This is going to be good.
The idea of making a story of a half breed Incubus is playing in my head but that is for later. Right now, I can barely manage.
Also, a ton of good ideas I had for this fic had to go out the window.
I was glad I made this chapter sometime before because I had my job today and I knew that I had to update it now.
Also for the ones who review, do mind that the PM notification on mails are down. Only way to check it by looking up on the site itself.
Oslight had drawn some very nice pics for me so check those out on his profile.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year.
For the reviewer guest on 19/08/2019
An excellent question. Jonas indeed won't have that much power compared to Issei in later parts of the story. It is only cause we didn't see big opponents yet. Most of his power comes from two things.
Tactical mindset.
Packing serious heat. A couple of guns can do some serious damage. To say the least he can do.
As for strength, that will play out later.
Thank you for the review.
For the guest reviewer, I forgot my acc.
I got some ideas. It'll be fun.
Jonas was pretty damn sure that the school had reached a point where the gossips were really more important than the actual studies.
Because when he walked in with two girls, one of them clearly well acquittanced to him, he was sure this was going to get worse.
It should be pointed out that Jonas was not acting immorally. He and Raynare were just in the middle of a light conversation while Mittelt walked along with them.
The school was clearly shocked to see how Jonas could be doing that and talking to those girls. When they reached the gates, Sona looked it all over. Jonas wondering if she had nothing better to do but inspect.
Even so, when she saw the soldier, Sona walked over to them. "Good morning, Kerevechko." For whatever reason, Sona had a spring in her step. Something that Jonas overlooked but what Raynare noticed.
She had her Yuuma outfit.
For making things easier, Mittelt had adopted the last name.
"Morning, Kaichou." The guy turned to the two Fallen Angels in human disguise.
"Come on." Gesturing they should be polite to each other.
"Good morning, Kaichou. Please take care of us." 'Yuuma' bowed and so did Mittelt.
"Amano-san. Welcome to Kuoh academy. I both expect you to uphold the great standards of our school. If there's something, come talk to me but I'll think they'll either come to you, Kerevechko. He'll escort you to your classes."
With that, Jonas did so as he was told but before he could go, Sona's hand was wrapped around his wrist.
"I hope you know what you're doing." She whispered in his ear. Jonas nodded on that.
"That makes two of us," Jonas admitted and he walked to the two. When he opened the door of the first-year classroom, both the Fallen Angel as the white-haired Devil glared at each other. Jonas rolled his eyes but made sure that Koneko got his glare.
When the two rolled at the door in the second year, Jonas wasn't showing mercy. Leaving Raynare there, he walked away. He had his own class to go to.
The Fallen Angel was left there until the school hours would begin before she was introduced to her class. As her misfortune would have it, she was in the class with both Issei and Asia. The people that she killed last week.
Jonas ended at his classroom and he opened the door, slid in and found that Akeno glared at him. It was even worse than yesterday.
But he couldn't care less about that. Meanwhile, he just sat down in his seat.
Orchestral from metal. Could something sweeter exist?
At Raynare or Yuuma, she was pretty much dying of the nerves. Jonas had run the laydown for them and the other two.
While she didn't really look forward to it, part of her got why Jonas was hoping they went along in this.
The girl was introduced as Yuuma
"Hello, everyone. My name is Yuuma Amano. I hope that we can be friends."
Both Issei as Asia found it weird how well Raynare went into the class.
With her teasing nature and a bit of innocent demure, Issei could understand why she was a hit in the class. Same as with Asia but for different reasons.
They locked eyes and while it was sure that they wouldn't forget, they were all in a mess that they got out.
So holding onto grudges wasn't a good idea.
The guys (and some girls) went wild for the newest member of the class.
Then came the question if she had a boyfriend.
A wistful smile got over her face. The declaration she was fancying a guy caused some idiot to declare he was going to find out who that guy was and kick his ass.
Issei was sure that Motemitsu was an even bigger idiot than he was. Raynare's cool smile and telling him that he wanted to fight Jonas Kerevechko caused him to double down. Especially when she came to visit the guy in his classroom during a break.
Jonas had his plugs and read over the book his dad had given him.
When a tap came on his shoulders, he turned to see Raynare standing. "Hey."
A soft voice as she smiled at him. Jonas nodded and took his plugs out.
"Hey. You do know this is a third years classroom." Dropping herself on the table, she could only grin at the reactions of the girls around them.
"Looks like you got quite a reputation here. Yet, I wonder what you did to get that sort of rep." Akeno had half a mind of going after the girl on Jonas's desk but knew better than to do it.
Sure, the Fallen Angel was one thing but Jonas was another cookie.
"Nothing too bad. Just being this school's security system and keeping things on a lower level." With his head turned around, he pressed her closer.
"Shitori and Gremory have been running this school for years. The one thing that happened is that I'm the other powerhouse here. Being the toughest guy at school had its advantages." With that, he let Raynare go and she could only blush.
Jonas was something else indeed. As she walked back to her classroom, she had learned a bit around him.
The talks also went to her and Mittelt as they had been in this school. So far, there weren't many who talked with Jonas.
Which suited him just fine. She knew that of course.
Sona and Tsubaki had the guts to talk with Jonas. From what she got, Sitri was as stiff as a board and a serious personality to boot. Everyone in school respected her and was afraid of her to some degree.
Yet, around Jonas, it was different. Jonas could crack a joke around her and do her bidding. He didn't kiss the floor she stood on. The soldier stood his ground and often relegated to her about the doings. That was something they found out soon enough as Jonas packed his bags as the three were summoned to the ORC room.
It was in the old school building. Jonas never had been in there but the three just went along as they found Rias and Akeno sipping on their tea.
"I suppose you wanted to see me, Buchou,"
Rias put the tea down and looked at Jonas. "I still don't get why you didn't choose the Student Council. You and Sona have more of a relationship than you and I do."
She wasn't alone in that matter.
The other Devils had already been gathered around their president while Jonas could only shrug. Next to him, the Fallen Angels tensed behind him.
Like he was their rock in this matter.
"Cause I don't want to do paperwork. ve Told you before." Jonas admitted and Rias found herself blinking.
"That's all?"
"That's not all," Jonas admitted. He walked over to Issei and lifted the arm where Ddraig was. "I'm also here cause of this little thing." Issei wanted to rip away from Jonas but when he felt the grip tightening around his wrist, the younger guy relented.
"Hyoudou, like it or not but you got the equivalent of a nuke latched in your arm." Jonas let go and Rias looked at him. "You seem to know?"
With a nod, the mercenary grinned at them. "Yep. And Issei, I hate to say this but you got no control over Ddraig. The single reason you survived in that Church was a stroke of big fat luck and the fact you got others watching your back. You need to learn to control this thing."
Issei hated to admit it but Jonas was right. The guy was just a year older yet he seemed to have tons more of experience in this field.
Rias also had an idea that Jonas had a better mind of teaching her [Pawn]
"So what do you think I have to do?" Jonas sighed.
"You need to learn how to fight. How to use your Power. How to control it. Master it. I don't expect you to learn from day One and become one great master. But staying this course will only result in destruction and pain. So you are going to fight with me every day after school unless said otherwise." With that, the group looked at the guy.
"Because the sooner you got your [Sacred Gear] under the control, the easier things will be. Believe me. Girls like a guy who can handle themselves in a fight." That was enough motivation. Luckily none of the peerage members had somewhere to go. So they could watch the fight. The Fallen Angels joined them as the group watched the two facing each other in the forest behind the clubroom.
"Say, Raynare." The Fallen Angel turned towards her new Club President. "Yes?"
"You really think Jonas can win?" The raven-haired girl nodded. "Yep. That guy is one tough guy to fight. I hate to say this but Asia?"
The blond turned to her former captor. "You need to be here from today. Because Jonas will seriously hurt Hyoudou." True enough, it began.
Issei activated his Sacred Gear while Jonas stood before him.
"Come whenever you are ready," Jonas said with his arms crossed. The Devils looked in several ranged emotions. Koneko with a dull face, Akeno a bit mischievous, Rias wanted to share the worry with Asia. Kiba was looking with interest to the two. Raynare was more wondering how bad it would go for Issei while Mittelt looked with some sort of eagerness.
Issei activated his gauntlet while Jonas stood there waiting.
"So how do you think this will go?" Rias asked while Raynare turned to her. "I hope for your [Pawn], Jonas will hold back."
The heiress looked at the Angel and raised an eyebrow. "When I met Jonas, that was about ten years ago. We traveled for three weeks when Africa wanted to kill us. What he pulled off there was incredible. So yeah, I hope that he holds back."
"Not to forget, Buchou. He defeated all those guys in the Church. I don't think that neither I nor Koneko could do that." Kiba told his [King]. When the fight began, Issei ran at Jonas in a straight line. The mercenary waited for a bit until the boy got close enough. Standing back, Jonas evaded the attacks of Issei.
One day, Issei would be one great warrior and one of the strongest beings in the world. But that would take an awfully long time.
Jonas wasn't even trying to fight back. He didn't even take Issei serious. The attacks weren't focused on Jonas and frustration ran across the face of the Dragon.
When Jonas caught his fist, he pressed hard on the hand. Without any notice, Issei got pulled close. The right hand of Jonas aimed at his face and with one blow, Issei felt his head swimming.
Turning the other arm, a sickening crunch was heard and everyone present cringed when they realized that Jonas broke the arm of Issei without too much trouble. Grabbing the shirt of the pervert, Jonas gave three fast uppercuts to the stomach.
When he was done, the roundhouse kick finished it as Issei landed at Asia's feet. It barely broke a sweat to get Issei down. Rias stormed at him as she saw that Asia would heal her servant.
"What do you think you're doing?" Her hair moved with the power of Destruction. With a bored face, Jonas walked to her.
"You really think I'm going to take it easy on him? Make it a good experience. No. The sooner he learns how to fight, the sooner he doesn't get hurt." Akeno wasn't sure but she had to defuse her friend.
"Rias. Calm down. There is merit in his words as much I hate to admit it."
Raynare restrained her on the other arm. "Believe me. If Jonas wanted to kill your [Pawn], he would already be dead. I know that."
The two raven-haired beauties hoped she would listen. For different reasons, sure but that she would calm down.
