I am so sorry for taking over a year to get this chapter out. I ended up rushing the end because I just didn't want to delay it any longer and I just haven't had the time I use to have.
In Jeremy's room his computer lights up beeping as it attempts to localize a tower. Jeremy awoke and got up to see what was happening. "Huh?" He murmured as the superscan failed to find an activated tower. "Hm, somethings not right here." Jeremy said trying a few codes to investigate caused the computer to begin beeping again. "What do you mean quack?!: He said before taking his glasses off to go lay back down. "An alarm signal and no activated tower. That's weird." He started going back to bed.
In the morning the group was in Jeremy's room, Aelita was standing next to Jeremy looking at his computer screen. "And you're sure about the alarm last night?" Aelita asked. "Not a hundred percent. I was pretty groggy.." Jeremy said. "Weird." Josh said not sure what to make of it. Meanwhile Odd was digging around under Jeremy's desk. "Odd, could you make a little less noise?" Jemery asked. "NO!" Odd said, sticking his head out from under the desk. "If I don't find the DVD of my short film in the next three seconds, I'll turn into a pumpkin." Odd stated upset. "Which short film? 'Natural Grandeur II' or 'I Guess Our Guest is a Ghost?'" Ulrich asked. " I Guess Our Guest is a Ghost. . If you want me to become rich and famous, I absolutely have to give it to TV!" Odd exclaimed. "TV? Who's TV?" Aelita asked while Josh was still looking over Jeremy's shoulder trying to see if he could understand what might be happening. "H-his real name is Thomas Vincent. But everybody calls him…TV. Because…he's a famous news reporter on TV." Odd said getting out from under the table, "TV, get it?!" He added just before Yumi opened the door, "TV's gonna be here in five minutes." She said to the rest of the group. "My career is nipped in the bud!" Odd stated,dramatically falling to his knees before he noticed his DVD on the table. "Yes! Fame, fortune and glory are mine!" He said getting up and heading for the door.
Meanwhile, TV pulled up in his sports car near the back of the gym, and proceeded to walk to the Administration building where Jim opened the door for him. TV walked into the door then Mr. Delmas began to speak. "My dear TV, on behalf of the students and faculty, we're very honored that you uh-" he said before TV cut him off. "Ok, ok, no big deal. Uh, time is money." TV stated causing Mr. Delmas to look down abit as a woman with a camera came in. "Uhh, this is Edna, my camera…uh…woman. Person. Whatever. Never on time!" TV said. "Show up late one more time and you're finished! I've got a hundred and fifty cameramen who'd kill for a chance to work with TV." He added in a threatening tone before looking at Jim. "You, sweatshirt. Park my car out of sight from the kids, I don't want them scratching it." He said, tossing his keys at Jim's face before they fell into Jim's hand.
Meanwhile most of the lyoko warriors were all in class with Ms. Hertz. Many of the students looked like they were not paying any attention. "Now, let's continue with our study of plant life. After our field trip last week, I asked you to calculate the yield of the field of corn that we visited. Now, who can give me the answer?" Ms. Hertz asked, looking around the room slowly. Nicolas slightly feel asleep making his head land on his open book. "Poliakoff?" Ms. Hertz asked seeing that he was not paying attention. "Wha-?! …Yeah? O-one thousand, five hundred and twenty-seven tons." Nicolas answered after flipping around in his book. "Really Nicolas?" She asked. "Well done. You've solved the problem of world hunger." She said sarcastically, causing the other students to laugh. "Quiet down." She said before TV barged into the room without knocking or even asking. "Give me a panorama shot of the kids." TV said to Edna. "Can I help you?" Ms. Hertz asked, mildly annoyed with the disruption to her teaching. "Yes. Get out of the shot." TV said before walking past here towards Jemery's table. "Do our schools still provide a future for our youth? Faced with the teachers' lax attitudes, we have reason to doubt." He said while walking. "To see how bad it's become, all you need to do is pick out a student at random and ask him his grade point average." He continued before stopping in front of Jeremy. "You, for instance." He said motioning towards Jeremy. "Ninety-nine point eighty-seven out of a hundred." Jeremy replied, causing TV to be a bit stunned. "Eh? Ok, cut! That's too high." He stated, tailing off some. Looking for someone with a failing grade point average he asked "Who here has a below sixty average?" And multiple students raised their hands but TV picked Odd. "Ok, son! So you're flunking out of school, right?" TV asked in his report voice. "Me? N-not exactly. On the other hand… I have this great DVD to show you!" Odd said, holding up his DVD laughing nervously. "Oh, this cannot be happening! What's with this bunch of kids?" TV said looking annoyed. Just after that the bell rang for the end of class causing all the kids to cheer and leave.
