It's been a while and I feel the need to check in, especially since so many of you have been incredible and checked in with me. If you've clicked in here for an update on the story and you're not interested in an author update, no worries, but this isn't an update for you! I'm sorry if this gave you false hope, but this is purely an update on myself for anyone who would like to know :) I don't have a determined date for when I will be returning because I'm still handling a lot, but that's what the alert emails are for!
Okay, I just wanted to say to so many of you, thank you for your patience, thank you for your kind words, you've all been so lovely and sweet. I feel as though I've definitely connected with so many of you over the years as we've gotten to know each other, and it's been incredible.
As a lot of you know, my mental health has never been the best. Recently I have been diagnosed with severe PTSD, on top of the anxiety and depression that I have, and that has been something that I have been working through. I have been in my job now since I was nineteen and while it is a stable job, it's difficult mentally, and it's one that my doctors and therapists have been recommending I leave for a while now.
After a lot of thought and discussion—mainly on my behalf, because my husband is incredibly supportive and has more faith in me that I would ever have in myself—I am making plans to leave my job some time next year and will be focusing a lot more on my writing, both original work which I will hopefully be able to publish independently one day, but also my fanfiction. I will be looking at setting up a and a Ko-Fi since it will becoming my only source of income, and I'm working now to figure out what the different tiers would look like and what I have to offer, etc etc. If you guys have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. At the moment, I'm thinking early access to chapters, voting on what works to focus on next and old works to re-write, being able to see snippets of things I'm working on, and then there would also be commission slots open.
Anyway, this was just an update. I'm still working full time at the moment, I'm still dealing with a lot, I've actually recently only just managed to avoid surgery and I may need to have it in a couple of months time which won't be fun, but...That's okay.