Jonas crossed his arms.
"Let me tell you something. You might not realize it fully but your servant has one of the strongest [Sacred Gears] in his body. His life is set to fight. I come from a world where violence is common and anarchy is law. I have learned tough lessons and that's the singular reason why I breathe air." Issei got his eyes open and looked at Jonas with a glare.
"Like it or not, Hyoudou but there are beings out there that would rip your throat open without a second glance. So believe me. You are going to be close to dying but that is just how things are." He glanced at Asia.
"How many times can you heal him?" The [Bishop] fidgeted with the glance at him.
"As many times as it will take." That girl might be one of the sweetest little things on the planet, Jonas admitted but damn. She had nerves of steel.
Asia looked with as much as glare to Jonas and that man hadn't seen it often. It might be because Asia knew that he wouldn't hurt her but that didn't make Jonas not scary.
So with a sigh, Jonas nodded to her. "Get your ass back up. If she can face me, it would be a disservice you couldn't."
Issei set himself back up and Jonas took his place again. The older guy waited for a bit until Issei ran again to him. Without too much notice, Jonas took over the gauntlet and with a pressure that the Dragon felt, Jonas, brought him to kneel.
"It seems you don't learn. Hyoudou. If you fail to fight a human, you should give up. So listen to me. The first rule there are just two. One. You don't' have rules. Second. The only ones to trust in a fight are those watching your back. So far, they can't help you. You need to learn how to fight with Ddraig. What is the thing your [Boosted Gear] does?" Jonas let go of Issei and knelt to him.
"It doubles the power I have every ten seconds," Issei admitted. Taking both the shoulders, Jonas looked him in the eyes. There was one time for beating the shit out of someone and a time for giving lessons.
"If you know that, then why rush in headlong without boosting up? Why not wait and make sure that you have power enough in your body?" With a pause, Jonas stood up.
"I am not the one who starts the fight. I said. Come when you're ready. You could have gone for Boosts yet you start the fight. You're not going to win." Issei stood up.
"If that is true, why don't you have to prepare?" Jonas smirked.
"I got a decade and half of soldier experience in wars. I have things Issei you'll never have. One day, I'll need to bring out my best. Now, I can do without even taking out a Knife. Get up." With that, Jonas took his place.
The Gauntlet shouted when the energy seeped in. [Boost!] It shouted.
Jonas was still standing there with his arms crossed but he counted the seconds in his mind. 'Eight, nine, ten.' [Boost!]. A second time. The arms fell down still neither moved.
[Boost!]
A third time the power came out. Neither moved and Raynare began to look up. With a third time, Jonas took out his combat knife.
The pragmatic soul in him spoke that he should take this seriously. With that, Issei ran to him. Jonas stood ready for the attack. The Gauntlet met the steel. When that was broken off, Issei's right fist was blocked by Jonas' left hand.
A lunge by the knife got blocked by the Boosted Gear. For a fourth time, the words [Boost!] were shouted. Jonas had to say that Issei had some bits learned. The guy was stupid but not too bad.
With that, Jonas wasn't sure what he was planning but Issei tried to move his left arm to punch him. Not letting that happen, Jonas blocked the arm.
By putting the knife where the protection ended. Without too much, Jonas took the head off Issei and rammed at his knee, breaking the nose in the process.
The boy came on his knees, clutching the wounded stub. Moans of pain were sure to come out yet Jonas didn't care.
Taking out the knife, more blood was shed.
"So what have we learned now?" Jonas asked as he stood before Issei.
"You're an asshole." The group looked at Jonas who shrugged. Asia immediately began to heal the boy.
"I asked what you learned, what we already know. Or because you don't, I will tell you. You attacked me when you got three of your Boosts. That is fun but that is not enough to take me out. Meaning that I beat you in CQB. You need to learn that rushing in blindly is one great way to get you killed." Jonas told Issei and with the knife with the blood cooling in the air, Issei gulped.
"There are beings that you want you dead. I'm going to repeat these words. You need to learn how to fight. And I'm going to teach you."
With that, he walked to Rias. "I know you want to swear me out because I have taken this role. But who of the two has more experience in fighting?"
The heiress glared at him. "You can go easy on him."
"Sure I can. And you end with a dead servant. That's just how it works. Sides that, I think I was the one who figured out how to defeat that Stray. I'm not as strong as you or Sona but I got tactics and experience. That goes way longer than yours." Jonas told her and with that, he glanced over to Issei. Kid had gotten his ass handed to him, three times.
So it was clear this was far from over. And it was true enough as Issei trained if one could call it that.
Issei made one great discovery. He never felt as much pain as now while Jonas didn't break a sweat while he fought the boy.
"I think we can end for now." With that, he took his bag and walked over to Rias.
"So what do you think?"
"I think you're a violent idiot." Jonas scoffed on that. "Perhaps but I am alive. I would like to keep that way. Second is that he needs to fight. Don't you agree?"
Rias composed herself. "Very well. But I think we can spice it up." With a raised eyebrow, Jonas gran at her.
"Keep talking."
"Tomorrow, you'll fight one of my peerage members besides Issei as he is recharging. How does that sound?" Rias answered.
"Agreed if you give me the choice of who I will fight." Turning to see her peerage, his eyes settled on the other male.
"Ready to get yourself in a fight, Kiba?" The boy made a polite smile. "Sure. I can use the practice." With that, Jonas looked at Asia. "This is also training for you. Cause it will hurt. Cya." With that, Jonas left the place.
"Talk to you guys when you need me." With that, he left with Raynare and Mittelt who bowed and followed him home.
On the base, Kalawarner waited and she was getting worried about them. Jonas had moved them back there as it was safer to stay there. When the door slid open, the beauty slipped off her chair.
"You guys are late." Jonas nodded. "Sorry, we had some situation to take care of. I'm Issei's trainer now."
"You should have seen it, Kala. That guy handed that pervert's ass to him on a plater. Raynare wasn't lying." Raynare smirked on that.
With a nose, Jonas grinned. "Curry?"
"I hope you're hungry," Kalawarner said and Jonas could do with a good meal. Also, he wouldn't lie and say that the food the blue-haired made was the best he didn't have to pay for. Setting the plates, Kalawarner smiled as Jonas showed an interest in her cooking.
Before long, the four could go on the table and start eating. There was a comfortable silence settled in as there wasn't a lot that one had to say.
They just sat down in silence, enjoying the day to be over. Later, Mittelt cleaned up. Both of the girls dreaded for homework but found it easy due to their age. Not that Jonas would make a joke but they were all pretty much a few hundred years older than him.
Didn't take long before that Raynare and Mittelt went to a soft bed after they were done. Jonas stayed behind with Kalawarner to do the dishes.
"So Jonas-sama, what happens now?" Sharing a look with her, Jonas gave a grin. "Please, Kala. You can call me what you want. That Jonas-sama doesn't fit with me."
"If I can call you how I want, Jonas-sama will be fitting." The soldier groaned but stopped. Arguing with a woman was a waste of one's energy.
"If you insist, Kala-chan. Either way, you guys are now under my protection. Same goes for everyone I consider worth a damn. But for now, Ray and Mittelt are in the class. You, on the other hand, will be assigned my homeroom teacher, starting next week."
Kalawarner looked at him in surprise. Not that she minded the whole thing and it was on time Jonas told her that she would be teaching. Not that it'd be that hard given the age that she had.
"That can go for me. One question I have, Jonas-sama. You don't have a homeroom teacher now?" Jonas whistled a tune that made Kalawarner think he had been listening to some trailer.
"London Bridge?" She asked. "Try to give me the full version with the sick guitar riff. But that aside, you're up for it?" Kalawarner nodded and with that, Jonas shot her a grin.
"Okay. But besides that, I think I am going to have someone around my home." That was something Kalawarner had to agree to but figured something out.
"I don't have appropriate clothes for teaching." Jonas looked over her maroon jacket and had to agree. This was great for distracting. Especially with the chest that was spilling out.
"We can arrange that. I also need some extra clothes so we can go shopping on Friday after school."
Kalawarner smiled when he offered and so far, she had to agree that their living quarters had greatly improved. With Jonas around and the prospect of having a normal life, she could get used to this. Not that they had a bigger choice.
It could have been worse, that was something she could agree on. So before long, Jonas made her a steaming hot cup of tea and sat down. He liked to clear his head before going to sleep.
"Thank you for letting us stay," Kalawarner said as she sat down with him, taking the opposite couch.
"Hey, it's no big deal. Place is too big to live alone. But a guy gotta be able to protect his house. And the ones who live in it." Kalawarner's face heated up as Raynare told her that Jonas could be pretty blunt.
"I see. Thanks for that." With a yawn, Jonas found it was time they went to bed. He wasn't surprised to see that Raynare had made herself comfortable in his bed. Stripping out his school uniform and into a short pajama, Jonas laid down.
"You're here," a soft voice said and Jonas smiled at her. "Sorry, didn't want to wake you."
The girl shook her head. "Hey, no worries about it. I need you in this cause otherwise, I won't sleep too good."
"That makes two of us. Good night, Ray." And with, Jonas shut his eyes while Raynare could feel his arms circling around her waist and pressing her closer to his body. She fell asleep and while it was not uncomfortable, she found it funny how protective he had become. Not that she complained.
The next day started out like the one before.
The four woke up and Jonas found it a nice surprise to see that Kalawarner was in the shower. In his sleep clouded brain, he sighed and closed the door. He had seen her body and the nude glory of the Fallen Angel was now ingrained in his brain.
Nice for him.
He treated the matter as not that important and Kalawarner didn't go after him. The two others just wondered what happened between them. After that, Kalawarner stayed at home while the three went for classes. Jonas dropped them off at their class and went to his own.
When he had English in the third and fourth, he went to the roof for a nap. From his place, he could see in the classroom and Jonas could see that Raynare or Yuuma in this was teaching both Issei and Asia on a couple of harder subjects.
"Weird, I suppose?" Turning his head to see Rias standing there, he found it weird that the most popular girl at school was skipping classes.
"What you mean?" He asked the beautiful girl and it was pretty weird for him to actually talk to Rias like that but even so, there was no reason for him to treat it weird. He could deal with stress and despite her appearance and beauty, Rias was like him another sentient being.
