Chapter 39 :
"Awesome, the chakra protected us once again" Chouji rejoiced as the explosion subsided and they were not burned like roasted pigs.
"Not quite" Shikamaru indicated the four crimson ray barriers in front of them that were previously behind them.
"Damn, did Naruto master this too?" Kiba asked.
"No, it wasn't just Naruto's chakra I'm feeling," Hinata explained.
"This chakra" Yoko internalized the sensation of what happened, it all happened too fast, but she felt it.
"What just happened Yoko-nee?" Natsume asked.
"The chakra Naruto had on everybody never went away, it was severely depleted but it was still there, he began strengthening this, with the help of Yondaime hokage-sama and his kyuubi, they used that so Misaki can transport everyone out of the barrier" Yoko was impressed at how well coordinated it was at such a small allowance of time, it's almost as if they lived every waking moment together.

Misaki was panting on her knees, she had just used up the last of her third reserve in order to transport everyone back out.
"Congratulations, you just saved the entire shinobi-kind" Tobirama commended, all three of them have accomplished so much even as teenagers.
"We should thank Naruto, it was his idea" Misaki tried to catch her breath.
"What did you do?" Jugo asked.
"Misaki just teleported everyone out of the barrier" Naruto simplified,
"Everyone, with that technique? How?" Sasuke wondered, looking towards Misaki who was pretty exhausted.
"Earlier I gave Kurama's chakra with everyone, so I asked pops to mold our chakra together so so that I can refill, so when I held on to Misaki we were um um um"
"Indirectly"
"That's right, using my and pop's chakra we indirectly connected Misaki to everybody else." Naruto continued to explain. Thankfully there was Tobirama who explained it in much further detail.
"Misaki, are you alright?" Minato helped his daughter up.
"I'm good, thanks to Kurama-san. I just need a moment" Misaki stood up, using Kurama's chakra once again to pry open her fourth chakra reserve,
"Let's go!" Naruto announced his attack, but Misaki followed nonetheless.
"Naruto, yelling is alright and all that, but don't tell me you've already forgotten that only natural energy affects him, are you an idiot?" Tobirama yelled at him as soon as they landed further into the enemy lines.
"That's right!" Naruto panicked, realizing his fatal mistake.
"You're a bigger idiot than my older brother"
"My chakra reserves only when I access the seals via sage mode, but whenever I'm covered in Kurama's cloak I am able to force it open. Naruto, concentrate on your chakra, what do you feel?" Misaki piped in, smiling at Naruto who listened to her and probably to Kurama too, he amassed natural energy way faster than he ever had.
Just as Naruto was finishing up, Minato jumped next to Misaki.
"Dad, I'll create an opening, you and Naruto just keep charging" Misaki kneeled on the ground as the two giant kurama charged towards Obito.
Obito say their attack coming and as quick to counter creating arms of chakra to hold the giant rasengan back, but golden gains burst forth the ground wrapping around his chakra, wrapping around him, incapacitating him, as a final resort he pierced the rasengan with his black matter.
It happened so fast, but Misaki didn't miss it.
His orbs were unable to break through from her chains.
"Man, those black orbs are pretty solid" Naruto groaned, gaining back his balance.
"Naruto, don't let up, keep attacking him" Misaki yelled after Naruto, she can feel Obito pulling at her chains. His pull was way stronger than that time Misaki had to subdue an eight tailed Kurama.
For their next attack, Minato and Naruto created a giant bijuu bomb, though they did not expect what Obito had in it for them next, for he released a giant….
Tree..
And so far it had proved to be his most deadly move, killing a number of the alliance in a simple single sweep. Misaki was able to get away pretty quick but in the distance she can see the blond hair of Naruto struggling to get away, until he was caught and stuck by the leg and the vegetation just kept going.
