Here's another Ranma 1/2 idea, crossover with Koihime Musou.
Wild Stallion in the Three Kingdoms
The two months since the failed wedding were probably the worst he had since coming to Nerima in the first place. The fiancées were starting to go wild in their attempts to claim him as their husband. Ukyo would often lament her lost childhood whenever she saw Ranma and would often try to convince him to choose her be it with bribes of food or simply using puppy dog eyes which he was known to be weak against. Shampoo just tried even more of her usual spices, herbs, and magical trinkets to try and make Ranma her husband by force while Kodachi continued her attempts to drug Ranma with a paralytic agent and drag him off to have her wicked way with him. It was obvious that they had long since stopped making the distinction between walking down the proverbial aisle with him and dragging him there kicking and screaming so long as a priest said they were married and they had a ring on their fingers to prove it. There was no question about it, the fiancées were getting desperate and making the chaos in his life that much worse because of it.
The rivals were just as bad in their own way. Kuno was going at Ranma with an actual sword for daring to try to marry Akane without his permission, actually believing that he somehow had some kind of right to dictate who Akane dated and/or married. Ryoga was attacking whenever he could find Ranma because Akane had been royally pissed about the wedding and thus Ryoga felt like it was his duty to teach Ranma a lesson about it, conveniently forgetting that he helped ruin the wedding in the first place. Although in his defense he had gotten lost again and crashed the wedding by accident. Mousse was only attacking because Shampoo was doing every dirty trick she could think of to force Ranma to consummate her marriage be it with Passion Spice, or some other mind-altering herb. As such, Mousse decided since a wedding wasn't possible with everyone out to interfere, it was best to simply get rid of Ranma himself. It was probably the most logical decision he had made in his life.
The parents were of absolutely no help, as usual. Genma and Soun would as always berate Ranma for not marrying his true fiancée like they said he should, forgetting as usual that Genma was the one who made some of those fiancée problems in the first place while the rest refused to admit defeat and go away. Nodoka just insisted that he could take the other girls as mistresses and marry Akane, but Ranma knew he'd be dead before the sentence suggesting that would leave his mouth. Those girls were determined to make sure they were the only girls Ranma looked at and were prepared to use massive amounts of violence to make sure it happened. He didn't bother trying to explain this to the parents though since they always seemed to rationalize away anything that didn't fit into their world view.
Things with Akane weren't getting any better either. Oh, things seemed to have been fine at first, but about a week into the new tricks and attacks the Fiancée Brigade would unleash her temper became as bad as ever, often finding fault with Ranma for not telling those other girls to take a hike and once more proclaiming him to be a pervert who just wanted a harem of hussies like his mother wanted for him.
Since that week, Ranma couldn't go out of the house for a few minutes before returning to Akane's pointed questioning. It was always 'who were you with', 'what were you doing', 'what took you so long', and 'can you prove it'. If he didn't give an answer she liked, she'd get angry and smash him with that damn mallet of hers again. It all just served to show him that despite everything he had done, rescuing her from kidnappers and princes, pulling her fat out of the fire like with Kodachi or Picolet, and even once killing a phoenix-man and self-proclaimed god, Akane had absolutely no faith or trust in him. She would often strike him for the littlest of slights or would really lay it to him when it seemed like he was attempting to do or even thinking of something perverted in her eyes.
As much as Ranma really wanted to tell the other girls to back off, he had a couple of reasons not to. Number One: Ukyo had a legitimate claim on him since Genma had accepted her dowry and ran with it, probably selling it for cash the first chance he got after devouring everything edible on it. Number Two: Shampoo felt she had a legitimate claim on him thanks to her tribal laws and would thus never give up and Ranma had a sneaking suspicion that if she failed, she would have to face some kind of punishment likely worse than a Jusenkyo curse. Number Three: Kodachi was just an obsessive nut like her brother and wouldn't let go of Ranma for anything. Number Four: Ranma hated hurting a girl's feelings.
