Decided
"Decide what you'll do by tomorrow morning. If you don't we'll go with my idea." He turned to look back at them. "An educational lecture."
"You mean just a class?" they all asked, imagining receiving a class while on stage.
"Who'd come see that?" Kaminari asked.
"He's joking, right?" Sero asked.
"No way!" Eijiro said. "We'll decide what we're gonna do by tonight!"
Everyone cheered and agreed, then left the class. Midoriya, Uraraka, Su, and Eijiro all stayed to catch up on classes they missed during the raid, but Lee and the girls had caught themselves up while they were taking time to recover from the ambush. A few hours later, the others, minus Bakugo, who went to sleep, all gathered in the living room to decide what they'd be doing.
"Huh, where's the raid team?" Ojiro asked.
"The other four had to catch up on classes," Lee said. "We caught up on our own, but they didn't get around to it. We needed the distraction."
"Alright, well, I guess we'll have to decide for them," Kaminari said.
"What about Bakugo?" Ojiro asked.
"Sleeping," Kaminari said.
"Now that things have quieted down, I have some thoughts about our list," Iida said. "It's obvious we've caused some strain on the other students. It would make sense to choose something that would raise their spirits in an effort to make it up to them."
"I don't disagree," Momo said. "We're aiming to be heroes, right? So we should be aware of any trouble we've caused for others."
"Correct, and with that in mind, I don't think we can offer the students of U.A. a meal that will satisfy their taste buds," Iida said.
"Not since we'll be competing with Lunch Rush's gourmet cooking," Lee said.
"So food is out of the question?" Sero asked.
"I believe that would be for the best," Iida nodded. "There must be another way we could be of service."
"We have to keep their needs in mind," Shoji said. "If we're the only ones having fun, the event will be a disaster."
"It's frustrating, but Lunch Rush is just too good," Sato said.
"Well, why don't we go with Lee's idea, then?" Toru asked, sitting on her knees on the couch beside Momo.
"Yeah!" Mina cheered. "I can teach everyone to dance!"
"That's a good idea," Todoroki agreed. "I'll agree with a concert."
"Not what I'd expect from Todoroki," Mineta said, then gasped. "Wait! Are you some kind of secret raver!?"
"No," Todoroki said. "I just agree with Iida's opinion that we should provide stress relief for the people in the other courses. In order to do that, maybe we should focus on something that offers entertainment for everyone. Lee's idea seems like the best choice out of those present. Honestly, it's not too different from my extra exam training."
Lee quirked an eyebrow at Todoroki, picturing Bakugo and Todoroki singing and dancing.
"Singing and dancing, huh?" Iida asked.
"None of us dances, do we?" Sero asked. "No one wants to see a cringey routine."
"How many times does Mina have to say she can teach everyone before you all will realize she's being serious?" Lee asked. "Remember Midoriya and Aoyama this morning?"
"Yeah," Sero said.
"Well within an hour, she had them dancing like professionals," Lee said.
"That's true," Denki grinned. "Ashido taught them how to throw it down! The work of a real dance master right there!"
"Hold on you idiots!" Mineta shouted. "Dance is about rhythm! Thunderous beats! If we do this we'll need some serious jams!"
"Well if we're talking about music..." Toru said excitedly, Kyoka gasping as everyone turned to her.
"Uh...what?" Kyoka asked, suddenly blushing.
"Why don't we perform live!?" Toru cheered, running over to her. "With all your instruments!"
"Absolutely not!" Kyoka said, voice a little screechy from embarrassment.
"What's wrong?" Toru pouted. "You're really good at playing, and teaching people how to play. And you always look like you're having a ton of fun when you make music! I bet everyone in school would love to hear you rock out!"
Kyoka's gaze fell to the ground, her eyes pained, and her voice slightly more frail and trembling ever-so-slightly when she spoke again. "No. I'm not Ashido or Sato. Their hobbies actually help their hero work. They have a purpose." She began tapping the tips of her earphone jacks together nervously. "But music...it really is just a hobby. Sorry. I just don't think it's something I want to show off to the school."
"Oh, that's why you got weird," Kaminari realized, then walked forward, leaning in close to her face and grinning widely. "But, you can play so many instruments! You're frickin' awesome!"
Kyoka blushed, eyes wide with surprise and mouth frozen partway open, like she wanted to respond but wasn't sure what to say. After a moment, she recovered slightly and closed her mouth as Kaminari stepped back.
"Jiro," Kota said. "Why not use your skill to make other people smile? I think your music will definitely be useful when you're a pro!"
Jiro's lower lip began to quiver as Momo finally stepped in front of her.
"Look, I understand where both of you are coming from, but it is her choice," Momo said. "If she doesn't want to perform, that's fine."
