Remnant Goes to the Movies 7
Disclaimer; I do not own RWBY or the movies within. Wish I did, though.
Universal Soldier 2
"Okay, everyone. Intermission's over." At the words from 'Racer', the audience retakes their seats. A lot of them excited as they wonder what'll happen next. Ambrosius and Jinn are both most eager to see what happens next. Jacques Schnee, however, is not so enthused.
'The absolute nerve! Having my other in an insignificant position! Under my old name, no less!' As he stews, Winter and Ironwood finish reading the file. Extreme pallor to their faces before Ironwood turns the tablet off and passes it back to 'Racer', Winter opening up.
"So much… senseless atrocity. It has some parallels to our war, but ours wasn't… that extensive." Ironwood nods in agreement with her.
"Yeah, well, the atrocities of Vietnam pale in comparison to those of WW2. Now that'd get your skin to crawl." At their head kinks, he adds, "Story for another time. Any other questions?" Ruby nods and pipes up.
"Why does Jaune sound… different in this movie? And, if his memory had just been cleared, how did he recall so fast? Was it no good?"
"Ah, excellent questions, Miss Rose. In this one, he's of French-Belgian descent. More like he'd started building up a tolerance for it, as did Tyrian. Now, on with the movie." With that, he resumes the movie.
Inside the truck, Neptune's activating the tracking beacon that's embedded within GR44 and Flynt watches the monitors.
"Tracking system activated and we're in business." Neptune's words get a quick follow-up from Flynt.
"We've picked them up, moving due east, 7 miles ahead of us." Hazel goes to in between them at that.
"Estimated time of interception?"
"Four minutes." Flynt's reply gets Hazel to mark the time on his watch.
"Four minutes and marking."
The SUV, still being pushed by GR44, is now rolling into a motel/gas station parking lot. The sign for the motel says, 'Lucky Motor Court'. Only the 'C' and 'O' are both unlit.
ASH FORK, AZ; DAY TWO
Once it's stopped, Vernal puts it in 'Park', exits and meets up with 44 as he comes back to the driver's door. Noticing that he's sweating, she gives him a slight smile.
"How you doing?" Closing the door, she goes on as she walks backwards. "You must be pretty tired after all that… you know, pushing and stuff. Okay." Seeing him eye her intently, she adds, "Well, I'm going to go. I'll be right back. Alright?"
Before she can move further away, GR44 lightly grips her left arm by the bicep.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to go make a phone call." Feeling nervous, she asks, "You mind?" With that, he releases his grip and she walks away. "Okay. Okay."
Stepping into the nearby telephone booth, she reaches into her purse, brings out her directory and starts looking for change. GR44, however, makes his way to the office. Maintaining his observation of her as she deposits the change she'd found.
"Okay. All right." She then starts rotating the dial on the phone.
The view changes to inside the office as GR44 walks past the large window as a petite tri-color haired woman lounges on the chair. Her eyes closed as if asleep. Walking in, GR44 goes right to the front desk.
"I need some gas." The desk clerk has his right hand up in gun fashion, rubber band stretched between his thumb and index finger as he aims.
"Ran out of gas yesterday. Refueling truck will be here in the morning." Lightly dropping his thumb, he chortles as a cat screeches before looking toward him. "You want to rent a roo… oom?"
Roman and Neo's eyes go wide at their others before smirking and shrugging.
"Nice outfit."
Back at the phone booth, Vernal's agitated that the call didn't go through as the phone was out of order.
"Shit!" Slamming the receiver down, she exits.
Back in the office, Roman notes the heavy sweat before concern appears on his face.
"Hey, pal, you don't look so good." Hearing light beeping, GR44 looks to his left wrist and pops the cover of the thermal monitor he's wearing. Seeing the red light blinking rapidly, he notes Roman eying it as well before he closes the cover.
"I need to cool down."
"Oh, well, all our rooms have air conditioning. I got some with waterbeds." Roman then gives a wink as Vernal enters the office.
"Hey, the pay phone's out. Do you have a phone I can use?"
"All our rooms have telephones, too. Only $50 a night."
"I don't need a room. I need a phone." Noting the phone on the desk, she asks, "What about this one?"
"Oh, sorry, that's for employees only." Bringing up an 'Employees Only' sign, he shows it to her and dops it back onto the desk. "Yeah."
Out on the roadway, the large truck is rolling to a stop before its trailer expands once again.
Back at the motel, Vernal's about to accept the key before Roman chimes back in.
"Oh, since there's the two of you, that's called 'Double Occupancy'. That's another $10. Yeah." Her composure cracking at the blatant extortion, Vernal keeps her smile.
"Yeah, okay."
Vernal looks over at Roman and smirks.
"Pretty cutthroat business you're running there." Roman can only shrug.
"I guess it's been slow lately."
As she brings out the extra money, Roman chimes back in.
"And a matter of a small $20 security deposit."
"Of course. $20. Here you are."
"Yep. Really slow. Of course, I'm far from a motel/hotel expert. Luckily, we do have some experts with us." Looking toward Cinder's EAF, Roman asks, "Does business have to be that bad for such measures?"
"While I'd never stooped to such levels… I'd heard of such establishments that did so just to stay operational." Her two daughters nod in agreement while eying Jaune in his tan camo outfit.
Roman hands her the key after receiving the money.
"Have a nice stay."
"Right." Giving her a smarmy smile, Roman watches as the two exit the office.
The view changes to the inside of a motel room as GR44 walks by a window before Vernal opens the door. Spotting the television, she lightly smiles.
"Great. Maybe there's already something on the news." Turning the television on, she soon sees a commercial and starts changing channels as GR44 enters the room and crossing to the A/C. He then turns on the A/C before undoing his outfit.
"Ruby! Cover your eyes!" Before Yang can move to cover Ruby's eyes, however, she zooms away. "Ruby! You're not ready to see naked men yet!"
Vernal, however, goes to the bed and picks up the telephone before plopping herself down onto the bed. Only to find out it's a waterbed.
Back at the truck, GR13 is outside, DE in hand before walking toward the front of the truck as the other UniSols exit behind him as Watts' voice is heard.
"Commence UniSol deployment. B and C teams, take supporting positions. GR13, seek and destroy local communication lines in target area."
GR13 quickly spots a telephone pole and aims the DE before pulling the trigger. The telephone lines don't stand a chance.
Back in the room, Vernal hears the phone go dead as the television drones on and the view goes to GR44's white socks and the back of his bare legs before going up to his bare buttocks. And up even more to where the bullet had entered his upper back.