Oh sure, those reasons for the fiancées all had loopholes he might be able to get out of with, but he doubted it would work. Like the rivals, the fiancées tended to ignore things that they didn't like and instead turned it into something they would prefer to hear themselves through use of feminine charms or fake tears. Ranma cursed himself for being such a sucker for it.
That was usually how all of his days boiled down. The fiancées would attempt to seduce him be it through charm or force, get in a fight with each other, damage some property, Akane would find out and lose her temper with its usual explosion and belt him one, the fathers would berate him once he regained consciousness or got home, the pair would try to force yet another wedding, dinner, sometimes some quiet, sleep, and sometimes deal with a fiancée who would try to sneak into his bed during the night (i.e. Shampoo or Kodachi.). Pepper in his rivals going at him in groups or trying to hit him with a sneak attack and you had his day in a nutshell. It was all one continuous cycle of people trying to pull him in all directions, trying to dictate his life on their terms with absolutely no consideration towards his own feelings and he was getting sick of it. The only problem was that he had no way out because of both his honour code and the others who refused to listen to anything except what they wanted to hear.
It was starting to become too much for him. He was getting tired of having to fight every day before school even began. He was getting tired being accused of being some sort of pervert by either Akane or the rivals. He was tired of the girls in his life trying to pull him in whatever direction they wanted, threatening violence if he didn't obey like a happy puppy. He was definitely tired of the parents avoiding their own responsibilities and telling him to just swallow his pride and bow his head to what he was told, or in his mother's case become the pervert so many accused him of being by taking all of the girls. He didn't care how 'manly' it was supposed to be, he just didn't want to.
Lately Ranma has been given an assignment to write a report about the history of the Three Kingdoms era in China by his history teacher. It wasn't easy because history isn't one of his best grades, whenever history class start Ranma will eventually fall to sleep out of boredom or not giving a slide of interest. There are times when he ever pays attention to history is when involves martial arts, magical artifacts, curses or supernatural beings (demons and ghosts) when he was in a situation.
One day at the library, he rented a book about that history and needless to say he was hooked on it. Brave warriors who fought each other to unify the country and each warlord had their own ambition. He was so hooked on it that he reads it almost everyday when he has free time. He even wished that he could fight one of those warriors, they sounded tough and he could always have a good fight.
He was surprised to hear that the Romance of the Three Kingdoms was a popular history that many people had made so many things like movies, animations, manga and video games (from Daisuke and Hitoshi).
TIMESKIP
A male teen was standing in front of a glass case which displayed a bronze mirror. He was tall with pale brown hair and purple eyes, very fit physically too if he had to add, but it wasn't his physicald add features that caught Ranma's attention. It was the air around him and the way he carried himself. The pigtail boy assessed that the other boy was a martial artist and a very good one. He left no opening on the way he stood and even if he was focused so much on the bronze mirror on the display, there was no doubt he would react fast if any slightest movement was made against him.
And frankly, the amount of attention he put on the bronze mirror was enough to disturb Ranma—he swore the boy was muttering something about the mirror. It was as if he was going to rob it at any moment.
-TIMESKIP-
"Tsk, annoying pest," grunted the mysterious teen as he put the bronze mirror to his pocket before he settled into Kenpo stance. "Then I'll just have to force my way through."
The pigtail martial artist felt his killer intent around him spiked dangerously, Ranma frowned.
'This guy…he is a trained fighter and killer.' thought Ranma before he moved into action.
-TMIESKIPPING THE FIGHT-
As the light got brighter and the pigtailed martial artist started to lose consciousness, the thief's voice resounded in their ears.
"…Now you've done it…It has started again."
"What is starting again!?" demanded Ranma out as the light consumed his consciousness.
"Despite the extra interference, the stage is set…"
"Gah! What the hell are you talking about, you bastard!" shouted Ranma, struggling to keep himself awake.
"No one can stop it now! The wheel has set into motion and it won't stop until the curtain closes!"
"Now witness the truth of this world! That would be your punishment…for your thoughtless interference!"
