The Wild Wizard of Fairy Tail

The Kingdom of Fiore, a land inhabited by 17 million people in a world filled with magic.

Like many other things, magic is traded like common goods becoming a part of daily life. In this world there are those who make a living using magic, those people are called Wizards. Wizards themselves join different Guilds, taking jobs as requested. In Fiore, there is no shortage of Wizard Guilds to join

Ranma Saotome was not someone who complained about his life regularly. Sure, he had every right to in certain situations. In others, he started it with his big mouth or made it worse, but he usually was fully in his rights to complain about some of the things that happened to him. He was currently experiencing one of those things.

At the moment, he was walking down a quiet street which has people boasting their businesses and daily lifes peacefully. It was painfully obvious that Ranma was nowhere near Nerima. If he was then the usual throng of challengers, rivals, fiancées, or fathers trying to force him to marry one of said fiancées would sooner or later be trying to find him. It was also in these times of peace that Ranma would feel at least a little nervous. The oddity of all this was that he was rather calm. So what was his reason for being so calm? He knew that his daily headaches were nowhere near and were probably never going to catch up with him.

How was he so sure? Did he finally run away from it all? Did he finally put his foot down? Did he go for a final climactic battle with the Wrecking Crew which left Nerima in shambles and would be spoken of in stories for years to come?

Nope. He is in Magnolia Town where he just arrived.

Magnolia Town was a city located in Fiore. Magnolia was located in the southeastern part of Fiore, with the sea and Hargeon Town not too far to the south, a series of minor built-up areas (namely Onibus, Kunugi, Oshibana and Clover Town) linked to it by a railway line to the north, and the state boundary with the nation of Bosco to the east. It was also far from Ranma's home town.

Magnolia had a population of 60,000 inhabitants, and was a merchant city that had been prosperous in Magic since the ancient era. Such reputation was supported by the fact that the town house was the former strongest Guild in Fiore.

Magnolia possessed a large built-up area, extending over a large, rectangular surface to the shores of Lake Sciliora. Splitting the town vertically and horizontally was a series of large roads. The whole place was western in style, with its buildings being mildly reminiscent of neat Medieval ones. Located almost in the middle of the town, overlooking Central Path, a horizontal road where events and parades were held, was Kardia Cathedral, one of Magnolia's most important and distinctive landmarks. In the southeastern section of the city is the train station, which, to the west, had the HalfCocor Hotel Bar, the Toy Store Tom and the Magic Store Lendis; north from the station, on the town's western border, was the entrance to the park.

Needless to say Magnolia is very peaceful compared with the daily lifes in Nerima, being in this town makes the pigtailed martial artist feeling calm and relax. He feels that he definitely need this after the chaos activities that happen since that failed wedding.

The two months since the failed wedding were probably the worst he had since coming to Nerima in the first place. The fiancées were starting to go wild in their attempts to claim him as their husband. Ukyo would often lament her lost childhood whenever she saw Ranma and would often try to convince him to choose her be it with bribes of food or simply using puppy dog eyes which he was known to be weak against. Shampoo just tried even more of her usual spices, herbs, and magical trinkets to try and make Ranma her husband by force while Kodachi continued her attempts to drug Ranma with a paralytic agent and drag him off to have her wicked way with him. It was obvious that they had long since stopped making the distinction between walking down the proverbial aisle with him and dragging him there kicking and screaming so long as a priest said they were married and they had a ring on their fingers to prove it. There was no question about it, the fiancées were getting desperate and making the chaos in his life that much worse because of it.

