AN: An update finally. I actually have two or three chapters written on paper. No smut this time
Today was Saturday afternoon, I was sitting against the doorway that led downstairs with Himiko curled up on me. We just finished fighting another group that she had to infiltrate for the League. They had been smuggling guns so Himiko had me be extra careful. We did all stealth takedowns instead of me bursting through the front door. Aizawa-sensei would have been proud.
She pulled my vigilante helmet off, a big smile on her face. "You did so good today babe! You even stopped yourself from making a light show when activating your quirk!"
She then gave me a deep kiss that I enthusiastically returned. When I felt her hands go down to my belt, I stopped her.
"Himiko, you know I have to get back to UA to meet up with my friends," I answered her questioning stare. Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki wanted to head to our dual quirk user's household. Todoroki had been what equated to bragging for him about his sister's cooking. He kept assuring us that his father would not be there.
She frowned. "I just want to keep you all to myself somehow."
"If you could without getting maimed or something, you would kidnap and place me under lockdown in a heartbeat." I smiled when she laughed. Was it wrong to be so casual about the truth? I know people would say I should not let my guard down like I have been doing, but I knew I was safe. For now.
"You know me so well babe," She said before giving me a peck on the cheek, "Now get outta here before you are late."
Returning the kiss, I quickly changed into my streetwear. Himiko approved, due to both Sato and Jiro. I found myself more comfortable wearing these clothes that showed off my body just a bit. Even my mom liked them! After a final kiss, the two of us parted ways. I texted Todoroki that I was on my way.
A few minutes later, I met the trio at the train station. "Midoriya, punctual as always!"
I shook my head at Iida's proclamation, as he didn't know how tempted I was to be late. "You know me."
"Your outfit looks nice!" Uraraka commented, Todoroki agreeing with a nod.
She had changed her behavior the last few weeks, stopping all the hovering. She took Ashido's advice seriously. She still stuck close, like she always did before. Like now as we got on the train, she sat to my right.
"Midoriya, did you enjoy yourself earlier?" Iida asked.
"Yeah. Going through the comics store was fun since I haven't done it in a while, but nothing caught my eye," I easily lied, I had made this up earlier this week since I could not use my trusty visiting my mom one since she was in America with my dad for the next two weeks. I know Himiko would exploit this for more free time at home.
Iida began telling us everything he did today, starting off with his visit to his brother. It was simple chatter the ride there.
I sat on top of a box in the warehouse I was in, checking my messages. Izuku-kun had sent me a message he was on the train with his friends. He had gotten better at remembering to tell me these things. I sent a few kissy faces and told him to enjoy himself.
"Shigiraki would want more," Spinner said. He had just finished counting the weapons and cahs Izuku-kun and I had stashed.
I glared at him. "The cops were fast to get there! They must have been following the buyers because my group wasn't trailed! Plus, I'm only one person!"
The truth was that Izuku wanted ample evidence left behind for the authorities to keep those guys off the street. So we left half of both the guns and money. Always finding a way to squeeze in his heroics. So cute. So loveable.
"This is more than what Shigaraki requested. He will be pleased," Kurogiri spoke up, always the mediator. Or nanny because everyone was hot-headed. The mist man made a portal. "We should leave."
I texted my love that I was heading back to the base. I picked up the cash, taking my cut and ignoring the squawk made by Spinner. I blew a raspberry at him. "You're bigger than me and I did the hard work already."
I giggled at his grumbles, knowing he wasn't really upset. He just wanted me to ask first.
When we entered the home base, I dropped the cash at Boss Man's feet. Spinner left his load right beside it. I hopped onto the counter as I waited for Shiggy as I waited for Shigiraki to inspect his "mats" He had Twice helping him, who was surprisingly good at keeping up with inventory. I guess when your craziness makes you at least double-check everything, it helps with management,
When he was seemingly finished, he took a wad of cash out of the money I brought and threw it at me. "You've done an excellent job. Here's an extra reward for completing the optional objectives in your quest."
I gave him a dazzling smile. "Thanks Bossman. Anything else you need from me?"
"Yes. Tuesday, Dabi and you will be doing some co-op. It should only take the day to finish," he said, waving his hand dismissively, "You will get the details Monday."
I walked off to my room, slightly upset I had to work with Flaming Angry Man. At least it was just one day.
(Todoroki Household)
Sitting between Todoroki and Urarala, I looked down at the appetizing Soba in front of me. I took my first bite and my friend was telling the truth about his sister's cooking! My mom's was better, but that was the bias speaking.
"This is delicious!" Uraraka was the first to speak her mind, as usual.
"I concur," Iida added, with me nodding.
"So how did you three meet my brother?" Fuyumi asked, "I would ask my brother, but you know how he gets."
"Being dramatic," Natsu said.
"I am not dramatic," Shouto responded with his typical blank stare.
"Not intentionally," Uraraka teased.
