Dinner From Hell

Part 2

"Mercedes… what really happened between you and your ex?"

"He cheated on me." I answered honestly walking over to the swing sitting down and he followed pushing me gently.

"And what else?" He asked. Girl just tell him…

"We broke up and never looked back…" Okay so we lying that's a great way to start a healthy relationship.

"You looked back… he was too calm for someone who knew he cheated on you and was too relaxed in my presence. I understand if it's too much but your mother didn't seem aware of how you two ended." Sam said stopping the swing and walking around looking at me deeply. Bitch open the door!

"She didn't know, I tried to tell her but… I don't know my timing was right or how she reacted when I told her I wanted to talk rubbed me the wrong way..." Okay good start now tell him the rest! Hell you can tell him everything but this one thing.

"And." He asked waiting for me to continue.

"And that's that. He went his way, I went my way and my mother never looked at him any differently which is why she was content with him being here." I replied with a shrug avoiding his eyes.

"When I was in high school this girl I was dating, damn near in love with cheated on me with my bestfriend… she got pregnant by him too. The big insult she acted as if I was the reason she cheated and not only did she blame me for her stepping out, she flaunted their relationship at every chance. It fucked me up for a minute but I eventually realized that it wasn't me it was her. That type of betrayal is hard to get over but if you never face it then it's going to make what we are building difficult, no matter if this is just two people who are enjoying each other's time or if it moved to something more serious. At the end it'll help to face whatever you're holding in but I'm not going to force you to relieve it if you're not ready." Well shit… I know bitch.

"I didn't look back perse…" I said looking around and sighing. "I did something totally logical in that moment and I promised Marcus who I also lied and said knew nothing about the situation but he does, that I would never talk about what I did that night.."

Flashback

"Anthony!"

"What? Why are you following me like this?"

"Wait, no one is following you and you don't realize how fucked up this is, you played me and think I should just be okay with it?" I replied looking at him like he lost his damn mind.

"Look these things happen, no harm intended… I wanted something different and you were pulling away so..." He replied shrugging.

"I what? No harm intended? You fucking kissed the next bitch right in my face like you were trying to make a point! I haven't done anything differently you cheated on me and tried to make it look like it was my fault!"

"Maybe it was, I mean you didn't have time for me and I have needs, needs she's willing to give freely."

"Hmm… so because I told you no once I'm not giving it up enough? You just equated me to fucking cheap bitch who doesn't value herself." I said nodding and growing angry before giving him a smile.

"Mercedes-"

"Have fun with your new bitch because you and I both know she'll never be me." I said walking away before he grabbed my arm and pulled me down the side hallway.

"Look we can work this out, you can make it up to me." I couldn't help but laugh in his face.

"You really making this my fault huh? Well we'll make sure everyone knows the truth now want we." I said before walking off to my class steaming. I had to sit through three more classes with people asking me if I was okay or people whispering about how I got played before I was able to go home.

I'm not going to lie that shit stung but I wasn't going to let those people at my school see me sweat, I drove home and ran to my mom's office.

"Moma I need to talk to you." I said and she turned around holding her finger to let me know she was on the phone. I nodded and when she got off she before turning back to me.

"What's up?"

"Moma, something happened today and I'm not sure how to -"

"What did you do?"

"What? Nothing, it wasn't me it was Ant-"

"Baby girl I really need to get back to this can we talk about whatever this is later?" My mother asked dismissively and I just took a step back and nodded before walking out.

I was in my room trying to figure out what to do just scrolling on instagram when I saw it, Anthony's post with his new 'girl' and clicked it read the caption

I never look back and only upgrade.

"Oh this motherfucker got me all the way twisted. Hmm.. bet, I'm show you an upgrade bitch!" I said before grabbing my keys and running out the door. I stopped by the local store to grab a few things before pulling up close to Anthony's house parking a few houses down, lucky for me his parents loved me.. for now that is and I knocked on the door.

"Oh Mercedes how are you sweetheart?" His mother Jackie asked smiling.

"I'm great! I'm trying to surprise Anthony and I wanted to know if he was here?" I asked a sweetly as possible.

"No he stepped out a few moments ago but should be back any minute, is that going to be a problem?" She asked moving aside to letting me inside.

"It'll be perfect! I think he's helping a new girl out so it's totally fine, mind if I sneak up there really quick?"

"Oh sure go ahead!" She said nodding me upstairs before walking off I waited a few seconds before running upstairs to his room. I looked around and smiled when I could when he got home, I quickly took off my dress and located his Letterman'sjacket laying it on the floor and taking out the huge permanent marker writing CHEATER across the front and back. I grabbed my phone after putting his jacket on taking a few sexy pictures of myself sprawled on his bed with his jacket.

I hung it back up grabbing his jerseyand looked out the window smiling when I saw him and the new girl getting out, I messed his bed and my hair up before placing a thing I bought on the floor and stepped into his bathroom waiting for the right moment to come out.

"Umm what are those?" I heard the girl say and had to hold back a giggle. Yes I know this is childish but you do not play Mercedes Faye Jones and get away with it.

"They're yours… right?" Anthony asked.

