The sound of children chuckling and having fun could be heard filling the air at the Rosato's residence in the much better part of neghborhood in Royal Woods. It was yet another one of those occasion where Girl Jordan would invited her classmate to her house for a pool party that has always been the hot topic among the elementary school students. Although it was still early in the night, the place was already crowded with teenagers in every corner of the backyard, either talking, eating the prepared snack at the table, or playing with their friends in the pool.
Needless to say, it was definitely a fun experience that no one would refuse to be a part of. It was also one of the way for them to socialize more out of school and perhaps find a chance to raise their popularity among the other student. If they're lucky, who know, they might find a certain someone that could make their night even more better.
As for the ginger haired girl that held the party, Girl Jordan was leaning her back against the wall while watching her classmate having fun around her, waiting with a cup of soda in her right hand. She wore a yellow matching swimsuits with a short skirts under her waist, her hair still tied into a braid and draped over her shoulder. Her lean stomach though a little bit toned, only make the girl more appealing with her athletic figure and budding chest poking out beneath the fabric of her swimsuit. She knew she wasn't as attractive as many other girls that was well known at school for their beauty and mannerism. But she is still one of the popular girl that always caught the attention of the boys, and sometimes even the girls with how awesome she is in their eyes.
Some has even made their move on her by giving her love letters and flowers to show their affection. Girl Jordan appreciated their effort but she wasn't in any sort interested to be in a relationship at the moment. It was too much of a commitment she need to put into and she wasn't ready for that yet. She was happy with how it was right now and she don't want to ruin her youth life with some mushy love stuff that would take a lot of her time to have fun. She is a free spirit, doing whatever she wanted without anything holding her back, it was always like that, and she would rather enjoy her life before thinking about searching for a love companion.
She is still young and perhaps because of that also, she didn't find the thought of having a boyfriend anymore different then how she was right now. It isn't like she can't hang out with the boys when she wanted to, she just never see them as more than only her friends. They would even flirt with her sometimes, but it never make her feel any different than how she usually felt around them. She didn't turn into a stuttering mess or have her heart racing in excitement when they confessed their love to her. Flattered probably, awkward not common, having the same feeling for them, yeah never.
Was she weird for finding the thought of love not appealing?
Or perhaps she just didn't find the right guy yet, or maybe a girl, she don't know, she never put much thought into it.
Whatever it was, it wasn't her problem right now, her older self can figure it out later, she still have a lot of time before that would be a real problem in her life. For now she would have as much fun as she wanted to. And what better way can she have more fun than having a party with her friends.
"Hey Jordan!" She lifted her head and saw her best friend, Mollie standing infront of her, her left hand holding her waist while the other holding her own cup of soda. She was wearing a green bikini that somehow make her looks even more attractive than usual. A faint line could also be seen on her slightly tanned skin under the strap of her swimsuit. "What are you doing here? I have been looking for you."
"Heh sorry Mollie, I just wanted to be alone for awhile." Girl Jordan replied, taking a sip of soda from her cup.
"Seriously Jordan? We're at your party and you just want to stay here doing nothing." Mollie said, slightly rolling her eyes.
"Hey! I'm going to join you eventually, I just need to think for a moment." Said Girl Jordan.
"And what were you thinking about that bothered you so much?" Mollie asked as she leaned beside her. Jordan looked at her best friend and considered if she should tell her about it. She is also single like her but Jordan never knew why she don't have a boyfriend yet. It's not like Mollie isn't attractive or anything like that, she has a body figure that could make boys mouth watered at the sight. And even her need to admit that she is a beautiful girl. They have been friends for a long time and it never occured to her why Mollie would stay single just like her.
"Mollie, don't you want to have a boyfriend?" Girl Jordan blurted out.
"What now?" Mollie raised an eyebrow at her.
"You know, someone that you like," She looked at her empty cup.
"I know what that mean dumbass, I'm asking why so sudden, I have never heard you say anything like this before" Mollie inquired, her curiousity piqued at the topic now exchanged between them.
"I'm just wondering you know, we're both still single and most people that we know has already found someone that they like, don't you want to know how it felt like to be in love?" Girl Jordan asked as she kicked the wet grass beneath her feet.
"Wow Jordan, I didn't expect you to be a sentimental type of person." Mollie teased only to receive a blank stare from her.
"I'm serious Mollie." She nudged her ribs with her elbow as the girl chuckled at her rough gesture.
"It didn't matter to you before so what the difference now, you're just overthinking this stuff Jordan." Mollie answered.
