Midoriya got home around 4:45 A.M. His mom was still sleeping, so he shrugged and went to take a shower. There was a hole in his shirt from where Himiko stabbed him, but he didn't take much notice of it. He was dirty though. Graveyards would do that to someone, which was weird as he didn't do much there. It was likely the encounter he had with Himiko that got him all dirty.
Midoriya stepped into the shower after shedding his clothes, and for a brief moment admiring his physique. Hey, he worked for months to attain that, he was entitled to admiration. Midoriya thought back to his recent mood swings. Sometimes he felt depressed, like how he used to when he was in school, other times it accelerated much farther than that, those panic attacks were not normal. Then there was the entrance exam. The whole time he was confident and self-aware, proud of his abilities yet also calm and collected in using them. Now, he feels relatively normal. Slightly upbeat, which makes no sense as he just raised the dead, and he felt like he could be a sarcastic ass on the level of Bakugou.
Midoriya stepped out of the shower. Maybe the emotional imbalance had something to do with the blankness and emotional suppression he feels in times of panic or great emotion? It would make sense that an emotional suppressant would have some side effects on his day to day emotions. It might also just be puberty. Midoriya hoped that it would settle itself soon, he didn't want to be an unpredictable emotional mess.
He went to his room with a towel around his waist, closing his door. He started to get dressed. Midoriya went to the kitchen, figuring that now that he finished getting dressed and showered, he could make himself some breakfast, along with feeding his mother. He was feeling a western dish today, pancakes and sausages. That sounds good.
Midoriya checked the time. 5:30 A.M. He had to start heading to school soon, but he could finish eating breakfast first. It took about 15 minutes before he was done. He left a note to his mother so she knew that there was breakfast, he grabbed his bag, checked the train schedule, then ran out the door. He hoped to get there early so he could speak to Aizawa-sensei.
Once he got on the train, he was happy to note that Momo was there as well, she was probably wishing to go early. He walked over to speak with her but stopped as an obese man walked up to her and started speaking. Midoriya frowned and walked closer.
"...t is a pretty lady like you doing here so early in the morning?" he asked, his voice slightly slurred. He must be intoxicated. "Why don't I show you a good time at the next stop?" Momo looked uncomfortable, so Midoriya stepped in. He put an arm around Momo's waist and winked, kissing her on the cheek.
"Hello, Momo, is this guy bothering you?" he asked, dropping his voice to a whisper, telling her to play along. Momo nodded, looking slightly relieved, though her face was dusted with pink. Midoriya faintly acknowledged he should also be embarrassed for kissing her without her permission, but right now he was slightly annoyed with this man.
"Who the hell are you, kid?" the man glared at him. Midoriya merely grinned, baring his teeth. He started manipulating the man's shadow as he spoke to him.
"My name is Izuku Midoriya, Class 1-A of U.A.! I would say it's a pleasure, but I was taught that heroes don't lie." The shadow formed a small hand and grabbed his leg, tripping him over. "Oh dear, it seems you fell. Well, have a good day then, I'm afraid our stop is here!" Izuku grabbed Momo's hand and pulled her away from him onto the platform. Momo immediately hugged him before pulling away.
"Thanks for that, Hero-san, whatever shall I do to repay you?" she asked in a fake girly voice. Midoriya merely laughed and shook his head.
"I figured you had it handled, but decided I wanted him to piss off." Momo gasped.
"You- you swore! That was a bad word!" Midoriya was confused, though he will say he was glad that Momo and he were able to banter so easily. Then he realized it was happening a bit too easily. He should be extremely nervous about talking to her, especially as he just kissed her! Shit!
"Um… sorry?"
"You're too innocent to swear!" Momo put her hands on her hip and Midoriya blushed. It was a very cute gesture. The two of them walked into the building. Midoriya and Momo soon reached their classroom and walked in, completely unsurprised to see Tenya already there. Midoriya looked around. Aizawa was nowhere to be seen.
"Um. Excuse me." Midoriya said as he left the room and went to the teachers' lounge, knocking on the door. The door opened to show Midnight out of costume, sipping a cup of coffee.
"Um… kid, school doesn't start for another hour…"
"I need to speak with Aizawa-sensei, it… it's kind of important. Concerning my quirk." Midnight-sensei nodded at him and let him in. Aizawa unrolled from his bag, glaring at Midoriya with the hatred of a thousand suns for having the audacity to interrupt his nap.
"What is it, problem child?" Aizawa was grumpy. He was interrupted from his naps and he did not have a good night. He was up all night on patrol and he was damn tired. Midoriya shuffled for a second, before taking a deep breath and looking at Aizawa in the eyes, surprising him. Aizawa now was taking this seriously, Midoriya having so much confidence meant this was important.
"My quirk isn't what I thought it was, sensei… I-" He shuddered, causing Aizawa to be concerned. What was up with his quirk that caused him so much distress? Midoriya took a deep breath once again.
