Chapter 3. Mud.
Hope stuffed the phone into the back pocket of her jeans and almost ran for the exit. She opened the door, stepped over the threshold without looking, and crashed into someone.
"Hi!"
The girl looked up at the man. He took her by the shoulders and gave her the same shy, malicious smile as beforeā¦
"What? You're the only one missing here..." Hope sighed.
It was Ryan Clarke.
"I see you're not interested in me," Clarke said and released the girl's shoulders, walked around her and into the school hall. The girl turned, looked at the back of the retreating man, but realized that the most important thing now was to close this "door". Never know who else will pass. She cast a restraining spell, but the man continued to move. She started to say something else. The man turned to the girl. Hope covered her mouth with her hand, and the man repeated the same thing. The girl took her hand away and smiled, and the man repeated it.
"Do you remember?" the girl grinned.
"I remember," the man grinned.
The girl went to the man, and he went to her. When they came in close the girl put her hand on his shoulder, he on hers. She closed her eyes and began to whisper something in Latin. The man smiled and looked at the lock of hair that had fallen over the girl's face. He removed his hand from her shoulder, touched her face lightly, and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. The girl looked up at him in surprise.
"Your magic doesn't work on me," he said with a malicious smile, then turned and walked down the hall of the school.
