"Change of plans"

How did I not see it before, if it was so obvious? He told himself as he went back to his house.

The signs were there from the beginning… he stomped on the sidewalk, tripping from one foot to the other.

He remembered Bakugou's crazy reactions when someone passed his arm to Midoriya in the hall. The hateful words whenever anyone dared to lay their hands on Midoriya, or that he dared to insult him, in addition to him. It was laughable, up to a point, the idiocy of the part of him to decipher.

He literally had to see it to know true.

Heck, he was on my nose all this time and I was an idiot trying to figure it out on my own.

Bakugou is right in saying that I am an idiot, because hell, I am.

I am a great idiot who does not notice the things that are under his nose.

He came home, greeted his family quickly, and locked himself in his room, unable to know what to do with the information he knew.

What would he do with what he knew?

What to do with that knowledge in his hands?

How was he going to tell his friends?

"Bakugou likes Midoriya"

Of course, he can't tell them how he listens. They will think that I am crazy, for the fact that it is clearly impossible that between those two there is a romance. It is literally unusual for them to be together if they can barely stand each other.

Kirishima couldn't find in his head the way to assimilate the newly obtained discovery that he had to see by pure chance in the corridors of the school.

He doesn't find the strength inside him to even say it out loud, because he would regret reaching that conclusion without being one hundred percent sure of what he had seen with his own eyes.

He slapped himself in the face.

"Who am I kidding? If it's obvious what I saw," He said to himself. "My bro likes Midoriya and there is no other explanation for that."

He realized the tremendous matter he got into as naive, which he could not find a way to shake off his own thoughts regarding his bro and Midoriya.

But, now the incognito that he left was: who Midoriya likes?

There must be someone who makes the freckled heart jump out of whack, right? There must be a person who makes his chest explode in a color bomb and his world flutter around that special someone.

There must be someone.

A person can make a difference in the balance that was at stake at that point by the intrusion of others from their peers.

Anyone who altered the course of the balance, would give it a different rhythm than the assumptions he had been making during the week.

But nevertheless, before doing something crazy, he would make sure that Bakugou really liked Midoriya, because if he didn't fix that fact as is, he would get into a tremendous trouble just saying to the four winds that his best friend liked him. He liked the person he supposedly hates. Since Midoriya is a good boy, he is cute, smiling and doesn't deserve to be mistreated or humiliated by anyone. Midoriya is an excellent classmate and has proved his worth in Kirishima's life to date. He wouldn't expose just because his "Kacchan" liked him.

It wouldn't be fair to Midoriya and Bakugou.

He began to lift weights to distract himself from the intense reflection that subjected his brain to such strange lengths. The leanings he took for the supposed revelation that someone like Bakugou has feelings for his childhood friend, which he constantly declares that he hates. But Kirishima knows that between love and hate there is a slight difference. One small big difference that can hardly be made to mislead the logic of his reasoning inclined him to suppose that Bakugou did indeed like Midoriya, or rather hate him.

It is for that reason, why he didn't find the sense to think that he hates Midoriya, because there is no point in hating him. There is no logic in hating it, because the logic resides in the assumption of loving it.

He army most of the afternoon, doing push-ups and extensions with the weights he owned. Deep in their respective thoughts, rambling like a broken machine in his room.

He had definitely gotten his head into a problem that he was hardly digesting. He didn't know if he could solve it, trying his best to meddle without being too liberating from his intentions.

And so he spent the rest of the weekend reflecting to himself, which meant wanting to help his best friend have the happiness he so badly needed.

On Monday without fail, he arrived at school, determined to personally inquire as to whether what he saw on Saturday afternoon was not the product of his imagination, but the truth.

Kirishima knew of Bakugou's character, of his irritated gestures when dealing with an issue that for him, was taken as annoying.

He knew that Bakugou has the face of being emotionally constipated practically all the time; his bad face made people understand that he didn't need company to feel good. He repelled everyone with his manner and his wasteful screams that caused everyone to flee immediately from his reluctant presence.

He took the opportunity to ask him, at recess, since if he interrogated him in the classroom, his friends would find out about his intentions and completely ruin the interrogation.

He gathered enough courage to take a seat next to him, putting his plate of food on the table, his elbows on the table and gave a big smile to his best friend, who made a face of being constipated from just being seen that way.

"What do you want, spiky hair?" Asked his best friend.

Well, here is nothing, he told himself.

"What's your opinion of Midoriya?" He blurted out tactlessly.

Typical of his clumsiness at being able to question something coherent and cohesive on his part.

Bakugou made a gesture of disgust, similar to that he had swallowed a bug.

He gave up his activity of eating his Oyakodon.

"What did you say, asshole?!" He snapped annoyed.

"A stupid question, bro," He laughed due his nerves. The thing was getting out of hand in a jiffy and he would end up in ashes if he didn't rush to aim for him. "Just answer it. There is nothing wrong with talking about Midoriya"

"I don't want to talk about Deku," He pronounced pedantic. "It makes me mad to talk about the slimy useless nerd."

"Midoriya is a good classmate, don't you think?" Kirishima spoke, not noticing what his best friend just said. The point is to seem like he wasn't paying attention when he was actually paying attention.