She was his club president now and that was one thing.
"The fact that Yuuma is the one who killed both Issei and Asia yet, here she is. Helping them out in a class." The mercenary shrugged on that and turned with his back to the railing.
"I think that is why you guys aren't that different from us. Humanity has managed to normalize the most extreme conditions. Life will go on despite all things. People in Stalingrad, Verdun, Passchendaele, hell, even in Africa. We found a way to normalize. You guys aren't that different from us."
Rias crossed her arms under her sizeable chest and Jonas rolled his eyes as she was hoping her sex appeal would make him sweat.
"Really?"
"You guys aren't that different from me. You're not like the things described in texts. I've been to school with you and Sona for three years. We're not so different. If you look at it."
Rias could see how Raynare spoke up at Issei's behalf in the class. She had to agree that her [Pawn] wasn't the most glorious individual. Yet, with all that happened, he didn't blame Raynare for what she did.
"You mean this whole thing? The fact that you asked us to spare those Fallen Angels?" Jonas grunted and his tone betrayed annoyance.
"We're not going down there, okay. Look, neither Hyoudou nor Argento have any particular reason to like Ray or her friends. I think they realize it's more painful to keep a grudge than letting it go. I don't ask you to do the same but just know that hating them for the sake of hating them isn't going to be a good course. We'll just see how things work out."
Rias hated to admit it but the Human made a point. It was energy wasted on it.
"I still don't see why you think you should train Issei." Jonas sighed.
"Look, you see what I did to him. I think you need to bump it up. You're his [King] after all. Second is this. Your servant is the Sekiryuutei." Jonas halted and Rias couldn't help but be chilled by the grin on his face.
"That guy is going to be one important factor. We need to get him as trained as possible." And with that, Rias could agree.
With that, Jonas walked back to his classroom. Kalawarner had packed lunch and Jonas was asking Raynare about the things he learned of polygamy from the magical races.
He was getting addicted to her food.
After school was over, he made his way to the clubroom. The entire Peerage was gathered there and Jonas was sure that he could see Kiba was ready to fight him.
"So we can do this again?" Jonas asked and Issei stood up. "I am going to beat you." The older guy shook his head. "Good luck with that but eh, Kiba. You and I aren't going to play with real swords." The [Knight] raised an eyebrow.
Jonas was sure that Raynare had joined Rias and whispered some things in her ear. The red-haired Devil looked incredulously but believed the Fallen Angel for what she said.
"Yuuto, that might be for the best. I don't want you to kill each other. I suppose that using bokkens would suffice?" Rias tone left no room for argument and the pretty boy agreed while Jonas sighed of relief.
"For today, it is going to be like this. I'll fight Hyoudou first, when he is out, you'll join in. Don't wait for a signal, just begin. Asia-chan." The [Bishop] looked at the guy who helped Issei so much.
"You need to be sure to have both healed which means that you won't have it easy either. If you say you can't continue, we'll stop. Because I hate to say this but you won't have a chance to bore yourself. That is if you all know how to patch wounds." Jonas looked over them and he was sure that Akeno and Rias were affronted by the suggestion that they didn't know how to heal with their power.
"We can use our powers for that." Jonas found it was a better idea not to piss Rias or Akeno intentionally.
"Just making sure. In that case, you all have something to do."
"Sorry, but I have a client for tonight so I won't be home. Have fun throwing the pervert in the ground." The dull voice of Koneko Toujou spoke and Jonas smirked at her.
"Noted. Anyone else." Rias polite cough made the room to turn to her.
"I have a request. Kerevechko, you might not realize it but as new start Devils, both Asia as Issei have flier duty. With you requesting their time here, they won't be able to hand out those fliers which are important of reaching new clients." Jonas had always wondered why they did this but let it slide.
"I would request that the Fallen Angels, who are under your protection, carry this out," Rias asked and before her words left her mouth, Raynare flew at her.
"What? Why do I have to do that?" The smile at Rias made the girl sink back.
"It is because of your Master as that is Jonas now, my [Pawn] and my [Bishop] are not able to carry out their usual duties. Therefore, I see it as only natural that your master would find a solution for this. Or that he would agree with the proposition I make." Rias worded in a way that made Jonas sure that their race was built around enticing.
"Ray, Mittelt. I know it is a pain but do what she asks." The girls turned to him in a betrayed fashion.
"Jonas, you can't be serious?"
"Why do I have to do that?"
The human crossed his arms and it was maybe for the first any saw him raise his voice. "Listen. We are guests in her house. You'll do what she asks of you. Is that understood? And if you don't obey her orders, you'll obey mine. Carry out the fliers. End of discussion."
Issei hadn't seen Jonas speak like that and Rias found it flattering that he agreed with her instead of defending his Fallen Angels. The guy knew that he wasn't going to break the fragile peace so his eyes made it clear. The girls took the bag of fliers and left.
The remainders went outside and Jonas stood ready for Issei. Like yesterday, he was waiting until the boy attacked.
To make matters easier for him, Jonas had a wooden boken on his back for when Yuuto would join the fight. Yet, Jonas was sure that Issei wasn't the only one who could use some help in a fight.
The boy was just the one in the direst need to learn how to survive.
The Boosted Gear appeared and the first [Boost] was heard. Jonas didn't bother attacking and waited for Issei. The boy waited till a second time, [Boost]. Still, neither budged.
The audience waited in silence until one would move. The third [Boost] came and Jonas got his arms out. Issei wasn't moving until the fourth [Boost] was heard and Issei moved to Jonas. Holding his left hand back, Jonas blocked the right fist but Issei hoped for that as the left moved in for an uppercut.
[Explosion.] Jonas heard that and the energy flew out of the gauntlet. Issei looked up to see Jonas grin. That had to be scary.
"Diversion. Nice tactic but." Taking the arm, Jonas floored him by making a circle. The action was fast enough but Jonas held on to Issei's arm. Like yesterday, a crunch was heard and bones were broken. Jonas smiled as it was clear Issei had a ton to learn. The boy tried to retaliate but found himself unable to do so as Jonas held the boy down.
"You gotta learn different things. Your explosion was strong, no doubt but if you are facing a foe who can take the heat, well, you see how that goes." Shoving him to Asia, Jonas looked to Kiba who hadn't moved.
"Didn't I say to attack me as soon I was done with Hyoudou?" The mercenary asked and the [Knight] shook his head.
"That would have been dishonorable." Jonas spit on the ground when he heard that.
"That sort of thinking gets you killed in a warzone. I suppose you haven't been in one." Jonas said as he waited till Kiba got closer. Taking out the wooden sword, Jonas still waited. "Draw your weapon."
"Don't you worry. I have it out when I need to have it out. So hurry up until I get you down with my bare hands." Kiba glared at him while Jonas waited. The [Knight] had learned how to fight in the family and wasn't going to betray his honor for anything.
His speed would make sure as he circled around Jonas. Too fast for the naked eye to follow, Jonas took the sword of his back and flung it on his shoulder.
Yuuto came to sight right before his eyes. The mercenary blocked it before the swipe was even done.
"Pro-tip. I don't need my eyes." A heavy fist was slammed in his guts and stars dazed before his sight. Where did that punch come from?
Pivoting the sword, Jonas slammed into Kiba who got down on his knees as he registered pain and no small amount of it.
Putting his own sword up, Jonas simply moved out the way before the boken connected with him. He was sure he was a little bit better at this and distanced himself from the [Knight]
"You need Asia to patch you up? Or can you still fight?" Yuuto nodded and he raced at Jonas who this time had to block the weapon.
Kiba wasn't sure what was real. Jonas was a human yet he found it no struggle to keep up with the attack. Breaking it off, different angels were used yet Jonas could block them. The strength Jonas had made Yuuto and all around him doubt the fact that Jonas was human.
No human should be able to keep up with a Devil. Or not with that ease. Yet unlike with Issei where Jonas fought to make him stronger, this time, Jonas just hung back. He waited till Kiba got closer and despite the first ounce of violence, he didn't attack.
Then a hint of red came into sight and Jonas didn't block by the sword but took up the arms so the [Knight] was hung up by him.
Glaring to the underbelly, Jonas's tone was harsh. "You said you could fight? If I look to your stomach, I hate to disagree." The boy looked to see that red had spread under the shirt.
"Idiot. You're bleeding." Without waiting, Jonas put him down and told Kiba an order that was unorthodox.
"Take off."
"What?" The rest, save for Issei, got red around the face.
"Take off your shirt. From what I see, you got one nasty wound. And." He looked to see Asia was healing Issei.
"Asia-chan can heal when she is done. But I need to see the damage to know if she has to halt on Hyoudou or I can take care of it. So either take off your shirt or I'll rip from your body."
Yuuto had heard that tone before and it was clear that Jonas wasn't going to take any crap.
And Rias was sure that either she or Akeno could take care of the wounds. When the shirt was gone, Jonas could see that the punch he gave had to lead to some bleeding.
"Yeah, great. This wound went internal and that is going to be painful. So yeah. Can one of you get after him?"
Akeno volunteered and began to heal the boy. Jonas crossed his arms. "You know. You could have said that you were hurt. It would save me the trouble." Kiba looked back at him.
"I have been using swords for a while. I know how to fight."
"You know how to duel. Major difference. Any kid with a sword and some fancy name can duel. Throw them in a war zone and you get corpses. I don't need to teach you how to fight. I need to teach you how to survive." Jonas answered and the [Knight] glared at Jonas.
"How so?"
"To survive, it means you got to do stuff that your honor wouldn't agree with. If you do, you live through. If you don't, well, that's a waste." The Human looked to Issei who stood up and it looks like he was ready to fight again.
The entire evening, training continued and both boys had found themselves on the losing end.
For Issei, that was kinda expected as he was just starting this Devil thing and in the Church, it had become clear how much a difference there was between the two.
For Yuuto, this was humiliating. His extreme speed and swordsmanship were his strong point yet for Jonas, he could just fight back.
The thing that both boys began to understand was that the experience Jonas had was way above the two of them. Even so, Jonas looked a bit more winded after the experience.
Rias had to bite her tongue to prevent herself from shouting. She had been thinking she was leaps and bound ahead of Jonas due to him being human and she was a Devil (from an outstanding bloodline) yet he had proven himself to be way more trained than she was.