"Won Praise for the speedy and precise handling of the terrorist situation. In a related story, only hours after the rescue at Hoover Dam, news reporters become news makers. Reporting live from the scene, Lisa Lavender." The name quickly gets Vernal's attention before Lisa speaks.
"In a surprising development, VMA cameraman Shay Mann was shot and killed in a motel room in neighboring Eagle Rock City. Witnesses allege that Vernal Branwen, a VMA correspondent, shot him after an apparent argument. Cocaine and other narcotics were found at the scene." Vernal can't help but shake her head in disbelief at the extensive audacity before hanging up the phone.
"No way." Getting up from the bed, she strides out of the room, getting 44's attention. "No… way! I don't believe this! They are not going to get away with this, man. I mean, this is crazy." 44 starts exiting the room, not caring he's nude.
"You must return to your room." His exit is quickly noticed by Roman before he speaks.
"Neo, come here." Neo's eyes open at that as the view goes back to Vernal as she rants. Not noticing 44 coming up behind her.
"There has got to be a phone that works in this Oum-forsaken place!"
"This area is not secure."
The girls and young women, except Penny, all develop heavy nosebleeds. The boys and men, Jaune included, can only feel bashful. Pyrrha's, however, is enough to get her to faint. With a gleeful smile on her face. Along with plans to up the intensity of his training. 'Racer' can only sigh and facepalm before snapping his fingers.
"I know. You like what you saw."
"You know, why don't…" Vernal sharply turns around before seeing 44's bare front. "What are you doing?"
"It's not safe for you out here." As 44 lightly sways, Vernal is in disbelief.
"Where are your clothes?"
"I have to…" 44 blinks slightly before speaking again. "I have to cool down." With that, he collapses to the ground. Vernal, not seeing the gawkers in the office, gingerly steps to his side before going to her knees. Light beeping emanating from his thermal monitor as she feels his forehead.
"Oum… you're burning up." 44 pops the thermal monitor's cover and sees the red light flashing rapidly again before he closes the cover.
"I… I… I need i… ice."
"Okay." Putting her hand on the back of his right shoulder, she adds, "Okay."
Inside the office, Roman looks toward Neo and sees her smiling perversely.
"Shame on you." Neo looks back at him unabashedly, getting him to scoff before she returns her attention to the nude spectacle.
As the five UniSols make their way to the motel on foot, Watts' voice is audible.
"GR13, continue advance. Target center of structure."
Back at the motel, Vernal's raiding an ice holder on yet another trip for ice. Roman noticing as she hefts out three bags before going back to Room 4. Passing by a cream beige/white 1956 Buick Special Riviera sedan.
"What the devil is she doing with all that ice? Maybe I should call the Police."
Roman can only roll his eyes.
"I know I wouldn't."
After stepping into the room, Vernal kicks the door closed.
"I've heard of cold showers before, but this is ridiculous." Going into the bathroom, she sees GR44 is still not moving in the tub. His eyes closed. "How are you doing? I got all the ice that I… I could. You okay?" 44 slightly opens his eyes before she asks, "How's your…" Her query trails off as she sees the cauterized flesh melt back into a mildly undamaged state. "Your wound…"
Feeling unnerved, she edges away before speaking again.
"It's healing. I'm… I'm, uh, gonna make that phone call, and, uh, I'll, uh, call a Doctor, or something." 44 goes back into unconsciousness as she exits the bathroom.
GR13 comes back into view as Watts' voice is heard again as 13 signals the other UniSols.
"Heat and infrared check. Munitions and firearms identifier powered and working."
Storming into the office, Vernal sees Roman move to stop her movement toward the phone.
"Don't even start with me, all right?!" Lift the receiver up, she sees its dial is locked. "Take this lock off! Hell, I'll take it off!" Slamming the receiver onto the lock, she successfully breaks the lock.
"Hey, lady, what are you doing with the phone?!" 13 comes into view as Roman goes on. "You know how much these things cost me?!"
"Shut up."
"You've got some nerve!"
"Will you shut up?" Listening for the dial tone and not hearing it, she goes on. "This one doesn't work either." Roman can't help but be in disbelief.
"Huh?" As Vernal puts the receiver back down, Roman goes to the phone, griping. "Women just don't know how to use phones."
Feeling ire-filled gazes aimed at him, Roman gulps before looking to Neo and sees her glaring at him in a mix of anger/pity. Anger for his other's comment. Pity for he's the only Roman in striking distance.
"You killed it!" Vernal looks out the window before exiting while Roman adds, "Hey, this is coming out of your security deposit." GR13 sees her exiting the office and starts aiming his DE at her.
In the trailer, Neptune makes his report.
"GR13 has a lock in the girl. What do you want me to do?"
Hazel leans toward the console before speaking.
"Have him wait till they're together." Back outside, 13 hears Neptune's voice.
"GR13, hold your fire and maintain surveillance." Crisply, 13 brings his DE back upright.
A puzzled Vernal walks around the motel's parking lot while, back inside the room, 44 has his vest back on, forgoing his long-sleeved shirt as the television goes on.
"I can't control it anymore. It's got a mind of its own!" 44 then sits on the waterbed before feeling it move beneath him. As he feels the motion, the television goes on before he starts putting his boots on.
"Now back to Nixon and the War Years, Part 7." As he secures his boots, 44 notes the television's imagery. From Vietnamese POWs being led by cloth around their necks to Richard Nixon.
"We will keep America the strongest nation in the world and we will couple that strength with firm diplomacy. No apologies, no regrets." The view goes back to 44 before Nixon speaks more.
"Uh, there was no question about that because, as you know, when I resigned, uh later, President Ford issued a pardon." 44 notices the mirror and his reflection as Nixon goes on.
"When I accepted the pardon, in that I made it very clear that I regretted what had happened." As the television goes on, Vernal reenters the room. "It was, in effect, an apology for what had happened."
Back in the trailer, Hazel speaks again.
"I want that place completely surrounded." Neptune then speaks again. As he speaks, the view goes back to 13.
"GR86 and 61, take positions at the rear of the motel." The view goes to the designated UniSols doing so before it goes back to the television. Imagery of a wounded soldier being tended by a comrade is seen before Vernal comes into view and she makes a query to 44.
"How are you, um, how are you feeling?"
"The war is over." Vernal can only muse thoughtfully at 44's words.
"Maybe not."
The view goes back to outside as marching is heard, along with Watts' voice.