Unsheathing her sword, Misaki flashed to him , slicing at the branches that would rather choose him than her, as if they intrinsically knew that Naruto was the more satiating meal.
But one branch did not think that and latched on to her leg, and instantly Misaki felt it draining away her strength, so with the last of her strength, Misaki grabbed a hold of Naruto's collar and pitched him away from the tree trunk.
At the cost of replacing him.
"Misaki, MISAKI!" Naruto watched his twin disappear beneath the tree, but he was taken away by the third hokage.
"Gramps" Naruto recognized.
"Naruto!"
"Pops, Misaki, she's stuck, she could have gone away, but she, she-" Naruto struggled to form his words, but Minato knew what he meant, Misaki was absorbed by the tree.
Before any of them could formulate something, Sasuke had rushed past them, activating his susanoo and slicing at branch after branch until he found her, her red hair sticking out like a sore thumb, looking pale and sickly. This was the first time in a long time that he was this close to her, it's been so long since he last held her in his arms, she's alway been so small, but right now she almost felt like she would break if he held on to her any tighter.
Minato did not think twice and flashed to them then back again to safety as the tree had finally settled.
"Misaki" Naruto nearly snatched his sister from Sasuke as he laid her down, visions of their last encounter with Nagato filled his mind. He was shaking with fury, so much that if he had not been in control of Kurama, he was probably on his fourth tail.
"The shinobi are done for, there is no need to keep fighting, I will let you live if you don't ressit" Obito approached them, eyeing the redhead in Naruto's arms, it almost felt like he had killed Kushina twice.
As Obito continued on with his speech to match the greatly disheartening technique, more and more shinobi were considering surrendering, scared out of their wits against a foe of a different caliber that they could ever imagine.
"We must not approach carelessly!" The third hokage warned his companions, when a relic from the forgotten past arrived.
"Such words of cowardice, that is so unlike you, Sarutobi-sensei" Orochimaru arrived alongside Karin and Suigetsu.
"You're late, well the kages?"
"Well taken care of, so long as they don't chicken out they should be coming" Orochimaru replied to his ever so strict master.
"As sarcastic as ever I see."
Suigetsu greeted Juugo and Sasuke who acknowledged their arrival with their usual happy welcome greeting.
"Wow that tree looks much bigger up closer, I wonder how long it will take to cut down" Suigetsu marveled at the deadly towering chunk of wood.
"Who cares about that, what's important right now…. Is to go over to Sasuke and hug and lick him, damn it!"
"To heal the alliance right?" Suigetsu imposed, questioning her priorities. As they bickered, Orochimaru took his time to look over his traitorous former student.
Looks like he is in a bad mood. His eyes shifted to the group of people not much far from Juugo and Sasuke. There he theorized the probable cause of Sasuke's foul mood, there in Naruto's arms lay a silhouette of red, dull and motionless.
Naruto's tears fell from his eyes as he cradled Misaki's unconscious form, the smile on her face as she pushed him back and slowly got enveloped by the branches still etched on his mind.
Damn it! Naruto cursed, he only had himself to blame, he was letting everyone down, he was letting his father and their dreams down, he was letting Misaki down.
The situation was so dire, that even the words of the god of shinobi was not enough to help. Even more so when it was revealed to them that they are merely fertilizers for the tree that can easily take everything away from them.
The sounds of the tree's movement daunted at them like a grim reaper's mantra, as he waited for them at death's door...were lost on Misaki.