That didn't help her mood. When Akeno and Asia were busy healing them, Jonas walked over to her.
"They get off tomorrow. I suppose that's only fair." Rias eyebrow twitched when he told her that.
"So you intend to leave the brunt of the training to me for now?" Her tone was pleasant and if they could, the group would have moved away from Ground Zero.
"Yep. Issei can't keep up and his strength isn't that great. So that is your call for now. Besides that, we'll see how things go later." And with that Jonas left.
"Are you sure this is how we are going to do it, Rias?" Turning to her [Queen], the Gremory heiress sighed.
"Like it or not, Akeno. But can you tell me that any of us can beat Jonas when he is like this?" The girl thought about it for a bit.
Sure, they could beat him when it came to just raw power. But even so, the guy had proven to have a working brain for him and he was good with his tools. So a shake of the head was the following answer.
"There is still one other thing that bothers me."
"The fact that he knows about Issei-kun's [Sacred Gear] and that he has the idea that he sees the training as his responsibility." Akeno's voice had an edge and Rias nodded.
"For now, we don't have much of an option. You see how we defeated that Stray last week. Without him, it might have gotten really ugly."
And that's was the end of it.
Jonas had been waiting until Raynare and Mittelt showed up. Both girls didn't look too happy. Flier duty was seriously boring and they had been pretty much forced by him.
"Tell me again why we had to do this." The shorter of the two asked annoyed and a with a huff. Raynare couldn't help but glare at the Human.
"Like it or not but we don't have much of an option. Gremory and Sona run the place and well, I like to get Hyoudou up and running. So we don't have much of an option there. Don't worry, tomorrow, we don't have training. Rias will look at Issei and we don't have much else to do."
They walked back to their place in silence. Raynare and Mittelt did tell about the persons that they gave fliers to.
On Issei's house, he had been feeling sore muscles from the two days that Jonas had been kicking his ass. While he had an idea this was going to happen, Jonas didn't give him humiliation and even with that, he could still feel pain.
This bath was just what he needed to get back at it. After he had been soaked enough, he got in his pajamas and went to his bed. When he got a knock, the soft voice of Asia was heard.
"Are you okay, Issei-san?" Turning to the door, he looked at her. "I'm fine. Just feeling a bit hurt." The girl walked in. She was wearing a pink nightgown. Despite it all, Asia was more cute than sexy. That was something good at this life as Devil.
"Do you want me to heal you further? Kerevechko really hurt you." The former Holy Maiden found it surprising that the guy shook his head.
"He didn't. He could have hurt me much worse than this. He just wants to train me. And I don't blame him." Yet, the warm glow of Twilight Healing washed over his body and Issei couldn't keep his eyes open. Sleep claimed him sooner than he would have guessed.
Jonas had been back at the base and he could get used to the food that Kalawarner had prepared. She had tried a new dish, namely yakisoba. Not that one of them complained. After dinner, they began their homework and that was how it went.
Days settled in for the rest of the week. During the morning, they would dress, eat, go to school and after school, go to the clubroom. Issei had contracts running so he carried those out. Meanwhile, Jonas didn't have much another purpose than training so he had been closed to the president. Rias smirked at him and gave him a chessboard. The mercenary could figure out what she wanted and placed it in front of him.
For both, it had been one surprise. Rias won sure but she found Jonas tactics to be something. Jonas didn't like the rules but Rias had found it hard to see how callous he could act with the pieces. They didn't have a clock set and that was for the best. Besides that, Issei got back from his assignment.
"Welcome back, Issei. Did you sign the contract?" It wasn't that he was ignoring the bombshell but he looked to Jonas.
"Kerevechko-senpai. Do you have anything that can help me with PTSD?" The boy looked spooked and horrified. Jonas wondered what might have happened to ask him that.
"You got pills out for shellshock. Let's just say that nighttime is worse. Something to sleep with can help. But what exactly you got that you said you have PTSD? Some say you can get it from going on the Internet."
The boy shuddered. "Don't want to talk about it. Got a contract. Got the hell out. Pink. Horrifying." At that moment, Raynare walked in and as soon he saw his killer, he walked to her.
"To who did you give those fliers, you evil witch? Do you have any idea what you have done to me?" Issei veered at her and both Jonas as Rias were not exactly expecting that. Raynare could only look affronted until she began to think. At that, her look changed.
"Oh, wait. You got one from him?"
A cough turned the attention to Rias and Jonas. "Can someone tell me what exactly transpired? Issei. Why are you acting like that?"
Jonas pointed a thumb at her. "What she said." From his tone, he was losing patience and liked to hear what was going on.
Issei pointed at her desk and Rias took the flier that Issei responded to and Rias had an awkward chuckle of it.
"Yeah, sorry, Issei. I should have known." The Human, getting fed up with it, read the contract. Words were going out and Jonas wondered what happened to his life.
The request was pretty unusual. "I want to become." He paused.
"A magical fairy girl. What the?" Issei collapsed and Raynare comforted the boy by stroking his hair. "Believe me, Issei-kun. I know your pain. Mil-tan. We saw him. Shouldn't have done it."
When Jonas asked the description, he got this jewel.
"A guy with muscles everywhere and with a love for magical girls."
Rias had now the first time experience of throwing up in her mouth with that image. Not a very pleasant one.
The Fallen Angel turned to Rias and Jonas. Shaking her head, she made it clear that it was the end and that was all she would tell about Issei's encounter.
Rias had taken Issei to his home and she was sure he clung to her as she was the thing that kept him sane.
After that, things went like that. Issei was happy that he got training from Jonas as he wanted to get the image out his head and Jonas found it time to teach Issei some tricks. Using a boken, Issei could feel that the guy held back to teach him more instead of beating him in the ground.
Friday was easier and Jonas had requested time off from the clubroom. If Kalawarner was going to teach them next week, the maroon jacket wouldn't be great for teaching. Jonas was sure that every guy from the school was going after her.
So after school, he passed Sona who gave him the papers so that Kalawarner could teach his class.
They went to his base, dumped the school stuff and Jonas dreaded for shopping. Buying clothes with women was even for a super trained, highly skilled mercenary a horror.
The Fallen Angels went around the shopping center like human women.
They did ask his opinion. A cute shirt made Jonas appreciate Raynare, he found that Mittelt really liked gothic and Kalawarner had one good fashion sense. The clothing she chose as a turtle neck sweater for teaching did little to hide the fact she had one of the biggest chests the human had ever seen. Her skirt was luckily longer to hide the legs beneath them.
Jonas didn't escape the trying on of different clothes but after five times of having him dressed like a model, his patience ran out. When he got a great jeans and a shirt without sleeves, he decided it was enough.
Then came the other issue.
"We don't have money." Mittelt voiced and Jonas shook his head.
"I'll pay." He told them.
"Thank you."
"Just this. It's essential that you got something different. And if we need more, sure, we can go. But this is for essentials. If you want to buy clothes for the sake of shopping, I'm not doing it."
While he got disapproving glares from nearly every women in the store, the Fallen Angels understood. Especially since the four had bought clothes that were way over five hundred dollars. After that, he left and they could carry it themselves.
Jonas refused to go to a lingerie store and waited for an hour before they came out. He didn't want to know what they bought and he wasn't going in.
There was a chill down his spine when Raynare told him that there were things he'd be seeing and despite his control, Jonas could envision some clothing. He couldn't help it Kalawarner passed by. What he saw Tuesday morning would stay ingrained in his head forever.
After that, they had found a place to eat. It was a steakhouse and they all could use some more meat.
In that place, they just chatted until it was disrupted by a very unpleasant event. In the middle of chatting about school and other stuff, they heard the arrogant voice of a male.
"Hey there, pretty girl." A shaved head with bulging muscles and a smile that was crooked draped himself over Raynare. "Why don't you ditch this loser and come out with me and my buddies?"
They could see six more guys who all wolf-whistled to the sight.
Raynare took the hand of her shoulder. "I already got that covered. Thank you."
That wasn't clear enough as the guy tried again. "Come on. You gotta be kidding. Fine girls like you hanging out with a school kid like him? This boy is just a stupid welp. Let me show." The guy got cut off by that stupid welp who gripped his arm.
"Didn't it come through your skull? She said no." The guy grabbed Jonas and shoved him to his friends.
"Maybe when we kick your ass, they'll realize that you aren't worth their time." Jonas sighed.
"Very well."
Before any of the guys could react, the mercenary had grabbed the ringleader's face and rammed it down on the ground. The floor cracked as the guys all glared at Jonas who stood before them.
Counting six guys, this shouldn't be an issue. The bravest of the six swung at him. Jonas hooked the arm in his, throwing the taller man over his body, Jonas looked at him before he buried his foot in the face.
Those guys were trained in a gym and had their bravado from their injections. It didn't beat the real thing.
Jonas heard movement from behind him and found an arm around his neck. Before it could close, his right feet had hit a sore place.
Kneeling to grab the injured nuts, Jonas kneed the guy in the face. Then two guys raised their fits at him. They came from different angels so Jonas grabbed one guy and rolled him for the feet of the other, resulting in both landings on the floor.
Both their faces got acquittanced with Jonas's shoes. And with that, the walked to the last guy. Taking out a switchblade, Jonas was sure those guys were cowards. When the guy lunged for him, Jonas grabbed his wrist and went underneath the arm sideways. When he was there, the boy twisted the limb so the face of the assailant faced the ground. When he was sure he was there, Jonas hit him twice in the face to make the idiot gave up the weapon. Taking the knife, Jonas closed it and walked to the owner.
An older man and Jonas was sure he would get his ass chewed out. "Sorry for the mess old man. But I don't take kindly to threats." The guy waved it away.
"No worries boy. Those idiots are causing me financial damage by making this their home then your beatdown did and with it, they won't show up any time soon. I owe you a free dinner for this." Jonas nodded and that was the end of it.
He was sure that the guys got off cheap. If the girls did the damage, it would have been worse.
Saturday was spent in the base as the girls were busy to use their loot. It wasn't just clothes that they bought and Mittelt was happy that Jonas liked video games. Meanwhile, Kalawarner prepared herself for school. Jonas had shown how far they have gotten.