"Full focused visual, powering alternate scanning devices. Motion detectors locked in."
The three UniSols out front all take aim, 13 at the far left before the view goes back into the room. Vernal holding an unlit cigarette.
"Something really weird is going on around here. None of the phones in this motel work. There hasn't been a storm." As she speaks, 44 moves his head before lunging upward and bringing her down to the floor. "Aah!" He's barely in time as gunfire erupts into the room from outside.
Outside the room, the UniSols intently maintain their suppressive fire, intent on getting the point across that it's no use hiding. GR74 firing his 12-gauge Armsel Striker shotgun and 55 and 13 with their 7.62x51mm M60s.
Back inside, the television is destroyed by the barrage, along with the windows before 44 notes the nearby wall. Getting up, he lunges toward it and hurls himself into the next room. Vernal can only be shocked, as can the occupants of the next room.
Marcus' face takes on a wide, smug smile as he looks toward Mercury and Emerald.
"So, boy… how soon can I expect grandchildren?"
"Dad! We're not like that at all!" Emerald nods fervently in rare agreement with Mercury as he goes on. "How many frickin' times I gotta frickin' say it?!"
"You can try denying until the Grimm all go extinct, but the screen says otherwise." Mercury can only facepalm at Marcus' sing-song tone while Emerald goes beet red and an amused Cinder smirks before chiming in as well.
"I call Godmother!" Even Salem chimes in.
"Drat! I missed my chance! I guess I'll have to settle for Great-Great-Great Grandma and Ozpin Great-Great-Great Grandpa." Emerald's blush goes even redder as Rhodes and Cinder's EAF all have a laugh and Salem titters. Ozpin, however, facepalms while chuckling.
As Emerald covers herself, Mercury looks down toward the crasher on the floor as 44 looks up toward them.
In the trailer, Flynt's tracking 44's movements.
"Okay, we got them. They're in the second room." Outside, the firing UniSols change positions while firing. Inside the rooms, Vernal's still beside herself in disbelief and 44 addresses the couple.
"You better duck and cover." His point is accentuated by more gunfire that breaks their window, getting them to duck under their duvet as he looks back to Vernal. "Follow me!"
"What the Hell is going on here?!"
As she screams, she crawls along the floor just as 44 gets back up onto his feet for another wall-ram. Once he's rammed through, he looks up as 13 keeps firing his M60. The other UniSols maintain their fire as Vernal crawls into the next room, passing by the couple. 44 then gets back up onto his feet and runs for another wall-ram. Upon ramming through this wall, however, he's greeted by cinder blocks.
Back in the trailer, Flynt has a wide smile on his face before speaking. As he speaks, the view changes to Hazel, Watts and Neptune.
"The last wall is solid concrete. He's not going anywhere." The view goes back to him before he rises from his station and looks to them while stepping toward them. "I think we got him trapped."
In the freshly rammed room, a still-crawling Vernal goes to 44's side before looking at him.
"Well, go ahead. Knock it down!" 44 looks aside at her, getting her to ask, "What?!"
He then looks back away and slightly down, as if telling her, 'I may be capable of ramming through walls, but concrete ones? Nope!'
Ruby gives a nervous chuckle as Weiss facepalms.
"Of course he has limits." Sighing, she adds, "At least he knows them."
Back outside, 13 opens fire again before the view goes back inside as 44 forces Vernal's head back down while speaking.
"Get down."
As bullets impact the wall, the UniSols taper off their gunfire before Flynt's voice is heard again.
"Soldiers, move in." GR55 moves through the wreckage, his laser-equipped 9mm H&K MP5 easily seen by Emerald and Mercury as they watch in disbelief. 13 and 74, however, burst into the room that 44'd been tracked to. Only for 44 and Vernal not to be in there.
"Where the Hell is he?"
Back in the trailer, Neptune grimaces.
"I think we lost him." Hazel finds himself getting irritated before noticing Flynt.
"Get back to your station and get me some tracking, for Oum's sake!" Puzzled, Flynt goes back to his station before the view goes back to Emerald and Mercury's room.
Emerald and Mercury both go even redder when they realize just where 44 and Vernal had gone. Their blushes intensify as their realization is confirmed. Marcus can only smugly chortle before Mercury turns back to him.
"I really don't think they'd be interested, Dad."
The muzzle of the DE is slowly placed against the underside of Mercury's chin as a frightened Emerald does what she can to stay quiet before 44 quietly speaks.
"You have a car?"
"Uh-huh."
"Give me the keys." Vernal's voice is then quietly heard.
"Tell him to hurry." 44 does so.
"Hurry." Vernal's voice is heard again as Mercury hands over the keys.
"Got them?" Once 44's gotten the keys, he speaks again.
"Thank you." With that, he moves the muzzle away from the underside of Mercury's chin before he and Vernal both come out from under the duvet. As 44 moves to exit, Vernal speaks again.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I am so, so sorry." Exiting, she goes on. "Believe me, I had nothing to do with this. Really. I had no idea."
"See, Dad? Nothing like that was going on. So get your mind out of the gutter." Marcus just smirks, getting Mercury to facepalm and Emerald to go even redder as Mercury asks, "You're never gonna drop this idea, are you?"
"Nope!"
44 then grabs her, pulling her away from the hole before the view goes back to the cream beige/white sedan as it starts and backs away. Back in the trailer, Flynt notes the movement on his monitor.
"They're leaving the motel." Flynt's report gets the perfect response from Hazel.
"Damn it!"
The scene goes back to the car as it peels away from the motel as 13 and 74 come out and open fire onto it. Vernal shrieks and ducks down to avoid getting hit. As 44 drives the car, he drives it right into the motel's office. Neo can only gape as the battered Buick rams through the office before exiting through the window on the other side.
"Hmm, that sounds like an interesting format for a business model. Single story drive-thru hotel/motel. No need for customers to exit their vehicles. They can just drive right in, register and get their room keys before going to their rooms. Maybe even have garage doors for the rooms so they can pull the cars on into the rooms. It'd be quite a concept." Roman's sarcasm gets Neo to silently giggle raucously while Cinder's EAF facepalm.
Vernal shrieks as the car's tires make contact with the pavement again, the car bouncing three times, before 44 speeds the car away. Leaving the UniSols to watch in silence, yet 13 is irritated as the car vanishes around the corner. 13 then points the muzzle of the M60 upward before the scene goes back to inside the trailer and Hazel speaks.
