Chapter 3: Warehouse Part 2
'Note to self: Flying into my warehouse at full speed is not the best idea.'
Sitting on a couch with an ice pack on my aching head, I was doing my best to relax while chanting my mantra.
'Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald, Zelretch will go bald.'
If I said it enough times, it might turn into a curse and work.
Eventually I got up and went to wash up.
My iPhone said it would take upwards of two days before I reached the next world, so I was going to chill in my new home.
Remember when I said I commissioned an extra-large wizarding tent?
Well I got it.
My tent was grand sized on the outside, and mansion sized on the inside.
With four bedrooms and five bathrooms, it had rooms for all kinds of stuff.
My master bedroom had a giant walk in closet for all my…. Ok… for the little amount of clothes I had.
Despite my shopping spree in the last world, I did not actually buy a shit ton of clothing.
I didn't need or desire it.
I bought three pairs of enchanted robes that resize, clean themselves, and regulate temp.
I bought five pairs of enchanted briefs, socks, jeans, and t-shirts that resize, clean themselves, and regulate temp.
I bought two jackets and a sweater that do the same.
One cloak.
I got two pairs of military pants and tank tops with the same enchantments.
Two pairs of dragon hide boots and gloves.
And finally, I had a full body leather armor made from the basilisk hide. It looked like the Nightingale armor from Skyrim.
Aside from the armor and military pants, the rest was only slightly more durable than regular clothes, and they wouldn't do much to stop a knife or bullet.
The military pants were made more durable, like a mesh that could stop a knife, but not likely to stop a bullet.
But the armor… bullets would just be crushed on contact.
That's pure hide from a thousand year old Basilisk people, that's some strong shit.
Still, I wouldn't be wearing it often unless I was preparing for a real fight.
So all in all, I only had 3 pairs of shoes and less than 15 pairs of clothes.
It was a fashion freaks worst nightmare.
But good news is I don't ever need to buy new clothes and I can cast color changing charms. So… why do I need mountains of clothes?
Unless I get a wife, gtfo with that shit.
Moving on, I had a movie theater that uses an enchanted glass window that can have memories place in it. That's where I used the glass window I got from the room of requirements.
An entertainment room with games like pool and air hockey.
A very large workout room with weights, a dueling arena, a bunch of punching bags and targets, and a few gymnastics implements like P-bars, rings, and climbing ropes.
It was actually the room I put the most focus in, and my house elves had gone out into the muggle world to get stuff.
Of course, there was no electricity in here.
In the Harry Potter world, magic always seemed to interfere with electrical devices on contact, or when you brought them into a magically rich area.
The devices always had different issues; it really made no logical sense.
I decided to not fight it, and just wait until the next world, if it still happens, I will have to find a way to make it work. If it didn't happen, then I can just assume that the Harry Potter world was the one that didn't let magic and electricity mix.
Why? I have no idea. Collective consciousness of magic users or perhaps it was 'Mother Magic.' Whatever it was, I hope it doesn't become a real issue.
Anyway, the main room after entering the tent was a walk in area to change shoes and take off coats, and then you walked into a large lounge area full of chairs, couches, floor cushions, floor tables, and central fireplace.
If you curious about smoke, don't be, it's just magic.
It was a cats paradise, and I often turned into my tiger form just to lounge around in it.
I loved being a tiger.
My magical animal form still wasn't available to me sadly, but I was getting closer.
There were a few other rooms around, but I won't bore you with all the details, it was a big space and had everything I needed.
My house elves didn't have much work in here, but Sil and Bron fell in love with the entertainment room when they were bored.
Gol seemed to be more old school, he liked to carve silverware or furniture with a knife by the fire, without using magic.
Me and Sil shared a joy for cooking, and we often spoke of ideas we had.
I had quickly broken my elves out of the idea that me doing work was bad.
I just explained that if I enjoyed doing something, it wasn't work, and they accepted that logic and welcomed me.
My Large tent takes up a little less than half my warehouse space, and while I store many of the things I brought along in the expanded space of the tent, in the warehouse and supply rooms, I still organized the other half of the warehouse so I could easily be ready for new things from other worlds. There wasn't any electricity in here, so I threw up the everlasting floating candles around, lighting up the place in a gentle and fantasy like vibe.
The Harry Potter world was a great starting world.
As for my next world, well, it was none other than…. you guessed it from the title, Hunter X Hunter!
The world of adventure, beauty, variety, cultures, and horror in a perfect mix.
So much exists in this world, and I was actually excited for it.
My magic core pulsed along with my excitement, showing me my wands soul still lived on inside me.
Figurately of course, it was never actually alive or intelligent, it just gave off feelings occasionally.
"I wonder when I'll arrive."