As Ulrich, Aelita, Odd, Jeremy and Josh walked out of the Science Building on their way out of class. "I'm so disgusted. TV didn't even want to see my masterpiece" Odd stated bitterly. "Is that what it means to be a starving artist?" Aelita asked, causing the group to laugh a bit. Just then the super scan went off on Jeremy's laptop. "Oh, No!" Jeremy said pulling his laptop out of his bag. "What?" Aelita asked. "The alarm. Xana has gone on the attack." He replied. "I will warn Yumi." Ulrich said, getting out his phone. "Well I sure hope this goes quickly, because I don't want to miss today's meatballs and gravy!" Odd said. "Always thinking about food." Josh commented as they began heading toward the factory. "What? We haven't had that for ages!" Odd stated as they walked.
Yumi met up with the others at the factory. Jeremy began the virtualization process."Transfer Yumi, Transfer Odd, Transfer Ulrich." Jeremy said starting the process. "Scanner Yumi, Scanner Odd, Scanner Ulrich. Virtualization" He continued reading out what he was doing. The three of them virtualized into the Mountain Sector. "Okay Aelita and Josh you're next." Jeremy said while they waited for the scanners to open again. "Transfer Aelita, Transfer Josh, Scanner Aelita, Scanner Josh, Virtualization" Jeremy stated finishing up the virtualization process. Josh and Aelita appear with the others and began running towards the tower.
In the lab the computer began to beep warning Jeremy of a group of Hornets that had appeared. "Watch it. You've got company!" Jeremy stated over the mic. "Aelita, stay behind me!" Yumi said, running in front of Aeltia and taking out her fans. Ulrich and Josh both readied their swords to fight them. As they continued forward eight hornets came out of the sky firing at them before splitting into groups of two to continue their assault on the group, mostly leaving Aelita alone. "Everyone bring their insecticide?!" Odd asked jokingly as he avoided the laser fire.
One group of hornets began their attack on Ulrich swooping down firing in sweeps. As this happened he managed to deflect the lasers back at one of them destroying it. Meanwhile the other hornets were also attacking the others. Odd managed to destroy one of his but was also hit. Yumi was running along dodging the lasers until she got to a point where the path broke up and there were gaps. She jumped up and spun deflecting lasers as she flew through the air, destroying one of them. She landed on the next platform still spinning, almost going off the edge.
Shortly after this the hornets stopped fighting them and flew away quickly. "Buncha Chickens!" Odd yelled, shaking his fist. "Weird! I guess XANA's not up to snuff today." Yumi stated. "Something seems off here." Josh said. "Well weird or not, it's better for us, because…we have something waiting for us." Odd added smiling. "Meatballs and gravy!". The group headed for the tower. "Well, my lady, your tower is served." Odd said gesturing towards the tower. "Aelita! Wait. Look!" Yumi said pointing at the tower. "The tower is deactivating itself!" She added. "What does that mean, Jeremie?" Aelita asked, confused. "I wish I knew…!" Jeremy replied.
"Another tower just activated in the Forest sector." Jeremy said as he was getting ready to devirtualize them. "What?! It just deactivated itself again. What's going on here?" He added. "You think it's a bug in the Supercomputer?" Aelita asked, worried. "Or maybe another plot by Xana?" Odd asked. "I don't know. But I am going to devirtualize you." Jeremy said beginning the process for Aelita,Yumi and Odd. "Jeremy, I want to stay here and check out the tower. Maybe I can find something." Josh said. "Okay. Sounds like a plan." Jeremy said as he then devirtualized Ulrich. "Head to lunch. I'll stay here with Josh and try to work all this out. If anything happens, I'll give you a shout." Jeremy said typing. "I'll stay with you. With the three of us working, it'll go faster." Aelita said, putting her hand on Jeremy's back. On lyoko Josh walked to the tower and entered it before going to the top and trying to find some information on what was going on.