"Then what about you? You still didn't answer my question." Girl Jordan asked, looking at her friend who now have a thoughtful look on her face.
"I would be lying if I say I never thought about it before. I don't know, I guess it wasn't the time for me to be in love yet." Mollie shrugged her shoulders.
"That still didn't answer my question though." Girl Jordan complained. "Do you even have a crush on anyone?"
Mollie lowered her head as a shade of red slightly colored her cheek. "Well, there was this one guy." She said in a low voice but Jordan can clearly hear her.
A smirk crept upon her face. "Seriously, who is he?" Girl Jordan teasingly asked, her arm wrapped behind her shoulder. "Come on Mollie, tell me who is he?"
Annoyed, she pushed her arm away from her shoulder. "Knock it off Jordan." Mollie responded with a glare.
They jumped a little in shock when a familiar figure poked their head out from the tall bush beside them. Looking from side to side, the figure eventually stepped out from the bush showing them more of his appearance.
"Clyde? What are you doing in there?" Girl Jordan asked. The dark skinned boy looked at the girl with a nervous smile as his eyes drifted anxiously to their surrounding. A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead.
"Uh, h-hey Girl Jordan, I-I didn't expect to see you here." Clyde said as he fixed his glasses on his nose. A twig stuck in his curly black hair and a few leaves scattered over his grey tshirt and black trunks.
"This is my house Clyde, I live here." She replied bluntly as his eyes widened in realization.
"R-right, heh heh, sorry, nice party you got here." Clyde said, his right hand nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"What's the matter with you anyway dork, suddenly coming out of the bush like that." Mollie folded her arms with a glare, scaring him a little.
Clyde raised his index finger and opened his mouth to give an excuse when the bush behind him suddenly shook again. They looked at the direction of the noise as soon after a girl clad in a blue bikini stepped out from the bush while wiping the leaves from her body. She lifted her head and her cheeks quickly turned bright red at the other two girls staring back at her. Awkward silence filled the air as none of them speak. They just stayed like that for a few more minutes before Clyde finally cleared his throat to break the ice.
"So, it's a nice weather we're having today am I right." Clyde said since it was the only thing he could think of at the moment, ignoring how stupid he sounds like right now.
The black haired girl giggled into her palm at the boy futile attempt at changing the topic, but still appreciated his effort to lighten the mood. She slowly approached the boy, stood on her toes and removed the twig from his hair. After brushing the leaves from his clothes, Chloe cupped his right cheek and planted a chaste kiss on the other with a small smile gracing her lips afterwards. Her cheeks brightened when their eyes met as she took a few steps back.
"See you later Clyde." With a small wave, Chloe headed back to the crowded area where the party was taking place. The boy still looked at the direction she went into with adoration in his eyes even after the girl disappeared from their sight. A small grin plastered on his face as he sighed dreamily, almost forgetting the presence of the two other girls. But who can blame him, love can easily messed up someone mind. And he was definitely in love, no doubt about that.
"Wow Clyde, I didn't know you have a girlfriend." Girl Jordan said a little bit surprised by the revelation.
"Her name is Chloe, isn't she just the beautiful and nicest girl in the world." He responded, still not giving full attention to them.
Girl Jordan looked at the boy and couldn't help but wonder how it would feel like to receive such affection from someone. Perhaps it wasn't that bad to be in a relationship. Would someone actually looked at her like how Clyde looked at the girl? How would she know that she wasn't making the wrong decision? The question plagued her mind and uncertainty increased in her heart. Everything come with a price but is she willing to take the risk. She was pulled away from her thought when her best friend spoke.
"Hey Clyde, I thought you came here with Lincoln, where is he anyway, I don't think I see him anywhere yet at the party, can't wait to have a cannonball competition with him." Mollie inquired.
Clyde turned his head to look at the girls at the mention of his best friend. His smile slowly turned into a small frown.
"Actually, I came here alone." He replied, confusing both of them.
"But I gave my invitation to both of you myself." Girl Jordan said.
Closing his eyes, Clyde crossed his arms and contemplated if he should tell them about his best friend situation or not. Lincoln never told him to keep it a secret but he was unsure if he should talk about it without his permission. They're best friends and will always looks for each other back. Perhaps telling them a little bit of detail won't do any harm to the white haired boy. Releasing a sigh, Clyde opened his eyes and looked at them.
