Speed vs Might

Lee walked into the city zone and swallowed hard, Mineta shaking beside him. They walked to the far side, then stopped turning back to the gate as the test was announced.

"Mineta," Lee said. "I'm going to make this very easy for you. Go hide. Then, once I've got All Might's attention, all you need to do is make it through the gate."

"You're crazy!" Mineta said. "You can't fight him!"

"I know," Lee said, pulling on his mask. "But this is the only way. Are you ready?"

"No!" Mineta shouted.

"Go!" He shouted, taking off as he saw All Might rocketing toward them from the other end, both speeding down the main road at each other as Mineta screamed and sprinted toward the buildings on his left.

Lee dropped to his right knee, bending backward to slip under All Might as his left arm blurred. Adrenaline and fear flooded his brain as his neural implant kicked up to max cognitive speed. He roared in effort, his fist streaking up and crashing into the underside of All Might's jaw a dozen times in an instant, knocking him off course and into a bilding on the right, shattering two floors of it. He slid to his feet and spun just as All Might sent a massive blast of compressed air at him from the building. Lee exploded to the side and the blast exploded into the ground like a missile, obliterating it and scattering debris. Lee swore, glancing at the buildings, only to see Mineta still running, arms over his head and tears flooding down his face. Lee turned back to the front as All Might grabbed his face, smile wide an the blue of his eyes seeming to glow. He roared in effort again, contorting his body and slamming a blurred kick into All Might's head, knocking him sideways and freeing himself. He flipped to the ground and exploded forward, right fist blurring before he slammed it into the side of All Might's face, actually managing to launch himself. All Might grinned, back at him as he flew.

"You've learned to increase your offensive force by speeding your blows up to impact a dozen times in an instant," All Might said. "Very IMPRESSIVE! ! !"

As he said the last word, he flipped over a punch, slamming one into Lee's back on the left side, smashing him into the ground. Lee bounced, shouting in pain, and looked to All Might as All Might moved to throw another. Lee pushed off All Might's fist, flipping over him and swinging his feet to the ground.

"Thanks for the boost!" Lee said, grabbing All Might by the hair spikes and spinning, swinging All Might around before letting him go and immediately blasting after him.

All Might crashed into a wall, cracking it, then exploded out of the way of Lee's fist, allowing Lee to explode through the wall instead. Lee spun, stopping himself as All Might stepped through the wall, drawing himself up and stalking forward.

"How will you fight me in an enclosed space?" All Might asked.

"Just like this!" Lee said, exploding forward and leaning out of the way of a punch, drilling a blurred fist into All Might's face.

All Might grunted and rocked back, then grinned even wider, eyes glinting maliciously before both began to strike in blurs. Lee used his Quirk to its utmost potential, avoiding All Might's strikes and drilling his own into All Might anywhere he could, though he was barely getting an effect now. Finally, All Might scored a hit directly to Lee's gut and Lee shouted in pain, exploding backward through the wall and through another building, miraculously without hitting his head, before crashing to the ground and rolling to a stop. He pushed himself up as he saw Mineta sprinting for the gate down the road. All Might noticed as well and shot after him, Lee exploding into movements as well. He reached them just as All Might was about to catch Mineta and kicked All Might's arm away before flipping and slamming his other foot into the side of All Might's jaw, launching him. He dropped, grabbing a flat, circular chunk of stone off the ground and stuck it to a ball on Mineta's head, yanking the ball off, then another on the other side of the rock before turning and exploding after All Might just as the number one hero recovered. He drilled a punch into All Might's jaw and All Might threw a haymaker at him at the same time. Lee flipped over it, sticking one of the balls to the inside of All Might's wrist as he did. He flipped, slamming an aerial windmill kick into All Might's head and sent him staggering away. Then, just as All Might stopped and noticed the ball stuck to his wrist, Lee kicked All Might's other arm, sticking it to the other ball, pinning his arms together, as the rock between the balls shattered, allowing the balls to end up stuck to his wrists next to each other.

All Might grinned, then swung both arms, clubbing Lee with the back of one, sending him exploding into a building. "You've done well, Lee. But I think it's time for me to teach you a lesson."

Lee staggered out of the hole he'd formed, blood running down his face from a gash in the top of his head. All Might exploded after Mineta again and Lee shot after him, flipping into the air over Mineta and smashing both feet down into his back, blasting him into the ground, only for All Might to flip, grabbing Lee by the head before finishing his flip and blasting him into it, Lee feeling his skull crack and his skin split open in several places.