The rivals were just as bad in their own way. Kuno was going at Ranma with an actual sword for daring to try to marry Akane without his permission, actually believing that he somehow had some kind of right to dictate who Akane dated and/or married. Ryoga was attacking whenever he could find Ranma because Akane had been royally pissed about the wedding and thus Ryoga felt like it was his duty to teach Ranma a lesson about it, conveniently forgetting that he helped ruin the wedding in the first place. Although in his defense he had gotten lost again and crashed the wedding by accident. Mousse was only attacking because Shampoo was doing every dirty trick she could think of to force Ranma to consummate her marriage be it with Passion Spice, or some other mind-altering herb. As such, Mousse decided since a wedding wasn't possible with everyone out to interfere, it was best to simply get rid of Ranma himself. It was probably the most logical decision he had made in his life.

The parents were of absolutely no help, as usual. Genma and Soun would as always berate Ranma for not marrying his true fiancée like they said he should, forgetting as usual that Genma was the one who made some of those fiancée problems in the first place while the rest refused to admit defeat and go away. Nodoka just insisted that he could take the other girls as mistresses and marry Akane, but Ranma knew he'd be dead before the sentence suggesting that would leave his mouth. Those girls were determined to make sure they were the only girls Ranma looked at and were prepared to use massive amounts of violence to make sure it happened. He didn't bother trying to explain this to the parents though since they always seemed to rationalize away anything that didn't fit into their world view.

Things with Akane weren't getting any better either. Oh, things seemed to have been fine at first, but about a week into the new tricks and attacks the Fiancée Brigade would unleash her temper became as bad as ever, often finding fault with Ranma for not telling those other girls to take a hike and once more proclaiming him to be a pervert who just wanted a harem of hussies like his mother wanted for him.

Since that week, Ranma couldn't go out of the house for a few minutes before returning to Akane's pointed questioning. It was always 'who were you with', 'what were you doing', 'what took you so long', and 'can you prove it'. If he didn't give an answer she liked, she'd get angry and smash him with that damn mallet of hers again. It all just served to show him that despite everything he had done, rescuing her from kidnappers and princes, pulling her fat out of the fire like with Kodachi or Picolet, and even once killing a phoenix-man and self-proclaimed god, Akane had absolutely no faith or trust in him. She would often strike him for the littlest of slights or would really lay it to him when it seemed like he was attempting to do or even thinking of something perverted in her eyes.

As much as Ranma really wanted to tell the other girls to back off, he had a couple of reasons not to. Number One: Ukyo had a legitimate claim on him since Genma had accepted her dowry and ran with it, probably selling it for cash the first chance he got after devouring everything edible on it. Number Two: Shampoo felt she had a legitimate claim on him thanks to her tribal laws and would thus never give up and Ranma had a sneaking suspicion that if she failed, she would have to face some kind of punishment likely worse than a Jusenkyo curse. Number Three: Kodachi was just an obsessive nut like her brother and wouldn't let go of Ranma for anything. Number Four: Ranma hated hurting a girl's feelings.

Oh sure, those reasons for the fiancées all had loopholes he might be able to get out of with, but he doubted it would work. Like the rivals, the fiancées tended to ignore things that they didn't like and instead turned it into something they would prefer to hear themselves through use of feminine charms or fake tears. Ranma cursed himself for being such a sucker for it.

That was usually how all of his days boiled down. The fiancées would attempt to seduce him be it through charm or force, get in a fight with each other, damage some property, Akane would find out and lose her temper with its usual explosion and belt him one, the fathers would berate him once he regained consciousness or got home, the pair would try to force yet another wedding, dinner, sometimes some quiet, sleep, and sometimes deal with a fiancée who would try to sneak into his bed during the night (i.e. Shampoo or Kodachi.). Pepper in his rivals going at him in groups or trying to hit him with a sneak attack and you had his day in a nutshell. It was all one continuous cycle of people trying to pull him in all directions, trying to dictate his life on their terms with absolutely no consideration towards his own feelings and he was getting sick of it. The only problem was that he had no way out because of both his honour code and the others who refused to listen to anything except what they wanted to hear.

