At the end of the day, Mal had questioned her parents on allowing Jane to have her mother's magic wand. Receiving the answer she expected, Mal grudgingly traveled to Evie's dorm room to relay the message. She wasn't necessarily worried about Jane's timid response as she was Lonnie's.

With the coronation being postponed—still unbeknownst to the entire kingdom—Evie volunteered to make the dresses and suits for the transfer students; this way they could have something nice to wear for the occasion. To start the process, Evie asked the three Isle girls to meet in her dorm room so she could get their measurements.

" 'If a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it'," Mal repeated with a sigh. "I truly am sorry Jane."

Lonnie, who was leaning against a wall, scoffed at the answer. "No, you're not," she argued. "What world do you think we live in that we would believe everything you say?"

"Lonnie," Audrey scolded, her movements constrained by a measuring tape wrapped around her petite waist. "At least attempt to show some respect for the future queen. She is the reason why we are here. I'm sure she did everything possible to convince her parents to allow it."

"Audrey, you can step down," Evie instructed, helping the girl off the pedestal to distract everyone from the previous conversation. "Now that I have the measurements, I will start sketching a few dress designs and let you choose the one you like best. Jane, if your mother decides to make your dress let me know before I work too far with yours."

"What about the boys?" Audrey wondered curiously. "I know Chad's parents will send him a suit for the coronation, but Doug's father and uncles can't afford to have a suit made. As for Ben—"

"I've already talked to someone about Ben's coronation suit," Evie calmly reassured. "They are willing to buy the fabric I need for it. I will base his measurements off Gil's and then try to convince Ben to come in for a fitting. With Doug, I am helping him study for our chemistry test in a couple weeks. During the study sessions, I will get his measurements, work on the suit, and do the fitting whenever necessary."

"You're going to make him try?" Lonnie repeated incredulously. "What did you bribe him with?"

"He'll be my date to the coronation," Evie revealed as a mysterious smile appeared on her lips. "If he manages to get one of the highest scores, he will get something even better."

"Sounds like we will see a change in Doug in these next few weeks thanks to you," Audrey teased good-naturedly.

"What about you and Gil?" Mal reminded with a teasing smile of her own. "You two were flirting with each other quite a bit during passing periods. Has he asked you out yet?"

"We had a lunch date," Audrey admitted, surprising the girls with the quickness in their relationship. "He talked about his family and I talked about life on the Isle. Did you know the bull necklace he always wears belonged to his mother before she passed?"

"Uma told me," Mal informed, though she raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "However, she didn't find out about it until a few months ago. Gil had misplaced his necklace and practically destroyed the locker room to find it. He must like you a lot since he told you about something so precious to him."

"We're having a study date after he's out of Tourney practice this afternoon," Audrey claimed. "His father scheduled an afternoon practice to make up for the short morning practice. Gil is going to help me with the Remedial Goodness assignment."

"Like you need it." Lonnie rolled her eyes in mock annoyance. "I bet you're just using it to find a way to make out with him."

"Lonnie!" Audrey exclaimed, her face glowing red from embarrassment. "I would never—!"

"You're blushing!" Lonnie insisted with a mischievous smile. "You were thinking about it!"

Most of the girls snickered as Audrey's blush covered her entire face, including the tip of her ears. Jane, on the other hand, continued to pout as she ran her fingers through Dude's fur to calm herself. "I'll never have a boyfriend," she grumbled.

"You don't need a boyfriend," Mal encouraged. "They are over-rated and a waste of time."

"Is that how you are convincing yourself?" Evie wondered with a small smile. "If I recall correctly, you never had a boyfriend, and you are crushing on someone right now! You shouldn't give up on being with him already. It's only his second day in Auradon. He needs time to adjust to life here before he considers a relationship; before Ben finds himself falling in love with you too."

The Isle girls whipped their heads toward the Auradon princess, whose turn it was to turn a shade of red from embarrassment. "Ben is your crush?" Audrey clarified, a certain hint of urgency in her tone. "You are in love with him?"

"How?" Lonnie practically demanded in her incredulous tone. "Why would you fall for him when you could have anyone in Auradon? You are a princess; about to be queen!"

"I don't know," Mal claimed with a half-hearted shrug. "We have a lot in common, more than I originally thought. He has the same sense of humor as me. His laugh is contagious. His smile is swooning. His blue eyes are so . . ."

"Hideous?" Lonnie assumed. "Repulsive? Dull?"

"Beautiful," Mal corrected, her blush growing darker thanks to her confession.

"Ben hates his eyes because they look too much like his father's," Audrey revealed slowly, contemplating a thought. "In fact, he tried . . ."

Evie tilted her head curiously at the Isle princess trailing off. "Tried . . . what?"