"Lee!" Mineta shrieked.

"Run Mineta!" Lee ordered. "Don't stop no matter what!"

He slammed his left elbow into All Might's arms, knocking them off, then twisted, slamming his right fist into All Might's jaw, scrambling out from under him. All Might rocked to the side, then swung his arms, connecting with Lee's side so hard the exosuit shattered around the impact. HE flashed through the air, crashing down hard before flipping and bouncing to a stop. He stood, grabbing a fist-sized stone from the ground and hurled it with his Quirk, sending it streaking back at All Might, managing to slam it into the back of All Might's head. He swayed, sighing as All Might turned back to him, eyes glinting. Lee knelt, picking up a half dozen more and began to hurl them like bullets. All Might took off instantly, dodging around the rocks before reaching Lee and swiping at him. Lee ducked under it and flipped sideways, smashing a heel into the underside of All Might's chin. All Might rocked back a step and Lee exploded forward, after Mineta, who was right there. Just another second and they'd pass.

All Might's feet touched the ground to Lee's right and he looked up, eyes widening as he saw all Might's arms raised. He couldn't move fast enough. His feet were still swinging away from each other. Then, All Might's fists descended. They exploded into the center of Lee's metallic spine hard, sending Lee exploding directly into the ground, his right leg being ripped out of socket and his hip shattered instantly and blood spraying from his mask, which flew off his face. But the part that got to Lee was the deafening cracking sound that split the air, followed by a shrieked of agony from Lee as his entire back was suddenly attacked by white-hot blades all stabbing into the impact point of All Might's blow at once. The horn sounded Mineta's success, but Lee couldn't hear anything through the all-consuming agony he was in. All Might grabbed him and exploded into the air, rushing to Recovery Girl. She healed him as best she could, getting his hip mostly healed, and his head and side were both healed fully. His spine was not.

"I can't treat his spine," Recovery Girl said. "It's not natural, so I can't affect it. He said that his sister created it?"

"That's right," Momo said, she and All Might being the only ones allowed in the room, though the entirety of the class was outside.

"Then he needs to get to her," Recovery Girl said. "And soon. if this doesn't get fixed soon, he'll die. Probably within the hour."

"What!?" Momo said.

"Take her with you, All Might," Recovery girl said as he lifted Lee, who once again shrieked in agony, despite being unconscious. "And hopefully this will teach you some measure of restraint in the future."

All Might turned and knelt and Momo climbed onto his back before he ran outside, ignoring everyone they passed. "Keep your eyes and mouth shut and hold on for all you're worth!"

Momo complied, wrapping chains around them both to hold herself on before he leapt off the ground, speeding through the air far faster than he'd been moving before now that he was free of his weights. After a few minutes, and several more jumps, All Might knelt again and Momo released herself before they hurried into Lee's house, finding Amy cooking.

"Amy!" Momo shouted. "Lee's hurt!"

Amy sprinted into the room instantly as All Might set Lee on the dining room table. She gasped as she saw the damage to his spin and the blood running out of it. She turned the clamps ont he sides of his boots and pulled them off then deactivated the magnets on his suit using a small switch at the top of the neck, then had All Might lift him while she quickly pulled it off of him, everyone ignoring the lack of clothes that left him with. Once he was out of his exosuit, she grabbed a towel and pressed it to the break, making Lee shriek in agony, arms scrambling at the table.

"I know!" Amy said, tears running down her face. "I know Lee!" She reached to a small screen on the side of the table and turned it on. "Momo, what do you see!?"

"It's broken more underneath," Momo said. "Only the same four, but it's shattered."

Amy nodded. "Upstairs, third door on the right! There's a workbench to the left that should have the schematic for his spine!"

Momo sprinted away instantly, climbing the stairs three at a time before sprinting to the door. She spotted the papers and such covering the work bench and began to rifle through them quickly. "Come on!" Finally, she found what she needed. "Yes!"

She sprinted back downstairs to Amy and handed them to her, taking Amy's place holding the towel, All Might carefully holding Lee down so he couldn't aggravate the wound.

"Okay!" Amy said. "Move the towel!" Momo complied and Amy grabbed All Might's hands, directing them to the vertebrae directly above and below the break, which spanned four of them. "Force the break closed and hold it there!"

All Might did as instructed and Lee shrieked, flailing but going nowhere.

"Momo, do you know how to make the metal?" Amy asked.

"Yes!" Momo nodded.

"Good!" Amy said. "See these holes?" She pointed to tiny opening in the sides of the vertebrae, two holes per side, four total per vertebrae. "You need to pump liquid metal into these until I say! All four at once!"

