Tennessee rode Dash faster than he had ever ridden his horse before before. The battle may have been won, but the war was not over. Weasen had abducted Jessica moments after the showdown, and now it was up to Tennessee to save her. The male raccoon clutched his horse's reins so tightly that his nails began to puncture his palms through his gloves, but that did not stop him. Nothing was going to stop him from rescuing the love of his life. Not Weasen, not his goons, not a single lawman. Nothing. Right now, the cards were on the table, and Tennessee had to play them right if he wanted Jessica to be safe at the end.

After what seemed like an eternity of riding, Tennessee eventually made it to the old theater that Weasen had mentioned. It was a simple building with a set of double doors on each side, with a ticket booth on display in the middle. The building looked old and run down, almost making it a mystery as to how it was still standing. Tennessee dismounted, walked over, opened one of the doors and quickly made his entrance, taking note of the artistic surroundings. The building looked just as old as the outside, but with actual character. Along the walls were paintings of what looked like actors from Europe and Greece putting on their own shows. It made Tennessee wonder how long this building was around and who was responsible for the artistry.

Tennessee snapped out of his appreciation for the artwork when we noticed the entrance to the main theater. With a deep breath, Tennessee opened the doors and walked right in, spotting his target on center stage.

"WEASEN!" he bellowed.

The weasel looked up from where he was standing. On center stage with his cane balancing him, Weasen gave Tennessee a smile and took off his hat, proceeding to bow as if he were an actor who had just finished a grand performance.

"Mister Cooper, what a pleasure!" he chimed. "I was beginning to worry you would miss my show!"

"Cut the crap," Tennessee growled. "Where is Jessica?!"

Weasen's expression twisted to mock confusion as he slowly rose up from his position and tapped his chin.

"Jessica? Hmm...Jessica...Jessica...Oh!" he snapped his fingers and placed his hat back on top of his head. "You must mean the leading lady! All in good time, Mister Cooper, all in good time. I wish to have a little chat with the audience about the theater's policies and rules before the main event. It's only polite, don't you agree?"

"I'm not talkin' ta you!" Tennessee snapped. "Tell me what you've done ta her, Weasen, or else I'll-"

"Have a seat, Tennessee, I insist!"

Before Tennessee knew it, he was suddenly sitting on one of the theater seats, red smoke disappearing around him. He let out an irritated growl and looked up at the weasel, who now sported a look of approval.

"Now then," Weasen cleared his throat. "Please do indulge me, Mister Cooper. I am putting on an extravagant show for you, after all. So much effort put into this production and you won't even give me the pleasure of introduction. How awfully rude."

Tennessee didn't say a word. He let out a heavy breath through his nose as he continued to glare at the weasel. Weasen noticed this and let out an irritated sigh of his own.

"Fine, we can skip the introduction. However, there is one thing that I must insist we discuss, Mister Cooper. Thief to thief."

Tennessee let out a snort. "A thief?! Weasen, yer anything but a thief! At least I have a code! At least I have the honor and heart! What you have is none of that! You are nothin' like me!"

"Oh no?" Weasen lifted an eyebrow. "Then why don't you enlighten me, Mister Cooper. Exactly how am I different from you? What am I?"

"You're a coward who does magic tricks!" Tennessee spat.

Weasen, at first, appeared unamused by the raccoon's attitude towards him.

"Actually, you are wrong…" Weasen disagreed. "We are the same. Think about it, Cooper - we both have our own agendas! We both flee from the law to avoid the tight and ruthless grasp of justice! We each have our own...desires. But most of all...we both have goals! We have dreams! My wish was to take back what my family lost - to live in this valley like a king! And what of you, Cooper? What are your dreams? What could possibly interest Tennessee Kid Cooper so much that he'll do anything he can to get it? Even if that means breaking a few laws?"

"...My family," Tennessee answered flatly.

"Your family," Weasen mocked. "How typical. Think Cooper, think! Think bigger! You're a master thief with many talents! There has to be something you desire - something you crave! I know your type, Tennessee...you have bigger plans than acts of larceny committed towards your fellow criminals! What are they?"

Tennessee stared at the weasel, letting the words sink in. What did he want? Tennessee looked back on his life, remembering his first heist that he pulled by himself. Since those days, he had earned himself a name in the West. He was Tennessee Kid Cooper, the master thief. He could swipe anything from anyone. Those days were nice, but after discovering Hindus Valley by mistake, he was proven that was a happy accident. He made friends, gained allies who he could trust. But most of all, he gained Jessica Evans, the only woman who could actually make him a better man. And now this twisted circus man was holding her hostage somewhere in this very building.

"...Tennessee," called Weasen. "I am a man of many talents myself. Tell me what it is you truly desire in life, and I can help you. Think about it! You and I have our own great accomplishments! What's a better match than magic and master thievery?! With both our skills combined, we can live like kings in this godless country! Outlaws from all around would kneel before us, knowing that we are the alpha males who dominate the rest of this wild and untamed country! We can do it, Tennessee...we really can. What do you say, Cooper? Does that sound like the life a thief like yourself deserves living?"

"...No."

"Pardon?"

Tennessee shot his head up and snarled at the weasel. "NO!"

Weasen watched as Tennessee shot up from his seat and started approaching the stage. He snapped his fingers to teleport Tennessee away from his location, but found that the raccoon wasn't keen on giving up so easily. The weasel started to sweat nervously, noticing that no matter how far away he moved Tennessee, he was still making his way towards the stage.

"That's not the life I want!" Tennessee barked before being teleported to the back row of the theater again. "That's not a life! A life is with friends!"

Weasen snapped his fingers again.

"...A life is with family!"

Weasen's fingers started to hurt as he continued to transport Tennessee to the back row once more.

"A life is living your best while making the right choices! It's about learning from your mistakes and wanting to strive to be better! It's about love! It's about pain! It's about finding who you are! I know who I am! I am Tennessee Kid Cooper, the most wanted outlaw in the West! And who the hell are you, Weasen?! Just some con-artist scamin' folks with cheap magic tricks and hurtin' those who have done no wrong! We both may be on the opposite side of the law, but I have honor! I have a heart! I have love in my life! And you have nothin'!"

"ENOUGH!"

