How is it going, everyone?!

Man, how long has it been, huh? I'm sorry for making you all think the story has died out when in reality, I was working on trying to figure out where to go from here. I think I finally understand and I want to take a moment to thank all of you for waiting patiently. You're awesome!

Okay, enough praising. ONTO THE REVIEWS!

Stephanieeiche10: Let's continue to pray 2021 will be better.

RHatch89: Thanks.

Yukistorm04: Totodile can be a funny Pokemon, especially when it came to the anime, so that's why I paired him with Aizawa. Man, you are coming up with so many theories, it's crazy… though you MIGHT be right about something. I am SO happy you acknowledge the God Rowlet. He will rule this land with his mighty round body!

BanRedfox: Thanks man. I hope this next chapter will be awesome.

Guest: You'll see who gets the egg.

TBone: Considering that Clefairy is a master at gravity control, it makes sense for Uravity to have one.

Guest number 2: Well, I have a lot of different ideas for certain characters. I know some of my choices may be random, but it's to add variety to the story. I hope you understand that. And yeah, Aizawa will get more feline Pokemon.

Guest number 3: I can't think of who'd get Dynamax Pokemon right now, but it would be fun to think of.

UnsanMusho: There will be some pairings, but I will keep them in the dark for now.

Guest number 4: Happy Pokemon day to you, too!

Last time: The students of 1-A woke up to the sight of the Pokemon that had bonded with greeting them. As they played with the Pokemon, the students were given a surprising offer to be Pokemon Trainers, which they accepted without a moment's hesitation. Elsewhere, the detective known as Looker investigated the murders in Goldenrod city, which he believes is connected to a criminal organization that had since been disbanded.

How will our heroes handle their first Pokemon journey? Time to find out…

'Professor Elm's lab, sometime later'

To say the group of Class 1-A students were excited would be an understatement. Some of them had always wanted to know how it felt to be a Pokemon trainer while others simply wanted to explore the Johto region.

And with the offer Professor Elm gave them, they were allowed to finally do this.

"I am SO pumped!" Mina cheered with a happy tone before she did a spin on her heel. "And this outfit is SO for me, am I right?" Since they were allowed to travel through the Johto region, the students felt they should be allowed to wear clothes that were more comfortable for traveling. Mina now wore a blank tank top with the words 'Alien Queen' written in purple, a pair of blue shorts that looked torn on the edge, yellow and white sneakers, as well as a pair of green-rimmed sunglasses.

"You look cute." Tsu told her friend before tilting her head. "But do you have pants in case it gets cold?" Like Mina, Tsu decided to make a change of clothes. She was now wearing a yellow shirt with green sleeves, white shorts, long black socks with yellow lines, yellow and green shoes with white laces and her hair was tied in a shorter ponytail, with a blue scrunchy holding it together.

"Man, this is gonna be awesome! Don't you think, Bakugo?" Kirishima asked his friend with a grin. He wore a button down red shirt that was open, revealing a white undershirt, tan shorts, and red and white sneakers.

"It just gives me another chance to show off my skills. I'll crush anyone who gets in my way." Bakugo said with a confident tone and smirk. His new attire consisted of a black undershirt under a long red and white jacket(similar to Hugh's in Black and White), red shorts and white shoes.

"I hope I packed the essentials. We shouldn't go unprepared." Momo said to Shoto with a smile. She wore a frilly pink blouse with white sleeves, a small red bowtie, a white skirt, long black leggings and brown boots.

"Right." Was all Shoto said with a calm tone. He wore a simple white shirt over an open black button down shirt, brown shorts, and gray and white shoes.

"Remember, everyone! We must show Professor Elm that his faith in us as travelers is justified! Do not do anything that would bring shame to UA!" Tenya told his classmates with his usual hand chop. He wore a light blue collar shirt, light brown pants with a belt, and brown shoes.

"He can hide it, but I feel like Iida's just as excited as we are." Ochaco told Izuku with an amused giggle. She wore a black shirt with a red pokeball symbol on it, a pink jacket over it, short blue shorts and pink shoes.

"I can't blame him. Honestly, I'm excited too." Izuku commented with his own smile as he fixed his All Might hat on his head(which wasn't odd since he was an All Might fanboy). His new attire consisted of a black shirt under a light blue jacket, fingerless black gloves, dark blue pants and his usual sneakers.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting." Coming into the room was Professor Elm, who was wheeling in a cart that had the Starter Pokemon. "We just did one more checkup for the Pokemon and it looks like everyone's ready." Professor Elm explained. A moment later, the Starter Pokemon all jumped down from the cart and ran into the arms of their chosen partners.

