Lee laughed as he walked Midoriya attempting to break dance, looking to be doing something resembling the robot, and Aoyama did something more akin to stomping in place. What they were supposed to be doing was skipping from one side to the other and back while swinging their arms. Mina had been in a better mood for most of the morning, so Lee had managed to get her to dance, since that always cheered her up. Midoriya, deciding knowing how to dance would help with fine motor control and help with close combat, had asked her to teach him. It wasn't going well.
"Why aren't you dancing?" Uraraka asked. "Wouldn't she be happier dancing with you?"
Lee chuckled. "She taught me to dance forever ago. She's a great teacher, as long as the person's capable of learning. Looks like she has her hands full. Aside from that, there isn't very much break dancing that can be done with two people while still being appropriate for during school hours. Partnered break dancing tends to involve a lot of grinding."
"That's true," Toru said from off to the side where she'd been beating Mineta about the head for scolding Mina for wearing shorts under her skirt, allowing her to dance without flashing her panties.
"I suppose," Uraraka said. "What about you, Toru? Can you dance?"
"Some," Toru said. "I'm not as good as Mina, but she taught me and Momo too. It was a...nice distraction."
Lee gave her hand a light squeeze and she flashed him a grateful smile before they turned back to the failed dance lesson. A few minutes later, with Aoyama and Midoriya making little, if any, progress, they all took their seats as Aizawa stood in front of the class in his sleeping bag.
"It's coming," Aizawa said. "The School Festival is almost here."
"Yay!" most of the class cheered. "Normal school stuff!"
"Wait Mister Aizawa!" Eijiro said, standing. "Are you sure this is okay!?"
"Sshh, Kirishima!" Kaminari shushed him instantly. "Don't you ruin this!"
"Think about it though!" Eijiro said. "There are villains everywhere right now! Especially that freaky team that's..." He stopped, eyes widening slightly as Lee's hands curled into fists and Momo, Mina, and Toru's heads ducked and the mood in the class plummeted from those four alone.
"You're right," Aizawa said. "That's a reasonable point. However, there are students here besides those in the hero course. You get the spotlight every year at the Sports Fest. This is for everyone else, the Support Course, General Studies, and don't forget the Business Course students. This doesn't get as much attention as the Sports Fest, but it's still the yearly event they all look forward to. Many of your peers are feeling stressed out by the current conditions here at U.A., especially the dorm system, which had to be adopted because of the Hero Course."
"When you put it like that, guess it'd be unfair to cancel it," Eijiro said, sitting back down.
"Correct," Aizawa said. "So yeah, it's still on, and hopefully, everyone will enjoy it. Though, unlike festivals of the past, this year's will only be open to U.A. students and staff, with a few exceptions. You may not be the focus this time, but your class still needs to participate with some kind of original programming." He sat down against the wall, eyes beginning to slide closed as he continued to speak. "You need to decide what you want to do today." Then, he was asleep.
"Eijiro, if that team you mentioned becomes a problem, I'll deal with it," Lee said calmly. "The teachers will likely step in as well, but rest assured, you won't need to worry about them."
"I'm not worried about me," Eijiro said. "But...okay. I'll take your word for it."
"What team are you talking about?" Iida asked. "I assume it's not the League of Villains, since you would have said so."
"It's nothing!" Midoriya said hastily. "Anyway, what are we going to do for the school festival?"
Iida was up in an instant, producing a stack of papers from seemingly nowhere. Momo smiled, shaking her head as he rushed to the front and followed, standing off to the side, since she was vice president.
"Alright!" Iida said. "It is my duty as Class President to facilitate the process from here! I promise I will do my very best! Let's start! First, we will have a quick brainstorming session! If anyone has an idea please raise your hand!"
Instantly almost every hand in the room shot up and everyone began to shout, the change happening so suddenly that Iida and Momo actually flinched.
"Well, I wasn't expecting such enthusiasm," Iida said. "Calm down and we'll go one at a time!" He looked around as everyone settled down. "Yes! You Kaminari!"
"A maid café!" Kaminari shouted excitedly, jumping up. "Seriously! Imagine it! Now imagine it again but with more details! And if you imagine me in the center of the action...oh ho ho yeah! I think we've already got a winner."
Lee flung a pencil at him, bouncing the eraser off the back of his head. "Sit down, Mineta Two. Even if we did do a maid café, the only way you'll be in the middle of the action is wearing your own maid dress."
The girls all laughed as Kaminari turned crimson.
"Oh, now that sounds like it'd be worth doing a maid café!" Kyoka laughed. "I can't wait to humiliate you."