Tennessee was thrown back towards the double doors, the theater chairs flying off their hinges from the weasel's outburst. Tennessee looked up on the stage to see Weasen fuming with anger, his cane's handle sparking.

"You want to be impressed, Cooper?! You want to see a magic trick?! Then how about this one?!"

Weasen waved his cane into the air, spawning Jessica on stage. She was tied down onto a chair, her legs and arms tightly restrained. Her mouth was also tied shut, her muffled screams being all that could be heard. Behind here were a couple barrels of TNT, with a fuse line snaking its way around the entire auditorium. Tennessee was about to race towards the stage until he heard some snickers from the upper levels of the auditorium. He turned and looked up to see some of Weasen's rat and horned lizard goons. One of the lizards lit the fuse before jumping down, the others following. Weasen let out a laugh and watched as Tennessee was soon surrounded.

"Come on out, boys!" Weasen called out. "It's showtime!"

Tennessee took out his cane and prepared to fend off his attackers. Weasen's goons leaped into action, nearly catching Tennessee off-guard. He jumped up into the air and walked across the auditorium by using the goons' heads as stepping stones. He then jumped into the air and spun around before firing a couple shots, killing a few of the henchmen. Once landed, Tennessee dashed towards the herd and swung his cane, causing serious damage while also trying to avoid being tackled.

Jessica watched as Tennessee continued to fend off the goons. Weasen stood right next to her, clearly enjoying himself. Tennessee noticed that the fuse was almost off the balcony. His distraction, however, gave Weasen's goons the opportunity to tackle and pin him down onto the ground. Jessica's muffled screams filled the room while Weasen let out a chuckle and clapped his hands together.

Peering through the bodies on top of him, Tennessee noticed how scared Jessica was. There was a fuse making its way towards her, and he was being held against his will from saving her. The sheer thought of Jessica being blown to smithereens made Tennessee furious. So, with all his strength, he shoved the goons off of him with a yell and began firing his gun at any of the goons that got in his way. Weasen's expression fell flat, now unamused.

"Pardon me, my dear, but I think a change in scenery is an order." Weasen spoke to Jessica while his men were getting slaughtered.

Once Tennessee was finished, he sprung around to go rescue Jessica, until a zap of lightning struck him, making him fly back towards the back of the auditorium and crash onto the wall. He groaned as he got up and saw his attacker. Weasen got off from the stage and held his cane up high, ready to fire another shot.

"If you want something done right, you best do it yourself…" Weasen muttered irritably under his breath. "Alright, Mister Cooper! Here it is: the grand finale! Are you prepared for your final act?"

"I was 'bout ta ask you the same thing!" Tennessee retorted.

"Hm," Weasen replied. "We'll see who'll have the final bow! As the French say, Mister Cooper - en guarde!"

Tennessee was met with more lighting strikes from the weasel's cane. He was able to dodge to the best of his ability. Once Tennessee got close enough to the weasel, he disappeared with a puff of red smoke. Weasen reappeared in the back of the room, playing cards now in his hands.

"Pick a card, Mister Cooper! Any card!"

Weasen threw the cards at Tennessee. The raccoon gasped by the sudden change in attack and leaped away. One card actually managed to get him, slicing across his arm, ripping his shirt sleeve and drawing blood in the process. Tennessee groaned in pain as he clutched onto his arm before crashing onto the floor.

Before Tennessee could react, something wrapped itself around his ankle. Once Tennessee looked, he spotted a whip of different colored handkerchiefs clutched in Weasen's hand had wrapped itself around his ankle. Tennessee tried to untie his restraints, but failed. Weasen noticed this and grinned.

"Leaving so soon, Cooper?" Weasen noticed that the fuse was getting closer to Jessica, much to his delight. Both Jessica and Tennessee noticed this as well, scaring them to no end. Weasen then turned and brought his attention back onto the male raccoon. "Now have a seat and enjoy the show!"

Tennessee yelped in surprise as he was lifted up into the air, spun around to be wrapped up before being body-slammed onto the ground. He groaned in pain, mentally apologizing to Sheriff Fox, for he now understood what that felt like. Tennessee wiggled on the ground, trying to break free so that he can save Jessica. Weasen's cane soon hit the floor next to his face, causing Tennessee to stop and look up at the looming weasel.

"Poor, poor Tennessee…" Weasen spoke. "No allies to save him now. How does it feel to be the loser, Cooper? Hurts, doesn't it? And now this building is going to be blown to high heaven! With you out of the way, I can rebuild my empire and start fresh! Hindus Valley will be mine, and you two lovebirds will burn! But look on the bright side, Cooper: you have each other! Now…" he knelt down to get closer to Tennessee's body. "Enjoy the show. It's quite impolite to disturb a leading lady's performance."

Tennessee continued to struggle in his restraints. Just when he thought it was over, Tennessee noticed one of the handkerchiefs was tearing. Probably due to his wiggling. So, without a doubt, Tennessee continued to wiggled against the ground, his restraints tearing apart.

"Ya know what, Weasen?" Tennessee spoke. "Yer right, it is awfully rude. So why don't ya sit yerself down?!"

Weasen gasped in shock as Tennessee ripped from his restraints and sucker punched him in the face, knocking the weasel a few feet away. Tennessee quickly grabbed his cane and jumped onto the stage, chasing the fuse as it was inching closer. With the sharp hook on his cane, Tennessee cut the fuse line, saving both their lives.

Jessica's eyes began to water and her breath was now at a rapid pace. Relief began to overflow her as she was soon free from her restraints.

"Tennessee!" she squealed as she jumped up and engulfed her savior in a hug.

Tennessee was startled at first, but soon found himself embracing her back, relieved that his sweetheart is safe. Jessica rested her head on Tennessee's shoulder, her eyes closed as a breath escaped her partly-opened mouth. Once she opened her eyes, they widened with horror.

"T-TENNESSEE!"

"Huh? AWK!"

Tennessee was hit with an unseen force, causing him to fly to the back of the stage and crash onto the wall. He groaned in pain, noticing that a knife was jammed into his shoulder. He looked up to a fuming Weasen with a pistol in hand.

"I've had enough! No more games!" Weasen clicked the gun and aimed for Tennessee. "Goodbye...Tennessee Kid Cooper."