"Come on, Watts. I need you out here." He then storms away before Watts removes his headset and follows him. Neptune, however, turns to Flynt, a snide expression on his face.
"Way to go, Flynt." Flynt looks back at him and extends his right middle finger.
Flynt can't help but be aghast at his action.
Outside, the sun's starting to rise, 55 and 74 both standing sentry outside both the SUV and the command truck. Roman and Neo then come into view before she speaks.
"Twenty-dollar security deposit, huh?"
Neo's eyes go wide at what her voice sounds like before she signs.
*I sound so old!* Roman can only shrug at that.
"At least you have a voice, Neo." She can only roll her mismatched eyes.
Inside the room, Hazel examines the damaged walls before going into the bathroom and noting the tub filled with partially melted ice.
"Watts." Watts goes to his side and notes the tub before going to it and sitting on its side. Reaching his right hand down, he brings up a handful of ice before speaking.
"He's trying to cool himself." As Watts marvels, Hazel steps away, leaving the former to marvel at the find before letting the ice fall back down into the tub.
The scene then changes to a desert highway as the Buick comes into view, Vernal's voice following.
"Are you sure they're not following us?" 44 looks into the mirror before replying.
"No." Vernal can only sigh before looking forward again.
"You're such a comfort." 44 looks toward her and notes she's not wearing her seat belt before speaking again.
"Buckle up." Vernal exhales forcefully before replying.
"I'm fine."
"It's for your safety." She can only be beside herself in disbelief.
"How can you be so damn calm? I mean, your buddies back there just shot enough ammo at us to destroy Eastern Europe and you're sitting here, bitching at me about a damn seat belt?!" 44 doesn't reply, getting Vernal to comply. "Alright, alright, alright, here we go. Alright? I'm all buckled up." 44 doesn't reply, which suits her fine as she brings out a cigarette.
"Alright, look, Mr. Top Secret…" Her voice trails off before she lights her cigarette and inhales before resuming. "I want some answers, okay? I mean, first of all, you know, you push a car faster than my Adoptive Mother drives, okay? You use ice like other people use Band-Aids and… and then you just… run through walls. Now, I'm sorry, you know, but this is not normal human behavior."
Vernal can only snicker before shrugging.
"Normalcy's overrated."
"Just who the Hell are you?" 44 doesn't reply, he just drives, getting Vernal to go on. "Where are you from, anyway? Are you from France or Canada or… I mean, I figured you gotta be French because of your accent." 44 can't help but blink at that.
"What accent?"
The audience can't help but chortle at the bemused query.
Vernal blinks as well before going on.
"Alright, look… you got a family? You got friends? I mean, is there a Mrs. 44 waiting for you someplace? I mean… are you avoiding my questions or don't you know?" Next thing she knows, 44 gently brings the car to a stop before opening the door and exiting, going to the back of the car. Vernal following him out through her door and looking back at him. Concern on her face.
"What the Hell did they do to you?" 44's face comes back into view before he speaks again.
"I don't know." The scene goes to the road behind them, the Command Truck rolling along it, before the scene goes back to him and he speaks again. "But I'm going to find out."
"That sounds ominous." Weiss' words get nods from most and a scoff from Jacques.
The scene goes to a desert garage before a lone man snoring under the newspaper can be seen. The Buick then enters the scene and rolls to a stop. The man comes out of his slumber and moves the newspaper away.
Ruby's eyes go wide in glee at who it is.
"Uncle Qrow!" Qrow can't help but blink as Winter and Ironwood both look back and forth before shrugging.
As 44 and Vernal exit the car, lit cigarette in hand, Qrow gets to his feet before calling out.
"Hey, lady! No smoking around the pumps!"
"Oh.. I'm sorry… Hey!" 44 takes her arm and tugs her along. "Would you quit pulling my arm?! It hurts!" 44 tosses a gaping Qrow the keys. Only for them to fall to the ground as Qrow didn't catch them.
"Park the car." Vernal can only be confused, as can Qrow, before Vernal speaks again.
"Park the…"
"Let's go." With that, they walk away as Qrow picks the keys up from the ground.
"Park the car?" 44 and Vernal, however, walk on as 44 speaks.
"I need some help."
"Need some help?" Vernal notes their destination before saying, "Hey, come on, man. I can't…" 44 opens the restroom's door.
"Get in."
"Hey, come on!" 44 shoves her into the restroom and goes in after her, closing the door.
Inside the restroom, which is also doubling as storage, 44 starts undoing his clothing, flustering Vernal to no end before she turns away from him.
"Oh, come on, man. Not this again, huh?" Outside the restroom, Qrow hears Vernal's voice. "Is this necessary? At least leave your pants on this time." Back inside, 44's naked and Vernal slowly turns back toward him. "Oh great. Just great."
"Mmm, it is." Vernal's nose starts bleeding again, Pyrrha's following suit, before the former turns to her. "How long before the Jaune here looks that yummy?" Jaune blinks at the query as Pyrrha considers it.
"At this rate, a year. If I up the intensity of the training, six months." Vernal grins widely at that.
"Up it." Jaune gulps as Pyrrha nods, devilish grin on her face.
"There must be a tracking device on me."
"Well, what do you want me to do about it?"
"Look for something unusual." Taking her right hand into his left, he turns around, adding, "Something hard." Flustered even more at the feeling of bare male flesh, Vernal quietly gulps.
"Alright." She then starts patting him along his torso before the scene goes back to Qrow that's still listening before back to inside the restroom. Vernal starts smiling uneasily before speaking. "Ahem. You stay in shape, don't you?" The scene goes back to Qrow before he speaks.
"What are you doing in there?!" It goes back to inside the restroom before Vernal speaks.
"Nothing." Back to Qrow before he goes on.
"What do you mean, park your car?" 44 and Vernal both come back into view before the latter speaks again.
"What? You never heard of valet parking?" Back to Qrow before he speaks again while walking away from the restroom.
"Valet. Do I look like a valet?" Back inside, 44 and Vernal hear Qrow speaking again. "What does this look like? Beverly Hills?" 44, however, is looking downward before he speaks, looking back upward as he does so.
"Is that supposed to be there?"
"So… on top of suppressing memories, they strip away knowledge of biology?"
"The only knowledge of biology the UniSols are to have, in the eyes of the project, General, is the quickest ways for a target to die." Ironwood grits his teeth at the reply from 'Racer'.
"Yes. Y… Yeah, it is." Vernal's starting to feel heated before she goes on. "It's, uh, very… very normal." 44 ponders it before speaking again.
