Sorry guys. It's just that things kicked off at high speed in the last months.
For me, getting Jonas and the Devils acquittanced, is the hardest thing. There are some bits but so far, things are established with some major tweaks in this and next chapter. Then I can really begin.
I have been busy on new fics and I was stuck on this for a long time.
Plus life wasn't easy for me and now, things are finally calmed down.
Next up is Afraid to Shoot Strangers.
As for the replies of the guests here.
Ray D. Thank you for the compliment. I will keep it in mind. I wasn't a hundred percent for this chapter but I had so much pent up frustration that I needed to work it out. Rushing things is impossible given the fact that I am stuck with this schedule. For now, I had a real tough nut to crack and now, I can work things out further on.
As for Guest-Questioner. I'm thorough when I want to.
As for the received training. Seal Team Six is spec ops from the USA, right? Yep. Jonas received a training regiment that is close not just to military but a notch above that. More like special forces training. Which is from what I know a lot worse than your usual soldier training.
Jonas received that and then beyond that what you can call undisclosed training, hence transforming him into what he is now. That's how he got his skills. Human isn't a thing he fits in. As for the grammar, sorry about that. English isn't my first language.
So with all that over, let's get going.
Jonas woke up, his biological clock back working like it should do its job. He hadn't been used to sleeping that well. Of course, he had gotten used to sleeping alone. It was inconvenient especially with the nightmares that plagued his mind.
He had learned not to fear. If you can kill something.
And you can kill something if it bleeds.
But when he faced things he couldn't understand, he feared it. And that was the things that killed him in his nightmares.
Last night was an exception. Not only didn't he have nightmares but he had even slept well. When he opened his eyes, he could see why. A beautiful girl could do many things.
Raynare had her arms wrapped around him, pressing him close to her body. Not that his face would be buried in her breasts, although those were pressed pleasantly against his chest. He had to admit they caused an effect that he would not deny. But he had a real desperate need to take a piss.
His brown-red eyes could look right at Raynare's violet. "Morning, Jonas." She said in a chirpy voice.
"Morning, Ray." He said, stifling a yawn. When his hand left his mouth, he could see the woman here in front of him. And he had to admit. She was oh so pretty.
"So what do you intend to do today?" She smirked as he just raised an eyebrow. What she didn't expect was the fact he gave her a kiss on her lips.
"I think that's a start. And I hate to be a killjoy but I got my school to go to. So I am afraid but I have to go." He said as he looked at the bemused Fallen Angel who just playfully looked at him. "You go to school? Jonas. Why should you? Last time I checked, you had a buck load of cash saved on you and you have a Ph.D. so why the fuck going to school?"
"First of all. I got to school cause neechan would be angry if I don't go and second. In what do I have a Ph.D.?" The question came surprised.
"Your sis would be angry. Has to be one scary woman to make you fear her. And you are a graduated badass and scary motherfucker." She said as she still let him get up.
A wolf whistle came out. Damn, he looked good. Why was it just an issue a short while ago? When he was eight, she didn't even think about giving this boy a peck. Now, in the blink of an eye, he had grown up like and she liked what she saw.
"Neechan isn't scary to me but she can be. And I don't want to make her mad. She is the one who raised me in the last few years. Second. That doesn't get anything else on the table." Jonas said as he took on the trouser.
"I look forward to meeting her in that case. Sounds like she and I would get along." A snort made it clear Jonas had either agreed or he didn't. "And what do you intend to do after this?" Jonas shrugged.
"Truthfully. I just wanted to pass school so neechan said I had at least a high school degree. When I am done with that, I had no idea. But now." He touched Raynare and she felt his young hands on her neck. They were rough, yet they still had some bits that felt supple like a child.
"I have met an old friend who I thought I would never see again and I think I'm going to take care of her and her friends as long as she wants." His honest reply caused Raynare to blush and Jonas just sighed. His face turned red as well. Just a few bits. Emotions were hard.
His neechan took him years to break that down.
Taking his neck, she dragged him closer and the kiss they had would no be good to see for others. But they couldn't care less.
In his eyes, it was clear that he hadn't forgotten about her. The Fallen Angel had never seen humans in a positive notice but this kid was not just human.
"Look. As much as I would love to lay here and go to second base, I got to school and I don't want the Devils to knock at my door. If you want breakfast, I can make some for you. But see if your friends want some as well."
Raynare nodded and she left the blankets. Jonas was wondering when she lost underwear and her common decency but he was not one to wonder about those. So when a butt naked Fallen Angel woke up two other Fallen Angels, Jonas went to the kitchen.
After he went to the toilet.
Putting up a coffee blender, he made a pot large enough for at least four persons.
He began to clutch some eggs and bacon. He could use it now. And if he could, they could. When the eggs were mixed up, he poured them in the bacon that had been sizzling. Turning to see Raynare still in her nude glory, she smiled at him.
He raised an eyebrow and pointed to the door. "Sorry but you need to be at least dressed in some regards. Out." With a pout that made her adorable, the raven-haired beauty made her way to the room. One of the Fallen Angels, Kalawarner had come down.
Jonas guessed they raided his sisters dressing as she was wearing a white shirt with a knot in and black jeans. He admitted that she looked stunning in those despite the shirt was a bit too small for her.
Damn, why did those Super Natural species have to be so hot?
Her tits nearly popped out the shirt and it showed him a generous amount of cleavage.
Why did his hormones bother him so much?
The blue-haired beauty had a gratitude that was met with an appetite when she saw Jonas.
The idea she was hungry or thirsty in multiple ways was not too far a stretch.