Momo nodded, moving her hands to the first broken vertebra, only Amy to catch her hands again.

"This is going to hurt him, badly," Amy said. "Do not stop!"

Momo nodded, placing her index and middle fingers over the holes before beginning to generate a liquid form of the same metal. For a second it was fine. Then, it met the flesh under the spine and Lee began to thrash, spasm, and shriek continuously. Momo's eyes began to water but she kept up. Finally, liquid metal began to rise from the vertebra, filling the cracks in the surface. Finally, once it had filled the crack entirely, Amy told Momo to move on to the next. Momo did as instructed and Amy again watched through the x-ray screen on the side. Slowly, Momo worked her way down Lee's spine, fixing the vertebrae one by one until she finally finished the last.

"That's it," Amy said. "It's fixed."

"Can I let go?" All Might asked, steaming.

"Not yet," Amy said. "Another thirty seconds."

All Might waited, his face set into a deep frown, eyes desperate but determined, both as they had been since he'd realized he hurt Lee. Finally, Amy let him let go and he stepped back, exploding into smoke and returning to his true form. Momo and Amy payed him no attention at all, however, instead focused on Lee. Momo gently wiped away the last of the blood around his spine while Amy gently tapped each formerly broken vertebra with a small hammer. Lee jerked each time, but he didn't scream or try to get away. Amy sighed, dropping into a chair and nodded.

"It's fixed," Amy said. "Good as new."

"Thanks...sis," Lee said, face still contorted in pain.

"What the hell happened to it?" Amy asked.

"There was...an accident," Lee said.

"It was my fault," All Might said. "I got carried away and accidentally broke his spine. Please, forgive me."

"What?" Amy asked. "Why were you...fighting All Might?"

"It was...a test," Lee said. "Passed."

"You almost died!" Amy said, then sighed. "Head back to the school nurse to have your burns healed."

"I doubt she'll be able to do anything yet," Lee said. "My hip's messed up too."

"Only for another day," Recovery Girl said walking in with Midnight. "Let me see."

Momo formed Recovery Girl a step ladder and Recovery Girl climbed up then leaned forward, her lips stretching down to kiss his back and healed his burns. Lee sighed, setting his head down.

"Tomorrow I'll be able to finish healing your hip," Recovery Girl said. "For now, we'll need to get him back to the school and to my office."

"I brought a car," Midnight said. "We should all be able to fit, as long as Lee doesn't mind having company in the back."

"Company is fine," Lee said. "Amy, just making sure you noticed, but my suit needs some work."

Amy snorted. "You don't say. I'll pick Yaoyorozu up from school tomorrow and help her fix it. Until it's done, you'll be stuck with your old backup exoskeleton."

"That's fine," Lee said. "I don't support someone can put some pants on me?"

"I've got it," Midnight said, pulling his shorts off of his exosuit and pulling them onto Lee carefully.

Once he was covered, she helped Recovery girl carefully splint his hip by putting a pillow wrapped in a fluffy blanket between his legs then binding them with a sheet, ripping it open over his hip to keep from putting pressure on it. Then, she and All Might lifted him together and they all headed out to the car. Momo got into the back and took Lee's upper body while All Might got into the driver's seat to carefully lift him in before Midnight climbed in beside Momo, setting Lee's legs in her lap. Recovery Girl took shotgun and they left Lee's house, driving back toward the school.

As All Might drove, Momo gently stroked Lee's hair, watching him worriedly, only for him to smile.

"Don't make that face," Lee smiled. "I'll be fine."

"You'd better," Momo said. "You scared the hell out of me."

Lee smiled. "Sorry."

"I'm sorry, Lee," All Might said. "I never meant to hurt you."

Midnight slapped him in the back of the head and Recovery Girl smacked him with her syringe-shaped cane, hard.

"Hey, I'm driving!" All might complained.

"You really messed up, All Might," Recovery Girl said. "You nearly killed this poor boy. You need to learn restraint. What would have happened if we haven't been able to find his sister?"

All Might was silent. "I'm sorry."

"I don't know what you mean," Lee said. "I remember falling off a building and breaking my back when I landed. All Might just showed up too late to catch me."

All Might sighed. "You don't need to do that. I can't be the Symbol of Justice if I don't accept the consequences of my actions."

Lee sighed, wincing as the car hit a bump, only for Midnight to hold a finger under his nose, releasing a tiny amount of her Quirk's fumes to put him to sleep.