"Keep going."
"Right. Ahem." With that, she resumes before the scene goes to the truck rolling along the desert highway. The inside of the trailer comes into view as Hazel speaks.
"Update information on computer scanning systems." The scene moves over to Flynt and Neptune as the former speaks.
"They've stopped ahead in front of a single-story structure."
The view goes back to Vernal looking upward toward the back of 44's right thigh.
"I think I found something… right here on the back of your leg." 44's face comes into view before he bends over, his face meeting her view before he reaches down and brings out his tanto-bladed knife.
"Cut it out." Vernal can only parrot him in query.
"Cut it out? Wait a minute. I… I can't cut it out. I'm not gonna cut you."
44 just goes back upright and, with a casual expression on his face, stabs into the back of his right thigh, startling Vernal before she turns her eyes away.
"Oh! Oh, Oum!" 44 moves the blade before Vernal looks back to it and turning away again. "Oh, shit! Shit!"
Back outside, an irritated Qrow is walking back toward his garage.
"You guys get out of there! I got a business to run!"
Back in the restroom, 44's face comes back into view before he speaks again.
"Take it."
"What?"
"Take it."
"Take it?" At her query, 44 goes on.
"We don't have much time." Vernal's face scrunches into revulsion at the implication.
"Oh… Oum, this is so gross!" Gingerly, a queasy Vernal reaches into the back of 44's right thigh and takes hold of the object she'd felt. Bringing it out, she notes it's a small black tube before asking, "You okay?"
"Yeah."
"Good. I got to lie down."
"It seems this version of you gets nauseous when it comes to blood, Vernal." Raven's comment gets Vernal to shrug.
"I guess not every version of me can handle it. Of course, we only saw two versions so far."
The scene goes back to the desert highway as the truck barrels along the road before screeching to a halt in front of the garage. Its trailer, once again, expanding while, inside, Flynt, Neptune and Watts go to their stations, Hazel in tow, before Hazel issues directives.
"I want a complete scan of the entire area." His aide goes to stand behind them as they work, Neptune opening up.
"Enabling infrared." Flynt's monitor shows the Buick before Flynt speaks.
"That's his car." Neptune chimes back in.
"Scanning for body heat."
"Got it." Flynt's reply gets Hazel to move down to Watts.
"Arms, pistol… fully-loaded." The monitor shows an image of the DE as he speaks again. "Desert Eagle, semi-automatic. That's him."
Outside, Hazel and the UniSols are making their way to the structure as Watts speaks.
"Motions and heat scan… follow tracking. Miking advanced pattern." Hazel speaks into his headset.
"Three teams. North, east, south. Converge on my command." Hazel pauses behind another parked car and draws his stainless 9mm Taurus PT-92 as Watts speaks again.
"Game advance... surround target. Teams east and south, prepare for break and ram." Aside from 13, the other UniSols position themselves outside the restroom while 13 pauses by the ice storage box before idly kicking ice cubes back and forth as Watts speaks again. "Prepare for break and ram. Full charge." The scene goes to 13's intent face before it goes to inside the trailer, Flynt's face appearing before he speaks.
"Okay, guys, move in." The scene goes back outside as Watts' voice sounds off again.
"Full charge!" The scene goes to inside the restroom before the door is kicked down and 86 and 61 barge in and open fire onto a cardboard cutout of a gas station worker. 44's DE taped to the cutout's right hand and a lit lantern attached to the cutout's crotch.
Inside the trailer, Flynt's horrified at the scenery on his monitor.
"No, no. He tricked us! Hold on!" During the onslaught of gunfire, the lit lantern falls to the ground and shatters as Flynt calls out. "Move out! All UniSols retreat immediately!" 86 and 61 both idly watch as the flame from the lantern speeds toward them and Flynt goes on. "Evacuate! Let's go!" Outside, his voice goes on. "Get out of there! Take cover!" 55 and Hazel both heed his words and take cover just as the flame reaches the garage's fuel pump.
KA-BOOM
Nora's eyes mist in sheer bliss as the explosion.
"Sheer art."
The explosion rocks the trailer before Neptune pipes up.
"What the Hell was that?!" As the garage detonates even more, Watts' eyes pick up the sight of UniSols aflame.
"Oh my Oum, they're on fire. Portable coolers. Portable coolers, quick!" Removing his headset and rising, he goes to where the coolers are kept, Flynt and Neptune following right behind before he hands them a cooler each and follows them with one as well.
Outside, Hazel sees one of the aflame UniSols fall to the ground before yelling out.
"Get him out! Extinguishers! Watts! Flynt! Flynt, get over here! Get this guy!" Watts and Neptune appear quickly as the former calls out.
"Get him! Quick, quick, quick!" Hazel notices Watts and calls out.
"Over here, Watts! Get him down!"
The scene goes to the trunk of the Buick before it opens, revealing a plainly dressed 44 on bags of ice before he exits and goes to the next car over, its trunk already open, Vernal inside on bags of ice herself as Hazel keeps yelling.
"Bring them out, I said! Get those coolants ready! Get that truck operating!" 44 aids Vernal in exiting and the both of them run past another car as Hazel yells again. "Watts, get him over here!" The trunk then starts lifting upward, revealing a dazed Qrow, on bags of ice as well and wearing 44's vest.
Winter lightly smirks at what had possibly happened.
"It looks like you were rendered unconscious and put in the trunk of a car onto bags of ice."
"It would, yeah."
The scene goes to inside the trailer before 44 and Vernal both come into view.
"Hurry up!" Both move around the cooling chamber before Vernal pauses at one of the consoles, picks up a binder and looks back at the chamber. Stepping toward it, she can only say one thing.
"Whoa."
Back outside, a still-dazed Qrow is getting his bearings before he sees an aflame UniSol, Hazel alongside him, yelling out.
"Get over here! Get over here! Get GR74! Get him out! Put that coolant on!" Qrow's jaw drops at what he's seeing before the scene goes back to inside the trailer.
44 goes back to Vernal, binders in his hands and Vernal slightly lightens his load.
"Got it, got it, got it. Let's go." The two quickly make their way out of the trailer, loot in hands before the scene goes back to outside and Qrow as he hears Vernal's voice.
"Come on, hurry!"
"Huh?" Qrow looks and sees the two heading right in his direction. "Oh, here I go again. I'm out of here!" Ducking back down into the trunk he was in, he closes it, hoping to be far away from what's going on.
