Finals
Lee sighed, setting down his pencil a few seconds before Aizawa called time on the written exams. Three straight days of testing had thoroughly fried his brain, but it was finally over. As the papers were being collected by the students at the back, Mina and Denki both thanked Momo, who simply smiled and waved it off. She continued and Mina turned to Lee.
"And thank you too!" Mina smiled. "You were as helpful as she was!"
"Yeah!" Denki agreed. "You totally saved our asses!"
"It was just studying," Lee said. "Don't make such a big deal of it."
"It is a huge deal!" Toru spoke up. "Now we can all go camping together!"
"Not yet!" Aizawa said, everyone falling silent and turning to the front. "Suit up and head outside to get ready for the practical application test."
Once they'd all done that, they found the entirety of the school's teaching staff present, all but All Might.
"Now then," Aizawa began. "Let's begin the last test. Remember it's possible to fail this final. If you want to go to camp, then don't make any stupid mistakes."
"Why are all the teachers here?" Kyoka asked.
"I believe all of you have gathered information and have some idea of what you'll be faced with today," Aizawa said.
"We're fighting those big ole metal robots!" Denki shouted.
"Fireworks, smores, here we come!" Mina cheered, one fist over her head and the other pumping at her side.
"Actually, this year's test," the principal said, popping out of Aizawa's scarf, "will be completely different for various reasons."
Denki and Mina both froze, turning pale.
"You're changing things?" Momo asked worriedly.
"The tests now have a new focus," the principal said. "There will be hero work, of course, but also teamwork and combat between actual people. So what does that mean for you? You students will be working together in pairs, and your opponents will be one of our esteemed U.A. teachers! Isn't that fabulous?"
Everyone stared. Lee swallowed hard behind his mask. He was going up against All Might. He just knew it. He'd have to. His Quirk was too fast for the rest to test him. Even Aizawa.
"We're fighting the teachers!?" Uraraka asked.
"Additionally, your partners and your opponents have already been chosen," Aizawa said. "They were determined at my discretion based on various factors including fighting style, grades, and interpersonal relationships. First, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are a team...against me." He grinned and lifted his scarf. Then we have Midoriya paired with Bakugo."
The two students in question gasped and stared at each other in shock.
"And their opponent is..." Aizawa trailed off as the obvious choice fell from the sky and landed in a squat.
"I am here," All Might said, standing. "To fight!"
"We're up against All Might!?" Bakugo and Midoriya both gasped.
"You're going to have to work together boys," All Might warned them. "If you want to win."
"And now, let's announce the teams and the teachers they'll be fighting in order," the principal said.
"First up is Kirishima and Sato against Cementoss," Aizawa read. "Next is Tokoyami and Asui against Ectoplasm. Then we have Iida and Ojiro against Power Loader. Then it's my match against Yaoyorozu and Todoroki. After that is Uraraka and Aoyama against Thirteen. Then Kaminari and Ashido against Principal Nezu. After them will be Koda and Jiro against Present Mic. Next is Shoji and Hagakure against Snipe. Then Sero and Mineta against Midnight. Bakugo and Midoriya against All Might will go after that. And finally, due to an oversight and lapse of basic math skills that we apparently suffered during the entrance exams, Lee will be paired up with Mineta again-"
"What!?" Mineta shrieked. "Why do I have to go twice!?"
"Because you're the one I'm least likely to succeed while paired with, dependent on the rules of the test," Lee said. "This is, of course, assuming we're also paired against All Might."
"That's correct," Aizawa said. "The two of you will also be going up against All Might."
Mineta again shrieked, but Lee stuck a hand to his head in order to lift him, then covered his mouth.
"Please continue," Lee said. "I'd like to know how to pass before this one makes us fail."
"To complete the exam, you'll have thirty minutes," the Principal said. "In order to win, your objective is to put these handcuffs on your teacher." He held up a set of gold, exagonal handcuffs with black shutters inside to grip the wearer's wrists. Or you can win if one of you manages to escape from the combat stage."
"So we've either got to capture the teacher or run away," Denki said. "It's basically like the combat training."
"Yeah, but is it really okay to just jet?" Mina asked.
"Yup," the principal said, giving them a thumbs up.
"It's gonna be much tougher than that combat training y'all went through earlier," Present Mic said. "After all, you're up against people waaay better than you."
"Better?" Kyoka asked. "Really? Wait, aren't you just the announcer?"