BANG

Tennessee flinched as he watched Weasen stumble forward in wide-eyed shock before falling to the ground, dead as a doornail with blood seeping from a bullet hole in his head. Once the weasel's body was down, Tennessee looked in awe as he saw Jessica standing a few feet behind where Weasen once stood. She had his Cooper cane in hand, smoke emerging from the gun's barrel. Jessica stood there, shaken from what she had just done. The sound of Tennessee's groans caught her attention, and she quickly ran towards Tennessee's side.

"Tennessee!" she exclaimed, kneeling down while placing the cane right next to them. "Are you- Oh my god!" she noticed the knife in his shoulder.

"J-Jessica…" he groaned.

Jessica looked panicked. "Okay...Okay, just hang on, Tennessee. This may hurt a little, so...I'm awfully sorry…"

Tennessee's eyes shot wide open as Jessica forcibly removed the knife, causing him to scream. Jessica flinched, tossing the knife to the side before ripping a long piece of her dress from the bottom.

"Here…" she quickly tied the cloth around Tennessee, applying pressure to the wound. "This should stop the bleedin'...fer now. Are ya okay, Tennessee?"

"Are ya kiddin' me? That's my question…" Tennessee remarked, soon flinching to more pain from the wound.

Jessica shook her head. "I'm fine, but...enough 'bout me! Look at you! We need ta get ya some medical attention!"

"Jessica…"

"What?" Jessica nearly snapped, her mind focused on getting him some help.

Tennessee placed his hand onto Jessica's arm, a small smile appearing on his face. He then pulled her close, meeting his lips with hers. After a few seconds of pure bliss, Jessica pulled away and stared at him.

"I love you."

Jessica's face flushed. "Tennessee…" she sighed, helping him get up. She then reached down and grabbed Tennessee's cane, offering it to him as a walking stick. As the duo slowly made their way through the auditorium, making sure to stay clear of any bodies, Jessica turned and looked up at the man who had saved her. A smile appeared on her face.

"I love you, too."

"THERE THEY ARE! THEY'RE ALIVE! BOTH OF 'EM!"

The crowd turned to see both Tennessee and Jessica making it back. People began racing towards them, helping them both off Dash's saddle. Tennessee was escorted to receive medical help while some of the women raced towards Jessica.

"Oh my god!" Stacy shrieked. "What happened?!"

"Weasen tried ta kill us both by blowin' up the theater." replied Jessica with a frown. "That rat bastard was probably gonna get himself killed, but I doubt he woulda cared if it meant he'd be takin' Tennessee with him."

Percy, who had overheard Jessica from Tennessee's side, turned around and made his way towards the duo.

"What?! That's insane!"

"What exactly happened ta Weasen?" Warden Jones questioned.

Tennessee couldn't help but grin. "Jessica got the honor of shootin' his brains out with my gun!" he said with a hint of pride before wincing in pain due to the stitches being applied to his wounds.

Everyone's expressions turned to surprise as they all stared at Jessica, who was now flustered from the sudden attention. However, all attention was soon brought onto a familiar figure making his way through the crowd, both Sheriff Fox and Deputy Beaks assisting him.

"Jessica!"

"Daddy!" Jessica's eyes lit up, happy tears forming as she quickly ran into her father's embrace. "You're okay!"

"Course I am!" beamed Mayor Evans. "Will take a lot more ta kill this old bastard. I'm just glad yer safe."

Tennessee smiled as he watched the scene before him. He was content knowing that Jessica and her father were both alive and reunited. Looking around, Tennessee could see family and friends reuniting, checking to see if each other are alright, getting together to mourn those they may have lost, or to simply try to make the best of things. The thief smiled; this is what life was. Not just to be alive, but to live. Live to go through all the ups and downs, to be able to fall into the darkest of places and resurface from those shadows. At the end of it all, a rainbow had shone over the clouds. The Rancid Riders were no more, Weasen was dead, and it was all thanks to those who stood up for what they believed in and to protect what mattered.

Their home.

The moment was short-lived for Tennessee, when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Looking up from his spot was Warden Jones giving him a knowing look. After the last of his stitches were securely placed, Tennessee sighed and nodded his head. Jessica broke away from her father's embrace as she noticed Tennessee making his way towards them. She frowned, sensing that something was wrong.

"Jessica…" Tennessee began. "This is the end. This is the last time we'll see each other."

"Wh-What?" Jessica blinked in shock. "Wh-What are you sayin'?"

Tennessee let out a sigh, a wave of sadness hitting him. "Please Jessica, don't make this harder than it already is."

Jessica's questionable gaze soon fell onto Warden Jones, who stood by the medical cot where Tennessee once was. She looked back and forth between the two, until realization struck.

"N-No…" she whispered.

"Jessica…"

"No!" Jessica shook her head, taking Tennessee's hands into hers. "Why?! Why do ya gotta go ta jail?!" she looked over Tennessee's shoulder to give Warden Jones a glare. "WHY DOES HE GOTTA GO?!"

"Jessica!" Tennessee tried to hush her.

At this point, bystanders were rubbernecking to see what the commotion was about. The vixen stood there, guilt slowly coming onto her. It felt wrong, but it was the right thing. Sheriff Fox approached Warden Jones, letting out a sigh and shaking his head before looking back at Tennessee and Jessica.

Tennessee took Jessica's hands and squeezed them. "I made a promise, Jessica. I promised that once this was all over, I'd go with them freely. And a promise is a promise; I can't break that."

"Seriously?!"

All heads turned to Becca, looking on in irate disbelief at what was occuring before her.

"Yer tellin' me that after all of this; after all the trauma, carnage, heartbreak and terror we've all had ta go through ta see that those psychos would never harm us or anyone again, yer just gonna go and spoil our victory by lettin' yerself be hauled off in chains?!"

Jessica shook her head, tears threatening to spill. "This ain't fair! I love you…"

"I made a promise," Tennessee repeated. "I honor every promise I make. It may not sound right ta you, but I can't outrun this. I'm sorry."

Percy, Rudy, and Stacy stood there, watching in silence.

"Tennessee…" Percy spoke quietly.

Warden Jones let out a sigh, watching as Tennessee gave Jessica a kiss on the cheek before slowly drifting away.

"Wait," Warden Jones spoke up. Tennessee stopped, his fingers barely brushing against Jessica's. He watched as the vixen started making her way towards them. "I can't do this. Not anymore. Deal's off, Cooper."