Whiteness washed out as he lost his consciousness
The first thing Ranma saw as he regained his consciousness was a vast blue sky with slight clouds and he felt a pounding headache. He sat up as he tried to regain his bearing after he blacked out with a hand on his head to lessen his headache and saw a mountain range in the distance.
"Where am I?" asked Ranma with a confused frown before he looked around.
He then recalled the fight with the thief and how the mirror broke after he kicked the thief. He remembered the light from the broken mirror engulfed him and the thief. Apparently, that light sent him to this place wherever it was.
Ranma groaned. "Great, another stupid magic artifact that got me into trouble, again." He said. Back at the museum he suspected that whatever special that mirror was it's probably a magic artifact considering that he has experiences with those, which always cause him some troubles.
"But whatever that mirror was, it sent me all the way here, is it like the Nanban Mirror?" He wondered if the mirror was anything like the Nanban Mirror, an item that could send anyone anywhere or anytime if the person desires.
"…Now you've done it…It has started again. Despite the extra interference, the stage is set… No one can stop it now! The wheel has set into motion and it won't stop until the curtain closes! Now witness the truth of this world! That would be your punishment…for your thoughtless interference!"
"Just what does he mean by that?" Ranma asked no one in particular.
He was broken from his musings when he heard a snide voice called out to him.
"Well, well, look what we got here boys." Ranma heard a voice as he turned around, he saw three men both wearing clothing that look like they may come from an ancient era.
-TMIESKIPPING THE ENTIRE BEGINNING AND THE END OF THE BATTLE-
"The museum?" Ranma repeated. Could it be the same museum where it all started. "You found me in front of the museum?"
"Yes, you were unconscious and I brought you here." Dr. Tofu said.
Ranma couldn't believe what he was hearing, the last thing he remembers is fighting against Saji until Ukitsu cast a spell that black him OUT.
"Dr. Tofu, please tell me..." Ranma looks at the doctor with questioning eyes. "how long have I gone?" He asked.
"How long?" Dr. Tofu repeated.
"As in how many days, weeks or months since I left Furinkan." Ranma confirmed.
"You never left." Dr. Tofu responded. "If you did I could have been told."
Hearing that made Ranma shocked, he never left? Just to be sure. "When was the last time I saw you?" He asked. He needs to know if it is true.
"About four days ago, I treated you when you had another fight." Dr. Tofu responded.
'Four days?' Ranma repeated. That is until he remembered, on the first day he got in another fight and that's where he went to the clinic for treatment for pain aches. Then the next day he received homework to write about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. With the rivals trying to get his head or finances trying to get his hand and the fathers harboring him to marry Akane he didn't get much studying for two days. And on the third day where he finally has peace and quiet to study and goes to the museum, there he meets Saji and that fateful night he fought him for the mirror until he was sent to the Three Kingdoms.
Ranma felt a slight pain before he finally noticed that most of his body is covered by bandages. "Dr. Tofu, these are...?"
"Yes, when I found you, you had bruises and cuts." Dr. Tofu said remembering how badly injured Ranma was.
Ranma checks on his body, and no doubt about it he knows perfectly well who gave him those injuries. 'So... it wasn't a dream after all.' He had doubts if his time in the Three Kingdoms was a dream, after all who would dream about staying in a different time period for a very long time and then woke up to find out you were asleep since last night?
"So who was the one you fought to have those injuries?" Dr. Tofu asked. If he knows Ranma well he would know who fought him and gave him pain, rival or someone else.
"It was someone... who wanted to make things bad. I fought him in a different place and at a different time." Ranma said before he realized something important.
'Everyone!' He and his friends won the battle but he was transported back here!
"Dr. Tofu, did you see anything around when you picked me up?!" He asked desperately. "Like a shattered mirror?"
"Wow, easy there." Seeing Ranma being all work out like that was rare to see in him. "When I picked you up I didn't see anything around nor a shattered mirror. Why do you ask?"
