(There are things I do kinda want to explore in this crossover with matters that I think Grimm failed or just refused to delve into. And things about the Law & Order franchise in general (along with our legal system too) that could be/should be called out on. Still, hope the story's starting off well.)

Chapter Two: The Devil's Due

(SVU department, interrogation room, several minutes later)

Benson and Fin sat on one side of the table while a certain main in glasses sat on another. Pastor Hensley was in tears, his face beet red, and was crying as he prayed repeatedly. Rollins, Kat, and Carisi watch from the other side of the glass.

"How long is he gonna keep this up?" Kat grumbled.

"As long as he can," Carisi sighed.

"This bastard," Kat snarled.

Benson and Fin were getting impatient. Neither particularly wanted to hear what this man wanted to say. They had both read the files on him and were disgusted with how he was 'involved' with the case and were furious he got off scot free during his trial. But it was standard procedure to talk to those who were at the scene and likely had knowledge of the victim. Fin leaned over to Benson.

"Want me to get him talking?" Fin asked.

"No, he'll talk," Benson answered.

"I'm starting to get a headache," Fin grumbled.

"You shouldn't mock a man of god at prayer," Hensley said.

"Did the big man upstairs tell you to -" Fin started to say.

"Enough...Pastor Hensley, you know why you're here," Benson interjected, despite not wanting to.

"Yes...the devil took one of God's righteous children," Hensley replied.

"The devil?" Benson grunted.

"Only the devil could do such a thing," Hensley added.

"What does the devil look like?" Fin asked.

Hensley's face contorted with rage. He quickly stood out of his chair and slammed his hands onto the table.

"This isn't a joke!" Hensley screeched.

"Really?" Fin asked.

"Only something from the depths of hell could kill such a pure soul!" Hensley retorted.

"Pure?!" Benson scoffed.

"We know about you and Jason, what you had him do to his mother," Fin hissed.

"She was a Jezebel," Hensley scoffed.

"What she was a woman, a woman with desires, and you manipulated Jason into murdering her," Benson snarled.

"She betrayed her husband and defiled herself by giving into the temptations of the flesh," Hensley argued.

"And Jason stoned her to death. Old Testament, right? 'Thou shall not commit adultery', am I right? What about 'Thou shall not kill'?" Fin asked.

"It is written those who commit adultery shall be put to death," Hensley said.

"Oh, so if it was his father who cheated you'd have had him stoned?" Benson asked.

Hensley glowered at her.

"Or would it be you wouldn't because he was a man? If I remember right, her lover wasn't stoned. She was...so it's only women who decide that they want some time with someone else is what makes it terrible, right? Men can do that, but women can't, right" Benson continued.

Veins in Hensley's head and neck appeared. His face was red and looked like he was about to pop. From the other side of the screen, the others watched and discussed.

"At this rate, he's going to explode," Rollins said.

"Oh, please explode," Kat added.

"If I remember the case file right, he was rather calm during his time on trial...so what's making him so furious now?" Carisi asked, mostly to himself.

"I think what some religious zealots are like is that they hate women...or some of them do...or at least women who don't 'follow their rules or know their place'. So him being called out for his zealotry just being misogyny is pushing him to the edge," Kat suggested.

"You may be right," Carisi sighed.

On the other side of the glass, Fin and Benson glared holes into Hensley.

"For her disobedience, Eve was placed to serve Adam. For her crime, Eve and all women must submit to the will of men. Those who defy that must be made examples of," Hensley continued.

"I know plenty of women who, as a man might say, 'wear the pants' in the relationship. All of them would be more than glad to kick your pathetic ass. And those men in those relationships, they'd do the same thing if you said that to their women," Fin hissed.

"Face it, Pastor, you're nothing just another pathetic little man who lashes out at women you know when they do something you don't like. And that's why you were arrested and were put on trial: because you're a woman hating zealot who wants to subjugate women and have your sickening 'paradise'," Benson hissed.

Hensley's face continued to burn red. But then he straightened up and smiled.

"But don't you remember? I walked away a free man," Hensley chuckled.

It was Fin and Benson's turn to frown now. He was right. Despite what he had done, what Jason had revealed years ago...Hensley wasn't sent to prison. And they both knew they two words that made this interrogation, or part of it in the end practically worthless: double jeopardy. Hensley couldn't be charged for ordering the death of Jason's mother and they feared with the practically nonexistent evidence they had and Jason dead...they were unlikely to get a conviction for his ordering of the attempted murder of the couple having the affair.