"Good morning, Kerevechko-kun." She said as she went to stand beside him. He tried to ignore the fact that there were tits pressed on his back.
"Please, Kalawarner. I think you can call me Jonas. Ray's friends are mine. And it looks like you're as good as new." She nodded and blushed to see how blunt he had been. She looked over her back, her wings had been there.
"I have been better. How did we live through this?" She asked when Jonas stirred the eggs. When he was sure they would be fine, he took a few plates with mugs and placed them on the table.
"I'll tell you when the other one is here. Mittelt if I am not mistaken." Kalawarner nodded and took a seat when Jonas put up bread next to her. Placing the pan on an oven mitt, he just waited until Raynare and Mittelt got back.
Raynare wore a shirt that was his from his sister as well. It was black and it fitted her better than Kalawarner. Mittelt had taken a shirt from him as it was too big for her. Jonas had no idea if she wore underwear but wasn't going to ask.
The little one gave him a nod as she sat down.
"Itadakimasu." He said as he divided the eggs between the Fallen Angels who certainly worked up an appetite. They started eating the meal like hungry wolves and Jonas wondered how much they had eaten the last few days. He didn't really wonder about it too much as he had been hungry as well. The pan got empty of eggs quickly and with a few hungry stomachs, his own included, Jonas went back to cooking.
He had begun stirring a few more eggs and worked on more food for the group.
"Now, when you are cooking, Jonas. Raynare, how did we survive? Last bit I remembered, that motherfucker cut our wings off."
"Asia healed us." The words were something bitter said by Raynare as the former Nun had been lured in the place as she had been cast asides as dirt by the Church. They had done it before and it had stung never as hard as with the little blond.
"Donasheek went with the ritual. She was a goner like all of us would have been. The Devils of this place. They saved us. They stopped the exorcists. The redhead reincarnated Asia-chan as one of her Devils. Jonas had her patching up us."
They turned to the man who put a few mugs, all filled with delicious coffee. They were grateful to have something to drink.
"I don't suppose they did that for free. What price did you pay for them?" Mittelt asked the guy as she poured an amount of sugar and milk in the coffee that made Jonas wonder how much of a kid she was.
"I told them my life story. Or parts of it at least. The Devils had never been able to figure out what I was and now they did with my own story that they had been so interested in. I think they would have been happier not knowing despite me leaving the details out." The only male said as he stirred in the eggs.
"I think we can all assume we have shit on our stories you'd rather keep to yourself. Given the fact that Ray never told us about Africa. Or she left out details we are happy of not knowing" Kalawarner had heard of what Jonas and he all did. But Raynare never told too much about it.
He didn't ask for their stories after all.
When they were done eating, Jonas knew he had to get to school. He would make a big appearance now after all.
But before that, he walked upstairs. Taking a baseball cap and his cloth, he walked back out with the cloth out of his neck, his vest open, revealing a shirt that had camouflage colors on it and the cap gave him some shading on his head.
For some reason, the girls blushed on it. He just raised an eyebrow but pressed a key in Raynare's hand.
"When I get back, I'll knock. Don't open the door in any other case. You can protect the house with magic if you want. I'll be back soon."
The instructions were met with nods but he didn't leave before pressing a kiss on Raynare's lips. When he was done, he walked to the school.
The looks he got were something new as for some reason, he had completely changed. The whispers grew only in numbers as he ended up at the school.
Sona stood outside, clearly checking up at the appearances of the students. "Morning, Kaichou."
The uncaring yet friendly voice caused the purple-eyed girl to look at him and in amazement, she had found Jonas to look very different than usual.
What was the thing she felt for him?
"Good morning, Kerevechko-kun. Any problems I should know off?" She asked in a strict voice but Jonas could detect that she was cutting him slack big time.
"Not really. When I run in problems, I'll let you know. But for now, I got nothing to report." The soldier said to her and she looked over his clothing.
"It looks like you have taken a loop with the school uniform but I think that nothing violates it. It's good to have you back at our school. I hope you can come to me after school. There are certain matters we have to discuss." Her signature move of setting her glasses straight made little room for protest.
Jonas made a two-fingered salute in mock to her. The grin on his face was nearly noticeable.
Same for her by the way. "Roger that." His instincts told him to get out the way of an incoming attack. When he rolled back, he was greeted by his pain in the ass, Miko.
"Morning Mitsuya. Don't you have anyone else to bother? Like someone you can bother." Jonas asked as he turned to her and he wasn't going to let up.
"You're back, huh, criminal. I was hoping that the police would have beaten you into a pulp. But it turns out that you walked out spot clean. It looks like those cops have become crooked." The sneer in her voice was so dripping Jonas wondered how she could speak without poisoning him by just talking to him.
It was like a cobra you had in front of you.
Too bad for her that he was a mongoose.
Those little critters were immune to the venom of the snake.
"Not really. But you don't want to start something like that. And didn't I say I would kill you when I got back? I got plenty of time to make good on that." He said as he was more than happy to make good on that threat.
Cracking his knuckles, he was ready to make good on that.
"Kerevechko. Mitsuya. There will be no killing and no more calling anyone outside the school." Jonas turned to the Student Council President who had a clear aura of darkness around her. The soldier had a good idea she was aiming that at Mitsuya but she couldn't play favorites.
"When one of you two act out of line, you will come to me and I'll make sure that the problem maker will be heavily punished. Is that clear?" The voice was ice-cold and Jonas wasn't shuddering on the ice she spread around. The kendo maiden, however, got it really chilly.