Around noon, Jonas went into the storehouse and pulled out six different guns. Placing them at his firing range, Jonas made sure they were safe and that the ammo laid further away. He did, however, train with them.
Nothing that hits you as much as an AKM. The M60 also worked well and the drum of bullets fell down. After that, Jonas wiped his eyes. He had been firing guns before. Why did it work well to get his blood down?
Sunday rolled by and in anticipation, the group waited for the Devils to show up.
Kalawarner stood behind in the kitchen while Mittelt hid behind the stairs that lead to the rooms. Raynare sat on the couches while Jonas leaned against the door. Changed into a shirt without sleeves, he wore cargo pants. His black cloth was out on his neck and it was there.
His dad always pulled his cloth up when he got serious. Little habit he had as well.
He had checked five times his automatic gun turrets were out.
.50 guns could tear through flesh and bones like that. Rambo Four didn't lie on that.
When he was going to call them because this waiting was killing him, two magical circles appeared in his house and the two Peerages had finally gathered.
They were all changed into daily clothes and Jonas wondered if the name shame was something as the clothes they picked out were pretty alluring to their natural assets.
Raynare rolled her eyes when she saw those girls.
For a guy like Issei, those clothes made have been persuasive but for Jonas, a guy who she had eating out her hand (and any other place soon), he couldn't be too bothered about it.
The annoyance Jonas had was tempered because now, he could show his favorite thing. Guns.
"We came when we found some time. And you call this a house?" Rias asked and Jonas glared at her.
"Yep. Now, before we go in my fire range. Ground rules. One. When I am firing, don't interrupt me. Two. No touching anything without my explicit permission. Three. No going to the storehouse without me. And if you want to fire one of my guns, just let me know." The Human said and Sona as Rias found themselves surprised with the seriousness Jonas used.
"Any reason why?" Sona asked and her guard dog smiled at her.
"You know. When you hear on tv or videos on the Internet, don't try this at home. They normally mean that. I grew up between them and I know how to handle those things. So anyone who wants to try?"
There were a few raised hands. Tomoe raised her hands and Jonas wasn't surprised. She seemed to know a bit about guns.
Tsubasa also raised her hand and that is okay with him.
Issei and Saji as well which wasn't a surprise for him. Sona was fidgeting about the whole thing. "If you want to fire one of them, you need to tell me Sona." The president shook her head.
"No, thank you I'll first watch you when you are firing your weapons. I do hope you know how to use them." The guy nodded and slid open the door.
When he walked in, for most of them, they saw the first time they saw a firing range.
And they saw six different guns laying down. "Now, all of you. Your back against the walls. Got it. I don't want anyone moving from it. And that includes you three."
The Fallen Angels joined the Devils and Jonas took up eyes and hand proctors. Those were what he really needed.
He picked up the first weapon. An unassuming black gun. A small one as well. "This one here is a Makarov. Developed in the USSR when that was still a thing, this semi-automatic handgun shoots 9 by 18 mm rounds. Below the NATO equivalent, this gun is still being used by several countries around the world. Cheap, abundant and reliable, this gun has been developed alongside the AK and it is used around the globe as a sidearm. So yeah. This is a gun I grew up with. But."
Jonas aimed at the board and fired several times. Eight times the shot came and eight times, Jonas hit his mark. Without to much a hassle, Jonas reloaded the gun. When a safe click was heard, Jonas pulled the trigger again.
"It is easier for cover and this thing is more cancelable than my 1911 but the power of this is lacking. The good thing about the lower ammunition is that if you can deliver deadly shots, this is one good weapon with a silencer." Jonas put his gun down.
"So any guess what this one is?" He took up a larger gun that was also black. The butt was longer and it had a longer magazine. Yet, the form of it was distinct. Jonas held it up to his shoulder.
"Am I correct in assuming that is an MP5 you're holding?" Jonas nodded to Tomoe and he aimed his gun. Short bursts of automatic fire came out. He switched from his targets. Small casings came out at his feed.
"Used by nearly every NATO country. Developed by Heckler & Koch, this submachine gun is great to use. Despite being fifty years old, this gun is not going to retire. Shooting 9 by 19 mm bullets, this gun has low recoil and with a high rate of fire, this bad boy tear through flesh easily." Jonas unloaded the magazine and grabbed a shotgun.
"This one is a Remington 870. This variant is called the Express Tactical. Pump action, this shotgun has the name of being best-sold shotgun around the globe. Like the MP5 and actually most guns used on the globe, it's been around for a good while with its design dating back to 1951."
Jonas smirked and threw the gun on his shoulders. The grin on his face instilled fear in their systems. Turning around to the range, Jonas aimed the shotgun. A loud bang was followed by a dry click and Jonas didn't waste time, shooting again. A pump-action shotgun was like a bolt action sniper rifle. It mandated a pause. Jonas enjoyed using them more because otherwise, his shoulders would start to hurt.
Jonas aimed again and the click of the shotgun was great. John was right.
There was nothing better than a pump-action shotgun. Damn, he missed the British Army Vet. A loon sure but the guy was a great army guy. If he was done with the Ravens, maybe he could come back to Japan.
When he was done, he put the gun down.
The wood felt familiar yet it was distinct. He had touched many of its brothers back in the day. The quality of this one was fine. It was one of the better ones he had used.
If he needed one, he'd pick this. Bought straight from Mother Russia.
Jonas slowly, nearly religiously put the but of the AK next to his shoulder. Charging the gun, Jonas felt the bullet go in the chamber and he aimed through the iron sights.
The sound of it was distinct and the Devils and Fallen Angels were spectators of one of man's finest and most gruesome inventions. Jonas didn't close his eyes as he felt the weapon in his hands.
He grew up between them and found that the reliability was indeed true. The gun hadn't seen actions in years and yet, it fired great. That was the beauty of this weapon. When his magazine was empty, Jonas took one of the floor and aimed again.
When the magazine was secure, he charged the handle and fired again.
"The AK-47. Or actually, the AKM. 'Nuff said." The group agreed on that. Jonas then took up the wooden rifle.
"This one is the oldest in the family. A Mosin-Nagant." It surprised the group that the last word was spoken in the French term.
"Made by Sergei Ivanovich Mosin with some help from the Belgian Léon Nagant, this weapon has been used by the greatest snipers on the planet and the poorest farmers. It's really simple. Put five bullets on the top of the gun, load them in via a sniper clip. Aim at your target and you can put five men down This is an M44. Last model it was actually made in. It's been used in nearly every major war humans been in since 1891. One can say that this gun is like the AK and M1911. Pretty old but this one can still fight. I attached a scope to this one and I can kill someone from a click away. Keeping wind and bullet trajectory in mind." After that, Jonas laid down. Sniping was still done from a lying position.
He could go sitting but that would have been more fitting in a warzone when he needed to pack up.
The longest distance was nearly 100 meters and still, Jonas managed to hit from that distance. One great feat with just iron sights. Not that it was hard for him.
50 meters more and he could talk to Mr. Häyhä.
Oh, Jonas had wished to meet that man. At least, he had a good reason to kill.
Then he loaded them again. Pulling five bullets in them, Jonas aimed again. This was fun.
As for the last one, Jonas had pulled out another LMG than last time. "Anyone who knows this big guy is?" He said while the large ammunition belt laid over the place.
"Get some," Issei said and Jonas smirked. "Yep. Get some." Jonas again laid down and a train drum could be heard over the place. "Get some," Jonas shouted as he fired and the casings flew around him.
"Get some!" More bullets were fired and the casings fell on the floor.
"GET SOME!" and with that, Jonas ended the whole thing.
When the human was done, he had seen the reactions. Issei and Saji looked at him in awe that he was worried about. Sides that, the other girls were mixed from amazed to disturbed by his skills with his guns.
Raynare smirked. She knew how good he was with weapons like these and shooting at wooden boards was just easy.
Kalawarner and Mittelt now had to take her words at face value. That guy was deadly and he was good with his rifles.
Sona and Rias were shocked by his skill. There were some bits of a grin on his face but his face was back to his relaxed one.
"So what you think? Am I allowed to keep my guns and is my skill sufficient enough to keep me around as fighter in case you need me? Enough so when I keep others safe, they'll be granted protection."
Jonas asked and the two [Kings] nodded.
"We'll take it yes. You are indeed one deadly guy. And your skills will be a great addition to us in Kuoh." The guy nodded and he turned to the four who wanted him to teach them about guns.
Before long, they moved to their safety and they were just getting handguns but Jonas also got to one-handed submachine guns like an Uzi. They could handle those weapons pretty damn well for green ones and for Jonas, that was all he required.
They fired the weapons and that was all he needed. After that, the two Peerages moved out. Sona and Rias both gotten their hands on a Makarov and Jonas had let them fire it.
Despite it all, they were affronted that this guy had them beat on that little thing called gun experience. He wasn't some gunslinging cowboy. He was controlled, disciplined yet he could have his fun with using a gun. But with his guns, he could hit every target yet they had spent eight rounds and hit only one time.
When that was over, Jonas decided it was time for them to move to his basement.
"Before we enter here, you will all keep one thing in mind. If you touch anything without my permission, I'm going to kick your ass so hard that you'd be crippled for the rest of your life. Got that?"
When he got nods from everyone, Jonas slid the door open. It was more a stair to a large storehouse. If you have never been in one, it was more a rough version of a supermarket and on the shelves, guns were spread open on them. Made sure, they were put there in a safe way, they were all collected by their family. Ammo was stored in boxes beneath.
There were also vehicles. Jeeps, some with guns attached to them, motorcycles, quads, even a few trucks. Jonas had a driver's license but didn't like going by them. He preferred by foot or by Fallen Angels. In case he needed to go far, he could.
Having friends on the force made shit a lot easier.
"This." He said with a grin that was close to demented. "This is my propriety."
"May I ask how you received this?" Sona sked and Jonas nodded. A bit more information would be nice.
"Don't worry, Sona. This is all legal. It came with my inheritance from Daddy Kerevechko. He lead the mercenary company when the older CO died. Ran the whole thing before things came crashing down. Put my name on an adoption paper before he took the entire nap. When I crawled out of Africa and I got in Japan. I owe this base, plus one in the States. Those two with the contents and a lot of money on an account."