A stupid and baseless plan. But a plan anyway.

"Hah?!" Bakugou spat, tense.

"He has a nice smile," he said, not meeting his eyes. "I mean, don't you think he's a good boy? Lately I have thought that he is quite handsome as he was at the beginning of classes. He has grown taller and the 1B girls have noticed. I have no doubt that before long he will have girls dying to be his girlfriend"

He decided to roll his eyes in his direction, this time connecting with the saddened reflection projected by the reddish orbs of him. He had hit the point.

"I don't know what Midoriya was like before U.A. but now he is quite a handsome. I could even fall in love with him"

That had an effect on the explosive boy, that his features slightly fell towards the ground. His hard red eyes caught a degree of sadness that Kirishima was able to rescue from his expression.

However, Bakugou got very angry with him, slamming his clenched fist on the table, looking like how close he would cry at any moment from what he said.

"I'm not interested in what happens in the life of that useless and stupid nerd," Bakugou stressed. His jaw trembled, his teeth clenched almost crunchingly. "I hate him so much I can't stand him. I can't bear to hear about him and his disgustingly insignificant existence of him. "He turned his eyes from him to him. "Make it clear to you that I hate him, spike hair. And if you mention him to me again, I'll make you ashes, you fucking idiot"

Kirishima shook his head in agreement, shrugging off his threat.

Said the threat from him, Bakugou withdrew from the cafeteria, throwing his half-eaten plate in the trash. Leaving Kirishima to his reflections on what he had just verified.

He had no more doubts. He knew that between hate and love, Bakugou feels love for Midoriya and disguised it as hatred so as not to be vulnerable to those feelings.

Sitting at the cafeteria table he was deciphering what Bakugou said. Bakugou's words are often manifestations of his inner conflicts. Anyway, the message between the lines was very clear in the following:

"I hate him so much that I can't stand him." I can't stand how I feel about him.

"I can't bear to know about him and the disgusting little existence of him that he has" I can't bear to know what he has become. I can't bear to see him above me, when he has to be far below my greatness. I cannot bear to digest his existence, I cannot bear to see his light so radiant and blinding near me, because if I do it… I give myself to your strength. I break if I'm near your light, Deku. Because I really love you.

It's what he interpreted with the red hair. He had deciphered what Bakugou had said in a short fraction of time, as it was beginning to be easy for him to find the message between the lines of his supposedly hateful words.

In addition, the intensity and strength of his reddish gaze gave him away.

He made him indulge in his feelings for Midoriya.

His love of him.

It must have hurt to have those feelings in someone you supposedly hate, right?

He must have felt like the worst burden of all, though, because that's how the stretches that hide the explosive boy unfolded, to the confines of his suffering.

He must have felt very lonely for loving his childhood friend who, in short, was not his friend. Not even his love reciprocated from him.

Midoriya in his life only had the label of the childhood friend and nothing more.

Because of this, Bakugou seemed to be emotionally constipated all the time. Perhaps the useless feeling that he wouldn't be loved back weighed heavily on him and was rubbing against his heart, causing him deep pain.

He couldn't help but feel sorry for his best friend.

The fact of not being reciprocated, it must have hurt a ton more than suffer a fall, which can easily be cured with a bandage. In contrast, unrequited love hardly had a cure.

"Bro, what was that?" Kaminari sat next to him, putting an arm around his shoulder. Then Sero took a seat on the other side, placing his tray on the table.

"Yeah bro, it looked like you were going to make Bakugou cry," Sero chanted, in a tone of disbelief.

"I've never seen that face in him," Kaminari added in agreement.

"Did you discover something you want to tell us?" Sero said.

Ultimately, he did discover something he wanted to say. He just checked.

There was nothing wrong with sharing what he already knew. After all, they were in the same business enough to flinch at this point.

He nodded slightly.

"What did you discover?" Asked Kaminari excitedly.

"Yes, yes tell us." Mina joined them and the Bakusquad was already sitting at the same table without Bakugou. "What about our explodo boy?"

Kirishima held his breath, prepared to drop the bomb.

He clasped his hands, and blurted out, "Bakugou likes Midoriya."

Silence.

The mute looks of his friends gave him to understand that none of the three expected that. Not as a joke.

"Kirishima, are you serious?" It was Mina who spoke first.

"Does it look like I'm joking?" He questioned her back. His impending seriousness, he assured his friends that he was not lying. Besides, why would he lie to such a sensitive subject as the person Bakugou likes? He wouldn't have been sorry to do so, simply because it was Bakugou.

"So what are we going to do now?" Kaminari blurted out in doubt. "What will we do?"

"I wasn't expecting it," Sero snapped low. "Bakugou likes Midoriya? It's ridiculous"

"It isn't," Kirishima denied defensively. "My bro's tastes shouldn't be a problem for these things; besides, none of the four expected it."

"No-no," Sero replied. "No one expected it, but we know it now and we can't do anything about it."

"Of course we do," Mina encouraged, surprising the three men. "What follows is very simple." Expecting silence. "To find out who Midoriya likes"

Another new change had been added to the plan.