Vernal and 44, however, go back to the car they were in ever since the motel. As Vernal gets in, 44 closes the trunk before getting in as the scene goes back to Watts as one of the scientists calls out.
"We're going to lose these two, Colonel!"
"At $250 million apiece, we can't afford to lose any of them!" One of the burning UniSols is burning so badly, he can't be identified.
CRDL can't help but gulp, wondering which ones will perish.
Inside the car, 44 starts the car while speaking.
"Buckle up."
"I got the seat belt right here. Okay, go." As she buckles up, 44 backs the car away before putting it into 'drive'. The car's motion gets Watts' attention as it speeds away. Inside the car, as 44 wheels the car away, 13 springs up from the rear seat, garrote in hand before wrapping around 44's neck. Vernal looks and screams at seeing the psychotic UniSol strangling 44 from behind. She then starts smacking 13 with the binders, getting the car to careen out of control, Hazel and Watts watching intently.
As Vernal keeps smacking, the car still careens it leaves the road and meets with a large black/brown rock. As the car screeches to a stop, 13 flies out through the front windshield before falling to the ground, tumbling along it before coming to a stop. Vernal and 44 both look at the scene before the former speaks as 44 backs the car away from the rock.
"Oh, jeez. He should have buckled up."
Tyrian laughs in sheer irony before shaking his head.
"He's getting up!" Vernal's commentary is accompanied by the car meeting the roadway again before she adds, "Go, go, go, go." As 44 wheels the car away, he looks down at 13 as 13 starts to get back to his feet.
13 can only glare balefully at the Buick as it speeds away.
Back the truck, Hazel's looking over a printout his aide had handed him.
"Shit! They're pulling the plug." Slapping the printout against his aide, he goes on. "Pack it up. We're heading home." As the aide goes inside, he calls out. "Everybody, back into the truck! Come on, everybody!" He then notes Watts, ice cubes in hand. "Watts, what the Hell are you doing? Yes, it's ice! Get back in the truck! Pack it up!" The tone in Hazel's voice gets Watts the fling the ice cubes to the hot ground and scurry toward the truck. Following behind, Hazel notes 13 kneeling by one of the dead UniSols before yelling.
"Get back into the truck, GR13! The mission is canceled!" 13 rises upright before looking back to him. "GR13, I said it's over." 13's response, however, is not what he'd expected.
"My name is Sergeant Tyrian Callows." At the onset of memory recall, Hazel starts drawing his pistol. Only for Tyrian to be quicker in drawing and firing. The bullet flies right into Hazel's left eye, causing his brain matter to exit the back of his head.
"Brother…" Gretchen's voice gets Hazel to gently clasp her shoulder, getting her to look right at him and seeing a soft smile on his face.
"At least I lasted a little bit longer this time." Gretchen faintly smiles before hugging him tightly.
The scene goes to inside the trailer as the door slides open, revealing the mass cooling chamber and a still-cooling GR74 within being tended to by Neptune in a cold-suit. The scene then goes to a surgical suite, revealing GR55 on the operating table, a scrub-clad duo of Flynt and Watts working frantically to save him before the latter turns to the aide.
"Lieutenant, could you contact Colonel Rainart? We'd like to have him back in here. Thank you." Watts then looks and sees Tyrian, wearing Hazel's uniform blouse, before nudging Flynt and Tyrian speaks.
"You're wasting your time." He then casually plunks two ears onto the side table before speaking again. "He can't hear you." Watts and Flynt are both horrified before Flynt shouts out.
"Oum!"
The shout gets the Lieutenant's attention before Tyrian goes on.
"I've relieved Colonel Rainart of his Command." The Lieutenant puts the phone down before calling out.
"GR13, this mission has been canceled. I order you back to the cooling chamber. Now!" Tyrian looks incredulously at the aide before speaking.
"Orders? I'm giving the orders from now on. We have a mission to complete." Outside the mass-cooling chamber, a still-suited Neptune's reached the armory and primes a H&K P9 as the aide starts drawing his weapon. Only for Tyrian to fire and hit the aide right between the eyes before flinging his left fist into the cold-suit's helmet, destroying the glass faceplate and grabbing Neptune's face and twisting it, breaking Neptune's neck.
Flynt and Watts can't help but grimace at how fast it all was. As Neptune's corpse falls to the trailer's floor, Tyrian wipes some of the blood from his hand onto the blouse before looking toward Watts and Flynt.
"Any questions?" Arching his eyebrows upward, he waits for Watts to reply before he does.
"Uh-uh."
The scene changes to a small diner, the battered Buick parked out in front, before it goes to inside.
"Something to drink?"
Glynda's eyes go wide at her other's occupation before sighing.
'Don't think I could've handled seeing myself as a psychic again, anyway. It's a nice change of pace.'
"Uh, yeah. I'll just have coffee." Vernal's reply to Glynda gets her to nod before she looks to 44, wearing Qrow's work shirt still.
"Okay. You?" 44 looks up toward her and sees her nameplate.
"Glynda?" Glynda notes the name patch and smirks.
"Yes, Qrow?" 44's beleaguered before Vernal snaps the fingers on her left hand, getting his attention.
"Hey. You want something to drink?" At his nod, she goes on. "Okay." Looking back to Glynda, she adds, "He'll have a soda pop." Glynda has an uneasy smile on her face at the reply.
"Great."
Back in the trailer, Flynt and Watts are still working on 55 before the latter quietly speaks.
"He's not going to make it!" Watts glares sharply at him before quietly yelling.
"Shut up! He'll hear you!"
"Doctor…"
"If he thinks we've failed, he's going to kill us both. You just keep working. If he asks anything, just stall him." With that, the two of them go back to work, only for Flynt to look back and see Tyrian with a large syringe.
"What's he doing?" Watts looks up as well and sees Tyrian sliding the syringe's needle into his chest before answering.
"Overloading on muscle enhancers. He's making himself stronger." Watts redirects his attention to 55 before Flynt grumbles out.
"Oh, great. That's just what we need."
Back in the diner, Vernal's leafing through the binder, a puzzled expression on her face before she speaks while picking her cigarette out from the tray.
"You know, I feel like I'm back in high school again. I can't make heads or tails out of any of this stuff. But, apparently, whatever they've done to you, it's been done on a genetic level." 44, however, picks up her cigarette pack and reads one of its sides.
"'The Surgeon General has warned that cigarettes could be hazardous to your health'."