Meanwhile Odd ,Ullrich and Yumi went back to school to have lunch. As they were waiting in line TV cut in front of them and got his. After Rosa put some food on TV's tray he commented "What's with these little mini-servings? Come on, Cookie. Don't be shy! (clicks fingers) Load up the meatballs!" In which she put some more on his tray. "Lemme tell ya – sure is no picnic being a field reporter." He said as he walked away to sit and eat. Rosa then served Odd. "Wait, what! Where's all the meatballs?" Odd asked. "On TV's tray" Rosa stated. Just then TV was overheard complaining that the food was awful.
Outside the Gym Sissi,Nicolas and Herb were looking at TV's car. "Any guy who had wheels like this I'd go out with in a heartbeat!" Sissi said, running her finger against the side of TV's car. "Ok, I'm outta here. I'm starving." Nicolas said, walking away.
Meanwhile at the factory Aelita and Jeremy were going over system checks on the supercomputer while Josh was investigating how the tower deactivated itself. "Jeremy, something is off about this. It seems like my father just decided to stop activating the tower. It doesn't appear that he was forced to deactivate it" Josh said typing on the terminal in the tower. "That is weird." Jeremy said just as another tower activated. "It's starting up again. Should I tell the others?" Aelita asked, noticing the superscan go off. "Hang on. It might deactivate itself again." Jeremy told her. "Josh, another tower has been activated in the ice sector. Can you go check it out?" He asked. "Sure. Just virtualize me a vehicle." Josh said exiting the tower he was in. "Okay, one Overwing coming up" Jeremy said programming Josh the Overwing while he continued to check sub-systems with Aelita.
Suddenly purple electricity surged across the satellite equipment on a building in the city before shooting up into the sky, causing the clouds in the sky to turn dark and stormy.
Meanwhile the rest of the gang were eating lunch and it began to snow. "Hey Look!" Ulrich said, noticing the snow. "What" Yumi said. "It's Snowing." He replied pointing outside. Everyone in the cafeteria turned to look in surprise and excitement. They all started cheering and laughing. "Calm down, everyone. Stay in your seats." Jim said, trying to control the situation, but instead of listening most of the students ended up outside playing in the snow.
Back at the lab Jeremy had just finished checking all the subsystems of the supercomputer. "Jeremy, the tower its still active." Aelita said. "Uh-oh. Bad news. Maybe this time XANA really is attacking!" He replied. "Josh, any update on the tower." He asked. "Yeah, this is weird tho. There are no monsters around that I can see." Josh replied. "Virtualize Aelita and we can get this deactivated before the attack even starts." Josh added just before a laser came out of nowhere and launched him off of the Overwing. Causing him to fall towards the digital sea. "Josh, I am devirtualizing you now!" Jeremy said quickly typing, managing to devirtualize him moments before impact with the digital sea. Josh made his way up to the lab. "Jeremy you have to re-virtualize me and sent Aelita in to deactivate that tower." Josh said. "No can do. I had to tell the devirtualization program to not save your virtual envelope to get you devirtualized quick enough. So you can't go back to Lyoko until it's recompiled, somewhere between 6 and 12 hours." Jeremy stated. (Authors Note: I am setting up my own lore for the 12 hour between virtualizations thing that was started in Code Lyoko: Evolution. I am thinking that if your devirtualized by damage or without preserving some data (say for a quick devirtualization) the super computer has to rebuild that data and it takes time.)
Jeremy called Yumi and informed her that Xana was attacking and suddenly picked up and the temperature plunged, causing everyone to rush into the school building. 'We have to get to Lyoko" Yumi said to Odd and Ulrich. "Yeah and I bet the weather's better there." Odd said. Yumi called Jeremy back. "Jeremy, we're stuck at the school because of the blizzard.". "A nightmare, Xana's back to his old self." Jeremy said before Yumi hung up.
