Summertime Surprises!
Part IV: The Summer of George
Based on the Seinfeld episode The Summer of George

Early one summer morning, George the steamroller steadily trundled on his way to work!
PEEP-PEEP!
He suddenly heard Henry's whistle as he approached with his passenger train, and was ready for a tease.
"Well," he called aloud. "If it isn't the big green...Wait, wait! Nope! Stress-free, George! Stress-free!"
He proceeded to trundle slowly by, as Henry passed, then sighed with relief to himself.
"That was a close call," he said to himself. "Can't have my stress-free summer be ruined by confrontation towards the railway. Now, can I?"
But George spoke too soon.
POOP-POOP!
"Woah!" he wailed, as Gordon whistled loudly and thundered quickly past with his express coaches.
"Express coming through!"
"Why, that big blue puffball!" George snapped. "I-I-I oughta…!"
"Good morning George!"
George gasped and looked over in surprise to find Bertie smiling at him. He found that he had already arrived at the scene of inspection.
"Oh, erm..., good morning, Bertie," George murmured, calming down a bit. "So, eh, what exactly do these men owe the services of the railway then?"
Bertie chuckled.
"A great deal, actually. We're doing routine maintenance along this stretch of the line."
"Oh," George wondered, raising an eyebrow. "How so then?"
"Well, apparently," Bertie explained, "they're here to inspect a portion of this track that was buckled in the hot sun; there has been a common trend of engines coming off the rails here, you know."
George almost brought himself to laugh, but attempted to hold it back and finally settled down.
"Oh, yes, yes," he agreed, managing a serious expression on his face as Bertie watched him with surprise. "That does sound like a concern. Thankfully the men are here to fix it on my watch. We'll have this line in shipshape in no time, I assure you."
"Oh," Bertie wondered, and watched as the men went about inspecting the line as Thomas approached with Annie and Clarabel.
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
Engines came and passed through as the workmen surveyed the line and repaired any damages to the rails, allowing them to pass through safely, as George stood on standby, but it wasn't long before he couldn't help himself from getting angry again!
PEEP-PEEP-PEEEEP!
"Out of the way, George!" James snapped, as he approached, George's front roller slightly edged on the line.
George gasped and fell back in surprise, as James advanced forward, then glared at him as he chuffed out of sight.
"Why, that big red clunk of scrap iron!" he murmured to himself. "I'll show him to…"
PEEP-PEEP!
"Well done, George!" Rebecca congratulated, as she made her way past. "Keep up the good work!"
"Oh, erm, thanks…, Rebecca," George dully replied, rather surprised as he watched her set off.
"Hmm…" he wondered to himself. "Perhaps a stress-free summer will be easy after all."
"A what?" Bertie wondered from nearby.
George gasped with surprise, before looking over at Bertie.
"Oh. Bertie! Goodness, me! What have you heard?"
Bertie laughed.
"Only the part you mentioned about a stress-free summer," the bus admitted.
"It's simple, Bertie. You see, I'm looking to spend a stress-free summer without getting angry at the railway, 'cause I know that never ends well for me."
"Oh," Bertie wondered, then chuckled slightly. "However is that going so far then?"
"Not bad. I figured I had nothing to lose if I did so, considering that the Fat Controller wants me to perform more duties closer to the railway. I'm really gonna do something with the three months he's given me."
"Like what?"
"Like read a book!" George loudly suggested, taking Bertie by surprise. "From start to finish! In that order!"
"Have you ever even read a book…?" Bertie wondered with confusion.
"No, Bertie! It's an expression," Georged sighed, then went on. "Just think of it, though. My time; time to smell the fresh air and let the breeze blow right past!"
"I see," Bertie thought, understanding a little more, as the men climbed aboard.
"Bertie," George decided at last, "I proclaim this 'the Summer of George...!'"
BUZZZZZZ!
At that moment, a fly into George's face and caused him to gasp in surprise
"Ah! Ah! Ah! Get away! Get away!" he groaned.
Bertie chuckled, then honked and set off with the workmen aboard.
As soon as George arrived back at Knapford, he made a beeline for the Fat Controller's office immediately.
"Ah," he sighed. "I wonder what the fat man will have in store for me today…"
"This is all your fault, Ben!"