"Hell no they're not mine! And what took you so long to come get me?" Itook that as mycue so she flushed the toilet and walked out pretending to be shocked when Isaw her.

"Oh did you get some more condoms?" I asked wrapping my arms around Anthony batting her eyes at him.

"Wow really? So you went back to this bitch after saying all that shit about how she does nothing for you and how I'm so much better? Really!"

"Wait you said that?" Girl focus you will not let this dude get the best of you.

"No! I never-"

"Yes he did, he said you wouldn't put out but we can both see that's not true." She said cutting Anthony off. Girl don't you dare, suck them damn tears up and hold your head up!

"Fuck you Anthony!" I said grabbing my dress and bag running down the stairs shaking my head as I walked through the door and slammed it closed before walking towards my car. I stopped when I saw his fighting like hell not to give into my urge but my anger boiled over and I said fuck it.

I grabbed the spray paint I bought and climbed on the hood on his car and sprayed his windshield with the words I CHEATED ON MY GIRLFRIEND. I looked around and grabbed the biggest rock I could find and walked to the back and threw it through his back window letting out a grunt before grabbing another and hitting his driver side window.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" Anthony shouted and before I knew it I dropped the bag and my dress and charged him, Istarted punching him until I felt my self being lifted and at that point I was crying so hard I didn't even realize what was going on.

"What's going on here?" His dad asked looking between us then back at his son who shrugged.

"She's crazy! She attacked me after destroying my truck, look!" Anthony said pointing to his truck and his parents gasped and looked at me wanting answers.

"No, no don't make this all on me! You cheated on me with her and acted like it was my fault!" I shouted.

"No we broke up and I moved on, you just can't seem to get over that!" Anthony said lying again.

"No we didn't, you showed up at school with her and kissed her in front of me! I was at your house this weekend eating and laughing with your parents!" I shouted trying to break free of to hit him again.

"We broke up and you know it, now stop lying and pretending like you're not some crazy stalker bitch!" Anthony spat back and I couldn't stop the intake of air before stepping back shaking my head.

"He's lying! H-he's lying..." I said looking at his parents who were both giving me questioning looks.

"Maybe we should call the police.." His mother said after a few moments. Cue Run by AWOLNATION… bitch run!

I wasn't sure how I got home so fast or even remember getting into my car at that I just know I ran straight into Marcus when I got out of my car. He grabbed me and tried to fight my way out of his hold but he managed to get me locked into his embrace.

"What's wrong? Why do you look like that?" He asked still trying to hold me still as I struggled.

"N-nothing! Just let me go!" I said trying to hard to get wiggle away from him.

"I'm not letting you go, tell me what what's going on and why you only have a jersey." He said turning me to face him his face was hard at first before panic set in. "Did something happen? Did someone take advantage of you? Tell me right now!" He said shaking my slightly. I shook my head and started to cry leaning my head into his chest.

"No, Anthony… he cheated on me and I don't know I wanted revenge so I did something stupid and then I did something even more stupid! Now I'm sure the cops are after me and I am really hurt because he lied and made it seem like it was some crazy ex but that's not true! I fucked up… and I vandalized his truck in the process."

"Oh God you didn't bust his windows did you?" He asked and I just cried even harder.

"I'm so fucked! Moma and daddy are going to kill me!" I said shaking my head. "I don't even know what I did to him you know?"

"Hey, you listen to me and you listen well. Don't you ever seek any type of validation from some fuck boy that does shit like that. I believe you Squirt and I don't ever want you to blame yourself for someone else's actions, he did what he did and you in return did what you did. No, I'm not justifying your actions because still don't belittle your worth and don't beat yourself over that asshole. As for moma and daddy, don't worry I'll cover this ONE time but don't you ever let another dude get you out of character like this okay?"

"What about the cops?"

"I am the cops, I'll get the case and I'll pay for the damages but you will never go back to him understand?" Marcus said firmly and I just nodded trying to make the tears stop.

"I just..."

"It's okay to be sad… but remember what I said, know your worth. Go inside and try to calm down okay? Hey this whole situation stays between us okay?"

"Okay. Thank you Marcus." I replied hugging him before walking inside.

End Flashback

"So there you have it… that's the whole story." I said looking at Sam who hadn't said a word and when I looked behind I saw my parents who both had the same expression on their faces. Shit!

"Did that really happen?" My father asked and I stood up shaking my head.

"Yeah… it did." I said looking at both of my parents and my father started to move but my mother stopped him.

"You never said anything about this to us, how did we not about this until now?" Deborah asked.

"I promised Marcus I wouldn't and I didn't want to talk about it either so I just locked it-"

"You could have gone to jail! You could have had a record Mercedes and you made that type of decision without even talking to us!" My mother said and I knew this wasn't going to go anywhere.

"Come on Sam, this only going to get worse." I said shaking my head.

"Sweet pea, wait." He said before walking straight up to where Sam was standing holding out his hand.

"My name is Jacob Jones and I do think we should start over." Umm the hell just happened? I don't know but just smile.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Jones, and I think for both of our sake that'll be great." Sam replied with a smile shaking my father's hand. I looked around waiting to see my mother do it as well but she didn't. You know what she's doing… YES but I shouldn't have to be the bigger person. I'm the damn child… right?