'It's dark, and wet, am I?' Misaki opened her eyes to find two Kurama staring down at her, confirming her speculations.
"Oh it's you, hi", Misaki stood up and looked up at Kurama.
"Took you long enough shrimp" Naruto's Kurama greeted
"Everyone is waiting for you," Minato's Kurama told her as she walked towards him, placing one hand each on their noses. .
I guess I should get going then, thank you Kurama" she placed her hands above her heart letting them know that their efforts were greatly appreciated.
Misaki was about to fade back to consciousness when a voice reverberated from the walls as the lights turned bright shade of red
"Misaki" the voice was enough to drive both Kurama on the edge, giving her an ample guess who the voice belonged to.
"You're late" Misaki smirked

Obito gloated in the fact that everyone was finally seeing the futility of this fight, the child of the prophecy on his knees crying over his probably dead sister who had also fallen victim of the tree's wrath.
Do you feel it now Naruto? The pain and the suffering to lose someone you love because of war Obito thought as he looked down on him.
What he did not see was Misaki reaching over, alive and well, wiping Naruto's tears.
"It isn't over '' and just as Misaki finished her words, a giant blinding humanoid made of orange fleshed out of nowhere slicing tree branches in its wake.
"UCHIHA ITACHI?!" to be surprised by the arrival of someone who is dead was not a surprise by this point during the war.
"He-he's not edo tensei- but he was supposed to be dead?!" But to witness the arrival of a live person who was declared dead by the world was the biggest surprise the alliance had seen during the course of the war.
A feeling that was shared by their enemies as well.
"You" Obito frowned, he saw him die, he implanted his sharingan on Sasuke, how is he still alive? Obito's mind raced.
"Not used to being the one caught off guard? I told you this isn't over yet" Misaki, back on her feet, gloated, pressing a reassuring hand on Naruto. The chakra Kurama used to awaken her, enveloping her, triggering her 4th chakra reserve open. Misaki formed hand signs in quick successions, before slamming her palm against the large boulder next to her. Two gigantic serpent-like dragons emerged forth, one whose body is made out of red hot dancing, the other of clear blue flowing water.
"Misaki, you never summoned our truest form before" Wani growled, leaning down to face Misaki, to top of her head barely reaching his nose.
"Sorry, but I'll have to borrow your strength once again," Misaki gestured to the deadly tree.
"AAHHHH, You mean I can go wild at this at full strength" Ryouto wasted no time pouring his flames on the first thing that attacked him, chasing him with sharp trunks.
"But our main priority is to keep as many people from getting caught by its branches; the tree drains chakra" Misaki exclaimed,
"I will make sure he does not forget the priority" Wani nodded, and kept the tree at bay with Ryouto.
Sasuke took hold of the momentum and followed their example, summoning his own susanoo.
"Naruto, are you done? Because I'm not" Sasuke continued on with their attacks, pushing back the tree as they quacked the earth.
Encouraged, Naruto releases Kurama once more, as he releases more chakra, the bond he had with the rest of the alliance grew stronger, his thoughts, his feelings, his heart traveled through Ino's mind technique.
His way, though continuously blocked by branches, cleared by Itachi's in his Susanoo.
Memories of a smiling Misaki, of their parents, of Sasuke and of friends and love ones long gone, of sadness, of pain and of what ifs,and he should haves gave the alliance an encouragement like no other, to do what they can do so that there will be no more what ifs and what should have beens.
"Go on, I've got your back" Misaki smiled, what bittersweet memories they were.
"I never want to think 'I should have!' I just can't make everything we've done upto this point meaningless!"
"Oi Sasuke, you realize that only sage works on him" as Naruto reminded.
"Don't compare me to you," As Sasuke and Juugo activated his cursed mark, covering Sasuke's susanoo in a familiar pattern.
Misaki focused, her adamantine chakra bursting from the grounds, creating a barrier between them and the rest of the battlefield.

Kazumi arrived with the kage, just as the first hokage has enlivened everybody with his memories of the past, raising morale even more.
"You, Itachi's friend, what's your name?" Tsunade called out to her.
"Moriya Kazumi"
"How familiar are you with my medical ninjutsu?" Tsunade asked.
"I've followed your work and tutelage my entire life" Kazumi bowed.
"She's sort of a huge fan of yours sensei" Kaede approached, Tsunade looked back at the brunette.
"Moriya Kazumi, if you can keep up with us, after this war, I will take you into my tutelage. Kaede, we're going"

Out of nowhere, Tsunade, Kaede and Kazumi appeared before them, Tsunade healing Shikamaru in an instant.
"Gaara" Ayako sighed in relief at the sight of the crimson haired Kazekage.
"It's getting rowdy again," Yoko remarked, Naruto and Hashirama's sincerity touching the allied forces' hearts, like a lifeline to a seemingly hopeless predicament.
"Well, we can't just stand here while they are getting all the action," Natsume encouraged, ss hopeless as their situation is, this is shinobi, no man kind's last stand.
"With all of us adept with 100 of healings, we can likely summon one tenth of Katsuyu's actual body here from Shikkotsu Woods, we'll mold Katsuyu into the Allied Force's Entire footing, into a healing area one can be restored just by standing on her, Ready?" Tsunade ordered her small elite team of distinguished healers.

Naruto and Sasuke attacked Obito incessantly in their gigantic forms, with Misaki's chains chasing him, barely capturing him at every turn, he was fast, but they were becoming more and more adept to him and his fighting style, each of their unique way of tracking getting used to his movements more and more.
Obito was losing his patience, finally blocking rather than evading Naruto and Sasuke's attack.
"It's finally time for you to go to sleep, I'll guide you into the dream, there's no time left" at this Obito maneuvered his black orbs taking hold of Sasuke and Naruto within their forms, immobilizing them.
"Naruto, Sasuke get away from him" Misaki willed her chains to follow them, but missing my hairline, Obito dragged them down the only direction he could.
Down.
The force shoving her off of her feet, and slammed her against a boulder, nearly knocking her unconscious.
"Damn it" Misaki spit up blood and disappeared beneath the shadows of rocks and smoke.

