking a huge cup of coffee each. When he was all packed, he put his bags by the door and walked into the living room, and saw that they were both fully awake now, "Okay, so I'm all packed. I just want to say thank you - to both of you. For letting me stay here as long as I have done - I really didn't expect it to end up being this long," He said.

Jay paused the TV when Erin got up and gave him a hug, "It's no bother Will. Anytime - that's what family is for."

"Yeah, it's been no bother, it's actually been nice having you around," Jay said and gave his brother a goodbye hug. Though, he did mean it - he was certainly looking forward to being alone in their apartment again.

"You're a shit liar, you know that?" Will laughed, "I know you're extremely pleased to have me out of your hair. I know I was when you finally got your act together and buggered off out of my apartment!"

Jay just rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah… whatever. Now get out of here and go and enjoy your new place. So, when's the moving in party? I hope we are invited because you would've been homeless if it wasn't for us."

"I don't know, let me get settled first. But yeah, you two are definitely invited," He sighed, looking at his bags by the door, "I best be going - I heard you mention that the guests for your party were arriving soon."

"Yeah, they're probably outside right now… We thought you'd be gone by now," Jay teased, "But no, seriously. You're welcome here anytime."

Will gave his brother another hug, "Thank you. I really appreciate it."

They walked him to the door, "No problem Will. Like Jay said, you're welcome here anytime. We will probably see you in Molly's one night this week. Let us know if you need any help at all," Erin said, giving him another hug. She really was going to miss having him around sometimes - he had provided her with many stories that she could use against Jay, and he provided company on the nights that Jay was at his meetings, or doing overtime shifts.

"Alright, I'll see you both. Have a nice third wheel free night," Will teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

Jay and Erin rolled their eyes before Jay opened the door, "Alright. Goodbye." He said, pushing Will out the door once he had picked up his bags. Once Will had left, he shut the door and locked it, putting the chain on as well. He turned towards Erin and pushed her up against the wall, kissing her fiercely. God he had missed this. With having a house guest with unpredictable hours, they had to be careful, not wanting to get caught by him while they were in a compromising position on the couch. He guided them towards the couch, losing clothes as they went, he decided it was well overdue a function test. Had to make sure the function was still as good as its form.

"Function is still amazing," Jay whispered into her ear, placing a kiss just below it.

"Mmm... yeah. Wow, I've missed that," she mumbled, breathlessly. She shuffled around so he could lie down and she snuggled up to him. He covered them both in a blanket and they both drifted off into a much needed afternoon nap.

When they woke up a couple of hours later, they stayed snuggled on the sofa and binged a few more episodes of criminal minds, "What do you fancy for dinner? I don't really feel like cooking," Jay asked when he realised how late it had got.

"Hmm, I'm not sure, Chinese or Pizza. What do you fancy?"

"Shall we get a Chinese?" He asked and she nodded, "God one bad thing about my dickhead of a brother not being here is that we are going to have to start paying for our takeaways!" he grumbled as he reached to the floor and grabbed his jeans, fishing for his phone.

She laughed at his feigned annoyance, "Yeah, but if your brother was here we wouldn't have been able to have this wonderful afternoon together... I think that beats having a free takeaway."

"True, true. I bet Will was glad to be out of here. I mean, he did fork out for your hangover McDonalds two days in a row - I'm surprised he was even able to afford his deposit," Jay teased, putting his phone on the coffee table for now.

She rolled her eyes, "Will you stop going on about that? I mean, my hangover McDonalds order isn't even that bad!"

"Babe, 20 chicken nuggets, a Big Mac, mozzarella sticks times two, a chicken Mayo and a medium fries is kind of a lot..."

"I got a medium fries, didn't I? I could've easily got a large. And I didn't bother getting a drink - either time. So really, it probably cost him less than usual," she told him.

"Oh, so it only costs more when I'm paying for it, good to know," he laughed, attacking her ribs with his free hand.

She squealed, "STOP! You know I hate being tickled... STOP!" She yelped, grabbing his hand and trying to get him to stop.

He chuckled, "Alright, alright. I'll stop. So do you want your usual?" He asked, grabbing his phone.

"Please, and extra sp-"

"Extra spring rolls, I got it babe," he replied, busying himself into making sure he ordered everything they wanted. "Okay, it'll be about an hour."

"Plenty of time for me to get a shower... care to join me?" She asked, already knowing the answer.