It was starting to become too much for him. He was getting tired of having to fight every day before school even began. He was getting tired being accused of being some sort of pervert by either Akane or the rivals. He was tired of the girls in his life trying to pull him in whatever direction they wanted, threatening violence if he didn't obey like a happy puppy. He was definitely tired of the parents avoiding their own responsibilities and telling him to just swallow his pride and bow his head to what he was told, or in his mother's case become the pervert so many accused him of being by taking all of the girls. He didn't care how 'manly' it was supposed to be, he just didn't want to.

Again, after all the chaotic activities he definitely need some peace and quite and Magnolia seems to be the perfect town to relax. But he isn't here on vacation, he has an urgent matter to do and perhaps he could relax a bit while his here.

Now your wondering why, Ranma Saotome, the praticitioner of the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts, is doing in a town such as Magnolia? Simple; he's here to join a Guild and looking for jobs.

As you can see, Ranma is not only a martial artist who ultilize in hand-to-hand combat, but he's also a wizard. A magic user that ultilize the properties of magic, each has their own unique magic and abilities. However, he isn't like the other wizards who use well known magic everywhere, he knows Lost Magic, he use Snow Dragon Slayer Magic.

He is a Dragon Slayer, a wizard that use magic to slay Dragons.

Dragon Slayers were known for their Dragon Slayer Magic taught by Dragons to slay Dragons. Each Dragon Slayers posses elements of their own and eating the same element to increase their magic. However, since there are no Dragons left, the magic was lost and no one can learn it without a Dragon. Although, there was another method to learn it.

As to how Ranma know this kind of magic and how he become a Dragon Slayer, it all begin 8 years ago;

When Ranma was young, he and his father, Genma Saotome, continuing with their training trip to make him the best martial artist in his generation. Genma's only desires was for his son to learn varities of martial arts and master them to make him the strongest and skillfull martial artist ever. But when the young Ranma took interest in magic he ask his father if he could learn it as well but to the young boy's surprise and disappointment Genma refuses it telling him that learning magic it's a waste of time and people who spend so much on training their magic makes them weak physically, and with that said they continue on.

By the time that Ranma was 9-years old, fate has reserved for him.

One day, young Ranma collapsed on the road, he was walking with his father, he had a high fever when and Genma took his son to shelter so he could rest and give him medicines that he somehow acquired (stole) from a shop. However, none of the medicines work and fear that his fever will go even worst Genma has no choice but to go to a nearby village in hopes to find a doctor. Once there, the doctor gives him the bad news, he revealed that Ranma caught an incurable disease and he only has so little time left. Hearing the horrible truth, Genma, being the lovable-caring father for once, begs the doctor to help his son, but no matter what the doctor claims that there is no cure and not even the best doctors in the world could cure him. However Genma desperately begs even further even asking if there was a wizard who could cure him.

Seeing him so desperate and showing how much he cares for his son, with little kindness the doctor claims that there is a wizard faraway from the village rumored to performed miracles for anyone who has health problems. With the information in mind Genma sets off with his son to meet this wizard. Once arrived he meet with the mysterious wizard and he begs him to cure his son. Seeing how the young boy is sick from a deadly disease that he recognized, the mysterious man only did something that not only would it cure the boy but changing him forever.

He had implanted a Lacrima, a Magic crystalline substance, into young Ranma's body. It wasn't just a Lacrima, it was a Dragon Lacrima. The kind that is so rare and expensive, and possessing the magical powers from a Dragon. By implanting into the boy's body, it granting him Snow Dragon Slayer Magic.

The mysterious man's intention was that the disease has no effect on Dragons, so by doing so Ranma's physical body transformed into that of a Dragon, making him completely immune to the disease. Ever since that day, Ranma was completely grateful to the man for saving his life and own him much.

Since that day, Ranma learns that he is Second Generation of Dragon Slayers, from what he hears the First Generations are the ones who were taught by Dragons. While those from the second generation of Dragon Slayers have had Dragon Lacrima implanted into their bodies, granting them the ability to use Dragon Slayer Magic. Because they were not taught their abilities by a Dragon, they are considered artificial Dragon Slayers. Ranma doesn't mind if he was an artificial, he was so overjoyed that he could use magic and so many wonders he created with it.