Tennessee blinked. "Excuse me?"

"Did I stutter?" Warden Jones quipped. She noticed the raccoon's confusion. "Look, I know ya made a promise ta go with me freely. But...what's the point? Ya may be an outlaw, but I saw somethin' in ya. Ya managed to outwit Weasen and the Riders numerous times, protected a whole town, and even managed ta show me that...well…"

"Yes?" Tennessee's eyes lit up.

"Ya...I mean…" Warden Jones flushed.

Sheriff Fox let out a chuckle and approached the vixen, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"I believe what she's tryin' ta say, Tennessee, is that maybe ya ain't so bad after all. Did I hit the nail on the head, Warden?"

Tennessee looked at the vulpine with a grin. "Why, Sheriff...did ya just refer to me by name?"

"Don't push it, Cooper."

"Ya do like me!" Tennessee beamed, further embarrassing the sheriff.

"Can it!"

"Aww, it's okay, John! Yer my best friend, too!"

Sheriff Fox grumbled as he rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Ringtail."

Deputy Beaks then stepped forward to address the raccoon. "I believe what the Sheriff and Warden are trying to say is, Tennessee, that you've managed to prove us wrong. Maybe not everyone on the opposite side of the law is completely evil like those Rancid Riders and Weasen."

"S-So...I'm free ta go?" Tennessee asked.

"Fer now…" Sheriff Fox nodded. "But yeah."

"On one condition," Warden Jones declared.

Tennessee nodded. "Anythin'! Ya name it!"

Warden Jones hummed. "Community service as a railroad worker for six months."

"That all?"

"Unless you'd rather go ta Iron Rock for six months…"

At the mention of Iron Rock, Tennessee frantically shook his hands in protest. "No, no no! Railroad work is just fine!"

"I'm glad we can agree on somethin, then," Warden Jones quipped. She turned around and started walking away, Sheriff Fox and Deputy Beaks following her. "Report ta me next week, Cooper! Ya start Monday!"

"Warden!"

The vixen turned her head to see a familiar ball roll in her direction before uncurling to reveal Gold-Tooth Tom, holding his arms out in acceptance.

"I'd hate to see a lady of the law return home empty-handed and I believe you deserve a prisoner to take back to your penitentiary for all this."

Warden Jones looked down at the armadillo. She noticed some of her surviving men from Iron Rock approaching with shackles. With a nod, she allowed the bulls to cuff him.

"Very well, Gold-Tooth. As of this moment, you are hereby arrested fer the involvement of this crime against Hindus Valley. We'll discuss yer sentence back at Iron Rock."

Gold-Tooth Tom did not say anything while being cuffed, only nodded and accepting his fate. Just as he was being escorted to one of Iron Rock's carriages, Tennessee began to follow. The raccoon approached the outlaw as soon as he was securely locked up. The two exchanged knowing looks.

"You know...I'm the one who killed Blood-Red Ted," Tom stated. "Shot him through the chest, then the head. I have no regrets. Hell, I even managed to save Warden Jones and Sheriff Fox."

Tennessee looked a bit surprise by this news. "I see," he nodded. "Well, I suppose I should thank ya, Gold-Tooth."

Tom shook his head. "No, thank you. Believe it or not, I actually couldn't find the courage to finally stand up for myself until you came along."

"Me?"

"I may be on my way to be a jailbird in the cells of Iron Rock, Cooper," Tom smiled peacefully. "But now that I no longer need to answer to Weasen...I feel as free as an eagle in the sky."

Tennessee gave the armadillo a sad smile. "Well, I gotta say, Gold-Tooth, yer quite the character. And...well...I know yer happy 'bout all this, but keep in mind that ya still did terrible things. You'll at least have ta answer fer that."

"I know," Tom nodded. "And that's fine. All my life, I was always being pushed around. When I finally stood up for myself - when I ended Blood-Red Ted's life - I felt free. I may now be caged like a bird, but at least I'll be a happy one who can finally live for myself."

"Don't worry," Warden Jones approached, couldn't help but overhearing the exchange between the two. "Fer savin' my life, I'll go a bit easy on ya. A bit."

"Lovely," Tom replied. He began to feel the carriage rocking, signaling it was time for him to go. He looked back and gave Tennessee one last look. "Farewell, Cooper. Make the most of it."

Tennessee tipped his hat. "You two, Gold-Tooth."

"Say Tom!" Rudy rushed up to the armadillo, who looked surprised. His eyes widened further when the boy wrapped his arms around him in a gentle hug before pulling away with a grateful smile. "Thanks fer not rattin' me out ta Weasen and helpin' me escape the Valley ta save Tennessee."

Gold-Tooth Tom nodded, giving Rudy a smile as the carriage started moving, leaving Hindus Valley. Everyone in town watched as Iron Rock's carriage soon disappeared from their sight, silence soon filling the air. Tennessee looked down at the young jackrabbit next to him.

"Gold-Tooth was the reason fer my freedom?"

"Yup!" Rudy nodded. "He helped me escape after I snuck out from the town hall! It was intense!"

"Wow…" Tennessee scratched the back of his neck.

The sound of a throat being cleared caught Tennessee's attention. He turned around to see Sheriff Fox and Deputy Beaks.

"Ya may have gotten out of this once more, Cooper. But just know that once yer community service is up, I'll be houndin' ya. This-" he motioned between the two of them. "-is not over."

"Oh, I'm countin' on it," Tennessee smirked. "But you'll have ta catch me doin' somethin' bad first!"

Sheriff Fox rolled his eyes. "I'll be waiting, Cooper. Boys, let's head out!"

Everyone watched as Sheriff Fox and his posse got on their horses and left town. Soon afterwards, Jessica, Percy, Stacy and Strongtusk rejoined Tennessee and Rudy. The female raccoon took Tennessee's hands into hers, a joyful smile on her face.

"Yer gonna be okay!" she announced.

"Yeah…" Tennessee sighed. "But now I'm stuck with railroad duty."

"But fer six months," Percy reminded. "Look at it this way, you'll have a clean slate after that!"

Stacy let out a giggle."Yeah, just so he can dirty that slate again!"

Tennessee gave her a grin. "Ya know me so well."

