Interrupted Training

Lee chuckled as Iida, the newly appointed class representative, grumbled about the bus's open layout, benches running along the sides of the bus rather than in rows, ruining his plan to have them board in two orderly lines. At the same time, the guy with the red hair and the hardening Quirk, Eijiro, was talking about wanting a flashier Quirk to be a pro easier.

"My navel laser has the perfect combination of panache and strength," the obviously gay guy whose name Lee couldn't be bothered to learn said.

"But it's way lame if it gives you a stomach ache, sweaty," Mina shot him down, seated between the gay guy and Lee.

Lee smirked. She was right.

"Well, if any of our classmates have pro Quirks, it's Todoroki, Lee, and Bakugo," Eijiro said.

"My Quirk's not pro material," Lee said. "I'm just fast."

"Don't sell yourself short," Momo, the newly appointed assisstant class rep, who got two more votes than Iida, said, seated on Lee's other side. "You could easily make it as a pro hero with your speed. And calling yourself 'fast' doesn't really do your Quirk credit."

"Yaoyorozu's right," Eijiro said. "Your Quirk's amazing!"

Lee sighed. He wished people would stop saying that about his curse. They didn't understand.

"You know, if you want us to stop telling you how amazing your Quirk is, you should tell us why it's not," Momo pointed out.

Lee remained silent, so the frog girl, who wanted everyone to call her Su, spoke instead.

"Well, out of the three, Only Todoroki will be popular because Lee won't accept the fame, and Bakugo's always angry, so he'll never be that popular," Su said.

"What did you say!?" Bakugo demanded. "I'll kick your ass!"

"See?" Su asked, pointing at him.

"You know we basically just met you, so it's kind of telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage," the blond guy with the electricity powers, Denki, pointed out.

"You're going to regret the day that I applied to this school, you loser!" Bakugo shouted.

"Enough!" Iida said, standing up and trying to stop the argument.

"This is such a disgusting conversation," Momo said.

"Eh, it's not so bad," Lee said. "They haven't brought up feces or body parts yet."

"Plus it's kind of fun listening to them fight," Uraraka said from the other side of Momo from Lee.

"Hey, hey, we're here," Aizawa finally called out. "Stop messing around."

"Yes sir," the class responded.

They were on their way to a training facility where they'd be conducting rescue training, as opposed to combat training. After a few minutes, they were off the bus and being given the pre-training brief about rescue work by a space-suit-wearing, rescue-specializing heroine named Thirteen. Her Quirk was to pull things into a black hole and crush it into dust.

"I created this facility to help prepare you to deal with disasters," Thirteen finished her opening speech. "I call it, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint! But you can all call it the U.S.J."

Just like Universal Studios Japan, Lee thought, having a sneaking suspicion everyone else was thinking something similar.

Lee looked around and frowned. All Might was supposed to be there to help train them as well.

"Clock's ticking," Aizawa said after having a brief, and very quiet, conversation with Thirteen.

"Excellent," Thirteen said. "Before we begin, let me just say one thing. Well, maybe two things. Possibly three, or four, or five."

"We get it!" the class said.

"Listen carefully," Thirteen said. "I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."

"Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" Midoriya asked, Uraraka nodding enthusiastically beside him.

"That's true, but my Quirk could also very easily be used to kill," Thirteen said, her eyes narrowing inside her helmet. "Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhero society, all Quirks are certified and stringently regulated, so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly, even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your Quirk's potential. And thanks to All Might's combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people. Carry those lessons over to this class. Today, you're going to learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others. That's all I have to say." She bowed, holding her right arm across her torso and the other out to her side. "Thank you so much for listening."

Everyone began to cheer.

"Right, now that that's over-" Aizawa stopped as electricity ran around the rings of lights on the inside of the facility's dome, shutting them out.

A fountain in the center of the facility began to sputter, and a portal opened in front of it, a swirling circle of darkness, which expanded into a silhouette just as Aizawa began to turn. A hand reached out of it, gripping the silhouette like it was solid, despite being made out of darkness with a pair of glowing yellow eyes. As he stepped through, Lee and the others saw that he had disconnected hands covering him. One on top of his head, one on his face, three per arm, two around his neck, two on his shoulders, and two on his sides just under his ribs. It looked freakish.

"Stay together and don't move!" Aizawa said as more villains began to step through. "Thirteen, protect the students!"

"Whoa, what is that thing?" Eijiro asked, staring at the guy with the hands all over his body.

"He's a freak," Lee said, stepping up beside Aizawa. "I can help."

"No," Aizawa said. "You're not ready."

"I'm faster than anyone in this room!" Lee argued. "And besides that, that guy killed my father!"