"Yeah, well, don't believe everything you read." 44, eying the lit cigarette, plucks it from her fingers, getting her to respond. "Hey!" 44 then demolishes the pack as she goes on. "Hey, hey! That is my last pack!"
Vernal and Raven both chortle at his over-protectiveness before sighing. Vernal chiming in.
"That's one way to stop smoking. Cold turkey at the hands of a UniSol."
Glynda comes back.
"Are you ready to order?"
"Uh…yeah. Just… just bring us two specials." Glynda nods and steps away before Vernal goes on. "Now look, they constantly refer to a Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck. Do you recognize that name?"
Oobleck's eyes blink behind his glasses before mentally musing.
'While not part of my studies, I did wonder about how we'd evolved as a whole.'
At his blank expression, she asks, "No?" He can only reply with a headshake of negation. "Nothing." Looking back down, she adds, "I think I saw the number in here somewhere."
"Do you think he can help me?" 44's query gets her to look back up at him.
"Well, it's definitely worth a shot." His eyes don't leave her, getting her attention. "What?"
"Why are you doing all this for me?" Vernal can't help but be blunt with her answer.
"I'm not. Alright? I'm not doing all this for you. I'm doing it for me. I mean, you may not realize this yet, but you are one Hell of a story." As 44 mulls it over, she goes on. "I wouldn't worry, though. When the truth comes out, they'll probably make you a hero. Ah." Her eyes go intent before she goes on. "Here we go. B.O. Bartholomew Oobleck." Extracting the page, she looks up at him.
"I'm going to go check this out. You stay here and wait for the specials, okay?" She then stands up just as Glynda arrives with the food and asks, "Do you have a phone?"
"Out there." Glynda's dry reply is followed by her putting two plates down onto the table. One in front of 44. "Here's your special." Puzzled after she walks away, 44 looks to the plates before looking around.
Ironwood can only blink before Winter takes it.
"I take it the chemicals had something to do with lack of knowledge of eating and appetite suppression as well."
"Correct, Specialist Schnee." Winter grits her teeth before speaking again.
"If anyone from that ill-conceived program is still alive, I'd gladly run my rapier through them. Or at least those that caused such a horridly calamitous development in the UniSols." Qrow gives a soft chuckle, getting her attention. "Something funny, drunk?"
"Nah, just you being almost like an avenging Mother hen." Winter blushes while rolling her eyes and softly chuckling. Willow notes her eldest's demeanor and leans toward her.
"How long have you been attracted to him?" Winter's eyes go wide in shock and Jacques erupts in anger.
"I will not tolerate a low-brow cretin of a nobody that intends to court either of my daughters!" Winter gazes over at Jacques before a mischievous idea enters her mind. Rising from her seat, she goes to in front of Qrow and straddles him, relishing the sight of Jacques' eyes bulging. "Winter?!"
Paying him no mind, Winter leans forward and whispers into Qrow's left ear.
"Play along, drunk." Before Qrow can even ask, Winter smashes her lips against his. His eyes go wide before they close and his arms wrap around her. All the while, Jacques gapes and Weiss blushes beet red. The two end their kiss, their own faces red before noticing 'Racer' had paused the movie.
"Not too bad, you two. But… yeah." The two can tell 'Racer' is red behind his visor before Winter rises from her impromptu seat and goes back to her seat, her eyes going back to Qrow before her left eye winks, getting a silly grin from Qrow before 'Racer' resumes.
As he looks around, he notes an elderly gentleman eating. Mimicking what the gentleman does, 44 cuts into the steak before putting it into his mouth and chewing. As he chews, a blissful expression crosses his face. Maintaining his observation, he proceeds to eat even more, ensuring to pace himself.
"Smart man. After all,… after who knows how many years of being dead and not eating… really not a good idea to rush it." Neo nods in agreement at Roman's words. Adam nods as well, sympathizing with 44.
In the command trailer, Tyrian examines his new ear necklace, the sound of the thermal monitor beeping audibly, which gets Watts to uneasily step toward him. Flynt in the background.
"Sergeant Callows…" As Tyrian turns his way, Watts goes on. "Could I have a word with you?" Holding up the ear necklace, smile on his face, Tyrian gives his reply.
"I'm all ears." He then proceeds to put it on as a still-uneasy Watts watches.
Yang's eyes flash red before she looks at the crazed scorpion.
"Jokes and puns are my gigs! Stick to being a psycho!" Tyrian chortles before shrugging.
"No promises."
"Your thermal monitor. It's registering hot." Thoughtful expression on his face, Tyrian opens the cover and sees it blinking rapidly before closing it back.
"Uh-oh. Nap time." Rising, M60 in hand, Tyrian makes his way to inside the mass cooling chamber. Watts goes to the side and removes his gloves, Flynt coming up behind him.
"Are you nuts? Why'd you tell him that?" Looking aside at him, Watts gives his reply.
"Quadruple his serum." Flynt's eyes go wide at that before he goes to Watts' other side.
"What?"
"I'm going inside. When he sits down, I'll give you a signal. You increase the pressure and I'll engage the injection device on the arm of his chair."
"A sound idea, but something tells me it won't work out too well." Ironwood's words get nods from most except Watts.
'Nonsense! It's foolproof!'
Watching as Tyrian sits down, Watts makes to move to the cold-suit storage before Flynt stops him.
"No, no, no. It'll look better if I go."
After the door slides open, a cold-suit clad Flynt enters the chamber and nervously, yet confidently, makes his way to Tyrian's seat. Seeing the insane UniSol has his eyes closed, Flynt starts getting more confident it'll work, his nervousness slightly abating.
Outside, Watts prepares his side of things and gives a nod as Flynt draws nearer to the seat. Flynt edges close, his hand reaching to the seat's control module when Tyrian's hand grabs his wrist, his eyes opening.
"Holy crap! I'm dead meat!"
"Is there a problem, Medic?" Flynt feels his nervousness flaring back up as he gives his reply.
"No, I'm just… checking the injection device."
"Was it broken?"
"It's making strange noises. I just wanted to make an adjustment."
"Well, there's only one way to find out." Flinging Flynt into the next seat over while rising, Tyrian goes on while removing the cold-suit's helmet. "Let's see if it still works."
"Aaah! Dr. Watts! Oh!"
"Stop it! Stop it!" Watts can only watch in horror as Tyrian goes on.
"Are you ready? It's memory clearance time." Tyrian reaches down for the controls as Watts yells out.
"Stop it! You're going to kill him!"