Strongtusk smiled. "I sense great things happening in the future, Tennessee. Many wonderful things."

"Oh yeah?" Tennessee asked, now walking towards the lake with the group. "Like what?"

"You will find out soon enough." Strongtusk replied with a wink.

Tennessee smiled at his indian companion and continued to walk with his friends. It all seemed like a blur. One moment, they were all fighting for their lives. But here they were now, together again and living life. It would probably take some time to repair the damages done to the town, but at least the nightmare was finally over.

Now, the town of Hindus Valley could finally find peace.

~ Six Months Later ~

It was now January. The weather had gotten a lot cooler, snow was coming and going, and people were catching colds left and right. However, despite all the negatives, there were also the positives. Mayor Evans had gotten his position in office back. It took some effort - especially with the townsfolk still weary of Weasen's family tree - but after a while, earning back the trust of Hindus Valley was easy. Three months after the final confrontation with the Rancid Riders, Mayor Evans had finally placed Hindus Valley back on the map. People from all over the West were now visiting the town, making trades and even assisting in any repairs. The town even got a new sheriff. Deputy Beaks had finally been promoted, and after pulling a few strings, got a position as Hindus Valley's newest lawman. Sheriff Fox felt bittersweet to see his faithful partner go, but that was alright. He found himself a new partner; a certain vixen, to be precise.

Warden Jones continued to run Iron Rock, but things were now different. Instead of tormenting the prisoners, she had decided to go a bit easier on them. Warden Jones still made her prisoners keep in line and made sure they were well behaved, but she managed to step back enough for them to not kill themselves.

Strongtusk returned to his tribe, where he had become the new chief. His people continued to live and added new members and allies to their cause. The forest felt a lot safer with him in charge, and those who passed through no longer had to face their wrath.

Percy and Rudy continued to work on their farm. Sometime after the battle, they finally got the chance to give their Grandpa Jack a proper funeral. It was devastating, but they had comfort, knowing that he was now in a much better place. Stacy would show up at the farm more frequently now that she and Percy were officially seeing each other. She would help out with any of the chores and cook for them after a long days work. Percy and Rudy started to feel like it was their home again, and Stacy added an unexpected pizzazz to the mix.

Tennessee, much to his displeasure, worked on the railroads as promised. He worked all day until his body was sore. But it was all worth it. He had his freedom, got breaks, and as his shift ended, his life began all over again. Once the sun had set, Tennessee would stop by the Evans Mansion to join Jessica and Mayor Evans for supper, before heading back home. He still returned to his old hideout in Cottonmouth Bluff every now and then, collecting any treasures he may have gathered. Or sometimes, he would crash there for the night and sleep. It felt nice being back in his old bed.

Jessica was currently brushing her hair in front of her bedroom's vanity. She was wearing a white dress with baby-blue trims. She hummed a song that her mother used to sing to her as a little girl. Just as she was about done, a knock came at her door.

"Come in!" she announced.

The door creaked open, revealing Mayor Evans. The female raccoon looked up and noticed her father's reflection. She smiled and turned around before getting up.

"Good evening, Daddy!" she approached him. "What can I do fer ya?"

"There's a surprise waitin' fer ya downstairs, sugar-plum." Mayor Evans' face beamed with joy. He took his daughter's hand and gently rubbed the back of it. "It's somethin' wonderful."

"Fer me?" Jessica asked, now being escorted down the hall. "What's the occasion?"

Mayor Evans let out a chuckle. "You'll have ta see fer yerself, now won't you?"

Before Jessica could question her father anymore, her eyes were soon met with a familiar figure standing at the bottom of the staircase by their front door. There Tennessee stood, wearing a blue and white checkered shirt with a navy blue vest. He smiled as soon as he spotted Jessica.

"Whoa," he chuckled, motioning to their outfits. "Guess we have a similar taste in colors today."

"Tennessee?" Jessica made her way down the stairs, approaching the male with a look of curiosity. "What are ya doin' here? Dontcha gotta be at the railroad?"

Tennessee gave her a sheepish grin. "I may have managed ta convince Warden Jones ta let me out of my community service early. It was my last day, and I guess she felt generous."

Jessica looked taken back. "Well, that's awfully generous of her."

Tennessee nodded. "It sure was," he then held his arm out, waiting for Jessica to take hold of it. "Shall we?"

"Where are we goin'?" Jessica wondered, looping her arm around his.

"It's a surprise," Tennessee winked, tapping the tip of her nose with a grin.

The two soon exited the mansion, making a sharp left and down the hill behind the building. Jessica soon found herself by the large tree that loomed over the lake, which was now partly frozen. She felt her cheeks heat up at the male's touch, wondering how he managed to stay warm in this weather. Once they reached the bottom of the hill, Tennessee unlooped their arms and took Jessica's hands into his.

"Jessica," he started. "Are ya happy?"

"Hm?" Jessica looked up at him. "Well, of course I am."

"With me? Are ya happy with me?"

Jessica gave Tennessee a skeptical look. "Tennessee, I'm always happy with ya. What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"I am," Tennessee assured. "I just wanted ta know if you are, is all. I mean, I am an outlaw after all. I steal, run away from gunfire, and barely make it out of sticky situations. Does that bother ya?"

Jessica smiled at Tennessee with assurance. "No, not at all," she shook her head. "I will admit, there are times that I worry, but you've proven me wrong several times. Yer a survivor, Tennessee, and that's a blessin'."

"I'm glad," Tennessee agreed. "But another thing I want ta know…"

"Yes?"

Tennessee cleared his throat. "What if...by any chance...we continue this? What if I'm out on the run, and yer at home, worryin' sick 'bout me? What if I attract any unwanted attention to ya? I don't want anything bad ta happen to you, Jessica. I care 'bout ya too much."

"I'm aware that our relationship is a little...unorthodox. But I have faith in ya, Tennessee. I always have, and I always will. And I don't care what people may say 'bout our love. What matters is that I love you, and that there will never be a time that I'm unhappy with you."

Tennessee smiled at the female's response. "I'm glad ya feel that way, Jessica. Because I feel that way, too. More than you can ever know. During these past few months, I've been doin' a lot of thinkin'."

"About what?"

"About us…" Tennessee replied. "I want us ta be together, Jessica. I want ya ta be safe and happy. I want ta give ya everything you could ever dream of, because you deserve it. You're my life, Jessica, and I'd die without ya."