And with that, Jonas ended the talk.
"I hope this is enough." The soldier sighed and he looked to the two [Kings].
"You've seen my house. You have the equipment. You have seen what I can do with them. Now, is our deal still on?"
Rias and Sona looked at Jonas who leaned against the railing. The Fallen Angels joined him and the Devils went to their Masters.
"I think you'll be one valuable ally," Sona answered.
"We will respect your deal," Rias added.
"Than we are done. I'll see you on Monday." The Devils left by magical circles and Jonas couldn't help but feel exhausted. His body had worn out from the entire thing.
"I suppose we aren't going to make it late," Raynare asked and Jonas looked at her.
"Yep."
After dinner, the two moved to their bed and Jonas pressed his forehead against hers.
"You're okay?" She asked in worry for Jonas. He wasn't in his normal ways.
"For a lack of a better term, guess I am." The mercenary closed his eyes and just tried to shake the feeling he majorly fucked up.
"You look down. But hey, I got some news that might cheer you up." Jonas raised an eyebrow.
"I think that Kalawarner likes you." The human wondered about it and shrugged it off.
"That might be. But I made my choice and I am one hundred percent not regretting it." With a kiss on her lips, he made that clear.
"I suppose you don't know about that." Her voice carried a fun edge.
"About what?" Jonas wasn't suspicious. His instincts told him to relax. Which he did when her arms pressed him closer.
The fact that he got two tits against his tits made it more fun.
"Supernatural species have a little thing they have grown used to. Polygamy."
"Sounds fun. So. Last time I checked, I belong to the human race. So how are you selling me that?"
"I am selling you that as I don't think it's a bad thing. Besides, I suppose you'll make your life in the Supernatural race. Even if you decide to stay human. Sides that, I don't mind the idea. After all, I want your kids." Jonas looked up and down and sighed.
"We keep that on hold. I am still in high school. And neechan would kill me if I got you knocked up. I'm still in high school and something tells me that we have only started one very long, fucked up road before this blows over."
Raynare kissed Jonas and the black-haired beauty smiled at him.
"I'll keep you on that. And whatever told you that, I'll trust it. It is what kept us alive during Africa. But now, we need some rest. And think about what I said."
Nodding, Jonas closed his eyes. He wasn't sure about it but his sister always told him that he was right to live as he wanted.
The weeks settled in after that.
Jonas was on the seat when he watched the woman enter after the principal introduced her.
Kalawarner had bought a set of clothes. Modest in its own right yet fashionable. A long skirt that covered her legs and a turtle neck of a maroon that fitted the Fallen Angel Teacher nicely.
It did little to hide the fact she had great assets hidden underneath those.
"Good day everyone. My name is Kalawarner Amano and I'm your homeroom teacher. I know this is sudden and all but the position was open and I found it reasonable to settle in. I don't expect anything but the best of you all. I will be sure you all pass with flying colors. And I'll make sure every last one of you will. Any questions?"
Jonas found it funny how teacher like she was. Despite being rescued for a week, she had been a bit teasing and looked after the house but he didn't interact much with her. Yet, in the class, she made a good show. Jonas didn't mind it.
It was an open secret that Jonas had thrown the last one out.
The teacher was mediocre but had the idea of having both males and females underneath him.
When his hand touched Jonas inside, Sona wasn't sure but there was no body left.
Not that any missed that pervert.
One hand was raised.
"Are you related to Amano-san in class 2B?"
"Yes, she is a younger cousin of mine. Next question?"
"Where did you live before?"
"Europe. Next?"
"Yes, do you have a boyfriend?" Kalawarner rolled her eyes.
"I don't but I have someone I like. And that is enough." She began to teach and Jonas liked how she did it.
It wasn't that hard and he had a serious brain working for him. Even so, she had no difficulty teaching the subjects. Even Akeno had to go along with her teaching.
When the day was over, she got a nod from the boy and a thumbs up.
With a smile, she had an idea Jonas liked it. He did it as well.
Jonas could get us to have the three around.
They did however had to go to the Student Council. Politely knocking, the two heard an enter.
Inside, only Sona and Tsubaki were there.
"Jonas, Kalawarner-san." With a polite nod, they were greeted.
"Sup, Sona, Tsubaki. I had an idea you wanted to see us." The informal greeting made Kalawarner wonder how brazen Jonas was. Sona just sighed.
"Yes. Kalawarner-san, I know this is sudden but Rias had requested you to become the ORC adviser as a teacher. I hope you're up for it." The blue-haired angel looked a bit perplexed on that.
"Any reason why?"
"Yes. Rias has seen it a way that she can keep you around after school. I hope this is not an issue."
"Don't worry, Kalawarner. Me, Ray and Mittelt are also around. You won't be alone." The teacher nodded.
"There are some forms you need to fill in. You can go, Jonas." With a nod, Jonas left the place. Looking over his shoulder, he entered the clubroom. The place had Raynare having a chat with Rias. For those who hated each other a few weeks ago, the two found some common ground.
Not that Jonas minded that. Mittelt was glaring at Koneko and when the door closed, the group turned to the mercenary.
"Afternoon." Rias nodded at him. "Good evening, Jonas. For tonight's training, I hope you don't mind if we add Koneko in the training."
Looking over the girl who had a look of stone on her face, Jonas wasn't sure.
That girl could make a fortune as a poker player.
"For tonight, I had something else in mind for you, Hyoudou." Issei turned to his tormentor with a surprised look.
"I can kick the shit out of you but you won't learn anything from it. So we are going to try something different." Jonas answered and he went outside. Issei followed him and indeed, they learned something different.
Jonas had been trained in several different styles to the point he could make a living out of martial arts. Teaching Issei different techniques to fight, also made his endurance and body grow. Issei wasn't that strong so he had to learn it.
Jonas also told him different things to keep in mind. The [Boosted Gear] relied on two different things.
The base strength of its user.
The strength to hold the power in the body.
Issei lacked both so he had to learn it and fast.
This time, it wasn't just getting the shit kicked out of him. It was more learning things. At the end of that evening, Jonas was glad that the progress was showing. He had a long road to go but with this, Issei at least had some start instead of getting thrown in.
After a few more pointers, he nodded to Rias who looked at Issei who was wondering about it.
He got into this life remarkably well and learned tons from Jonas. His clients liked him and his training went on.
Would this be enough?
Jonas had seen the three Fallen Angels who waited for him and he walked with them following him.
"What made you change the usual training, Jonas-sama?" Kalawarner asked and Jonas looked to the sky. He wasn't sure but something irked him. He had that bugging feeling since last night.
His guts told him that things were going sideways pretty fast.
In the evening, Issei laid down in his bed. It was different after all what Jonas did. He learned more. What he also found shocking was how good Jonas was with his guns. The show he did in front of them made them all see how deadly he could be.
"The strength to protects what is yours? I wonder what that is." Before he could muse more, a magical circle opened. Rias came out of it and landed at his chest.
Straddling him, her voice had a certain panic in it that he hadn't heard before.
"Issei, I need you to take my virginity." His eyes went open in a shock as he saw the girl stripping. He wasn't sure about it but he found her form to be very alluring.
'I'm finding this awesome.' Unbeknownst to him, he made the Corna sign. 'Yet, I have a need to prepare myself for this.
When it came to this, Issei wasn't sure how to see it like this.
"Issei," his master asked him while she was clad into her unmentionables. White underwear, damn, did she look good in that.
"Do you find me not alluring?" She asked in the remains of her clothes while he shook his hands and head.
"Absolutely not but I would like to know why you asked me." The girl spoke again.
"I have thought it over and this seems to be the only solution. When this is over, my problem should be solved."
How does a woman look so confident in her underwear? Rias managed to pull it off with a hand on her hip.
"There are some uncompleted parts but you do have potential." Color flooded his cheeks when he looked at Rias.
"Okay, you lost me," Issei asked while he wasn't sure what was going on.
Rias wanted to bump uglies with him yet, he was sure there was more to this.
"Besides, I do not think we have to wait long for the finish." Draping herself over him, she pressed him closer while she fiddled with her bra.
"Buchou, what is this?"
"Issei, is this your first time?" A hesitant nod came out. He was a virgin for this whole thing.
"Don't worry, there will be some awkward parts but we'll figure something out."
Issei would appreciate her tits coming out, they were the best he had ever seen, he still wasn't sure about this. They shook when he looked at her.
"Don't worry, I will hold you down for this." Her hands came to her underwear.
And now, Issei looked shocked at her. Guiding his right hand to her tits, the heartbeat came from it and Issei was sure that she was also nervous.
"Look, this is all nice and good but Buchou, I am not really ready for this." He gulped and this sounded damn lame yet, this was how he felt.
"Do you mean to embarrass me? I can't go to Yuuto for this. He's too much of a gentleman." Before he could think, he got up and hugged the half-naked girl in his lap. With his head in her tits, another light shone and they turned to the source.
Rias made a sad sigh when she looked at it. "Looks like I ran out of time." She let go of Issei and from the magical circle, Issei wasn't sure what he saw.
A maid.
That was the first thing that came to mind. The woman in front of them was a bit older than them at least, her looks said so. She wore a blue and white French maid outfit. Long sleeves to it and a white maid headband over her face.
Her hair was silver with long braids on each side. The rest was tied to behind. Her eyes were a piercing red as she looked at the two. Issei gulped as he looked at her.
"Rias-sama. I think your father and Sirzechs-sama would be in shame if they were witness of this preposterous scene." Her voice was monotone yet, it held a hint of disappointment in it.
"Sirzechs?" Issei asked and Rias sighed.
"My older brother. Issei, this is Grayfia. Like you, she is a servant in the house of Gremory. She is the [Queen] of my older brother." Standing up, she glared at the woman.
"My body is my own. Who I choose to have it, is my decision to make. One more thing. I won't allow anyone to talk down to my slave. Even if that person is you."
A silence filled the room as Grayfia collected the clothes of Rias.
"Even so, you're still the heiress to the Gremory family. Have some self-respect." She said while dressing Rias again. Then she turned to Issei.
"Nice to meet you. I am Grayfia Lucifuge. Pleased to make your acquaintance." With a small bow, Issei could see her tits pressed in that uniform.
"Thanks." He said while he looked at her.