"I know!" Aizawa snapped. "I read your file. But you're not ready for this, no matter how fast you are! You do have skill, and you have a lot of potential, but you're not ready for this. Help Thirteen protect the others."

"Has the training started already?" Eijiro asked. "I thought we were rescuing people."

"Stay back!" Aizawa snapped as Midoriya stepped forward, making him freeze, Aizawa pulling his goggles on. "This is real. Those are villains."

Everyone gasped in fear, shrinking back slightly.

"If the alarms aren't going off, someone either disabled them all, or there's someone hiding their presence," Lee said, extending the arms of his exoskeleton. "Good luck."

"You too," Aizawa said. "Keep them safe."

"With my life," Lee nodded.

"The only real heroes I see here are Thirteen and Eraser Head," a deep voice said from the shadowy silhouette. "According to the schedule we retrieved from U.A. yesterday, All Might should be here as well."

Lee clenched his fists remembering the chaos from the day before. Press had somehow broken onto school grounds and caused a panic, only for Iida to step up and calm everyone, letting them know it was only the press. It was immediately after class elections, which Midoriya originally won. After the incident, he relinquished his spot as class rep to Iida, which is how Iida became class rep over Momo, who had two votes to Iida's zero.

"So, you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneaked onto campus," Aizawa surmised.

"Where is he?" the freak with the hands covering him asked. "I went through the trouble of bringing so many friends who are eager to meet him. They want All Might. The great Symbol of Peace. I can't believe he's not here. Maybe if I kill a few kids he'll come out to play."

Aizawa's scarf, which was made out of metal fibers to make it unbreakable, came to life suddenly, unravelling and preparing to be used in a fight. Lee Took a steadying breath, lightning flashing from his eyes a few inches and the glow of the light on top of his exoskeleton's spine growing brighter for a moment.

"Everyone stay close together," Lee warned. "Thirteen, we need to leave."

"There's no way those are real villains, right?" Eijiro asked. "How could so many of them get into a U.A. facility this secure?"

"Yeah, Thirteen, why aren't the alarms going off?" Momo asked.

"It's like Lee guessed before," Aizawa said. "Someone's likely masking their presence from the alarms using a Quirk."

"Is the entire campus under attack?" Todoroki asked. "Or is this their only target? Either way, they carefully chose this out of the way facility as an entry point at a time when a class was being taught here. They're fools for breaking in here, but they've thought this out. Whatever their plan, they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?"

"All Might," Lee said. "I thought I caught the shadow saying something about it before. His voice carrys pretty well. They came for All Might. They came here specifically, because this is where he was supposed to be right now."

"You're most likely right," Aizawa said. "Thirteen, Lee, get them out of here and alert the main campus. Actually, if they're jamming our sensors, then they might be jamming our regular comms too. Kaminari, try to use your Quirk to contact the school."

"Yes sir," Denki said, holding a hand to a white device with an antenna on the right side of his head, over his ear.

"What are you going to do?" Midoriya asked. "You can't fight them on your own! There's too many of them. Even if you can nullify their Quirks, your fighting style's not suited for this. Your power works best in stealth and one-on-one fights. It's not going to help with a group."

"You can't be a pro if you only have one trick," Aizawa said. "I'll leave it to you, Thirteen."

Thirteen nodded and Aizawa leapt forward off the stairs, grabbing his scarf. Lee turned to the others and he and Thirteen quickly got everyone moving toward the exit. Midoriya paused to watch Aizawa fight, but Iida called out to him and got him moving again. However, before they could reach the door, the Silhouette rose in front of them.

"There is no escape for you," the silhouette said, drawing himself up. "It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the League of Villains. I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say 'Hello.' And besides, isn't this a fitting place for All Might, the Symbol of Peace, to take his last breath?"

"I knew it," Lee said, stepping around Mina, who was between Toru and Momo right now. "You are crazy enough to challenge All Might."

"That's right," the silhouette said. "I believe he was supposed to be here today, but I don't see him. There must have been some change in plans we could not have foreseen. Ah, well, in the end I suppose it doesn't matter." Darkness unfurled from him like a pair of huge wings. "I still have a role to play."

Eijiro and Bakugo leapt at him suddenly, and Lee swore. Idiots. He wouldn't be affected by physical attacks. Lee could tell that at a glance. Their attacks struck, Bakugo's being a massive explosion, but the silhouette was fine, reforming instantly, this time with a metal collar around his neck, open down the middle.

"You live up to your school's reputation," the silhouette said. "But next time, you should be more careful, children. Otherwise, someone might get hurt."

"You two, get out of the way right now!" Thirteen ordered.

"I'll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades, and your deaths!" the silhouette said, its darkness surging outward at them.