The iPhone, not an iPad, didn't tell me anything other than the name of the next world.
It seems I have to wait till I'm closer till I can choose stuff.
So I spent the time productively by meditating and working out.
I still have hundreds of books to digest in my mind, my charms had a long way to go, and wards was still out of my reach.
I learned plenty of neat trick from all my reading.
Like how charms, when cast, only have colorful light effects because wizards imagine them so.
Magic works by imagination, and so if you think a spell is red, it comes out red.
Changing how you think about it isn't so simple.
You can tell yourself its blue, but deep down, you know its red, so the spell keeps staying red.
It actually took quite a bit of work in my mind through occlumency just to change a spells color.
Now, I can make the spells look like anything I want.
To the public eye, my 'spells', now look like bullets.
That's right. It's just an illusionary effect, but when the spell leaves my hand or finger, or mouth, because I can shoot spells from anywhere I really want as long as it's one at a time, I can make the spells change from looking like a ball of colorful light into looking like a bullet.
There is no solid effect on the target, but when I tried it out on someone before, they still fell over thinking they got shot.
It saves me a lot of effort in having to make a reason to explain my powers.
I can just make an illusion of a gun in my hand or move my hands fast to make it look like I was hiding a small gun in a sleeve or something.
I can even actually get a gun, and just pretend to be shooting it.
'Huh, interesting idea. What about using an empty gun, and shooting spells in the form of bullets?'
The idea just hit me, and if imagination plays a strong role, it could have a high effect.
Because my mind would treat the fact that I'm shooting a gun with the concept of the bullet being super-fast, so perhaps my spell being shot would move at the same speed.
'Something to look into in the next world since I don't have a gun at the moment.'
There were examples in the books I read of wizards and witches that made their spells take the form of animals like cats or dragons that could move like the real things.
It's a shame more magical people didn't focus on occlumency. I know not everyone has the talent for it, but with advanced applications of it, your imagination, and therefore your magic, can be pushed in incredible ways.
I would imagine Luna Lovegood would have had some very interesting creations.
Anyway, time flies when you're having fun, and before I knew it, the warehouse shook slightly in warning.
'It's time.'
I turned my iPad into the large TV screen mode and looked at what I had.
World Info popped up first.
{Second world reached!
World: Hunter X Hunter
Timeline: January 1st, 1999.
Time in world: 253 days.]
'253 days? The fuck? We count by days now? *sigh* let's see, that's about 8 months and ten days, making my last day Sep 10th. I guess I'll be 13 by the time I'm done. And wait… January 1st? Fuck me with these dates.
I'm 12 and four months old now, so my new birthday in this world will be… September 1st. I'm going to go around the whole zodiac scale at this rate.
Bah, who cares.
As for the year, I don't get a choice this time, but it looks like I'm entering for canon. Cool, I actually liked this worlds canon timeline.'
A second pop up came up.

'…oi…wtf is this? Since when do I have a currency?'
Immediately after reading, I pulled up the manual and read through its entry.
{Each world will have its own power system and style of allowing you to choose from its pool of abilities.}
'So Hunter X Hunter chooses the game and currency approach? Well fine, I can't expect everything to be as simple as the Harry Potter version.'
I looked down the list and made my choices easily enough.
Thankfully, I could click on each ability and get a simple description.
To start with, aura nodes are something everyone in Hunter X Hunter has, just like how everyone in Harry Potter has magic, even the muggles do, but they have no magic core, and therefore magic cannot gather inside them to make any real effect.
A study done by a few wizards actually theorized that in times of incredible emotional stress, muggles were able to pull on ambient magic to perform superhuman feats, such as a mother protecting their baby, or a warrior pushing past their limits and staying alive a little longer despite their wounds with sheer willpower.
Aura nodes was the most important thing, and until I added it to my 'cart' so to speak, the Nen abilities were all greyed out.
Next came the Sub and Category section.
Sub was all greyed out aside from the four basic principles, and only after I added it, did the rest light up.
The four basic principles were Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. (AN: I will explain more on them later, don't want to overwhelm everyone now.)
Ten ("Envelop"/"Shroud") is to shroud your body with your life force.
Zetsu ("Suppress"/"Null") is to pull in your aura, erasing your aura signature.
Ren ("Refine"/"Enhance") is the next step from Ten and is how you move into Hatsu.
Hatsu ("Release"/"Act") is one's personal expression of Nen. Hatsu is used to project one's aura to carry out a certain function, creating a special and unique paranormal ability that is colloquially referred to as a "Nen ability".
Without knowing the basic principles, you couldn't use any of the advanced forms.
Those forms were Gyo, In, En, Ko, Shu, Ken, and Ryu.
Gyo ("Focus") allows one to focus their life force to specific parts of their body to attack or defend, and when used on your eyes, it allows you to see Nen hidden by In.