"My fault?! You were the one who tried to take my line of trucks, Bill!"
George's thoughts were rudely interrupted by a pair of familiar voices arguing from inside the station.
"You mean my trucks!" Bill argued back. "Besides, you were the one who tugged at the train and caused China Clay to spill everywhere!"
"Did not!'
"Did too!"
"Did not!'
"Did too!"
"Oh, no," George groaned, as he circled slowly around by the station entrance. "Not those two."
"Did not!'
"Did too!"
"Did not!'
"Did too!"
The Fat Controller held his hand over his head and groaned in dismay at having to listen to the twins argue back and forth, then at last rose his head up and held his hand enough before them at a distance.
"Enough!" he bellowed at last. "I don't care whose fault it was! All I do know is that neither of you will be working at the Clay Pits for quite some time! Especially after I see to it that your punishment is well and truly established!"
He proceeded to think hard for a moment and look around, as George chuckled quietly to himself from outside the and yawned.
"Well," he decided at last. "If I won't be needed, I might as well treat myself to a little of me time…"
"Ah! George!"
George stopped in surprise at the sound of the Fat Controller's voice, pretending he didn't hear him, but he was already caught in the act.
"Over here, George. I'd like to have a word with you."
George sighed heavily and turned around, slowly advancing toward the station, avoiding eye contact with the twins who eyed him with suspicion.
"Yes…, sir?" George replied.
"It seems as if you arrived at just the right time, George," the Fat Controller told him. "I was just thinking of what to do with these two."
"Whatever do you mean, sir?" George wondered.
The Fat Controller coughed loudly, before turning to the twins.
"Bill and Ben," he announced. "I propose that you work with George as your punishment and stay with him at the RoadWorks until I can trust you two with behaving again."
"What?!" they spluttered.
"Erm...pardon me, sir?" George inquired.
"No way!" Bill protested.
"Ahem!"
The Fat Controller coughed loudly, raising an eyebrow, causing them both to sigh reluctantly.
"Fine."
"Fine."
"Erm…sir?" George wondered. "Perhaps…"
"Now, George," the Fat Controller cut off, taking no notice of George's skepticism. "I'm counting on you to make sure Bill and Ben stay on their best behavior. After all, I have asked you to spend the summer performing duties closer to the railway, haven't I?"
"I guess so, sir," George said dully. "But maybe…"
"Good!" the Fat Controller beamed. "I trust that they'll be in good hands then!
He turned to Bill and Ben.
"Now, off you go, you two. Fetch the workmen's brake van and meet George back here at the station. You have a busy day ahead of you worth of railway maintenance."
And he hurried back towards his office.
"Wait, sir!" George called. "Can't we talk about this?"
But his plea was drowned out by Bill and Ben's loud whistling, as they slowly exited the station towards the Yard. George groaned as he watched them set off.
"Why do you get yourself into these situations, George?" he wondered to himself with dismay. "This was supposed to be your time."
He sighed heavily and shut his eyes, hoping to at least get a moment's peace before starting his day out with the twins.
The twins found a work coach, and were coupled up to it at once before making their way back towards the station.
"You know, Ben," Bill thought. "Maybe working with George will be fun."
"It will be?" Ben wondered, rather confused.
"Yes! After all, we already know what he's like after the accident he nearly caused BoCo, now don't we?"
"Oh, yes," Ben remembered.
"So the joke's on us today, Ben," Bill decided, as they advanced towards the station. "We'll show him what it's like to mess with our friend."
"How would we do that?"
"It's simple, Ben. Everything that clumsy roadhog tells us to do, we'll do the exact opposite."
"The opposite?! But…the Fat Controller told George to monitor our behavior. We might not get back to the Clay Pits otherwise…"
"Shh!" Bill hissed, grinning as they made it closer to the platform. "Just follow my lead."
They stopped at the platform, though Bill felt a little jolt and glared back at his twin.
"Don't push, Ben!" he demanded.
"I didn't push!" Ben argued back. "You were the one who braked first arriving at the platform, Bill!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
As George listened to the twins bicker back and forth, he groaned with dismay and thought hard to himself.