"Hey!" Present Mic shouted. "Watch yo mouth girl! Have some respect!"
"He's still a pro hero," Lee said. "All of them are. Even if their powers weren't years beyond ours in both power and control, they could still beat us with their combat experience alone."
"That's right," Thirteen said. "This time, your exam will be very similar to a real battle. As strange as it is, please think of us as villains."
"Assumin' you come across yer enemy, if you think you can win against them then fight," Snipe said. "However..."
"In instances where you're outmatched, it would be smarter to run away and find help," Aizawa said. "Todoroki, Iida, Midoriya, Lee, I'm sure the four of you understand."
"Yes sir," Lee said. "Perfectly."
"I won't make that mistake again," Iida said. "I will pass this test and prove that I'm a hero."
"So we fight to win, or run to win," Midoriya summarized.
"That's right!" All Might said. "It's a test of your decision making skills! But with these rules, you're probably thinking your only real choice is to flee. That's why the Support Course made these super-clever accessories for us!" He pulled out a silver wrist band with small black rectangles sticking out of it all the way around.
"Behold!" Present Mic shouted. "Ultra-compressed weights!"
"These babies will add about half our bodyweight to our physiques," All Might said.
"You might want to add a bit more to be fair," Lee pointed out, All Might laughing.
"It's not much, but they will eat up our stamina and make it harder for us to move around," All Might said, then grunted as he finished tightening the two bracelets on his left arm and it dropped onto his knee. "Oh shoot! These are heavier than I thought! We had a contest to come up with these, and young Hatsume ended up winning it!"
"Wow, good for Hatsume!" Midoriya said.
"You think we need a handicap to win against you?" Bakugo growled.
All Might laughed before his grin suddenly seemed a lot more sinister, the light catching his left iris and making it seem to shine blue inside of a black sclera. "This'll be fun."
Lee swallowed hard and walked over to him. "Any chance I can get a set of those after the test for training purposes?"
"I'll see what I can do," All Might said. "Also, depending on how Midoriya's test goes, you might have to wait until tomorrow."
Lee nodded, stepping back with the rest of his class. As they were sent to wait for their test to start, Lee's mind returned to a conversation he'd had with All Might during everyone else's Internship.
"A very long time ago, there was a villain named All For One," All Might said. "He was able to steal and stockpile Quirks, then could give them to people if he wanted to. He could use then in any combinations he wanted, and however many at once he wanted. That man was so powerful that no one could defeat him. Eventually, I faced him. I had thought I won, but at a price." He lifted the left side of his shirt, revealing a wound that had obviously been operated on multiple times to seal, but which was an angry red. "Since that day, my power's been fading. I chose Midoriya as my successor, as you figured out on your own, I've heard, because his Quirk, if trained properly and given enough time, could one day allow him to surpass me, and defeat All For One, now that I'm certain he's returned. My first theory was with Nomu, the bird-like creature with an exposed brain that I fought at the U.S.J. It had multiple Quirks, which should be impossible. Then, while you were attacked, three more of them attacked Hosu city. None as strong as the first, but all incredibly dangerous. Then, you told me about one of the villains that attacked you saying something about them getting your Quirk for your boss. That was what allowed me to be certain. They were sent to capture you because All For One wants your speed. You see, your speed rivals my own. If he had it, combined with the monstrous power I'm sure he already has, there would be no stopping him."
"What should I do?" Lee asked.
"We've arranged to have your sister and her boyfriend protected," All Might said. "They won't know it, but they'll be safe. As for you, I don't want you going anywhere alone anymore. For the time being, I want you to stay with Aizawa as much as possible. He's agreed to let you intern with him for the remainder of the week. Once classes resume, I want you to spend as much time as you can with your classmates. Any of them. Go home to your sister at night, but be with your class as much as you can."
"Yes sir," Lee nodded.
Lee shook his head, returning to the world just as Present Mic announced Sato and Eijiro were both eliminated. He sighed. If he knew them, which he at least did Eijiro, they tried a frontal assault, likely in a city zone, where Cementoss could use his Quirk basically enlessly. They were doomed from the start. He sighed, leaning back on his bench outside and taking a sip from his soda just as Mina sat beside him.
"You're not trying to strategize with Mineta?" Mina asked.
"He refuses to even think about going up against All Might," Lee said. "Which is fine. It's not what he needs to do during our test. For ours, he needs to run for the gate and never look back. I'll be slowing All Might as much as I can to buy him time. If he escapes, we pass, even if I can't follow."