In ("Conceal") is the advanced form of Zetsu, allowing one to hide their Nen to anyone not using Gyo.
En ("Circle") is the advanced form of Ten and Ren that allows one to expand their Ren into their surroundings. By using En, one can feel the shape and movement of anything within the area covered by their aura.
Shu ("Enfold") is an advanced form of Ten, allowing one to enshroud an object in their aura to strengthen, protect, and use the object like an extension on oneself.
Ko ("Temper") is a combination of Ten, Zetsu, Hatsu, Ren, and Gyo in which all of the user's aura is concentrated into one particular body part. Whereas Gyo moves only a portion of the users aura into a specific point, Ko moves ALL of the aura into a single point. It is a purely offensive move.
Ken ("Fortify") is the advanced version of the basic Ren and Ten techniques. It is a primarily defensive technique where a Nen user maintains a state of Ren for a prolonged amount of time.
Ryu ("Flow") is the term for use of Gyo from a state of Ken to perform real-time offensive and defensive value adjustments.
'Wow, lucky me. I can cross off a few of these guys thanks to my eyes.'
With my eagle vision to see Aura, I didn't need Gyo.
In, En and Shu had my attention.
In his aura right? Well I wonder if it hides magic as well. Magic was never visible to muggles since they didn't have a magic core, but I wonder if Nen users could see magic.
'Something I should make sure of.'
En created a sensory bubble around the user, almost exactly like Observation Haki from one piece, that didn't need my eyes to 'see'.
Shu allowed one to empower a weapon with their aura, increasing the sharpness and durability of the weapon. I think this matches well with my idea of making a magic bullet gun, as normal guns wouldn't have the durability to handle magic 'bullets'.
Both of those sounded ideal to me.
Ko wasn't all that tempting, it allowed you to put all your aura into a single point to attack but left you vulnerable everywhere else. Ko is essentially becoming a glass canon.
Ken is the process of becoming a tank.
And Ryu is for Nen based combat.
Honestly, I had no real interest in Nen based combat.
As long as I could defend from other Nen attacks, I would rather fall back on my magic to attack. That's not to say I dislike armed or unarmed combat, but I just have no experience in those areas.
My goblin combat training was all about surviving no matter what.
So my only real combat skills were with casting spells. And now that I can cast spells that look like bullets, and move like them, it's best to stick to my strong points.
If I happen to get an armed or unarmed combat skill in the future, I would be happy to take that path.
For now, my cart looked like this:
[Aura nodes – 200
Four basic principles – 50
Shu – 50
In – 50
En – 50 ]
Moving on, I had Categories.
Each Nen user is naturally one of 6 types, and their type is how their Hatsu ability will be manifested.
Which type a Nen user is, is determined through water divination.
You place a leaf in a glass of water, place your hands to each side of the cup, and focus your Ren, or just a large amount of aura, into your hands.
If the volume of the water changes, then the user is an Enhancer. Enhancement is the ability to use aura to increase the natural abilities of an object or one's own body.
If the taste of the water changes, then the user is a Transmuter. An affinity for Transmutation means a person can change the properties of their aura to mimic something else, or only specific attributes.
If impurities appear in the water, then the user is a Conjurer. In most cases, Conjuration is intended as the ability to create a physical, independent, material object out of one's aura; however, users of this category can also create laws and principles and affix them to a specific area.
If the color of the water changes, then the user is an Emitter. An affinity for Emission means that a user has an easier time separating their aura from their body.
If the leaf moves on the water's surface, then the user is a Manipulator. Abilities belonging to Manipulation allow the user to control living or non-living things, including aura constructs.
If a completely different change appears, then the user is a Specialist. Specialization could be broadly defined as anything that does not belong in any of the other five categories, making it the vaguest Nen type.
There's a lot to go through, but each category shapes your abilities.
And even if you are let's say an Enhancer, you could still use Nen from other categories.
The Nen 'Chart' looks like a hexagon. (AN: Google it, I can't post pics on this website.)
The Nen User Affinity Chart looks like this:
[Enhancers: 100% Enhancement – 80% Emission & Transmutation – 60% Conjuration & Manipulation – 0% Specialization.
Emitters: 100% Emission – 80% Enhancement & Manipulation – 60% Transmutation – 40% conjuration – 0% Specialization.
Transmuters: 100% Transmutation – 80% Enhancement & Conjuration – 60% Emission – 40% Manipulation – 0% Specialization.
Conjurers: 100% Conjuration – 80% Transmutation – 60% Enhancement & Manipulation – 40% Emission – 0% Specialization.
Manipulators: 100% Manipulation – 80% Emission – 60% Enhancement & Conjuration – 40% Transmutation – 0% Specialization.