"Face it, George," he said to himself. "You can't spend a stress-free summer around these two. It's just not possible. After all, this is the 'Summer of George'." He thought harder, thinking of what to do, when an idea came to his mind. "I know," he thought. "The only way to spend my summer stress-free is if I have those two out of my hair." He thought a little harder. "But, how? Hmm…"
PEEP-PEEP!
PEEP-PEEP!
"Shake a leg there, lazybones!" Bill remarked, as they passed.
Ben chuckled along with them, George watching them with bewilderment.
"Why, that little…! I'll show them to…" Then he calmed down a little, as he made his way along the road alongside them. "Keep it together. Stress-free, remember? I'll have those sent away soon enough."
George's first job with the twins was to inspect a section of the Vicarstown Bridge.
The twins came to a stop right at the Vicarstown Bridge, as George stopped right beside them.
"At last!" Ben sighed with relief from the back. "Took a little longer than expected. You probably should have had me heed the front instead."
"No way!" Bill snapped. "Besides, I'm much faster than you, Ben!"
"No, you're not! You got us here at a snail's pace!"
"I did not!"
"Did too!"
"I did not!"
"Did too!"
George watched eyed them back and forth, gradually starting to lose patience, as a quiet growl got gradually.
"GrrrrrrrRRRRRRAH! ENOU…"
"George!"
George looked over in surprise as the foreman approached him.
"Thank goodness you were able to make it, George. The men have to work on the Bridge to make sure the support beams are functioning, so that it's safe for approaching engines. We need you to warn approaching engines."
"Yes, sir. Consider it done."
He watched as the men left to inspect the Bridge, then chuckled deviously to himself.
"Those two little demons are under my control. I'll have them do the exact opposite of what's supposed to be done. After all, if every instinct I ever had was wrong, then the opposite would have to be right, wouldn't it?"
He watched as the men worked on holding the beams to the bridge together so as to prevent it from wobbling when engines passed over. The foreman walked back over to him.
"Bridge seems to be safe to pass," he explained. "Be sure to tell the twins."
"Hmm…" he wondered, as he trundled slowly over towards the twins.
"Okay, you two. Whenever an engine comes along, I need you to tell them to wait until the Bridge is repaired.
"Whatever you say, George," they replied, glancing over at each other.
They listened as they heard Connor's whistle from the distance. George reversed and watched back with interest, as Connor advanced slowly into view.
"You're good to go, Connor!" Bill assured him.
"What?!" George spluttered.
"Thanks, you two!" Connor greeted, and made his way over the Vicarstown Bridge with his coaches, as Hiro passed over the other side.
"Tell him to wait, tell him to wait!" George pleaded, mouthing his words with anxiety.
The twins grinned at him then looked over at Hiro.
"You're clear to go, Hiro!" Ben told him.
"Thank you, Bill and Ben!" Hiro said gratefully. "You are both very kind."
George was speechless.
"Why, those two little…! GrrrrRRRRAH…..!"
He immediately stopped himself from going beyond rage, having another thought.
"Keep it together. There's always a Plan B."
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
Their next job was to do a signal check along the line, and George had other ideas of how to get the twins sent away.
George watched the men examine the nearby signal, and saw that Bill was near enough to the ladder set up on the line right beside the signal for his next plan to go into action.
"Sometimes," he said to himself, sidling slowly towards the brake coach , "all you need to speed things along a bit is a little nudge."
He backed slowly into the brake coach just as no else was looking, causing Bill to roll his eyes and jolt forward, knocking the ladder over along with the signal, which slowly tipped over.
"Uh oh," Bill gasped.
The signal fell immediately over towards a nearby George.
"Woah!" George wailed, as the signal knocked him over and landed on the track.
PEEP-PEEP!
"Woah!" Thomas wailed, braking hard as he stopped right before the fallen signal and glared down at George, Emily whistling and stopping just behind him, Annie and Clarabel.
"Is…everything alright, Thomas?" she asked.
"Everything seemed okay," Thomas admitted, "until George knocked this signal over."
The men all chattered quietly as they looked over at George.
PEEP-PEEP!
"Ooh," Ben wondered, as he rolled up alongside Bill. "Knocked over a signal, have you, George?"