"Okay, each of you will be given the starting equipment for each trainer." Elm's assistant said as she and the other assistants began handing the students their equipment. "We're also giving you a good amount of Pokemon food so you won't have to worry about feeding your Pokemon."

"And remember that Yen won't work here in Johto. So the only way you would be able to make Pokemon Dollars is through battle." Elm continued with a finger raised. "And don't forget that Pokemon Centers are willing to heal your Pokemon for free, but you should buy enough Potions for your Pokemon."

"And most importantly: don't use your Quirks unless it's absolutely necessary." Aizawa reminded as he walked in the room, Totodile on his shoulder. "Many of you have your Provisional Licenses, but that doesn't mean you're free to use them whenever you feel like it."

"We understand, Mister Aizawa. And I assure you we will not disappoint you!" Tenya announced proudly. Aizawa gave them a nod before Totodile licked his cheek, much to the teacher's irritation and the student's amusement.

"Can we do something about… this?" Aizawa asked the professor while gesturing to Totodile, who simply smiled without a care in the world. Elm gave him an apologetic expression, making Aizawa sigh. "Of course you don't."

"(You taste funny)." Totodile said with a chuckle, not knowing how irritating his actions were to the Erasure Hero.

"Professor, the egg's ready for delivery." One of the assistants walked up to the professor, holding an incubator with a pure blue egg inside. Elm examined the egg before smiling.

"Good, thank you." Elm then took the egg in his arms, walking up to the teens, specifically Izuku. "Again, I would like to thank you for offering to help, Midoriya. I wish I didn't need to burden you like this."

"It's no trouble at all, Professor. I always wanted to see a Pokemon egg up close." Izuku confessed before Elm gave him the incubator, which forced Rowlet to land on Izuku's head. He started looking at the egg, marveling at its size and color. "And you don't know what Pokemon is inside?"

"Afraid not. You won't know what Pokemon is inside until it hatches." Elm said with a chuckle, which made sense to everyone. He then gave the students a smile. "I wish all of you good luck on your journeys. It won't be easy, though compared to your hero training, it might be just as difficult… bad joke, I know. Still, do your best and remember to have fun."

"We will, Professor." Most of them said, with Bakugo merely giving a simple nod. Gathering their backpacks, the group of ten began to exit the lab, with their teacher watching. Elm noticed the look on Aizawa's face before placing a hand on his free shoulder.

"I'm sure they'll be fine, Aizawa. They are your students." Elm told him in a reassuring tone, to which Aizawa just gave him a blank stare.

"That's not what I was thinking about." Aizawa simply said before he turned around. "I'm just worried they'll cause everyone a headache."

"Oh…" A sweatdrop formed on the back of Elm's head. That wasn't what he expected the Erasure Quirk hero to say, but since he had been their teacher for a while, it made sense he had faith in them… he had hoped.

'New Bark Town'

"Alright! Who's ready to get started?!" Mina announced to the group with a big grin on her face.

"Wait, before we go, we need to discuss one more thing." Tenya spoke up with a stern tone before he gestured to the egg in Izuku's arm. "We can't allow Midoriya to go to Cherrygrove City alone. It wouldn't be fair to him."

"It's okay, Iida. I volunteered to take the egg." Izuku said, gesturing to said egg. Then again, going with his friends would be fun.

"He can go alone for all I care." Bakugo said with an uncaring tone before he began to walk away, Litten on his shoulder. "I'm going ahead."

"(I guess we're going)." Litten called out to his fellow Pokemon before giving them a lazy wave.

"Bakugo, hang on!" Kirishima called out to his friend before he turned to everyone. "I'm gonna go with him to make sure he doesn't… you know."

"Well if you're going, then I'm coming with you!" Mina said as she ran up to her 'horn buddy', Mudkip under her arm.

"(Yay! More fun)!" Mudkip cheered with a giggle.

"(I hope we get to fight some strong Pokemon)!" Chespin added while punching the air to show how excited he was.

"Good luck, Kirishima and Ashido. Make sure to keep in contact." Tenya reminded them, getting a nod from both of them before they ran off to follow their classmate.

"If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to go ahead too." Shoto spoke up in a calm voice.

"Then would you mind if I came along?" Momo asked him politely, to which he nodded. A smile graced Momo's face as she looked down at Fennekin in her arms. "Ready?"

"(Yes! Let's go)!" Fennekin cheered while wagging her tail, earning a giggle from her new partner.

"Can I come too?" Tsuyu chimed in with a head tilt.

"Sure." Shoto said with a shrug, not seeing a problem with letting her join them.

"(Finally. It's about time)." Treecko said with a frown. He was already getting tired of waiting around for the humans. He didn't want to wait any longer.

"(You can at least look a little happy, you know)." Froakie told the Grass Type, who simply gave him an annoyed look. "(Or don't. Whatever)."