"Dr. Watts! Dr. Watts!" Tyrian presses the button as Watts yells even more.
"Let him go!" The injector rises into position as a terrified Flynt cries out.
"No! No! No!"
"Stop it!" As Watts yells, Tyrian presses the inject button and the injector goes into the back of Flynt's head. Only for Tyrian to push down, causing the injector to come out on the left side of a now-deceased Flynt's face.
Tyrian looks down at his latest kill and wipes his nose before looking back toward a horrified and devastated Watts.
Back at the diner, Vernal's using the payphone to call the number on the paper. The first number she calls results in a tone she's familiar with.
"Shit, a fax." She then looks skyward before the scene goes back to 44 as he drinks a Pepsi. Plates emptied of food in front of him.
"Good gravy! He must've been really, really hungry to do that kind of damage!" Roman's words are filled with awe as Adam nods in agreement before chiming in.
"With that kind of appetite, he could compete in eating competitions."
As he eats, the other customers are eying him uncertainly as they'd never seen anyone with such a large appetite. Glynda emerges from the kitchen, three more plates in hand before putting them down in front of him. He resumes eating before she speaks.
"Do you have enough money to pay for all this?" 44 looks blankly up at her before she goes on. "You know… money, cash, dollars, dinero." 44 simply forks up and eats even more, irritating Glynda before she yells. "Pete!"
Professor Port's eyes bolt open behind his bushy eyebrows before he moans.
"This… will not end well for other me." Having seen what 44 can do, he's not that confident his other will win in a fight if it came down to it.
"Yeah?"
"We got ourselves a deadbeat out here." Pete comes out of the kitchen, apron on and wiping his hands, before he speaks again.
"What?" Glynda leans down toward 44, slight sneer on her face, before speaking again.
"He can't pay." Pete goes to her side and glares right at 44.
"Hey, punk. I've been slaving all day making that slop." 44 swallows before replying.
"The food is good." Pete has a proud, yet angered, expression on his face at that.
"Fuckin' A, it is."
"Good heavens! I don't think I could ever be uncouth!"
Pete then reaches down, grabs 44 by the shirt and hefts him up.
"The question is… How are you going to pay for it?" As Pete releases the shirt, 44 has an uncertain expression on his face before replying.
"I don't know." Pete huffs in disbelief at that.
"You don't know. Ain't that cute?" He and Glynda share a chuckle before he goes on. "I'm going to bust your head, punk."
"I don't want to hurt you." Pete and Glynda both share a laugh at what 44 just said.
"Let it go! Let it go! It's not worth getting your butt whipped given what 44 is capable of doing! For Oum's sake, let it go!" Roman's yell gets nods of agreement.
"Me?! You don't want to hurt Pete?!" Glynda laughs in disbelief, with three other customers laughing, before Pete takes a swing. Only for 44 to dodge and quickly strike Pete and kick him, causing him to fall face-first into a table. 44 looks over a now-no-longer-amused Glynda and sees her smiling in fright before she edges away.
Three other customers at a billiard table eye him as he picks up and eats a sandwich. Another customer tries attacking him from behind, only to get an elbow and a foot to his face. Another customer notes the guy 44'd just downed before snarling out.
"Bitch." He then proceeds to attack 44, only for him to grab the guy's throat and slam him down onto the table he's at. It's not long before he notes them coming his way.
"I just want to eat."
Aside from Nadir, the male members of BRNZ and ABRN can only wince at what'd happened and is about to happen. Sun, however, winces at his other's poor performance and shakes his head piteously.
Back outside, Vernal finally has a stroke of luck.
"Operator."
"Yeah, Operator, a local number… prefix KL5, uh… Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck."
Back inside, 44 flings one of the men into a jukebox, shattering its glass and eyes a record rising to the play position while the gawkers comment.
"Damn!"
"Look at him!"
As the jukebox plays, one of the men grabs him.
"Hey, look!" Out the corner of his eye, 44 sees another man coming up behind him, chair raised up, and ducks down as the chair holder swings the chair down, hitting the holder instead of 44.
Once the holder's down, he knees the chair-holder in the torso and double punches him before high-kicking him in the chin. The kick sends him face-first and unconscious onto the billiard table, knocking several of the billiard balls into different pockets. He then eyes a bowl of popcorn and makes his way to it before starting to eat the popcorn as well. Just as he starts eating it, the man he'd slammed by the throat earlier yells out.
"You better put that down, you son of a bitch! I'm going to make you bleed!" 44 grabs the man by the throat just before the scene goes back to outside with Vernal.
"A Veteran's Hospital?"
Oobleck's right eyebrow arches at where his other had wound up before musing even more.
'There were a lot of veterans of the great war that were ultimately forgotten about.'
"Yes."
"Great. Operator, can you tell me exactly where that is?"
"1087 Clinton Avenue."
"Clinton. Wonderful. Thank you very much." At that, she hangs up the receiver and the large window at her side shatters due to a man being flung out onto the sidewalk.
"Unh! Oh!" Vernal's eyes go wide at the sight before she gets a sneaking suspicion.
"Geez…" Going to the broken window, she looks in and slightly bends down before looking inside. She sees customers gazing warily before seeing a seated 44 eating a bowl of popcorn. 'Called it!' Smiling semi-sweetly at him, she then asks, "How was lunch, huh?" 44 only gives her a smile before sighing.
Pausing the viewing again, 'Racer' stretches out.
"Okay, five-minute break. Any questions so far?"
"I'm interested in how proficient the UniSols were in the beginning. Was it programmed into their minds or…"?
"To answer your question, General, before they became UniSols, they were Special Forces. Trained in multiple disciplines of combat. Forward and standard rappelling, water ops, electrical/communications severing, ambush/attack… those skills were carried on within them at death and enhanced by the chemicals pumped into their bodies."
"Hmm… you spoke of another atrocity. WW2, I believe?"
"Yeah… one of the most grievous, heinous crimes perpetrated by humans against other humans. The Holocaust. All because they were judged to be unworthy of life because they were Jewish, Polish or feeble-minded..." For an instant, they can hear 'Racer' has anger in his tone before he goes on.
"Of course, those that committed the crimes were either tried in a tribunal and sent to prison or the gallows, fled to avoid prosecution and prison or death or simply killed themselves to keep from being prosecuted, imprisoned or executed. The worst committers of the atrocity were members of the Nazi party of Germany. As a result, that nation had borne a stigma for decades. Even worse, there are people that denied The Holocaust happened. They're utterly foolish to do that."