"What?!" George spluttered. "I don't knock any…"
"Ahem!"
George looked up as the foreman raised an eyebrow at him and nodded, then groaned with dismay as the twins giggled quietly.
"I'll get those two out of my hair if it's the last thing I ever do!" he murmured to himself.
By sunset, George was leading Bill and Ben back to the RoadWorks, but the twins annoyed him all the way.
"Are we there yet?" Bill asked.
"No," George answered, glaring from the front.
"Are we there yet?" Ben asked
"No!" George replied, this time a little snappier.
"Now?" Bill asked.
"No!"
"Now?" Ben asked.
"No!"
"Now?"
"NO!"
"Now?"
"GrrrrrRRRAH…!"
George quickly stopped himself from lashing out at the twins, and settled down as he proceeded along the road.
"Stress-free, George," he reminded himself. "Stress-free."
They arrived back at the RoadWorks soon enough, and George led to their shed, though the twins were immediately appalled.
"What's this?" Bill demanded.
"Carriage shed," George bluntly replied.
"No way!" Ben protested. "It's so small compared to our shed back at the Clay Pits!"
George yawned, as he parked himself right beside the shed.
"Suit yourselves," he said sleepily.
Bill and Ben watched with surprise as he closed his eyes and went quickly to sleep, then proceeded to make their way into their shed. George snored away, sighing happily to himself.
"Summer of George," he murmured quietly to himself. "Summer of George…"
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
"Oi! Bill!" Ben shouted, waking George up with a start. "Move up! I need a place to sleep too, you know!"
"I'm taking no more space than you are!" Bill replied. Besides, I was here first, Ben!"
"No fair!" Ben replied. "You're taking up the entire shed!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Grrrr," George slowly growled. "If I ever last see the last of those two, it'll be very soon."
He closed his eyes and tried to get to get to sleep, though the twins' arguing was making it very difficult for him.
"Grrrrrahhhh," he moaned quietly, his eyes shut tight.
The twins eventually stopped, but by sunrise, they were out and about again, ready to start their day's work.
PEEP-PEEP!
PEEP-PEEP!
"Wake up, lazybones!" Ben remarked.
"Oi! Ben! That's my joke! Get your own!"
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Ah," George sighed quietly to himself, as he watched the twins shunt trucks and flatbeds around the RoadWorks. "And now for old George's next plan to go into action…"
Soon enough, the time came for trucks of scrap to be taken out, and the RoadWorks manager gave the twins instructions on what to do.
"Okay, Bill and Ben," he told them, pointing towards a line of trucks in a nearby siding. "That line of trucks over there needs to be taken to Crocks Scrap Yard for Reg to dispose of…" He pointed his pen over towards another siding. "…while that other line of waste trucks needs to be taken to Whiff's Waste Dump."
The twins glanced over at one another, not intrigued by either job.
"It's up to you to decide how you want take them," the foreman finished. "I highly suggest taking them to both locations one line of trucks at a time. You obviously have all morning to do so."
They watched as he walked off, then sniffed in disgust at the smell of the rubbish trucks.
"I'll take the scrap trucks," Bill decided. "You can take the smelly rubbish trucks, Ben!"
"What?!" Ben spluttered. "No way! I won't take it all by myself, Bill!" Then he cheekily remarked, "besides, that'd mean you'd possibly be sent for scrap!"
Before the argument could go any further, George lurked slightly into view.
"Erm, if I may, you two," he began, as they turned their undivided attention towards him with surprise, "I think it'd be beneficial if you took all the trucks at once instead of arguing about which line of trucks either of you takes."
The twins thought about this for a moment, before turning their eyes back towards George.
"Ooh," Bill wondered. "That's a very kind of you to think of such a thing, George."
"Oh, yes, indeed," Ben added. "The question is, erm…"
"Why do you suggest it?" Bill finished.
"Well, erm...uh...uh, you see, eh…"
The twins giggled quietly with amusement as he struggled to think of an answer, but then calmed down and took a deep breath.
"Because I'm pretty sure the Fat Controller will send you back to the Clay Pits if you show how really useful you are," he suggested.
"Is that it?" Ben wondered teasingly. "Or do you just want us gone?"