"You did...and you know we can't arrest you for it again," Benson grumbled.

On the other side of the window, Kat snarled a vicious frown.

"This is such bullshit," Kat hissed.

"...It's the law," Carisi sighed.

"I know! And I know Double Jeopardy is good in some situations...I just...this asshole gets away scot free with what he's done!" Kat ranted.

"Don't worry...a guy like this...he'll try again...and we'll catch him when he does," Rollins suggested.

"Let's hope before another woman is murdered," Kat grumbled.

Out of the corner of their eye, a man walked into the department with a cop in uniform at his side. The three walked over.

"Hi, I'm Detective Rollins. This is Officer Tamin of the SVU. What can we do for you?" Rollins announced.

"I'm Jason Lotrell's father," Matthew replied.

"Oh! So...I...I guess you know-" Rollins sighed.

"He's dead...I know," Matthew finished for her.

"I'm sorry," Rollins said.

"...My son...My son stopped being my son when decided he was going to kill his mother...with no remorse," Matthew replied, his voice torn.

"Sir, we know your wife was having an affair-" Rollins continued to say.

"Because I wasn't good enough...at first I was angry...that she cheated...but...but when Jason...when he...I realized...we didn't deserve her…" Matthew replied.

"I know she didn't deserve to die, but she had an affair," Rollins continued.

"Because I wasn't giving what she needed or wanted...I know that now," Matthew weakly replied, tears forming.

Rollins looked at the others, surprise in her eyes. They shrugged their shoulders.

"No disrespect...but...but that's…" Rollins struggled to say.

"Call me crazy or stupid...but she deserved the world...and Jason murdered her when she tried to get it. And that bastard, Hensley, manipulated him into doing it," Matthew cried and growled.

Rollins tried to say something, but nothing came out.

"W-We need to know why you're-" Rollins started to ask.

Matthew's attention turned to a familiar looking man who walked out of interrogation ahead of Benson and Fin. Matthew charged at him.

"YOU MONSTER!" Matthew roared before punching Hensley.

Hensley fell to the ground. Matthew got on top of him and punched him again, knuckles dripping with blood. Cops surged towards the attack and pulled Matthew off Hensley. A cop pulled up Hensley.

"Alright, that's enough! Who are you?!" Benson said.

"Matthew Lotrell! The husband of the woman who this bastard manipulated into being murdered!" Matthew screamed, pain and rage thick in his voice.

"You're...oh man," Benson sighed.

"Your wife was cheating on you, defiling her sacred vows. She was a Jezebel," Hensley scoffed.

"She was a woman with desires! You and your cult of zealots made her baby murder her! Our baby boy!" Matthew continued to scream.

"Jason was God's sword...and now he's with him for his noble acts," Hensley added.

"Don't kid yourself. A man who kills a woman for sleeping with who she wants isn't ending up with the angels," Kat snarled, her voice filled with disgust.

"Pray to the Lord for forgiveness for your heresy, or you shall truly learn who burns," Hensley replied.

Kat took a step forward. Fin put a hand on her shoulder to stop her.

"You best get outta here before we let these two do what they wanna do to ya," Fin warned.

"Although I walk through the-" Hensley started to recite.

"Get his ass outta here!" Fin ordered.

A couple of cops took Hensley out of the station whilst he continued to recite the verse. Matthew broke down in tears.

"Mr. Lotrell, we're so sorry for everything that's happened," Benson said.

"Why couldn't it have been me?! Why couldn't it have been me Jason killed?! I should have been the one! At least my wife would have been alive!" Matthew sobbed.

The group looked at one another with sympathy.

"Hensley will try something again...and we will stop him before any other women are hurt," Benson added.

"You should have blown his brains out as soon as he revealed he did it! He should be a rotting corpse for what he did!" Matthew continued.

"T-That's not how the law works," Benson sighed.

"He walked! HE WALKED! How is that right!" Matthew cried out.

The team looked at one another, unable to say anything.

(Another part of Manhattan, an hour or so later)

Hensley sat in a chair in his apartment. Everywhere in the apartment were crosses or Christian sigils, posters and plaques of verses, etc. Across from him sits a boy, just a foot away from him. He couldn't be maybe anywhere older than 9 or 10.

"Now son, what has your mother been doing?" Hensley asked.

"She's...been talking to this guy...he's younger than her and my dad…" The boy answered.

"Go on," Hensley said.