'Damn, she is pretty.' Even so, Issei didn't notice the hand creeping closer to him, that pinched his cheek. Turning to the pouting face of Rias, he found it cute.
"Sorry, Issei. My head wasn't straight." Looking into the pools of green, he couldn't fault her.
"No problem here." He answered his master who looked at him like that. She had been bowing to him while Grayfia asked the million-dollar question.
"Issei? So is this the boy you were talking about?" Rias nodded and slid off the bed.
"Indeed, this is my [Pawn]." Grayfia looked at him.
"The Sekiryuutei. This boy?"
Rias turned back to her. "Even so, all what you have to say is only meant for me. Akeno will also be there."
Issei had to hand it to her. Half naked, she was still a proud lady.
"Akeno is also allowed."
"The priestess of Thunder? Very well. Even for high-ranking Devils, the [Queen] should be at their master's side." Turning back to her [Pawn], she gave him a sad look.
"Issei, could you do me a favor for tomorrow? Tell Kerevechko I rather don't have his associates in the clubroom?"
The boy nodded. "Sure thing." After that, she leaned in for a kiss on his cheek.
In the eyes, Issei wasn't sure what he read that night.
The morning after.
Issei hadn't slept well that night. The entire scenario played in his head. Before long, he ended up at the classroom of the third year.
Knocking on the door, he missed Akeno but found that Jonas was sitting on his chair, reading over a handwritten diary.
"Kerevechko-senpai?" The older guy turned to Issei. Let it be said that Jonas was surprised. "Hyoudou. What's up? You need me for something." Issei nodded and walked in.
"Buchou asked if you could ask your associates better stay out of the clubroom today." The mercenary raised an eyebrow.
"Why? Does she want me there?" He asked with a bit of hostility.
"Let's just keep it at the fact that it is better for your associates to stay out. Believe me. And yes, Kerevechko, be around." Turning to Akeno, Jonas nodded but he didn't let Issei leave that easily. Gripping the hand, Jonas made a motion.
"Open up. What's going on?" Issei sighed and let Jonas to the rooftop.
For some reason, he found it nice to have a guy of an older age to talk to.
"Last night, Buchou came to my place. She wanted me to sleep with her." Jonas shrugged on that matter. People bumped uglies from a younger age.
"You did?"
"No, we were interrupted."
"Before, between or after?" Jonas joked for a bit.
"Before. It was the [Queen] of her brother. For some reason, she was desperate." Issei told him and Jonas sighed.
"So not just itching the ditch? I hope I am wrong but if Gremory wanted you to sleep with her, it can mean that something is not right."
Issei looked at the face. He was more serious than ever.
"What is that?"
"No clue. But my instincts have been telling me for a while that shit is going sideways. No clue on what but it ain't good. Got a hunch thing will come to a halt now."
With that, the two went back to their classes. Jonas informed the three Fallen Angels to not be around. After both the warning of Issei and Akeno, he wasn't sure but he wasn't going to let in this mess.
After that, he was the last to enter the room. For some reason, he looked at Grayfia who stood behind Rias who was unusually stiff.
The woman turned to the third year who raised an eyebrow.
"Milady, who is this? I haven't heard from him yet." Jonas looked at the maid and back to the redhead. "Gremory, who might this be?"
"This is Grayfia Lucifuge. The [Queen] of my brother. Grayfia, this is Jonas Kerevechko. An acquaintance of me and Sona. He's also a part of my club." The woman bowed to him.
"Good day to you."
Jonas lifted his right hand and made a two-fingered salute. "Afternoon." He paused for a bit. "Ma'am. Buchou, any reason why you have this maid here? And why Ray and the others weren't allowed."
Grayfia turned back to Rias and asked politely.
"Milady, if I may explain?" Raising her hand, Rias stopped her. "You see." Before she could, they found a magical circle opening.
Koneko was on the couch sitting and next to Rias, Akeno stood. Asia had wrapped her arms around Issei's and Kiba was next of them. Jonas had taken the other position.
All of them who were new wondered what the hell was going on. A bird's cry was heard and from the flames, a young man with a burgundy suit appeared.
Phoenix." Kiba said.
They could see the guy now properly. The guy had an arrogant look on his face. The moment he opened his mouth, Jonas decided that he did like this guy.
He also decided that Rias earned a few points in his book for asking him to keep his Fallen Angels at home.
"And Riser has arrived in the human realm." Turning to Rias, he smiled and Jonas was sure that he would never allow anyone to look in the same manner to anyone. Yet, his brain told him not to act.
"I have come all this way to see you, my beloved Rias." The girl looked at him in disgust. Not that one could fault her for that.
"Okay, who is this guy?" Issei asked and Grayfia began to explain.
"This man is Riser Phoenix-sama. He is a pure-blood high-class Devil. The heir to the Phoenix Clan." Jonas began to wonder.
That wasn't the reason he came here.
"So?" Jonas asked.
"He's also the fiancée to the Gremory's Clan heiress." An uncomfortable feeling crept into Jonas.
"You mean to tell me this guy is?" Issei asked with a shocked voice. All eyes were now turned to him.
"Indeed, his is Rias-sama's fiancée," Grayfia explained and Issei's head began to toll.
"They're getting married." For Jonas, some things were now explained.
The guy got a tea from Akeno who gave him a polite bow. The [Queen] moved away from it while the rest of the peerage stood on the opposite. Jonas didn't like the sight of Rias being played with.
Okay, she wasn't his type and sure, she wasn't that great but there were some lines that he didn't like crossed.
He placed his right hand on Issei's shoulder to keep him calm down.
Jonas hoped he could follow his own advice.
Rias stood up when she had enough. "Riser, that is enough. I think I told you many times. I have not one intention of marrying you."
The guy smirked at her. "Rias, I don't think you can be selfish in this regard. Your clan has been hard-pressed. Given the fact that your brother became a Satan, you're the only one carrying the Gremory name. It'd be sad to see it go lost without an heir."
"I don't wish to destroy my family. I will be sure to give them an heir. But that child won't be yours. So in regards, I will not marry you."
The guy smirked at her.
"Pure blooded Devils have gone drastically after the last war. We need to stay pure for the future. Your father and Sirzechs have given this great thought when they decided on the engagement." Jonas had half a heart to spit on the floor.
"My father and brother and everyone else. They're all too obsessed with it. I still have the school life to run through in the human realm. I can't return home as your bride yet. So I will say this again. Riser, I won't marry you."
The guy veered up and Jonas had a hunch this guy wasn't used to the fact his women talked back. Cupping her cheek, she was forced to look in his eyes.
"Listen Rias, Riser is the heir of the Phoenix Clan. Losing face is unacceptable." Turning to her peerage, who were ready to fight the asshole, he smirked cruelly.
"Riser will take you back to the underworld. Even if that means killing everyone in this room." Their power veered but it was stopped with Grayfia.
"Please stop this. Riser-sama, Rias-sama. I'm here on the order of Sirzechs-sama. I will not let anything happen, for his sake. Is that understood?"
The Phoenix relented and shrugged. "If one is told such a thing by the Ultimate [Queen], even Riser knows when to calm down." Jonas had been sure that the woman was strong.
"My masters foresaw this would happen. Therefore, there is one solution."
Rias looked at the woman. "I suppose they have. What is it?"
"If Rias-sama would take her own wishes above those of her clan, this matter could be settled into a Rating Game." The woman informed them and Jonas sighed. Issei wasn't sure about it.
"Rating Game? What is that?" The [Pawn] asked.
"It's a game similar to chess, where two [Kings] face each other. Together with their peerage. It is the reason why our system is called the Evil Piece system as they resemble the same thing." Kiba told them and Jonas was sure that he had heard that before.
"Indeed. That is why we are granted certain powers in relation to those pieces." Akeno said and Jonas sighed. This was just great.
"Riser has been in numerous Rating Games and won most of them. My inexperienced bride has never been in one. You also lack the pieces for this game."
The piece of shit sneered over them.
Akeno informed the rest of the matter. "The only ones qualified to compete in Rating Games are mature Devils with entire peerages."
"Means that we're at a total disadvantage," Issei shouted.
"And that's not all," Koneko added as she was still focused on the scene.
"Rias, is this little group your entire Peerage?" Riser asked and Jonas sighed.
"I'm the exception to the rule. I'm not a part of her Peerage." The guy now gave Jonas worth a look.
"Oh, who might you then be?" Jonas's fingers twitched. He was grateful that Raynare wasn't around but on the other hand, she could calm him down.
"My name is Jonas Kerevechko. I'm an acquaintance of Rias Gremory and Sona Shitori."
Jonas said in a neutral voice. The Devil looked at him with a bit more intake.
"Hm, you don't appear to be a Devil. What are you?"
"Human." The mercenary answered. From that point, Riser threw his head back and roared in laughter. "My dear Rias, you can't be serious. The fact that you have this little group is one thing but that you let yourself in with weak humans is rich." Jonas growled at him.
"Weak? How about we settle this then, huh? I save Gremory the trouble of a Rating Game and I get to blow off steam while I do the world a favor by removing your existence. By ripping your boiling guts out of your fucking stomach and use them to hang you with. How about that, huh?"
It was Riser's turn to glare at him.
"You're a human. Which is the lowest of the low. Besides that, there is no way you can fight against a High-Class Devil and make it out. You would lack the power for that." Jonas grinned at him now and the group backed away.
The grin on his face could be described as demented. The only person who had seen that wasn't around.
"Power isn't everything. You might have more power than me but there is something a lot more valuable. The little grey cells as a certain Belgian would say. Something I reckon you don't have a lot off." The guy's eyes flamed at Jonas but they were stopped.
"Riser-sama, Jonas-sama. Both of you will calm down. I will not allow a disruption." Jonas looked at her and nodded. "Fine if you want to play it that way."
The mercenary wasn't going to piss Grayfia off.
Yet.
"Riser will obey the orders of the ultimate [Queen]. Riser came here for my bride, not to waste time on useless trash." The bird sneered and he looked at Jonas and Issei.
"I'll show you something." With a finger snap, a magical circle opened.
The Devils and Jonas weren't too surprised that Riser had a set of a full Peerage made up solely of girls.
Fourteen if Jonas guessed correctly. Still, he found it stupid that he wasted this on those girls.