"Good luck, you guys!" Ochaco told her friends as they too began to walk away on their own, leaving her, Izuku, Tenya and their Pokemon. "Well, I guess that means the three of us should go together then, huh?"

"Really? You don't need to if you don't want to." Izuku insisted before Tenya put a hand on his shoulder, giving him a small smile.

"Midoriya, we're your friends. It isn't a problem for us. Besides, traveling in a group would give us more opportunities to learn more about Johto." Tenya explained, making Izuku return his smile. At least he wouldn't be going off alone, besides Rowlet of course.

"Then let's get going!" Ochaco said with a happy tone, with Popplio raising her flippers to copy her movements. Izuku and Tenya both nodded in unison before the group began to leave as well.

And thus, Class 1-A's journey as Pokemon Trainers have truly begun.

Although…

"WAIT!" The group stopped when they heard Elm call out to them, rushing out of his lab. He quickly ran to them, stopping just a few feet away while panting hard. "I… forgot… to…"

"Professor, please calm down." Tenya urged the professor.

"(Wow. I forgot he can't run too much)." Torchic commented, giving Elm a look of sympathy.

"Right… sorry…" Elm was able to regain his breath before he composed himself. "I forgot to give all of you my number on your Poke Gears. Just in case you had any questions for me and to keep me updated on the egg."

"Oh… well, everyone else left." Ochaco pointed out, to which Elm noticed.

"Oh darn. I wanted to give all of you my number. But I guess I was too late." Elm said with a sigh. "At least I was able to catch up with you three. Please give me your Poke Gears." The three did as he asked, allowing him to enter his number.

"Number has been accepted. Professor Elm has been registered." The Poke Gears spoke up in a robotic female voice.

"Good." Elm said with a smile before he gave them their Poke Gears. "Don't be afraid to call if you have anything you'd like to ask me."

'Route 29, one hour later'

The group led by the resident Explosion user were making a decent pace as they made their way through Route 29. It was rather nice, with lush trees, beautiful flowers and above all less, wild Pokemon simply minding their own business.

*Click*Click*

"Ohhh, that one's cute! No, that one is! No, that one!" Of course, the trip wasn't exactly quiet as Mina continued to take pictures with her phone. It made sense since she wanted to memorize everything about Johto and share it with her friends.

"(She sure likes using that thing, huh)?" Mudkip commented, seeing Mina take yet another selfie with her, which resulted in the Water Pokemon getting a bit dizzy.

"(It's nice to be out of the lab like this. I wonder when we'll fight)." Chespin added from Kirishima's shoulder.

"Say, Bakugo? Mind if we take a break? It's not like the others are ahead, you know." Kirishima asked his friend, who simply kept walking with a somewhat bored expression.

"(Yeah. I wanna eat)." Litten said as he pawed Bakugo's cheek, getting his attention.

"What?" He asked with a raised brow. The Fire Cat Pokemon pointed at his stomach, which Bakugo caught on. With a sigh, Bakugo began examining the area until he found a small log under a tree. "Fine." And with that, the trio took a seat on the log, with their Pokemon seated on the ground. One by one, they all took out some snacks Professor Elm had given them, along with a bow with a sizable amount of Pokemon food.

"Enjoy, you guys." Mina said with a smile as their Pokemon began to eat. As their Pokemon ate, they began to eat their own snacks, taking in the scenery. "So, what kind of Pokemon do you guys wanna catch?"

"I don't know. Maybe something as strong as Chespin. Oh, I could always find a Rock type. They're pretty manly." Kirishima stated as he drank from his water bottle. "What about you, Bakugo?"

"Dragon. I want a Dragon Pokemon." Bakugo answered as he threw some chips in his mouth. "I hear they're some of the strongest Pokemon around, so I wanna catch some."

"(I bet we'll catch one before you do, Litten)." Chespin told the Fire Starter with a confident tone, though he was ignored.

"(Maybe we will. Maybe not. Doesn't matter to me)." Litten shrugged lazily, munching on his food.

"I'd like some cute Pokemon, but Poison is definitely my go too… besides Mudkip, of course." Mina said before she corrected herself. Luckily, Mudkip didn't seem to mind and simply smiled at her. "You know, if we wanna get to the Pokemon League, we should train."

"Well, we can't use our Quirks on them… unless we have a Pokemon battle!" Kirishima realized with wide eyes. It was true that Pokemon needed to battle in order to get stronger and since they were a few hours away from Cherrygrove, now's as good a time as any. The red haired teen looked at Bakugo with a toothy grin. "Say Bakugo, wanna battle?"

"Really?" Bakugo asked with a curious tone. It wasn't that he was against a battle, more that he was more curious about why he would ask now. Then again, they had been walking for some time, not even bothering to battle any wild Pokemon in their way.

