Set at the end of S24 E02 Shadowstalker after Kezia breaks down after her encounter with Mallory and her insistence that she is 'fine'.

Mickey had been waiting for at least ten minutes, his eyes were burning with the grit of nightshift. God, he wanted to go home but he couldn't leave. Not yet. Not until he'd spoken to Kezia. Not unless he wanted those screams to haunt him when he tried to sleep.

The last time he'd seen her she'd been talking to Manson in the corridor. She'd ducked into the changing room.

And there she still was.

He punched the buttons of the vending machine impatiently, desperate for something to do, something to keep him awake.

She almost collided with his coffee.

"Mickey!"

"Sorry, you okay?"

"Fine!"

She was too cheery; her eyes had that bright just got done crying look. Mickey knew a little something about false pretense to save face.

She went to bypass him.

"Look, it's okay if you're not you know?" he blurted.

"Not what?"

"Okay."

"Would you be asking me if I was Terry?"

"Wot?"

"If I was a man and nearly got attacked, would you be this worried?"

"Yeah I would actually"

"Come off it, Mickey,"

"I.."

"Poor Kezia overpowered by the big bad rapist better make sure she's not going to fall apart".

"That ain't what I'm doing".

"It's exactly what you're doing".

"No, I wanted to check you was alright. That's all. I know-".

"Oh, you know?" Kezia scorned him, " You've nearly been raped, have you?"

Her sarcasm was painful. He felt the fury bubble up inside him. She didn't know how lucky she was.

"You know what, it's late. Forget it."

"Mickey I'm sorry it's been a long night. I'm just sick of everyone asking me if I'm alright."

"Kezia, I 'eard the screams! You was terrified."

"That doesn't mean I'm not fine!"

Mickey sighed and began to walk away. He halted and turned back.

"'Ere," Mickey offered something from his wallet.

"What's this?"

"For when you're not fine."

Kezia glanced down at the card pressed into her hand.
