Chapter 16

The Claws of Red Moon

A few weeks went by, and almost the entire world was covered in snow from mid December. Deep in the ground, a few miles under the Gotengo Research Center, workers were trying to repair the Roaring Heaven as much as they could. The machine was dented, burnt, and full of large teeth marks. Parts of the hull had to be removed, while some had to be replaced, which took time, effort, and injuries.

Dr. Owens and Lennox exited the elevator and looked for their boss. They needed to tell him about what Ghidorah had been doing for the past few days, and the update about the sudden blood moon - both conversations were not good in any way.

"Mr. Atragon," Remington announced.

Kaspar looked up from where he was working, saw the two scientists below, and walked down to talk with them.

"Yes?" He said.

"There is something you need to know," Owens started. "Right now, King Ghidorah is settling in Canada. They are not very active right now, but we predict they will do something soon. Every other Titan around the world can not be tracked whatsoever, it's as if they all disappeared off the face of the earth. But the blood moon has been acting up a lot lately. We noticed every day it seems to be getting closer to the earth, like it's being controlled to do so, and the figure that has been sighted there is real, and we highly believe it is one of the greatest enemies of the Gidoran Kingdom: Red Moon."

Atragon thought for a minute. He turned back to the machine and said: " . . . The Roaring Heaven is not half way from repair." He turned to the doctors. "If there is something much greater going on, and if there is a Titan that lives there, then we need to exterminate it . . . before we have to deal with more deaths."

In about an hour, all the construction equipment was removed, then Kaspar Atragon, and the crew were seated in the Gotengo, revving up the engine. Owens and Lennox stood outside and watched as the Roaring Heaven took off through the morning sunlight, past the clouds, and into space.

Surrounded by darkness, and no signs of life anywhere, it seemed as if the crew were the only people in existence right now - it was a miracle that the machine could work outside the atmosphere, let alone fly. Going at one hundred and thirty miles an hour, they flew straight to the moon. Even in space, the moon looked dark red, but also seemed to be glowing, and Kaspar realized it took less time to reach their destination - were the doctors right about the moon somehow getting closer to the earth?

He ordered the pilots to slow the ship down as they cautiously flew over the moon, examining it closely. From his screen, Kaspar could see the surface, and saw that the ground was somehow growing more craters, and the ones that were already there were digging themselves deeper, almost as if the moon itself was alive. Cracks grew on the surface, and something inside them flowed, like blood being pumped throughout the body. Then they came to the dark side of the moon. It felt they were entering a completely different place as the gigantic shadow loomed over the machine.

All sound seemed to fade away when they crossed, and could see nothing in front of them, so they decided to go slower. A few minutes went by, and still nothing happened. That is . . . until they heard a roar. The crew became tense, and more aware of their surroundings. More screaming came, as if whatever was making the noise was chanting something, then total silence fell. Kaspar ordered the pilots to stop the ship, and they halted to a pause and listened, but nothing happened.

Then suddenly, something flew over the ship, rocking it from side to side. It flew over again, much faster, thrusting the Gotengo forward. Kaspar looked at the screen, and saw a large, dark, shadowy figure lunge towards them, shoving the ship out of the dark side of the moon, and knocking it down on the surface. The pilots lifted the Atragon back up, right when the monster was charging at them. Kaspar gave the order to fire at it, and in less than a minute, the Titan was bombarded by ammunition, and they all had the chance to get a good look at what was attacking them.

The monster had four wings; a large spiked tail; sharp talons; long black claws; its chest was ripped open, and they could see its rib cage; it was about as big as the Gotengo itself; it had six horns, two that curved upward, and two that curved downwards; and had dark black eyes.

It roared and blasted a beam of red energy at them, forcing it back, setting the Atragon on fire. In harsh conditions, Kaspar had no other choice but to order the pilots to fly them back to earth, but when they turned, the monster followed them. It lashed its claws, shot more beams, and roared in fury. The Gotengo flew out of the moon's sphere, and the monster watched as it left. But as the machine flew towards earth, the Titan took a deep breath, and blasted a large red beam from its mouth, straight at the Atragon.

The blast knocked the engine off course. Once it reached earth's atmosphere, it fell fast, and started to burn up. The fire got into the hull, and most of the crew were burned alive, while the main deck was erupting in flames. The pilots tried to take control of the ship's movements, but the heat and speed they were going at made them drop their arms, and faint, while the fire consumed them. The Roaring Heaven fell like a shooting star, breaking the sound wave, and landed hard in the bay of New York.

High in the sky, a large storm cloud formed, yellow lightning swarming inside of it, sneaking its way towards space. The blood moon moved closer to the earth, with its Titan, Red Moon, in the lead. The time had come for him to return, to take the world he thought was rightfully his.

As the monster was beginning to enter the earth's atmosphere, he found himself inside a large, dark storm, thriving with golden thunder. He flew farther in, and the silhouette of something large was coming his way. It had yellow scales, red eyes, and was covered in blood. The figure reminded him of Keizer Ghidorah, except this looked a little different creature, but oddly similar. The creature scowled, and let out a roar, and Red Moon glared back at the sons of the Kings of All Stars, King Zero, Azazel, and X Ghidorah.

Both monsters roared and charged hard at one another. Ghidorah's throats built up electricity, and Red Moon's mouth built up red energy. They both flapped harder, and harder, and once they came into impact, they struck.

Everything then seemed to happen in slow motion. Red Moon had slashed a claw, and the kings were knocked back. The left side of their chest was violently ripped open, revealing their rib cage, and a beating heart. Their vision became blurry, their heads going numb, their body going limp. They exited the atmosphere, and were now floating through space.

The storm died down as Red Moon made his way down to the earth, leaving the blood moon right next to the planet, its light beaming down upon every living thing.