"If anyone of you two got outside interference, I will make sure that person will never make onto graduation. Is that understood?" Jonas couldn't help but grin on that.
"Well?"
"Y…. Yes, Kaichou." Miko said and moved away from ground zero. The glare in Sona's eyes didn't die down when she looked at Jonas. He could take the brunt of it.
He had seen scarier shit in his life.
"No issues here." He said to her. When Miko was out of earshot, she calmed down.
"Jonas. I do not want you under any circumstances, going after her. I do not want a scandal at this school. Am I clear?" Jonas just grinned at her.
"Kay, Sona. Anything else for now?" She shook her head at him.
"No. I know you're not a trouble maker. I just hope I don't have more issues to deal with. I know it's foolish but if you could keep things to a minimum, I'd be grateful." There was some sympathy she got from him as Jonas had been causing his fair share of problems. She was happy that she could go to him if those issues grew overhead.
"If you got any problems, do you want me to deal with them?"
"Soldier."
"Yes."
"No."
"Noted." He left and walked in the school like he owned the place. Sona sighed on the matter. What a man that he was.
In the school, Jonas had picked up that Asia had joined the class of Issei and that she stayed with him. In the break, he got a visit from the pair with a formal and big thank you.
Jonas just shrugged on the matter and told them he had his own reasons to help them out. Akeno, however, was ignoring him but there was no reason that he had to wonder about that.
At the end of the day, he walked to the Student Council room.
The four beauties of Kuoh were gathered. With behind them, their Peerage who wasn't missing a single member.
Issei had Asia's hand in a grip next to him as even seeing him, it still was scary to see this guy.
As for Jonas, if he was normal, that would be a bit threatening. For him, it was not. He took off his cap and walked to the couch he had to sit on.
"So what is it you want to hear from me?"
"How are the Fallen Angels doing?" Sona asked, straight getting into business. He shook his head. "Not really. Not much I can say. They do well. For those who have nearly died." Jonas answered and Rias could only sigh.
"I suppose that is true. Now, we have heard your story on this. Now, the other question is? How long have you been in Kuoh?"
Raising his head, Jonas began to count the years in his head.
"I arrived after the Winter Offensive ended in Northern Africa so I would say that I'm here for ten years, give or take a few months. I also was around when things came crashing down here. I wasn't the biggest one who had to clean up but I could join in the fun. Let me tell you that we didn't look forward to it."
"What is he talking about?" Issei asked. Rias could only sigh.
"That is a long story. One we rather don't speak about."
"Sure, put your head in the sand. At least, you've been here for three years and shit didn't blow up too far." Jonas answered. The four glared at him but he could only tip his cap.
"Don't go on this. We all have things to deal with."
"Okay. Next question." Sona said as Jonas relented.
"I suppose that becoming a part of one of our Peerages isn't up on the table?" Jonas could only cross his arms and glare.
"Good guess. Next question?"
"Will you be a threat to Kuoh?" Jonas shook his head.
"Nope. My best gamble was that you guys went home and didn't hear from me. But that is not on the table. So I want to make a deal with you."
The two [Kings] perked up on that.
"You're going to allow those Fallen Angels living under me to be left in peace. If there are others that I take under my wing, they're my responsibility. In return, if you guys need a hand for whatever reason, let me know. Sounds reasonable to me."
Rias crossed her arms, clearly unimpressed by Jonas' request.
"Oh, so you're saying that you working for us as hired force is something we should see as a boon to us?"
Jonas was only still.
"Like it or not. You got Kuoh from your siblings. But before that, I made the law out here. I was the one who killed Strays. I was the one who kept this place safe. I'm this town Deputy. And nothing in this place happens without my say so. You can have me as a valuable ally or as a terrifying foe. It's your choice. I hate fights that can be avoided but if you touch what's me and mine, you can be damn sure I'll hunt to the end of the earth. And to be honest. You saw the Church. You really think that you alone could have done that?"
Sona coughed up and broke the glaring contest between her rival and her, well, Deputy.
"Jonas. It might be something but we cannot just take your word for it. Therefore, I have a proposition for you."
Turning the bob haired girl, he nodded to continue.
"There's an extremely dangerous Stray out there. To the point that our Siblings think it is too dangerous to take on. We are talking on taking this on together but in this case, we think that having you as an extra assurance would be a way to get the kill."
"And that way, you can see what I can do. Works for me." The soldier answered.
"There's just one thing. In terms of raw power, you're not that strong. So how do you back that up?" Rias asked and Jonas smirked.
"If you're not that strong, pack heat. Got a ton of good guns laying around for this. Second. Imagination is a weapon. Those who lack it will die first. Using that as tactics and see what sticks make a man a survivor. I can live with the idea you got, Sona. What's the location?"
"An abounded slaughterhouse. We'll meet there in two hours from now. For now, that is all."
"Not for me. In case, I prove myself worthy. Is the deal on or not?" Jonas asked the two. The glare he had on his face caused the two to sigh.
"If you prove yourself to be as strong as you say you are, yes. Those who you grant protection will be protected by you." Sona was the first to speak to us.
"In return, you will offer your services to us." Rias followed up.
"Okay, but I'm a gun for hire. If you expect me to do your shitty jobs, forget it. But okay, I'll catch you guys up there." He was ready to leave until he was stopped by the redhead.
"Hold on. There is another thing I would like to ask." Rias told the guy.
"The Fallen Angels. Where are they now?"
Jonas smiled at that. "They're at my place. Where else would they be? Why the question?"
Rias took a deep breath.
"They need to face punishment for getting into my town. Therefore, we want you to bring them forward."