Hearing that the mirror, the main object that transported him to the ancient era, was nowhere around left him feeling like his heart ripped off.
Ranma was silent for a moment. "No. Is nothing." The only words he said.
-TIMESKIP-
"Thanks for the food." Ranma rises up from his seat and leaves the living room leaving food still in his plate, he didn't have much appetite.
"Ara, Ranma didn't finish his food, how rare." Kasumi said, she had never seen Ranma not eating all of his food.
"And he didn't even try to stop his dad from stealing his food." Nabiki added, when breakfast started Ranma didn't stop his father from stealing his food, it was like it wasn't worth it or anything.
"Doesn't that boy know that eating is the most important thing in martial arts?" Genma exclaimed although he was eating his food.
Akane, on the other hand, was suspicious of him as to why he didn't finish his breakfast. He usually finished it all and prevented his father from stealing any of it. She believes that he was probably going to get food from either Ukyo or Shampoo, if that's the case she'll have her mallet ready.
While on his way to school, Ranma was walking on the ground and not on the fence that was right next to him, usually he would walk on it like everyday but he wasn't in the mood. He just couldn't help himself but feel depressed, sure he was brought back home which anyone could be happy about but to him he's real home is in Ancient China with his loved ones. He missed everyone back home, he missed his friends and his lovers.
Ranma signed before he lay his eyes on Akane, who was next to him, who was eyeing on him suspiciously.
Knowing full well, Ranma asks anyway. "Why are you looking at me like that?" He was getting tired of Akane looking at him.
"Nothing." Akane frowned.
Ranma signed as he knew full well that Akane doesn't trust him one bit since the Failed Wedding, for a fiancée she didn't even show signs of concern when Ranma didn't eat all his food or doesn't walk on the fence today instead assumed he was being a pervert and readied to pound him.
"Whatever you said." Ranma signed as he continued to walk. Akane fumed but was still keeping on eye on him.
-TIMESKIP-
"Ranma?"
"Huh?" Ranma turns around to see Kasumi. Out of everyone in the Tendo household, she's the one with concern about Ranma's strange behaviour, he hasn't finished his breakfast, didn't even try to stop his father from stealing his food, wasn't in a mood for a spar and a sudden lever of maturity.
"Oh, Kasumi. What is it?" Ranma asked.
"Ranma, is something the matter?" Kasumi asked.
Knowing what she meant, Ranma does his best to hide it. "Nothing's wrong."
"Ranma, you've been acting strange lately ever since you came back from Dr. Tofu's clinic." Kasumi stated. She saw the way that Ranma was acting and thought he may be depressed about his life going.
"..." Ranma doesn't have anything to avoid, he couldn't say no to Kasumi, she's the only person who understands what Ranma went through after the failed wedding. She could probably believe his time in the Three Kingdom era, after all she's aware of magic and telling her a mirror sends him to that era will help him out.
So Ranma decided to tell Kasumi the whole story. He told her his arrival in China in its ancient period and meeting Kanu Unchou. He also told her of how he was surprised to see the famous historical figures as women and how each of them look younger in their own way. He told her how he went on a journey to explore, meeting new friends and helping people in vain. And the fact that he was called the Messenger of Heaven, the one who will bring an end to the turbulent time although he doesn't believe himself to be one but his friends strongly does and how he led an army to fight off the bandits.
It made Kasumi surprised to hear that Ranma was made magistrate to a village then governor of a province, he said that he had help on how to govern and how paperwork was his worst enemy.
He even told her his war experiences and confessed that he killed a lot of men and wasn't really comfortable for him, but he had friends who helped him to overcome that feeling which made Kasumi smile. Heeven told her his experience in a war against the Yellow Turban, Kasumi giggled when he said they won by using pop idols to sing. He even went in an alliance to fight the tyranny Totaku but turns out that everything was a lie and Ranma had led the alliance to victory and saved one person who was framed. He also said that he found himself a lover, but before long he had developed new feelings for the other girls and since then he builded a harem. He quickly told her that he made it not out of lust but by love, Kasumi quickly understood. He told her how he forged an alliance against Sousou but he ended up saving her from a magician who hypnotized her, after all that Sousou surrounded herself. He even convinced the two rulers to forge a coexistence between the Three Kingdoms.