So with a smirk, Kastuki Bakugo stood up and put a hand in his pocket.

"Alright. You asked for it. Litten!" Bakugo shouted to his partner.

"(Okay, okay. I hear you)." Litten answered with a slightly annoyed tone before he walked next to his partner.

"Chespin!" Kirishima called out as well, though unlike Litten, the Grass Pokemon straightened up with an excited expression.

"(Yes! It's about time)!" Chespin cheered as he ran next to his human partner.

"Then I'll act as referee!" Mina stood up as well, excited to see the two of them battle with their Pokemon. Mudkip also stood up, ready to see her fellow Pokemon spar with one another. Bakugo and Kirishima decided to set their battle in the open field to avoid any destruction. Both stood on one side each, with Mina and Mudkip standing in the middle. "Okay, the battle between Bakugo and Kirishima will now begin! Both sides will only use one Pokemon and the battle is over when one side is down. Also, neither of you can use your Quirks, especially you, Bakugo~"

"Screw you too, Racoon Eyes!" Bakugo called out, annoyed that she would make such an assumption of him. He and Kirishima then took the time to take out their Pokedexes, examining the moves their partners knew.

"Alright, are you guys ready?" Mina asked, getting nods from both sides. She raised her arms in the air before bringing them down. "Then begin!"

"Chespin, start off with a Tackle!" Kirishima ordered with an arm extended. Chespin grinned widely before he began to charge towards Litten.

"Get out of the way and scratch him!" Bakugo yelled in response. Litten narrowed his eyes before he pounced out of the way. Once Chespin missed, Litten's claws began to glow before leaping forward, slashing Chespin on the face.

(OWOWOW! That hurt)!" Chespin whined as he held his face.

"Shake it off pal and use Growl!" Kirishima called out. Chespin got over the pain he was in before unleashing a loud(and cute) Growl. Litten winced at the volume before a red aura surrounded him.

'Damn. He's trying to make Litten weak. But…' A grin grew on Bakugo's face. 'Like that'll stop us!' "Litten, blast him with Ember!"

"(That hurt my ears, you know)!" Litten told Chespin with an irritated tone before he opened his mouth, launching several small fireballs.

"Jump out of the way and use Vine Whip!" Kirishima ordered, getting a grin from Chespin. Buckling his little legs, Chespin rolled out of the way, causing the Ember attack to hit the ground. Chespin narrowed his eyes as he launched two long vines from his shoulders, smacking Litten on the face.

"(Oww)." Was all Litten said with a frown.

"How was that, Bakugo?! We're not going easy on you!" Kirishima declared to his friend with an excited tone, which Chespin copied.

"You're not bad, Kirishima. But, not good enough!" Bakugo replied, having his own smirk. "Litten, Ember back to back!"

"Use Vine Whip back to back, too!" Kirishima ordered as both Pokemon began to scream. Soon, the battle turned into a clash of wills as both Starters unleashed their attacks on one another, which actually forced Mina and Mudkip to dodge.

"(Hey! We aren't fighting)!" Mudkip called out as she jumped out of the way of a stray Ember. However, it looked like neither of them were listening as they continued to attack.

"Ember, one more time!"

"Vine Whip on Litten's legs!"

Litten was preparing to launch Ember for the umptenth time in a row, but Chespin had other plans. Stretching out his Vine Whip, the Kalos starter was able to smack Litten's front legs, causing him to leap and launch his Ember over his intended target.

"(Ha! You missed)!" Chespin gloated with a proud tone. Litten glared at him and was about to retort…

"(OWWWWW)!) However, everyone was caught off guard by a sudden yelp of pain in the background. Everyone turned their heads to see who got hit by Litten's Ember. The one who was it was a larval Pokémon with a segmented body ranging in color from yellow to reddish-brown. Each segment of its body is a sphere. It has a bulbous red nose, two small, black eyes on its face and two spherical feet on each body segment. The combination of red and yellow in its color scheme creates a bright warning to predators that it is poisonous. It has a conical, two-inch venomous stinger on its head and a barbed one on its tail.

The wild Pokemon soon fell on the ground, its body covered in small burn marks.

"Woah! Time out!" Mina called out with her arms crossed in an X-shape. She and Mudkip then ran over to the fallen Pokemon, studying its wound. "Oh, it's burned pretty bad."

"(Don't worry. We're here to help)." Mudkip reassured the Pokemon with a concerned tone.

"What is that?" Kirishima asked as he took out his Pokedex.

"Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokemon. Its poison stinger is very powerful. Its bright-colored body is intended to warn off its enemies."

"(She must have been sleeping the whole time we were fighting)." Chespin stated with a deep frown. Mina reached out and gently picked the Bug Pokemon, who withered in pain.