"Did you just ignore what I said? In return for my services, everyone I offer protection is protected by me. So no. Ray and her friends have been through enough. And this is my home as well. So no. You don't get them. Touch them without my permission. And you're next to die."
Rias' eyes began to color as the atmosphere grew heavy.
"Are you threatening me?"
"No." Jonas hand went to his bag and took out his prized M1911. "Now I am. You don't get to touch Raynare. End of the line."
"Enough, you two. Jonas. We don't think it is a good idea to keep the Fallen Angels at home. Therefore, we think we should get them around a place where we can all keep an eye on them." Sona was the voice of reason.
It worked because Rias' aura died down and Jonas put his gun away.
"You want them to transfer to this school?" The guy relaxed. The idea of having Raynare back around at this school would be a nice bonus.
Not that they needed to know that.
"Yes. We think it might be good for them. And also for us. What do you say?" Jonas didn't have to think too long.
"Sure. If you want them around, that is okay. But. No one is doing any harm to them. So is that okay?"
Sona nodded. "I do not like the idea of Fallen Angels at our school but we think it is for the best. If you can protect them, we'll make sure that they're treated correctly. With the paperwork, we can enroll them very soon in the future. We'll give you a notification when that can happen. Also, we want to take a look at your base."
Jonas scratched his cheek. "That is perfect as I intend to move to my base. I'll move coming weekend. Can you guys drop by on Sunday when I got everything set up. Cause going now isn't a good idea."
"Why not?"
"It got automatic sentry guns. Browning M2's. Even as Devils. You got hit by those things, you'll turn into bloodstains. 50 caliber guns and they are pretty damn strong. So you don't want one of those in your body. When I'm around. I'll shut it down. I'm gonna visit the place to get my stuff. Anything else so far?"
Sona shook her head. "No. We'll start on the paperwork tomorrow. But take your Fallen Angels with you in this fight. We can use every hand we can get to take that Beast down."
"Noted. I'll see you guys there. Oh, before I leave, can I get some contact details?"
Both Rias and Sona gave the phone number. Taking out his military cellphone, they got a confirmation text.
Technology, you gotta love it.
He stood up and walked to the door.
Turning back, he gave a smirk that caused the others to have chills down their spine.
"Glad to do business with you. Oh and Hyoudou." Issei stiffened when Jonas addressed him.
"That thing you got latched in your arms is one royal pain. I would start training like mad. Otherwise, the [Boosted Gear] will wreak havoc on your body. And believe me. I know what that thing is. Cya." With that, the mercenary left.
Issei looked to his arm. In some way, Jonas caused that thing to wake up.
Jonas didn't waste time to get home. When he got there, the arms of Raynare were wrapped around him.
Yeah, he could definitely get used to this.
"Hello, Raynare." She let him go and smiled at him. She had changed into her Yuuma style. She was a bit around his age.
Not that he minded the way she looked.
He knew who she was.
"Hey, Jonas. How was school?"
Jonas rolled his eyes. "Tiring as hell. And there's some stuff I got to tell you about. The others as well." Raynare nodded as she pecked his cheek and wrapped her arms around his.
Yeah, he needed to get used to this.
The two found Kalawarner in the kitchen.
His heart nearly died there as he remembered last time a woman cooked here. Luckily, the smell was from good food that had cooked greatly. Smiling at the woman, she turned to him.
"Hello, Jonasavo-kun. How was your day at school?"
She had picked a bigger shirt up, most likely from him as the exposure was turned down.
"I'm fine, Kalawarner. School was something but there is some stuff that I need you all to talk about. Speaking of which, where is the last one?"
When he heard the television playing, he turned to see the blond Lolita watching television. "Hey."
"Yo."
They just greeted each other but he saw back that Kala was cooking dinner. For Jonas, that meant he didn't have to cook.
Scratch having Raynare around. Her two friends were a nice change of pace. Taking the plates, Jonas set the table.
"I think I should tell you how school went down. And we're leaving in an hour and a half when we're done eating." The food was put on the table and Jonas explained what had been going on.
The girls weren't happy that they were forced in the fight so soon and the fact they had to go to school but for Jonas, there was not much he could do.
Raynare didn't have to worry about a school uniform as she could wear her old uniform. Kala wondered if she got a right one and Mittelt wasn't too happy about the fact of wearing something else. Jonas remained unchanged in the protests and told them that was the card they got and they had to play with that one.
After dinner, Jonas took out a card from his drawer and handed a few to the girls.
They had one hour to get to the base and get to the Church. Texting Sona they could be ten minutes late, Jonas had to cut corners.
"Ray, can you give me a lift?" She sighed and walked up to him. "Okay but don't wriggle. Where do we need to go?"
She had been out her Yuuma outfit and Jonas wasn't focusing on the tits on his back.
"Fly west out of town. I'll tell you where to land." The three flew up and Jonas had no time to wonder how they remained undetected.
Between the woods, there was a base that was nearly unnoticed. The outside looked like it was hit by nature but Jonas was sure that they were on the right path.
With the card swipe, the doors were opened and the Fallen Angels could see how the automatic sentry guns were shut down.
The heavy steel door went open and they entered the place. It was far enough from the city but the place was soundproof.
Why the mercs haven't installed in the city was beyond him. They did love comfort, however. What the Fallen Angels first saw was more like a home place to stay as there were couches and chairs on a large table. On their left, there was a kitchen.
There were also two stairs. One went up, the other went down. Jonas knew that the one up was to rooms and most likely the place where he and the Fallen Angels would sleep. But now, he had to go down.