When the blizzard began Sissi and Herb got into TV's car, and Herb started it to keep them warm. Sissi picked up a CD and put it into the radio and it began to play the Subsonics.
In the school Jim handed TV a hat. "Here Mr. TV this will keep your hair in place." He said. "Very good, Mrs. Hertz. You did well to take the children safely to the basement of the science building." Mr. Demlas said on the phone. "Look, Mister Delmas. I found the weather station. I got this free with my Sumo Mag subscription." Jim said, shoving his weather station in his face. "Up there, it shows the temperature outside – uh, it's four degrees below zero. And down here…shooows…the temperature in here! Thirty-seven." Jim said, shivering a bit. "Thirty-seven degrees?! Come on. Let's go down to the boiler room." Mr. Delams said, opening the door. "Ok, everybody!" Jim said, waving to everyone to follow them down. Once in the basement, Edna was filming everyone as Delmas was setting the boiler on maximum. "Edna, stop wasting film! An unbelievable deep freeze has taken hold of the city, and what are you shooting?" TV said. "People expect SPECTACULAR TV, from TV! So let's get out of this RATHOLE, and go where the action is: THE CITY!" He added. "Not with me" Edna replied. "Oh, Yeah? FINE! YOUR FIRED" TV said, grabbing the camera from her. "Can't have cold feet on this job." He added walking towards the door. "You can't go outside, it's forty below out there!" Jim said, stopping him. "My car keys?" TV asked, holding out his hand. "I think I left them in the ignition." Jim replied. "IDIOT!" TV stated leaving the room.
"Did you hear that? Forty below. And there's no reason for XANA to stop there." Ulrich said to Odd and Yumi. "The only solution is to deactivate the tower on Lyoko. But if we go out, we'll end up as…ice sculptures!" Odd replied. "We have to try. We'll sneak out of here and search the rooms for warmer gear, and then, we'll run over to the factory." Yumi told them both.
While Odd,Yumi and Ulrich were looking for warmer gear, Sissi and Herb were still in TV's car trying to keep warm, when TV opened the door. "What do you think you're doing IN MY CAAAR?! GET OUT OF HEEERE!" He said, angry. "Hey! You're not gonna leave us in this blizzard, are you?!" Sissi asked, shivering. "Fine. I'll drop you off. Get in the back, and don't get my soft leather seats dirty. Got it?" He said. Shortly after he began to drive having a hard time controlling the car.
As TV's car was fishtailing around as he drove, Odd, Ulrich and Yumi exited the building making their way to the factory. Before long the TV ran into a tree. "Did you see that?" Ulirch asked, pointing towards the area. "We gotta go and help 'em." Yumi said and the group began to make their way there.
Meanwhile in the basement one of the students asked Jim how cold it was. "F-fifty-eight degrees below zero outside, t-twenty-three degrees in here!" Jim said, visibly shaking while Delmas looked stunned.
In the Lab Jeremy,Aelita and Josh watched the local news. "A deadly cold snap has hit the city, which was buried under ice and snow in a matter of minutes. The authorities have put the emergency cold weather plan into action…" A reporter said. "Oh, no…!" Jeremy gasped. "…but chaos has broken out nonetheless. Telephone lines-" The reporter continued before the audio and video became distorted before going to static.
Back in the cold, and Yumi were helping Sissi,Herb and TV out of the car. "I-i-it wasn't fault. It was the p-p-power s-steering, I…" TV said shivering mimicking holding a steering wheel. "Yeah, right. Why don't you make yourself useful in the meantime? Get Sissi and Herb into the boiler room, fast!" Yumi said with anger in her voice. "Now that's authority!" Odd said just as the tree began to creak. "Ulrich! Look out!" Yumi yelled, shoving him out of the way of the falling tree. The tree instead fell on Yumi pinning her in place under it. "Yumi!" Ulrich gasped seeing her under the tree. "And this is why I like bonsais better." Yumi said. "We'll get you out of there." Urlich said motioning for Odd to try and help him push the tree off of her. "One…two…three…" Ulrich counted before trying to push. "Forget it. It's much too heavy. Go to the factory. That's more important." Yumi said. "We just can't leave her here! She won't last long in this cold!" Odd stated. "Ok. Y-you get to Lyoko. I-I'll stay here with her." Ulrich said before Odd began to make his way to the factory.. "Hang in there. I'm gonna go and look for something…to get you out of there." Urlich told Yumi before starting to head to the shed.