"Nothing," Audrey abruptly denied. Shaking a thought out of her head, Audrey hurried to the exit, muttering, "I'm going to be late for my date."

" 'Beautiful'?" Ben repeated with clear astonishment in his tone, though it was hard to tell with his panting. Tourney practice had ended a few moments prior and he had walked straight to his friend when he noticed the worried expression on her face. "Mal really said that about my eyes? Did you tell her what I wanted to do?"

"The girls would have been mortified," Audrey insisted with a horrified shake of her head. "Heck, I am still ashamed of you for attempting such a reckless and dangerous stunt. If I hadn't stopped you—"

"I would've been happy," Ben stubbornly remarked. "I wouldn't be glaring at myself every time I look in the mirror because I remind myself of—"

"Your father," Audrey finished knowingly. "I know. You told me that after I walked in on you breaking all the mirrors in our hideout. I couldn't walk without shoes for a week because of all the glass pieces you missed when cleaning up. I had to hidea mirror for me to use because I was afraid you were going to break it too."

"I wouldn't break something that belonged to you," Ben reassured. Leaning against the bleachers to get more comfortable, the Isle prince wondered, "So, what's the other reason you're here? You could have told me that when I was back in my room."

"Well . . ." Audrey reluctantly began as a blush once again formed on the bridge of her nose. "I have a second date with someone."

"A second date?" Ben tilted his head curiously. "With who?"

"Me."

Turning his head to face the owner of the voice, Ben raised an interested eyebrow. "Gil," he greeted with a slight nod. "You're her boyfriend?"

"Trying to be," Gil agreed, adjusting the bag strap on his shoulder to be more comfortable. "Right now, I'm working up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend, if she thinks I'm deserving."

Ben raised his eyebrow even more. "You know if you hurt her, you will have to deal with me, right?"

"I would never hurt her," Gil proclaimed vehemently. "I know I have only known her for two days, but Audrey means everything to me. I would only be hurting myself if I were to hurt her."

Pausing for a moment or two to build up suspense, Ben stood to leave, but not before turning to face Audrey. "I approve," he decided with a slight nod. "You can date him."

"Since when do I need your approval to date someone?" Audrey interrogated.

"Since Aziz and I had to fight off Chad every time you ignore his advances," Ben retorted, though a small smile lingered on his lips just long enough for Audrey to notice it. "Enjoy your date. Let me know how it went later."

The 'couple' watched as Ben walked away from them, toward the dorm rooms. "Who's Aziz?" Gil questioned when he knew Ben was no longer within hearing range. "I've heard that name a few times since the six of you arrived."

"He used to be a friend," Audrey slowly informed as Gil took a seat next to her. "Aziz and Ben were practically inseparable when we were kids. They did everything together. Then one day, Aziz betrayed Ben's trust by stabbing him in the back."

"How?" Gil interrogated, leaning forward with great interest. "What did Aziz do?"

"I better wait before I tell you," Audrey insisted, sighing worriedly. "Ben is already annoyed at me for telling you about his reading problem and his scars. I don't want him to hate me for telling you too much so soon. Maybe if you become friends, he will tell you himself."

"When I become his friend," Gil corrected with a teasing smile. "I have to be his friend so I can stay in a relationship with you, so I don't screw anything up."

"You won't have to worry about that," Audrey reassured. "Friend or not, that won't change anything between us. I will still . . ."

". . . find me insanely attractive?" Gil finished with a growing smile. "You said you were having trouble with something on your Remedial Goodness assignment. What was it?"

"Well, the lesson was over asking permission to do something before you do it," Audrey vaguely recalled, subconsciously scooting closer to the boy. "If you are doing something thoughtful or nice for someone, do you really need to ask? Especially if it's a surprise?"

"It depends on what kind of surprise it is," Gil answered. "If the surprise is meant to be something good, then you shouldn't need to ask permission to do it. If the surprise is something hurtful, or bad, then you shouldn't do the surprise at all. Does that help?"

"Absolutely," Audrey agreed, nodding absentmindedly. "That helps me out a lot. Now I can surprise someone with something good."

Although it was already painfully obvious and heavily foreshadowed, Gil couldn't help being shocked when Audrey placed a loving hand on his cheek as she kissed him. Although he didn't want the moment to end too soon, but still being a respectable man, Gil opted to hold Audrey's hand as he wished for this moment to go on forever.

Sadly, the moment ended when Audrey pulled away first, slightly out of breath from lack of oxygen. "Best first kiss ever," she declared in a sing-song tone.

"I could go for another," Gil admitted, trying his best to hide his happy smile.

Giggling softly, Audrey gladly leaned forward to kiss her new boyfriend—

Loving her new life in Auradon.