"Tennessee…" Jessica smiled, her heart thumping by the declaration. "You've already given me everything I could ever want."

"Not everything…" Tennessee disagreed. "You deserve a lot more. You deserve a home with love, family...and so much more in the future. You deserve what I hope I can give ya."

"Tennessee...W...what are ya sayin?" Jessica asked in breathless awe.

Tennessee let go of Jessica's hands and knelt to the ground, retrieving something out of his shirt's front pocket before displaying it in front of the she-coon. Jessica's eyes went wide with shock and covered her mouth. She stared at the small ring with beauty and wonder. Was this really happening?

"Jessica Evans…" Tennessee asked with utmost humility. "Will you marry me?"

"Oh, Tennessee…" Jessica breathed, eyes welling up with unshed tears. "Yes...Yes, of course."

That's all Tennessee needed to know. With a smile, he slide the ring on Jessica's left ring finger before getting up to embrace her. Mayor Evans stood and watched from the back porch, wiping a few tears from his eyes.

"My darlin' little girl…" he sighed. "All grown up."

Word of Tennessee and Jessica's engagement spread through the valley like wildfire. Upon hearing the news, everyone in Hindus Valley began to prepare for the wedding, especially Stacy, who had been given the honor of Jessica's maid of honor. She had wedding fever, making sure everything arranged for her best friend's big day was absolutely perfect. The wedding was just an hour away, and the location was already flooded with guests. Instead of the traditional ceremony at the church, the wedding was taking place near the lake, surrounded by frost-covered trees. The sunlight that managed to pierce through the thick clouds made what little snow they had sparkle, which made the scenery seem brighter than everyone could imagine.

There Tennessee stood in front of the partly frozen lake, underneath the archway designed by some of the local women in town. The thief wore a simple white shirt with a black vest, sporting a matching bowler hat and boots. On his right, Sheriff Fox, Beaks and Strongtusk stood, as his groomsmen. A familiar figure started sprinting down the aisle, running out of breath before stopping in front of Tennessee.

"There ya are, Percy!" Tennessee quipped with a grin.

"S-Sorry…!" the jackrabbit apologized, standing up straight while fixing his jacket. "Rudy almost lost the rings and needed help. He's fine now; everything's all good."

Tennessee, nodded and patted the jackrabbit's shoulder as he made his way to Sheriff Fox's side. On the opposite end of the archway stood Jessica's bridesmaids, which consisted of Warden Jones, Miss Benson and a sow Tennessee recognized as Georgia, the girl he met months ago at a day at the lake. Right next to Warden Jones, with her shoulder barely brushing the archway, was Stacy, whose ears were making a heart shape as she gave a loving gaze at a blushing Percy.

Gazing around, Tennessee chuckled at the sight of Gold-Tooth Tom seated in one of the pews. Though it had taken some convincing from Rudy, Warden Jones had agreed to let the armadillo attend the wedding...supervised, that is. So there he sat, smiling warmly in spite of wearing prison stripes and shackles on his wrists and ankles and being seated between two of Warden Jones' hulking bovine guards, who were sniffling and shedding tears despite how the ceremony had yet to begin.

Tennessee closed his eyes and took a deep breath, smiling as if he had just realized that he was soon to be married. It was a happy day, indeed. Never in his life would he imagine settling down. Hell, Tennessee never would have imagined that a lady would want to marry an outlaw anyway.

The thief opened his eyes and looked up at the sky, silently thanking his father and Sheriff Henderson. He wished they could both be here on this day, that things could be different. Whatever was going to happen from this day onward, Tennessee only hoped he could continue to make them both proud.

Tennessee's thoughts were soon interrupted after hearing music, followed by a chorus of 'awws'. Looking at the aisle, Tennessee spotted Becca wearing an adorable white dress with a violet trim walking down the frosted path, tossing purple petals into the air from a basket. Soon following her was Rudy, holding pillow with two rings while also dressing nice for the occasion. Becca soon took her place next to the bridesmaids, as did Rudy with the groomsmen.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, Jessica Evans was soon walking down the aisle, her father guiding her with his right arm looped around her left. Tennessee smiled, admiring his bride in the beautiful white dress. Jessica soon met Tennessee under the archway, her father soon taking his seat in the front row. Tennessee carefully lifted the veil away from Jessica's face, taking in her beauty. She was glowing.

"Hi," he silently spoke.

"Hi," she replied, her smile growing.

The priest cleared his throat, making everyone go silent.

"Dearly beloved," he spoke. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two young souls. One from our home of many generations, and one from jail."

The audience let out a series of chuckles, making Tennessee blush. He gave a quick glance at both Warden Jones and Sheriff Fox, who surprisingly found the joke just as amusing.

"Nonetheless," continued the priest. "God has brought them together. After this day, they shall finally find the joy and happiness that they deserve. After this day...they'll finally have each other. Now, if we can get onto the vows…"

Percy nudged Rudy, directing him to step forward with the rings. He stopped in between Tennessee and Jessica, lifting up the pillow as high as he can so that they can collect the jewelry.

"Tennessee…" Jessica spoke, taking the ring off the pillow. "All my life, all I ever wanted was ta meet the one person who can make me forget 'bout this crazy world we live in. After a while, I was startin' ta doubt I'd ever get a happy endin'. But that all changed once I met you. Day after day, you continued ta surprise me. You care 'bout me, 'bout others, and most of all...you saved us. You really were my hero - just like the ones my mother always read ta me 'bout. I don't care what people may say 'bout you. You may be a thief - an outlaw - but none of that matters, as long as I am happy with the man who managed ta steal my heart. And you, Tennessee Kid Cooper, make me the happiest gal on this earth. I love you, and I forever shall."

Tennessee smiled happily as Jessica slid the ring onto his finger.

"Jessica…" he spoke, taking the second ring off Rudy's pillow before he slipped back to join Percy's side. "I know exactly what I am: a thief. It's true what they say 'bout me. I am an outlaw, and not a single badge can ever change that. I thought all I was ever gonna do my whole life was run away from the law without a purpose. But just like me, you have also changed my life. When I first met you, I was taken aback. You were breathtaking, heartfelt, and certainly adorable when feisty." there were some chuckles in the audience before Tennessee continued. "You showed me love; something no one has ever truly done for me before my pa died. I've collected many treasures over the years, but today, I finally snatch the most precious treasure I've ever came across. You."

