Zero

The One Who is Many

By King Malik

Note (Please Read Before Proceeding): Before you begin reading this, I would like to let you know that this story is a little of an AU, and I imagine a different version of Godzilla 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong that takes place before this - I also imagine a different design for Ghidorah as well. Not only that, but they are a much more skilled fighter. Any recognizable characters, places, or things are made and rightfully owned by Toho and Legendary.

Prologue

Blood. . . . The blood of the three kings plagued the rivers and rode every stream to the heart. All who drank from the canals shall be poisoned with their strength, and die ever so slowly. The pain they feel as they die is the same pain they felt when they died. Every wound they endured, every bleeding pulse, and second their heart gave out is what all of them felt when they struggled to stay alive. In a matter of weeks, all beaches, riversides, banks, and coastlines, were populated with corpses, giving rise to a new kind of breed.

The air echoed with golden electrical currents, the red water meeting up in one spot, the dust formatting a figure towering many miles above all who were below. This happened in a large field of grass, greenery, and trees. The sky filled with clouds, but still casted light down upon the place of rebirth. The blood in the streams ran into one another to bring the cells to construct a beating heart. It pounded faster and faster, the electricity combining with it. The heart grew veins, tubes to bring more blood to the organs; the lungs, the stomach, the intestines, three brains, and others. Then the electricity became a part of the blood, building the marrow of bones to help the kings stand. They were surrounded by the blood becoming muscle, to help the bones shield the organs from an impact. The dust became a part of it as well, shaping the final appearance of the kings, giving them the golden scales all shall remember the figure as terror among all monsters and men.

The figure of the three kings stood up to the clouds, the final droplets of blood, electricity, and dust coming together, then a flash of light, followed by dead silence. The trees, flowers, the grass, bushes and shrubs stayed still for a long moment. Then there was a giant gust of wind, then silence, then another strong wind, silence, and another wind, again silence. It was not the powerful breeze from the clouds above, but the breathing of the three kings. They stood in place for a long moment, taking in the realization that they have come back to life by their own will, their body almost entirely covered in their own blood. All had thought they were obliterated in battle, but their essence stayed on and in the ground, poisoning the earth with their ichor and cells, soon to come again four years later when they regained consciousness in death.

The first opened his eyes to scan the surroundings. They had awakened again in a beautiful grassy plain, the clouds towering overhead. The second opened his eyes to realize what was happening. He too noticed the plane, then his brother to his left. They eyed each other but did not move their heads. The first looking at his sibling with his eyes far to the right. The third opened his eyes to see the life they had reentered, then noticed the clouds becoming darker with every passing moment. He turned to his siblings, and knew that they were back.

They stood up, shaking the ground and blowing wind as they did so. They saw the greenery around them, and all admitted it was a beautiful sight . . . but also knew that soon it all will be a part of their Kingdom. Rain began to fall down upon them, starting soft, then becoming harder as they recalled who they were.

. . . I am Zero. The last to be born of my kindred species.

. . . I am Azazel. We fall upon those in battle, our fathers knew we would, which is why we are the Fallen Star.

. . . I am X. Named after our father's title, showing that we are the rightful heir to their throne.

Their massive wings seemed to spread for miles. Their legs planted firmly on the ground to stand above all. Their eyes a sadistic red. Their mouths building thunder inside. King Zero, Azazel, and X Ghidorah lived again. To prove so, they raised their heads to the sky, blasting golden electricity, roaring their powerful scream as they did so for a long while . . . .