Specialists: 100% Specialization – 80% Manipulation & Conjuration – 60% Emission & Transmutation – 40% Enhancement.]
It is advised for Nen users to stick to their strongest affinity, as their Hatsu will be strongest in that category, but many like to mix up their abilities.
And as you can see, Specialists have the highest advantage among all six categories. Specialists are also unique in that they can actually naturally create a Hatsu ability without any Nen training. But in such cases, they often have little control over their ability.
So it's not a surprise that I chose Specialist, leaving me with 400 points left to spend.
Then came talents!
And boy, does this world love its talents.
This is the world where a 9 year old could be a professional assassin without Nen.
This is the world where Gon spent almost all his childhood years swinging from tree's in a forest and making friends with violent animals.
This is the world of talent! Of natural born abilities that make people unique and stand tall among all the rest of the everyday humans!
With the opportunity to choose 4 talents, I was almost salivating.
It didn't take me much thought to choose wisely as well.
{Natural Perception Talent}, {Natural Nen Talent}, and {Natural Adaptability Talent} were a must in my opinion.
Perception is an incredible thing. It allows one to just look at someone else and sense if that person is a danger to them, or harmless.
It allows you to sense when gazes are directed at you.
It allows you to sense danger before it arrives. You could dodge a bullet if you could move fast enough after your perception screams "DANGER" right as someone is about to pull the trigger on you.
It can also allow you to pick up skills instinctually and feel what the right action or way to go would be for you.
Perception is an incredible, incredible, natural skill, and something very few truly have. Gon and Killua both have high levels of perception.
{Natural Nen Talent}. The description says it gives me a one in ten million talent, something that both Gon and Killua possessed.
{Natural Adaptability Talent} was something possessed by Gon. It allowed him to climb a tree over 1 mile in height, that's over 1700 meters, and adjust to the oxygen levels fast enough to barely feel a thing.
Increasing my adaptability will allow me to survive in harsh climates by having my body naturally adapt.
The increased Perception and Adaptability were universal, while the increase in Nen talent will help for this world.
There was no way I was skipping out on them.
With my last 100, I was honestly in a bind.
Tracking, assassination, medical and gourmet were all attractive to me.
One would made tracking second nature to me, the second would make me born to be an assassin, the third would make me a wiz at healing but I have healing charms, and the last would make me have a natural talent to be a gourmet hunter.
Other things like muscle memory and memory recall were not as useful to me as I already had occlumency and the ritual for my reflex's.
Oh and the sex talent troll was 100% ignored. Would someone really waste every other option just for that?
…*Cough* … *Collective Degenerate Community: YES!*…
"*Meow*."
I didn't know how long I was staring at the screen debating, but Shadow jumped in my lap and broke me out of my thoughts.
"Hm? What's up girl?"
My hands naturally came up to pet her fluff, and she purred against me before hitting the screen with her paw.
I blinked in surprise and then remembered that Kneazle's were intelligent creatures.
"You think I should take that one?"
"*Meow*."
"Are you sure?"
"*MEOW!*"
"Ok, ok, sheesh, no need to bring out the claws. What do you rest of you think?"
"I think you should choose what feels most natural to you master." (Gol)
"I think you already have a passion for one of them sir." (Sil)
"You should choose the most fun option!" (Bron)
I chuckled at their answers.
"Well, I guess your all right, this one it is."
My last pick was…
{Natural Gourmet Talent}
I would be a Gourmet Hunter in this world!
It sounded the most fun.
[Cart full. Confirm purchases?]
I rolled my eyes at the message.
'Now you're calling it a cart? You trying to troll me?'
Despite my thoughts, I still hit confirm, and right after, the room began shaking.
I shrunk the device back to iPhone size just as it shot out a light and formed a door of light.
'Well, second world here I come.'
"*Meow*."
Shadow jumped on my shoulder and I chuckled.
"You curious to see a new world Shadow?"
"*Puurr*."
'Yeah, she's excited.'
I didn't mind her, but I turned to my elves.
"Wait for my call before coming out, I want to make sure it's safe."
"Yes master."
"Yes sir."
"Aye sir!"
While wearing enchanted military pants, dragon hide boots, a t-shirt, and a black cat, I grandly stepped into the portal.
*EERRR* *Bang* *Meow!*
"Motherfucker!"
[Please choose destination.]
'I will prank you so fucking hard Zelretch. I'll make you go bald, shoot a hair growing charm at you, and then shave your head while sleep so you wake up and think it was all a dream that you got your hair back.'
Getting off the floor and appeasing my cat, I set my destination and walked into the portal without issue.
My new world journey was beginning.
[Destination: Zaban city.
Date: January 1st, 1999.
Confirmed.]