"(Please… no more)..." Weedle asked with a moan.

"We have to take it to the hospital or something." Kirishima said before he realized something. "Oh right, we're not anywhere near one."

"Use this." Bakugo took out a Potion from his bag before tossing it to Mina, who caught it.

"Thanks, though it IS your fault this little guy got hurt." Mina reminded him, getting a scoff from Bakugo. Mina then aimed the Potion at Weedle's wounds before spraying it, causing the Bug and Poison type to flinch. However, the pain disappeared and a sense of relief washed over Weedle. "There. That should do it." Weedle's eyes began to twitch before she opened them, seeing the humans and Pokemon look at her.

"(What… happened)?" Weedle questioned.

"(We might have… accidentally attacked you)." Chespin confessed while rubbing the back of his head. He noticed Litten look away, which prompted him to nudge the Fire type.

"(Sorry)..." Litten apologized while looking out, either out of pride or embarrassment.

"You okay, sweetie?" Mina asked the Pokemon in her arms.

"(I am. Thank you)." Weedle thanked Mina before moving up to rub her cheek, earning a giggle from the Acid Quirk user.

"Awww, you're so cute!" Mina said as she hugged Weedle, who seemed to enjoy the embrace.

"You know, it looks like Weedle likes you, Mina." Kirishima said with a grin. "Maybe you should catch it."

"You think?" Mina asked with a surprised tone. She wasn't expecting to catch a Pokemon so early, especially since she technically didn't battle Weedle. Yet seeing how cute Weedle was, Mina couldn't help but want said Pokemon all to herself. "What do you say? Wanna come with me?"

"(Sure)!" Weedle replied, not seeing anything wrong with joining Mina. She seemed nice enough, at least compared to the other humans.

"Awesome!" Mina grinned widely, happy to see Weedle accept her offer. "Oh! I need a Pokeball."

"(Here's one)!" Mudkip, having gone to Mina's bag, was balancing a Pokeball on her head before offering it to her trainer, who took it.

"Thanks, Mudkip." Mina patted her partner on the head in appreciation before looking at Weedle. "Well, welcome to the team!" And with that, she tapped the Pokeball gently on Weedle's head, causing it to open and absorb it into the ball. The Poke ball shook three times before stopping, with a loud 'ding' coming out of it to signal the capture. "ALRIGHT! I CAUGHT WEEDLE!" Mina stood up and did a cute pose as she raised the Pokeball in the air, with Mudkip jumping next to her in excitement.

"Nice one!" Kirishima congratulated her. "You caught your first Pokemon before any of us."

"Oh yeah." Mina realized before she gave Bakugo a teasing smirk. "Looks like I'm ahead of you, Bakugo~"

"Shut up! You just got lucky!" Bakugo shouted with a vein throbbing on his head. "Besides, it's just a damn bug!"

"(Sounds like he's jealous)." Mudkip giggled in amusement.

"(Eh. He'll probably want a strong Pokemon, anyways)." Litten stated with a nonchalant tone.

"We're done here. Let's get going!" Bakugo suddenly yelled at everyone as he walked back to the bags, picking up his own before walking ahead.

"Hang on, man! Wait for us!" Kirishima and Mina quickly grabbed their things before they proceeded to follow Bakugo.

They hadn't reached Cherrygrove, yet they were the first ones to catch a Pokemon before anyone else.

That was an achievement.

'With Todoroki's group'

"Treecko, Pound." Shoto calmly commanded as his Pokemon charged at a Sentret. Pulling his tail back, Treecko slammed it against Sentret's face, causing the Normal Pokemon to yell in pain. Due to the strength of the attack, Sentret was knocked out, landing on the ground with swirls in its eyes.

"Excellent work Todoroki, Treecko." Momo complimented her friend with a smile.

"Thanks." Shoto replied calmly before he walked over to Treecko. He then looked at his hand before reaching out to pat him, only for the Grass Type to glare at him.

"(Don't)." Treecko warned him, though Shoto didn't understand. However, he was able to get the message due to the glare. With a scoff, Treecko walked over to a tree before climbing it, sitting on the branch.

"It doesn't look like Treecko likes attention." Tsu commented, noticing how edgy Treecko was. "It kind of reminds me of how you were, Todoroki."

"Really?" Shoto asked with a mildly surprised tone, as if unaware of what she was implying. Then again, he never meant to be so cold to everyone when he first started in UA. "I didn't notice."

"It might take time for Treecko to warm up to you." Momo said with a frown. "Try to be patient, Todoroki." All she got was a nod as he looked up at Treecko.

"(Treecko's making it hard to bond with his partner)." Fennekin told Froakie with a deep frown.