"Yeah about that, I already called him earlier and asked if he want to get here with me but he said that he would be a little late and told me to go first, I'm not sure if he will actually come or not after what happened." He explained.
"Wait, what happened to him?" Girl Jordan asked.
"Well, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but Lincoln broke up with his girlfriend a few months ago." Said Clyde. "He didn't take it that well when it happened, but at least he is recovering from it."
"Lincoln had a girlfriend? Why didn't we know anything about this?" Mollie tightened her grip on her cup, her voice changed a little.
"They were dating in secret, even his sisters didn't know about this." He answered with a shrug as a new question raised from his reply.
"But why would they do that?" Girl Jordan lifted an eyebrow. "Wouldn't it better if they be open about it?"
"I also don't know why at first, but he told me that they don't want to rush the relationship between them and see where it goes from there. When he thought that he was ready, he confronted her about it and..." He lowered his head. "...And she said that it won't work between them and broke up with him afterwards. Since they kept their relationship in secret, I think because of that they can't do much like a normal couple." A sigh escaped from his lips.
"Damn, that must be harsh on him, no wonder he seemed a little bit down before." Girl Jordan said with a small frown.
"Sometimes it just didn't work out for everyone." He responded, slowly shaking his head.
"Hey Clyde!" The said boy jumped in shock when a familiar voice called his name. Turning around, he was met with the sight of his best friend walking over to them with his hands shoved into his orange hoodie pocket. "Sorry I'm late, got a little busy at home helping my sisters."
"Lincoln, I almost thought you're not coming." Clyde fistbumped with the white haired boy.
"And missed the party with my best friend, not a chance." Lincoln said, wrapping his arm behind his shoulder. "Besides now I understand why you're so eager to come here, I'm quite surprised to stumble across your precious Chloe earlier." He teased with a smirk as his friend face flushed with embarassment.
"Hi Lincoln." He turned his head and looked at the two girls near them.
"Girl Jordan, nice party as usual." Lincoln said with a small smile.
"You didn't need to come if you don't want to you know." She stated, confusing him a little. After thinking for awhile, Lincoln glanced at his friend with a suspicious look.
"Clyde, is there anything you want to tell me." He asked.
"Heh, heh, I might have told them about your breakup... sorry." The spectacled boy apologised.
Letting out a sigh, Lincoln pulled his arm away and rubbed his white hair. "Nah, it's okay Clyde, it's not like it matter to me anymore, I already got over it and I'm happy for that." He confessed.
"Good to hear that buddy." Clyde playfully punched his shoulder.
Lincoln looked back at her. "Don't worry about me Girl Jordan, I'm glad that our relationship ended there." He softly smiled as her heart skipped a beat. There is something about him that feels different but she don't know what it was. He would usually stayed silent in any kind of event but now he is being more cheerful and calmer in a crowd. He also seems more relaxed and giving a pleasant feeling for the people around him. Why didn't she notice this traits of his before? Sure they're not in the same group of friend but she still considered him as someone that she was close with.
"You sure you wanted to be here loser." Mollie crossed her arms with a scowl. "This is a pool party and you chose to wear a hoodie and jeans of all the things, what's the matter with you?" She mocked. "What are you hiding under there, a flab?"
"Yeah Lincoln, why are you wearing that anyway, it's clearly written in the invitation to bring our swimsuits?" Clyde asked.
"Well, I just don't want to get wet tonight, I'm not going to be in the pool and just hang out with the other at the table." Lincoln shrugged.
"Seriously Linc, and here I was hoping we can have a cannonball competition to prove I'm better than you." Mollie rolled her eyes.
He smiled at her. "You don't need to prove anything Mollie, you are always better than me." Lincoln said, her eyes widened as a tinge of red slightly painted her cheek. She quickly looked away from him and bit her bottom lips, hiding her blush. The hell was that? Why did he say that to her?
The back door suddenly opened as Mrs Rosato poked her head out and looked around for awhile. "Is there a Lincoln Loud here, there is a girl searching for him." The older woman said, getting his attention.
"Huh, I wonder who that could be? Excuse me for awhile." He went into the house and returned a few minutes later with a messy brown haired girl in a green turtleneck sweater.
"Lisa what are you doing here?" Clyde asked.
"I just got back from a science conference at the city hall for a meeting among the scientist. Since my parental units didn't allow me to walk home alone, they asked me to stay with my brother unit until the end of this social gathering." She replied in her heavy lisp.
"There goes our fun." Mollie groaned as Lincoln rolled his eyes at her.