Jessica smiled, tears dripping from her eyes as Tennessee slid the ring onto her finger.

"Tennessee Cooper," the priest spoke up. "Do you take Jessica Evans to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?"

Tennessee nodded, his eyes never leaving Jessica. "I do."

"And do you, Jessica Evans," the priest nodded towards the female. "take Tennessee Cooper to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?"

"I do." Jessica answered.

"Well then," the priest cleared his throat. "With God as my witness, and with the power invested in me, I now declare you husband and wife. You may now kiss the- okay then."

The priest didn't have time to finish before Jessica latched herself onto Tennessee, attacking his lips with her own. The audience began to cheer and stand up from where they were sitting. Once they parted lips, Tennessee scooped Jessica up and made their way down the aisle.

"JESSICA! OVER HERE! OVER HERE!"

Tennessee paused and turned them around, both of them sporting grins when they saw a herd of women racing towards them, reaching their arms out high. Jessica laughed and tossed the bouquet in her hands. Stacy jumped high in the air and caught it, making the surrounding girls groan in disappointment. Percy and Rudy joined Stacy's side as Tennessee and Jessica continued on their way.

"We're next ta get married!" Stacy cheered, pulling Percy close.

Percy chuckled. "We might as well…" he said, placing his hand on her lower stomach.

Tennessee and Jessica eventually make it to the carriage that they got to take off for their honeymoon. Tennessee helped his wife onto the wagon, but before he could join her, was stopped with a tap on his shoulder. Tennessee turned and grinned.

"Howdy Sheriff,"

Sheriff Fox nodded, holding out his hand. "Congratulations, Cooper."

"Well thanks," Tennessee gladly shook the vulpine's hand. "So...what now? You ain't gonna try ta catch me on my honeymoon, now are ya? 'Cause that's just wrong, even by my standards."

"No, I won't chase ya. Not yet, anyway."

"Oh?" Tennessee lifted an eyebrow. "So I'm still on yer list?"

Sheriff Fox chuckled. "Yeah, I guess ya'll can say that. I'll always be after ya, Cooper, so don't ferget it. My weddin' gift to you is this: a long, happy honeymoon. However, once yer back…"

"Okay, I see how it is," Tennessee grinned. "I'll make sure ta make quite the entrance, then."

"And I'll be ready," Sheriff Fox agreed. "And this time, you best up yer game, 'cause I won't be alone this time…"

Tennessee looked to his right, spotting Warden Jones talking to Mayor Evans. A grin appeared on the raccoon's face as he turns around to face a now flustered Sheriff Fox.

"Why, Sheriff, you sly dog…"

"We're not there yet," Sheriff Fox warned before the raccoon could get any ideas. "We've just been...gettin' ta know each other, is all. Been workin' on a few cases together, actually."

"So now the Warden of Iron Rock is yer partner in the law? Okay, okay...this could get interestin'."

Sheriff Fox rolled his eyes, finding the raccoon's cockiness annoying. He placed his hand on Tennessee's shoulder, giving it a firm shake before nodding. Once he let him go, Sheriff Fox turned and started making his way towards the vixen.

"Hey Sheriff," Tennessee called, getting the vulpine's attention. "May I recommend using those handcuffs fer somethin' else when workin' with her?"

"Fuck you, Cooper." Sheriff Fox cursed, his face now redder than a tomato.

"I love ya, too!" Tennessee called out, laughing as he climbed onto the wagon and joined Jessica's side.

Jessica gave her husband a knowing look. "You two are like a cat and a mouse."

"Yup!" Tennessee agreed, getting the horses to start pulling them away. "And I wouldn't dream of it bein' different! And speakin' of dreamin'...what was that one place ya said ya always wanted ta go to?"

Jessica's eyes widen. "Tennessee...ya didn't."

"Mhm, I did!" he chirped. "Mesa City, here we come!"

Jessica smiled and snuggled into her husband's embrace. The two rode out of Hindus Valley, nothing but pure joy awaiting them as they traveled for their two-week trip. The two never would have imagined that their lives could be this perfect. Neither of them knew what the future held, but they were sure that it was an adventure that they shall never forget.

~ One Year Later ~

A WANTED poster of Tennessee flew in the desert, eventually being caught by a gloved hand. The sun beamed down on the figure standing on top of a cabin, a grin appearing on the raccoon's face.

"Dead or alive, huh? And the reward's been risen? Well how 'bout that."

Tennessee grinned when he felt his left arm shake due to the object squirming against him. He looked down at the tiny figure and held the poster up to display it for the young kit.

"What do ya think, Gideon? Think they'll actually catch Daddy this time?"

The kit babbled in response, earning a chuckle from his father. "Yeah, I don't think so either."

"Tennessee? Tennessee?" called out a familiar voice. "Tennessee!" she shrieked. "Get down from there this instant! And is that...Gideon?! Tennessee Cooper, ya know I don't like ya doin' stunts with him! He's just a baby!"

Tennessee let out a chuckle before leaping down. He gave his wife an apologetic look before handing their babbling kit over to her.

"Sorry, darlin', but I couldn't help myself. He asked me to."

Jessica lifted an eyebrow as she cradled their son. "Our three month old son asked ya ta climb on top of our house while carryin' him?"

"Mhm!" Tennessee nodded. "In fact…" he let out a gasp and leaned in close. "Did ya hear that?! He did it again! See!" he then gently placed his finger under the kit's mouth, moving his bottom lip up and down while speaking in a baby voice. "It's true, Mommy, I swear! I love climbin' with Daddy! I wanna be just like him when I'm all grown up!"

Jessica rolled her eyes at her husband and let out a sigh, followed by a smile.

"Alright, alright...I'll forgive ya…" Tennessee smiled at his wife. "If ya promise ta go get some bread from town. I can't make dinner without some, and we're almost out."

Tennessee gave Jessica a mocking hurt look. "Aww, c'mon…"

"Nice try, Mister Cooper," Jessica grinned. "That's what happens when ya put our son in danger."

"Pfft, he wasn't in any danger! I held onto him good!"