"So you and my daughter… this is a first time for you both correct?"

"Yes sir, I've never even remotely gave any other student a second glance. I would like to add that I did try to fight this but..."

"I know she's persistent she gets that from her mother." So they just talking shit like I'm not here?

"Umm I'm right here…" I said looking at them both and they shared a laugh, I looked back at my mother whose facial expression was still angry. She's not going to make that first move. Tough titty because again, I'm the child.

"So you could have a possible criminal career, you admitted to sleeping with this gentleman and now you expect us to act like nothing has changed?" Deborah said after remaining silent for as long as she could.

"God mommy yes! Yes! I've had sex, you even said that you could tell when you thought I was sleeping with Noah. I made a mistake okay, my heart was broken and I tried to talk to you but you just dismissed me! I like Sam, I'm dating Sam and you need to accept it not everything has to be so difficult between us."

"It wouldn't be so damn difficult if you didn't always have something crazy going on in her you life and then we have to come in and clean it up!" I'm confused…

"What do you want me to do? Break up with him? Will that make you happy?" I said feeling defeated and felt Sam grab my hand and squeeze gently.

"I'm not going to come between the both of you. You need to fix things with you mother and I can't be the reason for it, it was lovely meeting you all." He said turning to me and giving me a smile before kissing my hand and walking away. Did he just… yes bitch, he removed his self so you wouldn't have to do it.

Sam

"Hey man, everything okay?"

"Ah… no. I was her ride and I'm going to go so can you make sure she gets back to campus?" I asked her brother who gave a me strange look.

"Wait what happened?" Marcus asked confused.

"I made it easier for her and you guys mother to fix… whatever they have going on. Don't get me wring I really like your sister and I know the circumstances are a bit odd but I don't think it's fair to be the reason they can't fix their issues." I replied

"So you left two wolves to handle a damn near nine year long feud… smart man but yeah I'll make sure she gets home but I will say this she won't make it easy to come back." Marcus warned and I just nodded knowing he was right.

"Can you-" I started but just shook my head before leaving. You better be sure this is what you want to do.

Mercedes

"Happy?" I asked looking directly at my mother.

"As a matter of fact yes, yes I'm happy! What were you thinking about entering a relationship with your professor?" Deborah asked giving me an annoyed look. Go see if we catch Sam because this ain't it sis.

"Deborah, we agreed you'd-"

"No you agreed, I never responded! I am not going to be okay with this and you're actively choosing to ignore that that grown man has slept with our child." Yeah… you shouldn't have had told them part, now she gone think you fucking everybody granddaddy.

"I am an adult! It's my body and my life, I am not a baby any-"

"Yes you are! You are my baby! You are my sweet baby girl that stopped talking to me! You just stopped looking at me as your mother, your friend… your biggest supporter. I didn't know he did that to you, you should have made me listen." Deborah said choking up and squeezing her eyes shut. Wait what… girl..she has never cried in front..

"Mommy… I-" SAY SOMETHING!

"No, I know I should have tried to mend things between us but you shut me out… you started talking to your father about things we used to talk about and I didn't know how to handle it. Listen baby, I'm sorry that I did what I did today inviting Anthony and I promise had I know I wouldn't have even spoken to him. Please forgive me." Deborah said moving closer to her daughter.

"Mommy… I, I didn't mean- it was just so hard to talk to you after that. Daddy listened without trying to analyze me..." I said trying to comprehend what the hell just happened my mother never apologized for anything. This a whole culture reset…

"I know baby and again I am very sorry, I just want my daughter back." She replied walking straight over to me and hugging me and for the first time in a very long time that invisible weight had fallen off my shoulders.

"I'm sorry too. I should've told you after everything happened but I just couldn't." Y'all got a bitch crying.

"I promise to do better baby, I really promise just don't stop talking to me again okay?"

"I promise I won't."

"About Sam… I know you don't think my reasoning is valid but just consider my words, he is older and might want things that you are not ready for right now and that's my only real issue. I don't want you to grow up any faster than you need to, you still have time to chase any and all of your dreams." Well shit that thought never crossed our mind…

After my mom and I talked some more, Marcus let me know we needed to get on the road because he had a long day and wanted to get back in a decent amount of time. I promised to call my parents after I made it and I also promised to come back down to visit after finals.

"So you want me to take you home to his place?" Marcus asked after we got close to campus.

"I honestly don't know…" I replied looking at my phone reading the message Sam sent me.

"What changed?"

"Moma said something that I hadn't thought about and maybe I should listen to her… oh don't give me that look, I listen sometimes." To who? Cause it damn sure isn't me!

"Well it looks as if you have a choice to make." Marcus said pulling up to my apartment and parking.

"And what's that?"

"To go after what you want or to do what you know you should do."

What the hell do I want?

Welp... Sam being noble and shit. Mercedes and her mom making up... that flashback though! What does she want? Semi serious chapter... the foolery will return in the next chapter y'all know she gone done some crazy shit lol There will be a mini time jump in the next chapter, maybe some fluff too ;) until next time XOXO!