"Can you guys wait for me? I need to fetch something and don't come after me. Make yourself at home."
They sat down while Jonas went to get his stuff. Didn't take long before he got back with a heavy-looking gun on his shoulders. He had also taken a few boxes of ammo that were around his rear. He had also taken a gas mask with him that was from a few wars ago plus night goggles. The mask was on his throat while the goggles were strapped on his forehead.
"What's that?" Raynare asked as Jonas grinned.
"This is an FN M240. The US of A replaced the M60 as a general-purpose machine gun with this one. I owe a few and they're good guns to use. They shoot hard and I can use them for Stray's and so far I know. Gremory as Shitori weren't joking on this matter if they weren't to include you. We can catch them after the slaughterhouse. It's not too far from here."
Giving the coordinates, the Fallen Angels flew ahead. Jonas was going on foot and he ran after them. He had also taken his M1911 with him and a few extra rounds. In case he needed them.
Despite carrying nearly twenty kilograms of gun and ammo, he could easily keep up. He had also strapped the gun to his back. Therefore, he could use his arms freely.
He lost sight of the Fallen Angels but he had no reason to mind. He knew the place.
When it was abandoned, Jonas often used the place to train. When the Angels landed, there were greeted by hostile looks.
Not that they weren't used to those. After all, those were Devils.
"Where is Kerevechko?" Rias asked as her tone was cold and bitter.
"He's coming. Don't worry, he'll be here soon." The redhead crossed her arms and turned to her rival.
"You really think it was for the best to make that deal." Rias was still sour on that deal and Sona relented.
"Rias. Even if half what he says is true, then still, Jonas is a valuable ally to have around."
"Indeed I am. And don't you know it's rude to gossip about others." The group turned to Jonas who jogged in like he had not run five km's with twenty kilograms on his back. Taking off his machine gun, he pulled out the stock to place it against his shoulder. When he was sure the gun was clean, he pulled one of the boxes.
Strapping the ammo from the start on his gun, the group looked upon how Jonas pretty much kept that gun up with one hand.
"Kerevechko-senpai." Jonas turned to a brownish/red haired girl from Sona's peerage.
"How much does that gun weigh?" Jonas pondered about it.
"Tomoe?" Sona sighed exasperatedly but the Human didn't worry about it.
"Eh, this one? 12,5kg. unloaded. With the ammo. Take around 14kg."
The group looked flabbergasted on the weight he carried with his two hands.
"That much?"
"It is useable enough but in any case, you wanna hurt for Stray's?" Jonas asked and the others relented and they went back to the matter of hand. They turned to the door.
"Everyone, this is a very dangerous mission so all be on guard. We have to be careful." Rias shouted to her Peerage.
"Hai, Buchou."
"Same goes to you all. Be on guard." Sona was the one to follow.
"Hai, Kaichou." Her peerage chorused.
Jonas sighed and cracked his knuckles and charged his gun. Releasing it, he nodded to the Fallen Angels. He wasn't going to let anything happen to them but they didn't need to hear it.
"How are you going to see in the dark?" Issei asked.
"What nature has forgotten to give me, technology will provide." Jonas gave as an answer.
Taking his night goggles, he shoved them over his head.
"Kerevechko, the honor is to you." Jonas sighed as he kicked open the door. There was nothing out there so Jonas walked in with his gun ready to fire. It was not good to fire the M240 from the hip but you could do it.
If the thing didn't fly out your hands.
Jonas didn't fire but he was just looking around. What he saw wasn't really pretty.
"You guys can come in but it ain't good looking in here." They walked in and the smell of death was all around.
For some reason, none of them wanted to throw up.
If they did, no one would blame them.
The place was littered with corpses. Not just a few bodies, no, this place was full of dead bodies.
"What the fuck? How long has this thing been active?" Jonas glared through his goggles to Rias and Sona who could only look in shock.
"This is much worse than we would have guessed." A slitter made it clear that they were no longer along in the place. It was hard to determine where it came from so for some reason, they made a circle around the place.
Akeno looked up to see a disgruntled face in the top of the ceiling. "Eh, I think I found it." Jonas wasn't too sure as it was large and the face moved around.
"Well, what do I have here in my house? A couple of bats. With some crows. And a flightless one. My. This is going to be one pleasant dinner."
"We are here in the name of Gremory and Sitri. We have come." Much more wasn't said as Jonas fired his machine gun.
Like a train drum, it fired.
"Keep the chat for later." Whatever came down was a woman on top and a huge spider on the bottom. It moved fast around as it tried to avoid getting shot at.
The Devils just followed along as they told their servants to attack. Jonas hoped they stayed out of his fire-line.
Whatever it was, it could stand up to the attacks of the [Knights]. Jonas was sure his gun hit its target until he could feel the gun getting lighter. When the last bullets were shot out, the merc called it out.
"I'm dry. Give me some time."
Throwing open the handle, Jonas yanked the empty box down. When he took another one, his hand went over the bullets and they were placed. When he was sure it was stuck, he pulled the charge and fired again.
"Is it me or are we doing actually nothing to this thing?" Turning his head, he saw the Fallen Angels attacking the beast.
Jonas had to agree and when he turned to Rias and Sona, they had started to attack. In the meanwhile, the rest attacked and now Jonas understood why.
This beast could only focus on one attack point but when several hit it, it was impossible to attack.
But so far, it was a stalemate.
Jonas was wondering as he stopped and checked his ammo. Still enough.
Looking around, he saw Kiba and the [Knight] who asked him, attacking the beast. Jonas saw it was confused and when he saw the [Pawn] of Sona attacking it with a cable, it restricted the beast.