"Still, ya know I hate it when ya do stuff like that with him…"

Tennessee nodded. "Okay, yer right...I'm sorry. I'll go into town and get the bread. If I don't come back...tell my son I love him!" he said dramatically.

"I'm sure Sheriff Fox won't give ya any trouble at this hour," Jessica giggled. "As long as ya actually pay this time."

"Don't be so sure 'bout that," Tennessee grinned. He kissed his wife on the lips, followed by his son's head. "Bye, you two! Will be back soon!"

"Don't dilly-dally, Tennessee!" Jessica called out, watching as her husband leaped off the mountain. She let out a sigh and shook her head with a smile. "I love him so much…"

XXXXXXXXXX

Tennessee grinned as he leapt from rooftop to rooftop. It felt good being back in his hometown. Sometime after their honeymoon, the newlyweds still needed to discuss their home plans. After much discussion - and due to Jessica's desire to see more than Hindus Valley - they decided to settle down on the outskirts of Cottonmouth Bluff in Tennessee's hidden cabin. Tennessee wasn't worried about being discovered this time, because he and his vulpine 'friend' made a deal. If Tennessee could make it pass the bushes that lead to his home, then he was free to go. Sheriff Fox loved to make a game out of it as much as the raccoon did. He didn't want to admit it, but it was actually fun chasing the coon outlaw.

A couple weeks after settling into his old cabin, Tennessee discovered that Jessica was pregnant. He felt like the happiest man in the world. So much in fact that he decided to stay by his wife's side throughout the entire pregnancy process. Tennessee had enough money already, so he already knew he could support his family. Gideon was born in late April, and he was a good mix of his parents. His fur was mostly Jessica's shade of brown, but his eyes were grey like his father's. Tennessee felt so much pride in his son, making sure to record almost every moment he can on paper to stow away in the Cooper Vault.

Jessica was just as happy - if not more - than Tennessee about their child. She made trips to Hindus Valley almost every week to show off her child to her father. Mayor Evans was overjoyed to know that he was a grandfather; he even took time out of his work during the day to spend time with him. It wasn't just her father that Jessica and Tennessee visited. About two months after their wedding, Percy and Stacy finally tied the knot. And eight months after that, Rudy was an uncle. The Wilcox farm was more lively than Tennessee expected. Stacy would dote and fawn over Gideon every time they came over, and Percy would constantly ask Tennessee for some assistance with his own little troublemakers. When Tennessee and Jessica went to visit them to meet their kid for the first time, they did not expect more than one. Actually, they never would have guessed fourteen tiny jackrabbits invading the residents. Stacy was almost a natural, while her husband and brother-in-law struggled. Percy would always beg Tennessee and Jessica to take a few of them home at the end of their visits, making Stacy scowl at him and their guests laugh.

Tennessee couldn't help but grin at the thought of his friends back in Hindus Valley. He jumped across another rooftop and landed on a telephone wire, walking across it while looking down for any sign of the baker. Usually, the town's baker would deliver bread both mornings and afternoons, so it was a hassle having to track him down. Still, it made Tennessee entertained every time he managed to swipe a loaf off of the wagon. Everything was like a game to the raccoon, which made his 'job' a lot more fun. Being a sheriff had its thrills, but Tennessee had to admit that it felt fun being the lawbreaker.

It felt like home.

A grin appeared on Tennessee's face when he finally spotted his target. A hog wearing a white white and apron pulled a half-empty wagon full of bread through the town. Tennessee waited for the baker to make a stop in front of a group of women before leaping down.

"Yoink!" he called out.

"Huh? Oh! Thief! Thief!" shouted the baker. "Get back here with that, you son of a bitch!"

"Thanks fer the bread!" Tennessee shouted, tossing some coins towards the hog before leaping on top of another building.

Tennessee let out a laugh as he continued to make his escape, listening to the baker's swears. Just as Tennessee landed at the clock tower, a bullet zipped pass him and collided with the ground a few inches in front of him.

"Hold it right there!" came a familiar voice.

Tennessee grinned as he turned around, spotting the vulpine on top of a building across from his location.

"Howdy, Sheriff! Been a while!"

"Drop the loaf before I shoot yer hand!" shouted Sheriff Fox. "Surrender now, or else things will get messy."

Tennessee gave him an innocent look. "But...But Sheriff, I...I need this loaf of bread! My wife's cookin' dinner, and she specifically asked that I go get some. Besides, I paid fer it!"

Tennessee flinched in pain and rubbed his wrist when something whipped at him. The break loaf fell onto the ground next to him, and landing in front of the raccoon was a certain vixen.

"Miss me, Cooper?"

"Why, Warden Jones!" Tennessee smirked, rubbing off the rest of his pain. " Nice ta see ya too!"

"Warden Fox," the vixen corrected, smirking at the raccoon. "And I'd listen to my husband if I were you, Cooper."

"Sorry, but I don't think that I will!"

Tennessee used his cane to sweep Warden Fox off her feet, catching her by surprise. The raccoon quickly picked up the loaf of bread and made a mad dash for it, avoiding Sheriff Fox's gunshots to the best of his ability. It wasn't long before Tennessee had both law-abiding foxes on his tail, each of them on opposite sides in an attempt to corner the raccoon. Still, Tennessee was able to outsmart them. As frustrating as things were for the foxes, the thrill of the chase was all that mattered. Tennessee may have been number one on the most wanted list, but he was still seen as an ally; a friend of sorts.

"C'mon, y'all, I really don' have time fer this!" Tennessee yelled over his shoulder. "Can't leave the old lady waitin'!"

"Then ya shouldn't have robbed that baker!" Warden Fox retorted.

"I payed!"

"She's talkin' 'bout last time, Cooper!" Sheriff Fox exclaimed. "Ya also robbed that bank two days ago, 'member?"

"You foxes really don't give up, do ya?" Tennessee smirked. "In that case, catch me if ya can!"

Tennessee had to hand it to them, those two made the chase a lot more fun. Things were a lot different for the thieving raccoon now. He had friends, a family, and it was all because of a sandstorm that lead him somewhere new. Since that day years ago, Tennessee Kid Cooper felt like a changed man. He felt anew; the thrill of thieving got more exciting.

If Tennessee could sum up his adventure, then he would say one simple thing.

….That it was one for the record books.