"Oh definitely," he grinned as she climbed over him and began running to the bathroom. He loved the laugh she let out when he began running after her. He loved her so much, and he had decided that he definitely wanted to propose soon. He really couldn't wait to call her his wife.

After a long, steamy shower, both Erin and Jay were dressed in their comfy clothes and snuggled on the couch. They'd eaten their Chinese pretty quickly - both not realising how hungry they had been. They had an episode of Criminal Minds on the TV and they had been quiet for a while before Erin broke the silence, "As much as Will being here was nice, I really have enjoyed our afternoon. An afternoon of not worrying if he was going to walk in, or come home…"

"I get you. I do love my brother, but the thought of him walking in on what we did this afternoon makes me cringe. Wait - did I tell you about the time I walked in on him and Nina when I was living there?" He winced, reliving the memory.

"Oh my god no! What happened?"

He chuckled, "Well, it was one night after I'd been in quickly, got in my running gear and went out. My runs usually lasted like two or three hours - because, well, you know I didn't want to deal with what was going on in my head. So, anyway, I just wasn't feeling it that night. I'd barely slept - had a bad nightmare the night before and we'd had a long day at work, so after like 2 miles, I decided to just run back and try and get some sleep," He explained as he felt Erin take a hold of his hand and squeeze it, "Well, I opened the door and all I heard was a lot of movement, rummaging about and Will shouting me to stay where I was and not to come in. Nina ran into their bedroom, and Will was stood in just his boxers - he was NOT impressed. I just said I was sorry and went and got a shower… The awkward thing was - because Will was doing his - no bed for Jay in the guest room - I had to make up my bed on the sofa once they went to bed after knowing what had been going on. It was awkward the next morning to say the least."

"Oh shit that must've been so bad!" She cringed, knowing how awful it would have been if that had happened with them while Will was staying with them.

"It was awful. Terrible. Horrible! I'm just so glad that I didn't get an eyeful because I honestly don't think I'd ever be able to look my big brother in the eye again," He shuddered.

"Yeah… At least you had warning and didn't just walk in as they were fully going at it - now that would've been so awkward!" She laughed, "But I'm so glad that he has landed back on his feet. I know the past couple of months have been hard for him. I am glad that he and Nina could be friends and it didn't end all dramatically. It's a shame that they couldn't make it work, but I can understand why he wouldn't want to leave Chicago."

"Me too. I genuinely thought he was saying no to leaving just because of me - and I really didn't want that. I think because I didn't want him to resent me in the future. But, that night at the lock-in, he really talked to me about his reasons. He told me that I was a factor in him wanting to stay - but it wasn't the only reason. He loves his job, and all his friends are here. I think Chicago is a good place for him," Jay explained. "I'm actually really glad he is staying though. I really love how close we have gotten over the past couple of years, it's like we are closer than we were when we were kids. Our relationship now, is probably the strongest it's ever been, especially after everything that happened. Me joining the army… him going off to Med school - we really did lose touch and barely spoke back then. Even less so after everything with my mom. I really do forgive him though, it did take me a long time - but I just feel that we are in the best place we could be. I'm really glad he isn't leaving - but I'm glad he isn't using me as an excuse."

"I know that all of that really hurt you, the way you were left when your mom was dying. But, I am glad that you are able to talk about that time - and how it made you feel. You can talk to your brother about it and you mended your broken relationship. You are doing amazing, Jay, you know that?" She asked, turning to face him. He looked as if he was about to dispute the compliment, so she interrupted. "Babe, I know you hate compliments like this, but you are doing so well and I am so proud of how far you've come over the past few months. I mean, it's been a lot for you to handle. But, you're going to your group sessions, down to only needing to see Dr Charles twice a month instead of weekly. You're talking to me and letting me in so much more than you ever did before, Jay. You are even letting your brother in and it's just so nice to see how far you have come. You're amazing Jay Halstead. You really are incredible."

He smiled at her, "Thank you for being there for me and helping me get through all this shit. I really couldn't have done it without you, I love you," He whispered, leaning in to give her a kiss.

"I love you too," She said softly, giving him another kiss before pulling away. She could tell Jay didn't want to carry on with this line of conversation, as he really didn't like getting all the compliments about how well he has done, so she changed it. "Okay, so we really need to finish this episode and get to bed. We need to be up at six so we can be in work for seven and I'm still not fully over last night. God I can't wait for this case to be over."

"I know, nine dead from this one batch of coke? I just hope we can get the bastards before another batch hits the streets," He sighed, sitting back. He wondered how the rest of the day had gone, and he hoped that the team had got enough intel for them to get a warrant. The sooner these guys got off the street, the better.