Difference galore and it was the same as a fetish in the same story. But even so, Jonas looked disgusted over the group.
The same could be said about much of Rias [Peerage].
A girl, dressed in blue and white, most likely Chinese descent, her clothes stuck to her, marking her assets clearly. Jonas guessed she was made for hand to hand combat, given the fact she lacked any weapons. If Jonas could guess, she was a [Rook].
The other [Rook] was dressed in a leather jacket and a jeans. The jeans lacked a right leg and her jacket gave enough view of her midriff. She also wore a mask on her face, covering partly her face.
Two girls carried swords. Jonas thought back to Kiba. So those must be [Knights]. One of them had dirty blond hair, held together with a headband. Her outfit was a mix of both European and Asian sword fighters.
Her sword and dagger were tied at her waist. She had more a power type than a speed type.
Her counterpart carried a large sword, trapped on her back. She was a bit taller, black long hair and her outfit was one piece.
The mercenary tilted his head to see the [Queen]. She was more mature than the other members. Her purple eyes eyed Jonas with an eager look. It matcher her hair. She was the most dangerous one.
Her blue top didn't keep much to the imagination. Her pale skirt had open sides and she didn't carry much armor.
As for the [Bishops]. The first one was more or less a Nadeshiko. She had black hair, a bit like Akeno and wore a kimono. The other one was clearly a relative of Riser.
She wore her outfit of a pink one-piece dress and wasn't prepared for a fight. Jonas noticed her hair was like her brother. She had dark blue eyes and her blond hair was tied in twin tails with drill-like curls.
The [Pawns] came in sets of two. Or at least, six of them. Two were maids, one had something of a swimsuit or whatever the hell that might be. Another one was dressed in some kind of Japanese clothes and like the maids, she carried a stick.
Two others were small with green hair and were dressed in gym outfits. The last twins were some kind of oversized cat. They had some kind of white sailor uniforms.
Like with the other members, there wasn't much of subtlety left of it.
From what Jonas guessed, Riser used this Peerage more as sex slaves instead of capable fighters. It wasn't like how Rias did it but for him, he didn't care.
Issei was crying his eyes out on the whole thing.
"Rias, why is that servant of yours crying like that?" The redhead could only sigh.
"Well, there is a certain dream he has." Riser smirked and called out one of the girls.
The [Queen] walked over to her. Before long, the Phoenix put his tongue in her mouth and she seemed to melt in the touch as he shamelessly groped her.
Never mind the fact that Rias was right next to him.
"Look at this." Riser sneered as he manhandled that girl.
"You'll never be able to do this." Riser's glare was fixed on Issei but both turned to a loud sound of disgust. Jonas spat on the floor when they looked at him retching.
"Motherfucker, there is a thing called subtlety. Ever heard of it?" Jonas looked at him in a way that made Riser think that Jonas viewed him as the lowest being on the planet.
"What do you know about us Devils? You're nothing more but a normal human. Even that servant of Rias has a higher position than hers. This is something you'll never be able to do. Same as that [Pawn]."
Jonas rolled his eyes.
"Like I want that. And even in that case, I wouldn't be dreaming of that. I get the fact that you, Supernatural species might have grown used to polygamy but there are some things you shouldn't do in public. You don't see Rias as a way to go on this marriage for the betterment of you Devils but mainly because you want to, in a proper way put, copulate." He walked to Riser and crossed his arms.
"Hyoudou, you really want to be like this asshole? Cause he ain't a proper example to follow." The Sekiryuutei looked back to Jonas and to Riser.
"No, thank you. And we don't need a Rating Game. I can take you on here and now." Riser barked a laugh when Issei summoned his Gear.
"Miya." From the Peerage, one little girl came out and she was dressed as some sort of samurai. She was wearing a wooden stick and Issei hesitated for a bit.
"You gotta be kidding?"
The girl didn't wait and launched herself at him.
The stick hit him full on but he stood his ground. "Was that supposed to hurt? That guy hits me harder." Taking the stick, he raised his fist and punched her full on the face. Riser's eyes went wide open.
The same could be said about the ones of Rias but for different reasons. She didn't expect her [Pawn] to be capable of that. Jonas on the other hand smirked. Training paid off big time.
But there were now limits.
"Why you lowly." Before Riser could act, Jonas had pressed his M1911 under his nose. "Calm yourself down or I'm going to blow your brain all over those girls." Jonas had pulled up his cloth.
"He does make a point. We don't need a Rating Game. I can take you out and save us all the headache." Riser had a good idea to stay quiet.
"Jonas-sama, put that weapon away." Jonas glared back at her and turned to Riser.
"If you could, pray tell me why I should. This guy waltzed in this place, majorly pissed at our shoes and made me angry. Gremory doesn't want to marry him and it does mess with my style." The mercenary told the [Queen] yet he made sure that Jonas didn't make Grayfia angry
"Your style?" Rias asked. She wasn't expecting him to step up for her but she wasn't complaining.
"Told you. My style is live and let live. You marrying this asshat isn't a way you can live." Jonas answered and his eyes softened as he looked at Rias.
"You lowly human. I will."
"Do nothing, keep your manners and shut the fuck up."
"Maybe I can teach you some manners on the Rating Game. That way, it'll be that you don't mess with us, High-Class Devils." Jonas scoffed underneath his cloth.
"Have you forgotten? I am not a part of Rias' peerage. And while I'm now very tempted to join so I can wreck your ass, I still don't want to." Jonas holstered his gun.
"There is a way." The voice of reason spoke up and Jonas looked at Grayfia.
"Given the fact that Rias-oujousama doesn't have a full set of servants and because both of you, young men, seem to be willing to fight it out, we can have Jonas-sama participate in this game. If Rias-oujousama agrees to it." Jonas had a half a heart to tell her that he didn't want to but kept his mouth shut.
Rias shared a look with him and he nodded.
"I accept."
"Goes for me but just for this. I don't suppose you got a way to measure my worth in Evil Pieces." The Devils of Rias smiled now. Odds have gone seriously up.
If it worked out for them."
"I do have a way. Place your hands over mine." A light shone from Grayfia's hands when she could feel the energy coming and Jonas sighed when he felt the stuff.
"Jonas Kerevechko's worth in Evil Pieces is." The building built up.
"One [Pawn] piece." The entire room looked gobsmacked and it was a good thing Jonas still had his cloth pulled up to cover his open mouth.
Rias and her Peerage were also shocked. After the fight in the slaughterhouse and the show of his skills last Sunday, the idea that he was worth one Pawn Piece would be incredulous.
Riser found the information to be incredibly funny as his laughs howled all over the place.
"Hahaha, Rias." He wheezed as he was trying to catch his breath while laughing.
"You're telling Riser this. Hahahahahaha, this is such a hilarious joke." When Riser made himself serious, he looked at Jonas.
"This is rich. Your supposed savior only is worth a [Pawn] piece. I will allow him to fight with you." Grayfia coughed and Riser was lucky he stopped laughing.
"Because Rias-oujousama hasn't been in any Rating Game, she'll get ten days to prepare. I'll let both houses know of the agreement."
Riser turned to Jonas. "When we have that game, you won't be coming back. I'll make sure of that." The ugly sneer was sickening while Jonas glared at him.
"Try your worst. We'll talk to each other then." With a flame, his peerage left and not long after that Grayfia. The group looked at Jonas who pulled his cloth down.
"Gremory, not that I want to sound rude. But what the fuck? Why did this damned system only see me as worth one [Pawn] piece?"
They heard a tone they hadn't heard from Jonas before and Rias shook her head.
"That is because the Evil Piece system only keeps track of demonic power, the power of a [Sacred Gear], other influences like that." The tone she used was a bit of an apology.
"So no keeping track of my psychical strength and endurance, nor the experience as fighter and survivor and my skills as gunner? Those are all counted out. And that is why." Rias nodded but she smiled.
"The good news is that I have a [Rook] and [Knight] piece left so you can train with us plus be a temporary part of my Peerage." Jonas grinned at her and looked to the roof.
"We can have more." He looked over to her peerage and back at her.
"Your shitty excuse of a fiancée underestimates us. He does for you cause you haven't been in a Rating game yet and he sees me a low [Pawn]. We gonna use that as an advantage. Know yourself but not your enemy and for every victory gained, you'll suffer a defeat." Rias nodded at him.
"I'll let Sona know that we'll be off the next ten days for training. I also will ask if it is okay if we take your Fallen Angels with us. They will be valuable allies for us."
Nodding for her consideration, Jonas hoped Rias wouldn't be angry at him.
"Gremory, I'm afraid you gotta wait one more day for me." The group looked at him with a bit of a surprise.
"I am going to come over sure but I'll need to bring my gear. We're gonna turn that Rating Game of yours into one fucking war."
The grin on his face could only be described as bloodthirsty.
I was kinda thinking about getting the Familiar Forest but will hold that off for after season 1. I can do more from there.
We reached that point around 12K words so I decided to wrap it up in a different thing.
Plenty of references here. Figure them out. Who gets one of them gets a cookie.
Been thinking on some stuff and I gotta work on it now.
Also guys. If you want my older versions online, just let me know. I have been reading them again and they aged well. Just let me know.
Been done on time. This one was nice to write out.
There is some more stuff I would like to tell you guys about.
One is a recommendation of mine. The Pawn of Grisaia by Curse of Whimsey. A seriously good fic that is pretty close to mine. It puts Yuuji Kazami (MC from the series of Grisaia in the shoes of the Pawn) and the story is one solid read.
The second thing is that I and Curse have been chatting (I hope you don't mind Curse) and the idea has played in our heads to get both our gunslingers, Yuuji and Jonas, into a fight with a certain Hunter and no, I ain't talking about Mattheus. It might come, it might not come. Just something extra.
A third thing does fit in with how I referred to Jonas and Yuuji. Gunslingers.
An idea that has been on my head for years and it might to fruition.
I intend to make a fic where instead of Issei as MC, we're going to have a four-holstered reaper who cries bullets for tears instead of who inherited something from another character of DxD. Plenty left up for debate.
If you guys figure out who I am talking about, I'm seriously putting that upon ideas. But I got enough on my plate now. It is also something that is an idea.
Saluut.