The fight carried on with renewed vigor. The rest of the Allied forces prevented the tree from growing, with Wani and Ryouto aggressively attacking the tree from the air, while Naruto, Sasuke and Misaki fight and push Obito into a tight corner.
This was interrupted, as the earth beneath them quaked, at the sound of a crash.
Misaki looked towards Itachi who gave her a go signal before she disappeared into the newly formed crater, disappearing beneath the smoke.
"What the hell was that?" Natsume yelled, regaining her footing.
"It's Naruto and Sasuke"
"Misaki, where is Misaki?" Natsume shook Neji.
"I-I don't see her," Neji whispered under his breath.
"Misaki, I can't see her"

By the time Misaki had reached them, the smoke and debris settled, Sasuke, Naruto and Juugo lay on the bottom of the crater, their armor of chakra reduced to nothing.
"That was quite a fall huh" Misaki helped Naruto up, unable to hide her own weariness no matter how hard she tried. She held on to him as he tried to regain his own breath and footing.
Before them Obito still stood his stance, unscathed and angrier than ever.
"Why do you get up? And what are you fighting for? Is it for your comrades, your world? Listen, your friends will eventually betray you, and this world transforms love into hatred, you should know" Obito glanced at the twins, and behind them, his very own kinsman.
"In the past, people of the village, even Sasuke betrayed you, and your love for your master Jiraiya made you hate, you and I are the same, the cumulative weight of all your suffering will change you in time, and now, even more pain shall assault you, and you still insist you will not change, you don't even know when you're friends will betray you again, or if the allied forces might go back to fighting each other, you don't even know if you can defeat me. There is no reason to keep fighting for a world like this, in a few minutes, this world will be gone anyway, why do you still fight?" Obito monologued for ages.
"That's because, it's my Nindo, I never go back on my word" Naruto finally stood up straight, hand resting on Misaki's shoulder. This simple reply against Obito's endless speech made Misaki chuckle.
"It's a bit hard to put into words, so why don't we just show you" identical eyes stared at him with equal sense of determination and spunk, aggravating Obito even more.
"I thought I told you to go to sleep!"
Naruto donned Kurama's cloak once more, Sasuke standing to his left.
"Let's settle this with our next move" Sasuke activated susanoo as well as the twins nodded.
"We'll sleep tomorrow dreaming our own dreams!" The three of them rallied together, Naruto cloaked them inside Kurama's form, Sasuke armored them with Susanoo, and Misaki equipped them with a solid adamantine sword.
Obito did change his stance as well, willing his orbs into a weapon and a shield.
"Nothing will change, no matter how hard you try" he broke into a monologue once again in an attempt to get his opponents to lose hope.
'I'm starting to see why Kakashi and him don't get along, he sure does talk a lot' Misaki thought.
Before Misaki could continue with her train of thought, Naruto called their attention.
"Sasuke, let's focus everything in a single blow, Misaki, we're only gonna have a tiny window to strike, don't miss it" Naruto instructed, Sasuke wanted to roll his eyes, off all the people he needed to remind, the two with him were not one of those. The three of them exchange looks, affirming their roles.
Unfazed by their combined strength, Obito maneuvered the black orbs.
"And I will use this to obliterate this world" Obito yelled at them.
"We're not quite done yet" Misaki whispered as they prepared for their next move, Naruto already done with his.
In an instant, their friends came swooping in, each of them earning a place on the kyuubi's tail, equipped with their own life size rasengan.
In a swift moment, everybody pushed their rasengan towards Obito, and without a moment's reprise, the three of them followed after. Black matter clashing against golden chakra after having pierced through Obito's heavily weakened shield.
Tension was felt as they ground their teeth pushing forth, then suddenly, as fast as it began, it happened, they broke through Obito's resistance with their weapon, slicing his side open, serving as a gateway for the tapped tailed beasts in him.
"Misaki!"
"Already on it!" Misaki, ever quick to react, was already on her knees, molding her chakra chains through the channels of their combined chakra, and latching on to each escaping tailed beast.
"This wouldn't have worked if the bijuu didn't take a liking to you back then" Kurama explained from the recesses of their minds.
"You know what to do next, it's a tug of war, you have to pull them out with all your might"
"Got it!" Misaki and Naruto nodded in unison. With combined fervor the twins summoned everything in them and pulled.