"What?!" George spluttered. "Never! I mean, I'd never...eh...erm…"
The twins chuckled as they went about their shunting, George watching them with anxiety.
As the twins got their trucks ready to take away, they thought hard about George's offer.
"I say, Ben," Bill thought. "Picking on George sure is fun, but at the same time, I do miss the Clay Pits."
"Me too," Ben agreed. "What do you suggest we do, Bill?"
"Perhaps there's a way we can get what we want both ways," Bill thought.
"How?" Ben wondered.
"I have an idea," Bill decided. "Quick. Let's finish shunting all these trucks first."
They went back about their shunting, and not another word was said. George watched with surprise as they shunted both lines of trucks up together as one train.
"How about we make you a deal, George?" Bill suggested, as he and Ben stopped right across from him.
"A deal?!" George spluttered. "With me?!"
"We're happy to accept your challenge," Bill went on, "provided that you accompany us."
"What?! No way! Absolutely no…!"
"Fine," Ben thought. "Guess we're not going to accept your challenge then."
"Yeah," Bill added, then had another thought. "Oh, dear. What would the Fat Controller say if we told him you weren't doing your job in looking after us?"
"No!" George snapped, then settled down and sighed with reluctance. "Oh, alright. I'll do it. But make it quick, you two! We haven't got all day!"
PEEP-PEEP!
PEEP-PEEP!
He watched as they set off to fetch their trucks. Bill backed down on the front of the train and was coupled up, as Ben went around and buffered up behind.
"Ready, Bill?" Ben asked, as he was hitched up to the train.
"I was ready long before you, Ben!" Bill sneered. "I heeded the front of the train first!"
"Go on then," Ben encouraged.
"I will,' Bill assured him, glancing back at him, before proceeding to try and pull the train.
"Uh…uh…" Bill groaned, struggling to pull the train forward, as George watched with amusement.
Bill tugged and pulled, and pulled and tugged at the heavy train, but he couldn't manage to pull it forward.
"What's wrong, Bill?" Ben wondered. "I thought you were strong enough to pull this heavy train!"
Bill groaned and sighed, backing down before glaring back at his twin.
"You know, you're not helping by sitting at the back doing nothing, Ben!" he snapped. "Perhaps you should try and push the train whilst I pull!"
"You know I can't do that, Bill!" Ben insisted. "You're the one pulling the train, and I can only push once you get it moving, but you're not making much progress doing that! Maybe I should have taken the front of the train instead…for a change."
"What?!" Bill spluttered. "I highly doubt that that would make a difference, Ben! Besides, I always take the front of the train, so I'm obviously stronger then you!"
"Are not!" Ben argued back, tugging the train backwards.
"Are too!" Bill snapped, tugging the train forward.
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Hmm…" George murmured, watching their scuffle back and forth with interest.
He whistled and looked the other way as he advanced slowly forward towards the twins and their trucks.
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
As the twins tugged back and forth at the heavy train, what neither of them failed to notice was that the first truck was beginning to slowly tip over, and George didn't notice this either as he rolled towards the heavy train.
"Give up, Ben, and admit it!" Bill demanded.
"You give up!" Ben demanded, pulling the train backward. "I can pull this stinky rubbish train twice as fast as you can!"
"Can not!"
"Yes, I can!"
"Can not!"
"Yes, I can!"
George chuckled quietly as he watched them pull the train back and forth, but then there was trouble!
All of a sudden, the first truck's brakes snapped and the gear jammed in the sleepers!
"Woah!" George wailed, watching as the truck tipped over in his direction.
He swerved and toppled over as the truck landed right on top of him.
Several trucks were derailed and a load of rubbish had landed all over George!
George angrily spit rubbish out of his mouth and glared over at the twins and the mess that was made. Ben couldn't help himself laughing.
"Oh, my, George," he chuckled with amusement. "You're not a pretty picture!"
"Look what you've done, Ben!" Bill snapped. "This was all your fault!"
"My fault?!" Ben spluttered. "You were the one tugging the front of the train, Bill! You caused the first truck to tip over!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"No, I didn't!"
"Yes, you did!"
"I didn't!"
"You did!"
George winced and glared as they argued back and forth, spitting more rubbish from his mouth.