"That's true," Mina said. "Do you know what Mr. Principal's Quirk is?"
"He's smart," Lee said. "Like, super-genius smart. He'll be three steps ahead of you the entire time. You won't be able to beat him. You probably won't even be able to find him."
Mina nodded, beaming. "Thanks!" She gave him a quick kiss before skipping away to tell Denki about the Quirk and try to come up with a plan.
"Any helpful tips for me?" Toru asked, from behind him.
He twisted around and she walked around, sitting beside him. "Hey Toru. Well, my only advice is to use your Quirk fully."
"I figured," Toru nodded. "That's about as far as me and Shoji got. He said we should wait to finalize the plan until we see what we're up against."
"He's smart," Lee nodded. "And so are you. You'll do just fine."
Toru smiled, slipping her gloved hand into his. "So...Mina kissed you."
"Yeah," Lee sighed. "We're not..."
"I figured," Toru said. "I just...guess I'm not that special anymore."
"What do you mean?" Lee frowned.
"It's just...with Yaoyorozu and Ashido...you can actually see them. And...you can be seen with them. It's easy with them. They can show the world that they're beautiful, and they can show you. But...I'm invisible. I'll always be invisible. So, since you can't see me...I guess I just thought if I was the only one who kissed you it would mean it was because I was special."
"Toru, you are special," Lee said. "And just so you know, I still have that mental image I made of you overlayed, so as long as I know where you are, I can still see your face. Only the face though, don't worry, I'm not peeping."
"I know," Toru smiled, still sounding sad. "You're not that kind of person. But...what you see isn't my face. It's your idea of what my face should be. Momo and Mina, you can see their actual face. You know if they're actually beautiful. But with me-"
"Toru, you are actually beautiful," Lee said, cupping her cheeks and making her look at him. "You are special. Nothing will ever change that."
"You promise?" Toru asked.
"I promise," Lee said.
Toru leaned forward, kissing him, and Lee kissed her back for several seconds before she pulled away. "I should go. You should watch the tests. I might help you with yours."
Lee nodded and Toru gave him another quick kiss before also walking away. Lee sighed and stood before following her inside, then branching off toward the observation room. Instead, he stopped as he found Momo in a waiting room, crying. He walked in and sat beside her, pulling her into a hug without a word. She turned into him, taking handfuls of his shirt as she cried, trying to control herself.
"What's wrong?" Lee asked after about ten minutes, just as Present Mic announced Asui and Fumikage won.
"I'm going to fail!" Momo said. "I'm going to make Todoroki fail!"
"That's not true," Lee said. "Momo, you're a genius. You're not going to fail."
"I'm only a genius on paper!" Momo snapped. "In battle I'm useless! Even after training with you! That's why Fumikage beat me!"
"Fumikage beat you because his Quirk, at base, has more brute force and speed than yours!" Lee said. "He's not an enemy you can beat easily. It's a bad matchup. That doesn't make you hopeless!"
"Yes it does!" Momo said. "I can't beat a pro! I can't fight well enough to help Todoroki! I'll just be an anchor for him!"
"No you won't!" Lee snapped. "Momo Yaoyorozu, you are the single strongest, most amazing girl I know! You are going to ace this test just like every other test you take because you are a genius!"
"You're overestimating me," Momo said.
"Momo, how many zero-point robots did you take out during the race?" Lee asked.
"Uh...three, I think," Momo said.
"In how long?" Lee asked.
"About three minutes to make the gun, so about that long," Momo frowned.
"Who else took one down?" Lee asked.
"Todoroki," Momo said. "In about two seconds."
"How many?" Lee asked.
"Well...one," Momo frowned.
"Did anyone else take one out?" Lee asked.
Momo frowned, then shook her head.
"And do you know why?" Lee asked.
"Why?" Momo asked.
"Because you're amazing enough to do it, and they weren't," Lee said, reaching up and wiping her tears away. "You really are the most amazing girl I know, Momo. Never doubt yourself. You're better than you've ever known."
Momo smiled, then leaned forward, hugging him. "I'm not more amazing than Ashido or Toru, though, right?"
"You are," Lee said. "Both of them are amazing as well, and all three of you are important to me, but you're different, Momo. You're your own level of incredible."
Momo tightened her arms around him, sniffing. "Thank you. I needed this. You."