"I'm going to get some drink, you guys want anything." Lincoln said, pointing at the snack table with his thumb.
"Nah, I'm good." Clyde replied.
"Sure, I'm coming with you, my cup is empty anyway." Girl Jordan turned her cup upside down.
"Yeah, whatever." Mollie shrugged.
They headed to the snack table near the backdoor and walked by the pool where their classmates were swimming and splashing water at each other. Lincoln did his best to dodge the water that spilled out from the pool as Mollie watched from behind when an idea struck her with a devious grin. Leaning forwards over her best friend shoulder, she whispered her plan into her ear. Their conversation didn't went unnotice by Lisa who glanced at them from the corner of her eyes. Girl Jordan clasped her mouth with her right hand to stifle her chuckle and nodded her head in agreement at her friend. They both smiled behind the oblivious boy who is still unaware of their mischievous plan, waiting for the right time.
Seeing the coast is clear, Girl Jordan signalled her friend with a nod.
"CANNONBALL!"
"Lincoln!"
"What-"
Mollie quickly ran and leapt into the air before diving into the pool, sending a wave of water splashing the side where Lincoln and Lisa were standing on. His clothes was soaked as droplet of water dripping from the strand of his white hair that covered his forehead. The same could also be say for Lisa as her brown hair stuck to her round glasses, limiting her vision.
"Seriously?" He sighed in defeat while looking at his clothes.
Soon after, Girl Jordan pushed him into the pool, making him even more wet than before. He swam to the surface and looked at the two girls who were smiling and laughing at him while Lisa wiped the water from her glasses and putting them back on her nose. "I should have known better." Lincoln said as he couldn't help but joining their smile with his own.
The sounds of people chuckling filled his ears as he made his way out of the pool with his clothes completely soaked by now thanks to the girls. His intention to keep his clothes dry until the end of the party, didn't stay like he hoped it would. Even if he isn't going to get into the pool, doesn't mean he could stop other people from throwing him in. Great now he owed Lynn 5 dollar for the bet he made with her earlier that night.
Standing infront the guilty girls, Lincoln narrowed his eyes at them while showing his wet clothes. "You happy now?" He asked, his right hand ran through his white hair, wiping them from covering his forehead.
"Sorry Linc, but this is a pool party, everyone need to get into the pool one way or another, that's the rule." Mollie smirked.
"Well, I hope you're satisfied now." He sighed and reached for the hem of his hoodie. "Do you know how much time it would take for this hoodie to dry." He complained, slightly pulling them up his waist as their eyes widened in shock.
Lisa narrowed her eyes when she saw the gazes her brother was receiving.
Their faces and also the other girl faces who were watching near them instantly turned bright red when he pulled the hoodie over his head, exposing his upper body to their undivided attention eyes. Even a few boys halted to admire his build that fit well with his unique appearance. His body is quite fit with the outline of his faint abs and sex revealed over his soaked jeans. His biceps started to gain a muscular shape and his collarbone brought more attention to his attractive chest.
Lincoln lifted his head from his wet hoodie and raised a brow when he saw the amount of people staring at him. The place is also much quiter now that he realized it. Looking at the two girls infront of him, Lincoln couldn't help but notice their bright red face and the warmth radiating from their bodies.
"Girl Jordan? Mollie? Are you alright?" He waved his palm infront of their faces only to receive no respond from them.
Lisa grabbed his right hand and quickly led him into the house.
"Sorry Girl Jordan, I think I need to leave now." Lincoln said as he followed his younger sister and left the house through the front door.
"W-what just happen?"
Walking by the sideway under the street light, Lincoln and Lisa strolled down the road and made a turn at a corner. Although his clothes was soaked, he still wear them to cover his body from the cold tempetature of the night.
"So a science conference huh, I'm pretty sure there is no event like that happening today and even if there is one I would have went there with you." Said Lincoln with a playful smirk.
"I don't like how those female specimens were looking at you." Lisa responded, lowering her head. "You belong to me and I don't want anyone else to have the right to see your body except for me." She continued with a pout.
Lincoln let out a low chuckle and interlocked his fingers with her. "I'm yours Lisa, I will always be yours." He stated as the girl lifted her head and looked at his face. Their eyes deeply staring at each other.
They both stopped walking, Lincoln bent down slightly, lifted her chin and brought their faces closer together until their lips met in a passionate kiss under the streetlight.
"And I'm also yours." Lisa said with a small smile, her right hand ceressing his freckled cheek.