It wasn't long before Harvey arrived to clear away the derailed truck and Butch lifted George up on his side again.
"My, my, George" he wondered. "However did you get yourself into this mess?"
"Don't ask," George groaned, and slowly made his way about again, murmuring to himself.
Bill pulled the unhurt trucks of scrap away to the Scrapyard, while Ben took the rest of them to the Dump. George had to stay at the RoadWorks and help clear up the mess, a job that he didn't like one bit!
"Railways are no good!" he groaned to himself, as he pulled some fallen pieces of scrap and rubbish around the back to the dump. "Turn 'me into roads! Pull 'em up! Turn 'em into roads! And please," he begged to himself, "let this moment of humiliation mean I will have seen the last of those two!"
Later, after the mess was cleared, the Fat Controller came to the RoadWorks to see George and the twins. He did not look very happy.
"I am very disappointed in you both!" he scolded. "You have caused a lot of trouble with your carelessness! Several trucks have been derailed, much delay was caused because of it, and just think about what you did to poor George!"
The twins looked at George, still covered in rubbish, and attempting to hold back laughter at such.
"Ahem!"
George cleared his throat and rolled slowly forward to speak to the Fat Controller.
"I did try to warn them, sir, not to take too many trucks," he suggested, as a surprised Fat Controller suddenly gave him his undivided attention. "But you know what they can get like at times. It'd take a miracle to keep those two in order."
"Indeed," the Fat Controller nodded in agreement, then sighed and looked back towards the twins.
"Well, Bill and Ben" he decided, "I have decided to elaborate your punishment."
George listened with intrigue as he went on.
"I was originally only going to have you both here for a day before sending you back to the Clay Pits, but it seems like neither of you can behave yourselves. Therefore, I have decided…to keep you both working with George here, at the RoadWorks…for the whole summer."
George's eyes widened with horror, as the twins gasped with surprise and were quick to accuse each other.
"This was all your fault, Ben!" Bill snapped.
"No, it wasn't! It was yours!" Ben argued back.
"No! It was your fault!"
"Your fault!"
"It was yours!"
"Yours!"
The Fat Controller groaned with dismay and expressed a facepalm, before walking back towards his car. George was left to watch the twins bicker and forth, his rage slowly increasing.
"GrrrrrrrRRRRRRAHHHHH!" he cried. "This was supposed to be the 'Summer of George'!"
George realized that by getting the twins into so much trouble, he had only made them stay there with him longer than they were supposed to be!
And so that wraps up George's arc for this season. Thanks to Chase The Ferroequinologist for the story idea. The Seinfeld references were a blast to write, and I've been inspired to include them the moment I looked at the episode at the same name for inspiration. I'm going to go out on a limb here: this was my favorite ending I have ever written. For a story for there are no heroes in particular, it felt like one that was well-deserved: the twins for their carelessness and George for his treachery and conniving nature. If the ending to The Railcar And The Coaches hadn't inspired me enough, it feels like another one of those funny endings that will never get old for me, and cracks me up every time I look back at it. I do think the humor fact comes out of the bad karma that George receives for his constant plotting to get rid of Bill and Ben, and he learns that if he had sucked it up and dealt with them for a day, than maybe he wouldn't have had it coming it to him. As for the George/Bill/Ben dynamic, it was also a real doozy considering how common it was for the twins to try and push George's buttons. Having them do the opposite of what he told them was another clear Seinfeld reference to the season 5 episode The Opposite. It was also nice to include Connor and Hiro in one-liner roles considering that haven't spoken yet in this set, bear the latter ever speaking in my stuff. I'm reaching the ending streak for Set 2, before I move on No. 3. Moving forward, Summertime Surprises will continue on with an original character that I have recently introduced, followed by an old-school dynamic from back in the day that I have decided to tackle. As always, keep on the lookout for...
Serenity Saul - Saul attempts to learn from his experience on his first day by rushing the engines on their way with their deliveries, but messes up when he mixes up their loads!
Daisy Crosses The Line - Toby brings the workmen up to Harwick to inspect the line in case of any buckles in the hot sun, but Daisy ignores his warnings so as to keep time with her passengers and lands herself into trouble.