After recovered he and his father move on continuing on their training trip, whenever he had a chance he would secretly train his magic without his father noticed him. So for the last 8 years, Ranma had train both in martial arts and Magic, one could said that with both skills could make a man very strong, but after meeting a master of martial arts he learns that using both skills wouldn't be fair for non magic-users in a fight so he created his own code of honor; if his opponent use martial arts, he use martial arts and if his opponent use magic, he use magic. He had been holding on ever since, sure there were times when he broke a few times in difficult situations, or use it on someone that annoys him to a high level, but he returns to hold on his words.

When he revealed his magic to everyone ever since he arrived in Nerima they were surprise. The first person to witness was Akane, she saw him using his magic when a wizard thief runs off with stolen Lacrimas and Ranma stops him by using the Dragon Slayer's breath attack. After that, the two of them got home and Ranma explain everything about how he learn his magic. He then use his magic against several dark wizards, monsters and other people who uses magic tools. He even fought other wizards who have picked a fight with him, that will be a story for another time.

There are some people believe that he should join a guild if he is that talented with his magic, however Ranma never consider on joining any guild. But it appears that he should join one after all.

As you see, the reason why Ranma would join one right now is due to yet another stupid thing that his father has done, as usual.

It all started on that fateful day in Nerima. The day was like the usual routine for everyone such as the residences of the Tendo Dojo, Genma and Soun plays Shogi again, Kasumi is doing the housework with Nodoka helping, Nabiki calculates her outcomes, Akane training by breaking bricks again, and as for Ranma, he was having a relaxing day for once since the chaotic daily routines he was having and hopefully wishes that it'll stay like this. However, his peaceful time was interrupted. He noticed that his father was running away and trying to hide himself from a man that came to see him, for whatever business he has, it wasn't always a pleasant sign, a strange man came in looking for Genma and the panda tries to hide himself, whatever it is he must have done something stupid, again.

Knowing that he's peaceful day wouldn't last long, he came down and get to the bottom of it, no doubt it might be another father of a girl that his engaged to and his here to claim him on marry his daughter. When he found the man with his father he knew that it must be something he did, like always, when everyone has gathered around, the man claims that Genma owns him his money he borrow and his here to claim it, but Genma denies it saying that he got the wrong man, however with so many witnesses in the room his plan on escaping had failed.

The man in question happens to be the duke of a small town where Genma and Ranma used to stay during their journey, everyone thought Genma made another deal of an arranged marriage with the duke's daughter but that wasn't the case. It turns out Genma has swindle a lot of people in their businesses, including borrowing money from anyone he made acquitances. With so many complains from the townsfolkes, the duke has tracked him down so that the man could repay what he owns to everybody. Not only that, Genma also promises to the people that he'll give them back the money he borrowed with interest, meaning he'll have to give a lot more than what he borrow knowing that he never intended on keeping his promises.

When someone in the room has ask the terrible question on much he needs to pay back, the duke answered that he owns everyone five hundred forty-three million two hundred thousand Jewels.

Five hundred. Forty-three million, Two hundred thousand. Jewels.

The total of numbers shocked everyone in the room, althought they all knew the kind of man Genma is, but they never knew how big his debts are and hearing the large debt he has was the first time to know of it. No doubt Genma doesn't intend to repay that large among of money.

The duke demands it that Genma pays it back, but the man makes a run for it to escape, but unfortunately for him a couple of wizards appeared in the backyard and they captured him. Normally, Ranma could have taken action when he saw those wizards trespassing and attacking his father making him think that they want to cause trouble, but he has since long learn about not jumping to conclusions. It turns out that they are wizards from a guild and they were hired by the duke to capture Genma if he ever tries to run off. Immobilized, Genma begs anyone in the room to help him out, but no one seems to want to help him out, including Ranma. So with Genma being captured, the duke declares that the two of them will negotiate like civilians about the debt. With that said, the duke and the wizards went off, taking Genma with them.