"They go to her room sometimes...I hear her crying...not like she does with dad though...I see her with red marks on her face," the boy replied.

"Your dad is just setting things straight in your home. Making sure things are right...your mother...she's betraying him," Hensley said.

"Huh?" The boy asked, confused.

"She's hurting him...she's being led astray," Hensley continued.

"Astray?" The boy asked.

"Yes, she's doing something wrong. She's hurting your dad," Hensley 'explained'.

"But I don't see him crying...only Mommy cries," the boy said, confused.

"Son, it's just part of what a woman's place is...her husband does what he does because he's a man and she needs to respect and honor him...what she's doing when he's gone...it's not that at all," Hensley said, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"I-I don't know...she seems...a little happier when dad's gone...maybe...this guy helps?" The boy asked.

"Son...he's not helping...he's leading her astray...and she must learn what she's doing is against God's will," Hensley continued.

"P-Pastor Hensley...you say pray and listen...but I haven't heard God say anything like that...and I'm afraid of my dad...he seems...mad when he's with Mommy," the boy replied.

Hensley smiled and ruffled the boy's hair.

"You will, don't worry. In time you will. Your mother will learn what she's done is wrong in time. You'll learn your dad isn't at fault here, he isn't hurting you," Hensley said.

"He isn't?" The boy asked.

"No, he isn't," Hensley said.

"I just...he...looks scary...when he's around her...and when he sees him when I see him with her," the boy added.

"He's just making sure everything is in order. You'll understand one day," Hensley said.

"I-I don't know...I don't like seeing Mommy crying like she does with dad," the boy said.

Hensley put a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"It's ok...you'll help her, I just need to help you understand God's plans a little longer. Pray with me, son," Hensley said.

The boy hesitantly took the man's hands and they both prayed. Soon the boy exited the house, a car waiting with an attractive woman sitting there. A young man was with her, Hensley frowned at this but a look of confusion was on his face. He never saw the boy's mother pick him up with the person the boy spoke of, only with her husband. She had a look of...seemingly relief on her face...but he shook his head and pushed it out of his mind. He shut the door behind him.

"He will take your Sword's place, oh Lord. Your will shall be done," Hensley proclaimed.

"That won't be happening," a voice said.

Hensley gasped as he turned to see someone in a hoodie standing in the shadows, something big and round in one hand.

"Who are you?" Hensley said.

"The kid's dad found out his wife was having an affair with someone who actually was someone who gave a damn about her. He went after them...he didn't get far," the unknown person said, flinging the thing in their hand gently towards Hensley.

Hensley looked down in horror to see the decapitated head of a rather unfriendly and ugly man frozen in horror.

"Y-You-" Henlsey gasped.

"The boy's mother will reveal everything to the boy and what his father was doing...and what happened to him...well...not everything...all she heard on that street were his screams...and something else," the individual continued.

"N-No," Hensley gasped.

"He sounded a lot like your 'chosen one' that night," the individual said.

"H-How? Y-You?" Hensley gasped.

"He screamed in horror and fear...tried to beg for his life...wasn't easy while he was being ripped apart. You saw the body, right?" The individual asked.

Hensley nodded in horror.

"The horror on his face...knowing he was going to die...he thought he was going to Heaven...or did he? Maybe he realized he wasn't going to the pearly gates," the individual suggested.

"H-Heresy! He was God's sword! H-How could you take him? How did you do it?" Hensley cried out.

"Because guys who hurt women piss me off," the individual snarled.

"G-God will surely damn you for what you did to his sword! And for all you've done to noble men!" Hensley stammered.

"Maybe...but let's see what he makes of you," the individual replied.

"I am God's servant! That woman was a Jezebel! The boy's mother is a Jezebel! All women must be purified!" Hensley proclaimed.

"And you're gonna die just like how you're 'chosen one' did," the individual hissed.

Hensley started to back up.

"H-How did you do it? The body...he was…" Hensley stammered.

The individual showed themself and shook their head violently. Hensley's eyes widened in horror, color draining from his face.

"Heaven no, g-get away from me demon!" Hensley cried out.

"This is for Jason's mother, that boy's mother, and all other women you've hurt or were going to hurt," the individual growled.

The individual lunged forward with a snarl and Hensley screamed in terror.

To be continued…

(Sorry for the late update. Been struggling with some stuff. Been quarantined and possibly exposed to COVID-19, not sure, but the quarantine ends Friday. Anyways, hope this was a good update.)