"Well, after what you've all said..." Kyoka said, hands gripping the back of her head and her head bowed, letting her bangs hide her eyes, "If I didn't do it, I guess it wouldn't be rockin' at all." She looked up at them, blushing again but looking a little more determined now.
The class cheered.
"Class One A will do a live performance and throw a dance party like this school's never seen before!" Kaminari cheered.
The class set about trying to get a general idea about what they'd be doing, but while they did, Lee grabbed Kaminari by the arm and pulled him off tot he side.
"What's up?" Kaminari asked. "Is there a problem?"
"You like her, don't you?" Lee asked.
"What!?" Kaminari scoffed. "No way! You're imagining things! I don't like her! there's no way I'd like her! No matter how talented she is with instruments, or how strong she is, or cool, or beautiful or...uh...I mean..."
Lee quirked an eyebrow and Kaminari groaned.
"I think I got a little carried away there," Kaminari sighed. "Alright, fine. Yes. I really like Jiro. She's just...so amazing, and so beautiful. Not that I'll ever have the chance. She can't stand to be around me."
"I wouldn't be so sure," Lee smirked.
"Yeah right," Kaminari said. "Every opportunity she gets, she puts me down. She's made it plenty clear she hates me."
"She doesn't hate you, Kaminari," Lee snorted. "She's trying to deny the fact that she likes you too. Not to anyone else, though. She's trying to deny it to herself."
"What, like, she doesn't want to accept it?" Kaminari asked.
"Exactly," Lee said.
"Sure," Kaminari said, rolling his eyes. "Look, just, don't tell anyone. Please."
"Oh I won't," Lee said. "But you will."
"Excuse me?" Kaminari asked. "Why would-"
"You're going to tell her," Lee continued. "And to be clear, I don't mean you're going to walk up to her and tell her you like her. You're going to be a bit more subtle about it. And you're going to win her over. And I'm going to help you."
"Why would I want that?" Kaminari asked.
"Dude," Lee said flatly. "I have three girlfriends, who all agreed to share me, then forced me to let them share me. And I didn't actually have to try to do it."
Kaminari was quiet for a moment before sighing heavily. "What did you have in mind?"
"A concert," Lee said. "I didn't suggest it because it's a good idea. I suggested it, because imagine the look on her face when you all of a sudden can play guitar like a pro. this is your big chance to impress her."
Kaminari's brow furrowed as he thought about it. "But I can't play guitar."
"No, you can't," Lee said, then grinned. "But I can. Since I can already dance, I don't need to attend Mina's dance classes until we're actually learning the dance we'll be doing for the concert. Which gives me plenty of time to teach you to play."
"Alright," Kaminari said. "I'll admit, that idea has...some merit to it. But me impressing her by playing guitar won't be enough to win her over."
"No, it won't," Lee agreed. "But I know you noticed. When she was talking about her hobby not being helpful, she looked hurt. Somewhere along the line, she started to believe her love of music and her dream of being a hero were completely unrelated, and started to be ashamed of her hobby. So you're going to be spending the near future supporting her and telling her how amazing a rock star she would be, and how amazing she is."
"I feel like this is going to go badly," Kaminari said. "I suck at talking to her without making a fool out of myself."
"That's good," Lee said. "Because that will make you being honest with her for the first time more worthwhile. No showboating, no playing your feelings off as a joke. You're just going to tell her what you actually think of her. And if you need help, I'll tell you what to say. If that time comes, and I tell you to say something, just say it. Don't add onto it to try to make it sound better, and don't leave anything out to cover your ass. Just say what I tell you to. Deal?"
"Maybe," Kaminari said. "I'm not promising anything."
"Is she worth the risk of making a fool out of yourself and having nothing change in exchange for the chance that maybe I'm right and you can finally be with her?" Lee asked.
Kaminari was silent for a moment before groaning. "Alright, fine. I'll try it. But if you make me look like an idiot, I'm going to find a way to fry you with my electricity without you just shrugging it off."
"If I make you look like an idiot, and it doesn't work, I'll let you," Lee promised.
Kaminari sighed, nodding. They walked back over to the others as everyone began to disperse and head to bed for the night. As Lee and the girls headed up to Momo's room, they looked at him expectantly. He chuckled, waiting until they were in Momo's room before telling them about his deal with Kaminari. Toru and Mina practically squealed with delight and excitement, begging him to let them help. He chuckled and agreed, but only if their help involved trying to convince Kyoka to give him a chance. Finally, after a few more minutes of the pair trying to decide how to get Kaminari and Kyoka together, Lee finally kissed them to stop them talking long enough to convince them to sleep on it.