Back in the factory, Aelita was talking to Josh and Jeremy. "We have no choice, you have to send me to Lyoko" Aelita said. "But that's exactly what XANA's waiting for, Aelita. For you to go to Lyoko alone, so he can steal your memory!" Jeremy replied worried. "If someone doesn't go and deactivate that tower, Ulrich, Yumi and Odd will die of cold! And the entire city with them!" Aelita replied back. "Yeah, I guess you're right… I'll launch the virtualisation process." Jeremy said. "Jeremy, I wish there was something I could do." Josh said worried. "Josh, you did everything you could do at the time. It's fine." Jeremy replied as he began virtualizing Aelita.
Back in the forest, Ulrich had gotten a chain from the shed and tried to use it to lift the tree but the chain began to freeze up and slipped out of his hand making him land face first into the snow.
Meanwhile Odd was halfway to the factory just starting to cross the bridge outside the factory.
Meanwhile on Lyoko Aelita was approaching the tower. "Look out, Aelita. Hornets on the way." Jeremy said seeing the monsters on this screen. "I can't see anything for now." Aeltia responded before a shadow of a Manta appeared over her. "They're not Hornets…they're Flying Mantas!" Aelita gasped. "Huh?! But…! They never leave Sector 5…!" Jeremy said. Josh looked over concerned. "We have to face facts. XANA is getting more and more powerful!" Jeremy replied as Aelita turned about face to try and avoid getting attacked. As soon as she did she noticed the Scyphozoa waiting for her.
Meanwhile on campus Jim got the boiler running as hot as it would go. "Well, That's it." Jim said causing Mr. Delmas looked worried and concerned.
Aelita turned around to try and escape the Scyphozoa when the Mantas began to drop flying mines blocking her path. Aeltia then turned around again and began heading straight for the Scyphozoa. "Aelita, what are you doing?! You're going straight at the Scyphozoa!" Jeremy yelled in shock. On lyoko Aelita used her creativity to make a ramp allowing her to jump over the Scyphozoa but she fell off at the landing and the overbike slid away from her.
Odd had just reached the elevator and began to make his way down ice visibly hanging from him. When he reached the lab he fell over and landed on the floor. "Josh help Odd down to the scanners." Jeremy said worried about Aelita.
On lyoko Aeltia was running from the Scyphozoa which then reached out and grabbed a hold of her. Moments later Josh had put Odd into the scanner and Jeremy virtualized him as close as he could to her.
"Oh, no…more ice!" Odd said before jumping onto the Overwing that Jeremy had materialized next to him. He began to shoot at the Scyphozoa as soon as he was able to see it.
Meanwhile Yumi was trying to get Ulrich just to leave her to save himself and the others in the boiler room were getting cold enough that they began to fall down.
Back on Lyoko after the Scyphozoa took a few hits it dropped Aelita and Odd helped her up onto his OverBoard. "Can I drop you off at the next activated tower, perhaps?" Odd asked jokingly. "I wouldn't say no." Aeltia replied as they headed for the tower only for their way to be blocked by the Manta's dropping flying mines. While Odd was moving around getting past the mines the Mantas began to shoot at them before one came down and headed right towards them allowing Odd to shoot it causing it to crash into the flying mines creating an opening to the tower.
Once they made it to the tower Aeltia hurried in and deactivated it. "Jeremy, launch a return to the past. Yumi is in trouble!" Odd said.
The return to the past rewound the day to right before Xana began his primary attack.
I hope to have the next chapter out a lot sooner than this one took. Since I actually have a plan for it I think it should go quickly.