Lee smiled, squeezing her gently for a moment before pulling back and kissing her on top of the head. "Let's go watch the next few matches. Maybe you'll get some ideas for facing mister Aizawa."
Momo shook her head, standing. "I'm up as soon as the current match ends."
"Oh, that's right," Lee said. "Good luck, then. I know you can do this. Just trust yourself, and come up with a plan with Todoroki."
"Thank you," Momo said.
Lee leaned forward, kissing her on the cheek. "For luck."
She smiled and nodded and he walked back to the observation room just as Iida used a kick to fling Ojiro out of the gate, Ojiro using his tail to knock Power Loader out of the way as he passed him. Then, it was Todoroki and Momo's turn. As they were running, Momo began to generate Russian nesting dolls in sets of three. She caught a few, lining her utility belt with them. She and Todoroki were discussing something, though they didn't have any microphones, so no one in the observation room, meaning Lee, Midoriya, Uraraka, and Recovery Girl, could hear what. Todoroki nodded about something, and they headed for the gate. Then, finally, Aizawa appeared. he moved in to strike, but the moment he did, Momo hurled her nesting dolls into the air, each splitting open and letting out a flashbang grenade. As soon as the light had faded, they saw that there was a massive ice dome in the street and encircling one house and its yard. Lee watched the screen carefully. What were they up to?
After a moment, the ice dome shattered, bits flying in every direction, though parts of it remained near the ground. Through the ice in the air, Aizawa saw Momo and Todoroki fleeing, wearing cloaks to hide themselves from his Quirk. However, before they could get far, he caught them with his scarf. Except, Momo stepped out of one of the cloaks, which was pulled out of Aizawa's line of sight in time for him to see a catapult. She swung her hand for the lever but missed. However, he leapt backward and she was able to fire again without needing to adjust the aim. The catapult's ammunition, a massive coil of capture cloth, sailed through the air, twisting and spiraling and surrounding Aizawa. Then, when introduced to Todoroki's flames a moment later, it turned to metal, snapping shut and catching him.
"Nitinol Alloy," Lee mused. "Smart." He smiled. That's my girl.
Todoroki ended his flames before the alloy could hurt Aizawa and Momo cuffed him, winning them the exam. Lee's smile widened and he nodded approvingly.
"That was an amazing plan," Midoriya said.
"Yes," Lee nodded. "Momo's a genius." He turned, walking out of the room and toward the waiting room, finding Momo in there, trying not to cry. "You were amazing. I knew yuo could do it."
"Lee!" Momo smiled, throwing her arms around him and subbing happily into his chest. "Thank you! If you hadn't talked to me earlier, I wouldn't have been able to come up with that plan!"
"I'm sure you would have figured it out anyway," Lee smiled. "But you're welcome."
Momo pulled back from the hug, but only long enough to kiss him. He smiled, kissing her back, and they stayed there for a long while before she finally pulled away, wiping her eyes.
"You know, Mineta would be insanely jealous of you right now," Momo smiled. "You've gotten to kiss me, Toru, and Ashido."
Lee blushed. "You knew?"
"Yes," Momo smiled. "It didn't really surprise me. No offense but you've been really wishy washy about the whole thing, and they both...all three of us, really care about you. Have you chosen yet?"
"No," Lee said. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright," Momo smiled, kissing him again. "I can wait, as long as you promise to let me know when you decide."
"I promise," Lee said.
Momo nodded and hugged him again before they walked back to the observation room. As they arrived, Uraraka and Aoyama were clinging to a railing while Thirteen tried to pull them in with Black Hole. Except, just as Lee's brain registered what was going on, Aoyama said something and Uraraka's face went scarlet before she forgot about holding on and covered her face. As she was pulled toward Thirteen, however, Thirteen deactivated Black Hole to avoid hurting her, then went down hard when Uraraka's internship training with the Battle Hero, Gunhead kicked in and she grabbed her by the wrist and shoulder, slamming her to the ground and cuffing her. Next was Mina and Denki against the principal. Except, even with Lee's warning about his Quirk, there was nothing they could do. He was using a crane from one corner of the factory zone where All Might had had the races the other day to cause chain reactions that destroyed the opposite side of the city absolutely perfectly to block Mina and Denki's escape, except one path that they couldn't find. And through the entire thing, he was cackling like a psychopath and ranting about being smarter than humans. Eventually, time was simply up.
Lee sighed. "Can't say I'm exceptionally surprised by the outcome."
