Hi everyone! So sorry for the long delay on this, it's been a mad few weeks. I really hope you like this next instalment. It's far shorter, and it might not be what you're expecting, but stay with me.
Often when writing I hear a certain song and think it fits perfectly with the mood/scene. So, if you're keen, I'd stick on Call You Up by Viola Beach. Enjoy! Please R&R as ever.

August 2010.
Rachel sat on the edge of the bath in stillness, the peace of the room consoling her. A cream coloured dressing gown swaddled. The odd drip broke the silence sporadically. The light was gentle. Inside her head, however, there was no quiet. Life had changed significantly, and it was becoming beyond recognisable, although she truly believed in fate. The warmth of her bath, sitting still and neglected, continued filled the room.
In her life there were many blessings. A good career, beautiful home, wonderful friends, and forgiving circumstances. Chaos sometimes ensued, but that was the norm. Rachel's bathrobe was soon discarded on the floor, and the warm water comforted her. Deep breath. In, out. Rachel's eyes momentarily shut as a last attempt at a resolution, praying that her mind would clear it of its thoughts. Her hand reached down the side of the bathtub, pushing the robe out of the way, picking up the small item she was reluctantly after, drawing it to her view.
2-3 weeks. Knew it. Breathe. In, out. Her eyes closed, arm resting down on the edge of the bath with the culprit in hand. Shit. Once more she tilted it towards her view, opening her eyes to steal one final glance to double check. Rachel became more aware of the warmth of her bath as she discarded this small item on the floor beside her. She should have been over the moon, just like she had envisaged this moment to be throughout her entire life. But the truth was, she didn't know how to feel. Rachel's mind soon became empty, taking the moment for what it was, and she sunk a little deeper into the water.
Thirty-nine, and she still wasn't ready for this. A child. And despite everything, neither was Adam.
