"Heya kid..." Catherine says upon noticing that Maple 2 is following her.

"Starbie!" Maple 2 gasps, clearly out of breath.

Catherine halts so Maple 2 can catch up.

"There's a Houndoom after you! Maple sent her on your trail!" Maple 2 shrieks.

"Oh no..." Catherine says with a sigh.

"I told her not to, but she wouldn't listen!" Maple 2 adds.

"I appreciate your coming to tell. Stay with me," Catherine invites.

"Sure!" Maple 2 says.

"Come, let's hurry. I need to find Kyogre," Catherine says.

"How do you know all this stuff?!" Maple 2 asks, tagging along.

"I used to watch the news all the time," Catherine says, "Kalos and Hoenn are neighbors so we share news all the time. Especially on world threatening events like this. Though I didn't think much of it at first. Because who would expect a brainless Pikachu to reawaken a primal beast?"

"Maple isn't entirely brainless..." Maple 2 comments.

The ground all around them is drying up and all the plants are wilting. Catherine wipes sweat off her furry head and pants.

"Are you sure this is the correct way to go?" Maple 2 asks.

"Certainly. Kyogre lives deep in the ocean. With all this heat, accessing the abyss should be easy," Catherine says.

"We're going underwater?!" Maple 2 asks, gasping in surprise.

Catherine chuckles.

"You're a nice kid. I can't see why Maple would want to hurt your feelings," Catherine says.

"I don't know either... Maybe that orb altered her..." Maple 2 suggests.

"That's a brilliant guess," Catherine says.

"Yay!" Maple 2 celebrates.

After a long time of walking, the shiny Pikachu and the Pichu arrive at the beach. The ocean has been evaporating so the beach is much larger than usual.

"Way out there..." Catherine whispers, mostly to herself.

Maple 2 stares out across the ocean.

"Home... Or... What used to be my home..." Catherine says with a sigh.

"I'm so sorry..." Maple 2 says.

"I didn't mean any harm..." Catherine says.

"I know..." Maple 2 says.

"You don't know my past, and yet you trust me," Catherine comments.

"Of course I trust you," Maple 2 responds.

"So... Any ideas on how we can reach Kyogre if neither of us can swim?" Catherine asks.

"That thing!" Maple 2 cries out, pointing to a sub that happens to be parked on the shore.

"Brilliant! I know how to use one of those!" Catherine squeaks.

"You do?" Maple 2 asks.

"Yep! A certain man taught me..." Catherine says, sighing again.

"Ooh, nice!" Maple 2 says, clapping her tiny paws together.

Catherine runs over on all fours and starts jumping up to touch things on a control panel stuck onto the sub door. With a few button presses, the sub pops open.

"Hold it right there!" a voice calls out suddenly.

It's Doom, she's back!