"Me neither," Momo said. "Ashido and Kaminari are going to be devastated."
"It's alright," Lee said. "Don't tell them this, but there was never a threat of not going to camp."
"Wait, what!?" Momo and Midoriya gaped.
"Well, think about it," Lee said. "Four of us were attacked by super deadly villains that killed pro heroes just last week. The League of Villains is still out there, gathering forces. The finals were changed as a way of helping us get a lot stronger a lot faster so we won't be in danger. But if we left, what, four people here while all of us, and all but one of the teachers go camping, would they really be out of danger?"
"You make a fair point," Midoriya said. "But, do you think Mister Aizawa was lying?"
"What'd he call it that first day?" Lee asked. "A logical deception?"
"You're probably right," Midoriya nodded.
"Also, none of the teachers are going all out, even handicapped," Lee said. "They're leaving a single way out of their tests. That way the tests aren't unbeatable for people like Denki and Mina. Although, that one was a bit brutal."
Just then, Kyoka and Koda's match against Present Mic started. Within minutes, he began to scream, and his Quirk completely drowned out any and all sound in the entire forest zone they were in. After a couple of minutes, Kyoka tried to at least weaken his with her own using her speaker boots, but it didn't help much. Finally, after several minutes of being so afraid of bugs that he would actually scream and run away from them, he finally used his Quirk on them once he saw Kyoka's ears bleeding. Apparently, Present Mic was also afraid of bugs, because when hundred of them burst out of the ground and swarmed his leg, Present Mic fainted.
"That's...a little sad for a pro hero," Lee said.
"That's so disgusting!" Momo shivered.
"That's tough even for a pro," Iida said.
"Wow, Koda," Midoriya said. "Harsh move."
"He let a few bugs beat him!?" Recovery Girl fumed.
Lee smirked, reaching up to trail a finger up the back of Iida's net as the same time as up the back of Momo's left arm. Both shrieked and swatted at the, Lee's arms retreating too fast for them to notice them. Iida was panicking for a long minute while Momo turned on Lee instantly.
"You!" She snarled.
"Me," Lee agreed.
"That's not funny!" Momo shrieked.
"I thought it was great," Lee smirked.
Momo glared at him, then turned back to the front, crossing her arms and huffing. The next match was Snipe against Shoji and Toru. After a few minutes of shooting the pillar Shoji and Toru were hidden behind, he threw a smoke grenade, then shot the pillar until it collapsed. As he did, Toru dropped her gloves and shoes and took the cuffs from Shoji, who charged, only for Snipe to shoot the ground in front of him. Shoji raised his arms and tentacles, only for Toru to cuff Snipe, who accidentally bumped his elbow into her boob, Lee would assume, since she began to freak out and call him a pervert immediately afterward.
"She really needs a suit that can go invisible," Lee sighed.
"True," Momo nodded. "Regardless of her costume needs, it was a good plan."
"Of course," Lee smiled. "As I've always said, Toru may not be a combat expert or the flashiest, but when it comes to stealth, there's no one better."
Momo nodded in agreement, just as Mineta and Sero were announced.
"And here's my partner," Lee sighed. "Good luck to Sero."
Sero's luck, apparently, was terrible. At the very start of the battle, when Midnight used her Quirk to try to put both to sleep, Sero saved Mineta from it, only to be put to sleep instead.
"Hey Deku," Uraraka said. "Isn't your match up next? Shouldn't you be waiting in the exam area?"
"Oh," Midoriya said, nodding. "Probably. But I want to make sure I see everyone else fight. It's definitely interesting to see how each team uses their Quirks. But I also feel like I'm getting stronger watching them. Our classmates are just so amazing! Even if they didn't pass, they fought until the very end! Every one of them embodies what it means to be a U.A. Student!"
"Well, um..." Iida trailed off.
"Mostly," Momo said.
"There's definitely one exception," Lee sighed.
"Looks like one of our peers is giving up," Su said, pointing to the screen where Mineta was running away crying.
"What is he doing!?" Midoriya squeaked, apparently surprised his speech was ruing.
"How the heck are we supposed to pass this stupid final!?" Mineta shrieked. "This is crap! There's no way we ever stood a chance of winning here!"
"He's accepting inevitability," Lee sighed. "As soon as Sero went down, this fight was over."
"How'd Sero go down?" Midoriya asked.
"He saved Mineta from Midnight and got caught in stead," Lee said.