Kaminari began to pout.
"Maids," Iida mused. "It is good to serve others."
"That's way too tame!" Mineta shrieked, holding his hand up.
"Mineta," Iida said.
"A topless-" Before he could say another word, Su had him bound in a thick brown cloth wrapped in rope and hanging upside down from the ceiling.
"Wanna help me tie this off?" Su asked Sato.
"Sure thing," Sato said.
"A mochi shop!" Uraraka suggested.
"Celebrating Japanese Cuisine!" Iida nodded.
"An arm wrestling match!" Eijiro suggested, miming it.
"So intense!" Iida said.
"A funhouse!" Toru cheered.
"I don't know what you mean, but sounds interesting!" Iida said supportively.
"A grapery!" Sato suggested.
"That'd be great for eating on the go!" Iida said.
"Disco!" Mina cheered, striking a dance pose.
"Sounds invigorating!"
Lee smiled, happy to see all three of his girls were seeming back to normal. This would be good for them.
"A hero quiz!" Midoriya said.
"As I'd expect from you!" Iida said.
"The Frog Song in around!" Su said.
"How charming!" Iida said.
"Maybe a petting zoo?" Koda offered.
"Also a suggestion," Iida said, though Lee thought it was the best idea yet.
"Soba stall," Todoroki said.
"It is your favorite," Iida said.
"Fight to the death!" Bakugo yelled.
"Unexpected for a festival," Iida said.
"A mad banquet of darkness," Fumikage said, Iida simply letting out an interested laugh.
"A twinkling extravaganza!" Aoyama suggested.
"Huh?" Iida asked.
"Maybe a skit?" Kyoka said.
"Possibly," Iida said.
Lee glanced at Kaminari, who was staring at Kyoka.
"Right, anybody else?" Iida asked.
"A traditional café!" Sero called out.
"A dance routine!" Ojiro said.
"Takoyaki shop!"
"Crepes!"
"Let's do a concert," Lee finally spoke up, everyone staring at him. "What? Imagine how much fun that could be. Plus, something as simple, relatively innocent, and fun as going to a concert could improve everyone's mood."
"That's an awesome idea!" Mina cheered.
Some of the others began to agree too, before a few more ideas were offered up. Momo typed all the ideas on the tablet linked to the smart chalkboard so they could all vote on them.
"Okay, I think we've got something from everyone now," Iida said.
"To begin with, let's cut some," Momo said, picking up a tablet. "Anything inappropriate, impossible, or confusing."
Aoyama's, Bakugo's, Fumikage's, and a suggestion written down simply as "BOO?" were all crossed off.
"So harsh," Fumikage said as Mineta groaned, even though his idea wasn't even on the board.
"Why'd you even bother asking?" Bakugo asked.
"Who said a local history presentation?" Toru asked. "That sounds super boring!"
Iida twitched.
"Definitely," Fumikage agreed.
"It's not awful, but the others seem more fun," Ojiro said.
"Very well, my classmates have spoken," Iida muttered.
"And we do group study sessions all the time!" Kaminari said.
Momo grimaced. "Yes that's...true. I guess."
Lee gave her a sympathetic smile and she smiled gratefully while shrugging slightly.
"What if we rolled all the food stuff into one idea?" Sero asked.
"Doesn't soba with crepes sound kinda gross?" Eijiro asked.
"Besides, sounds kinda weird to offer a bunch of random food," Kyoka added.
"Quiet down!" Iida shouted, though everyone ignored him, continuing to comment on what they thought was best and argue about their ideas. "Silence! Be civil!"
No one listened.
"A consensus is going to be difficult," Momo said.
"Order!" Iida shouted. "Please!"
The bell rang suddenly and the class went silent. Aizawa stood, sighing.
"That was a highly unproductive meeting," Aizawa sighed, walking out of the room. "Decide what you'll do by tomorrow morning. If you don't we'll go with my idea." He turned to look back at them. "An educational lecture."
"You mean just a class?" they all asked, imagining receiving a class while on stage.
"Who'd come see that?" Kaminari asked.
"He's joking, right?" Sero asked.
"No way!" Eijiro said. "We'll decide what we're gonna do by tonight!"
Everyone cheered and agreed, then left the class. Midoriya, Uraraka, Su, and Eijiro all stayed to catch up on classes they missed during the raid, but Lee and the girls had caught themselves up while they were taking time to recover from the ambush. A few hours later, the others, minus Bakugo, who went to sleep, all gathered in the living room to decide what they'd be doing.