"(You can't blame him after how many trainers ignored him)." Froakie replied as he crossed his arms. "(Then again, he could at least crack a smile)."

*Rustle*

The group suddenly heard something rustling in the tall grass, making their Pokemon narrow their eyes.

"What is that?" Momo whispered to her friends, who said nothing as they continued to look at the grass.

However… something jumped out of it.

It was a raccoon-like, quadrupedal Pokémon with bristly, zigzag-patterned fur. It has stripes formed by alternating layers of cream and brown fur. It has a brown head with spiky ears and a black nose. A black, mask pattern surrounds its brown eyes. The upper half of its mouth is jagged, and when it is open, there are two pointed teeth in its lower jaw. Its feet have three claws and pink paw pads. Its forefeet are cream-colored, but the hind feet are brown. Its brush tail is spiky and bristly.

The new Pokemon growled at them as Tsuyu took out her Pokedex.

"Zigzagoon, the Tiny Racoon Pokemon. Zigzagoon restlessly wanders everywhere at all times. This Pokémon does so because it is very curious. It becomes interested in anything that it happens to see."

"It must have heard us talking." Tsuyu theorized before an idea popped in her mind. "Froakie, would you mind helping me fight this Pokemon?"

"(Kay)." Froakie replied with a raised hand before he leaped in front of Tsuyu, giving a serious expression. He wasn't against battling another Pokemon, especially if it meant he could get stronger for Tsuyu. Zigzagoon began the battle by charging forward via Tackle.

"Froakie, jump!" Tsuyu ordered as her Pokemon nodded. Just as Zigzagoon was about to strike him, Froakie leaped in the air. "Bubble!"

"(Take this)!" Opening his mouth, Froakie unleashed a barrage of bubbles. Zigzagoon screamed in pain as Froakie's Bubble attack struck him. Shaking away the pain, Zigzagoon glared at Froakie before unleashing a Growl attack.

"Tsu, that was Growl! It'll make Froakie's physical attacks weaker." Momo informed Tsuyu, having ready up on status moves.

"(Keep going, Froakie)!" Fennekin called out. Once Froakie landed on the ground, Zigzagoon began to run left and right in order to confuse Froakie as it moved in for another Tackle.

"Froakie, counter with Pound!" Tsuyu called out to Froakie, though he seemed to be a bit skeptical.

"(Oh well. She knows what to do)." Froakie told himself before his right hand began to glow. Leaping forward, Froakie slammed his hand into Zigzagoon's head, causing the two to stand their ground.

"Even if Pound was weakened, it's still able to hold off against Zigzagoon." Shoto spoke up to no one in particular.

However, Tsuyu had a plan.

"Bubble!" She ordered, earning a knowing grin from Froakie. Zigzagoon widened its eyes before Froakie opened his mouth, firing another barrage of bubbles that were too close to avoid. All the Normal type could do was scream as it was sent several feet away, losing consciousness. "We did it!"

"(Good job, Froakie)!" Fennekin cheered while jumping up and down. Momo gave him a clap and even Shoto gave a small nod of acknowledgement. Tsuyu went over to Froakie before picking him up, patting him on the head.

"You were great, Froakie." Tsuyu admitted, making Froakie turn away with a hint of pink in his cheeks.

"(It was no problem. I just did what I had to)." Froakie told her, not trying to drop his pride. However, hearing the praise he was getting felt nice.

"That was impressive, Asui." Shoto told Tsuyu. "Froakie's a fast Pokemon. He'll prove useful for future battles."

"Thanks, Todoroki. Maybe we can have a Pokemon battle one day." Tsuyu offered him, to which he nodded.

Treecko, who had caught the battle, simply stared at Froakie with narrowed eyes.

'(He's not terrible, but I won't lose to him. I'll never lose).' Was what Treecko thought seriously.

'With Izuku's team, sometime later'

"My feet are killing me." Ochaco slightly whined as she continued to walk behind Izuku and Tenya, still carrying Popplio in her arms. Said Pokemon, wanting to entertain herself, continued to blow bubbles from her nose, allowing them to float away. The last group had continued to walk through Route 29, though they went a different direction from their classmates. The trip itself was rather peaceful, though they were forced to battle several Spearow, Spinarak and the occasional Weedle. Luckily, they were able to handle them thanks to their Pokemon, which made each of them stronger.

Still, it was mid afternoon and they were starting to feel exhausted.

"Iida, how much farther are we from Cherrygrove City?" Izuku had to ask his friend, still carrying the egg. Tenya reached into his pocket and pulled out his Poke Gear, checking the map feature.

"Judging by how much we've traveled, we should be at Cherrygrove City by 2:45." Tenya answered, looking at the clock. "Right now, it's 1:30. It should take us at least one more hour if we continue to walk at this pace."