"I can animate skeletons and manipulate souls. My quirks uniting factor is a Reaper. And last night… I had a dream about some people planning on attacking All Might today, how there was a plan that he would not foresee…" Aizawa froze. What was this kid saying?
"Kid, it might have just been a dream… But the skeletons and soul manipulation? How do you know? Did you…?" he trailed off. Midoriya let out a gulp and a breath.
"I- I went to the graveyard last night. I had to know for sure. I… It's easier if I just show you." Midoirya's shadow left forward and grew longer before out of it rose a skeleton he summoned last night, who stood there awaiting orders. Aizawa let out a shuddering sigh.
"Okay kid. I'll let the principle know that we should be a bit more cautious for the next couple of days. I'll have to modify some things today…" Aizawa whispered the last bit to himself, though Midoriya still heard it. "Get to class, problem child."
"Yes, sensei." Midoriya went to class, where soon the rest of them joined him. The morning classes went as planned, along with lunch. It wasn't until they were getting ready for their heroics class that Aizawa walked in.
"Alright class, you have seen your limits of your quirks, and you have used them in a combat scenario. Now it's time for the next step." Aizawa flipped a card around, showing the words 'Rescue.' Immediately, whispers broke out throughout the class, some people excited, others not so much.
"If there is water, my quirk is perfect, kero." Tsuyu said while others were also just as excited.
"Alright, pipe down, all of you. There is going to be something different this time. Class 1-B will be joining us. Please, get along. There will be two buses. Sit where you please." The class filed out of the room and went to the buses, seeing the other class already waiting for them. Momo and Midoriya stepped forward and checked the buses. Open seating, cool. Two people walked over to them, Midoirya recognizing them as the class 1-B rep and vice rep. Monoma was still just as scary to Midoriya as ever, though not nearly as bad. Maybe today was a confident day? Midoriya's mood swings still confused him.
"Oh, looks like we are going to rescue together, class 1-B can finally prove that we are better than you chumps, HAHAHA-" Momona was cut off by a karate chop from Kendo.
"Sorry about that, anyway, how do we want to set up seating? Should we separate classes, or…"
"Thanks for that, Kendo. I was thinking we could have the classes mix on the buses, that way we can meet new people. We will all be working together anyway. Let's get them aboard." The Class Representatives told them to sit where they want on either bus. Eventually, both buses were filled with a mixture of the two classes, Midoriya and Momo sitting on one, while Monoma and Kendo were on the other. To keep the classes organized.
The class mingled well. Midoriya didn't recognize some of the faces, and so he introduced himself. From what he could see, there were about 9 people from class 1-B on this bus. Aizawa was driving this one, while Vlad King was driving the other.
"Hello, I am Izuku Midoriya, class 1-A's representative. This is Momo Yaoyorozu, my Vice Representative. I hope we get along!"
"I'm Setsuna Tokage, and I have only one question for you… You single?" Midoriya sputtered, while Momo sent a discrete glare at Tokage.
"Erm… yes? I mean-" Midoriya floundered for words, only to be shocked when the girl broke out into laughter.
"I was just kidding, Greenbean!"
"Greenbean?"
"You have green hair and you look like a precious bean."
"O-oh…" The rest of the trip was spent introducing each other to the other class and mingling amicably. Aizawa told them to pipe down, and they shuffled off the bus and into USJ. There, they saw the Space Hero, Thirteen. They waved, and before Midoriya could fanboy, Uraraka beat him to it.
"Oh my gosh, it's Thirteen! They are my favorite hero, I am so excited! She is famous for her rescue work." Thirteen chuckled.
"I'm glad I have a fan," they said, "to those of you who didn't hear, my name is Pro Hero 13, and I have a point to make. Or two. Or three. Okay, I have a couple of points to make. As you may have heard, I am a Rescue hero, I save people's lives with my quirk, Black Hole. However, my quirk could easily destroy or kill people. I am sure many of your quirks are the same." Midoriya looked down. His quirk could kill. Easily. Especially if his suspicions about his soul manipulation was correct…
"That is why we are here. So we can save lives. That's what being a hero is all about. Thank you." The students gave a polite clapping before Midoriya noticed something. He could feel it. It was just like his dream, the oppressive feeling, the cold and darkness. He saw a black and purple aura, much like his own, ooze into reality near the fountain, warping its image.
"Aizawa-sensei…" Midoriya mumbled.
"I know…" he mumbled back. Out of the black mist came dozens of people, all with bloodthirsty auras tainted with black in addition to their normal color. Huh, so apparently crimes do indeed taint one's soul. Good to know. In the center of the group were two people, one of whose soul was a grey color, though it was hard to tell from the sheer amount of black taint in it.
"Are those more robots? Is this a part of the lesson?" One of the students asked. Aizawa shook his head, his face grim.
"No," he said, looking towards them and getting into a combat stance.
"Those are villains."