"Yo, Sona. Your [Pawn], with the sandy hair. Name?"
"Genshirou? Why the question?" She asked.
"I have an idea. Cause if you ask me, we don't do much on this thing. So I have a plan. Want to hear it?" Sona nodded.
"Gremory. You want to listen to? Cause I need you both on this?" Rias hated to admit but so far, they couldn't do much.
"Yes. What is it?"
"Tell your [Pawn's] to fall back and listen to me. Meanwhile, the others have to distract it."
Sona and Rias shared a nod. "I hope you know what you're doing."
"That goes for me as well. Everyone, keep this thing under pressure." Jonas shouted.
"Saji."
"Issei."
"Fall back." The two nodded and walked to their [King's].
"You two. Listen to Jonas. He has a plan." They turned to the senior who took the liberty to reload.
"Listen. The two of you. Gen. Your cable. You can restrict that thing, right?" Saji nodded.
"Okay. Then, when I give you the signal. Keep that beast under control. Doesn't have to be long. Keep it just hooked for a couple of seconds." Saji nodded and felt his wrist being restrained.
"Not now. When I give the signal." Nodding, Saji listened.
"Hyoudou. What can you do with the [Boosted Gear]? Can you punch it? Like with the Church yesterday?" Issei could only gulp.
"I think I can. If it is distracted and it is kept on one spot. Perhaps yes. But why?"
"Well, when you, Gen, keep this thing hooked, I want you to hit that Stray with every bit you got. You don't have to kill it. Just daze it." Issei was wondering what he got planned.
"Gremory. When that beast is dazed, me, you and Sona hit it with everything we got. Focus on the face. If it is not dead by then or at least wounded, we need to worry about other things."
They could only wonder how he came up with that but so far, they had no other plan. They really should do research on this thing next time.
But what they had in mind, they did.
Raynare smirked as they heard a scream.
"Asia." This thing was a spider as it shot out a web to the little [Bishop]. Issei wanted to go after her but felt Jonas holding him back.
"I need you here. Hold on." Before they ask, the web was cut off by lightening as Raynare captured the girl.
She was still tangled up but at least not pulled to the spider. When she laid in the arms of her captor, she smiled at her.
"Thank you, Raynare-sama."
The Fallen nodded and dropped her off to Rias. "Keep an eye on her." Jonas lifted his thumb and couldn't help but smile.
"Okay, you four know what to do?"
They shared a look and nodded. Saji didn't waste time and shot out the energy line. "Hyoudou. Now!" Issei just made one boost. For Jonas, that was enough.
Running up the beast, he impressed the others as the perv hit the Stray right in the face. The daze set in and three powerhouses hit the beast on target.
The magic of two of Hell's most promising daughters plus the gun of a son of Africa fired at the beast as the spider stumbled back. When it collapsed, the others fell back.
"Quick thinking, Kerevechko-senpai." The mercenary nodded and they could see the beast. "That was horrifying," Asia said and they all had to agree.
"Is it dead?" Tsubaki wondered. Jonas pulled out the bullets and he loaded his gun again. "Probably not."
His words weren't even spoken as the Stray veered up and with its legs, it rumbled the floor. They were ready to attack but the beast just retreated down there. When it was gone, they could only share a look.
"Oh come on." Issei moaned. "We tried to kill it but this thing just retreated."
Rias and Sona shared a look when they walked to the hole. "We need to go down."
"That is not a good idea."
Jonas answered. "That thing down there know this place and it will wait for us to come."
Akeno crossed her arms, pushing up her breasts. "Well, then, Kerevechko-san. Do you have an idea?" Jonas looked around on the place and began to see options.
"Yep. And one that won't make us go down. But just a question. You guys can summon water, right?" Sona gave him a nod.
"Yes, why is that important?" The president asked. Jonas looked around until he saw a monitor and smiled.
"We're going to fry that Stray." When he kicked open the monitor, there was one big cable.
The Devils just shared a look to what he was planning.
Down there, the Spider had retreated.
"Damn those Devils. I was hoping they would come and yet, they managed to hurt me. It is of no matter. When they come here, I'll."
Her monologue was cut off as water filled her burrows.
Her eight eyes widened as she felt the cold surrounded her. "Those Devils. They think they can draw me. I'll show them."
She had difficulties with moving her body but she knew where to go. Drowning was a thing she had to fear.
On the top floor, Sona summoned water to the hole while Jonas stood next to her. There were some rubber gloves laying around and despite the idea that it was not exactly hygienic to touch them, Jonas preferred to wash at home instead of getting fried.
Raynare had been powering up the cable. Using her Lightening, the cable was under high voltage. The idea of throwing it in immediately was cut short as that would not kill the spider.
The remainders were on the opposite side. In case, Jonas' plan would not kill the Spider, they had to fall back and the rest could give them some time.
The two were tense as they knew that it wouldn't take long.
"You two." Koneko alerted everyone. "She is coming."
How she did that, was not a big question but they were glad to get a warning.
When the black hair came out, Sona nodded as Jonas stuck the cable out. There was some distance as it hit the spider.
Luckily, Raynare didn't slack off. An inhuman scream filled the place as the spider was electrocuted.
"Drive up, Ray," Jonas shouted and he got what he needed. Eventually, the screams died down.
A smoldering corpse was all remained of their opponent. "Rias. For good measure."
The Power of Destruction was unleashed on the corpse and there was nothing left. Jonas was glad that it worked out.
"Next time. Be specific. A few frags or C4's would have been great on this thing." Jonas answered.