"Same, I just don't have a good feeling about this one," She said, putting her head on his shoulder. Seeing young people die from drugs always hurt Erin as it reminded her of things she went through growing up. Things no child or teenager should ever have to see.

"I know these cases are rough for you, but I've got you. We will catch the guys behind this, I know we will," He replied, kissing the top of her head. She nodded and just turned her attention back to the TV, not wanting to dwell on it much more. She was kind of glad that they had put it out of their minds through the day, she really did hate dwelling on these cases as it really got to her. She liked how they spent the day focusing on getting Will out of there, and spending the day reconnecting with Jay - she really appreciated him for everything he did for her.

When the episode finished, Jay sent Erin to go and get ready for bed while he quickly cleaned up from their dinner. He rinsed all of the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. He then rinsed all the containers the curries came in and put them in the recycling bin. After getting the coffee pot set up ready to go for the morning, he got both of their cups ready and turned the lights off in the kitchen. He quickly turned his attention to the living room, quickly straightening up the couch by placing all the cushions back in their normal place, and hanging the blanket back up across the back. After he had finished everything, he turned all the lights out and entered the bedroom, seeing that Erin was already in bed, her head on his pillow - waiting for him to come and join her. He went and did his teeth before taking off his shirt and getting into bed. She lifted her head up so he could lie beneath her and her head could rest on his chest. She was snuggly tonight and Jay didn't blame her, "Good night, babe," He whispered, kissing the top of her head.

"Night," She mumbled, almost completely incoherently. Thankfully they were both asleep pretty quickly, hoping to get a good nights sleep before the big day tomorrow.

Everyone was at the precinct by 07:00 the next morning, thankfully everyone seemed well rested enough and felt like they had a fresh look on the case. They all sat and talked about the things that Kim, Kevin, Antonio and Adam found out during yesterdays surveillance. It seemed like they had a pretty solid idea that Peter Jacobs was the mastermind behind the bad cocaine. They were thankful that a CI of Al's had led them to the location after they linked Peter's team being the people who were cutting the cocaine and selling it on. Once they had the link to where the house was, that was where the team had focused on throughout the past two days and nights. The house was in a decent neighbourhood and didn't seem like your 'typical' drug den house. It was a good way to go under the radar and was probably how they had evaded police for so long.

"Our intel shows that there shouldn't be many guys here today, they just got a delivery of the cocaine last night, so they will be doing the cutting and getting it ready to go off to their dealers today," Antonio offered, "So we probably won't come into contact with his many guys, as the new product probably won't be ready to go until tonight. It'll be Peter and his main team, there are about four or five of them. They are his main men."

"That's good, so there's less guys for us to have to handle," Jay said. " Might make it easier for us to get it before more goes out?"

"Yeah, it seems that Peter is behind it - and so far he hasn't left since he arrived last night," Kevin said, "Which means we will get him today - as long as he doesn't leave between now and when we get there."

"Alright, I've got the blue prints you asked for," Platt said, bringing up the papers upstairs and handing them to Hank. He thanked her and she went back downstairs.

Once the blueprints were posted on the board the team took in the information before them. They were interrupted by two officers walking up the stairs, "You wanted to see us, sir?" One of them asked.

"You two Cooper and Fernandez?" Hank asked and they both nodded, "Okay, so you two are coming with us - we already have two patrol officers down there now, but we need you two are going to be our back-up incase things go south - okay?" The two officers nodded.

"Okay, Burgess, Atwater, Halstead and Lindsay - you go round back. Me, Al Dawson and Ruzek will go through the front. So I need you two to stay outside, keep an eye out for any runners. If anyone bolts - get them. But also be ready to come in if we need you, we may need to radio you for backup if things go south in there, okay?" Hank asked the two new people in the group and they both nodded. "Okay, you two need to know the layout too, so here we go. Once we have gone in, we need to split up. Halstead and Lindsay, I want you two to go down into the basement. There are three rooms down there, one either side of the stairs, and one at the end of the corridor here. Clear these rooms one by one - okay? Be wary that there could be people down there but I know you both have each other's backs - so just be careful," He instructed.

"Will do Sarg," Jay said, and Erin nodded, sharing a look with Jay - trusting him to have her back.