Lee swore, spinning and grabbing Mina under one arm and Toru under the other, ignoring where his hand ended up by accident, then launched himself forward with only a low speed boost, crashing into Momo, all four of them flying away from the silhouette, only for its darkness to surge around in front of them, all four passing into it. Lee instantly lost his equilibrium, clenching his teeth and fighting his nausea back as he held on tightly to Toru and Mina, who were screaming and clinging to him, Momo having her arms around all three. Then, they were falling. Lee looked down and flipped just in time to take the brunt of the landing on the solid rock of the mountain zone Thirteen had mentioned before. All three girls bounced away from him, picking themselves up quickly as Lee groaned, struggling to regain his equilibrium.

"Lee!" Mina gasped, she and Toru kneeling to either side of him. "Are you okay?"

"Fine," Lee groaned. "Toru, sorry about earlier."

"Oh, uh, i-it's fine!" Toru stammered her tone so embarrassed that Lee could imagine a blush hovering in the air. "But, we need you to get up!"

Lee looked around as villains began to close in on them. And they weren't alone. The girl with the headphone jack earlobes was there, as was Denki. Momo produced a bo staff for herself from her right palm as she grew the girl with the headphone jacks a short ninjato. Then, she held the staff out to Lee.

"Can you fight?" she asked.

"Yeah," Lee nodded, gripping the staff and allowing her to pull him up with it. "Toru, Mina, you two have the least offensive power, so I want you both in the middle of the group. Mina, your acid is for ranged support."

"Got it," both nodded, the others forming a circle around the two with Lee.

"Try not to go far," Momo said.

"I'm not going anywhere," Lee said. "You three were my first friends at this school, and you're still my best friends. No one's hurting you three while I'm here. I want to be a hero to protect those I hold dear."

All three smiled and Momo nodded, Mina and Toru both letting out something between a giggle and a squeal, hugging each other. He rolled his eyes, readying himself, electricity arcing from his eyes. Then, the villains charged. Most of them had some kind of bladed weapons, but they weren't exceptionally powerful. In fact, most of them didn't even use their Quirks. One with a massive sickle charged, slashing at the girl with the headphone jacks, who deflected it and leapt away. Lee exploded forward, his fist exploding into the villain's solar plexus before he even realized Lee had moved. There was a loud series of cracks and snaps as his ribcage shattered and he sailed backward into one with a pair of axes, both bouncing down a trail toward the bottom of a mountain. Lee glanced back as a villain with a Shark head moved to pass through the gap Lee had left, only for Momo to smash her bo staff into the underside of his jaw, flipping him backward before Lee reached them and jumped, throwing a spinning kick into his gut and sending him crashing into a group of villains.

"You're dealing too much damage," Momo said. "You don't need to cripple them."

"How many actual fights to you think I've been in?" Lee asked. "I'm still learning to apply physics to my super power."

Just then, Denki shrieked in fear, fleeing from a giant of a man, ducking under his fists.

"These dudes are terrifying!" Denki shouted. "My whole life just flashed before my eyes! I think I saw the grim reaper! What's going on!?"

"Could you maybe take it down a few notches?" the headphone jack girl asked.

The giant took a step forward, only for his foot to slip on Mina's slime. As he began to tip backward, Momo sent her bo staff drilling into his head, knocking him out before he hit the ground, tumbling down the mountain.

As she was growing another staff, a villain stepped forward, slashing at her with a machete, only for it to spark off of one of the bar's of Lee's left arm's exoskeleton. Then, he pivotted, the back of his right fist crashing into the side of his head and dropping him, this time only with minor fractures.

"Thanks," Momo said, spinning around him and knocking out a villain.

"Right back at you," Lee said, exploding forward and Superman Punching a villain that was heading for the headphone jack girl. "Headphone jacks, on your right!"

"My name is Kyoka Jiro!" the girl said, spinning and deflecting an axe blade for Mina, who sprayed the villain with acid.

It didn't really hurt him, but it stung him enough to make him stagger backward into another just before Lee's fist met the first one's gut, dropping him before he stood and rained a dozen punches into the other villain's head and torso I a second before leaping backward, the villain collapsing.

"I'm getting better at this whole, no excessive force thing," Lee grinned.

"That's great, but what we need to focus on right now is getting away from these enemies," Momo said.

"Then pull out a weapon for me too!" Denki said.

"You're the one with electrical powers," Kyoka said. "Just zap 'em so we can run."

"Were you not paying attention during combat training?" Denki asked. "Some partner you were!" He huffed exasperatedly. "I can cover my body with electricity but if I try to shoot it out it'll go everywhere! I'd take you guys down along with them, or did you want shock treatment today? I can't even call for help because there's still interference jamming the signal!" He tapped his communicator just as Lee leapt over him, flipping and slamming an axe kick down into a villain's shoulder, sending him crashing to the ground. "I'm counting on you three! I'm no help in this situation. You've got to get us out of here, please!"