"We'll keep it in mind. But Kerevechko. This was to see if the deal you offered us was acceptable." It became clear at that point. Behind Rias and Sona, their Peerages were gathered. Jonas didn't need t know that behind him, the Fallen Angels gathered.
"And? What is your final say?"
"You're indeed strong. As an opponent, we do not wish you to have but as an ally. Yes. You are strong and worthy of our respect. Your deal is accepted." Rias answered.
"Agreed. Having you on our side is something we can both use. It is a shame you do not want to become a Devil and join our households. But your strength is something we will certainly need in the future." Sona followed.
Before he could give his answer, he was cut off.
"You will, however, need to join one of our Clubs as an official matter," Rias told him and Jonas relented.
"The Occult Research Club. Nothing against you, Sona but I'm not for paperwork. But. If you need my help, I can be borrowed without question. Is that okay? Buchou?"
"That is more than acceptable."
Jonas saluted the two. "Glad we can reach an agreement."
"There are just two things. They know they have to be in our school to keep watch over them." Jonas looked over his shoulder. There were no arguments he could detect.
"You're asking the wrong person but I don't see a problem. When will they enroll?"
Why was he looking forward to it?
"In the next days. We will give you a notice. Second." Rias answered.
"They will our club and also. We have to take a look where you got your… equipment." Sona asked as she eyed the machine gun.
"I told you guys. In the next weekend, I'm going to move there. Is that okay to take a look?"
Seeing nothing wrong with that, they agreed.
"Very well. We'll see you at school tomorrow." And by magical circles, they left.
Turning to the empty place, he looked at the Fallen Angels who had the same weariness as him. "Let's go the base and crash there. I don't want to make the trip to town."
With a heavy sigh, they could live with that.
They went on foot and when they landed at his place, there was nothing more than just crash in a soft bed.
Swiping the card and opening the steel doors, Jonas made his way in.
The three women followed soon.
"There are rooms upstairs. You can take one to your liking. I'm going to clean this gun and put it back." While he was tired, there were procedures to follow. Both Kalawarner as Mittelt had already agreed on that and made their way upstairs.
"Goodnight, Jonasavo-kun," Kalawarner answered to him.
"Night, soldier." Mittelt stifled a yawn.
When they left, he turned to Raynare and it was like he expected something.
"Don't you need to go to sleep?" She shook her head.
"Not until you are going to sleep. Besides, do you really need to take care of that gun? Leave it here and do it tomorrow."
With a shake of the head, Jonas closed the door and locked it.
He wasn't going to let others in the storehouse now.
Walking down the stairs, there were enough firearms. He had done a few big cleanups and placed the gun by family. Walking to the fifth place, he took the gun off on a desk that was installed in front of it.
Shoving the ammo he had not wasted under the desk, he began to dismantle the gun.
When he saw that it was past midnight, Jonas decided the rest could wait. The gun was clean and it was nearly assembled. He needed some sleep.
So when he made his way back, he found Raynare asleep on the couches. Deciding she could use some sleep in a bed, he woke her up.
"You should have gone to bed. I wouldn't mind it." Her glare was something.
"Yeah, and you not sleeping well. Nuh-uh, Jonas. You need to rest as well. Besides, you think I'm going to keep it once. So come on. Let's go to bed."
Jonas had to agree as they made their way to bed. He wasn't sure which room as there were two used ones.
Their luck proved to be working. The first room they chose was empty. Collapsing on it, they didn't bother changing their clothes as they just slept.
Morning wasn't too far off and they needed some sleep.
Meanwhile in Issei's room.
The upcoming Sekiryuutei sat down in his room. He wasn't sure about this whole thing. Of course, the whole thing of being a Devil was one thing. The fact he was around the most beautiful girls at school was also a nice bonus.
But when they fought that Stray. He wasn't sure but the fact Jonas figured that all out and managed to kill that thing.
He was just human. And yet, that guy looked like he didn't break a sweat.
And the fact he knew what he had in his body. The [Boosted Gear]. He really had to go after a bit more information.
But when he felt his master's arms around him, he tensed.
"Something on your mind, my cute servant?" Issei nodded as he felt Rias around him.
"Yes. I mean. Buchou. We have been on Stray Hunts before. Yet, this was different. We were all on edge. And yet, Jonas. He just went there and he wasn't bothered."
Rias sighed.
"Indeed but Issei. You can't compare him with you. We all have some experience. Kerevechko is just different. You yourself. You need to train. After all, you're my adorable servant, right?"
"Hai, Buchou."
"And because you did such a good job. How about we sleep together?" Before he could answer, Rias pulled the [Pawn] on the bed, and he was pressed in his tits.
Caressing his hair, she smiled.
"Don't worry, Issei. I know this for sure. You're going to be stronger than him."
Issei goofily smiled and nodded. He was sure to enjoy these tits.
The next morning
Jonas woke up after just a few hours. His biological clock ticked like a maniac. He was sure he got about four or five hours of sleep. Not enough but he couldn't ask for more. Wriggling himself loose from the embrace, he went downstairs.
In his heart, he was not going to wake Raynare up.
The Human was surprised to see twin tails in blond to be downstairs.
Mittelt turned to him. "Oh, good morning, Jonas."
Where did she find a gown to sleep in?
That was a question his brain gave him.
"Morning, Mittelt. Did you sleep well?" He asked to distract his brain.
"I was fine. Raynare waited here for you, didn't she?"
Jonas nodded and went to get some breakfast. There were no eggs so he had to eat outside.