"Okay, good. So I Atwater and Burgess to clear this side of the house, so that includes the kitchen, the dining room and this little room here. If anyone's going to run, they're likely to jump out of this window here as it leads directly to the alley between both of the houses - if anyone runs, don't go after them. I've already informed the two officers who are sitting on the house now to be on guard for the here - to make sure no one escapes that way. You two need to stay in the house and carry on clearing the rooms and listening for us and if we need any assistance over the radio - right?"

Kevin and Kim both nodded in agreement with Hank's plan and allowed him to carry on. "Dawson and Ruzek, I need you two to go upstairs and clear these three bedrooms, okay? Then me and Al will clear the rest of the downstairs. I need you all to stay sharp because we have no idea what kinds of weapons these guys will have. Any questions?" He asked, and everyone shook their heads, indicating that they were ready. "Okay then, let's suit up."

The team went down to the roll up and got ready for the raid. As aways, Jay helped Erin with her vest - making sure it was secure, before she returned the favour. Once they were all ready, they went to their cars and followed Voight and Al to the house. When they pulled up, they all took their places at either side of the house. Thankfully the way the street was designed, meant that cars could come in at different directions so they didn't all arrive at once - and in the same place. This was beneficial because they didn't get the attention they'd have got if it had gone another way. Once everyone was in place, Kevin and Hank both battered down the front and back doors completely in sync, "Chicago PD! Everyone put your hands up where we can see them!" Hank yelled when he and his guys entered the front. Instantly there were people trying to run, so the four of then got to work on tackling the suspects and arresting them before they managed to escape.

The other side of the house was quiet when the other four went in, they made sure that the kitchen was clear before splitting off to clear the areas that they were assigned.

Erin lead her and Jay down the stairs at the side of the kitchen, taking them down into the basement. Thankfully they saw no one in the corridor - but it was clear that there were people down here as the lights were on and they could hear scrambling from one of the rooms - but they didn't know which one as of yet. She looked back towards her partner and nodded to the left door to indicate that she would clear that room. He nodded towards the first door on their right. Within seconds of each other, they both shouted clear - which told them that there was obviously someone in the room towards the end of the hall. They could hear a commotion going on upstairs, so it seemed that the team had found some of the people they were looking for. She looked back at him and he nodded for her to open the door in front of them - it was locked.

"I've got this," Jay said as she stepped aside. With great force, he managed to kick the door off its hinges, allowing them to enter the room. They stepped in, guns raised and looked around after announcing themselves. What they didn't expect was a woman, who they both knew extremely well, to be stood looking at them like a deer caught in headlights. She stood still, with two blocks of cocaine in her hands. Bunny. They hadn't seen or heard of her since the Jimmy debacle that had hurt Erin so much, she just couldn't face being let down by her mother yet again - so decided to cut all ties. "Mom?"

"Erin! Honey, you've got to help me!" Bunny exclaimed, waving her hands round erratically after dropping the cocaine (it was clear she was on something by her demeanour), "It's really not what you think! They tricked me!"

Erin rolled her eyes, glancing at Jay, who seemed as if he was going to let her handle this, "You're going to have to come to the station with us. If you have nothing to hide, and you in fact had nothing to do with any of this, then you can go."

"No! I haven't done anything, why can't you just let me go! I am your mother!" Bunny shouted, clearly worried about being taken in and linked back to the crimes of this gang.

"Bunny, we can't let you go because she'd lose her job," Jay explained, calmly. He holstered his gun to show Bunny that he wasn't a threat. "You need to come with us to the station and then we can clear all this up at the station okay?" He asked, glancing back at Erin, who was looking stoically at the woman in front of her. When Bunny didn't answer, too busy caught in a staring match with her daughter, Jay began walking up to her slowly, "Barbra Fletcher, you're under-"

It was too late, neither one of them had caught the knife in Bunny's pocket, and in seconds, she grabbed it and lashed out. The knife entered Jay's leg. Jay was in shock, he fell back in a daze as he heard the sound of a gun go off. Bunny's screams were all that he could hear, and when he looked up all he saw was Erin standing with her gun still in the air, shaking.

AN: I had attempted to update this last night but the website was being upgraded so I deleted and waited until now to upload it again :) Sorry it's taken a while to update this story, wasn't exactly sure on what the next chapter would be exactly. I'm hoping to update the boy next door next week sometime :) Not overly keen on this chapter but there is only so many re-reads and re-writes you can do before just saying fuck it and just upload - so that's what this is! But I've had this kind of story planned with Bunny for ages, wanted to put it in at the beginning but I changed my story and felt that now was a good place to put it in lol. Let me know what you thought :)