Yet try as they might, Shukaku and Gyuki escaped from their holds.
"Damn it, I can't latch on to them" Misaki painted, doing her best as her chains chased the wriggling essence of the two bijuu.
Thankfully though, Gaara and Killer Bee just arrived in time to join their side in the game of tug of war.
"Gaara, Bee-no-ochan" Naruto cheered.
"Extract them, then the only power he'll have left is the Juubi's shell and the divine tree's flower will not bloom!" Kurama manned.
"Everyone, remember when I said that even a small power can be helpful, depending on how it's used, now it's time, that power that will change the course of this world, listen closely" Shikamaru instructed, and as Misaki listened, her mind began to zone out images of heartfelt memories invaded her conscious.
"These are," tears began to pour from their eyes as the memories and emotions that Obito held close traveled straight to their mind and hearts. Misaki reached out to Naruto's hand, interlocking their fingers as they experienced Obito's past together, with Kakashi, with Rin and with their parents.
"It's because your chakra is connected to his, his feelings will flow into you but don't let them distract you!" Kurama reminded.
"Don't underestimate the power of the Juubi Jinchuriki! I'm equivalent to the rikodo-sennin" Obito's voice broke Misaki out of her stupor, as he began to pull back.
"Just keep on pulling" Sasuke extended his susanoo to the others, so they can take part in the game of tug.
"You're the one who asked us to lend a hand, so we're helping out until the very end!" Kiba said.
"And that's not all" Shikamaru added as the alliance began to jump in with them.
"Everybody, grab hold unto may chakra" Minato instructed everyone as Misaki extended her chakra chain towards him and his claw like chakra latched onto hers, landing to spread chakra to everyone.
"Don't underestimate the power of a unified shinobi alliance!"
"Alright, everyone, we'll do it together, on my mark"
"PULL" Naruto directed the alliance.
This time, it was Naruto's turn to enter the mind of Obito.
"You got this Naruto!" Misaki sent a silent whisper of encouragement.
"Everyone's power, don't you dare underestimate it!" With one final great pull, both mentally and physically, the were able to free the tailed beasts from Obito.
"We did it!"
"They're out!" Misaki and Naruto hugged each other as the bijuu began to manifest into their original forms.
Breaking free from one another, Misaki's eyes landed onto Sasuke, watching them both intently, making Misaki wonder, was his gaze always that intense or was it the mangekyou sharingan activated.
Still, Misaki mustered a sincere smile and nodded at him.
exhausted and aching, they watched the unmoving form of Obito, staring up at the blood red moon.
In a rush, Sasuke drew his katana, and sprinted towards Obito.
"Sasuke! Wait!" Naruto chased after Sasuke, thus forcing Misaki to follow after them.
By the time Misaki was able to catch up, Kakashi and her father had beaten the two to Obito.
"Naruto, Misaki you and the allied forces go and help Lord First to seal Madara away" Minato told his children.
"That's right, we still have to deal with him, let's go Sasuke, Misaki" Naruto was already running away from them, Misaki hot on his heels.
"Naruto! Race you there" Misaki smirked disappearing at the foot of the divine tree as Naruto began to climb his way up.

Before you get angry at me, I have a confession, and also an excuse. This is going to be a bit of a story time so feel free to skip to the actual chapter.
The reason why I was unable to continue this story was because I encountered several medical struggles while I was away.
First one, the actual Covid-19 hit me hard around July 2020. I don't think I've ever felt that bad in my life, even worse than my major surgery back in 2017. I was incapacitated for a month as I was taken to the hospital and quarantined, and as if that wasn't bad enough, the things that piled up, both professionally and personally made it worse. Just as I was starting to catch my breath and things were just starting to settle down in the early days of 2022, I caught the Omicron variant, in all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. It wasn't as hard as the first one, but having a weak respiratory system and chronic sinusitis made recovery extra hard. Then around last August, I battled with dengue, incapacitating me for a week before I was finally hospitalized. My platelet count dropped and continued to drop by the day, my body was swelling, my fever was still going on even after a week, I had no appetite and I was bleeding..a lot.
Thankfully I made recovery on the fifth day I was in the hospital.
After that I was just so angry and had no motivation to do anything I love. Then while I was sorting through some stuff, I found the ridiculous amount of notes I wrote just for this chapter and I was like, holy crap I want to write this, thus here I am.