"You're a real damsel in distress, aren't you?" Kyoka asked as the same giant from before returned, swiping at Denki again. "New idea!" she push kicked him in the back, throwing him into the giant. "You're my human stun gun!"

"Seriously!?" he shrieked before hitting the giant, instantly beginning to electrocute him. "Whoa! Hey, this is working! I'm super strong! Sit back you two, you can count on me!"

"Excellent!" Lee said, spinning and hurling two villains into Denki from the back, Denki shouting in surprise and beginning to explain.

"You are exhausting," Kyoka said, just as a villain with a massive ball of rock around his hand swung at Denki.

"Try electrocuting solid rock bi-" he was cut off by one of Kyoka's jacks plugging into the speaker boot she wore on her right foot, her pulse, judging by what Lee was hearing from behind it, suddenly amplified into a sonic blast, which shattered the stone.

Then, the guy's fist smashed into Denki's face, allowing him to electrocute that guy too. A villain with a pair of daggers leapt at Denki, but Momo hurled a steel net, catching him and landing him against the giant, resulting in him being electrocuted as well. Two villains leapt as Momo and one leapt at Toru and Mina suddenly, but Lee shot around the group, his fist crashing into the jaw of the one heading for Mina and Toru, sending him crashing into the other two, all three crashing to the ground hard.

"You're lucky that worked out so well!" Momo said as Denki finally stopped electrocuting the villains in that group.

"I'm sorry," Kyoka said. "Next time I'll ask before saving our butts." She sent out a blast of sound from her boot again, this time into the villains, taking out a massive group of them in a trail leading away from her. "Dammit Kaminari! You couldn't ask for some kind of aiming gear when you put in your costume request form? I mean, come on!"

A villain leapt down at her from the top of a cliff they were standing against, but Lee shot past her, pulling her out of the way of his strike before Momo slammed a kick into him, hurling him away.

"It's ready!" Momo announced, bending forward as her back began to glow rainbow colors, her shirt pressing outward. "It takes me a little longer...to create something this big!"

A massive, thick. white blanket exploded from the back of her shirt, Lee streaking out from under it and grabbing Mina and Toru before returning, sliding under it on his back with Mina and Toru held against his chest so they didn't skin themselves on the ground. Then, the blanket settled on them all.

"A blanket?" one villain asked.

"Is it supposed to be a shield?" another asked.

"You're looking at a sheet of insulation one hundred millimeters thick," Momo grinned out from under the blanket. "Go Kaminari."

Denki grinned and Momo set the blanket back down. Lee considered trying to get out from under Mina and Toru, especially Toru, since she was naked, but decided against making a scene while surrounded by two exceedingly dangerous girls, and one who could spray acid. Light flickered from under the blanket for a few seconds before ending. Momo sighed, sitting up and lifting a section of the blanket, letting in light as the other girls sat up as well, allowing Lee to finally slip out from under Mina and Toru.

"Now then," Momo said. "I'm worried about the rest of our class. We should find them right away."

Lee glanced at her and instantly looked away, realizing that the entirety of her costume above her utility belts was gone, and he couldn't be sure the rest was still there either.

"You're looking a little overexposed right now," Kyoka warned her.

"Oh, I can make some new clothes," Momo said.

"Here," Lee said, holding out his shirt, eyes held closed. "Wear this in the mean time."

"Are you sure?" Momo asked.

"Yeah," Lee nodded. "It's easier to use my exoskeleton's full range of motion without it anyway."

Momo smiled, accepting the shirt. "Thank you, Lee."

Lee smiled, feeling his cheeks heating up as Kyoka was yelling at Denki not to look.

"I'm decent," Momo said.

Lee carefully opened his eyes and looked outside, snorting in amusement as he saw Denki staggering around in a daze, completely out of it. Mina laughed when she saw what was happening, and they all crawled out from under the blanket, watching Denki stagger around, flashing a double thumbs up and giggling to himself between attempts at babbling. Lee sighed, stepping forward to stop him only to spin and launch himself in front of the girls, between them and their next opponent, a man who was rising from the ground calmly.

"Stay back," Lee said. "I have a feeling this one's different than the others."

"Agreed," Momo said. "We should fight him together."

"No!" Lee snapped. "All of you stay behind me. Kyoka, you'll be the one to support me. When I tell you to, blast him."

"Understood," Kyoka nodded, one jack plugging into each boot.

"Okay," Lee said, crouching. "Time to jet."
