Sorry for the wait on an update! I've been busy, catching up on Detective Conan and writing a little bit of Dragon Ball Z fanfiction. I hope you enjoy! Sorry this chapter is short, I don't wanna give too much away too soon.

It was now or never.
Ran sat anxiously at the edge of her bed as she contemplated what she was going to do. She could call Shinichi, and be given another excuse as to why he couldn't meet her, or she could find out for herself. Knowing Conan-kun would contact him and give him the heads-up, she decided to take the risk. She could fly to the United States. Ran knew she was strong, and she could figure it out once she was there. Ambushing him would probably work. Once she was standing in front of him, she'd be able to finally work it out of him. What's truly wrong. It couldn't possibly be a case that had taken him away from her for all this time, Shinichi was too smart for that. Even if he had some breaks in between, this amount of time was unjustifiable. They were due to graduate from school soon, and graduation wouldn't feel right without him standing beside her.
On the other end of town, Conan and Haibara were heading back to Agasa-hakase's home, their plan being devised on their walk over. To fool Ran again with another excuse wouldn't work. They both agreed on Kudo Shinichi making an appearance, albeit a short one. Not that he had an extended one in quite some time. The problem lies with how he would be able to make an escape just before the temporary antidote wore off. The two knew she would be even more suspicious than usual, and that his departure had to be justified to her. There needed to be validation, and finding that would be difficult.
"We can't just surprise her. She wouldn't believe for a second that Mom and Dad didn't call me to tell me what happened." Conan began.
Haibara agreed, bringing her hand to her chin.
"She will also notice that you're not around."
Smacking his head in frustration, he emitted a low growl.
"Shit. What do we do, Haibara?!" Frustrated, he took his phone from his pocket and searched through his text messages.
"What about your detective friend from Osaka? Maybe he can help." Haibara continued.
"Hm...Hattori." Conan flipped through his contacts, pulling his number to his screen. "I'll call him."
Ran grabbed her small suitcase, one that she used the last time she has traveled to New York. Her passport still inside, she quickly threw in several necessities. Holding her passport, the memories of their last trip began to fill her head. The case on the plane, the play, Sharon Vineyard...A small tear escaped her purple eyes as she thought back on that case. The familiar head pain rushing back brought her back to her bed. She reached to her desk and grabbed the picture of the two of them together on the Kiyomizu-Dera, clutching it tight to her chest.

"Oi, Kudo!" The Osakan began. "What's up? Haven't seen ya since Kyoto!"
"Not now, Hattori! Ran's on her way to New York to find 'Kudo Shinichi' " Conan stammered, biting his lip in anger.
"Ehh?" Hattori questioned. "What do ya mean by that?"
Pacing, He brought the phone closer to his face. "She thinks I'm sick and hiding in New York."
Hattori's smile dropped to a frustrated frown instantly.
"Sounds like we're going on a trip, Kudo."
Hattori was hesitant to drop everything to go on a last minute trip, but for his friend who was in danger, nothing was out of reach.

Her flight would be leaving in 5 hours, with only 2 layovers. As Ran approached the airport, she checked her phone one last time. No missed calls. She would really be catching him off guard, or so she figured. She'd call him once she arrived, and he'd have no choice but to face her. For now, she'd leave Conan-kun a quick text so neither him nor her father would worry…silly, she knew. They'd be coming after her, too, but she had to get this done. Not just for her, but for Shinichi. They needed to finally be together, and Ran was going to make it happen.