"Shouto, we all remember the Hand Crusher talk," Iida added.
"I thought as my friends you were supposed to be on my side?" a confused Shouto asked. "Am I dramatic, Midoriya?"
I flinched when all the attention was on me. "I agree with Uraraka, but I'm sure I'm the same."
"Naw, you're worse Dekun-kun!" I tried to seem disappointed but seeing the small smiles on my friends made it impossible.
"Shouto wasn't that receptible to being acquainted with the class," Iida began.
"That's an understatement," quipped Uraraka, "He was a total ice queen."
I groaned. "Uraraka please."
She laughed as Iida spoke again. "It wasn't until the sports festival that Midoriya was able to break through his social barriers."
"You mean smash," Uraraka added.
"He told me that my quirk was my own," Shouto clarified for his siblings.
"Two guys get into a fight and end up understanding each other at the end, That's the gist of it?"
Natsu asked. Shouto looked at me before nodding his head. "Sounds legit."
Fuyumi seemed annoyed. "Really Natsu?"
"It's a man thing." Natsu shrugged, with Uraraka agreeing.
The eldest sibling shook her head. "Anyways, what made you three want to be heroes?"
"I wanted to live up to my family's long legacy of being Pro Heroes!" Iida enthusiastically, not noticing the slight strain of the Todoroki family's smiles, "From our humble beginnings as the Viligante Quick Silver, I want to show the world how true heroes are supposed to be!"
"I wanted to be a Hero to protect people," I said to relieve some tension.
"With a smile like All Might," Todoroki added, "Like father, like son."
"I'm not his son." I took a bite of Soba after my grumble.
"I have evidence that you are the secret love child of All Might," He said with a small smirk. Was he messing with me?
"Uraraka hasn't said why she wanted to be a hero yet," I tried to deflect.
Uraraka squeaked as attention was on her. "Um, well you see..."
"Uraraka became a Pro Hero to help parents financially since she wants to show her gratitude for the support they gave and the love she has for them," Shuto said, "Did I get that right?"
Uraraka nodded shyly.
"I couldn't have said it better myself!" Iida added approvingly.
(U.A.)
I landed on the padded floor, my back against it due to Sat. "Bro, you're getting better at this pretty fast."
"Thanks," I said as I grabbed the offered helping hand to get up.
"I mean it," he said, "I would say you're sparring with someone in your free time."
I thought back to the spars Toga and I had. "Something like that."
Sato had a knowing look in his eyes. "You've been up to some special sparring?"
I felt my face heat up from the suggestive eyebrow wiggling he was doing. It was like two caterpillars squirming on his face with how fast they were moving. He clapped me on the back as he laughed at my distress. "Go join Momo's group."
I nodded as I left. Today was a sparring day, suggested by Kachan. He had many people agreeing with him, mostly the guys. But he wasn't given complete control of the event. Most of the ideas had to be approved by our class president and vice president.
Iida had the great idea to do a raffle for Sunday activities. And of course, Kachan won the first one. We split into three groups: Stand up combat, grappling, and weapon use. Ojiro was the head of stand-up, with Sato as the second. Grappling was led by Kirishima and Weapon use was headed by Yaoyorozu.
When I got to her group, I was relieved to see my opponent was Jirou since Kachan had come over at the same time. My secret helper went over to the table of assorted weapons for us to use.
I saw her pick up a katana while I instinctively grabbed a combat knife. I put it down after examing it for a few seconds. "Midoriya, the blades are dull. You don't have to worry about hurting someone."
I nodded at my class president's words, not surprised she did such a thing. I grabbed the quarterstaff instead. I tried to get a feel for it, but it just felt awkward in my hands.
"Maybe you should have kept the knife," Jirou said as I walked up to her.
"Wouldn't have made a difference. I don't know what I'm doing with either." Moments later, we were sparring. Both of us were amateurs with our chosen weapons, but she did seem more familiar with hers. Her simple hacks and slashes were effective against me trying to hold the weapon right. Yaoyorozu must have trained a lot to use this weapon! Even my first time trying to use a knife wasn't this bad!
I heard a few chuckles when I almost tripped myself with the staff. My opponent had used this opportunity to send a strike that had me falling down as I tried to block it. I landed on my rear with Jirou pointing her sword at me and a smirk on her face. I heard Yaoyorozu call the match quickly afterward.
The next few times were spent listening to our class president go over our match. She spent most of the time showing me how to properly use the quarterstaff. I could feel her excitement as she spoke, someone taking interest in her weapon. I kept a small smile on my face, knowing how it felt when someone else finally liked something you liked. Jirou seemed more interested than me, she was a good friend.
I checked the time after she was done. We still had an hour left until Aizawa sensei kicked us out. I looked over to a corner to see our homeroom teacher wrapped in his yellow sleeping bag. Like a caterpillar in a cocoon. Some things never changed.