But then here comes the worst.
They were about to announce the unification when they were attacked by the White Clothes and how that four-eyed mage, Ukitsu and the thief, Saji, appeared and the magician had a giant mirror which sent him back to the world.
"Then the next thing I know I woke up on Dr. Tofu's clinic and found out I was only gone for one night." Ranma finished his story.
Ranma looked up to see Kasumi who had a surprising expression.
"Oh my. It sounded like you had quite an adventure." Kasumi said.
Ranma rubs the back of his neck. "At first I wanted to go home but then I realized that I made a home. I had friends by my side and I fought to protect the weak as would a martial artist do. And I finally understand what it means. I had people who could count on me, who appreciated what I did, who didn't see me as a tool to use and… who loved me." When he said that last part, he remembered Kanu and the rest of the girls with smiles on their faces. He wanted to see them again.
"Oh Ranma." Kasumi couldn't help but feel sorry. Not only did he have to bare the daily routines after the failed wedding but separated from the people he bonded with and he could never see them. All she could do is doing her best to help him. "What will you do? Isn't there a way for you to go back?"
-timeskipping-
"It looks like you've found a way home." Kasumi said.
"Yeah. Seems like it." Ranma replied holding the cracked mirror. He looks at it which reflects his reflection, he thought he couldn't have a way to go back but here it is, the Nanban Mirror.
"So are you going?" Kasumi asked.
"I've been doing some thinking. Should I stay here for a little longer to solve my problems in my life or should I run away from those problems?" Ranma wondered. He thought long and hard about the problems in his life, with the fiancées trying to persuade him, with the rivals trying to get rid of him and with the parents harboring him to marry Akane, plus he also has to deal with his problem with Akane. So he had made up his mind. "But I realized those problems would never be solved, knowing how stubborn those people are. They won't stop until I probably make their dreams come true, but I don't want to be part of any of those. They keep talking about honor only for them to be dishonorable. And I'm getting tired of this chaos, I'm tired of being stressed all the time. So for that, the fight of getting my hand, challenging me and the Saotome-Tendo Agreement are officially over!"
Kasumi looks at him before she smiles, so running away was the only option. Not the right way but it is his way, his choice. "Well, I do hope father would eventually get over the loss of the agreement."
Yeah, in all honesty, those scenes were written a long ago and saved in my docs, never touching for a long time. But I decided to posted them here.
So, yeah, from what you read; Ranma got transport into the alternative ancient China where the Three Kingdoms era lived, yeah he replaced Kazuto Hongo. Got involved in wars and politics, but as well meeting and making new friends and allies. During his time in 3K, he matured and became a better person than he was before, meaning less of a jerk and watching what he said. And he found love, before he gained several more lovers (but NOT ALL, the KM prota married more than 70 girls, seriously 0_o. And no little girls involved).
And this takes place after the failed wedding, the one from the final chapter as the story ends, and things went south for our pigtailed martial artist as things gone worst (I was influnced by Ten Faced Paladin).
But since this was from a long time ago, I was having second thoughts because of one thing; Ranma has never learned war stradegies. Kazuto was thought by his grandfather and thus how they were able to won the war. And I can see myself losing interest with this idea unless I find alternatives. Heck, I was thinking of adding a bit of Tokusatsu-esque to the mix.
And let me just say that Koihime Musou is a pretty popular franchises with numberous games and spinoffs, even collaborations with other games, with its anime adaptation. But I did not played them, I've only watched the anime, then I watched the walkthrough of the first game (PC version), and then as time passed I learned more about the new games that came out, well little by little and the best I could do. Regardless, I still like the anime. And to think that BaseSon actually making new games again, they really to think of ways than retelling the stories.
I may give new updates of project for this idea.
See you then.