Since then, no one seems to be worried about Genma being taken away, likely they all knew that this day would come for him to be found by someone he swindle and he has to pay back. Nodoka doesn't seem to be too worried as well, believed that her husband has to man up and taking responsibilities. Including Ranma, he never imagines the day that his old man would pay the price for swindling so many people to come so soon. He always thought that he would eventually get caught by someone he swindle and pay for his crimes. He felt a slit of relief because with him gone there is no way his father will try stealing food from him, throwing him out of his room and into the Koi pond every morning, and berate him again about honor or not marrying Akane. Soun is still a problem, but with just him all alone it's lest stressful. The kind of man he is, he was still his father and they have spent time together during his childhood, so Ranma couldn't help but feeling a bit worried in the core, but on the other hand it was satisfying to see him what's coming to him after the duke tracked him down.

However, he had a feeling that something will happen to him like forcing himself to clean up some mess. That feeling came true as the duke came back and proclaimed that Genma Saotome went to jail cell, no doubt that their negotiation didn't go well and Genma must have said something that made things worse for him. And to make matters worst, Genma could only get out of prison if his family pays off half of the debt within a year. It completely enraged Ranma to the core that he Roared at the pratice dummies modeled after Genma's panda form. His father, his own stupid, selfish, dishonorable father has pushed his responsibilities to his family, which is only him and his mother. Ranma knew that he had made a lot of stupid and dishonorable action over the past, this was the last straw, his mother can't afford paying half of the five hundred forty-three million two hundred thousand Jewels within a year and he certainly can't pay it off with his allowance.

So having much thought he made his decision, he told his mother that he'll set off on a journey and join a guild, there he'll do the jobs to save up money to pay back half of the debt. Nodoka approved the idea since he is a wizard and most wizards who are from different guilds earn a lot of money when completed a job request, she also believes that it may be a good experience for him saying that in a guild it may help him to change and learn more about himself. He didn't quite get on what she mean, but he figured if he joins a guild perhaps his magic will grow stronger he can do tougher jobs with bigger rewards.

So packing his stuff he went on his own and left Nerima, and Tokyo, to go any places that it may have a guild that may have jobs with higher rewards. Ranma knew the risks of leaving Nerima, if word got out that he left town, the fiancees and rivals are going to go all out on trying to finding him or blaming on one another making the usual chaos routine even worst in the district. Chances are that they may try to find him knowing that Nabiki would sell the information, but the only problem was that he never mention on which guild he'll join, so their quest on finding him may going to be harder for them and no doubt they'll pick a fight to any guilds just to find him. Martial artists with some of them having incredible techniques they may be, but he knew that they don't stand a chance against some of the strongest wizards, he did learn a thing or two about guilds and those were that some wizards are very strong that they gained their own titles, S-class wizards which are the strongest of them all and finally the guilds' masters, no doubt they don't stand a chance.

Ranma stops his tracks as he looks around and said, "Looks like I made it." It only took him a day on train to arrived here, he also double check his surroundings to see if he wasn't being follow on the road, luckily no one followed him. "Now to look for a guild, hopefully they'll accept my application."

He goes back on his tracks in hopes to find a guild, he learns that Magnolia is house to one guild in this city, so he has to look around and asking one of the people of this town about the guild and directions.

This is a x-overs between Ranma 1/2 and Fairy Tail that will be coming soon. It take place in Fairy Tail world but the events of Ranma 1/2 happen, and now Ranma is going to join a guild in order to pay the debt that his foolish father has made.

You guesed it right, he's going to join (not revealing spoilers), because not only will he be able to work but he'll make new friends and soon understand the true meaning of comrades. He will finally have friends who won't use him nor taking him down. Because (guild) is the only place were everyone treats as family.

He's in for an adventure of his life.