"Yep. Don't know why she did that but I am happy she did. Sleep was good. Two good nights of sleep in one row. Gotta break my record."
Blue eyes went open as she looked at the way he said that. When he stood back up, it was for the first she saw how big this guy was.
"You should treat her well, you know. She didn't shut up when Raynare found out about you. So you should know. She is a keeper."
Grinning, Jonas took out a glass and drank the water he had poured in.
"I know. You think I forgot about her. Not going to happen."
The water in his system gave him some needed fluids.
"So what now? I mean. You saved us and we're disowned so we got no place to go."
"For now, I think you're best off by sticking with me. I'm not going to stop if you want to leave but you gotta tell me if there is some other place to live right now?"
Mittelt shook her head. "Not really. You made a deal with those Devils and they keep us safe. Why did you do that? I mean. For Raynare, I get it. But you don't know us."
Jonas turned to her and looked to the stairs. You could barely see them from the kitchen.
"Cause that's just who I am. It's a small effort for me and it makes a difference to you. Anyway, I'm off to school. Please stay here. I'll pick you all up when we're rested. For what is left of this week, we'll spend it at my sis' place but for now. You gotta admit that if we're gonna life here, it needs more than what it has so far."
The Lolita girl wanted to protest but she had to agree with him.
"Safest place to be, right now?" There was something cheeky in her voice and there was not much he minded about that.
"Yep. I'll see you later." He answered back and the girl just sighed. She wasn't sure why but this guy. Even for a human, he was something. And they could be worse off.
But she needed sleep more so she made her way to her bed.
Jonas raced to his sister's place and changed into a clean uniform. That was the thing he needed right now. When he got his bag, he went back to school.
How they managed to be so active on school days was beyond him.
Sona was again on the gates, inspecting others and when she saw Jonas, she nodded. Jonas just gave a nod back.
He walked in, ignoring the whole gossip. They thought it was bad now. Jonas couldn't wait until the Fallen Angels would get in here. He was pretty sure that the school would see a shock then.
For him, the day passed by quickly. He was just not bothered to keep track. Things were going in his head.
Luckily, he had relief as the last two hours were English. He had a test out so he wasn't going to wait for that one.
Slipping to Akeno, the number two of the school looked at him.
"Yes."
"I'm going home. Got some stuff to take care off. Tell Buchou, I'll see her tomorrow." The class erupted in shock.
"Very well but I think you should pass the Student Council President for that." Giving his newly appointed club member a nod, Jonas made his way out to the Student Council. Knocking two times, the door opened.
"Hello, Jonas." There were just Sona and Tsubaki around.
"Hey, Kaichou. I'm here to tell you I am cutting early. Got some stuff to take care off." Sona snapped her fingers and with that, the place was sealed.
"Has it to do with the new pupils at our school?"
A most redundant question but Jonas couldn't help but answer.
"Yes. We crashed at my base because that was closer by. I'm going to fetch them and bring them home. Why?" Sona motioned him to come closer. On her desk, there were quite some papers gathered.
"Those are club filling orders. You'll need those for you and those Fallen Angels. I also want to make sure the uniforms are at home. And I have also assigned the blue-haired on to be your homeroom teacher. If I am correct, there is no one there for that role." Her note turned harsh when she glared at Jonas.
"You're correct." In reality, it was because Jonas had nearly killed the last guy. Jonas was sure that the guy was not qualified.
There were not just perverts among the students.
"I hope this one will stay for a longer period. As for the other ones, the black-haired one, Yuuma. I have assigned her to the class of Hyoudou and Argento."
Jonas paused on that. Sure, keeping him and Raynare and Kalawarner in one room wasn't a good idea but putting them in the class of Issei. He wasn't sure if that was smart.
"Do you think that is a good idea? I mean. I hate to be the obvious one but Raynare killed one and is partly responsible for the death of the other." Sona's eyes turned softer and she had to agree.
"Yes but I want to keep them monitored. And because it is Rias' decision. Therefore, I see it as brought up normal. The same goes for the younger one. I brought her over to Toujou's class. I got the uniform for her here. Raynare got hers from her other school. They'll enroll tomorrow but the teacher will be for next week. I will also escort you to your house."
Jonas felt the rumor mill kicking up a notch. "Okay. You do know what that will cause. And they're not around."
"That is not a problem. Shall we go?"
If he was going to suffer, so would she. Offering his arm, Sona had the slightest blush.
"Very well. Milady?" Taking the arm, they walked out. Jonas wasn't sparing her in this. When they walked out, the soldier made the note to make a talk to Saji about this.
The walk was spent in comfortable silence as neither had a word to say that could bring them in a bad spot.
Once, they arrived, Sona inspected the house. "I do hope that you don't store weapons here."
Jonas made a chuckle on that remark. "I kept the MP5 here from the time in the Church and I keep my M1911 around all the time. But that's the reason why I move to the base." Sona looked around. The place was clean enough.
"Fair enough. I'll leave the uniform here. I'll see you tomorrow. Please don't forget that tomorrow you have to visit the clubroom." Jonas made a nod and when she walked out, Jonas wasn't too far behind.
When she asked what he was going to do, he told her that he had to pick up the Fallen Angels from his base.
He wasn't sure that they had food and he could imagine they would be hungry. With his hands in his pockets, Jonas was sure of one thing.
He'd protect those around him and life just really got interesting.
And with that, I'm done with this chapter. Still, not all fully established but so far, I'm good with how things are. It took me damn long enough and I'm sorry that I took so long.
Next chapter is going get a few more bits that I can think out but that is for later.
I thank you all for your patience and for reading.
Saluut.