"(Wow, he really likes to keep organized)." Popplio commented, impressed with how orderly Tenya was being, even more than Professor Elm.

"(That's how he is. I hope I can be like him too)." Torchic said with a smile while riding on Tenya's shoulder. He was an orderly Pokemon, so being paired with someone like Tenya was perfect for Torchic.

*Growl*

The group stopped walking when they heard a rather audible growl.

"What was that?" Ochaco asked, looking around the area with a concerned expression.

"I don't know. But stay on your guard." Tenya told them with a serious tone, ready to send Torchic out at any given moment.

*Growl*

"Hang on…" Izuku raised a hand to stop them from talking. He swore he could FEEL the growling.

*Growl*

Blinking a bit, Izuku looked up at Rowlet, who seemed to deflate with a frown.

"(I'm hungry)." Rowlet said with a moan, earning a sweatdrop from everyone.

"Oh, it's just Rowlet." Izuku stated with a sigh, feeling a bit embarrassed with how his Pokemon was the cause of the noise. "He must be hungry." Rowlet looked up and noticed a big, shiny red apple on a tree nearby.

"We should rest over there." Tenya pointed towards several rocks that looked comfortable enough to sit on. However, before they could walk over, Rowlet flew off Izuku's head, moving towards the apple.

"Rowlet?" Izuku questioned as he saw his Pokemon fly over to the apple, a hungry expression on his face.

"(Mmmmm, apple)..." Rowlet said while licking his beak. However, before he could move to take a bite…

"(Get away from my food)!" Something flew out of the tree, striking Rowlet on the head. The Grass/Flying starter yelped in pain as he started to plummet down to the ground.

"Rowlet!" Izuku quickly ran over jump, catching Rowlet before he could hit the ground. "What was that?!"

The attacker was a small, birdlike Pokémon that is primarily dark blue, including its wings, tail, back and part of its head. The lower part of its body and chest is yellow and has a black part that begins from under its wings to its face, from which feathers protrude over its head, giving it a mask-like appearance. It has red eyes and small gray feet and legs.

"(What are you looking at)?" The Pokemon asked with a defensive tone.

"Awww, it's so cute." Ochaco commented with a smile. Finding the small Pokemon's appearance to be adorable.

"(I am NOT cute)!" The Pokemon shouted with a tick mark before it swooped towards her with a glowing beak, which indicates its use of Peck.

"(Look out)!" Popplio shouted before she unleashed a Bubble attack. The Pokemon gasped before maneuvering around the attack with surprising caution.

"Impressive movement." Tenya muttered before he took out his Pokedex.

"Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. It will bravely challenge any opponent, no matter how powerful. This Pokémon benefits from every battle—even a defeat increases its strength a bit."

"It must have wanted that apple, but since Rowlet was about to eat it, it got mad." Ochaco theorized as she looked at Rookidee.

"We're sorry for making you angry, Rookidee! Rowlet didn't mean it, right?" Izuku asked his partner, who seemed to still be in a trance from the attack.

"(I… am… a pretty… bird)..." Rowlet said in a dizzy tone, his eyes turned to swirls.

"(Why don't you just leave? We aren't causing you any trouble)." Torchic told Rookidee with a frown.

"(Really? That human called me cute! She has to pay)!" Rookidee told them all with an angry tone.

"It doesn't look like it wants to stop." Tenya stated before he stepped forward. "Torchic, will you assist me?"

"(Right)!" Torchic jumped in front of his partner, ready to defend him. Rookidee, noticing this, decided to fly in with another Peck.

"Ember!" Tenya ordered as Torchic opened his mouth, unleashing a barrage of small embers. Much to everyone's surprise, instead of dodging, Rookidee opted to push through Ember, despite the pain from said attack. Rookidee then struck Torchic with a rather strong Peck, earning a yelp of pain from the Fire Starter.

"(Who's cute now)?!" Rookidee gloated as he flew back in the air, satisfied with the attack landing.

"Are you alright?" Tenya asked Torchic, who shook off the pain.

"(I'm good, Tenya)." Torchic replied while giving him a nod. The attack was strong, despite how little Rookidee was, but that still didn't mean he would stop.

"Alright, then use Growl to weaken Rookidee's attacks!" Tenya yelled while pointing at Rookidee. Sucking in some air, Torchic let out an audible Growl, which made Rookidee narrow his eyes in annoyance while he was surrounded with a red aura. "Use another Ember!"

"(Take this)!" Torchic unleashed a barrage of embers once again. Rookidee, seeing this, began to fly around to dodge once again.

"That won't work, Iida!" Ochaco called out.

"Hang on. I think he has a plan." Izuku told her, seeing the serious look on Tenya's face. He wasn't the Class President for nothing.