As they watched, Midnight got excited by watching Mineta run away and chased him, pulling out a whip. She began to use her Quirk again, but he held his breath, so she began trying to whip him instead, missing each time. Finally, he ran behind a rock and hid.
"And that's game, ladies and gentlemen," Lee said.
Then, Mineta claimed to have run away and cried to fan Midnight's sadistic side in order to draw her away from the gate. As she ripped more of her uniform off, he stepped out with some of Sero's tape covering his mouth and nose. When she tried to whip him, however, he hurled his hair balls onto her whip, her hand where she was gripping it, her feet and the ground, and scattered spots on her body. Then, he sprinted past her. Lee stared at the screen, unsure whether to be impressed by him or severely disappointed in Midnight. He sighed, shaking his head.
"He's a bit more clever than I thought," Lee said. "I still want to know how the hell he got through the entrance exam, though."
"That is an excellent question," Uraraka said.
They watched as Mineta picked up Sero and ran out of the gate. Midoriya ran off for his test and Lee sighed just as the door opened again.
"Lee!" Toru said excitedly. "Did you see!? I caught Mister Snipe!" She threw her arms around him, forcing him to catch her before kissing him in her excitement. "Oh, sorry!"
Lee chuckled. "I'm proud of you, Toru." He kissed her on the forehead. "You did great."
Toru smiled, hugging him again before stepping around beside him, slipping a glove off to hold his hand directly. Momo slipped her hand into his free one and he smiled, giving both a light squeeze.
"I wonder how Bakugo and Midoriya are going to pass," Uraraka said worriedly.
"That's assuming he actually does," Lee said. "It's All Might. I'm not sure he knows how to hold back."
They all fell silent, watching carefully as the test began. It was not good. Bakugo spent the entire time trying to fight All Might. Midoriya spent the time trying to convince him to run away. All Might went overboard as a villain and beat them both senseless. His first action was to obliterate a trail through the fake town from the gate inward, blasting both Midoriya and Bakugo. Finally, Bakugo was saying he'd rather fail than get help from Midoriya. Then, as All Might was moving to finished Bakugo off, hopefully with a knockout, Midoriya shot forward, knocking Bakugo out himself before taking off with him. A few moments later, Bakugo returned to attack All Might, only for Midoriya to return a second later with one of Bakugo's gauntlets, blasting All Might with it. Then, he took off running. All Might recovered quickly, though, and returned just as Bakugo was glanced at his gauntlet. So, All Might broke it, then Midoriya's. Then, he smashed a knee into Bakugo, launching him, then grabbed Midoriya and slammed him into Bakugo when Bakugo returned.
He pinned Bakugo down with his foot and hurled Midoriya, but after a moment, Bakugo blasted him with the same size blast as before, just without his gauntlets. As All Might was airborne, Bakugo picked up Midoriya and spun, hurling him. However, after a few seconds, All Might used a punch to shoot compressed air one way, launching himself the other and crashing into Midoriya's back. The agony Lee saw on Midoriya's face told him all he needed. It was broken. Midoriya exploded into a destroyed bus as All Might turned on Bakugo just as Bakugo blasted him again. Then again. He landed on the ground as Midoriya tried to stand, only to collapse. All Might went after Bakugo and Bakugo blasted him again. Midoriya forced himself up and began to stagger forward as Bakugo blasted All Might over and over. Lee was shocked Midoriya was standing.
All Might moved to stop Midoriya and Bakugo got in front of him and fired another blast at him, only for All Might to avoid it and grab Bakugo by the face, smashing him into the ground hard enough to crater it. Lee grimaced. He did not envy them. And he was definitely not looking forward to going up against All Might. Bakugo grabbed All Might by the arm, but only a puff of smoke came out. He was finished. He had burned himself out. Except, instead of running for the gate, Midoriya returned. Midoriya's right fist exploded into All Might's face, rocking him to the side before Midoriya grabbed Bakugo and ran. All Might moved to chase them, only to fall to his knees, beginning to steam. Lee sighed. His match was going tomorrow after all.
Everyone in the room cheered as Midoriya and Bakugo crossed through the gate. Lee smiled, then sighed. He was about to be in a world of hurt tomorrow. Present Mic announced that everyone's test for the day were done, but that Lee and Mineta would be going in the morning, then the test results for the written portion would be graded after that. Everyone congratulated each other, then went home for the night.
