Chapter 9

I never backed down from your fathers . . . I never turned my back on you, or them. I failed your mothers . . . I won't fail you . . . .

Gigan

King Zero, Azazel, and X Ghidorah were walking around the castle, up and around the mountains, looking for the one who had helped their fathers keep them safe. The monster has been known to have pledged to the kingdom ever since their fathers became the new leaders.

It is written that when another creature from a different species or planet would want to join the Kingdom of Lamented Kings, they must promise to serve under the Kings of All Stars' names, and fight alongside them in all battles. No matter how brutal, violent, or dangerous the fights may be, turning your back is never an option. The Kings were taught this as soon as they learned to walk, and if they were to go against that rule . . . they would be betraying their kind, their land, their fathers . . . and their mothers.

This monster helped them to train when their fathers had to deal with problems in the domain, and through these sessions, not only have they become good allies . . . but friends as well. They wanted to find it, to thank it, to remember the warrior with knives for hands, a saw in its chest and stomach, one red eye, and the final phase of what the humans call MUTO.

Lightning boomed above them, more violently now, and King Ghidorah stood at the entrance to the castle. They decided to sit and rest for now, then find the warrior later. The storms emanated a calming feeling for them. They came home, they found their fathers, the kingdom for them to rule, and in time . . . they will be . . . triumphant.

Footsteps sounded from their right, and they turned to see the warrior. Time had aged the great fighter, but still looked to be in its prime. The kings remembered when they were younger, they asked the warrior why half of its skin was torn off, but was given the reply that they should not know about that situation, but felt remorse for what happened to the fighter. They felt sorry that the warrior was living in torture for its entire life, thriving with almost no skin, and one arm. King Ghidorah stood up and greeted the kingdom's old friend, the one who is named . . . Gigan.

. . . Great warrior . . . we thank you for your service . . . for being our allies.

Pleasure . . . shall be rewarded to me once death comes.

You do not deserve to feel this pain.

I have fought with your fathers for many years . . . I will not back down now.

How have our fathers been these past million years?

. . . Lost in their soul all over again. But with your return . . . I believe they will find peace. Even in war . . . My Liege.

Gigan bowed in all its loyalty to the sons of the Kings of All Stars, and they looked back at it. Not to see it as a servant . . . but as a friend who never left their side.