"Keep attacking, Torchic. Trust me." Tenya informed his partner with a confident tone. Torchic acknowledged this and continued to launch Ember at Rookidee.

"(Launch all the fireballs you want. You won't beat me)!" Rookidee called out before he began to dive towards Torchic once more, although this time, he was glowing purple.

"(Look out Torchic)!" Popplio called out while waving her flippers in Ochaco's arms.

"Wait for it… wait for it…" Tenya continued to say, waiting for the right time to strike. Once Rookidee was close enough, Tenya gave a new command. "Torchic, dodge and use Scratch!"

"(Right)!" Torchic ceased his Ember attack as he jumped to the right, narrowly dodging Rookidee's Power Trip. He then opened his right foot, with his talons glowing. Rookidee gasped as Torchic slashed him on the stomach, making him crash on the ground.

"Ember!" Tenya ordered as Torchic unleashed his Ember once more, this time hitting Rookidee in full force. Once Torchic stopped, the group was able to look at Rookidee, who laid on the ground with small burn marks on his body.

"(I… won't… give up)..." Despite how sore he felt, Rookidee still stood up, glaring harshly at Tenya and Torchic.

"Woah, Rookidee's able to get up, even after all that?" Izuku couldn't help but say, impressed with how resilient the Tiny Bird Pokemon was. Tenya simply looked at Rookidee, putting a hand under his chin in thought. He had to admit Rookidee was a tough Pokemon, minus the attitude. But with the proper guidance…

"Torchic, don't attack." Tenya told his Pokemon, much to his surprise.

"(We're stopping)?" Torchic questioned, only for Tenya to take out a Pokeball. "(Ohhhh)..."

"You're going to catch it?" Ochaco asked in surprise.

"Yes." Tenya replied before he fixed his glasses. "Rookidee has shown how determined it was during the battle and while its tactics could be improved, its power is impressive. By catching Rookidee, I may be able to train it to its fullest potential. That's the role heroes must play in any society!" Even though he was acting a bit dramatic, Izuku, Ochaco and even their Pokemon couldn't help but admire Tenya's words. But none were as amazed as Torchic.

"(That's my partner)." Torchic said with a proud smile before he turned to Rookidee. "(Well, it looks like you're coming with us)."

"(Oh yeah? Try me)!" Rookidee called out. However, he soon regretted his words as Tenya threw his Pokeball, causing it to hit Rookidee on the head and absorb him inside. Once it fully absorbed Rookidee, the Pokeball fell on the ground, shaking. Everyone watched in anticipation as the Pokeball continued to shake.

But after three shakes… the Pokeball stopped shaking and let out a 'Ding' Tenya walked over to the Pokeball before picking it up, letting out a smile.

"Congrats, Iida! You caught Rookidee!" Ochaco said as she and Izuku ran up to him, happy to see the Pokeball.

"Thank you. I'm sure me, Torchic and Rookidee will make a formidable team." Tenya told her before he kneeled down and patted his partner on the head. "I'm grateful for your help, Torchic."

"(It's my honor, Tenya)." Torchic told him with a smile. Sure Rookidee might need some work in regards to his personality, but as long as Tenya was around, Torchic had nothing to worry about.

"I still feel bad about this. Rookidee only attacked because of Rowlet." Izuku spoke up before he felt Rowlet shift in his arms. The Alolan Pokemon let out a yawn while spreading his arms.

"(Ahhh, that was nice)." Rowlet said with a somewhat exhausted tone before he noticed everyone looking at him. "(Did I miss something)?"

"(Classic Rowlet)." Popplio said with an amused giggle as everyone else laughed at Rowlet's expression.

However, none of them realized the Pokemon egg move ever so slightly.

Welp, not the most proactive chapter, I will say that. But it wasn't a bad one either. It was mostly meant to show off the new clothes for everyone, as well as having some interactions with Route 29. Now yes, Route 29 is rather short in the actual games, but for this story, going through one Route would take some time before the group can actually reach a town.

Now to be clear, the egg team Deku is carrying is NOT Togepi. I'm sorry if that disappoints some of you since I myself like Togekiss, but for the sake of the story, it will be different. You guys can guess which Pokemon it is, but I will keep it a secret.

As for Mina and Tenya catching Weedle and Rookidee, I felt those Pokemon would be fitting for them(plus, I will say that I am a Corviknight fanboy). Trust me, the others will be able to catch at least one or two more Pokemon prior to the first gym. However, I will say that certain Pokemon will appear at random, so they won't be what you'll expect from the games like Spearow or Caterpie. I felt that would be interesting. But to be clear.

NO LEGENDARY POKEMON FOR ANYONE.

But anyways, I hope everyone is doing okay with how COVID is slowly dying down. We're almost there, people.
